Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
That's right. Welcome in, everybody.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
We're live in Los Angeles, no New York City this week. No,
you're not allowed at the GMFB table.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
I'm Jamie or at all.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
Will black Men, you decided to say you're a super
Bowl champion.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Of people forty six.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
All right, we've got another current player, but this time
from the Chargers, Tony Jefferson. You're on the big boy
seat here, Tony Jefferson, and he's been.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
A guest on GMFB before.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
But Yogi, you're here for the whole experience now, Big
ten and Fox Football analyst Yogi Roth, Yogi, good morning
to you.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Good to see you, everybody.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
It's a line change like in hockey, but we're talking
about NFL and the NFL Draft on GMFP. It starts
right now.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
Good Morning Football.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Wow, really, that's fascinating. Welcome inside GMFPE, everybody.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
We are officially one week away from the twenty twenty
five NFL Draft in Green Bay. We know each other
so well at this table, we're going middle names during
the commercial break. That's how deep we roll with the
cast of characters on GMFB, Yogi, Will and Tony. It's
all happening. We got draft stuff to get you. We
have a ton of guests this hour, which is crazy.
We got Alabama guys. If you were a fan of

(01:28):
any other college football team, we do apologize.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
We've had your guys on.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
Alabama just picked up the phone today and said we
have all of our players available, so here they come
until then, Tom Pellasero, welcome inside GMF this morning. I
know you will be in Green Bay next week, but
let's talk New York and what the Giants have been
busy doing over the last couple of days. They're finishing
up their homework on some quarterbacks before next Thursday's draft.
What is the latest, Because there's always something new with

(01:53):
this team.

Speaker 5 (01:55):
Jamie, this might be the most important road trip for
the Giants in twenty twenty five. Right now, they are
in Boulder, Colorado to conduct a p I have at
workout today with Colorado quarterback Shoulder Sanders. Course Sanders has
been rumored to be the giants franchise quarterback going all
the way back to the fall, when the Giants had
a scout or someone at virtually every open practice and

(02:17):
every game that should do Or played that this is
not the only workout that they are running. On Friday,
they are going to work out Alabama's Jalen Milroe. On Saturday,
they are going to work out Louisville's Tyler Shuck. You
might wonder why at this stage in the process are
the Giants doing these additional workouts.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Just one week out from the draft.

Speaker 5 (02:36):
Well, for one thing, seeing these guys back to back
to back allows you to make more of an apples
to apples type of comparison, get a feel for them,
how they might be different. It's also an opportunity to
challenge them that goes beyond the scope. Once you normally
get out of pro day, you can dictate, make them
throw the throws that you want to see, testimon some
things that might not have shown up on film, test.

Speaker 4 (02:56):
Them on verbiage.

Speaker 5 (02:58):
All those things are unique opportunities as the Giants try
to run a very thorough process. GM Joe Shaye will
be part of that contingent in Boulder today. Also said
in a media conference on Wednesday that he won't rule
out basically anything at Number three. Talked about Travis Hunter,
talked about Abdul Carter also talked even about the possibility
of moving back now. We certainly can argue, and people

(03:20):
in the league will, but whether or not the value
is there at number three for a guy like Shuck
or Milroe or even Chador Sanders. But also remember the
Giants have a high second round pick as well. There
could be maneuvering up and down the board. The intrigue
continues to ramp up with that draft just one week away, Jamie.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
All right, Tom Pete, we appreciate you. You know, yesterday Tom,
it was announced that our get time.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Back up here.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
I gotta keep talking to him, the NFL media group
and everyone who's going to Green.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Bay for the draft.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
This will be my first NFL draft experience. I get
to interview guys like Shador Sanders on stage. You yourself,
not only are a draft veteran, you are a Green
Bay veteran and expert as well.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Are you personally.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Looking forward to returning to your old stomping grounds in
Green Bay? And do you have any quick recommends for
those who are descending upon the great city in Wisconsin.

Speaker 5 (04:09):
I keep telling everybody that Green Bay will be a
fantastic host for the Draft. It's changed a lot since
I was on the Green Bay Press Gazette Beat and
would bump into Will Blackman in line at the subway downtown.
There's a lot of variety on dining options that you
have around Green Bay. I'm staying at a hotel that
I didn't even know existed. There's a ton of fantastic restaurants.
There's a ton of great breweries, distilleries, tons of things

(04:32):
that you can do, and it's all so close together.
Should be very easy to navigate. So for me and
everybody else, I'll show your own town, Jamie, should be.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
A good That was a welcome to Wisconsin dot Com commercial.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Tom Pee.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
We appreciate you so much and I will see you
over Spotted Cow on draft because there's the only place
you can get it right.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Will to talking about.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
That's what I'm talking about, Tom Tellis, Sarah, thank you
so much.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Let's focus on the Giants. Don't look at me like that, spotty.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
That was a great pull at this spoty cow, Spotty Cow.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
I mean, I am from the neighboring Minnesota, so I
understand it and I respect the heck out of it
as I do the Giants because they signed Russell Wilson
and Jamis Winston this offseason, but their GM, as Tom
p just mentioned, was asked if they will look to
the draft for the quarterback position at number three, their
current draft spot in the first round.

Speaker 6 (05:20):
With the signing of those two players, I think we
put our position ourselves in a position where, you know,
I don't think that's mandatory or something that we're our
feet of the fire and we have to do. You know,
I think the two guys we signed have played a
lot of ball, They've got a lot of skins on
the wall, and I do think we've upgraded that room,
you know, compared to where it was a year ago.

Speaker 4 (05:39):
I like the two guys that we have, and you.

Speaker 6 (05:40):
Know, Tommy's still in there, and he's won games for
us too, and he's still developing, you know, so we're
happy with the makeup of the room right now. You
would like to have, you know, a young franchise quarterback,
I think every general manager would be, you know, everybody
wants that, you know.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
So, but the value has to be right or it
doesn't matter. I mean, you get that one wrong, you know,
you just got to get that right.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
They have to get this one right, especially because it
didn't pan out quite well.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
With Daniel Jones.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
They wanted him to be the face of the franchise,
and that's let's just say it wasn't right. So will
Blackman drafting a quarterback in the first round, if you
are pretending to be Joe Shane today, put your Joe
Shane hat on.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Is this a must?

Speaker 7 (06:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (06:18):
I would say it is a must because ever since
they benched my beloved Eli Manning, they have been in trouble.
I'm a huge Red Sox fan, and so we have
the curse of the band bin O. We have that
going on right now. The Giants have the Curse of
Eli because they have had trouble with the quarterback position. Now, yes,
they are in a great position. They have Russell Wilson,
you have Jamis, and you have the Veatos. But however,
Russell and Jamis down one year deals, and so I

(06:41):
feel like you have to go and get a quarterback
at three. And I do like Shadors Shanders, There's nothing
wrong with him sitting in the first year because Russell,
if he's healthy, he's starting. Like even when he tore
his he had a Grade three MCL tear, he did
not miss any games. If he missed games because he
was truly hurt. He's gonna start, he's gonna play. He's
someone who's very competitive and he's going to do a
great job. And there's nothing wrong with him sitting Mahomes

(07:03):
who was drafted outside the top SAT Rogers who was
drafted outside the top twenty SAT.

Speaker 9 (07:08):
So I have no.

Speaker 4 (07:08):
Issues with that.

Speaker 8 (07:09):
But you do have to get your guy for the
future because they never had a chance to get their guys.
So for me, it is vital that you find your
quarterback for the future. And three, I think is a
great value for Shador.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
M hmm. You what do you think?

Speaker 7 (07:20):
Is it a must I adventure? Yok.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
I don't think it's a muss to get a quarterback
because here's the deal. When you look at this team.
Number one, they have a lot of issues in terms
of they gouts win. It's gonna win. I mean, what
did he say with his body language to me watching
their GM was if you get it wrong, you might
get seeing that, you know what, Like, I think they
need to build this team to go win. To have
this belief, whether it's the fan base, whether it's the
ownership group, you name it, go there. And I think

(07:45):
Shador he brings such a unique lens to the NFL draft.
Let's look at it in college football.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
You know you're a.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
Boston College Covery college football forever. You look at Shador
Sanders and right now. I think there's a lot of
people I've talked to the NFL that are like, I
don't know, it's new agy, it's social media, it's branding,
it's all these things that are not does you show
up at five am, have a couple of cup of
black coffee and just go to work and watch tape.
Then there's the other half. They're like, well, in high
school you're building a rand. In college you have nal

(08:14):
deal time. I mean, quarterbacks have fragrances, they watches, they
have cars, they do so many things. And then among
those that I think are okay with the new age
of generation a quarterback, I think some of them are saying, well,
do I want to bring all of that to here,
especially if my job is in jeopardy. Yeah, they start
of one and four. We all know what the narrative
is going to be if he's with the New York Giants.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
So yes, should they get a quarterback?

Speaker 9 (08:34):
For sure?

Speaker 4 (08:34):
Should it be Tyler Shuck, should be somebody later. Yeah,
that's where I go.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
I don't think at three you want to get a
quarterback at all, let alone should or Sanders.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
They got to build this team, Okay, So whoever it is, though,
what you're implying is that if the Giants take a
quarterback in the first round they start one to four.
Are you saying that guy's playing or should it be
one of those.

Speaker 8 (08:50):
Other Yeah, you push the door.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
Yeah, if you draft anybody to me in the top ten,
I get the Carson Palmer example of the examples you gave.
Those are such anomalies at that position. Especially your backstands
the wall, and you say we need a franchise quarterback.
You draft a franchise quarterback. I think you to play
your franchise quarterback, especially coming off the season last year.
You guys are on this set at the end of
the season saying what's going to happen in New York
and then they came out said we're going to bring
everybody back. So to me, continue to build this roster.

(09:15):
Go get Tyler Warren, Go.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
Get a player if you can. If I'm dual carters.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Still there, pare him on the outside with keve On
Thibodeau like you have to get somebody to make the
roster better, just just fixing the positions.

Speaker 9 (09:27):
Right.

Speaker 10 (09:27):
Yeah, yo, I agree with you. I agree with Joe.
I don't think you have to reach for a quarterback
early in this draft. You have two starting caliber quarterbacks
and Jamison and Russell Wilson who've already proven that they
can go in and play and win you football games.
So there's no point in my opinion, based on your

(09:48):
evaluation to now, if you evaluate a quarterback and you think, Okay,
this guy he is our franchise quarterback. We can go
get him. But you're really on a time stamp. You
want to win right now. You don't have time to
wait and see if this guy can't be the guy
you can get your franchise quarterback. And following years next year,
you never know who's going to come available via trade,

(10:10):
free agency. So I don't think you want to reach
now if you don't think that's the guy.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
It's an interesting point. Like you think of Atlanta last year.
We all freaked out when they went and got Michael
Pennix junior.

Speaker 9 (10:19):
But out.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
To that point though, I think the staff at least
after the draft, would they say, well, we thought he
was the best available. Even when you look down the road,
so you think Sandro Sanders, you project out the next
two drafts like, Okay, we think he's going to be
better than Kate club Nick. We think he's gonna be
better than anybody that might be coming out in the
ANNIFLD draft.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
Then maybe you go do it.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
But I'm with you on that, man, Like, I don't
think you want to go take this reach today for him?

Speaker 4 (10:46):
Is he proven?

Speaker 9 (10:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (10:47):
I think he's a heck of a player. Yeah, tough
as nails. He's played four years at the start to
his quarterback coach yesterday, Guy's developed in Daryl Colbert works
one to want them since he was in high school.
He's ready for this. He's built for it. I don't
think he can't handle New York. But I just think
for the team, to me, it would shock me. They're
building this thing to go win if they went out
and tried to get a quarterback in.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
It is a unique situation because while you reference the
two veteran quarterbacks that are in the room, just remembering
that they are both on one year deals makes it
a really hard circumstance. So essentially you have a luxury
right now playing on a Chargers team where you're like,
Justin Herbert's our guy, Like he's just the guy for
them some bears. If you're in the locker room as
a Giants player and you don't go franchise quarterback, I
feel like I'd be sitting there like, what are we doing?

(11:29):
We have two one year guys, and no matter who
it is as your starter, you still don't know the future.
How do you think that would feel if you're a
player in the locker.

Speaker 10 (11:36):
Room, Well, I would feel comfortable just because it's Russell Wilson.
You don't just say this guy is a one year guy.
If he goes and balls out with New York, he
could be a guy that's there for another two three years.
So I wouldn't completely throw that out. But you know,
like I said, with the Giants, just where they're at,
I don't think you really want.

Speaker 7 (11:57):
To focus on the future. You want to focus on wine.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
Do you sit here and listen to all this rigamar
role about franchise quarterbacks and just think you're lucky starting
and I have a.

Speaker 7 (12:05):
Six to six quarterback, beautiful cannon.

Speaker 10 (12:08):
In practice, you have to be on your guy or's
going to belt right in the buckets.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
I'd be curious, Well, like when you look at the
NFL and you've been there before with we're one year deal,
Like what does that do for you as a player,
Because I look at that KB room. To your point, Jane,
I'm thinking these two quarterbacks, the Jamis Winston or Russell Wilson.
They're saying I'm gonna go show, I'm gonna go prove
that I am the guy. I'm gonna go right out
of the big deal.

Speaker 8 (12:30):
Well, but again this is I don't First of all,
I don't think it's a reach based on just my tape.
And what for sure for Shadori is like everything you
mentioned about shador he still went out there and performed
at a high level. I mean seventy four completion percenters,
four thousand yards and still balled out. And I've been
a situation where yeah, I was playing on one year
one of two year deals the last like five years
of my career. So I came in every season like

(12:51):
trying to prove myself. I feel with Jamis he hasn't
been a full time starter since twenty nineteen.

Speaker 9 (12:56):
He's almost it's.

Speaker 8 (12:56):
Almost like he's cool like, Okay, I'm gonna beat the
veteran in the room. Hopefully the Domino's fault. Well, I'm
back out there and I'm going to perform because he's
still has a great arm. Where Russell he has always
been the startup unless he has not been healthy or
unless he gets bench for some crazy reason. So that's
why again him on the one year deal, which for him,
for Russell is more of a proven deal, I feel like,

(13:17):
but jamis he's going to play for another ten years.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
He's going to be another you know.

Speaker 8 (13:21):
Brisco there just playing forever, always getting signed because what
he adds for a team. And so yeah, the one
year deal is more so for Russell.

Speaker 7 (13:28):
Trying to get more money.

Speaker 8 (13:29):
But I just feel like, for sure, Door it would
be there's no better place for him to sit behind
and watch a quarterback be professional, someone who's won a
Super Bowl, someone was you know, going to be a
Hall of Famer, and Russell Wilson. So that's why I
do like this for them.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
All Right, it's not just us who's focusing the first
fifteen minutes of our show on that number three spot
that the Giants hold in the draft. Our NFL Network
Draft expert Daniel Jeremiah was on ESPN's NFL Live yesterday
and he suggested another quarterback in the draft could be
a good fit in New York wearing Giants.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Blew, who is a DJ?

Speaker 11 (14:00):
What do you do if you take a player there
at number three? To me, I think Abdul Carter will
be the pick. I think Travis Hunter goes to Abdul
Carter goes to the Giants, and then Pittsburgh is that target.
Knowing at twenty one that could be a quarterback spot.
So what does it cost the Giants to get to
twenty It's really not that bad.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
When you look at the chart. You're looking at.

Speaker 11 (14:19):
Pick thirty four in the second round, pick sixty five
in the third round. They also have an extra third
round pick they'd hold on to, and then a fifth
round pick, so they can have their cake and eat
it too. You get the premier player and come back
up for the quarterback. And to me, Jackson Dart is
one that makes sense in that environment, in that division,
in that weather. I just think he's a little more rugged,

(14:39):
a little.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
More arm strength, a little more physical. To me, that's
a match there with the.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
Giants rugged arm strength and physical. That's DJ's assessment of
Jackson Dart is that a perfect fit for the Giants?

Speaker 8 (14:51):
Will black Men, I think Jackson's a hell of a talent,
but I don't think he's a fifth of the Giants. Again,
I'm going to the football family like they did with
the Mannings, I'm going with the Sanders. But again, I
love Jackson dark Tony.

Speaker 3 (15:01):
What do you think is that Jackson Dart of what
you've seen, of of what the Giants need.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
Does that work?

Speaker 7 (15:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 10 (15:06):
I think Jackson Dart is a good fit. I just
don't think he's a good fit at number three. Maybe
if they trade back or they picked him later in
the rounds and he falls down, which I don't really
anticipate him falling that far.

Speaker 7 (15:17):
But I do believe he's a good fit for a
lot of take.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
I think a big part of the quarterbacks in the draft.
It's like a backup quarterback draft, like a lot of
capable guys. Wait a decade in the NFL. We're gonna
talk about doing Gabriel later. Will Howard like, you look
at some of these other players in that position, That's right,
I think you got to look at it. So I
think you're just tracking it is. Jackson gone, okay, no
problem first, Tyler Schuck, Okay, what's going on? Will Howard
like he there's five to seven quarterbacks I think big.

Speaker 8 (15:38):
Cousins like draft like middle rounders.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
That that's right, Max Brosburg from Minnesota, and there's some
sleepers that a right place the thing at quarterback.

Speaker 4 (15:44):
Now you all know it's from college football. They've played
a ton of ball. Yeah, the guys that played four
or five.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Six seasons, I mean sixty three starts from dying Gabriel.
I mean there's a lot of experience there. So if
you don't go with your boys, shaudor then I think,
no problem, and you sit back and see how this
thing shakes outs.

Speaker 4 (15:58):
Thinks a lot of capable.

Speaker 3 (15:59):
Number two well though Nick started that trend last year
being the two big time program guy and what he
has sixty six or sixty Yeah, Oh my gosh, we
are going to talk about Dylan Gabriel tugs good, hugs Caswell.

Speaker 7 (16:18):
Jahar terrible. How good is he? Rocky?

Speaker 9 (16:21):
And they'll bring it down, goes Newballer. What a play
by Jihod Campbell.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
Right out the gut that was denied.

Speaker 5 (16:27):
It was Campbell getting in there his.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
Dress at Paul's boose that is recovered by Alabama clean
click gro on a second play and went down his
grading cook.

Speaker 4 (16:38):
That was Campbell coming in right away.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
There have been a string of linebackers to come from
Alabama to be drafted in the NFL and make immediate impacts,
and that guy is the next on the list. It's
Jehad Campbell. Everybody from Alabama. What's that fullside? We're awesome, Johds,
awesome to see you this morning. We are one week
away from inevitably one of the biggest moments in your

(17:04):
life because you enlighten us as to where your head
is at right now as you prepare to hear your
name called in Green Bay next week.

Speaker 9 (17:12):
Definitely, for sure.

Speaker 12 (17:12):
I mean it's an honor, you know, to even you know,
just being to be put in this position and you know,
go through these things, and you know, I've been doing
it ever since I was young, ever since I was
four years old, running around in the football field trying
to you know, play play alongside all the older guys.
So I mean, you know, as I as I you know,
go through my journey and stuff like that, you know,
I always look back and stay humble and you know,

(17:33):
just stay treated myself for the you. I always appreciate
the little things, you know, that come along with this journey.
And I mean I just keep on working hard. That's
all I do.

Speaker 8 (17:41):
Yo, Jaha, Well Black Ben here, How you doing, man?

Speaker 9 (17:43):
How you doing man? I'm good.

Speaker 4 (17:44):
Hey man.

Speaker 8 (17:45):
As one of the top linebackers heading into the twenty
twenty five draft, you met with numerous teams during this process.

Speaker 7 (17:51):
Any particular team.

Speaker 8 (17:52):
Stand out during your pre draft meeting and can you
give us one good story about any team that you
have met with.

Speaker 12 (17:58):
I mean, I think, you know, just going through this process,
like all the teams are good, right, you know, all
the team I mean, this is one big industry, you
feel what I'm saying, everybody's connected, everybody you know, next resource.
So I think that's that's the biggest thing, you know,
just getting familiar with these cultures, you know, and just
having relationships.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
Really, John, We've spoken to a bunch of people at
Alabama and they all rave about your leadership traits. I'm
curious for you the origin of those and how you've
developed them over the course of your time in Alabama.

Speaker 12 (18:25):
Yeah, definitely, I mean, you know, just coming in as
a freshman and really, you know, being one of those
guys that try to do the right thing, you know,
try to be around the guys like Kerry Toto, Will Anderson.

Speaker 9 (18:34):
Dallas Turner.

Speaker 12 (18:36):
My guy Chris Bridswell is at Temple right now, so
you know, just understanding that local leadership role and you know,
knowing how to hold other people accountable, you know, as
well as yourself.

Speaker 7 (18:45):
So God, what's going on?

Speaker 9 (18:48):
Bro?

Speaker 10 (18:50):
And we all we all saw your combine, Bro, you
went off, you went crazy. Hey, we we saw that
forty You ran faster, uh than than Fred Warner, which
is some pretty good company to be to be in
line with.

Speaker 9 (19:09):
Have you had any I really thought that was a
fourth forward of for real, but you.

Speaker 7 (19:13):
Really around a four to four bones. It looked that way.
It looked that way.

Speaker 9 (19:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (19:20):
Is there any linebacker in particular that you like model
your game after or that you watch?

Speaker 12 (19:25):
Yeah, I mean, you know when you look at that,
you know it's a lot of great guys.

Speaker 9 (19:29):
And come a guy.

Speaker 12 (19:30):
You know, you got a guy Headhon Cooper that just
came out, you know last year the draft, and I
mean he put himself on the map, you know, first
of the year, That's exactly what I'm trying to get.
What I'm saying, just really get in and really understand,
you know, what is the scheme, and you know how
to just go about it, and you know, making sure
that everything is structured, and you know I'm doing it
right there.

Speaker 8 (19:47):
Sure at the combine, you told the media that you
love to show your versatility when you're in coverage, especially
playing Tampa too. What is a bunch of game that
makes you so confident in defending opposing players down the field.

Speaker 12 (20:00):
I mean it's just fun, you know, just to solf
my speed, you know, just like how I didn't a
forty and I mean, you know that's that's one of
my best attributes, you know, just being able to cover
running back, being able to cover tight ends in a
two by two formation, empty three by one, you name it,
being able to you know, cover receivers on the goal line.
I mean obviously, you know there's definitely areas that I

(20:20):
could improve on, you know, always work on.

Speaker 9 (20:22):
But you know Scott's doing.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
John, you can do a lot with your games. Just
describe whether you're playing that whole area and cover two.
But you also, I feel like you might have a little
TV in your in your future.

Speaker 4 (20:33):
So be an analyst for us.

Speaker 1 (20:35):
We've got your teammate, Tyler Booker coming on the show,
so so be good morning football for us. Give us
a little evaluation on him, a little Scotter report.

Speaker 4 (20:42):
We can hold you to it. Get We're ready.

Speaker 12 (20:46):
That's like, I don't know, I don't know any any
other way to explain it. Like, you know, just I'm
just really extremely proud of that guy. And I mean
doing like and I mean, y'all got the film up
and y'all see like that's not like that. That's an
explanation right here for you, you know, And I mean
just going to IMG with that, to really grown with
him and learn it from him, and you know, just.

Speaker 9 (21:07):
Us learning from each other.

Speaker 12 (21:08):
I mean, I'm talking when he was an office attack,
when I was playing airtrs to IMG, and I mean,
it was definitely fine. And then you know, seeing our
dreams kind of light and you know, just having us
flourish out on his football field, on his practice field,
and you know, in the film room and also in
the classroom. It's definitely a special moment for the both
of us, but definitely for him for sure.

Speaker 3 (21:28):
What a ringing endorsement for your teammate from college. Johan,
you are a New Jersey product. I believe you grew
up in New Jersey. Where just for people who don't
know the geography, where in your locales north central or
Southern Jersey are you from? And also what in your childhood?
What did that mean for any NFL team that you
cheered for?

Speaker 12 (21:48):
Yeah, so, I mean I was, you know, a South
Jersey kid. I'm riginally from Canada, New Jersey. You know,
I've been in different places in Jersey, you know, just
living in the area and growing up. I mean I
was always a footballer, Jankie, really sports Jenkie. Believe it
or not. I love basketball before I love football. But
you know that's that's that's one another day really.

Speaker 3 (22:09):
So, like, so like six ers when you were a
kid or what?

Speaker 12 (22:12):
Yeah, yeah, six ers, Yeah, I mean I used to.
I used to play a lot a U ball, middle
school ball. So unfortunately I couldn't play in high school.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
So, yeah, you got to focus, You got to have
your dreams come true with the NFL.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
We understand that.

Speaker 3 (22:26):
So, John, the NFL announced earlier this week that you're
going to be attending the draft in person. So here
comes the most important question, What are we wearing in
Green Bay on Draft night when you cross the stage?

Speaker 9 (22:39):
We got it and we just gonna wait and see that.

Speaker 12 (22:43):
Yeah, you wait, you see, It's definitely gonna be a
special moment, you know, just I mean just being there,
you know, all the guys that I've been connected with
and other guys you know that I can have a
chance to connect with. I mean, it's a great group
of guys and it's definitely a harder, you know, to
be put in this situation, and especially for my family,
you know, like they never got to see this moment,
and you know, just seeing this moment for for you know,

(23:05):
a young gentleman like me is definitely special.

Speaker 4 (23:07):
It is going to be special. We get it. You
don't want to tell us you're you're a tire for
the evening, But have.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
You have you told Tyler, like, have you guys talked
about it is gonna be some sort.

Speaker 12 (23:14):
Of Yeah, we talked about the outfit his ol which
moved too though for sure.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
Of course, can you imagine if they show up at
the same time and they're just twinning as.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
They walked down around?

Speaker 3 (23:26):
Yes, please something Bill Crimson tied inside the Jag and
Tony's like, well, please.

Speaker 7 (23:30):
Don't do that.

Speaker 3 (23:31):
Individualized Johan Campbell, we wish you the best of health
and everything moving forward in the NFL. We can't wait
to have you on GMFB again once we find out what.

Speaker 2 (23:38):
Team you're on.

Speaker 9 (23:39):
Definitely, I appreciate it all.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
Absolutely, Joe Hot Campbell.

Speaker 3 (23:43):
Everybody roll tide until we find out where he's headed.
But I'm sure he'll keep that Crimson tied in his
heart forever.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
In the NFL. He called Tyler Booker a dog.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
I have to imagine some draft analysts are calling to
Hod Campbell that as well.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
Everybody will be right back on GMF.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
I don't know if you've heard this, but the NFL
Draft is just one week away, and today we are
joined by one of the top prospects who is eagerly
waiting to hear his name called. And after chatting with
him in the commercial, so are we because we love
Tyler Booker, Alabama offensive lineman.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
What's up, Tyler?

Speaker 13 (24:17):
How doing?

Speaker 2 (24:18):
We're great? More importantly, how are you doing, Tyler?

Speaker 13 (24:21):
I'm great. I'm super excited. I've been dreaming for this
week since I was a kid, So one day closer.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
Absolutely, and you are inching your way towards hearing your
name called. What is it like for you right now?
Just every day passes. Who are you hearing from? What
is your life like? As you prepare to have your
life change and play in the NFL next fall.

Speaker 13 (24:43):
These past couple weeks, my life has been super busy,
whether I've been on zooms where I've been taking busys,
taking calls, and it's just.

Speaker 9 (24:50):
Been a lot.

Speaker 13 (24:50):
But I'm just really trying to enjoy the whole process
because You're going to go through this once. But I'm
very excited to hear here who fought my name on Thursday?

Speaker 4 (24:59):
Tyler will Blackman?

Speaker 8 (25:00):
Here?

Speaker 7 (25:00):
How you doing man?

Speaker 9 (25:01):
I'm great? How about yourself?

Speaker 7 (25:02):
I'm chilling, man, I'm doing great.

Speaker 8 (25:04):
More But listen to the stat table, Puma, listen to
the stack. In three hundred and seventy one past snaps
this year you had you gave up zero sacks, which
is absolutely outrageous. Please talk to me about your mindset,
your playing style, your technique, how you were able to
achieve that.

Speaker 13 (25:22):
So, first thing first when it comes to sacks, like
Jalen is one of my closest friends in the world,
and us having a really tight bond, like nobody's gonna
touch jail. Nobody's getting to jail. So that's my mindset,
like that's that's that's the franchise player back there. So
nobody's getting in. When it comes to my technique and
just how our person the game of football, I'm looking
to dominate you. I'm I'm looking to win every rep
like it's unacceptable for me to lose a rep, you know,

(25:44):
And that's my mindset going into every game. And even
if I do having to lose a rep, I go,
I interlize what I get wrong, and I'm onto the
next rep.

Speaker 9 (25:50):
But at the end of the day, nobody touches tailor bodyguard.
Do you walk?

Speaker 2 (25:56):
Do you walk into class like that?

Speaker 9 (26:00):
No?

Speaker 13 (26:00):
But so so we go to breakfast every Friday morning
during the season, we go with I can see it
in Jeff Allen and whenever we have to leave, all
the fans of bombarnam so I have to like grab
put his hand down like he's the president.

Speaker 4 (26:12):
Legit.

Speaker 1 (26:15):
You've been in this process now for a while and
we all know in Tusca, Lusa you're under a microscope.
There's a lot of opinions. They call it rat poison,
if you will. We brought in a guest analyst to
do an email on your game. I just want to
hear one more opinion, just one more opinion. Let us
know what you think about this evaluation of your game.

Speaker 9 (26:34):
That's all. I don't know.

Speaker 12 (26:38):
I don't know any any other way to explain it. Like,
you know, just I'm just really extremely proud of that guy.
And I mean all the work that you're doing, like
and I mean, y'all got the film up and y'all
see like that's something like that. That's an explanation right
there for you, you know, And I mean just going
to IMG with that dude, to really grown with him
and learn it from him, and you know, just us
learning from each other. I mean, I'm talking on he
was an office at TACKLE and I was, you know,

(26:58):
playing edge on IMG, and I mean it was definitely fine.
And then you know, seeing our dreams come to life,
and you know, just having though floors out on this
football field, on his presentice field, and you know, in
the film and also in the classroom. It's definitely a
special moment for the both of us, but definitely for
him for sure.

Speaker 9 (27:18):
What do you think, how do you do ex accurate exactly.

Speaker 13 (27:23):
Well know yet to how the guy that I essentially
growing up with our family is a superposed at this point.
As you mentioned, he went to IMG together and at
that time I was playing tackle, he was playing age.
So every day in practice we would do our one
on one rep. The two would go in and we
were all off to the side, and we would like,
really go over that rep right then and there then
even after practice. So him coming to bandon with me
as well, because I was at the Bemba first and

(27:44):
he was committed a different school, but he ended up flipping.
So him coming to the band with me that was
that was also so we could continue to push each
other and make each other great. So I'm very excited
for him and his family, and I'm very proud of
both of us for going to IMG, being that bandin
now hearing our name called on Thursday.

Speaker 7 (28:00):
I love that.

Speaker 9 (28:00):
Man.

Speaker 4 (28:01):
You've spent a lot of time in Alabama.

Speaker 1 (28:03):
To your point, you've been around two different leadership styles, right,
Nick Saban Jamie knows extremely well. And then kaitlynd Bor,
who I got to know at this time at Washington,
was just down in tusclose about a month ago. And
just watching how he's put his stamp on the culture.
Both leaders different styles. What have you learn from both
of those legendary head coaches?

Speaker 13 (28:20):
So man, like you said, like two different styles, two
different coaches, and I learned a lot from both of them.
One thing that I've learned from past saving is like
how we haven't broken down into a science like Coach Saving.
He he he's the same thing at the same time
every day. We had the same pregame meal for the
past thirty years. Probably my uncle played for him back
when he was at Michigan State. It was the same thing.

(28:41):
So he had success, broke it down to a science,
and he's going to put you in situations for success,
just like Coach the Bord does. But the thing about him,
he I think he lets us be ourselves a bit
more like he like whatever works for you guys. That's
one thing that always came out of his mouth, like
whatever works for you guys, whatever you guys need, And
that's what I really appreciate about him. And something else
I appreciate about Coach the Bord is how he never

(29:02):
ever tried to come in and be pot saving. He
was always authentically and truly himself since day one. So
any recruits listening, that's to god, bamn hasn't changed. We're
gonna be back on.

Speaker 10 (29:11):
Top, Tyler, Tony Jefferson safety for the Chargers.

Speaker 9 (29:15):
Going on, bro, what's going on? How we're doing? Hey?

Speaker 10 (29:18):
In past interviews, you've mentioned your why it's like your
immediate family. Can you tell us more about them than
the ways which they've supported you up to this point?

Speaker 13 (29:28):
Yeah, my family, that's that's my rock. Like good days,
bad days, okay days. I'm always calling my mom and
my dad. They've always been there for me, my sister
which I call my second mom, my younger brother, and
my girl Kline.

Speaker 9 (29:42):
So like every like we have a very tight knit family.

Speaker 13 (29:45):
Like they've made sacrifices for me since middle school, since
my mom.

Speaker 9 (29:50):
Since middle school.

Speaker 13 (29:51):
I had to wait at backt five o'clock in the morning,
catched two buses just to get on the bus, my
mom had to change her work schedule, my dad working
third shift, having to get off work, take me the workouts,
and then my siblings having to sit in the car
the whole time.

Speaker 9 (30:02):
But they've been enjoying a lot, specially Mason.

Speaker 13 (30:05):
Like Mason d he lived the best like out of
any thirteen year old ever, Like he's so. I brought
on the cracks with me one day during the summer
and I said, stay in my sideline. I couldn't see
I couldn't find him, Like, where's Mason, Where's Mason. He's
over there throwing the ball around with Jaana Luro and
I love that. Yeah, he's living the best life out
of ny thirteen year old. But my family's watching my

(30:25):
rock and I'm excited to give in the world.

Speaker 2 (30:27):
Tyler.

Speaker 3 (30:28):
I know this won't be hard for you to do,
but please try to speak as highly and with as
much love as you just did for your family, for
the new couple of editions that you added to your
family in February.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
And I'm talking about your pet turtles.

Speaker 3 (30:41):
What's going on with the new teammates of your your children?

Speaker 2 (30:44):
Your kids?

Speaker 9 (30:45):
Yeah, those are my two babies.

Speaker 13 (30:46):
So I was I was rolling on TikTok one night
and I was just I saw a video of a turtle.
I was like, man, I want to turn It's a
low maintenance animal and then you can see him grow.
And then especially during combine training, you get home, you
watch all your family, study your family, all your stretch
being just there by yourself.

Speaker 9 (31:04):
I mean, I'm gonna get some turtles.

Speaker 13 (31:06):
So weekend in February, I went to the local paestore
in Dallas where I was, and I bought to Albino
readier sliders. So I bought Trina. Trina is still with
us today. She's doing really well. But when we bought him,
he was sick and we didn't want to leave him
in there by himself just to pass away by himself.
So like now we're gonna take turn down to Trina. Unfortunately,

(31:28):
Turk passed away last week, but I'm very thankful for
the memories that we have. But Trina's still going strong.
She's over there swimming right now.

Speaker 8 (31:35):
Trina Tyler, So you're gonna be in Green Bay? How
are you feeling? And most importantly, can we get a hit.

Speaker 4 (31:43):
On your offree?

Speaker 8 (31:43):
Like, what's the swag going to be like for that day?

Speaker 7 (31:46):
Oh?

Speaker 9 (31:46):
Man, I can't let y'all do that. I see it
on the day it's gonna be.

Speaker 13 (31:51):
It's gonna be very fly, very fly, very very mature.
See y'all see y'all see the media day outfit will
be something Okay.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
He said, very mature because He's also trying to have
his outfit parallel what he's going to bring to a
locker room and an organization and a building.

Speaker 4 (32:05):
I saw a cowboy hat. I don't know what that.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
Oh, what does it all mean? What does it all mean?
Does Trina?

Speaker 3 (32:12):
Can Trina survive outside her tank for long enough? Shes
gona be in your little pocket during the draft? Or
how are we going to do that with little turtles?

Speaker 9 (32:18):
She's still too young, okay, but she'll be I'll bring
it to the games with me.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
She's gonna come to the games with you.

Speaker 13 (32:25):
She'll she'll be opened up by then. I can just
leave run a little portable team. She'll be all right,
let's go pre game walk.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
Yes, Tyler, what about your youth camp? Then you want
to tell us about how you impact your community?

Speaker 9 (32:38):
Oh?

Speaker 13 (32:38):
Yeah, So I'm very big on giving back to the community,
just because I've been blessed by so many community figures
in my life to him to get to where I am.

Speaker 9 (32:44):
So every year I hold the Tyler brook A football camp.

Speaker 13 (32:47):
We get out there, we get the kids together, We
put up through a lot of fragility drills and then
a lot of position specific drills, and then Most of all,
I just want to see the kids compete and I
the main is this for the campus. For the kids
to see me, interact with me and understand and believe that,
like man, this to be me, and I'm just in
part of wisdom on them the whole day, because you
can only want to be what you see. So if

(33:10):
they don't see, if they don't see like the just
ther first round paid lord willin the Alabama Captain in
their face, like what makes them think that they're going
to be able to do the same thing. So it's
very powerful to see somebody from your community who's in
the same position as you do super successful things.

Speaker 9 (33:27):
Like for me that was three Black.

Speaker 13 (33:29):
I believe he's with the Dolphin and he's a wide
Sea Brad Michigan and be transfer to Texas. So me,
I'm having a great relationship with him like that made
me believe that I can do it again due to
his inspiration.

Speaker 9 (33:41):
I'm here right now, Tyler.

Speaker 3 (33:43):
We're going to pile it on. We're very impressed with you.
You're an awesome young man. We wish you the best.
We can't wait to see who you're playing for in
the fall.

Speaker 9 (33:50):
Thank you so much. I appreciate you guys. You have
a good one.

Speaker 3 (33:52):
Absolutely, Tyler, Booker, everybody and Turk and Trina as well,
who will be at the games for the NFL first turtle.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
On the red carpet. I have to imagine
