Speaker 1 (00:12):
Well, well, welcome and everybody. It's Scott Wickley, it's Wicked
Bites on this Sunday morning. All is right with the
world right here. It's a little bit of snow last night.
I didn't expect you that woke up a little bit
of a dusting here in the North Bendover area. But
for the next two hours we're here to have a
lot of fun with you, and it's all about your
health as well. Last week on the program, we did

(00:34):
a whole episode on gift cards you would love to
like you received in the past and had special meaning
to you. Well, this time today, I just want to
find out and I'll open up the lines in just
a couple of moments a place that you'd really love
to get a gift card this season too. What a
restaurant would that be? All right? So that's going to

(00:54):
be our topic today for the next two hours till
twelve noon on Wicked Bites Radio right here on the
we're here every single Sunday between ten and twelve, and
of course we're back on Wicked Bites at night Saturday
nights here on WRKO from five to six pm next
Saturday night. We're going to be looking at and talking
with a lot of restaurant tours about some of their

(01:16):
holiday gift card promotions on the Saturday night show. So
don't miss it. Okay, that's all coming up next week.
And of course our television show, it's Wicked Bytes TV
Saturday mornings at eight thirty and Sunday nights at ten
p m. And if you missed yesterday's show, you want
to catch it tonight because we took it to a
fairly new restaurant. It's called Post nineteen seventeen. It's in

(01:37):
the post Office, the old post Office location in Reading
and it's a steakhouse, a great, great spot to see that.
Plus we took you out to a place in Denman
legacy place that does pizza cupcakes. Yeah you heard me right,
pizza cupcakes. So that's all coming up tonight ten pm
on Ness and now a lot of things I want

(01:58):
to talk about before we get going on today's program.
We're in the holiday season. I know a lot of
people out there Russian doing all their holidays shopping right now,
trying to get everything done as much as possible. I
got my tree up yesterday, so I feel like I'm
a head of the game. Although the distance between Thanksgiving
and Christmas this year is shorter because Thanksgiving it was

(02:20):
the furthest it could be in November, so we have
about a week less this year to get everything done.
But we are in the holiday season. I hope you're
feeling it now, right, I really do. I hope you
feel it. So we're gonna open up the phone lines
in just one second today, Carol's gonna take your name
and address off air because we will be awarding and

(02:41):
I'm gonna open up the pretty much our gift card
cabinet today try to get rid of a whole bunch
of gift cards that have been storing up. So I
have a couple of winners per hour on the program today,
but I'll be looking for a place that you really
would love to receive a restaurant holiday gift card or
to that place. That's the topic today. All right. We

(03:03):
have our psychic medium Kevin Cohen coming up a little
bit later on today, and this is the first show
that has not been sold out in probably about a
year and a half. So if you'd like to come today,
we actually have some seats that you could come and
enjoy Kevin today. The show starts at one pm. And
that's gonna be at the China Blossom in North Endover

(03:24):
and the cost is sixty dollars per person, but that
does include and all you can eat Chinese buffet a
head of the show, and people, believe me, get sixty
dollars of food right there, and it also includes the
tax and the tip and the show as well. All
you got to do is bring a photograph of somebody
who passed away and we put it on a table
out in front of him of Kevin, and he just

(03:45):
scans it and he does about fifteen readings or so
during the show. He does forty five minutes and takes
about a ten minute break and does another forty five minutes.
So this is a great opportunity and possibility for you
to be read at the Kevin Cohen show today. So
that's all coming up for the China Blossom. Kevin Cohen
I will be there hosting it. Carol will be there

(04:05):
as well, all starting at one p m. At the
China Blossom in North Andover. I hope to see you there.
So I've got no plans this afternoon, or you can
do shopping at before or after right, or just come
and relax and enjoy the show. A lot of people
come in to see Kevin and they don't bring photographs,
they don't want to be read. They just enjoy the

(04:26):
show because every time he does reading, it's like a
brand new story in a book. And he is so
incredibly accurate. It's kind of like mind blowing some of
the things that he will tell folks. It's kind of weird.
My years don't really pop up unless he's struggling with somebody,
and that's such a rare thing. And it really amazes
me after doing all these shows with Kevin, because he's

(04:49):
so targeted, you know, you know, he may come up
with something he doesn't quite understand and then he asks
a few more questions and then puts it all together.
But it is conversations you just had, and maybe conversations
when you were driving over to the show. He could
recite those conversations music that has been played. He actually

(05:11):
told people what streets they live on, what color their
homes are. He told somebody a couple of years ago
that this person comes up to him, particularly in their bedroom,
and he was describing that one of the drawers there,
you know, with the clothes in it. One of the

(05:32):
handles is loose and it keeps falling off, and Kevin says,
it's sort of like this glass knob. It's a kind
of unique, you know knob. And she was like, yeah,
you're You're absolutely right. I mean, it's just just incredible.
So that's all coming up at the China Blossom in
North End Over at one o'clock today. Again, we got
some open seats, so I hope to see you there.

(05:53):
It's cash only though, if you've got to come in,
that would just to help us get the crowded and
really quick because we'd like to have lunch first and
then the show. And I know people are gonna be stuffed, Yeah,
really stuffed with China Boston food because they're great. I
mean they do a oll you can eat Chinese buffet
seven days a week. They have lunch buffet that's what
we're gonna have today, and then later on they do

(06:15):
their dinner buffet that features prime rib and that's just
something truly outstanding. Of course, they have their my ties
and they do comedy on Saturday nights and Friday night.
They have a music in their lounge area. So that's
a China Blossom in North andover. I hope to see
you there at one o'clock with our psychic medium Kevin Cohen.
That will be in the house all right. Today's show

(06:36):
is brought you in part by Boston Salad and Prepared Foods.
They make those great side dishes, and I mean great
side dishes. A lot of delis throughout New England, especially
top delies throughout New England. If there's serving a sandwich,
right and they want a side dish to go along
with it, you know they're not gonna put up something
that's going to detract from their sandwich. They want something
extra special and that's what they have at Boston Salad

(07:00):
Prepared Foods. They use only the best and the finest
of products to put their side dishes together. So whether
you want their sessimy Asian noodle or their cranberry walnut
chicken seal, they got a tricolored tortelini. They got so
many great side dishes. And now they have desserts like
their blueberry Chris individual portions too, or their apple Chris.

(07:23):
You find that at market Basket. I know that there
are a lot of specialty markets throughout New England. To
find the location near you, The easiest thing to do
is go to their website, Bostonsoalad dot com, because they
have so many products and so many different products that
you know, not every specialty market carries all their stuff,
as you could imagine, but it is so good, and

(07:43):
you find a lot of butchers to Boston Salad and
prepared foods. Also brought to you in part by my
good buddy Mike Payne at Northeastern Fence and Supply Company
in Saugust. They make fencing for your kids, dogs and
ugly neighbors. All right, they have six acres of inventory,
they're one hundred percent satisfaction guarantee, and they've been they
want it for like a gazillion years. Yeah, I know,

(08:04):
a seventy eighty years. They've been doing it forever. Right,
that's Northeastern Fence in Supply Company and Mike Payne in Sagas.
So all right, let's open up the phone lines right now.
Where would you love to receive a holiday gift card?

Speaker 2 (08:17):
Two?

Speaker 1 (08:18):
And the number to call is eight eight eight four
three four sixty four sixty four. That's eight eight eight
four three four sixty four sixty four. And again, Carol's
going to take your name and address off air because
who knows, who knows? You know, you just may be
a winner, right, and we you know, we're gonna do

(08:39):
a couple of hours because I'm just in that festive
spirit today. And you know what, if you cheap, you
could probably regive some of these gift cards. But they're
great gift cards, all right. Eight eight eight four three
four sixty four sixty four. Where would you love to
receive a holiday gift card too? Which restaurant would that
be this holiday season? All right? Eight eight eight four
three four sixty four sixty four. Now we do stream

(09:01):
the show live up on Facebook wikabytes tv on Facebook.
And I see that that Mark chimed in already, he says,
mission Oak Grill in Newberry Report. I gotta agree with him.
That place is gorgeous. It's set in an old short
church by the way, with the stained glass. It's beautiful.
In Newbery Report, he says, it's it's very cozy, especially
around the holiday. On Black Friday, if you brought one

(09:21):
hundred dollars gift card, they matched it one hundred percent. Really, Oh,
I wish I knew that. So you got two hundred
dollars gift card for one hundred dollars. Wow. Wow, that's incredible.
Just a beautiful, beautiful restaurant right there in New Report.
It's not in the water, it's it's off about about
a mile, but it's in the downtown area. But it

(09:42):
is truly, truly spectacular Mission Oak Grill in Newberry Report.
Come on, folks, got some open lines right now? Eight
eight eight four three four sixty four sixty four is
our number? All right, pretty easy topic. Where would you
love to receive a holiday gift card to? Eight four
three four sixty four sixty four. Now, I got to

(10:06):
tell you our Wicked Bites Christmas party that's coming up
this week. We're gonna be at Felipo Restaurante in the
North End of Boston. I can't wait to get there
because we have a great staff. Everybody loves being together
and the holidays, just getting together with our staff and
having fun. Especially at Filipo's in Boston. There's nothing finer.

(10:27):
It is so so cool because we take that back
room on the first floor and they could close the
doors right behind the bar the lounge area, and it
holds about twenty five people in there. So our entire
staff we just take that back room and we just
have a great time. Maybe we'll go live up on Facebook,
you know. So that's on Wednesday night, so you may
see the Wicked Byites crew just popping up and on

(10:51):
Facebook this week at restaurant at Filipo. And I don't know,
I've been trying to think what I'm gonna have. I mean,
I've been on a diet for a period of time.
I actually went out to lunch yesterday, and you know,
I normally, yeah, you go out to a restaurant, I
really really enjoy going out grabbing something to eat. I'm
just so in the diet mood right now that you know,

(11:13):
I really didn't enjoy I wanted. I had a burger
and I think I ended up chopping up half of
the bond And just you know, I don't think I
broke my diet, to be honest with you. I'm down
twenty seven point one pounds in nine weeks and tomorrow's
my way in, so I'm hoping to get very close
to that there. I actually lost three pounds over the
Thanksgiving holiday. Could you believe that? I was stunned? Myself?

(11:37):
Transition Medical weight Loss in Salem, New Hampshire and they
have just it really educated me. So when I go
out to eat too, I know what to do and
I know how to eat. The key is really eating
throughout the day, right, so you're keeping your body running.
But it's a doctor regulated plan. I get these twelve shots,
I get probiotics, I get vitamins, I got all that

(11:58):
type of stuff and and meal meal replacements because they
have like six hundred different meal replacements that you could
get there, and you know some from area restaurants. Rigatoni's
Cevoi samar is also another one that that has some
of their items there and you just in the morning,

(12:19):
I had pancakes, right, Yeah, I had pancakes averages about
every morning. It's one of my favorites. There's another one.
They have like an egg and it's I'm gonna say
it's it's not like a sausage, but it's like a
turkey sausage sandwich. I'll rotate between those two. Sometimes I'll
have a cheeseburger for lunch and dinner. I don't know.
I had shrimp the other day that was that was

(12:40):
really good. I had pizza not to not to. I
actually really like love their pizzas. Now it's it's produced
for them from a place called Clean Kitchen that does
their pizzas, and then then you're having like I'm in
like chocolate candy bars throughout the day. So it's been great.
I Transition Medical Weight Loss in Salem, New Hampshire, and
even through the holidays, I'm losing weight, hoping to get
to that thirty pound mark. All right, So well, I'll

(13:03):
let you know. I'll let you know next week if
I made it. So it's it's it's one of those
things that you know I did.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
I did.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
I think three months ago I was going to get
down this this low no and my goal weight. I've
actually hit it, but I increased it five more pounds
because it's been so easy, right, so I figure, you know,
then I got a five pound lee weigh right when
it come off the diet, as they teach you, you know,
how to go back and not put the weight back on.
Transition Medical Weight Loss in Salem, New Hampshire. Are right,

(13:31):
Let's get to the phone calls. Eight eight eight four
three four. While I was just going to get to
the phone calls, we just lost our phone calls eight
eight eight four three four sixty four sixty four is
our number. We got open lines right now. For some reason,
all the lines just dropped out right as I was
about to hit hit them. So UH be dialing right

(13:51):
now because you got a good chance to win a
gift card on us this year. And it's an easy,
easy topic. Where would you love to receive a holiday
gift card to this season? All right? Eight eight four
three four sixty four sixty four is our number now.
In PVD on Root One's South there is a really

(14:15):
special place, especially if you love bedroom furniture right, but
you want really the good stuff, right, solid hardwood furniture.
You know, whether it's for the nursery, whether it's for
your bedroom or the kids rooms. Bedrooms, that's the name
of place called Bedrooms on Root one South and pvty
is the place to go. Say hi to Gary when

(14:36):
you go in there. They have some of the best
prices there as well. And wait till you see their
bunk beds if you have kids or grandkids. I can't
think of a finer gift to get them this season.
And then you know one of their bunk beds at
Bedrooms they are just like I don't know, I don't
call it like Disney world. I mean, they're amazing. There's

(14:56):
like little hideouts, the little hideaways inside the bed frame
they have. They even have places where you could store
like the clothes for the kids, maybe a ladder going
up to the second bunk bed and they're all covered
and there's slides on some of it. It's really amazing.
You got to go in and see it. It's called
Bedrooms and it's on Root one southbound and PbD. In

(15:18):
addition to that, for the adults, well, they got great mattresses,
high quality too, I'm telling you, and again at the
best prices. They have a showroom of cert of mattresses
I Comfort and Perfect Sleeper mattresses along with justible basis
and best of all, they have zero percent financing and
set up and delivery is available. It's called bedrooms. Again,

(15:38):
say had to Gary Root one southbound in PbD. All right,
I'm waiting for Carol or catch up on the calls
that are all coming in right now. Let me take
a quick sip of coffee if you don't mind. Got
a little tickle in the throat today. Of course with
the snow on the ground, that's doing it right. We're
gonna go to Bob from Bob in Londonderry. First on

(16:00):
the program today, Bob, Welcome the Wicked Bites. Hello Bob, Bob,
Bob going once? Oh, I lost Bob. So let's see
we can figure out what's going on with the phone calls.
We'll give Carol a second. The line seemed to be
dropping out on us today, so we'll figure it out.

(16:22):
Eight eight eight four three four sixty four sixty four
is our number, and we're gonna go to Mark in
just one second. Carol's just finishing screening the the phone call,
so let's go to Mark in Salem, New Hampshire. Mark,
You're gonna be first up on the restaurant program today. Hey, Mark,
Welcome to the Wicked Bites.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (16:43):
Hello.

Speaker 5 (16:44):
If I had to pick a place for a you know,
a gift cred wrestler, I would say Machi Is at Winchester.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
Lue Cheers and Winch. Yeah, you know that is. It's
a fantastic restaurant. It's one of my places I always recommend.
What makes it so special for you, Mark.

Speaker 5 (16:59):
I just love you know, the atmosphere. Usually sit by
the window and it's just you know, they always have
a good crowd, just the food, is just delicious, and
they really you know, they're really into it. It's not just
the like servant that they you know, they really they
really enjoy what they're doing. I guess I have to
go with it, put it, yeah, and always have a
good time there and always feel very welcome and just

(17:21):
like it.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
Yeah, it really is one of those special places if
you ask me. And uh, and and they've done so
much work throughout the years just to keep update. Every
time I seem like I go in there, they do
something new, whether two years ago they did the floor
to ceiling windows that they redid, they redid, uh about

(17:43):
two years ago. Sometimes they'll go in, they'll tile the floor.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
There's so much that they that they have done over there,
it really is. It's amazing. And the food, as you
mentioned spot on, it's great. And they make their own
terram a suit for dessert.

Speaker 5 (17:59):
Oh yeah, yeah, it's that's delicious.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
Everything's good.

Speaker 5 (18:02):
Yeah, it's not your typical, you know, chain restaurant. You
get four walls and ceilings like.

Speaker 6 (18:06):
You said that, they of course just so kind of
unique to that place.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
It's just yeah, great, yep, yeah, And it's a it's
a true it's one of the first North End restaurants
that they moved back, they moved out, well, they didn't
move out, they open up their second location.

Speaker 5 (18:18):
All right, get the win Chester on the North End,
that's for sure.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
And you don't have to, you know, the fight for
the parking. There is parking there. I mean it may
not be like you know, right out in front there's
meter parking, but there's municipal parking lots, and it only
doesn't cost you like a dollar and sometimes it's free,
you know. At now compared to going into the North
End of Boston fighting to get in there.

Speaker 5 (18:38):
What less stress?

Speaker 1 (18:39):
Oh, a ton less stress. All right, great, great recommendation.
It's Lucia's and they are located in Winchester. Thank you
very much for your phone call. Mark. Let's run over
to uh We're gonna go to Maureen and Raymond, New
Hampshire next. Maureen, welcome to Wick of Fights. Good morning,

(19:01):
good morning.

Speaker 7 (19:02):
I'm just gonna tell you about tuck Away all tell
me about it.

Speaker 8 (19:08):
Oh the best ever ever ever?

Speaker 1 (19:14):
Yeah, I know they Yeah, I haven't been to Tuckaway
Tavern in a long time, but boy they I know
they handcut their steak tips right there. Uh, and they're
they're they're really really popular. Plus they got their own
market where you could buy it right there as well
and bring it home and make it.

Speaker 9 (19:32):
Oh, I know, I know.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
It's it's a great, great restaurant, a great restaurant. Tory
he was one of those celebrity chefs and he's opened
up a couple of other places as well. Uh and
it's an award winning steakhouse, so uh so. Yeah. So
it's called Tuckaway Tavern and they are located again that's
in Raymond, New Hampshire. But it is a very good recommendation.

(19:56):
I would I would second that recommendation as well.

Speaker 10 (20:00):
Yes you have to go.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
All right, all right, thank you me, no new one,
you got it. Thank you very much for your phone call.

I went to a restaurant for the first time. It
was called New Roles n E W ro l i
Apostrophes in Westward. It's to eighty two Washington Street once
a month on Thursday nights from sixty eight. This Chaz combo.

(20:48):
The Winnaker brothers, Bill and Bow and Neil Green. Don't
know if you know the Winnakers.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
I know, I do not.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
Oh they've been playing since oh god, since this sixties.
In their eight seventies. Bill plays drums bol please, I
think it's tennis, saxophone horn. Neil Green play's digital piano
and they do it jass from six to eight once
a month. And at this place is the great. My

(21:17):
favorite is spaghetti bollionnaise. And I like their lemon cello,
and I like their what do you the espresso coffee.
I like their terry messieux. And they even made me
garlic bread. They don't have it on the menu, but
the chef made it for me special. They asked me,
are you the blind piano tuners they called the radio.

(21:39):
I said yeah, and they said yeah, give them some
make them some garlic bread.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
Wow. Yeah, And I have a feeling that garlic bread
is excellent.

Speaker 11 (21:47):
Now.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
I have not been to their restaurant. Their restaurant is
fairly new I've been to their marketplace which is right
next door Narrolei Mercado, and I thought that was they
made some sandwiches in there that were on their meatball sandwich.
Was was just incredible that they had there, but a

(22:08):
lot of Italian specialty items that they have in the marketplace.
When I was there last, this had to be two
years ago at the right around this time, they were
just in the process of opening up their restaurant, and
I've heard wonderful things about it.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
Yeah, that's me too, I mean, and the ride goes
to I didn't think it would, but I need the
but it goes here. Sometimes you have to transfer the yep.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
No, but great recommendation. It's called let's tell everybody the
name of the restaurant again.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
It's New Roleies any w r L I apart to ps.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
Right and it's right there on Washington Street and that's.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
A laity to eighty two Washington.

Speaker 1 (22:56):
Got it all right? Thank you very much for your
phone called Glenn, Happy Holiday. That is a great recommendation.
And their marketplace, Narroly Mercado is at two seventy four
Washington Street and Westwood, so right next door to it all.
Let me take a quick break here, we'll come back
with more phone calls. I want to know where would

(23:16):

It's big and they have a rear variety food. They
have great Brussels Stroud aside. We're going next to get
some friends and.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
Where are they located in Essex? Yeah? You know, I
believe that's the one. I said. I don't know if
that's one one thirty three. I've driven by it. Probably
a billion times. They and they did a beautiful job
because I didn't notice it until about three four years ago,

(25:44):
and it seems like they, you know, they did just
a beautiful job fixing it.

Speaker 12 (25:48):
All up their hand yet to successful too.

Speaker 1 (25:52):
Oh all right, that's good to hear. That's good to hear.
All right. It's called the boat House. Uh. And how
are their prices at the boat House? Growth average average prices?
All right, But it's great any time of year, probably
this time of year it's a lot easier to get to.

Speaker 8 (26:12):
It's great.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
Yeah, all right, got it, all right, Jane, thank you
very much for your phone call. Let's run over to
Norwell next and we're going to talk with Nancy. Nancy,
welcome to Wick of Bites.

Speaker 13 (26:23):
Hi, good morning. I'm calling Regardding. I'd love to have
a gift certificate for this holiday season for the Sun
Tabin restaurant located in Duxbury.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
Okay, tell me about the Sun Tavern.

Speaker 13 (26:35):
Oh, it's a small little restaurant. It looks like a
house from outside a cape, but it's a beautiful country
restaurant on the inside. The foods just outstanding, the whole
functions for this holiday timing year, you can have a
bridal shower, anniversary, get together for Mother's Day, future planning

(26:56):
type thing, babyswurs.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
All of it.

Speaker 13 (26:58):
It's beautiful. Wow, food's excellent, the salmon is great.

Speaker 14 (27:05):
Uh.

Speaker 13 (27:05):
They also have a lob story of Veoli. It's just
one of the most It's a quiet, elegant experience.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
Yeah, I'm looking at I've heard of it. I don't
think I've been to the Sun Tavern in Docksbury, but
i i it looks like a would you call it
that Cape Cod cottage type of.

Speaker 13 (27:28):
Plenty parking right off the highway. Yeah, you look, it
looks deceiving from the outside going as excellent ensign. The
service is good, the food is good. You have to
put it on your holiday experience this year. It's a
great place for Valentine's dinner.

Speaker 6 (27:45):
Uh.

Speaker 13 (27:46):
Yeah, consider it.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
More of an upscale dining a little bit.

Speaker 13 (27:53):
No, they also have a on the button and more
type of entrees too, so it's a little both both places.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
Okay, all right, and.

Speaker 13 (28:04):
Really nice in it fire place setting.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
What would you suggest or what did maybe you had
the last time you were at the Sun Tavern in Duxbury.

Speaker 13 (28:13):
Well, they do do the traditional New England lobster role.
They have that, and then they have the Lobster Reveoli. Okay,
all right, yeah plenty great great good food, great good service,
great good hospital people.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
But that would be a great place to receive a
holiday gift card too. It does sound like it, all right.
It's called the Sun Tavern. It's at five hundred Congress
Street in Duxbury, correct, got it? All right? Thank you
Nancy for your phone call. Great recommendation. I love those
places that are are are so unique. I'm going to
probably have to feature them on the television show coming up,
maybe in the spring, because I think the atmosphere when

(28:54):
they have like a little bit of a picket fence
out in the front, so when their grass greens up
and the trees start, you know, we've got a little
while here, we haven't just getting into the winter time.
Might be great to feature on the television show. It
looks like a really a comfortable place and a cozy
place to go. It's called the Sun Tavern at five
hundred Congress Street in Duxbury. I andover we go next

(29:16):
on this holiday episode of Wicked Bites. We're gonna go
to Veronica and and over Hey, Veronica, welcome.

Speaker 15 (29:24):
Good morning, How are you very good? I'm calling because
I a restaurant in ticks Ferry Alceresca. Yes, I've heard
of it, restaurante. It's at seventeen eighty eight Main Street.
And I'll tell you what the best shrimp fardiavo I
have ever had is. I like hot, I like Mexican

(29:48):
and hot food, and that is excellent, please me. And
everything they serve there, and I don't know if you're familiar,
they do have a shop in that complex where they
self prepared foods and Italian foods and spreads and everything,
and that's great to appear out Christmas shopping and don't
have time to cook. I'll tell you what, you get

(30:09):
some good food there, right.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
They even do pizzas and subs there in their specialty market.
And it is a large, good size specialty market. A
lot of Italian specialties you could find there. Really it's
a grocery store, you know, that's what it is.

Speaker 15 (30:25):
Yeah, the desserts as well, everything and even.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
Items from the restaurant they do have there as well,
right in the marketplace. Yeah, but the restaurant bully that restaurant.
I was there one time and I don't know the
name of the dish, but they had this lobster dish.
It was like a lobster tail and the tail they
kind of put it into a bowl and it was

(30:51):
beautiful to see and it tasted spectacular, just outstanding. I
think the dog's want to fight over it now, right.

Speaker 15 (30:58):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, so yeah, that's a great place. And
just wanted to give a quick call and tell you
got it. Recommend them all right.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
Thank you very much for your phone call. Say hi
to your grandson for us. It's Alfresco Restaurant Day and
the marketplace they're looking at Route thirty eight in Tewkesbury
at seventeen sixty eight Main Street in Tewkesbury. Again, that's
Route thirty eight Alfresca Restaurant Day and right next door
is their marketplace. And I'm telling you it is really
something special. I know you're going to really love it

(31:31):
when you go in there and experience it. The restaurant
gets a lot of praises on this program. I mean
a lot we get coming in for them. It truly
is an amazing place. And I didn't know about it
the restaurant personally until about a year and a half ago,
and We featured their marketplace on the TV show and

(31:54):
we went into the restaurant for a little brief segment.
I just fell in love with it. So Martini there
is excellent. By the way, if you like espresso, martiniz right,
just absolutely perfect. All right, restaurante, Well, I would say
Elfresco restaurante is the correct way of saying it. In Tewksbury.
Eight eight eight four three four sixty four sixty four

(32:17):
is our number. I'm looking for places that you would
love to receive a holiday gift card to this season,
all right, eight eight eight four three four sixty four
sixty four. I know one place a lot of people
would love to get a holiday gift card too. That
would be the Pearl Street station in Malden. This is
a place that, yeah, it could be a casual dining

(32:40):
if you consider it that way. Right, it's a great place. Today,
the games are going to be going on. They have
about twenty television sets. You could watch all the games
they got, all the football games that will be happening.
So if you play fantasy football, you could watch how
poorly your teams are doing. Right, I know your players
are doing. I mean I've killed a lot of careers
in fantasy sports and I'm doing the same this year too.

(33:01):
But you go to the Pearl Street Station and have fun, right,
have a couple of drinks and drown your sorrows with
if you like to do that, or maybe grab a table.
Then get for dessert. There they have this fried ice
cream and the fried ice cream is the size of
your head. It's so good. There. Yeah, the Pearl Street
Station and Malden, they also have pizza and a full menu,
but they're pizzas. You could just pick it up if

(33:24):
you want to bring it home, and you don't even
have to walk into the restaurant. It's right before. There's
a door right before you get into the main part
with the lounges of the restaurant, and that's where they
have their pizza. But inside you get items like barbecue
steak tips, baby back ribs. They got a famous combo
plata platter there that is you know, it features a
whole bunch of meats that are just excellent. Right, It's

(33:45):
called the Pearl Street Station, fifty three Summer Street in Malden.
Say hot Alan Robot for us, and you know what,
whatever you do, get the fried ice cream for dessert.
I'm telling you it is excellent. Right eight eight eight
four three four sixty four sixty fours aren't number? That's
got a mic and woolburn next, Mike, Happy holidays.

Speaker 14 (34:04):
Hi, Marry Christmas, Scott.

Speaker 2 (34:06):
How you doing.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
I'm doing fantastic. Where would you love to receive a
holiday gift card too?

Speaker 14 (34:12):
I would recommend the Bridgerate Inn and Restaurant in Motsfield,
red on humm Rock Beach.

Speaker 2 (34:19):
Curry.

Speaker 14 (34:20):
It's right a little water in the river there. Beautiful,
great food, excellent service, ambiances excellent.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
Yeah they yeah, they beating bath.

Speaker 14 (34:32):
You know, I'm on the North Shold, but I love
it down there. It's nice place.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
Yeah, they really do well as far as callers to
the restaurant program time and time again. They in the
atmosphere and everybody raised about the the quality of the food.
I have not had an opportunity to go out and
visit them yet, but I definitely want to put that
on my my to do list to go out there and.

Speaker 14 (34:57):
You know, maybe on springtime or summer. Beautiful there outside,
a nice outside dining area.

Speaker 6 (35:03):
Yeah, it can't go wrong.

Speaker 14 (35:05):
It's little in a you know above it it's a
quaint little area. It's it's it's nice. Yeah, you know,
I think it's worth going.

Speaker 1 (35:12):
I do too, But you know, I I love it
this time of year too myself because you could get
there without the crowds, if you know what I mean.
And if you go there early enough you can enjoy
the outside view anyways.

Speaker 14 (35:26):
Yeah, you're like, it's like a full minute walk to
the beach. You can, you know, you watch the beach
after ice cream. But it's nice, quaint little area. I
think it's definitely worth checking out.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
It's called Pacari's Bridgeway In and I have them at
twelve sixty five Ferry Street in Marshfield. And it's a
large place. It's it's it is, it's there's plenty of seats,
let's say. Let's say that right.

Speaker 14 (35:52):
Yeah, it's always you know, there's always a good vibe
in there. Everybody's happy. It's just nice, nice place to
go and have a nice meal and Jill enjoy the water.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
I recommend Scott Hi, great, great call. Thank you very
much for your phone call against Bacari's Bridgeway In and
it's located in Marshfield a beautiful place as well. Let's
jump down to Hingham. Next, I'm going to talk with Lonnie. Lonnie,
Happy Holidays. Oh I gotta press a button. Let me

(36:23):
do that again, Lonnie. Have you holidays.

Speaker 8 (36:25):
Happy holidays to you too, Scott.

Speaker 14 (36:28):
Thank you, Scott.

Speaker 8 (36:31):
Yes, I've heard so much about the China Blossom from
you and I've never been, and I'd love to win
a guest cut there.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
No, I'm telling you that is a great place, the
China Blossom. A little bit of a ride. Well everywhere
is a little bit of ride from Hingham, right.

Speaker 8 (36:48):
Well, I'll have a family member help me out with that. Yeah,
but that's my favorite quissine is Chinese food, so I
really would like to test it out. Yeah, you know
as great as you say.

Speaker 1 (37:01):
Well, what I like about the China Blossom and I
is I love their dinner buffet because yeah, they do
have Chinese delicacies up you know, on their buffet. But
they have prime rib and I'm telling it, with that
ojue sauce they have, it's a good cut of prime rib.

(37:21):
And I've gone there in the past and just had
the prime rib. They even have like crab legs there
and everything. So they do really well and it's one
of my favorite spots, especially for a Chinese buffet. I
I can't think of any place like it, and they
were one of the first to do it, especially the
prime rib and even a peel and each trim. And

(37:42):
then now they have a ice cream station you know
are there as well, so you can make your own
ice cream Sundays. So you're gonna fill up, Lonnie. So
you got you're gonna have to You're gonna have to
like starve yourself to take advantage of it when you go.

Speaker 8 (37:56):
In that wonderful loves to go.

Speaker 1 (38:00):
All right, Linnie, thank you for your phone call. That's
a China blossom. And they're located on Route one twenty
five in North Andover and I will be there shortly
with Kevin Cohen show coming up at one pm today
or Psychic Medium, I am looking forward to that. His
shows are always just and I've never been read. I'm

(38:21):
just too chicken looking On our Facebook page Wickabyites TV
on Facebook, Donna chimes in she would love to receive
a holiday gift card to Renos in East Boston. Renos
is one of those little spaces then little places in
East Boston that is extra special and their portions are huge.
Their chicken parmesan is enormous as well. You will see

(38:42):
a line that will form outside of Renos about twenty
minutes before they open up. Yeah, because they'll fill right
up from that line and then there'll be a wait list.
And it's amazing to see and experience and I have
done it. I have done it. And the food there
is x as well. The only thing I'm gonna give
you a little bit of advice when you go to

(39:02):
Renos and you have to go to the bathroom, you're
gonna think you walked into the kitchen. I'm telling you.
It's gonna oh did I go through the right door?
Because you open that door and you know the bathrooms
to the to the right and right to the left,
that's where the kitchen is. And they're all cooking in

(39:23):
the back and there's like six or seven of them
right there working really hard at Renos. But it is
a really a great place and they're located in the
East Boston. So great recommendation. All right, let me take
a quick break here. We're going to come back with
more on today's program. I'm looking for that place you
would love to see receive a holiday gift card to

go out and spend money. That's what we're gonna do
this holiday season. But we do that every holiday season,
and really here in New England, especially with last night
it's a little bit of snow that kind of covered
the ground. You just you feel like you're in this season, right,
So I guess it's all appropriate. Right here. We are

(43:44):
December eighth, and it's the holiday season. I let me
get back to the phone calls right now on Wicked
Bytes Radio. We're looking for places that you would love
to receive a holiday gift card too this season. To
which restaurant eight eight eight four three four sixty four
sixty four is our number. Let's go to Phil in
the thill in next Phil, Welcome to the Wicked Bites.

Speaker 4 (44:06):
Good morning, Scott.

Speaker 14 (44:07):
How are you.

Speaker 1 (44:07):
I'm doing excellent, Phil. A little bit cold, but I
guess that's to be expected, right.

Speaker 4 (44:12):
Comes with the season. Yeah, yeah, well, Chri's a previous
call of mentioned Prime Rib and the Phoenician came to
my mind. Yeah, I would have you know that. Yeah,
I also love bit at least in food too, So
you know, my wife will get the prime where I
get some grape leaves and hullis and we'd both be happy.

Speaker 23 (44:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (44:32):
You know, my dad has been after made it bring
him to the Phoenician restaurant. I was going to do
that last week and things got out of got too busy.
I'm gonna bring my wife and I and my mother
and father. We're gonna go to the Phoenician within the
next week and a half or so. He can't beat
their prime rib. Their prime rib is excellent. My wife

(44:53):
loves their bake stuff shrimp. She thinks they have the
best bake struck stuff shrimp period. They have that walnut
stuff in they're famous for you can't find anywhere else.
And it's just it's just a great place. And I
love the handcut fries, the boot.

Speaker 2 (45:09):
He yes, excellent.

Speaker 4 (45:10):
And plenty of parking, plenty of space. It's been there
for you know, for a long time. Yeah, people from Bishops.
Cooks from Bishops opened it up. So it's you know,
it's so stillble for a reason. It's excellent, right, good food,
food service.

Speaker 1 (45:26):
Right and for folks. It's located at twelve out the street.
It's off a route four ninety five only about it,
not even a mile off of four ninety five. But
it's more in a residential area. And it's such a
large place too, because they have the function room in
the back where they do weddings and shows and stuff
like that. Comedy shows are often there. But to do

(45:48):
so well. They've been there probably twenty years at this point, right,
and they're they're doing they're doing really well. And it's
a large restaurant there, and they do prime rib every
night of the week. It's not just a specialty thing,
that's what they specialize in. It's every night of the week.

Speaker 4 (46:10):
Yeah, they have a lobster and they have you know,
they have something for everybody. Yeah, it is on that
that's I think that's through one Kennel thirteen right along
the river, you know, you know, between four ninety five
and Merrimack Street, methu and it's it's uh set back
nicely and it's uh, you know, it's not far from
the highway, as you.

Speaker 1 (46:30):
Said, right, easy to get to and plenty of parking,
uh and just great, great, great food, especially if you
love prime. I don't know about you, Phil, I've never
been able to tempt anything larger than their Queen cut
because their King cut it here is like three pounds.
It's just I can't finish the Queen cut with those
handcut fries and the Syrian bread and sal that I

(46:50):
always get.

Speaker 4 (46:52):
Yeah, we do the Queen and we always take them
home as well. And it does heat up basically, believe
it or notough the next day. You wouldn't take, you know,
for prime word, but it does taste just as good
the next day.

Speaker 1 (47:03):
Yeah, no, it's it's shockingly heats up. Well. I was
surprised the first time I did that. I don't know
if they gave you a little bit of a jue
sauce and all I did was put it into a
frying pan and I kind of seared it on one side,
flipped it over, and then poured the Oju sauce on
top of it, and it just sucked it all in
and it brought it back to life. I was surprised

(47:25):
how how good the leftovers were.

Speaker 4 (47:28):
To salivate into the know, if you have room, I
think they still have.

Speaker 1 (47:35):
Yes, what is sarve. Yeah, and they used Richardson's ice cream.
It's excellent. I feel thank you very much for your
phone call. Happy holidays. The Phoenician Restaurant just off Route
four ninety five at twelve Alpha Street in Haveril, and
there is a ton of parking there a right eight
eight eight four three four sixty four sixty four. You know.
A great place to receive a holiday gift card too,

(47:57):
is Finbar Griffin's place. It's in Share and it's called
mcmorgan's Irish Pub and Restaurant. It's right on Root one
about what's less than two miles from the stadium. I
could tell you that, and it is truly spectacular if
you see this place and go in and experience it
for yourself. First of all, it's like two stories when
you go inside and there's Irish memorabilia everywhere. Every inch

(48:21):
of the walls and the ceiling are covered by authentic
Irish memorabilia. Some cost over two thousand dollars apiece. And
when he was putting together the restaurant decorating it, he
spent a lot of time researching what he wanted to
put in there, and he was able to get all
this authentic stuff from Ireland, Donald Pictures and you know

(48:42):
Dennis memorabilia and everything. It's just amazing to see in
their food. Well it's Irish American cuisine and it's so societ.
It's called mcmorgan's Irish Pub and Restaurant. It's located on
Root one in Share. I quick break here for the news.
We'll be back with more.

Speaker 23 (48:55):
This is what the bius.

Speaker 1 (49:08):
Yeah, and this is Scott Quickly and this is Wicked
Bites the restaurant program until twelve noon today, We're gonna
open up the phone lines again this hour. Last hour
is really busy. Got open lines right now, give out
the phone number. In just a second. I'm going to
give out our winners as well. But I'm missing Carol.
She went up to get ready for our Kevin Cohen show,

(49:30):
so she'll be back in a second. We're going to
get our phone calls going again this hour, and we'll
have our winners from the first hour as well, so
don't worry. I'm gonna give away a couple of prizes
each hour on the program, and the topic is I
want to know what restaurant would you love to receive
a holiday gift card to this season. What's your favorite

(49:51):
restaurant I guess is what's going to come down to
be right, or maybe it's just a special place, or
maybe it's one of those places that you don't go
to that often that you think would be a great
place to get to go to. All right, So that's
going to be our topic this hour on the Restaurant
Program till twelve noon, and again we have our psychic
medium Kevin Cohen at the China Blossom in North End,

(50:14):
over coming up at one o'clock today, so a little
less than two hours. We have some open seats and
this is the first time I think I've talked about
Kevin's show on that actually have open seats going into
a show. Normally, I don't really get to talk too
much about the show because it's always full. And today

(50:38):
we actually have a couple of open phone LA open seats.
I'm sor I'm talking to Carol at the same time,
just telling her, right, I need winners for this hour,
but we got a couple of open seat with plenty
of open seats actually for today's program for Kevin's show,
and I love to see you come there. At sixty
dollars per person, he's a psychic meem. He's world famous.
They wrote a book about Kevin's life and it just

(50:59):
came out the last show we did about three weeks ago,
which was completely sold out at the China Blossom. They
brought the books there and the author came as well,
and it's just interesting to find out how he got
the gift, how he could talk to people who have
passed away, and it's truly amazing. And I've done probably
more than one hundred shows with Kevin and I've always

(51:21):
been stunned. And most of his shows are sold out,
so this is a great opportunity to see him. You
bring a photograph of somebody who passed away, and not everybody.
We'll bring photographs you know of people who have passed
passed away. They'll just go to come and see the show.
But it all starts at one o'clock today. It starts
with it all. You can eat Chinese lunch buffet at

(51:42):
the China Blossom and you could sit together. So if
you want to bring a couple of friends, you grab
a table and you could see Kevin show. Just bring
a photograph, one per person if you'd like to as
somebody who passed away. We'll put it on a table
out in front of Kevin. He does about fifteen readings
after the lunch and it's just just to make and information.
Then he'll tell you they cost again a sixty dollars,

(52:03):
but that includes the lunch, the tax, the tip, and
the show. So it's a great deal and it's all
the China Blossom today coming up at one p m.
I hope to see you there because Carol and I
will be there with Kevin Cohen Show. And of course
that's gonna be a last one this year, right because
it's only a couple of weeks left of the year.
We'll probably start up again in March to see Kevin.

(52:23):
So this is one of your last opportunities to see
him this year, and it's really amazing. Premiere on Broadway
is a great restaurant, especially if you would love to
get some gift cards to some folks out there as
far as well, if you want to go out there
and get gift cards someplace especial to give to somebody,

(52:44):
Premiere on Broadway in Summerville is one of those places.
It's an Italian American eatery with signature cocktails. They got
a Sunday brunch that is truly spectacular. Even have their
own cocktails there as well, and it is it's just
amazing to experience this restaurant. It's called Premiere on Broadway.

(53:06):
They're famous for their orange Chinese. It's Grandma's secret recipe. Yeah,
they put a little bit of cheese in it. I'll
tell you that I love them too. There their chicken
parmesan is enormous, enormous, and it's so so good. It's
called Premiere on Broadway at five seventeen Broadway in Somerville,
and say Saturday, Corinne when you go in there. Today's

(53:26):
show is brought to you by a Northeastern fence and
supply company, my good buddy Mike Pain. They're located in Saugust.
They make fencing for your kids, dogs and ugly neighbors.
Walter brought you in part by Boston Salad and Prepared Foods. Now,
with the holiday season here, you got to think about
folks coming over the house right and making dinner maybe

(53:47):
for the family. Boston's Oud and Prepared Foods. They make
those great side dishes and it's available a lot of
specialty markets. If it's not at your favorite specialty market,
asport tell them to get it all right. Boston's out
and prepared foods. You can find a lot of butcher shops.
Market Basket stocks several of their products, including their apple
crisp and blueberry crisp, which is individual portions, and I

(54:09):
highly recommend it. Boston salad and prepared food. They make
it in small batches. It's always fresh. It's made right
here in Boston as well. All right, let's get back
to the phone calls. The topic on today's program is
I want to know if you received a holiday gift
card this season, where would you love to go to
a restaurant? What a restaurant would that be? The number

(54:30):
to call is eight eight eight four three four sixty
four sixty four. That's eight eight eight four three four
sixty four sixty four. What restaurant will make your dreams
come true this holiday season? Eight eight eight four three
four sixty four sixty four. And again, Carol will take
your name and address off air, because I've given away

(54:51):
a couple of winners per hour on the radio show.
This morning. I got one winner right now, I'll get
to give away another one. As I told you, Carol
was getting ready for the Kevin Cohen Show. So she's
kind of running back and forth. Philip a throwing. I'm
going to send you to Ryers Country Store. It's located
in North Reading. This is a specially market. I think

(55:13):
they've been around. They've been around since nineteen twelve. Yeah,
they've been around a long time. Jay Duffey as the
owner of Ryer's Country Store, now, good buddy of mine.
You may know him from Joe Fish in the Loft Restaurant.
He was their executive chef there. He runs this now

(55:34):
with the blessing of Jim Deats and everybody over there
at the Loft End Joe Fish Restaurant. And it's a
specialty market, but he also does his own meals there
as well as beer and wine there too. It's called
Ryer's Country Store. And because so, congratulations Phil and we'll
have another winner. I announce that in just a second.
But for the rest of you, where would you like

(55:55):
to go? Eight eight four three four sixty four sixty four?
All right, second winter, I just got it. Glen of Brighton.
We're going to send you to Cronin's Public House, which
is located in Quincy.

Speaker 23 (56:08):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (56:08):
That is a place to go in there and get
a pint of beer. Right that burgers are really good
there by the way, at Cronin's Public House. All I
know you'll love it. Back to the phone calls we
go this hour. Let's go to John and Lynn. John,
you're first on Wicked Bites this hour. Hey John, how
you doing excellent? John? Where would you like to receive

(56:29):
a holiday gift card to? What a restaurant?

Speaker 4 (56:32):
How about the Nordic Watch in Charlestown, Rhode Island.

Speaker 1 (56:38):
Okay, tell me, tell me about it. I know that
you could get a lot of food there.

Speaker 9 (56:42):
Yeah, basically like a buffet where you spend like I
think it's.

Speaker 2 (56:47):
A plate and you know, they have all.

Speaker 7 (56:49):
Sorts of really good desserts, you know, servan term prime
ris and you know, lobster, all that good stuff.

Speaker 1 (56:58):
Now it's the Nordic Lodge open year round.

Speaker 6 (57:02):
I don't believe so.

Speaker 24 (57:04):
Actually I think it's actually only a summer and spring thing.

Speaker 1 (57:09):
Yeah, that's that's what I'm saying. I could be wrong
on that, So I'm gonna see if I could. I'm
gonna see if I could figure that out for you
really quick. Here. Well, everything i'm seeing, of course is
not them, so uh yeah, I have to keep looking
at it. But they may or may not be open

(57:29):
a year round, but I'll find out. But again, they
have the lobsters and steaks and everything you could you
could get there.

Speaker 6 (57:35):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (57:37):
I don't know where I would go, right, what would
you go with? First, the lobster or a steak?

Speaker 24 (57:43):
I probably go I probably got with a steak.

Speaker 25 (57:46):
Yeah, yeah, me too, me too, all right, let me see,
I'm just checking up their website right now, so let
me tell folks the hours for the remainder of the
twenty twenty four season.

Speaker 1 (57:59):
And today is the eighth, so they're open. It says
reservations required today, and it appears that they're going to
be open next Friday and Saturday, and that looks like
that might be it. They might have a buffet going
on this afternoon. Here are the prices, and again you

(58:19):
have to find out a little bit more too. The
prices or one hundred and thirty five dollars for adults,
sixty dollars for kids eight through twelve, and thirty five
dollars for kids three through seven. But again, you could
have twenty lobsters if you would.

Speaker 14 (58:34):
Like, I know exactly, yeah.

Speaker 1 (58:37):
Yeah, but again it's expensive, but for what you get,
there's nothing like it too. And of course the grounds
are spectacular as well.

Speaker 2 (58:51):
Oh absolutely, yeah, yep.

Speaker 1 (58:54):
And again they're located right there in is what part
of Rhode Island? Is that in Charlestown, Charles Sumner Island? Okay, yeah,
I'm trying to trying to get their their exact address.
But yep, so you got a couple opportunities to see
it this year and then I don't have their their
their date that they open up for twenty twenty five.
But it's a it's a it is a great restaurant,

(59:15):
a great place to go. It's called the Nordic Lodge.
All right, John, thank you very much for your phone call.
Happy holidays. Let's jump over to Beverly. Next she's calling
our Barbara. Next she's calling us from Lowell, Barbara, Welcome
to the Wicked Bites.

Speaker 24 (59:31):
That would be China Blossom.

Speaker 1 (59:33):
Another China Blossom? Why why why was it? Why would
they be a restaurant you want to go to.

Speaker 24 (59:38):
I just love the place.

Speaker 26 (59:40):
The owner is the nicest person you ever wanted to meet,
never knew them before going there, and the buffet is unbelievable.
Everything from crab legs to prime rib, sushi, everything you
can think of. And during the week it's under thirty dollars.

Speaker 1 (59:54):
Yeah, it's it's really a for what you get, right,
prime rib. You can't even go a restaurant and get
a dish a prime rib for under thirty dollars.

Speaker 6 (01:00:05):
Oh yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:00:06):
Never mind having the ice cream and you know, the
crab legs and the peel an eat trip and everything
else that the China Blossom has on Route one twenty five.

Speaker 6 (01:00:14):
Yeah, you can't.

Speaker 24 (01:00:16):
You can't beat the price.

Speaker 1 (01:00:17):
No, And on Friday nights they have music in the
lounge area, so you could sit in the lounge enjoy
some music. Well you could sit on the other side
of the restaurant too, and you know, just you know,
just when you when you load up a plate, when
you're done, go back, grab another plate and start all
over again.

Speaker 24 (01:00:35):
They have the comedy show on the weekends. They have
trivia nights on Wednesdays they at Keno.

Speaker 1 (01:00:42):
Yeah, I've been there for several of the trivia nights. Yeah,
and don't forget about their my ties. But you got
to be careful, they're they're pretty strong, right.

Speaker 24 (01:00:51):
Oh yeah, I can't do them. I'm a little low
tolerance for that. Yeah, yeah, but their drinks are amazing, Yeah, yeah,
I get.

Speaker 1 (01:01:01):
I would say they're my ties. They're my ties. Can
can sneak up on you too, So one is my
limit and it takes me a while.

Speaker 24 (01:01:11):
And they have a great space for pieties. In fact,
I'm taking my go out of there for her fort
of birthday.

Speaker 6 (01:01:16):
Patty next month.

Speaker 2 (01:01:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 24 (01:01:17):
Well, so it's gonna be gonna be good.

Speaker 1 (01:01:20):
Yeah, you're gonna do it. But how many people are
gonna be going to the China Bostom.

Speaker 24 (01:01:24):
For a party, Probably between thirty and thirty.

Speaker 1 (01:01:28):
Five, so that's a good sized group that will be there. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 24 (01:01:32):
And for the comedy show in the buffet.

Speaker 1 (01:01:34):
Oh that's great. So Chris Flay hives the comedy show
that will be there on that night. I think they're
gonna you're gonna have a blast. And of course you
can't go wrong because you know, when you go to
a restaurant, somebody doesn't like seafood, nobody, somebody doesn't like this.
But at the China Bostom, in that buffet, you have
so many options. Everybody's happy, exactly.

Speaker 24 (01:01:55):
And if everybody doesn't show up at the same time.
It's all right, it's all right, yeah, you know you
they'll catch up. He's just coming back and ordering and ordering,
you know right.

Speaker 1 (01:02:03):
They'll they'll definitely catch up. And of course the comp
I love going to the comedy show there. The showroom
is just spectacular. Before that, that's what we do work.
Are Kevin Cohen shows there that we have coming up
this afternoon at one o'clock because we love that. The
stage and you're you're they have it all set up,
and of course the buffet is right next to the

(01:02:23):
stage area. Y so people keep going back and grab
more and more food. Oh yeah, yep, all right, great.

Speaker 24 (01:02:30):
The atmosphere, the people that wait is everybody just very nice.

Speaker 1 (01:02:34):
Yes, I agree with you, Barbara. Thank you very much
for your phone call. Happy holidays, Thank you very much,
you as well.

Speaker 2 (01:02:40):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (01:02:41):
All right. That's a China blossom on Route one twenty
five in North Andover and it really is one of
those special places. And I can't wait for the Kevin
Cohen show coming up at one o'clock today. Let me see. Yeah,
before we get back to the phone calls eight eight
eight four three four sixty four sixty four is our
number looking for places that you would love to receive

(01:03:03):
a holiday gift card to. What restaurant would that be
to make your season, your holiday season perfect? This year
Brady's and Bar thirty seven. And you know that was
my dad's request. This summer. He says, Hey, you got
to take me and your mom to Brady's in Lemonster
right there in the downtown Lemonster area, chef owner Bill Brady.

(01:03:26):
And you know what, it was so good, right, My
dad was right. I mean, I knew how great a
restaurant this is, and he knew it too, and he
just wanted to go back and see Bill Brady and
experience the restaurant for himself. Bill Brady is one of
the top restaurant tours in all of New England and
last year, maybe it was this year, at the beginning
of the year, he was named a top restaurant tour

(01:03:47):
of the Year by the Mass Restaurant Association. So that's
how good it is, you know, and how good he is.
It's a restaurant that's set in an old building, a
old post office that dates back to the early nineteen hundreds,
and he's just taking that brick atmosphere and just made
it something special. As a matter of fact, where the
vault was this like little seating area in the back

(01:04:10):
in one of the rooms. The vault for the post office. Yeah,
and people said why was there a vaults in the
post There was, and it's a huge one. It looks
like a bank vault. It's enormous. But Bill Brady just
does a fantastic job. He dry ages of steaks there,
perfect for the holiday season. A great, great gift card.
It's called Brady's in bar thirty seven thirty seven Mechanic

(01:04:30):
Street and downtown Leminster. Do not miss it. Let's go
to sail in New Hampshire next and talk with Roger Roger.

Speaker 6 (01:04:37):
Happy holidays, Happy holidays, Scott.

Speaker 1 (01:04:41):
Well, Roger, I have a feeling you probably got a
place that you would love to go this season.

Speaker 6 (01:04:48):
Yes, we are very very partial, my wife and I
and my whole family actually to Malfy's Tcher and Salem.

Speaker 1 (01:04:56):
Ah Yep, not too far from you then right.

Speaker 6 (01:05:00):
Yeah, yes down the road and over the years, never
had a bad meal there. Is it spectacular?

Speaker 5 (01:05:07):
No?

Speaker 6 (01:05:08):
Is it consistent? Absolutely, never had a bad meal there.
The wait staff is excellent and there's there's they treat
you well, let me put it that way.

Speaker 1 (01:05:22):
Yeah, no, it's a. It's it's a It's one of
my favorite places to go to because of the consistency
of the restaurant. They just do a really nice, nice
job there and and even there's they'll have special from
time to time. Uh, and I think they're even their

(01:05:43):
specials are fantastic. And they make their own sauce and
I believe they sell their sauce too, and a lot
of specialty markets as well.

Speaker 6 (01:05:52):
Yes, they do. The owner, chef Girado, your son kind
of is the main us.

Speaker 2 (01:06:00):
Now.

Speaker 6 (01:06:01):
It's like everybody else. You get old, you get tired,
you know.

Speaker 2 (01:06:04):
I get that.

Speaker 6 (01:06:06):
I'm recovering from a new replacement surgery. Shall I get that?
And yeah, it's my favorite. There is a fruity de
mai okay, And you can have it two ways. You
can have it in a tomato based sauce or my favorite,
the oil and garlic m and it's just fabulous. It's yeah. Yeah,

(01:06:32):
the eight plant palm is great, the view, the chicken
palm is great. You have all kinds of combinations. Yeah,
you can't go Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:06:42):
No, I I agree with you. And they're located in
that Nettles Plaza en Route twenty in Sale, New Hampshire,
and it is Uh, it's just it's plenty of parking there.
Sometimes you look in and you say, boy, where am
I going to park?

Speaker 4 (01:06:57):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:06:59):
Because the restaurants really really popular. But you'll easily get
into that parking spot even though it looks crowdy the times.

Speaker 6 (01:07:06):
Yeah, yep, you're just like, uh, and that's a good
thing because there's a FedEx place there that during the
day that gets kind of crowded, but yeah, at night
it clears out. And that's pretty much exclusively for a Malfee, right,
just a just a mixed place.

Speaker 1 (01:07:21):
Yeap, I I'll second that. And again we're twenty eight.
Try to read a Malfe in Sale, New Hampshire. Roger,
Happy holidays, Dacott. All right, thank you very much for
your phone call. Let's go to Barbara in Carlisle next.

Speaker 9 (01:07:36):
Hey, Barbara, welcome, Hie, thanks for taking my call.

Speaker 1 (01:07:40):
Well, thanks for calling in today. Now where would you
love to receive a holiday gift card too?

Speaker 9 (01:07:46):
Well, we hate to tell everybody about the place so
it doesn't get too crowded. But Rostina's in Chelms all right.

Speaker 1 (01:07:53):
You got to tell me about Rostina's and chelm Street
because I'm not familiar with it.

Speaker 9 (01:07:58):
Okay, it's on Concored Road in a little plaza and
been there for a long time. The owner Rafina, is
always there. The food is so so good. Everything is
made fresh, the egg plant, the what do you call
it rollatin lobster bisc you know, and the prices are
so good. And there's no parking because you're not in

(01:08:20):
the North End. Yeah, it's just so, I tell you,
because it's very small, and I would recommend anybody that
goes reservations just because we've gone there sometimes and you
can't get in.

Speaker 1 (01:08:33):
Yeah, you know that's important too. And I know our
last caller was talking about Trotchery and Moffi and they
recommend reservations or two or more. Uh, And it sounds
like a Rafina's in Chelmsford is another place that you
make sure you make sure you get in.

Speaker 9 (01:08:49):
Right, that's right, that's right. But I tell you it's
wonderful service. The people that have worked there have worked
there for years and we just can't say enough about it.
We go, I mean, that's our We were really thankful
that during COVID they were open for takeouts, so they
stayed in business. But it is just a wonderful small,
small restaurant, very very very good, all right.

Speaker 1 (01:09:11):
And where are they located in Chums For people want ahead,
head to.

Speaker 9 (01:09:15):
One seventy Conquered Road. It's right as you go into
Chumps from the Carlisle line and there's a small plaza there,
so there's no issue with parking. And it's the only
day is there closed Monday?

Speaker 1 (01:09:30):
Okay, got it all right, So they're closed on Mondays.
Other than that, go in there and grab some great,
great food and it can't go wrong.

Speaker 2 (01:09:38):
Right.

Speaker 9 (01:09:39):
We always go there for New Year's We've been going
there for years for New Year's even. It's just a
very you know, and the owner is always there and
just very just very concerned about the place running well.
And it does run well well.

Speaker 1 (01:09:53):
That's so important you see the owner there. It's one
of those things your restaurants. Yeah, you can have managers
that run the property for you, but with the owner there,
there's just that that that much more attention the detail,
you know. And I've always felt that to be the case. Uh,
And I think all the best restaurants, uh, you know

(01:10:14):
that the owner is somewhere in that building.

Speaker 9 (01:10:19):
Right, And I want to tell you from listening to
your program, we had heard about Mac and Choose, which
ended up going to We've gone. We've gone to places
because of your program, which we thank you. Which it
makes you kind of go outside of your little box.

Speaker 1 (01:10:33):
Yeah, that's that's the whole idea of it. Find some
some places, uh, you know, maybe even get you out
of your comfort zone. Right, because you say you always
want to tell your meal. Sometimes you want to you
want to Mac and Cheese and Mac and Choose. I
know that closed the Westford location, but they opened up
a Nashua location for Mac and Choes.

Speaker 9 (01:10:51):
Oh okay, and the other one. There's a barbecue place
in Hampton that you would recommended, I frighten downtown Hampton,
and we've gone there a couple of times in when
rest of we would have never gone there except we
heard it advertised on the appropriate I.

Speaker 1 (01:11:04):
Am glad to hear that. Hi, Barbara, thank you very
much for your phone call. Happy holidays, Hi, bye bye.
All right, Ded, We're going to take a break here
for the bottom of the hour news. We'll come back.
We've got some open lines and I want to know
where you would love to receive a holiday gift card
to eight eight four three four sixty four sixty four
is our number. Now maybe a great gift to yourself.

(01:11:26):
I would be taking a look at your insurance policy. Yeah,
it sound like a bummer when you say that, right,
Have you noticed how much the prices of insurance have
just gone crazy? Right, just absolutely crazy? And I think
now if you call Prime Insurance Services in North Endover,
whether it's for your home or your business, let them
take a look at your insurance and they'll tell you

(01:11:49):
whether they could save you money. And you got to
do it before your current policy lapses. What they do
is they're working for you and they will put all
those insurance companies out there and make them fight for
your business so they get your great rates. They'll find
your hopefully stuff that you're eligible for for discounts. They

(01:12:09):
could bundle your home, your your your auto together, and
they could even do commercial and business properties as well.
All throughout New England. They could handle it. And they
do workers comp in so much more, even the toys, yeah,
like jet skis and so much more. It's called Prime
Insurance Services. They're located in North Andover Again this holiday season.

(01:12:29):
Give them a call, you know, even if your policy
is gonna you know, expire in like two months from now,
don't don't let it just go up, you know, have
them take a look at it for you and see
if they could do better for you. Have a film
they can Primature and Services in North endover nine seven
eight six eight five ninety nine ninety nine. That's nine
seven eight six eight five ninety nine ninety nine. Let

(01:12:51):
me take quick break here, will come back with the
final half hour of the restaurant program. My name is
Scott Whitley and this is Wicked Fights Radio. Welcome back, everybody.

(01:13:20):
My name is Scott Whitley and this is Wicked Byes Radio.

Yeah?

Speaker 11 (01:13:47):
A rail trail in Hudson.

Speaker 1 (01:13:49):
You know, I have not, but I've heard a lot
of people talk about it. It sounds like a like
like a great place.

Speaker 11 (01:14:00):
Yeah, it's a really nice bar restaurant. The menu is
very big. The pizzas or flat bread they're very good,
crispy and a lot of a lot of different toppings and.

Speaker 4 (01:14:11):
Options you have on the flatbreads.

Speaker 6 (01:14:14):
So we have a big pizza that was like sweet
and salty.

Speaker 11 (01:14:18):
And it was very good.

Speaker 6 (01:14:19):
Ones.

Speaker 4 (01:14:19):
And then they have like.

Speaker 11 (01:14:21):
Mexican corn style pizza or flat bread.

Speaker 6 (01:14:24):
And it's very good.

Speaker 11 (01:14:26):
And then they have outdoors heating in summer and spring,
and a lot of beers, a lot of good staff, wine, kids, menus,
and it's crispy and thin, so you can eat like
a lot of different you know, you see.

Speaker 1 (01:14:45):
I like it that way. Well, yeah, that's the way
I like it. Crispy and thin.

Speaker 11 (01:14:50):
Yeah, and you can eat a lot of different, a
lot of different. They have a huge menus. So and
then they just opened one of them in Milford as well,
so they must you're doing something right.

Speaker 6 (01:15:02):
And the one in.

Speaker 11 (01:15:03):
Hudson has an ice cream store near their micro ice
cream place, and we go to get rail Trail and
then ice cream from like you just walk over at
the downtown Hudson is very good. They have a lot
of different downing options, so.

Speaker 1 (01:15:17):
Oh okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, that that whole area has
has really grown over the years and rails trail Flatbread
Company is it says they're celebrating twelve years in Hudson
and their first year in Milford, so they've been around
for a while now.

Speaker 4 (01:15:39):
Yeah, yep, very good location.

Speaker 11 (01:15:41):
Just parking is a little difficult, but I'm not it's worth.

Speaker 1 (01:15:46):
It though, right, Yeah, okay, all right, I'm gonna have
to check it out because that's the that's the style
I like my pizza.

Speaker 11 (01:15:54):
Yeah, definitely go ahead try it out.

Speaker 14 (01:15:56):
They're very good.

Speaker 7 (01:15:57):
I'd recommend it.

Speaker 1 (01:15:58):
All right, Pat, thank you very much for phone call.
Happy Holidays eight eight eight four three four sixty four
sixty four is our number, and we're looking for a
restaurant that you would love to receive a holiday gift
card too this season to make your holiday perfect. What
restaurant would that be? Eight eight eight four three four
sixty four sixty four. That's good. A Dina in Tewksbury.

(01:16:20):
A Dina, welcome the Wigabites.

Speaker 10 (01:16:22):
Hi, how are you excellent? Good? Good? I'm calling regarding
the Hardcover restaurant in Dnvers.

Speaker 1 (01:16:31):
Mess Okay, and I have not been to the Hardcover
in years, but always a great restaurant.

Speaker 10 (01:16:39):
My husband and I dated there when we first met.
We dated there and then we went one time a
few times after that. But it's just very good. Everything
is always cooked perfectly and it's a nice atmosphere. And
I just thought, I just thought of that restaurant. I

(01:16:59):
listened to you all the time, and but I thought
i'd call about this because we went there a while
back when my nephew came and it's just really nice.
We had a great time.

Speaker 1 (01:17:14):
Well, yeah, it's one of those restaurants. They're located on
Route one.

Speaker 15 (01:17:18):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:17:18):
The atmosphere is pretty special inside too, it is.

Speaker 2 (01:17:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:17:22):
Yeah, it's like an.

Speaker 10 (01:17:23):
Old it's like a library.

Speaker 1 (01:17:26):
Yeah, but sort of like bookcases and almost like like
a Hollywood library if you if you had to look
back at and like that, that's how they would stage
in in Hollywood.

Speaker 10 (01:17:36):
Yes, salad bar is always great.

Speaker 2 (01:17:40):
Oh that's right, salad bar.

Speaker 10 (01:17:42):
I have food, the meat to cook good and everything.

Speaker 1 (01:17:44):
It's been it's been a while since I've been there
to the hardcover, but I do remember that their salad bar.
They made their own dressing, a lot of their own dressings.
Mmmm yeah, all right, great, right.

Speaker 10 (01:17:57):
The meat is very I just thought i'd shout up
for the hardcover.

Speaker 1 (01:18:00):
It's excellent, good, great recommendations. All right, din, happy holidays, okay,
thank you? All right. That's the hardcover restaurant. They're located
on Root one. They at fifteen Newbury Street on Root
one North and Danvers. It really is a great, great restaurant.
I've been there in years, but the atmosphere everything is

(01:18:23):
really spectacular. Good night Johnny's American Music Bar in Burlington.
That is a great place to go and enjoy a
Sunday jazz brunch. That's going on, Yeah, it's going on
right now. This is the place. You go in there
and you get music, live music, and you could sit
there and enjoy the music, but you can have a

(01:18:43):
conversation and the atmosphere is gorgeous, and I mean, but
you could have a conversation. You know, when you go
out to a lot of places and they're playing music
and stuff and it just drowns out. You can't talk right,
And a lot of people like to go out enjoy music,
but they also want to catch up, especially in the
holiday season. Well good night, Johnny's thought about all that.
And they have put in their ceilings and in their
wall these acoustical panels that are gorgeous. I mean they're

(01:19:06):
like a word. You would never know their acoustical panels.
They're like six inches thick, right, so it absorbs a
lot of that sounds, so you can have that conversation
and enjoy the atmosphere of the food and the music.
They opened up probably less than a year ago, and
I still think this is Burlington's best kept secret when
the word gets out about this place, and it is

(01:19:29):
for the quality of the food, and not only they're
entres and most of their entres. I think the most
expressive thing on their menu is like thirty two dollars.
Everything else is really reasonable and that I think it
was like short ribs over mashed potatoes, and that was
the most expensive item. But boy, that melts in your mouth.

(01:19:49):
It is so so good. But you go in there
and get the cider glazed pork belly just a while.
That's all I got to say about. It's so so
good to the chicken parmesan and one of their favorites.
They have a cheeseburger in Paradise on a brioche bun. Yeah. Yeah,
so the prices are really great. It's a you can
bring the family there. Jazz trio going on right now

(01:20:12):
for their Sunday jazz Brunch. It's called good Night Johnny's
American Music Bar and there's tons of parking there. There's
sort of the anchor in this shopping plaza at one
fifty four Cambridge Street in Burlington, right off a Route
one twenty eight, maybe a mile or so down. For dessert, well,
they got their own pastry chef and she turns out

(01:20:33):
some of the best pastries you're gonna get around. Whether
you like their apple bloom tart that's sort of like
an apple crisp if you ask me. A chocolate lava cake. Oh,
that's another one of my favorites or her favorite. And
I love this one too, and I had this the
last time I was there. There they're key Lime Pie. Yeah,
good Night Johnny's American Music Bar in Burlington. You gotta

(01:20:57):
check it out. I know you're gonna love it, and
I I I just think that whole area, that Burlington
area is really taken off by storm. Another great restaurant
for you to try that's fairly new too, is in
Haveral right there on the Merrimack River. It's called Bosa
Coastal Italian. And yeah, they got a Sunday brunch that happens.
They got it on the weekends, their brunch and they
have chicken and waffles. Yeah, they got down. That's sensational.

(01:21:19):
But another item that they have on their brunch menu,
and I've only seen it here, they have their own
pizza oven and they turn out some great individual pizzas
if you ask me. But on their weekend brunch and
they do a pizza sandwich, so they make it in
the oven. The dough gets made in the oven, so

(01:21:40):
it takes a little while for it to be done,
and they'll put it with egg and ham and cheese
and stuff like that and it comes out and when
you see it, you're gonna just go, wow, does that
look good? And let me tell you I've had it.
It is excellent. The atmosphere is gorgeous. It's right there
in that brain new building owned by Salapol. Matter of fact,

(01:22:02):
Salapoli owns this restaurant, you know from Sal's Pizza. He
also and several other restaurants too in the area. Park
thirty four is one of his Salvator's restaurants, that's his.
This is his new one, and I think maybe he
his best restaurant. The atmosphere is fantastic, and their drinks
that that's that's that's another thing. I'm there in their

(01:22:25):
next level there as well, and then in the summer
it's closed for the season. He owns that whole building,
so Bosa Coastal Italians on the first floor right, and
they would have the patio seating that overlooks that boardwalk
over the river. But it took all to sit outside
right now. I know they're gonna have igloos there soon.
But upstairs they have this this lounge area on whatever

(01:22:48):
the fifteenth floor that overlooks all of Harol and the
river and boys, that spectacular. This will make great holiday
gift cards right to give the folks. Bosa Coastal Italian
in downtown Haveril. Make sure you check it out. You're
gonna love it. Back to the phone calls, we go
on this Sunday morning. We're gonna jump over to Medway

(01:23:09):
next and we're gonna talk with Katie. Hey, Katie, welcome
to wicked Bites.

Speaker 7 (01:23:14):
Hey, happy holidays.

Speaker 1 (01:23:15):
Thank you Katie, and to you and your dog as well.

Speaker 7 (01:23:19):
Oh Jeeves, I have to go and shut the door
behind me.

Speaker 1 (01:23:22):
That's all right.

Speaker 7 (01:23:25):
I would like to have tied from the Sunrise Shack.
It's in glen New Hampshire.

Speaker 1 (01:23:30):
Okay, I'm sorry the name of the restaurant.

Speaker 7 (01:23:31):
Again, Sunrise Shack.

Speaker 1 (01:23:35):
Sunrise Shack, tell me about it.

Speaker 2 (01:23:37):
Yep.

Speaker 7 (01:23:38):
It's in Glenning, Hampshire. They do breakfast and lunch and
they were just actually featured on Chronicle. They have the
best breakfast. I can't make it to lunch because I'm
so full. They have a liquor license if you want
to breakfast beer or Bluddy Mary, they have those. The

(01:23:59):
same people have been running up for years. They're very
creative meals and you just have to take everything home.
There's too much food.

Speaker 2 (01:24:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:24:08):
I love those I love those places. And I'm just
looking at their their website and this is a small
little shack. I mean, I guess that is a great
way to describe the Sunrise Shack.

Speaker 2 (01:24:23):
It's a shack, right right.

Speaker 7 (01:24:27):
There's there's just a way that it's well worth it.
And my favorite is called the Admits it's a ham
and egg and St. Saut sandwich. Oh, it's just great vegetarian.

Speaker 10 (01:24:45):
Dishes.

Speaker 7 (01:24:46):
They have breakfast bowls and like I said, I've never made.

Speaker 14 (01:24:49):
A to lunch.

Speaker 7 (01:24:50):
I'm sure the lunches are just as good.

Speaker 1 (01:24:53):
Yeah. And I have a feeling this is probably their
their slower season, right because they're right there on the
is the part of the White Mountains, right, and they
probably get really busy right after, right after the holiday
season or right right through the holidays. They pick up again.

Speaker 7 (01:25:11):
I was up there last weekend and this they're still
pretty busy. This popular that they're right in a story land,
so they're busney, Okay, they're busy all year really.

Speaker 1 (01:25:21):
Yeah, well, a lot of those restaurants. And remember in
Ski country, I guess when I was a kid, and
that would be it, right, they wouldn't be busy at all.
Maybe a little bit during the leaf peaking foliage period
of time. But now the White Mountains, there's golf courses,
tennis courts, there's trails, there's white water rafting. There's so

(01:25:43):
much to do year round that they're they're really there's
only like little tiny off I guess off peak seasons
now in the White Mountains.

Speaker 7 (01:25:55):
Yeah, maybe mud season the spring, but yeah about it, yep.

Speaker 1 (01:25:58):
And that is it really and even if that brings
its own crowd in for it. Yeah yeah, all right,
let's tell everybody it's called the Sunrise Shack. It's located
in Glen New Hampshire, and Chronicle just did a feature
on them, so I'll check it out. I'll check it
out because I love those places. Chronicle finds some really

(01:26:18):
unique places throughout New England too.

Speaker 6 (01:26:21):
Yeah, yeah right, got it?

Speaker 7 (01:26:23):
All right, well, happy, all right.

Speaker 1 (01:26:25):
You too, Okay, thank you very much for your phone call.
All right, eight eight eight four three four sixty four
sixty four is our number. We're gonna have our winners
coming up in just a second. Then we're gonna head
over my wife and I to the Kevin Cohen show
at the China Blossom in North Andover. He's our psychic
medium that we'll be doing a show today. And I

(01:26:45):
never really talk about it on show days because the
shows are always sold out. However, this time it's not.
We got some seats over, probably because we did a
show like three weeks ago and I was completely sold out.
Tickets are sixty dollars per person. But it does include
all you can eat Chinese buffet prior to the show,
and it includes the tax tip and the show. And

(01:27:06):
what you do is you bring a photograph of somebody
who passed away, and I know you're gonna love the show.
I mean, the guy is truly amazing. And they just
came out with a book on his life and he
brought it to the last show, and the author came
to the show as well, and I think she's going
to be here today. I'm not one hundred percent sure,
but Kevin says, is it likely she was going to

(01:27:27):
come with the book and I'll talk to her a
little bit about it and you'll find out how he
developed his gift of reading, folks, because it's truly amazing
when you see it. And this isn't edited. You know,
on television you see all these medium shows, right, but
you're seeing things that are edited, and here Kevin's doing
it in front of a crowd and it's just spot

(01:27:52):
on detailed information, startling information at times. And again, if
you would like to come today, doors open at twelve,
but we do lunch for so you don't have to
get there till like I'm sorry. Doors open at one pm,
so doors open at one pm. But you know, if
you show up between the one and two o'clock hour,
you could easily get in there and enjoy lunch and
then the show, and you could sit together with your friends.

(01:28:13):
So you could grab some friends too. Just bring a
photograph of somebody who passed away if you would like
to be read. He does about fifteen readings during the show,
and he'll do it right after the lunch, so he'll
do about forty five minutes. We take a ten minute
break and then he does it again. And I just
have a great time with it, and it's something you'll remember,
you really will. And I've never personally been read. I

(01:28:35):
just just love hearing the stories because every story is
a new chapter in a book, all right. So that's
a China blossom today at one pm. Also, we just
got a phone call a few minutes ago. They were asking,
what was that restaurant I was talking about that new restaurant.
There was two new restaurants I was talking about. One
was in Burlington called good Night Johnny's. That's where they
do the music and the jazz trio and Bosa Coastal Italian,

(01:28:59):
and hey, those are two fairly new restaurants, both places
I would say would make great holiday gift cards. By
the way, those two restaurants. All right, let me take
a quick break here. We're going to come back wrap
things up. I'll have our winners on today's program and
we'll update you on you on tonight's television show ten
pm on NASSA New England sports network, Wicked Bytes TV.

Hey, this is Scott Whitley from Wicked he bites radio
and wicked bites TV. And you know me and you
know I love a great deal. But when it comes
to something as valuable as rare coins, trust is everything.
That's why I personally do business with Warren Mills of
Rare Coins of New Hampshire. Warren is a leading expert
in the nation and he travels the country looking for

(01:30:20):
rare coins, and I happen to know he pays some
of the highest prices as well. So if you're sitting
on an old coin collection, now may be a great
time to turn it into cash. And with inflation on
the rise, it's a perfect time to invest in gold
and silver. I personally started investing in silver with Warn
five years ago and I've almost doubled my money since
that time. So whether you're looking to invest in gold,

(01:30:42):
silver or rare coins, Warn Mills of Rare Coins of
New Hampshire is the person you need to call. Eight
hundred two two five seven two sixty four Warn Mills
Rare Coins of New Hampshire eight hundred two two five
seven to two six ' four. The Peddler's Daughter.

Speaker 27 (01:31:01):
Restaurant offers a tentic Irish dining without the troubles. They
have the beverages you love, with all the food that's
famous in the land of the Leprechauns at friendly service.

Speaker 1 (01:31:12):
And you don't need the look at the Irish. You
just need to know.

Speaker 27 (01:31:15):
There's a peddler's daughter restaurant in Harold and.

Speaker 28 (01:31:18):
Nashua Coliseum Restaurant. You guys heard of it, right, You've
heard of my friend enable A Tedesca. You know, I
was just noticing here. The Colisseum Restaurant is, in fact,
the only restaurant in the United States to have received
an award called the best Italian chef and Restaurant in
the World. And it is located not Nittley, but in Salem,

(01:31:40):
New Hampshire. It's called the Colisseum Restaurant Route twenty eight.
That's in the Breckinridge Shopping Plaza in Salem, New Hampshire.
The chef anebel A Tedsca. So if you are looking
for a great Italian food Neapolitan food, go and visit
the Coliseum Restaurant, Route twenty eight, Breckenridge Shopping Center in
Save Them, New Hampshire.

Speaker 1 (01:32:01):
Nable a to desk his place.

Speaker 16 (01:32:04):
Hold on to your forks, folks, it's Wicked Bites with
Scott Whitley broadcasting from the Northeastern fence at Supply Company Studios.
We are building up an appetite for the best food
talk around.

Speaker 1 (01:32:21):
Well, big holiday cheers and shout out from the folks
over at restaurant A Lucia in Winchester. They got a
great recommendation in the first hour of the program. If
you didn't hear it, they talked about the atmosphere and
how great this restaurant is and their food being outstanding.
They're located five Dash thirteen out Vernon Street in Winchester.
It's own operated by Filipo and and a Fratiroley and

(01:32:43):
the entire family, the Frido family. How you probably see
them there right there in Winchester. It's North End atmosphere
and without the parking issue right because you'll be able
to find parking there. They have that restaurant, Restaurant A
Lucia in the North End. It's their restaurant too. But
they in eight they opened up this restaurant. They took
it out to Winchester and it is going strong even

(01:33:05):
to this day. It has not lost any of its luster.
It's just a fantastic restaurant, Restaurant de Lucia, five dash
thirteen Mount Vernon Street in Winchester. Also, if you're looking
for great cakes, cupcakes, and cookies and pies and stuff
along that line, I want you to think about Josie's Bakery.

(01:33:25):
They are located in Wilmington and the cross Road shopping plaza,
and this is an old school bakery with a modern twist.
But they specialize in homemade desserts and I'm going to try.
I just saw up on their Facebook page some stuff
that they have for the holiday season that you could
pre order, and I would recommend you pre order stuff

(01:33:48):
because it's hard in these bakeries to get everything that
you want come, you know, when you're right in the
middle of the season. But Josie's Bakery, they're located in Wilmington,
that shopping plazas not to be missed. It really isn't.
And let me see if I could find it. All right,
they have pre orders must be placed by the sixteenth,

(01:34:09):
so you got eight more days and you can pick
up your orders on the twenty second, twenty third, and
twenty fourth of Josie's Bakery. And they have like ten
inch chocolate cream pie for twenty six dollars, a custard
pie for twenty six dollars, egg knob cheesecake for forty
two dollars, peppermint chip cheesecake forty five dollars, and then

(01:34:29):
they have halftrays of terramassoux. They have a sort of
cookie platters and canoli platters and holiday cookie decoration kits
for just twenty dollars. Yeah, they include three gingerbreads, three
sugar cookies, icing, and the sprinkles. That'd be great for
the kids to do, right Josie's Bakery. So get those

(01:34:51):
pre orders in that way you're not shut out for
the Christmas season if you get it in by the
sixteenth and you can pick it up by the twenty
second through the twenty fourth at Josie's Bakery in Wilmington.
I know you're gonna love it. They are really a
fantastic place. They really are. All right, let me give
our winners this hour of the program. Roger, Salem, New Hampshire. Oh,

(01:35:13):
I'm gonna send you to the call Aseum restaurant in
the Breckenridge Shopping Center in Salem, New Hampshire. I know
you're gonna enjoy the food there. Get the Veal Coliseum. Yeah,
that's that's what I would recommend that you get. So
that's Roger Sale, New Hampshire. And then I have a
gift card to the Kitchen Table in Beverly. Really a

(01:35:37):
unique place. Everything is really made to order, farm fresh,
that type of stuff. That's what they do there. And
in the season when the farms have specialty items going on,
they will really take the time and make sure they
go to this farm and that farm and whatever is

(01:35:58):
like fresh that they they do. It's called the Kitchen Table.
It's located in Beverly, and they'll even have like edible
flowers that they get from another farm and that decorates
their desserts and their drinks and stuff like that. The
Kitchen Table in Beverly is going to Dina of Tewksbury.
So congratulations. I know you're gonna love those places because

(01:36:19):
they are truly truly special. Well, that's gonna wrap things
up tonight, and this afternoon, I should say, on Wicked
Bites here on the tox station WRKL back Saturday night
from five to six Wicked Bites at night, we're gonna
be looking and talking with restaurants and their holiday gift
card promotions. So they got a whole bunch of restaurants
lined up for that. So make sure you're join me

(01:36:40):
Saturday nights here on WRKL from five to six for
Wicked Bytes to Night back next Sunday, of course for
the restaurant program, and tonight on the television show wickabytes
TV on Nessen, We're gonna take you to a fairly
new restaurant in an old post office in Reading called
Post nineteen seventeen. Yeah, they got great steaks there, but
they also have a great history chef and you know

(01:37:01):
me with that sweet tooth. They have this chocolate that
was like a seven layer of chocolate cake. It was
just outstanding. And we'll also take it to a place
and that does pizza cupcakes. Yeah, you heard me right,
pizza cupcakes and that's in legacy place. So that's tonight
ten pm on ness in the New England Sports Network.
All right, that's gonna do it for me. I'm heading
over to see Kevin Cohen at the China Blossom in

(01:37:23):
North Endover. We got some seats open. The show starts
at one pm today. Hope to see you there, all right,
have a great Sunday afternoon. Everybody keeps smiling. See you
