Speaker 1 (00:00):
Caitlin's Entertainment Report. He's on the Fred Show.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Are we still watching award shows?
Speaker 3 (00:05):
I don't know, but Kendrick Lamar has been nominated for
ten awards at the American Music Awards, including Artists of
the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year,
which you had to know was coming. Posts Malone follows
with eight, while Billie Eilish and Chapel Roane who we
just played, and Shaboozi have seven nods each. Taylor Swift,
who has the most AMA Awards in history, is also
up for six this year, and first time nominees is
(00:27):
a really good class, including Benson Boone, Dochi, Gracie Abrams,
Jelly Roll, Lola Young who I Love the Marias Rose,
Teddy Swims, Tommy Richmond Tyler, Sabrina Carpenter, and Zach Bryan.
The show airs on CBS and Paramount Plus on May
twenty six, if you're into that sort of thing. Still,
speaking of Benson Boone, he has one small request for
(00:47):
his haters. The singer was venting on TikTok, telling internet trolls,
if you hate me or my music, at least have
a good reason for it. He wants some constructive criticism.
He said, I just read a comment that says, I
don't know why I hate Benson, but it just feels right, Like,
what how am I supposed to improve after reading that?
Speaker 1 (01:04):
This is why you single?
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Right exactly, he's not, but that's.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Why he should be single? Then yeah he.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Should, Yeah, he should be.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
He then gave suggestions on things to hate on him for.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
So here's some examples.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
If you want to hate on him, you could write
he low key just flips everywhere?
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Can he do anything else?
Speaker 3 (01:22):
Or even like, I don't like his songs, even though
I'm basing my opinion off the one song that I've
heard over and over and over again, which he says
is super valid.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
Sucking good idea unless you were ripped off, or your
safety was at risk, or you were victimized in some
criminal way. How about if you think someone sucks, you
just don't take the time out of your day to
grab the phone and let him know, because it says
more about you than it does about them. That like,
it's like, oh, you suck so much that I took
(01:52):
the time to figure out how to get a hold
of the place where you work to tell you that
you suck. Yep, Like, how did people no point in
the process of doing that, whether it's a celebrity or
it's here or whatever else, at no point in that process.
Do you think I am such a loser for this?
Like you know, you know what I mean? Like, oh yeah,
I know what I'm going to do today. I'm going
to wake up and tell some unsuspecting people who have
(02:14):
nothing to do with me and didn't mean to do
anything to me how much I hate them.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Why, Like what does that accomplish?
Speaker 3 (02:21):
I always like to know, Like what were you looking
for out of this situation? Like did you want to
hurt me? Do you want to get into it with me?
Do you just want me to feel bad about myself?
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Like what? Because all the options there's not really a
great one. You know, what are you looking for? Or
do you just feel good saying mean stuff?
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Well?
Speaker 1 (02:36):
And that's what I mean.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
I like, So you you're the kind of person that
you would like to put your name on on how
much someone else sucks publicly and that somehow makes you
feel a certain kind of way, Like what does that
say about you? So my advice captain positivity in twenty
twenty five, So you can come in you can keep
hating on me. It's fine, But I'm just saying, maybe
think about what it looks like when you do that
to Benson Boone or whomever else, Like, what is it?
(02:58):
What are you actually accomplishing? Right?
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Who, by the way, is the nicest human.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
He's a very nice guy and he's like twenty two.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
He's a nice guy, he's really talented.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Leave him alone.
Speaker 5 (03:07):
It just this proves though, that is just like it
doesn't matter like people are going to be trolls just
because they want to be. When you're unhappy within yourself, yeah,
it radiates. It just comes out and take it out
on people on the internet. It's weird old behavior. But
I just will encourage people not to do it.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Let them.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
I just is this is Fred talking to his haters,
isn't it. No, I'm talking to all haters. You can
hate on me, honestly, it's part of the job. I
get it. I just don't I don't know what exactly.
It makes me feel sad for other people, Like you
go into comments of anyone as someone well this this
person's suck, not us, I mean anywhere whose person sucks?
Speaker 3 (03:38):
Right?
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Who sucks? Why did you follow them? Right?
Speaker 5 (03:41):
The nicest post and they're so safety, Like, well, then
why are you involved?
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Like if they sucking, the best thing you could do
is ignore that, go away.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
No one cares. I'm like, oh you speak for everyone?
Speaker 4 (03:49):
Oh god, I just, I just I would encourage folks,
and I don't think we don't have a lot of them,
because the people listen to us, for the most part,
are the finest folks around. But I would just say,
like it ultimate, it looks work looks worse on you
than it does for whatever you think you're accomplishing.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
So how about maybe don't.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Yeah and the whole you signed up for this thing?
Speaker 3 (04:07):
No, I just I just signed up to yap and
hopefully make someone smile, you know, with my friends.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
But yeah, like if we kind of show that woke
up every day and was like we're gonna spin it everywhere,
We're gonna we're gonna really get them going every day,
you know, like okay, then fine, but like we're not, no,
like we're coming here, like we try and make people smile, laugh, whatever.
Like it's just simple and if you don't like it,
that's fine. There's a lot there are other options. They're inferior,
but they're there right, you know, but like you know,
you just don't listen if you hate it. I guess
(04:34):
like you don't have to tell us you hate it too,
and then and then tell us why never listen again,
but then tell us every day why we saw there?
Speaker 2 (04:39):
You are back again? Yeah, Well, if you do like
it and you.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
Want more of yeah, nobody does.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
We suck type the Fred Show on demand and set
us as a preset on the free I heard radio
appe me.
Speaker 4 (04:48):
I'm basically Mel Robbins over here, like I am a
captain positivity in twenty twenty five.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Totally.
Speaker 4 (04:54):
You'll let them, let them be haters, let them, I
love I was telling you yesterday about all the parody
now and TikTok. It's like someone's drowning. Let them.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
You know, someone's choking.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
Let them. It's like, no, not let them, don't let
them joke blogs will do waiting by the phone.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
