Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Hey, welcome to Good Morning Football.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
I'm Jamie Erdol, Kyle Brand, Jason mccordy, Peter Schrager. We
take you to Philadelphia where the Eagles are holding voluntary
workouts as we take a gander at Jalen Hurts throwing
the ball around. Who for about a week, who was
the highest paid quarterback in the NFL. I'm sure he's.
Speaker 4 (00:40):
Fine just being on the list.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Because the deal is done, he can be in Philadelphia
for a long time. A. J. Brown and Jason Kelsey
spoke yesterday about their quarterback and his new deal.
Speaker 5 (00:51):
It started for him. He deserves it, and I'm just
excited with the future holds for him. You know, he's
a great guys, y'all know. You know, he's still at
all our worker. He's still determined to be great, So
it definitely didn't change him, you know, and definitely just
motivating him if anything, so you know, that's what you want.
Speaker 6 (01:11):
It seems like he still has a hunger and a
desire to improve and get better, which is a necessity
in this league. So I have not noticed anything different
other than actually nothing from him, probably just an aura of.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:34):
Commas. I guess.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
He was searching for that joke, and I could sense
a couple of different angles he was thinking to take.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
He's like, no, not that one, not that one.
Speaker 4 (01:44):
I'm gonna go with Commas.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
That seems like the safest one.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
Jalen. It's made a lot of money.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
It's great for Jalen.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
He's still Jalen hurts, though, and that's a good thing
to hear after the off season.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
In the draft they've had.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
Things aren't looking remarkable in Philadelphia. So let's dive into
the ringing NSC champions. It's a challenging exercise to do
this morning. What is your biggest concern is any of
the Tony Peter I know you've done some arduous work here,
my friend.
Speaker 7 (02:08):
Yeah, I'm trying to do some heavy lifting here because
they look great and they added in the draft, and
we've talked so positively about the egos.
Speaker 4 (02:14):
So what would be their achilles heal?
Speaker 7 (02:16):
What would be something that going to seas and say, yeah,
but maybe they don't defend the title because and I
look at the coaching staff, they lost a lot of
good coaches and that happens when you're a team that
goes to the Super Bowl. Jonathan Gannon was a really
good defensive coordinator. Whether he's popular in Philly now, I
don't know, especially after the tampering stuff that was all
went down and that, Hey, maybe during Super Week he
(02:37):
was actually talking with the Cardinals. But they lost their
defensive coordinator who was a defensive coordinator, one of the
best defensive football Their offensive coordinator. They lost Shane Steichen,
who helped orchestrate that entire offense with Jalen Hurts and
all those running backs that absolutely pummeled the NFC in
the playoffs and then took the Chiefs down to the wire.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
Stikeen is now in Indianapolis.
Speaker 7 (02:57):
You're taking your offensive coordinator, your defensive cornator. They also
lost Tonard Wilson, who was considered to be the defensive corner.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
He goes the Ravens.
Speaker 7 (03:05):
Nick Rallis is a young stud that's rising in the ranks.
He's gonna be the defensive coordinator in Arizona again, and
took him with him. So that's four top coaches on
the staff. So then you say, okay, but fine, they
bring back most of the players Shansdyke might be gone,
but Nick Sirianni is still there as the head coach.
I'm gonna look at Brian Johnson as maybe the most
important coach on that staff this season.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
Brian Johnson was the quarterbacks coach last year. There he
is in the hooding sweatshirt and the green hat.
Speaker 7 (03:32):
He gets the promotion to offensive coordinator. Here's the guy
who played at Utah was a star quarterback.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
I mentioned this before.
Speaker 7 (03:40):
He was on the cover the NC two, a video
game by Electronic Arts one year, was so good at Utah.
Speaker 4 (03:46):
It's coming back. Players are gonna be in the game,
and this guy is gonna be very.
Speaker 7 (03:50):
Much involved in the success or failure of that Eagles offense.
They did bring back all those offensive lineman, they did
bring back all those guys. But this was an awesome
offense that every time they took the field, they just clicked.
And they did it right up until the final whistle
of the Super Bowl. Hey, if they don't call that
holding penalty, I had no doubt the Eagles were going
to march right down the field, run the ball right
(04:12):
down the Chiefs threads, and either tie that game or
take the lead. They didn't get that opportunity. I wonder
if it is a turnkey when you lose Stichen and
all what he had going on with that offense. If
you just say, hey Johnson, you were at the quarterbacks,
now you're gonna be the OC. It's a heavy lift
to try to poke a hole in the Eagles this
year because they are loaded. But I would think some
(04:33):
of the brain power they have on that sideline, that
brain power being this first.
Speaker 4 (04:36):
Round the league, that's not a great thing right at
the moment, it's not.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
And they are the sixth team Super Bowl team to
lose both coordinators. The previous five reached the divisional round,
not even the title game. Also, the Super Bowl loser
hasn't been back in a long, long long time. There's
all those practical reasons, and I'll take my shot at
I could get into the coach of the roster.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Blah blah.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
There's something different, there's something between the Ears and for
the origin story of my little hole poking in the Eagles,
let's go back a few years to the rocky steps
in Philadelphia.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Go ahead, listen closely.
Speaker 8 (05:08):
Oh bunch, underdogs, And you know what under dogs is.
It's a hungry dome and Jeff Stalin has had this
in our building for five years. It's a quote in
the old line room that has stood on the wall
for the last five years. Hungry dogs run fast, And
that's just team.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
We wanted it more.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
So good that was that team. They wanted it more.
Are they hungry now?
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Sure?
Speaker 1 (05:37):
They lost the Super Bowl and you want to get
back Listen, Jason Kelsey has gone from that guy to
some sort of media tycoon. It's constant podcast here. I'm
doing funny things, doing Christmas albums. Me and my brother
are taking.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
Over the league. Where the new Manning's like, all right,
Jalen Hurts.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
We're talking about how many commas he has. He's gone
from being the guy who was benched in college and
overlooked and now it's like, look how wealthy he is
and he's so cool.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
Like is this team motivated like that? Are they hungry dogs?
Speaker 1 (06:03):
Because even last year just front runners, just plowing everybody
like not on the adversity scale, it was pretty low
for a team that wins that many games.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
What is it this year?
Speaker 1 (06:14):
Everybody in the world, not just Philly, is saying you're
the best, You're the best, You're the richest, and the
coolest and the fastest and the toughest.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
And we love your coach, and we love your players,
and we love your quarterback.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
And you're just gonna destroy everybody that can recavoc kind
of team that is.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
That dog ain't hungry.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
That dog is getting filet mignon whatever it wants right
erin it's little bowl. You can have steak, you can
have a caviar, whatever you want.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
That dog, if.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
Anything is like it needs to eat less. Yeah, okay,
it needs to hear less about it. So the town,
the media, the core players are wired to that nobody
believes in us, and we're going.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
To show them. Everybody believes in you. Now, how do
you still show them?
Speaker 1 (06:50):
I love the roster, I love Sirianni maybe my favorite
coach in the NFL.
Speaker 9 (06:54):
No kittles and bits, just steak and kidtles and bits.
Speaker 4 (06:58):
And you got to go across the top of the cup.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
Oh yeah, no puppy chow. None of that crap in
the can, none of.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
That truffles truffles And they use a dog to find
truffles underneath it and then they feed him to that dog.
He has get another dog to get my truffles I'm
the evil, not a hungry dog. You know, it's like
it's the dog's rotund at this point.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
So yes, that's what I would say.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
Seriani, coacher, mop I love you, but everybody everybody loves you.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
That's the problem.
Speaker 9 (07:24):
Everybody loves them. That's a great point. And they went
to the super Bowl, played well, really well last year,
and all we said all off season is how well
they've done him free agency, signing this guy, the draft
they killed at how he rollsman, he's the guy. I
was doing some research on my si dot com and
John McMullen has an article and it says Eagles twenty
twenty three expectations are reaching unrealistic levels. That's where the
(07:47):
Eagles are right now. Everybody is crowning them, talking about
their favorites to get back to the super Bowl. And
that becomes the challenge of how do you live up
to the hype and to the expectations that everybody is
set forward for you and that you're setting for yourself.
It is extremely hard to get to a super Bowl.
A lot of things have to work out in your favor,
(08:08):
and Eagles have done a good job of replacing guys,
bringing certain people in But the truth of the matter
is they got there last year because you have players
that have great seasons, career type of years.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
CJ.
Speaker 9 (08:19):
Gardner Johnson leaves in free agency, but had the best
year of his career last year for the Eagles. Javarn Hargrave,
Miles Sanders, these guys, TJ. Edwards, these guys had tremendous years.
It's hard right now and made its who's gonna step
up and have this tremendous year this year that is
gonna take us over the top and get us back
to the super Bowl because no matter what, who you
(08:40):
bring back, what goes right injuries just to be able
to get back there. You think about the Eagles one
in twenty seventeen. That next year, yes, they make it
to the playoffs. They end up beating Chicago on a
Cody Parky field goal. That is the double dooint, that
close to leaving out in the first round of the playoffs,
and they struggled early on with Winz coming back. In
all these different variables that you need to go the
right way, the ball has to bounce your way to
(09:02):
get back to the Super Bowl. So yes, trying to
find the limitations as you go through the Eagles depth
chart and roster.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
It's very hard.
Speaker 9 (09:09):
They have talent at every position.
Speaker 4 (09:11):
There's there's a question I have, Sorry to interrupt you,
No good.
Speaker 7 (09:13):
You were on this Patriots team that all these guys,
these veterans who had already won super Bowls before, and
they had won recently and they were they still had
that hunger. So what would be your advice to these
Eagles players who had already won one already then got
to one. Like, I'm not worried about the young guys
are gonna I'm talking about the Kelsey's, the Fletcher Cops,
Brandon Grahams, like they're made men. How do you get
(09:35):
them to be motivated to be their very best again?
Speaker 9 (09:37):
I think there's something special about any super Bowl team.
I think that brings an element that is different. I
remember when I got to New England in twenty eighteen.
I was a guy who was coming off a season
where I didn't win a single game. It wasn't just me,
Danny Shelton was there, Josh Gordon got there, all of
us on that Brown team, and I felt like that
was an element joining our team where you have guys
(09:57):
who have never done with some of the people in
this locker room done, and you bring a realistic approach
to it, where you have guys talking about what they've
done in the past, and you have an old guy
like man my tenth year sitting there saying, well, I'm
just happy to win our first game of the season
against the Houston Texans. And I think that type of
perspective helped us.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
In that year.
Speaker 9 (10:14):
In twenty eighteen for the Eagles, there's gonna be something
about this year that's gonna be special. Maybe it's the
loss of two coordinators that rally the team together, because
we're sitting here at this desk saying, well, they lost
both their coaches, they lost this guy, they lost that guy.
So maybe it's that that rallies in together. It's going
to be something that makes this team special if they're
able to get.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
Back to that big game.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
I think that was a very real thing you said
in the middle of that, which is any team that
makes it to a playoff to the Super Bowl wins
Super Bowl, a lot of things have to go the
right way for them. And it's not just like you
are the most dominant minute, every minute, every snap, every series,
Like sometimes a ball just has to bounce your way,
and for a team to make it all the way
to the super Bowl and have it happen so well
from them and then to lose it.
Speaker 4 (10:54):
The thing that I find and this isn't.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
I'm just gonna give them their props' I can't really
poke hold yeah, hum, it's tough.
Speaker 4 (10:59):
It's stuff.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
What I am going to say about this though, is
I know Jalen Hurts. The now around him, it's always
rich and he's so cool and he's different. They made
that team, they made it to the super Bowl with
that team with Jalen Hurts, as you had not locked
him up yet. This was like, was this a flash
in the pan team? Was this a team that had
aj Brown? That was like one good season. We weren't
(11:20):
sure what we were going to get out of Hurts
and all of a sudden they stumbled into it. Now
they know now, they know what they have, They know
the potential for these guys. So it's almost like last
season I look at it as like that could have
been a fluke, but now they've done all the right
things where now they can become the Eagles of Dominance.
It was like that was just the birthplace of it
and If you can do that with a team that
(11:40):
you weren't sure if your quarterback was to get locked up,
you're good.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
Now you have it.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
It's very hard to find an.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
Issue with this one.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Well, the flip side of that is Jalen Hurts has
had one excellent season, just one, and they paid him everything,
and we love him and he's great. But it's not
someone who's ripped off three or four good years. It
wasn't even Mahomes when he finally got the big contract
and he had showed up.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
And made this massive splash.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
First, Jalen Hurts was okay that first year, made the
playoffs great last year. It's usually usually small sample size
for a contract of that size, so I don't think
it's so much.
Speaker 7 (12:12):
It's usually sacrilegious to to, you know, walk away from
veteran players, and the Eagles didn't do that. They went
and they re signed Brandon Graham and Fletrick. One of
the things that made the Patriots so ruthless and so
good over time is that right before those guys got
by point, they'd say goodbye. And that included Mike Vrabel,
and included William McGinnis, and it included so many before
(12:33):
Richard Seymour.
Speaker 4 (12:34):
And uh, the Eagles double down.
Speaker 7 (12:36):
They brought back Kelsey, they bring back Brandon Graham, they
bring back Fretrick Kyx, they bring back Lane Johnthan back everybody.
Speaker 4 (12:42):
Uh, we'll see.
Speaker 7 (12:43):
I think they're the best team in the nf C,
maybe the NFL going into this season.
Speaker 4 (12:49):
But it's not that easy. That's not how the I.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
Remember thinking it was shocking when the Patriots Levinitary go
about Minitary's a legend.
Speaker 4 (12:55):
Didn't care Brady go? They did?
Speaker 9 (12:58):
Well, that didn't quite that's not quite well Brady wanted
to go.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
That was it.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
We did our best guys for minutes of trying to
find an issue with the twenty twenty three fold All Behagles,
The assignment has been completed.
Speaker 7 (13:13):
We have been so so happy to have kJ writ
in studio the past few days.
Speaker 10 (13:17):
One of the legends from the Seattle Legion of boom
Era and keeps on mentioning these names and all the
Seattle players, and constantly Sarah Jason and I are like, gosh,
there was a lot of good players on the defense.
Speaker 7 (13:28):
And gosh, there are a lot of personalities on that defense.
Speaker 4 (13:33):
So we put kJ to the task.
Speaker 7 (13:35):
Yesterday we had him break down his top three moments
from that era. But today we're going to focus on
the individual players on the field. kJ We want to
break down your top five defenders from the Legion of
Boom era from five to one. List your friends not
a good thing.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
To do, and yet here we are.
Speaker 11 (13:54):
Listen first and foremost, guys. I love you, guys, I
respect you, guys.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
Do not be mad at me.
Speaker 11 (14:00):
But we gotta rank you guys number five to number one.
And coming to number five, we got mister belly roll himself.
Brandon me Band at number five was a monster, a monster,
and he was so intellectual as well. Before the play,
he will point ball's going here, ball's going there. He
would let us know what was coming. Just TFLs left
(14:21):
and right. And this guy personally means a lot to
me because he took me under his wing. He taught
me how to play football, he taught me how to
watch film. Brandon me Baners a guy that has forgotten
about but in my eyes he is one of the best,
one of the best.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
Look at that.
Speaker 11 (14:35):
Look at that got damn one of the best to
do it. Brandon me Bany at number five, that's bad.
Let's go now number four. Okay, this word starts getting
a little controversial.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
Coming number four.
Speaker 11 (14:46):
We got the best cornerback of this generation, Richard Sherman,
who had number four, number four.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
Listen, this is.
Speaker 11 (14:56):
My guy, but a Faye ball to his side is
an interception.
Speaker 2 (14:59):
Every single time.
Speaker 11 (15:00):
This man ended up with thirty seven career picks. The
man talked to smack. If you threw the ball his way,
nothing good was going to happen. Sherman got so good.
At one point he was like, Ken, don't even bust
to my side. I'm like, Sherman, I'm the bus defender.
I got to drop to you.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
He's like, go do something else. I don't need you
to look at my side.
Speaker 11 (15:18):
He took away one third of the football field and
at one point eight interceptions eight interceptions t PBUs. Richard
Sherman at number four, number three, number three, give me
Earl Thomas at number three. This man, I will walkthroughs
was like game days. He to say he loved football
(15:39):
is an understatement. Earl Thomas was just.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
Glued to film.
Speaker 11 (15:43):
This man lived, breathe and just loved football and one
of the best tackling safeties that I have ever singing
if it's in the open field, he's bringing you down.
If it's a fadeball, he's running sideline to sideline, red
line to red line, getting those picks. And my favorite
play of Earl Thomas is right here, so laser focused,
(16:04):
got the bumble out right before Cunningham get to get
to the end zone.
Speaker 2 (16:08):
This guy was just so focused.
Speaker 11 (16:09):
He was so smart, and I'm telling you the way
he practiced was like game day Benny.
Speaker 4 (16:15):
Cunningham highlights on Friday morning.
Speaker 11 (16:17):
Let's go just yes to number two. Number two, give
me Bobby Wagner. This man is the best wonder who.
Bobby Wagner one of the best of this generation. Just
over fifteen hundred tackles, thirty sex off his in linement,
cannot block them. His IQ is like one of the
(16:40):
best I've ever seen. Bobby Wagner is the best linebacker
of this generation. Got pigs, got tfils left and right,
thirty sex. You try to run his way and nothing
good is happening. So I'm so glad he's back. It'll
definitely help out the Seahawks defense.
Speaker 7 (16:54):
I tell you what I used to love when Bobby
Wagner used to jump over defensive lines and blowing field,
unbelievable athlete with great fanfare. We've already done Sherman, We've
already done Wagner, We've already done Brandon Mee Ban and
Earl Thomas. Who is the number one player in the
Legion of Boom era.
Speaker 11 (17:12):
On that defense, there can only be one enforcer.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
Give me Cam Chancellor number one. Cam Chancellor is the
big dog.
Speaker 11 (17:20):
He's enforcer, and like I said last week, this man
kept everyone together. He was the glue to the defense.
I know everyone sees his big hits. I know everyone
sees them striking dudes, but his leadership was something that
really stood out to me. Cam gave the pregame speeches,
knocking dudes.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
Out left and right.
Speaker 11 (17:38):
They gotta brought their energy to our football team. And
so one of my favorite teammates ever. The guys are
freaking legend. His career also ended way too soon. If
we're talking about Cam Chancellor, he's the big dog, he's enforcer.
He's my number one Legion of Boom member Boom.
Speaker 7 (17:53):
All right, So I look at Legend of Boom and
we're talking about the entire era.
Speaker 4 (17:56):
Legion of the Boom might have been the defensive bout
This is the whole thing. This is controversial on many levels.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
And yet you were there, you were in the trenches.
Speaker 4 (18:04):
Have you see it, And it could have been any order.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
Who would you picked?
Speaker 7 (18:07):
Well, I mean, I don't see Michael Bennett on this list,
he might have made this list. I don't see Cliff
April on this list.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
I don't see kJ Wright on this list.
Speaker 4 (18:17):
And I might have also.
Speaker 11 (18:18):
Uh look there there's so many.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
It's hard.
Speaker 7 (18:22):
Hall of Famer Bobby Wagner, Yes, Hall of Famer, Richard Sherman.
I don't know if Cam Chancellor, Earl Thomas get that
same discussion.
Speaker 2 (18:29):
Really, I don't know. I was in the building.
Speaker 11 (18:32):
What they talk make the case to that they meant
to our football team. I'm telling you, with all these personalities,
all these egos, who's going to be the one real
guys back?
Speaker 2 (18:42):
It was this? It was this dude.
Speaker 11 (18:44):
He kept everyone together, He kept everyone on the same page.
When you look at Earl of Thomas, he's a guy
that in the middle of the field catch up, watched this,
Bobby watched his oh here come here, like these dudes
were legends and so I love these guys. Don't be
mad at me, all you guys are phenomenal players.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
Hey, top five, here we go.
Speaker 7 (19:03):
Jason, you were in the trenches, you were across from
these guys on the field.
Speaker 9 (19:07):
What's your reaction to the hall legends? As you say,
all right, I'm focusing on the secondary because the secondary
was the league.
Speaker 5 (19:14):
Boom.
Speaker 9 (19:15):
I want to know, Kjy, what do you think these
guys are gonna think?
Speaker 2 (19:18):
You just said?
Speaker 9 (19:19):
Personalities?
Speaker 4 (19:19):
Egos?
Speaker 9 (19:20):
Richard Sherman is the last amongst the DBS.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
Earl is behind Cam.
Speaker 9 (19:27):
If those guys had to rank themselves, do you think
they would see it the same?
Speaker 2 (19:31):
Absolutely, not.
Speaker 11 (19:34):
Gonna be bad at me right here, Bobby, He's not
gonna like this. He's not gonna want Sherman's gonna laugh
about it. Cam wouldn't care where he was at. Hell,
he's not tripping me.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
Bang.
Speaker 11 (19:45):
I know this means a lot to me, Bang because
he was kind of the unsung hero. He's the guy
that never made a Pro Bowl, but up front he
controlled the line of scrimmage. And so these guys, only
person that's gonna probably be upset?
Speaker 4 (19:56):
What about Earl? Gonna be all right?
Speaker 2 (19:58):
Early be cool, Early be cool? Who is it who
is the biggest struggle to leave off.
Speaker 4 (20:02):
Who is who is number six?
Speaker 2 (20:04):
You felt really bad about Michael Bennett.
Speaker 11 (20:06):
Mike Mike Bee was a monster off front, just making
TFLs left and right. Like I said, his IQ was
one of the best I've ever seen. But I couldn't
put them in front of me.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
Band. This is my guy. This is just anything. Yeah,
he means a lot to just off.
Speaker 4 (20:20):
The top of my head.
Speaker 7 (20:21):
There are some other guy. Frank Clark was on this defense.
Bruce Irvin was a big part of this defense.
Speaker 4 (20:28):
Lane right number twenty.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
Yeah, that's I like. I love.
Speaker 7 (20:35):
Loading defense and don't for a second think that this
guy wouldn't be on a lot of these players.
Speaker 4 (20:40):
Let's kJ Wright third all time in Seahawks.
Speaker 7 (20:44):
Franchise history and tackles and one of the most consistent
players of your time.
Speaker 4 (20:47):
Dude, thank you for making this listen. Not easy to
rank your friends. This was friends. Make them all mad.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
We need to add all of them on Twitter.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
In a recent interview with Complex forty nine Ers wide
receiver Deebo Samuel said, quote, my most hated team is
the Eagles right now, one dred percent. All the trash
talk coming from the Eagles fan base and the players
you just get tired of that we lost the NFC
Championship game because we played with ten people. That's one
lesson when you're supposed to do, and the one that
he is talking about is the one that's supposed to
get him the ball.
Speaker 9 (21:21):
So take that for what you will.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
Deebos Samuel is still talking about that forty nine Ers
loss rightfully wrongfully. So so that means that we must
all have a game or a situation that we had
a hard time getting over. We're I think we're going
to keep in football because situation means that it's like
a life thing and I don't want to go there.
So Jason football was hard time getting over.
Speaker 4 (21:38):
Still talking about this game, they still are.
Speaker 9 (21:39):
Yeah, we talked about all the way up to the
Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
If I had to choose.
Speaker 9 (21:43):
One game, I would go with the Miami Miracle. I
was a part of the New England Patriots. This is
going to be the first time I ever got a
T shirt and hat. We're supposed to win the division
this game. I didn't play my best game individually. And
now there's this commercial where you have the ex's and
oles going on as this play is being drawn up
iron he get him ground the call, and I can't
(22:04):
stand it every time I hear this. It is a
tough game to get over. And I remember we kicked
the ball off here and before this play, and Miami
picks it up and they run around and waste so
much time. As I'm jogging on the field, I'm talking
trash to them. You guys just lost the game for yourselves.
And then it follows this way. Gronk is still chasing
Drake and still having caught him as he trips over
(22:26):
himself going.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
For the tackle.
Speaker 9 (22:28):
Gronk's reaction to this play the next day was so funny.
He's cracking up, laughing like, I don't know what I
was supposed to do back there trying to make the tackle.
But yes, the Miami miracle a tough game to get over.
Dev is still running into the tunnel as he was
not in the game taking on this play, taking in
that's what good is him for, Gronk one for one greatest.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
Coaching teams player.
Speaker 9 (22:45):
And they have the spotlight on me as I'm doing
absolutely nothing as they're scalling a touchdown, hit the playoff
the screen.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
Long, what you got?
Speaker 2 (22:53):
You ran four three, didn't you? I'm doing my job
was supposed to cover.
Speaker 12 (22:57):
That's one of those guys were supposed to run four three,
runing four to seven. He's doing it so that one
mccordy was guy. So what I got is this one's
a tough one for me, guys. Twenty twelve Rutgers versus
Louisville one of my final games in my college career.
Rutgers were having a great season New York, New Jersey.
You guys remember this. All we have to do is
(23:18):
beat Teddy Bridgewater in Louisville to get a birth to
the first.
Speaker 9 (23:21):
Didn't you get, you guys on like one ankle?
Speaker 12 (23:23):
Yeah, you get a birth to the Sugar Bowl.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (23:25):
He didn't start the game because he had a high
ankle's frame and I think a broken wrist on his
off hand. And he ended up coming in the game
because we're beating up on the backup pretty well, and
he led them to a fourth quarter comeback and Louisville
gets a birth to the Sugar Bowl and they beat Florida.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
But that was Rutgers chance. That was our chance to
go to.
Speaker 12 (23:43):
The Sugar Bowl and show that we were one of
the top teams in college and Teddy Bridgewater clutch player man.
A lot of respect for him, but Teddy Be that
one still hurts me.
Speaker 4 (23:50):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 2 (23:53):
I was just gonna bring up something. I don't know
if it was gonna make this secondent. Just bring it up.
Speaker 1 (23:55):
I think we have the video said this killed me
when I watched this, and I still cannot get over it.
Here it is right here. It's the Miami Miracle. They
were playing against the Patriots, and that's Jason who's in
the league for thirteen years. And all you have to
do is stop some schoolyard nonsense with a bunch of
laterals or whatever. Jason, what are you thinking? Why didn't
you run over there right now? Why are you standing
(24:17):
out side of the field.
Speaker 9 (24:17):
We got to think about a last play in the game.
What happens on the last play game when you're that
far what do What does the offensive team do?
Speaker 2 (24:23):
Lateral of the ball?
Speaker 9 (24:24):
You start throwing it across the field, you start.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
Running to the end zone. So there are things.
Speaker 9 (24:28):
I am on this side and I am covering somebody.
You have to keep your eyes on your guy. Sure,
I run over there and they throw it back to
my guy and they score a touchdown.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
Then I get you still covering that guy as Kenyan
Drake has running to this.
Speaker 9 (24:40):
They covered them all the way to the bathroom to
try to win the game.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
Guys, Joe Burrow has beaten Mahomes in Kansas City. He's
beaten Allen Buffalo. He now has his biggest victory of
beating Fiona the Hippopotamus in his own city of Cincinnati.
Speaker 2 (24:57):
Let's take a look at the top ten. We see
the end of a rain here.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
This is voted by the readers of City Beat magazine
Top ten Best Cincinnatis.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
Then it is a grab bag. You got everything.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
But Pete Rose has been there sixty years, Anthony Munio
has been there probably close to fifty years. And they
got everybody from a Molly Wellman is a beloved mixologist
in Cincinnati, just mixing. They love Molly. They got Rose Levelle,
we know her from soccer. And then you got my guy,
Bob Herzog here, Good Morning Cincinnati, the Morning show, which
(25:29):
we love and respect kind of our brother and I
like the name of your show as well. But we
have here two verses. One a changing of the guard.
This is hip versus hippo. And if you know the
stature and the status of Fiona in that city. We
just got to get into it right now. It's a
national audience. It is a big deal in Cincinnati. Fjord
the Hippo born January twenty fourth, twenty seventeen, twenty nine pounds,
(25:53):
woefully underweight and premature, but she was a fighter. She
would not quit, and she became a symbol of pride
and resilience.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
Her father.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
Was thirty four, mother bb was seventeen. Sounds problematic to me,
but apparently the hippo community, no big deal. That's just
how that's how the sausage is made. And so once
she became the sensation in Cincinnati, it went national. The
New York Times declared Fiona Mania. Everyone is into Fiona
and they're instagramming it. They're checking on on her. She's
getting bigger. She had a little baby bottle, and again
(26:26):
she became kind of a symbol. They did a one
hour special in Cincinnati, an hour, not a half hour.
They said, we need a full hour for Fiona.
Speaker 2 (26:34):
About her. She was profiled in People magazine.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
Guys, she became like America's hippopotamus. And with that you
start to see a little bit of the attitude, a
little bit of this celebrity comes out. You know, she
sort of posed, you, sort of posturing domestically braised Nile hippopotamuses.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
They're just like us. She's in the tabs, started dating
John Mayer.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
She dropped an album and it was called Hippo Hop.
A lot of trips to polume. She had her own
fragrance and then of course guys with it brought celebrity scandal.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
All right, a little brother Fritz, the hip quo. That's
Fritz right there.
Speaker 1 (27:06):
Fritz kind of in this vein of what Karen Kolchan
used to be, or maybe El Fanning significantly less famous,
overlooked a little bit of frustration there, and she's just
kind of posing with them for the cameras and soda.
She's a big sister who knows if she is. And
then you want the real scandal. Fionda then shows a lover.
She did and her lover she decided to mate with
her stepfather, Tucker, and I don't know what the hell
(27:27):
kind of tiger king stuff this is, but this has
went on. Apparently it's totally kosher, and she made it
with the stepfather.
Speaker 4 (27:33):
There's a divorce and hippopotamous world I'm sorry, Peter.
Speaker 2 (27:36):
The divorce area.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
There was, yes, it was a very complicated. It was
a little bit like the Von Trapps meets the Versaces.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
And there were scandal, all kinds of stuff.
Speaker 1 (27:46):
New York Post ran a headline House of the Hippos
Zoo family drama as Fiona mates with Stepdad.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
That was an actual headline. I didn't make that one up.
Burrow just beat this.
Speaker 1 (27:55):
So you know what you do when you're a celebrity,
have massive scandal, you return to your core. You kind
of just strip it down. You say, I'm just gonna
take some time to myself. She is a Cincinnati She
is a bang fan. Remember she tops the lists that
does not include Barry Larkin, Carson Palmer, Ocho Cinco, none
of those people her. She likes the Bengals. This is
Cincinnati celebrity fan. This is their Ben Affleck, this is
(28:16):
their Paul Rudd. It is Fiona the dang Hippopotamus. And
in twenty eighteen she became a five year champion a
dynasty in Cincinnati as the most beloved. They voted Herover
Pete Rose over Anthony Munos, over any of those people.
And that run after five years has come to an
end at the hands of the Bengals quarterback. The Bengals
send the tweet you will always be our Queen.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
Fiona class grace.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
The Bengals now become accustomed to winning on the football
field as well as in the zoos. But I want
to know, like there's this push guys where they love
Burrow and Cincinnati. They are like, I don't know, I've
kind of team Fiona on this. I think they might
have messed it up. Let's do a tale of the tape.
Let's just look at them side by side. Fiona the
hippopotamus here, Joe Burrow here. A significant age difference twenty
years older for Joe, significant weight difference twenty three fifty
(29:04):
eight pounds for Fiona.
Speaker 2 (29:05):
We got Joe at a four to.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
Seven six speed fifteen miles prior.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
You know, hippos can really run.
Speaker 1 (29:11):
Joe's idol Drew Brees Fiona's king hippo, a famous pugilist
from the eighties, great defensive fighter. Only one best Cincinnati
titles for Joe Burrow, whereas again a five time champ.
So everyone's happy for Joe, but there's still team Fiona
right here. It is a big big win for Joe Burrow.
I think Fiona is determined, She is motivated. She is
(29:33):
a hungry, hungry hippo. She wants that crown back. Guys,
I go to the table. Did they get it right?
And are we seeing a rain here? Can Joe hold
off the Fiona hive that exists in the United States
of American Cincinnati.
Speaker 4 (29:47):
I think they got it right.
Speaker 2 (29:49):
You think they got it right. They got it right.
Speaker 7 (29:50):
Joe Burrow has earned his place. He didn't want a
Super Bowl, He and his place with the champe With Fiona.
I am fascinated by chapter two of Fiona's career. This
is the comeback. This is everything we root for. You know,
remember with Brittany, everyone would build her up, They tore
her down, and she came right.
Speaker 4 (30:03):
Back up like a rising phoenix.
Speaker 7 (30:05):
That's what I want to see out of Fiona the
hip hop. We know there's been scandal, we know that
there's been some salacious headlines. We heard about the step dad,
we heard about the age gap and the parents. Look,
just because the paparazzi caught Fiona doing some things does
not mean that we have to fall out of love
with her. I feel like Fiona is gonna have a
next chapter and she will be the Queen Cincinnati forever.
Speaker 4 (30:24):
But she will be the top top vote at her
next year.
Speaker 9 (30:26):
All right, p mccordy, I'm here for Joel, I'm here
for Fiona. I want a story on Fritz.
Speaker 2 (30:34):
The little brother.
Speaker 4 (30:35):
That's who.
Speaker 9 (30:35):
I want to know about a little bit of Rob Kardashian,
possibly with the sisters being a little bit more famous.
I want to know what Fritz is up to. I
want to know the scandals that he's.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
Stock company, that's what that's what they do.
Speaker 2 (30:47):
I feel for Fritz.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
Tucker of course, the stepdad, like he's a whole yes,
suspect character.
Speaker 2 (30:53):
He's got a reality show coming out.
Speaker 4 (30:55):
He shows up after she's already a star.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
Yes, Who's Fritz is dead? Is Fritz is dead? Tucker
is Fritz's dad? I feel like there's so much as
Half Brother Hall sequel? What do you got? What do
you got?
Speaker 5 (31:05):
James?
Speaker 3 (31:05):
I go, I go to the football despuite this wonderful
family photo between Fritz and Fiona. I go to football.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
What is uh?
Speaker 4 (31:13):
What was the magazine?
Speaker 3 (31:14):
What is the publication?
Speaker 2 (31:15):
Oh yeah, Cincinnati Beata Snatti beat. What are they trying
to do?
Speaker 3 (31:18):
Are they trying to test the quarterback market right now
because Joe Burrow has a contract coming his way, And
are they thinking that he doesn't He's not gonna need
guarantee money if he has voted best Cincinnati. So are
they trying to say, please, we love you here, you
are beloved, so you don't demand all of our money.
Leave some for the others so we can have the
Bengals team that we know and love like. I think
this is all just one big hoopla to get him
(31:39):
to stay.
Speaker 2 (31:41):
Couldness service?
Speaker 1 (31:41):
I have to I have to hand a couple of
thank yous to Rich Goldberg. This is God's worker. The
entire night. I have things in my email from our researcher,
Rich Goldberg that I got something about with the age
that reached the hippos reach their sexual.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
Maturity and I'm not even I want to burn it
with napalm. And it's in my email.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
Also, the Cincinnati Zoo send us pictures like hook this
up and you guys are so proud of your girl.
We love Fiona, we love Burrow, we love Cincinnati. Thank
you so much for that, everybody.
Speaker 4 (32:05):
Great job, well done, Kyle, well done.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
If there is no one that can unearth the best
in Sanatans like that, with class and grace.
Speaker 4 (32:11):
It's Kyle Brand.
Speaker 3 (32:13):
It's a journalism that it's mine as Please tell the
please tell all the care watching Why Girl,
