be on our show one other time? And I feel
like they just made it up to get me excited.
He didn't show up for whatever reason.

twenty twenty five NFL Draft.

Speaker 5 (01:32):
Guys.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
That's it.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
That is the constructed stage which sits about I don't know,
two hundred yards from Lambeau. We're looking right at the
stadium across the parking lot. The seats will be filled,
the areas are assigned for the different fans for the teams.
That will be every single team represented here, and thirty
two guys tonight will find out their fate in the NFL. Kyle,
Tom Jamie, this is a great day, everybody. My first

(01:55):
NFL draft, my first I've never been to an NFL draft.

Speaker 5 (01:59):
Wow, this is really cool.

Speaker 7 (02:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
I had no concept that this was you know, we
had Sean Jones on last hour, or that this was
truly a fan experience.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
It's like an off season game. It's perfect and grease.

Speaker 6 (02:08):
It's a show a ton too.

Speaker 8 (02:10):
I mean even say so since the day's the first
one was that was one in Chicago, very first time
I went out in twenty sixteen.

Speaker 6 (02:15):
They were out in the park on Saturday.

Speaker 8 (02:17):
But that was the first time that they had been
like it was all kinds of a conflict that radio's
any music all. Then they were like, wait, we can
bring this all around the country.

Speaker 5 (02:24):
Let's go to experience.

Speaker 6 (02:25):
Yeah, let's do it.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
It's perfect.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Well, greatness is on the clock is happening the first
round of tonight, and we will be on GMFB right
here in this set tomorrow to recap everything. But before
the chaos actually happens, tom please continue to set the
stage for us, because you said something great to us
last hour, which is like, there might be a couple
picks that are guarantees here, but after that we got
some chaos.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
That could occur.

Speaker 8 (02:45):
It's as hard to predict as any NFL draft that
I can remember, not just for me, but talking to
people around the league who every building.

Speaker 6 (02:51):
This is part of what you do. It's you're doing
mock drafts.

Speaker 8 (02:54):
You figure out where the runs on different positions might
be Okay, if we want to make sure we don't
miss out on this guy, where do we have to
get to do we have to leap frog that team
this draft because you have a shorter list of the
tree through blue chip type players, then you got this
huge group of guys who are all graded pretty similarly.
As one executive told me recently, there's not a lot
of difference between the guy who's going to go at
ten and at forty, So you could have some maneuvering here.

(03:16):
There's not a ton right now turns to trade action,
though certainly the Jaguars are one team that's been calling around.
The Browns have been fielding calls, so have the Giants.

Speaker 6 (03:25):
The Panthers have.

Speaker 8 (03:25):
Been making calls about potentially moving down in the draft.
But a lot of this guys is going to have
to play out on the clock before we actually know
what directions things go. And then, obviously, the quarterbacks are
always a big part of the storyline in every NFL draft.
The pnjumption number one pick is cam Ward from Miami
to the Tennessee Titans. After that, there's just not a
clear consensus within the league about what order the next

(03:48):
several guys go Obviously, we've talked a ton about Shador Sanders.
Could be in play for the Giant to three. They've
done a ton of homework on him. Could be in
play for the Steelers at twenty one if those two
teams don't take him. I'm not sure sitting here right
now where he would go. And about half the league,
to give you a arreestmate, would say Jackson Dart could
be the second quarterback to come off the board. That's

(04:09):
part of the drama. We've got Jalen Milroe. Another quarterback
is in the green room tonight. Tyler Shuck from Louisville's
another quarterback. You could hear it called sooner than later.

Speaker 6 (04:16):
Here. It is going to be fun. It is going
to be unpredictable.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Fifteen prospects are in town to sit in the green
room tonight. Can I just make an editorial observation on
the picks one through ten that we keep showing on GMFP.
This is about the future, the guys that are going
to change the organization. It's a little depressing to see
the records listed next to the one through ten. I
don't need to remember that the Titans.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
Went a great call from games that were played six
months ago.

Speaker 6 (04:41):
Why are we showing the record.

Speaker 8 (04:42):
If no one shows reminding you how much work all
these teams had to know. This might have been the
first time you had ten twelve lost teams.

Speaker 6 (04:49):
It's a singlass season.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Night is about optimism and hope and turning the page.
I don't need to remember that the Bears lost ten
games in a row last year to get the ten picks.

Speaker 5 (04:58):
Guys, what are we doing.

Speaker 6 (04:59):
If your team went four to thirteen?

Speaker 5 (05:00):
There we go ve action like magic, it went away?

Speaker 1 (05:04):
What the healf of it?

Speaker 3 (05:05):
If that future is here? Okay, we are forgetting.

Speaker 6 (05:08):
What some smiling face.

Speaker 8 (05:10):
Instead everybody's smiling tonight until you're four and thirteen. Team
from a year ago drafts a guard and you're going,
what's that gonna do?

Speaker 5 (05:18):
And he's a really good Hall of famer hall of.

Speaker 6 (05:20):
Famer, but it's not excited. You can't drafts oh Man.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
This is all part of that dead one through thirty
two is happening on the stage behind us tonight, Kyle.
We keep talking about the players, and the players and
the names are what's important. But do you have a
team that you're really looking at that you are fascinated by?
Like what you know, because you said it last week.
I think what if the Cowboys pictured or Sanders and
like that, really, like what are the Cowboys gonna do?
Is there a team that you are specifically focused on?

Speaker 1 (05:45):
Well, listen, I got I keep getting interested because Tom
said a couple of times today that Cleveland is taking calls,
and of course they're taking calls.

Speaker 5 (05:52):
They're sitting there at two.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
But Cleveland doesn't really have a quarterback, not really, like
if they if they take Travis Hunter, you're gonna go
into the season with like picket and flat, like what
are we doing here?

Speaker 5 (06:04):
So I'm like, Cleveland, you need a quarterback, but they
love Hunters so much? Would they trade?

Speaker 9 (06:09):
Like?

Speaker 5 (06:09):
I would only go back to.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Tom because one of these things that people have been
talking about for weeks are but the hou's going on
with no trades, like we usually have trades in place
by Now, what is the rhyme or reason that there
are no first round trades whatsoever?

Speaker 5 (06:21):
And we have the draft in a few hours.

Speaker 6 (06:23):
What's the twofold one of them? Is there weren't first
round picks.

Speaker 8 (06:25):
Obviously the change hands in last year's draft, and a
lot of times those first rounders that get traded. Those
occurred either in last year's draft or somebody making a
move over the summer. There were a bunch of guys
traded for second round picks in this offseason, including DK Metcalf.
Nobody traded a one. And then you've just got the
reality that, again there's such a small group of those
blue chip players. The teams at the top of the
draft don't want to move out of those players, and

(06:46):
the teams that are below are going, well, if we
can't get one of those guys, will this wait and
see who falls to us here Again, I'd say unlikely
that the Browns trade the number two overall pick. That's
how it's been described to me. But if there is
a godfather type offer out there, not a lot of
things in the NFL don't have a price. If somebody
offers them three first round picks, two first round picks,
a player at a first round pick, it's not.

Speaker 6 (07:08):
That then't you at least have to consider it.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
Essentially, if someone is so obsessed in love with Travis
Hunter that they want to do anything that they can
to get them, and they send the Browns everything like, fine,
take them and we'll own your pick for the next
couple of years, and.

Speaker 8 (07:19):
Let's say the Browns, then if they don't think that
the quarterbacks in this year's draft are worth taking the
number two, maybe the quarterbacks are in twenty twenty six.
Maybe they win eight games next year and they need
that ammal to go up and move up for a quarterback.
These are all like the long term team building types
of things that we talk about here. That's why it's
complicated when you get right down to it. I do
think for me, the fascinating teams will be number one,

(07:39):
the Jaguars at five, because they have been making calls bakers.
I would think they're going to get another weapon. I
would think they're going to go offense and give another
weapon for Trevor Lawrence, whether that is Ashton genty, whether
that potentially would be even Tedderoo McMillan. I think the
Steelers are fascinating because you could be sitting there and
this could be twenty five twenty years ago in that
building right there. When Ted Thompson once told me that

(08:00):
the night before the draft he saw a mock draft
that had Aaron Rodgers sliding. I hadn't really even watched
tape on Aaron Rodgers because He just assumed he was
going to be long gone. So he went through and
watched all the tape again based on the mock drafts
that he was seeing, just for the possibility. Sure enough,
the guy slides, they end up with a Hall of
Fame type quarterback. The Steelers can be sitting there at
twenty one this year and all those other quarterbacks are fallowing.

Speaker 6 (08:22):
Is there an Aaron Rodgers in this group?

Speaker 8 (08:23):
History would say probably not, but maybe just maybe that
franchise quarterback.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
And this is why you're good.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
That's a great story and that's a good reference point
to why we're here in Green Bay.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Kyle.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
I know one of the most important things to you
in life is when there is a historical misconception, you
always want to correct that.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
You want to write that wrong.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
And many people are saying that this is Wisconsin's first
NFL draft, But you have something to say about that.

Speaker 5 (08:48):
Would you like to go on a journey with me
back in the time exactly?

Speaker 1 (08:50):
This is the first draft in Green Bay, This, my friends,
is not the first ever draft in the wonderful state
of Wisconsin, America's dairy land. The nineteen forty NFL draft
took place in Mowaukee, and we're going to examine what
happened there.

Speaker 5 (09:07):
We're at Lambeau.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Now, let's go to Milwaukee to a place called the
Schroeder Hotel.

Speaker 5 (09:12):
The Schroder Hotel which opened in nineteen twenty eight.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
What we're looking at here is actually a ballroom called
the Empire Room. That's John Fitzgerald Kennedy on the bottom
left having the function there. You might remember him. That's
the room where it took place. Beautiful chandeliers, and it
was weird because it took place before the title game.
It'd be like imagine now if you had the draft
before the Super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (09:33):
Very unusual.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
But I cannot wait to share with you as we
get ready for cam Ward and Travis Hunter, who some
of these players were. The first overall pick in the
nineteen forty NFL draft was out of Tennessee a full
back named George Cafego, and there he is number five.
Let me give you the listings on cafe Go five ten,
one hundred and sixty nine pounds, first overall pick. Tom

(09:56):
you think that the team was excited to draft them.

Speaker 6 (09:58):
They couldn't say a full back.

Speaker 5 (10:00):
It was the full back four. The Chicago Cardinals.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
They took Cafe Go off the board another pick number
two overall in nineteen forty halfback George McAfee. I don't
think it was Pat's grandfather. I don't know if there's
any relation there.

Speaker 6 (10:14):
No, that's Cafe Go.

Speaker 5 (10:16):
Maybe they missed there.

Speaker 6 (10:18):
We go give me McAfee, all right.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
He was nicknamed one play because he was likely to
go all the way every time he touched the ball.

Speaker 6 (10:26):
Those jacket seed to come back in the pants.

Speaker 5 (10:28):
Give me the jacket, the pants. You know where that is.
That's Wrigley Field.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
The Friendly confines this guy was out of Duke McAfee
and George Hallis traded three.

Speaker 5 (10:36):
Linemen to the Eagles to get him. Next urd overall
pick the Steelers.

Speaker 6 (10:41):
Steelers.

Speaker 5 (10:42):
Maybe they'll take Sudor Sanders tonight.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
Back then they took kay Eakin, the big The only
photo we have is kay Echan. This isn't him registering
for the US Army. Yes, we don't even have a
football a picture of him playing football. This is him
registering for I'm looking at the beautiful hat on that
woman too.

Speaker 6 (10:59):
That is a classy hat, and.

Speaker 5 (11:01):
That is the Steelers number.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
So you're saying those are cards, perhaps for the US
Army and not for the NFL drafts.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
This is a draft to take up all foreign enemies. Next,
all right, this is the best. I cannot tell you
how great this is. Gonna be real name, real person.
Seventh overall. Pick to the Bears. They take Bulldog Turner.
Bring up the picture.

Speaker 5 (11:21):
Of Bulldog Turner.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Wait, yeah, no, bulldog damn Turner. No, all right, there's spurs, chaps.
And you think we only have one picture of bulldog?
Bring up the next picture of bulldog out of Hardened
Simmons University.

Speaker 5 (11:37):
Yeah, bulldog, let's.

Speaker 8 (11:39):
Go remember sixty nine caring that calf over his shoulders
and fighting down on those wooden tea.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
Well, that's your Halloween costume.

Speaker 5 (11:46):
Next year, Bulldog Turner, and I'll have a real cow.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
All right?

Speaker 5 (11:50):
He was?

Speaker 1 (11:50):
This is this is one of two Pro football Hall
of famers select the nineteen forty NFL draft.

Speaker 5 (11:54):
That's a hall of famer right there.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
Only with number two offerall pick McAfee, Bulldog Turner.

Speaker 5 (11:59):
They're like, we have to have this guy. I think
this is him working out.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
You know, you see these viral videos of guys working
out in the woods. Yeah, Quinn Minors This is Bulldog
Turner working out next. If you think that's the best
name in the draft. Eleventh overall picked to Chicago Cardinals.
Snuffy Sternwis goes number eleven. What's up, Snuffy? And why
we're showing a baseball player because he never played an
NFL down he signed with the Yankees. That's Snuffy number

(12:24):
eleven overall pick out a UNC North.

Speaker 5 (12:26):
Carolina like Drake may like. That's yes, Belichick.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
Would have paid big money to get Stuffy Sternwiss at eleven,
and guys, all it all came out to the nineteen
forty NFL champions, the Bears.

Speaker 5 (12:38):
They went on to win that championship, which was played
right there.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
Second overall pick George McAfee, who he showed earlier, scored
on a thirty four yard pick six, and they won
seventy three to nothing. Not a lot of team speed
in that picture. The game's changed a lot, but they
were gritty up fronts. And this was all way way
back in this beautiful state of Wisconsin, not Green Bay,
but Milwaukee. One more time, folks at the Schroeder Hotel.

(13:05):
And when we go out, can we maybe end the segment,
if not the show permanently with the walk off of
Bulldog Turner just is that the best thing you've ever
seen that was a professional athlete?

Speaker 2 (13:17):
While the animal over his shoulder is epic and I
do think that. I think the photo before that with
the s and the child.

Speaker 8 (13:25):
He looks like he's remember of sometime of a cowboys
circus in that photo.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
Yeah, what'd you say?

Speaker 5 (13:30):
Bring it up?

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Here? We go? Right?

Speaker 6 (13:32):
What's up?

Speaker 5 (13:32):
Bulldog?

Speaker 1 (13:33):
He looks like he's loving life too, like he is
having the best time ever. Bulldog. We love you, wish
to get have you on the show. But that is
my Halloween cost of twenty twenty five. Don't steal it.

Speaker 5 (13:44):
Yeah, I got it.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
That cows a little trigger and I don't know if he's.

Speaker 6 (13:47):
Like you or she's like you.

Speaker 5 (13:48):
Totally is wow.

Speaker 10 (13:53):
My favorite player in this year's draft is named Cameron Scataboo.
He's a Peyton Hillis's nothing like Peyton If I don't
want to hear that Kam Skataboo is the son of
a coach, because he is not.

Speaker 5 (14:05):
His dad works in pest control.

Speaker 6 (14:07):
Pests controlled spray them. There's mister contact balance a game.

Speaker 1 (14:11):
Staboo not skeatu Bo Scataboo.

Speaker 5 (14:14):
It doesn't make.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
Sense, but that's why I like it. My opinion, that's
the best player in the draft. I think he's going
because they're gonna draft him number one, or they should.

Speaker 6 (14:22):
He has one pant leg down the left side, and.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Then he's wearing Daisy Dukes on the right side, like Scataboo.

Speaker 6 (14:28):
What is that?

Speaker 4 (14:29):
What are you?

Speaker 6 (14:30):
I'll tell you what he is.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
He is a sun Devil legend and I think the
number one most likely guy to get a scepter next year.
I love camp Scataboo. What do you want me to say?
I think he's my favorite player of all time. Walter
Payton had a great run. I love you, Walter. I
think it's now the guy we are having on the show.

Speaker 5 (14:51):
I'm giddy like a little boy.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
Ever seen you like this?

Speaker 5 (14:54):
Arizona State running back Camp Scattaboo.

Speaker 4 (14:57):
Dude?

Speaker 5 (14:57):
What's up?

Speaker 9 (14:58):
How's it going? Man? How's it going? Thanks? Thanks for
having me.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
It's going pretty damn well.

Speaker 5 (15:05):
Cam as you saw listen, cards on the table. Huge
fan of yours.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
You are everything I love about football and the way
you play and the way you run.

Speaker 5 (15:13):
How's life right now?

Speaker 4 (15:14):
Man?

Speaker 5 (15:14):
You're about to be drafted.

Speaker 9 (15:15):
How are you feeling, Yeah, I'm feeling good.

Speaker 11 (15:19):
I'm a little overwhelmed, a little stressed out, but majority
of the fact that I don't know where I'm going
to be at and you know, a week from now,
and but you know, I'm excited for the future and
I can't wait to see where I end up.

Speaker 9 (15:30):
And you know who takes a chance on.

Speaker 8 (15:32):
Mekam Kyle just likes to show you bulldozing people because
he's got this gigantic man crush on. Just your physical ability,
your running style. But you can catch, you can throw
a little bit. Just tell me about your your game
and your versatility.

Speaker 11 (15:48):
Yeah, I mean I was from a young age. I
was playing every position I possibly can. I was playing quarterback,
I was playing receiver. You know, I was playing defense.
So I was used in a lot of ways as
a kid, and I knew that I had to do
it all. So my dad did a good job of
moving me around and making sure that I did multiple
things and I wasn't just a one asset player.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Can you seem like a likable guy, But you have
been featured now on an Angry Runs watch list? Yeah,
are you ever an angry person?

Speaker 9 (16:21):
I'm not anymore.

Speaker 11 (16:23):
When I was younger, Yes, a little bit, but you know,
I'm very calm and relax now.

Speaker 9 (16:27):
You know, I have a good time.

Speaker 11 (16:28):
I get a little angry on the golf course, but
that's about it.

Speaker 6 (16:32):
We all do that cap that doesn't even count.

Speaker 8 (16:35):
You're allowed to have as much rain as you want
when you put another ball in the water on whole
number five. You had a repost recently off so that
you manifested back in twenty twenty one, you had said
three years, three hund and sixty days later, I pray
that this moment will happen. What are your emotions right
now knowing that you know, sometime in this next seventy
two hours here, you're going to be officially an NFL player.

Speaker 11 (16:58):
I mean, shoot, don't make me emotional. Huh. Yeah, it's
been it's been a long run. And you know, I've
looked back on this and you know, I didn't know
that was going to be four years from now. That
was something that you know, I posted and I prayed
that's it. And you know I worked obviously too, but
you know that's I look back at it, and you

(17:19):
know I saw it on my Twitter.

Speaker 9 (17:20):
And I was like, oh, that's a pretty cool that's
a pretty cool post.

Speaker 11 (17:23):
I posted that a couple of years ago, and you know,
I was like, I'm going to repost it and see
what happens. So I've been getting good feedback. It's been awesome.

Speaker 5 (17:33):
It's inspiring too.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
And there is really something about the way that you
play that I think fans just get crazy for. It's
it's old fashion, it's super physical. Give us the good stuff, Cam,
What goes What goes in your head when you're running
the ball, when you see someone's about to tackle you?

Speaker 5 (17:50):
What?

Speaker 1 (17:50):
What is this operation you have through by you run
over them? You run through them, You do it so beautifully.
How does it work for you?

Speaker 9 (17:57):
Yeah?

Speaker 11 (17:58):
So growing up it was I took my anger out
on the field. That was one thing I did, and
I had a good time. I had a fun time.

Speaker 9 (18:04):
I'm doing it.

Speaker 11 (18:06):
It was helpful that I played with five of my
best friends growing up from the age of six years
old all the way up until I was eighteen years old,
and just playing the sport for them and playing the sport,
you know, because I love it. And when you love
the sport, there's a certain trigger that happens in your
brain when you're on the field, and you could see

(18:26):
it in certain players and who really loves a game,
And you know, I just really I love playing football
and scoring a touchdown is the best feeling in the
world to me. So when I could do it, I'm
going to do it, and I'm going to do my
best to get to get to that point.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
So it's a great sentiment, Cam and we respect the
hell out of it, the fact that you just love
scoring the football and you have been able to channel
your emotions in a way that allows you to be
so productive on the football field. Now, the draft process
is crazy because as you leave college football, you have
fans that are tuning into the bowl games, for example,
and they fall in love with players. I actually think
that is what happened to Calibrady's watching you in your final.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
Season Arizona State.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
He sees you in the Peach Bowl popping off two
hundred and eighty four all purpose yards.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
But in fact, it may not.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
Have been the moment that Kyle brandt truly fell in
love with you. It may have been the fact that
you act on the sideline.

Speaker 3 (19:13):
It's so hard what happened that day?

Speaker 11 (19:16):
Yeah, so earlier in the morning, I had eaten an
omelet that just wasn't sitting right in my stomach. And
then I think we went on a seven play drive
where I touched the ball all seven times and it
was run after run after run.

Speaker 9 (19:31):
And later that.

Speaker 11 (19:33):
Drive I was like, coach, I got to I'm about
to pew, you know, and my trainer runs over. He
gives me a thumbs up, because you know, we're super close.
He gives me a thumbs up. Are you good? I'm good,
You're good. And then he takes off, and everyone else
is so worried about me, and I'm like, just let
me throw up, let me get off, let me get
this out. I promise I'll be okay when I'm done.
So once I was able to get that out, it

(19:53):
just felt so much better, and I was kind of
finally relaxed to be able to, you know, just play ball.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
I want that guy in my team. You know, that's
knowing your body, that's normality to do. Yeah, But Josh
Allen throws up before every single game. He talks about
cam a couple of housekeeping things. I want to make
sure we know about you before we have to stop talking,
which I hope we never do. I mentioned when I
did the Anger Runs watch list, we showed a shot
of you, and I call them hot pants.

Speaker 5 (20:21):
Dude.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
Your your pants were so high above your knee and
then you had a sleeve going down one leg.

Speaker 5 (20:26):
Like, what was that choice? What was that fashion choice?

Speaker 11 (20:31):
I won't say any specifics due to branding, but the
pants I didn't feel comfortable.

Speaker 9 (20:37):
They didn't fit for perfect on my body style.

Speaker 11 (20:40):
Sure, they were super tight, you know, very knee constricting
when I when I would run, so I tried to
pull them up as high as I can so that
that was not a factor.

Speaker 9 (20:49):
The sleeve was kind of just an extra fact for me.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
You know what, It works too, and I think you're
not the only sun Devil who's doing it too. I
actually like the look it works. I don't know if
it's gonna work on Sundays. They'll get you pants that fit,
but you still ran like you always do. My other question,
I want I see a lot of people calling you
Cam Scatabo, and it does look like scatabo s K
A T T E b oh, but it's scataboo.

Speaker 5 (21:11):
How did we land on Scataboo?

Speaker 11 (21:15):
I mean, realistically, that's just how it's been in my
whole life.

Speaker 9 (21:17):
I don't really know exactly.

Speaker 11 (21:19):
I know my name is originated out of Norway and
they pronounced it a whole different way. So I'm guessing
when people came to the US and decided to, you know,
change it to what the US people will speak and
like normally.

Speaker 9 (21:35):
And I'm guessing it just turned to that somehow.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
You know who also has Nordic backgrounds, or the Minnesota Vikings.
Maybe you can be running out of the backfield for
them in Purple.

Speaker 3 (21:46):
It'd be a beautiful site.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
I'm sure the fans on the other state line would
appreciate that so much.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
Cam a quick question, where where are you right now?

Speaker 2 (21:52):
I'm seeing a velvet couch and there's a photo behind you.

Speaker 3 (21:55):
Just what's your life right now? What room are you in?

Speaker 4 (21:58):
So?

Speaker 11 (21:59):
I'm in my best friend's father's house. This is a
place where you know, I come to hang out and
have a good time and you know, really relieve my stress.
I wish I could show you, guys. I'm actually gonna
show you guys. This is actually yes, So it's what
do you got for the draft party?

Speaker 6 (22:16):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (22:16):
Yeah, this is awesome. This is going to be the party.

Speaker 9 (22:20):
So this is a setup for the draft party. Yep, Oh,
that's so cool.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
I don't think we've ever seen like this is what
the setup looks like before the draft party.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
Yeah, I can't believe he has a camera in my
room at home and look at that.

Speaker 8 (22:35):
Who else coming cam? Who's gonna be there?

Speaker 4 (22:38):
What are you?

Speaker 6 (22:38):
What are you serving? You're catering it? What's the setup?

Speaker 9 (22:41):
Family? Friends?

Speaker 11 (22:42):
You know, people that I haven't seen in a long time,
that you know, I was really good friends with back
in the day, and you know, I was blessed to
be able to use this house. So you know, my
best friend's dad has invited some of his family also
that I've been getting closer with, and we're just gonna
hang out here and have a good time.

Speaker 1 (22:59):
You know.

Speaker 11 (22:59):
It's it's you never know what name is going to
be called, so we're gonna have a good time until
that phone rings.

Speaker 3 (23:06):
It's really cool, dude.

Speaker 5 (23:07):
I love it. I love that you came on the show.
I got to end with this.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
For years now on Good Morning Football, I have become
a curator of guys who run angry and I hand
out scepters and shirts and it's just really a big
part of what we do. You are all over that list,
and you have all the goods to win Angry Runs
multiple times over what I hope is a very long
and productive NFL career.

Speaker 5 (23:29):
We got our eye on you, dude.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
I am so excited you're going to be part of this,
and I hope I can send you a scepter in
your rookie year.

Speaker 9 (23:36):
Yes, sir, appreciate it.

Speaker 11 (23:37):
I got a T shirt for you too, an Angry
Runs T shirt that will get sent over to you.

Speaker 5 (23:42):
You have one for me, I'm supposed to send them
to you.

Speaker 6 (23:43):
You have one for me?

Speaker 5 (23:45):
I do?

Speaker 11 (23:46):
I have a I have a one of my good
partners that I work with made a T shirt and
Angry Runs T shirt for you, so we'll get it
over to you.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
Let's go scout about here.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
Okay, everything, he's dropping coffee.

Speaker 8 (24:08):
He's not gonna get any better, Kyle go home and.

Speaker 6 (24:12):
Nothing.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
As we like to say, we're staying Camp Scataboo Draft
party at the at the Scattaboo friend's house.

Speaker 3 (24:20):
Look at that. That's an awesome setup.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
Congratulations Arizona say Sun double running back.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
Kyle's gone, He's out.

Speaker 7 (24:30):
Tonight. I helped to oversee all of our card table operations.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
Here we lay out in alphabetical order, who we expect
to be the picks that will be happening earlier on
in the night.

Speaker 7 (24:41):
We printed out about two hundred, but we'll print out
more tomorrow, and we'll keep going as the rounds progress.

Speaker 3 (24:46):
We look at all of the mock drafts.

Speaker 7 (24:48):
Basically just a file who we should be printing out
in advance.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
Of course, there's always some surprises, so we can never
be super sure.

Speaker 5 (24:57):
This is fascinating and this is so fun.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
So we're here in Green Bay at the draft, and
you know, tonight Commissioner Goodell will read the thirty two cards.
He comes out and says, with the number one pick,
the Tennessee Titans.

Speaker 4 (25:07):
Select.

Speaker 5 (25:08):
Where do those cards come from? How are they made?

Speaker 1 (25:11):
What is the process by they by which they get
to his hand and to the fans? Well, we know
that and we're going to find out right now a
lot more about it.

Speaker 5 (25:20):
Let's welcome and thank you Tom.

Speaker 6 (25:21):
What's what is Tom doing? Thank you?

Speaker 5 (25:23):
He's looking out for me, all right? And this is
starting to.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
The NFL's manager of broadcasting, Lucy Popco.

Speaker 5 (25:31):
Lucy's here, Lucy, how you doing?

Speaker 3 (25:33):
Hello?

Speaker 7 (25:34):
How are you guys?

Speaker 1 (25:36):
I'm so excited to talk to you because we love
the Are you behind the draft tell us.

Speaker 3 (25:42):
Right behind, I can hear you, Kyle, I am.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
Oh no, from there, Yeah, they can hear me in Chicago,
I think. All right, So Lucy tell us, I'm so
excited about Cam. But I also am excited about the
cards because I've been back there, I've been part of this.
We'll get to that in a second. First, tell people
at home exactly what you do and what your process is.

Speaker 9 (26:03):
Awesome.

Speaker 7 (26:04):
So on draft night, I am listening in here the
pick come in live. We have all of the cards
already printed with the name of the prospect and his
position in his school.

Speaker 3 (26:16):
Here's one right here one.

Speaker 7 (26:17):
We're all probably see what position he gets drafted as.
And we have a couple of variations for Travis in
particular already printed. But what we do is write that
pick number in and then the team that selects him.
So in that matter of you know, thirty seconds that
we hear that, we're ready it down quickly, we grab
the commissioner and we do a quick, you know, pronunciation

(26:40):
walk through, make sure he knows what he needs to
stay out in the stage, and then he walks out.
So all this is happening in a matter of usually
a couple of minutes. It is quick, very fast paced backstage,
so we have to make sure we're paying attention and
everything is moving on time because it's live TV. Don't
want to get backed up in all our picks.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
Mm hmm. Now listen, Lucy.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
We have a lot of friends of the show, but
perhaps our number one front of the show, of course,
is Roger Goodell.

Speaker 3 (27:08):
Now we know the.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
Commissioner well enough to know that he wants to make
sure he has the pronunciations down pat how do you
go about preparing him for that? And are there any
flags going up for you in the next couple of
days where you want to make sure that he has
it down right?

Speaker 7 (27:23):
Yep. So the process actually starts a few months out
at Combine. So at Combine, I use my phone and
I go up to all our top prospects and I
ask them to say your name like you like the
commissioner to say it at draft, and so I record
that and I create an audio guide for him, and
especially in his fleet up to draft, he's going through

(27:44):
listening to those names. We have a few one on
one sit downs to just talk about it and make
sure he is comfortable with all those prospects. And then
that guide's also super helpful for me because I listened
to it, make sure I know it, especially as quick. Backstage,
we want to make sure we have everything as perfect
as it can be.

Speaker 6 (28:03):
So we saw that Roger Goodell.

Speaker 8 (28:05):
You got all kinds of former players and celebrities backstage
because they're coming out and they're reading picks, and sometimes
they talk for an hour and sometimes it's like five seconds.
The ga Quays read the name because they didn't have
their glasses. Do you remember one are of your favorite
stories from backstage?

Speaker 9 (28:22):
Absolutely so.

Speaker 7 (28:23):
Last year, at least in Detroit, it was incredible backstage
before draft even started. We had a ton of Detroit
legends and players. We had Jared Goff backstage, we had
Aiden Hutchins that made Barry Sanders, and then of course
we rolled in Eminem. It was incredible to be back
there because there was all these guys that are so
insanely good at football, but then also someone like Eminem

(28:46):
who everyone knows his songs.

Speaker 9 (28:48):
It was crazy.

Speaker 7 (28:49):
And a few years back too, in Kansas City, right
off of the Chief super Bowl, we had Patrick Mahomes
back there, Travis Kelsey, they both were playing off each
other's energy, so hyped up to be there. So those
are the times I think I remember most just seeing
all these guys that either are coming off of huge
wins or are just absolute legends. You're just like, oh

(29:10):
my god, we're in the same space. You're about to
walk on the stage as a sweet.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
And you are a part of that. Lucy, you said
it so well.

Speaker 2 (29:16):
You have guys back there that are insanely good at football,
you have insanely talented artists that have connections to the city,
and then you have people that are just insane. Do
you remember Kyle Brandt's pick of the Buffalo Bills from
a couple of years back, and what he was like?

Speaker 3 (29:30):
Was he not wearing zubas He.

Speaker 7 (29:32):
Was wearing Zuba's pants, if I remember correctly, maybe a
bomber jacket.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
Oh, yup, yup, there he is.

Speaker 7 (29:38):
And I remember quite a few booze from backstage, so
I think we riled the crowd up.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
Listen, Lucy, I have to tell you right right, no,
I wanted all the booze, like I believe me. People
asked me what that was like out on the stage.
I was like, I've never seen so many middle fingers
in my life. It was like an ocean of them.
But that's what I was going for. But back to
you get backstage, though, I know, I just remember being

(30:08):
like really really nervous and you being a calming presence,
like in the storm back there, And specifically, I really
do think a lot of people who are going up
to do this are really worried about the pronunciation because
I'm just like, this is this, this person's like biggest
moment of their life. I don't want to mispronounce the name.
So I'm so nervous because you don't know what the
name is going to be until moments.

Speaker 5 (30:27):
Before you go out.

Speaker 1 (30:28):
So Lucy comes over, so she hands you the card
and I'm so nervous. It's going to be a name
I can't pronounce. And it's Terrell Bernard and I'm like,
I can handle Terrell Bernard. And I said to you,
I go, hold on, I go. I looked out, but
I said Tarall Owens changed Terrell and Tarrell back then,
is it not Terol Bernard And no, no, no, no no,
it's Terrell Bernard. And I was I was like from

(30:51):
then on. You set me at ease, and I was
so comfortable, So thank you so much.

Speaker 7 (30:55):
Of course, I think that's the biggest thing back here,
especially as we go on some later rounds in the
draft and we have legends, we have current players, and
then we also have fans that are making selections up
on stage. So my job is just to make sure
that everyone goes out there feels prepared and is ready
to go. So if I can be a calming presence,
that's that's my biggest goal back here.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
Lucy.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
That's absolutely what you are, Kyle. I feel like you
are so just excited to be here. I have a
job for you. Okay, and he died to detach your
thing again, go go meet Lucy, because Lucy, you're backstage, right,
could you practice, like, could you bring a card out
to our pretend commissioner. We're going to send scat Kyle
Scataboo up onto the stage because you are truly just
two hundred yards for us. We got Lambou two hundreds

(31:40):
this way, Lucy Popco. We're sending our commissioner back to you.
Can you come out and meet him, Lucy, so we
really know that you're back there. This is this is
this is live action practice of the NFL Draft.

Speaker 3 (31:51):
There's Lucy Popco with her official bringing her laptop with
her perfect. Oh, I've got the last with her official
credential honor.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
Kyle Scataboo is happy running onto the stage and and
he's gonna blow past the Oh no, there is a
security man approaching to Sicataboo. He gonna she's right there,
She's right there, Kyle, go find your girl.

Speaker 3 (32:14):
All right?

Speaker 2 (32:14):
Here she comes all right, and then Kyle Skataboo is
going to join right.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
We didn't. Okay, look at this.

Speaker 5 (32:21):
I have the Travis Hunter card, so I would go up.

Speaker 4 (32:25):
I say, I'm just gonna make it up because we
don't know.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
With the number two pick in the twenty twenty five
Medical Draft, the Cleveland Brown select Travis Hunter.

Speaker 4 (32:34):
Now this one says wide.

Speaker 3 (32:36):
Receiver, so that's the big question. What position will he be?

Speaker 4 (32:40):
You don't know, save first receiver, cornerback.

Speaker 3 (32:45):
I don't know. I get we'll have to see the night.

Speaker 9 (32:48):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 4 (32:50):
That's how you have tonight. It's just so fun. I'm
already calm being around you again.

Speaker 5 (32:54):
How to pronounce everything.

Speaker 8 (32:56):
She's one of the coolest parts of Hey steven five
feet to your right so we can see.

Speaker 5 (32:59):
It from up here.

Speaker 4 (33:00):
So you're on the show.

Speaker 5 (33:02):
We have the Travis Hunter card. Lucy me Jamie, we
did it.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
You did it, Kyle. Good practice. Not only is Kyle scataboo,
but he is also practicing the commissioner for GMFB. Lucy
popco everybody and Kyle Brandt the high five. He's got
to give the card back. The commissioner needs that card. Now,
she's got two different cards. By Lucy, you're awesome. She's
got two different cards with Tavis on her wide receiver
or cornerback. My gosh, now we have so many morek weds.

Speaker 8 (33:27):
What if it's wide receiver slash cornerbacks. She must have
a third card card or just use that marker.

Speaker 2 (33:32):
Kyle Scattaboo making his way back up there is Oh,
now he's walking back.

Speaker 3 (33:35):
He doesn't want to read her segment. Yeah, take your time, Kyle.
We got it.
