Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Good Morning Football.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Nick, it's our third day doing GMFB together.

Speaker 4 (00:27):
I just stress you out highly, Yeah, because I thought
I had said. I was like, wait, I'll think I have.
I don't think I said anything crazy.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Hold on, No, you did it.

Speaker 5 (00:37):
Nick.

Speaker 6 (00:37):
You have been on the show for is your third
full day.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
But you're gonna go back and play real.

Speaker 6 (00:41):
Football in the fall and a real team, which is wonderful.
But I said, are you ever coming to LA? And
what don't you tell me with the Colts?

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (00:47):
Yeah, we come to LA twice we play, we play
the when we play for the Rams and the Chargers
this year in LA.

Speaker 5 (00:53):
So it'll be a good time that kid.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
That doesn't happen very often.

Speaker 6 (00:57):
The fact that you come to town and play both
different conferences, different divisions. Hopefully they're back to back, and
then you can come back on GMFB in between those games.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Recommendations too, like where do you eat? You know?

Speaker 5 (01:06):
Yeah for sure, for sure, come blay some golf and
stuff like that. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:11):
Plus you've been doing the whole LA scene thing this week.
What did you get into last night in Los Angeles?

Speaker 4 (01:16):
Last night, I went to the Dodgers game and you know,
sitting there, oh.

Speaker 5 (01:24):
Me and that jersey.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
They decided to bless me with a jersey custom jersey.
So shout out the Dodgers for that. I really appreciate it.
Definitely a good Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:33):
That's awesome. It's all over the good Where gonna get
this footage from?

Speaker 6 (01:36):
Man, We listen, we watch and pay attention to what
our co hosts are doing. But we're just glad you've
been having a good time and the fact that you
don't hate us fully by making you get up at
three am.

Speaker 5 (01:46):
No, it's fine, it's fine. Welcome this morning at three am.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
Did a little you know, a little parody this morning,
so that'll come out soon.

Speaker 6 (01:53):
Really, Yeah, my gosh, you're just full of surprises. Useful energy,
I know, right, youthful energy. That's exactly right. Speaking of
youthful energy. Ian Rappaport, good morning to you. He is
our NFL network insider. What's going on in Miami these days?
And we were talking about the Dolphins yesterday. In fact,
now we got something going on with Tyreek Hill. What
does their GM Chris Greer have to deal with?

Speaker 7 (02:14):
Addressing yesterday's news surrounding Jalen Rams and the team moving
on from Jalen Rams. You're attempting to move on from
Jalen Ramsey via potential trade prior to her. During the
NFL Draft, Chris Greer, the general manager, talk to reporters
and of course, once again for about the fourth year
in a row, was asked about potentially trading Tyreek Hill.

Speaker 8 (02:32):
And if you follow Tyreek Hill on.

Speaker 7 (02:34):
Twitter or on any social media platform, you know why.
He's constantly teasing a potential trade, constantly teasing where he
may end up going. Then goes on Radio row for instance,
during the Super Bowl and says everything's fine, I'm not
getting traded, but then does it again. Chris Greer essentially said,
is there are no trade talks.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Surrounding Tyreek Hill.

Speaker 7 (02:52):
No one has reached out, They have not reached out
to anyone. That amounts to essentially a big nothing. What
he did say, though, was if someone wants to offer
two first rounders for Tyreek Hill, of course they would listen.
The reason he says that is because first of all,
almost no players are untradable. If you look at where
Tyreek is in his career, thirty one years old, doing
to make twenty seven point six million dollars. Hard to

(03:15):
imagine any team right now trading for that player coming
off risk surgery and that contract.

Speaker 5 (03:21):
I'm sure we're still.

Speaker 7 (03:22):
Going to talk about it, just seems highly unlikely. Meanwhile,
we'll turn our attention to the draft process and the
New York Giants pretty clear the draft starts, or at
least the most interesting part of the draft is number
three to the New York Giants. We told you earlier
in the week they're working out Shador Sanders this week.

Speaker 8 (03:39):
That is going to be tomorrow.

Speaker 7 (03:40):
He's not the only one, though, Tyler Shook from Louisville
also getting a Giants workout. And then Jalen Milroe, the
Alabama quarterback, one of the more interesting polarizing prospects in
the entire draft. Great athlete, did plenty of good things
at Alabama. Accuracy is a little bit of a question,
but the kind of athlete he is, no question, the

(04:01):
kind of leader he is, no question. The fact that
the Giants will work and it makes you think at
least they're considering if they don't take a quarterback at three,
potentially maybe coming back in the first round or sticking
there and taking Milroe at the top of two. You know,
some other teams haven't pegged right around there as well,
So we will see where Jalen Milroe, who is going
to be in Green Bay by the way going.

Speaker 6 (04:23):
Yeah, well, teams get to handle this process differently, and
but the Giants are under the due diligence category. My goodness,
we have not come up with the name that they
have not worked out, but they just want to make
sure they get the right guy early on rap sheet.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Thanks so much.

Speaker 6 (04:35):
We' talk to me a little bit. Eight days away
from the NFL Draft. Teams are preparing. Here we go.
You got the Titans there on the clock, Browns, Giants, Patriots,
Jaguars pending trades of course, which becomes a very fun
conversation the closer we get to the little.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Chimes that you hear in the NFL draft.

Speaker 6 (04:51):
We still are not sure which direction the Patriots will
be leaning towards their new head coach. Mike Brabil was
asked if the Patriots have gotten any calls from teams
trying to trade up for that number four pick.

Speaker 9 (05:03):
It's probably a little early for that, in my experience.
Probably a little early for those conversations. A lot of
those happen next week as we get a little closer
to the draft.

Speaker 5 (05:13):
I think there's still.

Speaker 9 (05:14):
Some prep and some some managing that goes on and
the coaches reports, and so it's probably a little early
for some of those conversations that happen, not quite yet.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Slow your role.

Speaker 6 (05:25):
If you want the Patriots for a pick. Why did
you chuckle when Brabel.

Speaker 10 (05:28):
Said that, Well, because he sees the what is it
the cut eye. He looked up real quick and looked
at the reporter, and I just laughed because anytime I
look at a Patriots press conference when it was coach
Belichick and now with Rabel, like, they always look seemed
like they were annoyed with every single question.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
So that's why it was funny.

Speaker 6 (05:46):
To be, well, it has to be not annoying, though
a happy experience. You have the number four overall pick,
they have a bit in the driver's seat when it comes
to a top five pick. How do you see the
shaking out for New England?

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Yeah, it depends who's there.

Speaker 10 (05:57):
You know, if Travis Hunter is there, I can see
them getting a weapon. Even though they just signed Stephan Diggs,
we don't know if he's one hundred now, even though
he's looking great in all his workouts. Also, you know
he loves pass rushers. They just brought over Harol Landry,
who he had in Tennessee. And you know, if Abdul
Carter is there, But it's ironic that they asked the
question if and was going to call up in trade,

(06:18):
because if neither one is there, then now we're definitely
entertain training out of there.

Speaker 5 (06:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (06:23):
I'll tell you what I played for Mike Rabel, and
I know how he's wired.

Speaker 8 (06:26):
I know how he wants to build this thing.

Speaker 11 (06:27):
I was there in Tennessee when he had to rebuild
over there in Tennessee, and he was a defensive lineman, right,
and he loves his defensive lineman. And if Abdul Carter
is there at four, if he gets past those first
three picks, I think Mike Rable might fly to Green.

Speaker 8 (06:39):
Bay and run the pick up himself.

Speaker 11 (06:41):
He wants to build this thing around a dominant pass rush,
play great defense. He wants a top five defense in
the NFL this year. That's what I brought in all
those defensive free agents, and I think that is the
guy that they have their eye on. I think he's
playing really coy about that. But if I know Mike Grabel,
I know he loves a dual carter. Now if a
duel carter is not there will entertained the trade that
could happen. Brian, is it too soon to say Ashon Genty?

(07:04):
I know Derrick Henry was the identity in Tennessee great
defense and run the ball. Is Ashon Genty at four
two highs. That's somebody where his ceiling is saying, Hey,
we don't have a dual carter. Do you want Travis
Hunter at wide receiver or is Genty better at his craft?
And go with Ashton Genty route and let him be
our Derrick Henry to run the ball at thirty plus times?

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Right?

Speaker 10 (07:23):
I would The reason why I would entertain training out
because this is actually a heavy D line draft, so
you'd be able to find guys later on. But yeah,
that's the interesting point, like would they go up and
get that.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
I don't think they would get him in the top
five them crazy, But you never know.

Speaker 6 (07:36):
We somehow went from never taking a running back in
the first round to know, all of a sudden, Logan
Ryan's so oh maybe a top five running back.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
You never know, Ashton genty you qualify. What do you
think will happen?

Speaker 4 (07:44):
Nick, I think that you know, like you said, Mike
Brabel has been a d D Liman's career, someone who
looks to establish a physical brand of football. You know,
in Tennessee we played them all that, We played them
twice a year, very physical, very competitive from the start
of the game to the end. And honestly, I feel
like I don't think a dude is going to be
there at four. I think he'll end up probably going
to Cleveland or if he falls to New York, New

(08:07):
York's gonna take him Travis Hunter, depending on what he's
gonna play. Offensive defense, you know, you compare them with
Stefan Diggs with Drake may Back there at quarterback and
see what you can have there. Also, you know, on defense,
you have Christian Gonzales, you have Carlton Davis that they
brought over.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
And they just revamped.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
I think they spent you know, the most money in
free agency when it comes to bringing in new guys.
So he'll be a good addition to that defense. But
if neither of them there trade out get a couple
more picks later in the draft. You know, I don't
see Ashton gent going at four because you know, a
running back at for me, the last time we saw
something like that, you know, the Trent Richardson of the
Days and.

Speaker 5 (08:40):
And Reggie Bush's.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
You know, I don't know if he's comparable to those
players when they came out of college. But get a
couple extra picks, you know, in the later rounds, get
some some late gyms. You can get Ashton genty probably
ten to fifteen, and build your team around that.

Speaker 10 (08:53):
Yeah, and I also look at like who just won
the MVP, right, Josh Allen is in that division, So
as you mentioned, yes, revamp the secondary, and as you
mentioned too, like getting a d line, get somebody like
abdu Car to go ahead and affect that because Josh's
not getting any worse. He's still going to be unbelievab.
He's trying to get that trophy. So you want to
go and affect the pass if you can.

Speaker 6 (09:13):
It's funny you said who just won the MVP while
Josh Allen did. There were still two running backs that
were part of the conversation in Saquan and Derrick Henry.
And so something happened with the run game in the
last year or two Henry.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
I know that's true.

Speaker 8 (09:27):
No, you're right a lot about today.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
Yes we are, Yes we are. Okay.

Speaker 6 (09:31):
So there is this face looming behind me in Mike Rabel,
and I always love having this shot on my shoulder
because he's like, who are we talking about today?

Speaker 3 (09:39):
Right here?

Speaker 6 (09:39):
Logan, you played for Rabel for two years in Tennessee.
People know him from his you know, NFL films, They
watched him play, they watched him coach, they know he's
a Belichick guy. What is it like having the Mike
Rabel coaching experience.

Speaker 8 (09:51):
I'm a lead with this.

Speaker 11 (09:52):
He's a great head coach, a phenomenal head coach, one
of the best head coach in the NFL. And a
head coach is a very unique job. It's a combination
of things. And just because you're a great player, like
Mike Rabel, was not necessarily going to make your a
great head coach. And just because you're a great motivational
speaker or you're good in front of the room, doesn't
mean you know the x's and o's you know what
to do as a head coach. And just because you're
good the x's and o's, like a great offensive coordinator,

(10:14):
a great defensive coordinator doesn't mean that.

Speaker 8 (10:16):
You can motivate the room. Mike Rabele can do all three.

Speaker 11 (10:19):
He has the experience of a player that part players
can relate and respect. He has the film and the
career where you can go up and say, well, yeah,
I've seen this guy. He was a good player. He
was a locker room dude. He worked really hard. He
gets to the building at four a m. He lifts
every single day, so he's in their setting the tone
as the coach lifting every single day. Then you're talking
about getting from the room and telling people what they

(10:40):
got to do. The CEO who can motivate the company
and hold the accountability of the company because he holds
himself to that standard. And then, last, but not least,
the x's and o's, the late game strategy. We see
a lot of rookie head coach or young head coaches
don't know what to do with their timeouts. Yeah, don't
know how to handle a game towards the end. You've
seen experience of Mike Grabel almost out coaching Bill Belichick
at the end of game. So he is a combination

(11:00):
of a great leader, an alpha leader, a great experience
in the NFL, well, and obviously the X and o's
and the strategy is won the best in the game.
So that combination makes him a rare unique unicorn of
the head coach.

Speaker 8 (11:11):
I had a great time plan for.

Speaker 10 (11:12):
Yeah, and I'm going to add as well to him
also being a great leader of men is when you're
a head coach, you're also a CEO. That's what most
people forget. You don't just have to handle what's on
the field. You got to handle what's going on in
your entire building. And as you see right now here
when he was in Tennessee in New England, he's handing
a lot of stuff as a GM as well, so
he's able to check the boxes just from an executive

(11:32):
standpoint and not just what's going on the field. I mean,
I just recently I was at Boston College with Bill O'Brien.
He comes from the same background, the same tree in
terms of how to do things, and really he made
sure like everything aligned with everything else, whether from the
guy cutting the grass, to the chefs, to the people
upstairs to the support staff, like everybody was on the

(11:53):
same page. And that's exactly what the Patriots are getting
with Mike Baber coming back do you have a nick.

Speaker 6 (11:58):
Jam memory of Mike Rabel playing or playing against teams
he coached.

Speaker 4 (12:02):
Like I said, we played Tennessee twice a year, right,
so the end of the day, they always come out
and play a physical brand of football. Although they're one
of the teams that have been under the radar talent wise,
didn't with you know, Ryan Tannell was a good quarterback.
You know that Derrick Henry receiving, Corey would de hop
and everything. But somehow somewhere they were always able to
rally around, you know, vayable and get the job done,

(12:23):
either get the job done or compete all the way
to the end for a long time with us in
then battling in the in the South. So it's just
it's good to see, you know him go up to
New England somewhere where he's played and go up there.
And took my former dB coach, Justin Hamilton up there too, Okay,
so just to see what he'll do up there.

Speaker 5 (12:41):
It's exciting to see what he'll do.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
Well.

Speaker 6 (12:43):
While Logan you gave him a glowing recommendation and I
appreciate that. At times towards the end of his tenure
in Tennessee. People were kind of calling him a tough
nosed coach, and that was maybe rubbing players the wrong way,
or guys didn't appreciate the building be run that way.
Can you speak to maybe the challenges that come with
it and maybe some things he might have to change

(13:04):
as a coach of the Patriots.

Speaker 11 (13:05):
Well, the first thing he's going to bring, you're going
to seed in the opening press conference. You talk about
no cell phones, no hoods up, all those things beyond time,
it's accountability from bottom of the roster to top of
the roster. And that was very similar to Bill Belichick
on out how you ran things. He was coaching Tom
Brady as hard as coaching the fifty third man. But
what I did see there what the accountability was. He
got the best out of his best players. He got

(13:25):
Derek Henry to go over two thousand yards. He was
playing the best ball, still is playing the best ball
of his career. He got Ryan Tannehill, who was a
good quarterback to multiple Pro Bowls. You know, he got
the best out of Kevin Bayer, who became probably one
of the best safeties in the NFL.

Speaker 8 (13:38):
There, he got the best out of a J.

Speaker 11 (13:40):
Brown, who developed from a second round pick to a
top five receivers. So he is going to be very
hard and hold those top players accountable like you would
the bottom of the roster. Your job is the head coach.
You get the best out of the bottom of your roster.
But very few can get the best out of their
top players and hold them to accountable. So if those
players aren't the hardest workers, if those players are kind
of skate on by and go off their past career
pass resume, that's not going to gel with Mike Rabel

(14:01):
very long. You'll see some of that clashing happen. But
in ten See, I think everyone on the same page.
I think it's when a lost their talent in Tennessee
is when AJ Brown trade away and Treylan Burks can't
do what Aj Brown does. That gets a little frustrating, right,
So there are some power struggles there in Tennessee with.

Speaker 8 (14:16):
GM and head coach. But I think Mike rave got
the best out of players.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
All right.

Speaker 6 (14:18):
There's New Boston Town in New England, and we can't
wait to see how this unfolds, not only with the draft,
but next season as well. Until then, there was a
crossover event that started last night. You're not going to
miss as this thing unfolds.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
Eight days from now is the NFL Draft.

Speaker 6 (14:31):
But what continues today is the fact that the NFL
Network and ESPN are having this crossover. Now you got
our draft. Google Daniel Jeremiah, who's joining the cast of
NFL Live today dj Catch him at four pm Eastern
on ESPN and you'll see some of these guys will
welcome ESPN guys on the AAR on NFL Network as well.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
Ahead of next.

Speaker 6 (14:51):
Week, coming up, Boise State running back Ashton Gent We
just mentioned his name as I'm.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
Sorry, a top five pick. He's got the talent. Do
the teams need him there?

Speaker 6 (15:01):
He's got to be a first round running back off
the next Thursday, we're going to get into his future.
We're going to all give an NFL com for his
playing style. But first, gentlemen, it's Wednesdays. It's Arts and
Crafts Wednesday. No, I mean Whiteboard Wednesday. You get your marker,
you get your eraser, you get a board and come
with a creative answer to three questions at the table for.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
GMFB Whiteboard Wednesday.

Speaker 6 (15:23):
As my Colleaguekyle Brand calls it, undefeated segment on our show.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
We'll be right back.

Speaker 6 (15:37):
Good morn Football Whiteboard Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (15:40):
We're at the table.

Speaker 6 (15:41):
We all have our boards and our markers and our erasers,
because sometimes you want to erase the answer that you
just gave the segment. No, I'm just kidding this first statement.
It's a fill in the blank, fill in the end
of the sentence kind of question. So the example from
last year would be Jaden Daniels. There must be a
player that you think is going to get drafted next
week in Green Bay, and this player will make an

(16:03):
immediate packed And I wrote rookies here because y'all are
rookies in this segment. So play nice, come up with
a good answer.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
And we'll go from there.

Speaker 6 (16:11):
Go ahead, Well, what's who's your immediate impact player?

Speaker 10 (16:14):
All right, My immediate impact player as a rookie this
season is going to be running back from North Carolina
Marion Hampton.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
Okay, I like him.

Speaker 10 (16:22):
I actually at Boston College we got to study him
and watch him, and I was like, you know what,
watching the film here reminds me exactly of DeMarco Murray
A Mario Hampton's about sixty one two twenty Demarcol Murray
six one two twenty. But also you look at names
like Matt Forte, Aaron Foster.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
He's along that realm. Very productive two.

Speaker 10 (16:40):
Seasons back to back in terms of over fifteen hundred
yards fifteen TD so he's very productive. Great contact balance,
Mario Hampton, He's going to steak into the first round.
He's going to be outstanding, immediate impact.

Speaker 8 (16:51):
Love dot com.

Speaker 11 (16:52):
Straight up runner, tall guy, but nice with it, great balance.

Speaker 6 (16:55):
Yeah, I was actually kind of bummed that he wasn't
going to get to play for Belichick next year. I
kind of wanted to see what Belichick would have done
with the rent.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
Get him out of here, Get him out of here,
go ahead.

Speaker 4 (17:06):
So for me, my rookie that'll make a media impact
is Ashton gent Okay, physical running.

Speaker 5 (17:14):
Back, has great top.

Speaker 4 (17:16):
End speed, can be used immediately in the past game
as well on third downs. My player comp is a
little taller than Maurice Jones Drew, a thick lower body,
can run through arm tackles, can run between the blocks
and the tackles, and at the end of the day,
he does have the speed to take it all the
way to the house. So I'll say, Ashton genty, you
having a media impact as a rookie.

Speaker 6 (17:36):
Do you like seeing players play on the blue field
in college? Is that something that isn't Do you like
that for your eye watching football?

Speaker 4 (17:42):
And I've never played on it, but at the end
of the day, I've seen it since I was a kid,
and I was like, that's actually pretty cool to have
a field that's blue. So at some point I do
have to go visit it. I don't know when I'll
ever go out to boys, but you know, at the
end of the day, it's a it's a nice one
of the wonders of the world and.

Speaker 6 (17:59):
Pops on the highlight tape. Yeah, yeah, one of the
football wonders of the world.

Speaker 11 (18:03):
I was playing out that he's kind of hot and
out there that blue on blue.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
Yep.

Speaker 11 (18:08):
I love the ash and gent Pick definitely. I think
he's gonna make an immediate impact. But the player that
will make an immediate impact in the NFL, my guy
is Tyler Warren tight end aka Kittle two point zero.
I don't know if you guys are seeing football recently
what brock Fowers, what these tight ends are doing, but
this guy had one hundred and four receptions for over
twelve hundred yards at Penn State, and it's not like,

(18:30):
let's just check it down so that tight end no
one's covering up. The playtons were designed for him. This
guy gets in the run game. Look, they just ran
a screenplay for the tight end, and he's breaking tacklers,
lowering his shoulder, finishing like Kittle.

Speaker 8 (18:41):
Does down the field.

Speaker 11 (18:42):
Look what brock Bauer's done did when he came in.
Probably the best non quarterback last year, rookie of the
year in my opinion. Look what Sam Laporta has done
for Detroit Lions. Tight ends are getting heavily evolved. Obviously
we know Travis Kelce and all the great ones like that,
but the offense, they're getting more unique, They're getting more involved.
I love Tyler Warren and pen sate extremely productive.

Speaker 8 (19:02):
He's gonna come in and have an impact.

Speaker 3 (19:03):
Manito sits in this here often.

Speaker 6 (19:05):
He constantly talks about how Tyler Warren just had his
way with Notre Dame when they had to play him
in the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (19:10):
So he loves a bit. Wowkat He throws the football.
He's an unro.

Speaker 11 (19:13):
Athlete and he's a great pass catching tight end. But
he's six foot six and two hundred and sixty pounds.

Speaker 5 (19:17):
Yeah, that is a.

Speaker 8 (19:18):
Giant out there, and he can run.

Speaker 12 (19:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (19:19):
I think this guy's gonna have a median impact.

Speaker 12 (19:21):
All right.

Speaker 6 (19:21):
So, as I mentioned at the end of last segment,
so there is a crossover event happening between NFL Network
and ESPN. Yesterday, Kyle Brandt, who I guess, took time
off from our show to go on Sports Center to
talk about the NFL Draft. He hung out with Hannah's
Storm and he couldn't help himself but bring the energy,
which is what we are all accustomed to.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
Let's take a listen. Then it'll be our second question.

Speaker 13 (19:43):
Kyle, you're already winning because you're in Sedona. I mean,
that's that's a gorgeous background, and you apparently packed a
vintage Sports Center T shirt for your trip.

Speaker 5 (19:55):
I don't leave home without a Hanna. It's a thrill
to be on with you.

Speaker 14 (19:58):
I was classically raised on Stu Scott and Charlie Steiner,
but I've been watching us since eight and it's real
and it's spectacular.

Speaker 5 (20:06):
I am outside of Phoenix right now.

Speaker 14 (20:08):
I heard Steve and A said the Suns are on
the way to having the worst owner in NBA history.
So I'm here to give them a pep talk. It's
not going well. So I thought we talked some draft together,
you and I.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
That's perfect.

Speaker 6 (20:18):
The vintage t as we all know, Kyle has an
entire collection of them and he does travel with them
in a double bag at all times.

Speaker 3 (20:24):
Let's talk Sports Center though.

Speaker 6 (20:25):
He just mentioned a couple of anchors that Kyle used
to watch when he was classically raised on some of
those guys, well, black men, you go first, you have
a favorite all time Sports Center anchor.

Speaker 10 (20:35):
It's tough because back then, like they were all legends
and legends, you really could go wrong. But this I'm
being a little biased here because I just spent time
with them.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
But Kenny Mayne good one. He's all standing.

Speaker 10 (20:45):
We just played golf in Virginia for Chris Long And
actually I met Kenny Mayine when I was in Seattle.
We played at a golf tournament and me, excuse me,
at a flag football event for Pro Jam at Loomenfield.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
Yeah, this is what a sentence that was.

Speaker 6 (21:00):
I was like a mad lib I know, right, flag
football event with Kenny Maine in Seattle at Lumenfee.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
Hosted by Pro Jam, hosted by Pro Jam. But I
just love his dry humor.

Speaker 10 (21:12):
He's still doing stand up now and he's just outstanding.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
So Kenny Maine main event. I really really appreciate him.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
That's a really good one. I like the vintage photos.

Speaker 4 (21:21):
What about you, Nick, I'm gonna go back in time
a little bit. I'm not that old, so I can't
go that far back.

Speaker 2 (21:26):
But I was.

Speaker 4 (21:26):
Watching him since I was a kid on the lake.
Stewart Scott someone who I grew up watching at Sports Center,
ESPN Basketball, NBA basketball on Friday nights. Someone who did
his job at a very high level, who spoke the game,
who commentated the game as if his life dependent on it,
and someone who I enjoyed turning on to watch every
single Friday and Saturday.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
Oh that's a really good answer.

Speaker 6 (21:49):
Anytime you can bring up Stuart Scott and speak to
how he helped us all watch sports television, it's like.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
A good day.

Speaker 11 (21:54):
Cool as the other side of the pillow. That one
I'll always remember. All right, this might be a little
bit before next time. I'm not sure, but my favorite
Sports Center anchor of all time is Chris Berman, right,
who all the ad libs.

Speaker 5 (22:06):
I'm glad you did it. I was worried about having
to do it. Let me hear it again.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
I'm a tea player.

Speaker 11 (22:10):
Yeah yeah, yeah, So Chris Berman the fastest three minute
in sports. This is like NFL Red Zone before NFL run.
Yeah right, this is on a Sunday before Sunday Night football.
You get to see all those games in three minutes.
You get to see the highlights, all the words, all
the ad libs that he did, the energy he brought
to the game. I remember as a kid hearing that
and tuning that in before I go to school, with

(22:30):
the top ten and all that stuff. But even on
Sunday nights, you know, to see the recap of everybody
in the touchdowns and the music that they had playing
for it. I just that is something that is nostalgia
to me watching football growing up.

Speaker 6 (22:41):
Chris Berman, that was a perfect way to explain it.
So somehow we went from the fastest three minutes commercial
three three minutes of football to seven hours.

Speaker 10 (22:48):
And Scott Hansen was well, you mentioned him because that's
actually my ring tone is nic exactly?

Speaker 3 (22:54):
It's a good ring tone.

Speaker 2 (22:56):
It's great.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
All right, Dolphins offensive lineman. This is our final question.

Speaker 6 (23:01):
I think I guess I would say, Kyle Brandt is
my favorite person ranker now since he's appeared to.

Speaker 3 (23:05):
The crossbo Gun Lineman.

Speaker 6 (23:06):
Toront Arm said he was on our show this week
actually on Monday, and he while he announced his retirement
this past weekend, he threw a great party that we
had to ask him about after his twelve year career,
and he revealed that the party that was hosted Miami
to celebrate the next chapter in his life had.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
A kind of a cool twist to it, which was
the guest list that rolled up. Take a listener.

Speaker 15 (23:30):
So I actually had a retirement party and I had
when I say, my guy showed up, they and they
really really touched my heart. I feel extremely blessed and
hunted to have Drew Brees, Willie Rove, cam Jordan, Mark Angram,
Teddy Bridgewater, Tyreek Hill, Mike McDaniel. It was incredible and
just just a very very touching evening.

Speaker 6 (23:53):
Once again, congratulations to toront Arms said on his career,
but also throwing one hell of a party that people
want to show up to, not afraid to drop names
as you should if you have a guest. It's like
that everybody has to pretend to early retirement party. Today
at this table, you're creating the guest list.

Speaker 3 (24:08):
Who is the celebrity that you would love to say?

Speaker 6 (24:11):
Yeah, this guy showed up in my retirement party.

Speaker 10 (24:13):
Yeah, as the world knows, I'm in hospitality, I'm a
wine I'm a food guy. I like all that stuff.
So you cut to my party. The food has to
be right. So my guest is going to be chef
Andrew zimmern our foods. Oh, I mean, I just love
everything that he does right now. I watch his show
on Taste Made, and the stuff that he does and
makes is obviously outstanding. I hosted a panel with him
at south By and we did a cool wine and

(24:35):
food event. So the stuff that he makes is rock stars.
So you come to my party. The food is going
to be legit. That's all I really care about.

Speaker 8 (24:42):
We're going to eat good and the wine is going
to be flowing.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
Oh, it's going to be outstanding. Blackman Sellers.

Speaker 3 (24:49):
Does the wine?

Speaker 6 (24:49):
Is it judgmental to have those wines that come out
of like the vending machine type things and.

Speaker 2 (24:53):
Parties like that technology. You're good?

Speaker 6 (24:56):
No, come on, just making sure?

Speaker 3 (24:59):
All right? That would be at your party? What do
you got, Nick?

Speaker 5 (25:02):
So I have to one of them. I have two.

Speaker 4 (25:05):
People, one of them a little bit of a jokester,
someone who I have has come on lately on social media.
He will be bringing the Sarahtoga water, the ice bucket,
and the banana peel. I will say, for one, I
have Ashton Hall on there.

Speaker 5 (25:20):
He will be there.

Speaker 4 (25:21):
Just make sure that you have your Sarahtoga water. And
then of course I need someone who's gonna make great food.

Speaker 5 (25:28):
Gordon Ramsey.

Speaker 4 (25:28):
I've watched his show, Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, all of
those things that got my guy right there.

Speaker 6 (25:33):
Okay, tell tell people under the age of twenty eight who.

Speaker 3 (25:36):
Ashton Hall is right now.

Speaker 4 (25:38):
So I guess a social media influencer for his extravagant
morning routine. I actually attempted to do it this morning.
I don't know if the clips are there, but I
attempted to do it this morning because I.

Speaker 5 (25:50):
Was waking up at three o'clock.

Speaker 4 (25:52):
But he said, I personally think, you know, I did
attempt to, you know, dipped up my favorite water.

Speaker 3 (25:58):
You know clips later in the show.

Speaker 4 (25:59):
I promise, you know someone who seems like he has
his life together, and you know I don't.

Speaker 5 (26:04):
I'm not a fan.

Speaker 4 (26:05):
Of waking up at three o'clock in the morning, you know,
and doing six hours of a whole bunch of whatever.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
But I'm glad you're here though.

Speaker 5 (26:10):
Yeah, I'm here, ready to go.

Speaker 6 (26:13):
So you'll have someone there who is dunking the faces
of the guests in water.

Speaker 4 (26:17):
And then Gordon will have a nice five star meal
for you sitting right there, some beef Wellington Man.

Speaker 5 (26:24):
Dish.

Speaker 3 (26:25):
That's a good party. That's a good party right there.

Speaker 11 (26:27):
All right, And that party's got to be at five pm.
I know it goes to bed early, right in that
part of it.

Speaker 8 (26:33):
You got to go to bed early. Yeah, early part.

Speaker 11 (26:35):
I like the dinner early. So maybe I'll be there too,
hopefully I Nick invites me. The celebrity that I would
love to have is just free game.

Speaker 5 (26:41):
Listen.

Speaker 11 (26:42):
We're all craftsmen, right, we all got to work on
our craft. And no one is better at what at
their job than Denzel Washington. Okay, Denzel Washing is a
master of his craft, seventy years old and still going
to acting classes. You can still always learn, you can
still always improve the free game, the wisdom, the humility
and listen, my favorite movie of his, because I know

(27:02):
we're going to ask is uh, it's going to be training.

Speaker 3 (27:05):
Day, train inside because this is a sleeper.

Speaker 5 (27:09):
This is a sleeper.

Speaker 2 (27:10):
Okay, okay, it's right Theregan, I don't.

Speaker 8 (27:13):
Know if people seen Inside Man though, have you seen it?
Uh huh okay, let me.

Speaker 11 (27:16):
Just make sure because there's training day, there's American gangsters.
Remember the Titans? But this when they rob the bank
and they're still in the bank. I mean, I hate
to spoil of ending there for those I haven't seen it.
That right there, that is game changing me. Denzel Washington
Inside Man, biggest sleeper. But I think that he's a
number one A list guy that's going to be at
my party and he's going to be dropping free game press.

Speaker 6 (27:34):
Oh my god, do you have a favorite Denzel movie
that you can.

Speaker 2 (27:37):
Check Americans America? I guarantee it. Yes, are you doing paa?

Speaker 4 (27:42):
I also remember the Titan. That's the first one, So
that was that was a good one for me.

Speaker 6 (27:47):
Constantly I'm asking people and my kids specifically a football
is it fun?

Speaker 3 (27:51):
Are you having fun? And then like no, and then
we're all starting over.

Speaker 6 (27:54):
That's a good party list everybody. Let's just have a
joint party and get all those people there. It'll be
a good time and we are going to get the
footage of you doing your morning routine on the show
this hour.

Speaker 3 (28:03):
Don't you worry.

Speaker 6 (28:05):
It's time for Get to Know, presented by Chase Sapphire.
It's a very strong tight end class in this year's draft.
You say that every year because the position group is
just so enticing in the NFL with two of them,
two tight ends and Daniel Jeremiah's Top fifty prospects Blizz
Michigan's Pulton. Loveland comes in at number seven. From growing
up in a small town to a potential top ten pick,

(28:26):
Let's get to know Loveland better in this edition a
first draft.

Speaker 12 (28:30):
I'm from getting, Idaho, town of about thirty eight hundred people,
very tight knit community. Everyone in Idaho kind of got overlooked,
especially when I was growing up. So I went out
to a camp in Seattle seven on seven trial, got
some exposure, got raided for the three star at first,

(28:52):
and that helped me just get on the map. And
then I got a couple offers. And then once you
started getting some offers, you know they keep all rolling in.
It was a crazy experience for sure, like having coaches
come out coach Harbaugh came to getting the town almost exploded.
It was a big deal. Now more kids in Idaho
getting recruited, and I'm glad just to see that, and
I think that, you know, it's going to continue to
keep growing. Colston Loveland tight End, University of Michigan. I

(29:19):
come from a big ranching family on both sides. I
did have on a little bit of rodeo and I
loved it and I became like pretty good at it
for a couple of years. But then it came to
realization that I couldn't really do everything and take everything
that serious. So I was like, yeah, I'll just stick
to football. I'm a complete tight end overall fluidity, running routes,

(29:53):
getting in and out of breaks, separation and.

Speaker 13 (29:58):
Pulling it down.

Speaker 11 (29:59):
Loveland the go to We're gonna fire to Colston Loveland,
who goes up and gets it.

Speaker 8 (30:03):
Wow, I want to catch.

Speaker 5 (30:07):
The draft.

Speaker 12 (30:07):
Knight's going to mean a lot. I'm actually doing it
in Goodding. We're gonna have a lot of people there.
I want to share their experience. When I hear my
name called, it's gonna get lit in there for sure.
Like we're gonna be jumping around and stuff, but a
lot of sacrifices made to get to this point. So
just blessed to be in this position, and I give
all the glory to God.

Speaker 6 (30:29):
So he's from Idaho. Now we got to talk about
the Boise State running back. Everything is coming up the Broncos.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
The Broncos gonna draft.

Speaker 6 (30:36):
Ashton gent We got to talk Ashton genty the number
two on the Jersey running back coming out of the backfield,
number one for Boys of State in the last couple
of season. Ashton Gent's draft stock is skyrocketing. We're going
to discuss also parallels to former NFL greats that remind
us of Ashton Gentz. But he's the man that will
make his own name in the NFL next season.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
Running back on a blue field. That's next on GMFB.

Speaker 6 (31:10):
Good Monall we are expected to hear. Commissioner Roger Goodell
called Ashton Gent's name pretty early next Thursday in Green
Bay as the top rated running back in this year's
draft class. What do we make of the Boise State
running back? Logan, did you catch him in college to
know well enough what he's going to look like in
the pros?

Speaker 11 (31:27):
I saw what I needed to see to know he's
the real deal. And I think we're overthinking this draft
process with him. Why don't we draft players that when
we give him the ball, they know what to do
with it and they know how to score, and then
players on defense know how to take the ball away.
And Nashon genty scored a lot in college. He had
twenty six hundred rushing yards in a season. He had
twenty nine touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (31:44):
Say it's so casual, right.

Speaker 11 (31:45):
Twenty nine touchdowns and he had seven yards per carry?
And Nickola say, well, what conference did he play and
who did he play? I don't care if it's high school.
When all eight nine guys in the box eleven guys
on defense, No, you're getting the ball and you still
average seven yards per carry.

Speaker 8 (31:59):
That is pretty dominant.

Speaker 11 (32:00):
There's one most dominant rushing seasons ever to not win
a Heisman and he just happened to be the same yearther,
Travis Hunter diddumb.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
That's never been done.

Speaker 11 (32:07):
So this guy's gonna be a instant impact. He is dominant.
He is a guy that he is going to all
this is going to translate to the next level because
he just knows how to score the ball. He knows
how to stiff arm, knows how to run people over.
Ashton Genty is must see TV. He was in college.
These numbers are not a joke, ladies and gentlemen.

Speaker 8 (32:23):
They're legit and he's legit.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
Yeah, and who's your menu of though?

Speaker 11 (32:26):
He reminds me of Prime with Damian Tomlinson, Prime Eli,
daty go pull up that tape A three down back.
He can catch up the backfield as well. And I
remember watching LT.

Speaker 8 (32:35):
Is like toss left, tossing right.

Speaker 11 (32:38):
We all knew LT was getting the ball and no
one was topping LT.

Speaker 8 (32:40):
He was still in there flipping it.

Speaker 5 (32:41):
On the pylon there.

Speaker 8 (32:43):
So it's the comp to me, the balance.

Speaker 11 (32:45):
He's a big back, great feet, breaking through tackles, and
he can catch up the backfield. That is why Ashton
Genty to me is the top five pick.

Speaker 6 (32:52):
I always think it's important when we do NFL comps
that people will throw things at their TV when you
say always a prime LT, not because you project Ashton
Genty to be this guy you project. You're not saying that,
You're just saying when you watch him, if you made
the jersey's totally neutral. That is the style of running
that you think could translate to the NFL, and that's
the parallel.

Speaker 5 (33:10):
That you see.

Speaker 8 (33:11):
Yeah, he is that special to me.

Speaker 11 (33:13):
And I think you know Sakwon Barkley wherever he was drafted,
when he has the ball, he's special, right. And I
think Jamier Gibbs was drafted in the first round. People
saying what are the Lions doing with Jamier Gribbs drafted
at twelve or whatever? If he done went nine or eight,
I think it would haven't justified. When you play the Lions,
they have a lot of weapons, but it starts with
Jamier Gibbs.

Speaker 8 (33:30):
Yes, in the passing game and in the rushing game.

Speaker 11 (33:32):
So I think Ashton Gentszy is gonna be that type
of playmaker of the next level.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (33:35):
When I watch Ashton gen Z, I just look at
you know what he can do. Obviously outside of hitting
the homeless scoring touchdowns, he has unreal contact balance and
that is when he gets hit, he's able to still
go forward. He's not falling backwards. That's why he's able
to get those extra yards. And when I watch him,
I think of like Frank Gore. Like Frank Gore was
somebody who had unbelievable footwork in between the tackles and.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
You always fall forward.

Speaker 10 (33:57):
My coordinator in college was Dana Bible, and he said,
a good offensive play is when the runner back is
laying forward and all the bodies are laying for And
that's somebody like Ashon Jent.

Speaker 2 (34:06):
He's always going forward.

Speaker 10 (34:07):
He's always making strong plays, and you cannot deny the production.
Like you said, Logan, don't overthink this, like this is
a guy who put production out there. And yes, that
is a big knock where he played. They look at
his competition. But I will say against Oregon, who was
a top five defense for a little bithead one hundred
and ninety two yards versus that defense, and so he's
gonna let you know, look, I got it on tape.

(34:27):
And I look at me like, I'm I'm from Rhode Island, right,
I played high school. I played high school football in
Rhode Island, and I got that all the time, like
you played against nobody. I'm like, but I'm in the
league just like you. I'm here too, So I love
that man.

Speaker 4 (34:40):
Yeah, I would say somebody who you know watching him?
First of all, you know, no bending the needs when
he's back there running back, you just stand straight up
and down. You know, almost like a Michael Myers type
of guy. But I would say somebody who when he
hits the hole, he goes, you know, he goes out there.
He's gonna run hard, runs between the tackles. Well, can
catch the ball out the backfield. Like I said earlier,

(35:00):
my player, compass, Maurice Jones Drew. All of them are
well under six feet. Compact can with stan tacklers, can
stiff arm, can juke, can be a three down back.
I know a lot of teams nowadays they try to
use the two running back thing, but you know, he
reminds me of an old school three down bell cow.
You know, had over three hundred and fifty carries his

(35:21):
in his year last year, twenty six hundred yards and
caught the ball to back fel Well, just like you know,
my god Maurys Jones Drew. So I think he can
come in, make an immedia impact and help a team's
run game improved drastically.

Speaker 3 (35:32):
What about his.

Speaker 6 (35:32):
Build though, Because you play with Jonathan Taylor, you know,
we talk about Derek Henry all the time. The running backs,
especially the good ones that can carry into the league.
Some of it is just like you are downright hard
to take down. What's it like looking at his build, like,
how do you even go about that?

Speaker 3 (35:48):
Currently in the NFL?

Speaker 4 (35:49):
Then someone like him, you know super compact five nine,
two hundred and sixteen pounds. You know, I have JT
jat about six feet you know, two hundred and fifteen.

Speaker 5 (36:00):
Two hundred and twenty pounds.

Speaker 4 (36:01):
Guys like that who can run the ball, who have
great contact bounds, who keep their feet turning on contact.
I feel like some guys when they run, they can
run really upright, they have you know, they don't know
how to run behind their pads. Guys who know how
to run behind their paths, such as Johon the Taylor
you know, or Joe Mixon, Ashton genty. Those are guys
you have to come in and gang tackle. Everybody used
to go five board tackle, run through the five board,

(36:22):
drive your feet on contact. And it's eleven man to
the party to help bring these guys down.

Speaker 3 (36:26):
And you're just saying thigh boards sounds like it hurts.

Speaker 2 (36:28):
Don't be afraid. You don't be afraid. Don't do it.

Speaker 3 (36:32):
What about fit you see that?

Speaker 6 (36:35):
You know Sagwon Barklay goes from the Giants to the Eagles.
You see even though Derek Henry had great success with
the Titans, he was able to translate it to the Ravens.
How much does fit for a running back and need
that a team has. Does that demand for Ashton Genty
to have success in the NFL?

Speaker 11 (36:49):
Well, you see it with Sakuon Barkley. The difference about
offensive line. Yeah, I mean the fit is who's got
a great offensive line and wants to come get them.
I think someone's got the trade up for Ashon Genty.
I think it's that special. I think Dallas needs to
do something. They maybe bring him there. They need their
Exekuel Elliott, you know, to help a prescott, which we
talked about.

Speaker 8 (37:06):
So I think that's a great fit. I like New
England for him.

Speaker 11 (37:08):
I said, if they don't have their guy on a
dual carter, So I think a team's going to come
up in the top five to get this guy. Because
with a good offensive line, a great running game is
the quarterback's best asset. If you do not have an
all pro quarterback back there, I would have an all
pro running back because one of those two are going
to touch the ball every single play, and one's got
to be special.

Speaker 8 (37:25):
Because Nick knows you've got a game plan and take
away something.

Speaker 11 (37:27):
And if a offense doesn't have a great quarterback or
running back, that's the best day you can have as
a defender sitting back there getting picks, having a fun day.
So I think he's going to go in somewhere with
a great offensive line.

Speaker 6 (37:37):
That's the second time today you've called Ashan Genty a
top five pick.

Speaker 8 (37:40):
I'm speaking into existence.

Speaker 5 (37:41):
Hey, I'm just clipp.

Speaker 3 (37:42):
It, making a clip it. He said, clip it Ashon Genty.

Speaker 6 (37:46):
Everybody, We're going to hear his name next week in
Green Bay.

Speaker 3 (37:50):
We're back on GMFB. We have enjoyed getting.

Speaker 6 (37:53):
To know everybody at the table, but to have a
current player in the NFL joining us this week in
Nick Cross, and he's a young guy. It's always good
to know what the young kids are getting into, especially
on the internet. Well, there is a viral sensation going
on right now with Ashton Hall and his morning routines. Well,
Nick Cross doesn't just do on the show. He has

(38:14):
to say, I prepare like the sensation that Ashton Hall
is And apparently Nick Cross tried this morning routine. We
have the footage and then we're going to talk about
it well to take all man?

Speaker 3 (38:24):
Okay, Nick? Was that was that authentically done? Was that
three am? And you really?

Speaker 5 (38:28):
That was actually three am?

Speaker 4 (38:30):
Because I had to be here by a certain time,
so yes, that was three am. I had to make
sure to be on that call to call at three thirty,
So was three am for sure?

Speaker 5 (38:39):
Yeah. Never doing that again, Never doing that again. I'm
not doing that.

Speaker 4 (38:42):
I refuse to wake up that early any other day
other than coming on here to be on this show.

Speaker 3 (38:46):
Does the water hit.

Speaker 6 (38:47):
The ice cubes in the bucket differently when you tip
the bottle like.

Speaker 3 (38:50):
This and you're pouring in there? Why does he do
it that way?

Speaker 5 (38:52):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (38:53):
I just burst to the side.

Speaker 4 (38:54):
I don't know if he doesn't show off his muscles
that you know good?

Speaker 5 (38:57):
But you know, yeah, you know.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
Why it's necessary.

Speaker 5 (39:01):
I don't think it takes.

Speaker 4 (39:02):
I don't think you need to flex every muscle to
pour into a bowl. But you know, I try to
make it as authentic as possible. And guys, look, you
don't have to wake up that early. I enjoyed doing
it for the show. I enjoyed Good Morning Football. But
I promise you tomorrow I will be waking up at
six thirty.

Speaker 5 (39:20):
Like I usually do.

Speaker 14 (39:21):
So.

Speaker 6 (39:21):
Okay, so you're going back to a regular wake up
time for regular human However, will you incorporate the banana
peel facial into your routine now because you have a
glow about you today?

Speaker 8 (39:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (39:30):
Yeah, I mean me.

Speaker 4 (39:32):
I think if y'all say they have a glow about me,
you know, people out there watching, you can let me know.

Speaker 5 (39:36):
But if it is true, you know, whatever works.

Speaker 4 (39:39):
I'm always about improving myself, you know, improving you know,
if that helps the skin goal a little more than
for sure, I will continue. You rinse the banana peel, Yeah,
you have to. You know, I did some research. I
did chat GPT and chat GBT said it does have
some benefits.

Speaker 5 (39:52):
Okay. I a little look it up.

Speaker 6 (39:56):
And the subtle flex of the diamond necklaces laid out
on the hotel tray.

Speaker 3 (40:01):
It was like, that's not what action call does. But
Nick Cross can do it.

Speaker 5 (40:04):
I had my own flare twists. You know, at the
end of the day.

Speaker 4 (40:08):
I probably would not put lemons in it again because
kind of burned a little bit.

Speaker 6 (40:11):
Sure, but then you offset it with the banana and
it cross everybody.

Speaker 3 (40:15):
Oh my gosh,
