Speaker 1 (00:11):
Well, welcome in everybody. This is Gone Whitley and this
is Wicked Bites Radio on this Sunday morning here till
twelve noon. Today, We're gonna open up the phone lines
at just a few moments on the show today because
it's all about well, you know, there's a big football
game happening a little bit later on right and I'm
sure you've been running around. You weathered the snowstorm from
last night. You're probably outside shoveling, you're just finishing off
(00:33):
cleaning off your area. And now it's time to talk food.
And I want to talk food for tonight's game as well,
because this, as you know, is one of the biggest
and I do mean that one of the biggest days
for pizza in the restaurant industry. I believe it's like
a thirty percent increase today in just the amount of
(00:58):
pizza that they're going to be, you know, offering at
these places. So it's really amazing when we think about
how much they're going to be producing in a short
period of time. So I want to open up the
phone lines today and not only talk about that because
that is a big topic of today's program, of course,
but I also want to talk a lot about other
(01:18):
types of foods for the football game today, which would
be wings or things that you may be making at
home to watch the game tonight. So I'm going to
be running out a little bit later on. I got
a pull pork. I got going out on the smoker,
so when people come over, we got pulled pork and
a whole bunch of other food as well. So I
want to find out you know what you're doing there too.
(01:39):
So that's all today on Wicked Bites Radio right here
on WRKO Sundays ten to twelve noon on WRKO. My
name is Scott Whitley, and again this is Wicked Bytes Radio.
Our number few to call is eight eight eight four
three four sixty four sixty four. That's eight eight eight
four three four sixty four sixty four. Again, Carol will
(02:03):
take your name and address off air, because every hour
we do award some dinner gifts to bigots that it
could be you could be, you know, a winner on
the program today, so I would love to know where
you're going out, all right. Again, this is Scott Whitley. Again,
this is Wicked Bites Radio on this Sunday morning, and
again we want to talk about food, food, more food,
(02:24):
and again the best pizza in the land. I want
to know what your favorite places are. Here is the
number to call. And again, as we get going the
lines and probably you know, it's a little bit easier
to get in as we get really moving, they start
to really really tie up. So the best thing to
do is call in. And if you hear one of
your favorite pizza places mentioned, that's all right, you could
(02:46):
always call in and second them, you know, and I know,
doing the show for so many years now, people the
individual people at their households all have different places that
they enjoy to go. And there's so many types of
pizzas out there. You got Greek, you got Italian, you
got Deep Dish, you got thin Crust, you got sal
(03:09):
Shore bar pizza, you got Detroit style, you got beach pizza,
and I'm sure Cecilia pizza. I don't know, there's there's
there's just tons and tons of different styles of pizzas
out there. So I'd love to know what your favorite
place is. Eight eight eight four three four sixty four
sixty four is our number. That's eight eight eight four
three four sixty four sixty four. And as I mentioned,
(03:31):
Karrol will take your name and address off air, because
I want to award some dinner gifts till he gets
to us. Some callers that call in today to tell
me about their favorite place, so I don't want to
limit it to just pizza. I do think wings is
a great topic as well, So if you've got a
great place for wings, because I know they'll be busy
two and I don't know ivan the people the Chinese
(03:51):
food probably on this day as well. I know they
do it on New Year's Eve, and I have a
feeling that's probably one of the easier items for folks
to get because it's just easy. You know, you got
a whole bunch of people over the house, you can
all just dip in and grab some. So what's your
favorite place is? That is our topic? Eight eight eight
four three four sixty four sixty four To get jump
(04:14):
in right now on the program and get this program
started all right. Today's show is brought to you by Northeastern Fence.
It's supply company my good buddy Mike Payne. They make
fencing for your kids, dogs and ugly and neighbors. They're
located Root one southbound in Saugust. They also have a
showroom outside. I don't know if today's day you want
(04:34):
to go see their specially fences that they have, but
they got six acres of inventory in stock at all times.
Really amazing. That's why homeowners and fence contractors they all
trust to rely on Mic Pain at Northeastern Fence at
Supply Company. And we're also brought to you by Boston
Salad and Prepared Foods to make those great side dishes,
and I have a feeling they're going to be in
heavy use today. Boston Salad and Prepared Foods. You can
(04:57):
find them at Market Basket, Privities, Market, a whole bunch
of butcher specialty markets as well. The best thing they
do to find that side dist that will make your
evening perfect or even afternoon lunch perfect, whether it's macaroni
or their tricolored tortolini, or their German potatoes or their
potato salad that they have and it is just I
(05:17):
would say the best way to do is just go
over to their website Boston Salads dot com that's Boston
Salads with an S and to just find a location
near you and they'll also list what they have because
they make probably one hundred different products right here in Boston,
and they're just made in small batches, nice and fresh,
really really great products out there that they have Boston
(05:37):
salad and prepared foods. All right, So come on, folks,
got lines open right now. Eight eight eight four three
four sixty four sixty four. He's gonna step up and
be first on today's program, what's your favorite place for pizza?
Eight eight eight four three four sixty four sixty four. Now,
(05:58):
I had an opportunity because we're working on the whole
episode of pizza for the television show. I like to
do that every couple of years to keep up on
the pizza scene. I went back and I started off
at a at an original Regina pizzeria in the North
end of Boston on Thatcher Street eleven Thatcher Street, and boy,
you get in there. We were there on was it
(06:19):
Thursday when we had the last though, which is great
because we got right into the city and right early
in the morning with really no traffic at all, and
we filmed there and I just love their pizza. To me,
Regina pizza that sets the bar, that's the mark that
everybody wants to live up to. And they've been doing
it for over one hundred years. I think they're coming
(06:41):
up on their one hundredth anniversary actually, I think later
this year. And their oven in the Thatcher Street location
is the original and way back when it was a
bakery at that location and they baked breads there and
they only later turned it into a pizza oven, you know,
which really is hid to unique a kind of different, right,
(07:01):
So I wouldn't say there. Their dough is like a
bread dough. Maybe it's a little area than some of
the other pizza places out there, but they do age
their dough and they find that to be very important
for seven days. And then the consistency of the cheese
and the sauce. They have these tomatoes that grow out
in California, and I think they only and I could
(07:25):
be wrong. I think they're only like mature like once
a season, that's it. And Regina just has them all
canned for them so they're fresh and ready to use
when they're ready to go. That's why they're so so consistent.
And I always say, if you're a newbie, you gotta
try the cheese pizza first, right, because you go to
any pizza place and you throw a whole bunch of
(07:45):
topics on it. You're not going to really taste everything
right because you want to taste that sauce, you want
to taste the dough, the cheese, So start off that
way and then you can move on from there. They
got to Saint Anthony's with pepper and onions. That's great,
that's one of my favorites there. But Regina Pizza, as
far as I'm concerned, that is my favorite place, all right,
(08:08):
And we'll find out from you if that's yours. I
know there's always been that big debate Reginas have said papios,
and while I like Santapio's, I got to give the
nod to Regina's. I like Santapio's the original location in
East Boston over by the airport, and it's one of
those places that we go in. They have a limited menu,
(08:30):
probably a handful of items on their venue, but they
pretty much do pizza. And if you ever stop in
to pick up a pizza to bring home, you walk
right into the kitchen to get it. It kind of
like like WHOA, I just walk in the wrong door.
But it is really something. Again, the history I've said Tapio's,
the histories of Regina pizza together and the amount of people,
(08:54):
generations of folks that have gone there throughout the years.
I think those are some of the some of the
top places you'll find out there. But I want to
know from you, folks. Come on, I still got open lines.
I can't believe it. I know people are out, you know,
the sun's just starting to pop out here, probably cleaning
off the walkways. But right now is a great time
to get in on the program. All right, best place
(09:15):
for pizza eight eight eight four three four sixty four
sixty four. That's eight eight eight four three four sixty
four sixty four.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
Now.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
Bedrooms. They are located at Route one southbound in Saugus,
and they really specialize it all or anything I should say,
you need for the bedroom, whether it's bunk beds, you need,
a nursery, cribs, they got that, loft beds, trundle beds,
they have that. And they also have Sealy and I
(09:46):
comfort mattresses along with adjustable bases they have set up
at delivery. It is available and zero percent financing and
they also offer that as well. So we could go
onto their website which is bedrooms number one dot com.
That's Bedrooms one dot com. Well, stop in and say
hi to Gary and the good folks over at bedrooms
are Root one Southbound and Pevity. You will be amazed.
(10:09):
This is not like shopping online. Right. You get to
touch it and see it. You see that they use hardwood,
solid hardwood furniture for all of your bedroom needs. There
bedrooms again, say hi to Gary root one in PbD.
All right. Josie's Bakery if you're looking for great place
for cupcakes, cookies, those decorative cakes. Those are wonderful too.
(10:31):
I mean absolutely wonderful. They do these beautiful cakes and
I follow them up on their Facebook page and they're
always posting cakes and they've done one for a couple
for me actually now where they designed a cake. I
had a surprise birthday party about a year ago for
my wife and they did an incredible cake, just just
gorgeous and it matched like the place settings and everything
(10:54):
that I had set up for the time for that event. Right.
But they can do the same for you. Whether it's
a wet or a retirement party, your birthday party, Josie's
Bakery could create an incredible masterpiece for you and you
won't believe the pricing The pricing is actually really good,
shockingly good over there, and I recommend it for the taste,
(11:15):
the quality. The only problem is, yeah, you got to
cut into it. Who's gonna be the first person to
cut into the cake? Because it's so beautiful? Right? You
know what I mean? Right? But it is well worth it.
Josie's Bakery that crossroad shopping plaza in Wilmington to Lowell
Street in Wilmington. All right, let's kick today's program off again.
Best pizza I like places for wing suggestions or just
(11:38):
any type of food for the game tonight. Eight eight
eight four three four sixty four sixty four is thatever?
That's eight eight eight four three four sixty four sixty four.
Let's kick things off this morning. We'll go to Scott
and Scott's calling us from Sagas. Hey, Scott, welcome to the wikibites.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
Hey, ill are you doing great?
Speaker 1 (12:00):
Scott?
Speaker 4 (12:02):
So?
Speaker 3 (12:03):
My pick is Prince Pizza.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
Prince Pizza Root one.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
That's the best pizza, the most amazing pizza there, the
greatest staff employees, and their secret is they have some
wings there that to die for.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
You know, I don't think I've ever tried their wings there.
I've tried. Of course, everybody has tried their pizza.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
Their wings are unbelievable, they're gluten free. There's buffalo sauce,
an Asian sauce.
Speaker 5 (12:36):
And they are just.
Speaker 3 (12:39):
Wonderful there.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
Yeah, and he can't miss it either because of the
the leaning tower on root one that that is one
of those landmarks. It's it's just as much of a
landmark as I guess it's like the uh the Hilltop
Steakhouse was or Kowloons. They're they're just as much of
a landmark there in Saugust.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
Yeah, I mean, everybody talks about Regina and Santapio's is
the best, but all the families I know and all
the customers, we all talk about how Prince is the best.
Pantapio's and Regina it is great, but we think Prince
is number one for pizza.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
For folks that have not tried their pizza or haven't
been there in a long time, describe their pizza because
it it's a little bit different. It's a little thinner
to describe it for folks.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
It's a very nice light airy crust. It has a
nice buttery light airy crust, just just an amazing sauce.
And cheese, and it's very crisp. There's no bend to it,
no folding. It's kind of like a kind of sort
of like a bar pizza kind of where it's a
(13:54):
there's no no flop to it, but just the light
airy crust.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
Crist you know. I almost consider it like like like
maybe like an Unos has that light, airy crisp cross
as well. You know. That's that's sort of what I
think about it. And of course Prince has a whole
bunch of comedy, uh there that they do on the weekends,
so I know Lenny Clark is there quite a bit
entertaining the crowds here, so it's always a great stop. Yeah,
(14:22):
all right, Scott, thank you very much for your phone call.
And that is a I would say a full edged
endorsement for Prince Route one, uh southbound in Saugus. Let's
go to Midway next and we're gona talk to Katie. Hey, Katie,
welcome to Wicked Bites.
Speaker 6 (14:38):
Hey, good morning, happy super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
Thank you very much. Eagles, me too. I'm going with
the Eagles. I just think they're a better football team
if you ask me. But we'll see Patrick Mahomes very
much like Tom Brady. They you gotta beat them and
that's not easy. Sometimes that's true.
Speaker 6 (15:00):
So my favorite pizza is the Pleasant Cafe.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
Okay, that's a bar pizza.
Speaker 5 (15:07):
Yeah, is that what you call it?
Speaker 1 (15:09):
Yep, sal Shore bar pizza.
Speaker 6 (15:12):
It's great, it's foldable, it's greasy. It just you can't
get any better pizza than that. And it's and it's
the kind of nostalgic in there the setting itself.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
Yes, yep. Yeah, it's not like like I wouldn't call
it by any means fancy. They've been around, I don't
know for eighty to one hundred years, and they have
that that bean pizza that's very good too. That's one
of their signature pizzas.
Speaker 6 (15:37):
Yeah, it's just they used to serve it on tape
a place they've stepped up now.
Speaker 7 (15:43):
But I've gone there for years.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (15:44):
I got to going there with my dad.
Speaker 8 (15:46):
You know, right.
Speaker 6 (15:47):
So it's the best pizza.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
Around, yep. And they're they're sort of individual size, so
everybody could get one. It's basically how they do it.
I've had their bean pizza, but it was many many
years ago, and I know that that's what they used,
the Boston baked beans up on top of it. But
I really just like their pepperoni. I think that's my
favorite there.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's great.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
And of course the atmosphere and they get people that
come from miles and miles and miles on a regular basis,
they come down check it out. Yeah, all right, let's
root on the Eagles tonight. All right, my wife's start
rooting for Kansas City, so I'm not there's gonna be
an argument in the household tonight. Yeah, all right, thanks
(16:33):
for your phone call again. That's the Linwood Cafe that
located three twenty Central Street or Center Street, i should say,
in Randolph. Let's jump over to Jamaica plane next day,
we're going to talk with Mark k. Mark. Welcome to
the Wicked Bites.
Speaker 9 (16:47):
Thanks, it's good to be here. I want to recommend Keller,
Hers and Rossendale.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
Okay, tell me about Keller.
Speaker 9 (16:54):
It's kind of a personal pizza twelve inch diameter and
they have a ton of topics and a ton of
specialty pizzas. But the big news is that they're closing
at the end of the month, So if you want
to check it out, definitely get there before the end
of February.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
So they'll be done gone, so you got to get
there quick.
Speaker 9 (17:08):
Yeah, there's a yeah, there's going to be another restaurant
coming in pretty quickly though, so yeah, I'm just going
to be all different, different ownership.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
It really is a surprise how fast these restaurants just
turn around, right Like what closes and somebody else opens
up in that same spot and Callahers if I recall
it's been there for many years?
Speaker 9 (17:30):
Oh yeah, yeah, I think it changed chands twenty years ago,
but it's been around for I think since the sixties.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
Yeah. I hate to see when you know, the regular
standby restaurants disappear, and this is Callahers is one of those.
Uh when you're in there, I know you're talking about
recommending pizza. Have what about some of their other food
items that you like?
Speaker 9 (17:50):
There, real real standard American menu, but they do everything
well like State Tips, swings burgers, salad, sandwiches. They are
a good showder, they got good chili. It's very very
American and uh, just standard stuff, but it's it's done
well and the prices are very reasonable.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
Right again another place. Don't expect anything fancy when you
when do you see kel Hers, it's it's a bar.
It's a grill. I mean, that's that's what it is,
with a whole bunch of television sets. Yeah, but again,
they're closing at the end of February, so you got
to get in there quick.
Speaker 5 (18:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (18:26):
Yeah, that's why I want to give him a shout
out on this episode. Says Yeah, there's not much time left.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
Mark. I'm glad you called it about him. I appreciate
that and updating the folks, so people go out and
try it. Mark, who do you like in the game tonight?
Speaker 9 (18:39):
I think Eagles should win.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
Yeah, that's me too, So I forgot to ask the
first caller so so far to tow and oh for
the Eagles. All right, thank you very much, Mark. Enjoy
the game tonight, you too.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
You know, I always love the football games, you know,
not only for the game itself because I love football,
but I also love love the commercials that are in it,
and I alway entertained. And the problem is when you're entertaining,
people want to talk to the commercial.
Speaker 2 (19:04):
So I.
Speaker 1 (19:07):
Try to turn the TV up a little bit and
just kind of zone in for a little while. Callahurs
Barring Grill is located at fourteen ten Center Street, and
that's in Rogindale, all right. Eight eight eight four three
four sixty four sixty four is our number. I'm looking
for the best pizza in the land wherever that might
be a plus, best place for wings, if you got
(19:27):
a place like that, or any type of food that'll
be great for tonight's game. Eight eight eight four three
four sixty four sixty four is our number. And again,
Carol will take your name and address off air, and
I want to find out who you think is gonna
win tonight too, so we'll do an informal poll here,
you know, on the program today. All right, my name
(19:49):
is Scott Wiley. This is Wicked by ITES Radio on
this Sunday morning, snowy Sunday morning, snowshit pretty much if
it hasn't stopped in your area, have stopped by now
here in the Merrimack Valley, I would say we got
about eight nine inches, maybe a fluffy, fluffy snow, but
it just just adding on. It seems like we're now
we're just getting nickeled and dimed with the snow. There's
(20:10):
another snow storm coming in I think on Thursday they said,
so you know, let's get all the snow done like
we normally do, like a three week period and get in,
get onto the spring. That's what I'm waiting for. In
the North End of Boston, there is this wonderful restaurant
right there in the gateway to Boston's historic North End.
They're open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.
It's called Felipo Restaurante. They're located right at two Ay
(20:35):
through Cosway Street at the North End of Boston, and
it's not far from the TV Garden. Matter of fact,
when people go to an event at the Garden, they
stop there before or after for some great food. But
they're open for lunch there as well. I always go,
and I always bring my staff there. I find when
there's nothing going on in the Garden and that today
(20:56):
I woant to go there because it's easier to there's
less crowds, and the food is just as just as great.
And upstairs they got a huge function room that could
accommodate groups from twenty two hundred and thirty five people.
My favorite to the name of the dish, all of
a sudden it's the oh the Boston Garden. There it is.
It took me a second to figure out, remember the name.
(21:18):
It's eggplant on top of vio parmesan. It is so
good and he got to save room for dessert because
they make their own term asu. It's just excellent. Felipo
Restaurant Ay two to eighty three Causeway Street in Boston,
and make sure you go in and say hi to Phillip.
Felipo will probably agreet to you there as well. Maybe
Anna might be there as well as family owner operated.
(21:40):
I love the restaurant. Felipo's restaurant Day in the North
end of Boston, the China Blossom, by the way, we
got our Kevin Cohen show popping up there. I just
announced it up online the other day, March ninth, Sunday,
March ninth, So if you'd like to see Kevin Cohen,
our psychic medium, the way to get tickets is to
go to events Bright and just type in Cohen c
(22:03):
An Kevin Cohen and order tickets. I will be there.
I know I announced it or I released it like
on Wednesday of this past week, and it's already about
oh ten to fifteen percent sold out, so I have
a feeling it's going to sell out rather quickly. At
the China Blossom. Of course, it has that great all
you can eat Chinese buffet. We're going to have that
(22:24):
along with the show, so you'll it's always a great time.
Of course, China Blossom is just a great place where
you go in there for lunch or dinner, you order
off their venue to do takeout, or you do their buffet.
It's just a great spot in North Andover Roup one
twenty five. All right, let me take a quick break here,
Robert and Newburyport.
Speaker 5 (22:41):
I see you.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
We're gonna get to you right after the break here
on the other side of the break, I should say.
On the news break here, my name is Scott Whitley.
You're listening to Wicket Bytes Radio here Sunday mornings ten
to twelve noon on WRKO. And of course the television
show is Wicked Bytes TV Saturday mornings at eight thirty
on Core Presentation tonight at ten. I don't miss it
because we take it to this miniature golf course in
(23:04):
the Seaport district of Boston that is so unique and
so different and so much fun for folks of all ages.
And of course the restaurant, the barther Seeing there is excellent.
All right, that's all tonight a Wickibites TV ten pm
on nests in the New England Sports Network. All right,
quick break here, we'll come back with Robert of Newbury
reporting your phone calls looking for the best pizza on
(23:27):
today's program. Yeah, my name is Skuy Whitley and this
is Wickedbites Radio on the talk station AM six a
WRKO here till twelve noon today. I taking your phone
(23:48):
calls looking for the world best pizza and if you
can help me out for wings as well, or anything
that you could do for tonight's game as you're watching
the game tonight. So that's our topic. Eight eight eight
four three four sixty four sixty four. Is that over?
That's eight eight eight four three four sixty four sixty four.
Back to the phone calls as promised, Let's go to Robert,
(24:09):
who's calling us from the report. Hey Robert, welcome the
Wicked Bites.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
Good morning, Scott. How are you.
Speaker 1 (24:15):
I'm doing excellent, A little bit cold. I was out
shoveling earlier this morning. I don't know about you.
Speaker 10 (24:21):
I haven't done mine and I'm waiting for my guy
to come and snowball with my snowball.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
That makes it a lot easier, doesn't it.
Speaker 10 (24:28):
Yeah, sure it does.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
Yeah, but it's muffy. That's the only good thing I
can tell you about it.
Speaker 10 (24:33):
Well, it's really the best kind of snow to have.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
Really, you're going to have.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
It, yep, yep, right exactly exactly. I'm just tired of
the snow already. I think last week at this time
I was in Florida golfing.
Speaker 5 (24:46):
Another one Thursday, right.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
Yeah, yeah, another one coming in on Thursday.
Speaker 2 (24:51):
Just what we need.
Speaker 10 (24:52):
Well, anyway, my thought on the best pizza is Riverview
Pizza twenty f eat and I swich okay, pizza always
there there is pizza.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
Well, well that's probably all you need to do, if
you do it right.
Speaker 10 (25:12):
Yeah, well I think they do it right. If you're
like thin crust you're in you don't, well, you don't
go I guess.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
To me, I kind of like the thing crush because
you don't fill up on it as as fast. Sometimes
you can have like one or two slices the heavier
dose stuff.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (25:29):
The place you talked about was near the airport in Boston.
We went there once and uh like too much.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
Too much?
Speaker 5 (25:36):
Yeah, enterpia.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
It was good.
Speaker 10 (25:38):
Too much crust, that's not my I like crust and
it's if it's thin, you can eat it.
Speaker 8 (25:45):
If it's it was like there was just too much
of it.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
That's me.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
Yeah, with that. Robert at the Riverview Pizza in Ipswich,
do you stay with one type of pizza? What do
you you very your your your types of pizza you
get there? Like, do you get like pepperoni or extra cheese?
What's your favorite pizza there?
Speaker 10 (26:08):
My wife gets pepperoni, and I like the fresh onions
and the peppers on my side.
Speaker 1 (26:13):
But oh yeah, you see, I love those those onions
and peppers. They just don't like me, but I love them. Yeah,
all right, Robert, who do you think? Who do you
think is gonna win tonight's game?
Speaker 2 (26:28):
Oh? Definitely definitely Philly.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
All right, Philly. That's that's that's like three or four. Oh,
thank you very much, Robert for your phone call. Let's
run over to hand Over next and we'll talk with
Nancy looking for your best place for pizza. Hey, Nancy,
welcome the Wicked Bites.
Speaker 11 (26:42):
Hid morning. I'm calling about Windy City and they are
located in Quincy. I think it is too Rochester. They
have a great pizza.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
All right, I'm not familiar with them. Is it a
pizza shop? Is it act?
Speaker 11 (26:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (26:59):
Is that all they do there?
Speaker 11 (27:01):
They have everything case of dias, you can have dias,
a lot of things. Check out the menu. One of
the best hidden jewels in the city Dorchester Quinsy. They're
located in Marsy Boulevard, Quinsy and Northport Avenue and then
in Weymouth Main Street. They offer many selections. The wings
(27:27):
are really great, the pizza is terrific.
Speaker 12 (27:31):
They have.
Speaker 11 (27:33):
Case of dias, they have wraps you get at all
in one location and they deliver wow wow.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
So they're they're pretty I have a feeling they're going
to be pretty busy today.
Speaker 11 (27:44):
Yes, it's kind of like should I share or not
share it? Because then you can't get a pizza when
you want to get a pizza and long eye. So
that's the way it goes in the world today when
there's good places to eat.
Speaker 1 (27:55):
That's right. The Windows City. I'm looking at their website
right now. Well, it looks like they opened up their
I guess their first location in eighty nine, so they've
been around for quite a while now and they have
the locations in Dorchester Quinsy and in Weymouth, so quite
a few three locations. And the food looks great that
I'm seeing. What's your favorite pizza that you get at
(28:18):
the Windy City Pizza. Oh that's a good one. Yeah.
I like the Margharita pizza. All right, So that's a praise,
A big shout out for the Windy City Pizza. Three locations, Dorchester, Quinsy,
and Weymouth. And I got to ask Nancy predictions for
tonight's game. Who do you think is gonna win?
Speaker 11 (28:37):
Philadelphia?
Speaker 1 (28:38):
Philly? All right, another Philly fan, all right, thank you
very much for your phone call. Yeah, Philly's running away
with her right now. But you know, I did think
they would get past a couple of the other teams,
and they found a way to get past those other teams.
So we're going to see tonight. I have a feel
it's going to come down to the end, right to
the end, like they normally do lately. All right, eight
eight eight four to three four sixty four sixty four
(29:01):
is the number. That's eight eight eight four three four
sixty four sixty four. If you were trying to get
in a little while ago, all over lines were tied up.
We got them all opened right now for you. I'm
looking for the best place for pizza, and I know
you can unlock that key for me. In addition to that,
you've got a great place for wings. I'd love to
hear that or any time any type of food that
would be great for tonight's game. Eight eight eight four
(29:24):
three four sixty four sixty four is a number. That's
eight eight eight four three four sixty four sixty four. Again, Carol,
will take your name and address, because we will award
a gift card each hour to one of the callers
at random. I'll try to find a place that's close
to them so that way they go out and they
get to try it all right. Eight eight eight four
three four sixty four sixty four is our number. The
(29:47):
Foenician To restaurant. I was there about three weeks ago.
I saw I saw him and the whole crew over there,
and of course I had to enjoy their primary bullet.
Their primarym is so good, I mean really good. It's
one of those it's one of those specialty items that
they make that I know a lot of places do
(30:08):
it on like a Friday, Saturday nights. They do it
every night that they're open, and the reason there's such
a demand for it is because it's so good. It's
the history and everything that goes back with this restaurant.
But boy, I love their prime rib, whether it's the
King or the Queen cut. I'll tell you right now,
there's no way you could finish the King cut. It's
like almost three pounds of meat. But boy, those ju
(30:30):
sauce and the two sides that you get, it's just
out of this world. The Phoenician Restaurant Route one ten
twelve out for Street and Haveral. Save room for dessert. Yeah, sure,
because you can't get past the prime rib. Right. They
have Baked Alaska, and I happen to know they use
Richester's ice cream. It's great, all right. That's the Phoenician Restaurant,
Route one ten twelve out for Street, and that is
(30:52):
in Haveral. Yesterday on the radio show that I did here,
I do here on Saturday nights on WRHL Wichardbites It
from five to six on Saturday nights, I had John
on from good Night Johnny's American Music Bar in Burlington.
I love this restaurant. This is the place I discovered
not too long ago. We were out filming and sometimes
(31:14):
I find these, you know, I've been to hundreds and
hundreds of They've got thousands upon thousands of restaurants, right,
and every once in a while there's a place that
will just kind of surprise me. And good Night Johnny's
is just one of those places. And they've only been
around for I think one year coming up. I think
today is there one year anniversary at good Night Johnny's.
(31:36):
But boy, from the atmosphere and the food quality, you
cannot beat this restaurant. They're located in Burlington on Cambridge Street.
There's plenty of parking, you got Boston atmosphere. But the pricing,
I don't think there's any item. I think the most
expensive item is like thirty seven dollars, but most of
them in the twenties. And they're good portions. So if
you go in there for the chicken parmesan, that's great.
(31:58):
Or my favorite right now, especially this time of year,
is the short ribs and mashed potatoes. You have braised
short ribs served over mashed potatoes and that is excellent.
And they have a pastry chef in there. Now, very
few restaurants have pastry chefs, and she's just does a
wonderful job there. I love her key line pie. I
didn't get a chance to try their chocolate Larva cake,
(32:20):
but I'm sure that's sensational as well. It's called good
Night Johnny's American Music Bar. It's located in Burlington, and
the reason it's called music bar is they have entertainment
that They got a Sunday brunch going on right now.
They got a jazz trio that's happening there, and they
do music every night of the week there and there's
no cover charge, and it's a place where the music
(32:41):
doesn't drowned out your conversations because they went the extra
bile when they built the restaurant to make sure they
had all the proper acoustical tiles to absorb the sound
so you could go in there for the Sunday brunch,
have your conversation the joy the music, or go in
there when they have some of the tribute bands. I
know they have a tailor swing if that might even
be sold out. Uh impersonator coming in soon, but they
(33:05):
do a lot of events like that. They got an
Elvis impersonator that's always very popular too. Good Night Johnny's again,
it's located in Burlington. Let's get back to the phone
calls on this kind of I guess post snowstorm day outside.
The sun is popping out, but it's not all that
friendly outside right now. Let's go to Steve and Mathua next,
(33:26):
Steve Welko on the Wicked Bites. Hey, how are you excellent?
Speaker 2 (33:30):
Steve?
Speaker 6 (33:31):
All right, So my push was, you know, the new
smoke shops. I think that's going to pop up a
few times. And the guy that opened them up, he
was on that Hell's Kitchen.
Speaker 1 (33:42):
Yes, yeah, all of a sudden, Andy Husbands and the
name of the rest was the smoke.
Speaker 6 (33:47):
Shop, right yeah, yeah, so you know, I you know,
I used to go to Texas Rodolfs for ribs, you know, yeah,
but these ribs are like huge and they're much better,
much better than Nick Clown. We're their favorite now.
Speaker 2 (33:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
And he's done a lot of competitive cooking as well
as his own barbecue team, and he does he does excellent, excellent.
Speaker 6 (34:08):
Uh yeah, my son gets the pull pork and it's
really it's awesome good stuff there. So I'm really excited
about the having it now, you know. Yeah, I know
what I'm always I'm always a cherry is on what
what's that is?
Speaker 5 (34:26):
Like?
Speaker 6 (34:27):
Like and our best place for a hidden jewel would
be like.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
Tweights, yes, yeah.
Speaker 6 (34:33):
And like what other towns have hidden jewels like that?
Speaker 1 (34:37):
Right? I love finding out about them because those are
the places I love. The feature on the TV show,
we featured Thwaites and that took me forever to learn
how to say it, because my tongue just doesn't want
to do that. I just say I think that you're drunk,
and then you could say it and then it started
coming out. But those English pork pies that they do,
and they do a couple of different styles of they're excellent,
(34:58):
they really are, and I love and and the building
itself is creaking, it's cracking. You walk on the rich
wood floor and it brings you back. It just brings
you back. And of course this especially market too, so
they got a lot of other stuff that you could
make and bring home and you can cook it home.
But I love places like the ways And if folks
(35:20):
call in and recommend places, you never know, we may
feature them on the TV show.
Speaker 6 (35:24):
Yeah, that'd be nice to know, you know, like if
I'm down on floor river, like which place was that
hidden jewel?
Speaker 1 (35:29):
You know?
Speaker 6 (35:30):
Yes, you know, from another town way to go to
you know.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (35:33):
But anyways, the other thing is you mentioned on the Phoenician.
You know they used to that was a lot of
the cooks that the Phoenician were from bishops.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
Bishops yep.
Speaker 6 (35:40):
So the place is a home run. And oh that's
a grand slam.
Speaker 1 (35:43):
Right, and they they kept those those recipes true to
form on all their their hand cut French fries are
out of this world. It's hard to stop.
Speaker 6 (35:54):
Yeah, you got you gotta get the fries when you
go there.
Speaker 1 (35:56):
Yeah, yeah, they definitely do. All right, thank you for
your phone call. All his recommendation was for the smoke shop.
It's Andy Husband's place. He has four of them now.
He has one assembly Row, Harvard Square, East Boston Seaport
District and Mathullin so that's five now, so it has
five total right now. And it's barbecue. I know, it's
(36:20):
brisket's excellent. The last time I was in there was
in the Assembly Row place and that was a while ago,
and they're brisket is just excellent, absolutely excellent there. So
I know you enjoy it. The smoke shop, all right,
those several locations you go out and try it. Let's see.
I got to take a break in just a few moments,
(36:41):
but I wanted to update you too, because you've been
hearing me do a lot of commercials for Transition Medical
Weight Loss in Sale, New Hampshire. That's that weight loss
program that I have been on. I have lost thirty
seven pounds. I'm actually trying to stop losing weight right now.
I've reached my goal weight. Actually my goal weight is
ten pounds ago and then I said, boy, that was
(37:02):
kind of easy. I'm going to increase it another five pounds.
And then I said, you know what, let me go
another five pounds. So I've passed that other five pounds
and I'm like, now now I'm ready to start eating
on a regular basis. And not that you ever, I
ever felt it the pride, because you know, here I am.
I go to hundreds of restaurants. So I go out
to these restaurants all the time. And I was doing
(37:23):
it on the diet. But because there is a whole
doctor's office, I mean, there's a doctor's program behind it,
and he designed it the program, a Transition Medical Weight Loss.
But there's a whole bunch of folks behind it as well,
from dietitian behavioral therapists in there. They help you through
the process. So now that I've got to my new
(37:47):
goal weight, the job is to keep that weight off.
And I feel because i've been I probably like a
lot of you. Right, you go on a diet and
you do great. In about months to a year later,
you put it all back on, right. But every time
I've gone off a diet, I kind of just went
(38:09):
back to my old ways, if you know what I
If you know what I mean, I've learned a lot.
And now I even though I haven't been true to
the diet over the last couple because I was out
out for a week in Florida, I wasn't on the
diet there, and I still lost four pounds while I
was in Florida. And I didn't deprive myself. If anything,
I had too many cookies one day, maybe two days,
(38:32):
you know. But it's the way you eat and how
you eat, and they step you through that process. And
don't think that you're too young or too old to
lose weight. And it is easy to do. You could
do it in the comfort of your own home. They
have their own app so you could have your own
you know, discussion with them. They could step you through
what you need to do and what type of food
(38:53):
to get, or you could do what I did. And
that's going right on into their place in the film.
And I go in once a week. It's for a
way in and it's in Salem, just off the highway
sale New Hampshire, and they, you know, I get my
way in there. I get to be twelve shot because
(39:15):
I get vitamin packs and everything while I'm there as well,
because the doctor wants to make sure you're perfectly healthy,
right and I pick up my food.
Speaker 2 (39:23):
Now.
Speaker 1 (39:24):
They have over six hundred items and they're changing them
all the time. So in the morning, I love their pancakes.
I get pancakes and I put probably a little too
much syrup on it, but you know, it didn't hurt
my weight loss at all. And I'm meeting throughout today.
They got great snacks that you have. They have lunch,
I get like a half a burger for lunch. And
at dinner, I mean having pizza. These round pizzas, their
(39:47):
individual round pizzas there that I put into the oven,
and boy they come out perfect and I love. I'm
gonna miss those, you know, I'm probably gonna get a
few of those, you know what I mean? That way,
when I'm hungry now for dinner, I don't have to
think about, you know, getting going out and stuffing down
all that food. And to me, I could eat healthy
(40:07):
and maintain this weight loss, and they could do the
same for you. So don't think you're too young or
too old. Right Transition Medical weight Loss there in Salem,
New Hamps. You could go on in and talk to them.
I suggest that you do that and lose the weight
like I did. You'll find that it is extremely extremely
easy nowadays. And of course since there's a doctor's office
(40:29):
behind it, you meet with the doctor and if you
would like, you could take those brand new and you
could do it with the diet going on the diet
and you could take those brand new medical weight loss
drugs that are out there, which makes the whole process
even easier for you to lose that weight. So if
you need more information, go to the website Transition Salem
dot com. That's Transition Salem dot com. Make sure you
(40:51):
tell my sensea. I know they'll give you great service
over there. Lose the weight. I did it in three
and a half months, Yeah, three and a half months.
I lost all that weight and I feel cool weight
I do. Yeah, they could do it for you, so go.
They don't put it off. Right, you're probably gonna like
everybody else. You could probably have a ton of pizza
(41:12):
to Now you get a field, you're gonna gonna feel
sick about yourself later on. Right, well, they could give
you a whole new awakening of life transition, medical weight
loss and sale. New Hampshire. All right, let me take

love that one. That's excellent. Garlic Breath in North Andover
and Jony's. I'm not sure where Joni's is. I've heard of,
(47:15):
I just can't come into my head right away where
they're located. Frankie, he says, for Gina's in the North End,

of game food today. I'm talking about wings. I'm talking
about if you do Chinese takeout, I want to hear
about that as well. Eight eight four three four sixty
(50:52):
four sixty four is our number. And I'm sure Dom
Sausage Company of Maldon they were pretty busy. They have
those great steak tips that you could just heat up
in a frying pan. You cook them in a frying pan.
You don't have to take all the snow off from
last night off the you know your grill. I got
a smoker going on, right, I gotta pull pork on
(51:12):
the smoker and I had to clean off all the
snow and they had to dig my dig a path
to the smoker. But Domsas is coming their steak tips.
You don't need to do that. No, you can do
them in a frying pan. You don't have to get
your feet all wet and cold.
Speaker 18 (51:24):
Right.
Speaker 1 (51:25):
They're so good. You can find them not only at
Dom Sausage Company in Malden, but you can find a
lot of specialty shops as well. And if you're entertaining today, well,
your guest is gonna love you because there's nothing like
a Dom sausage steak tip. Yeah, they're better than most restaurants.
They're that good. Let's get to the phone calls. Let's
go to Phil in thethil In next. Hey, Phil, welcome
the Wicked Byes Radio.
Speaker 8 (51:47):
Good morning, Scott. This pizza pizza in the world is
with Genius Pizza in the North End in Boston.
Speaker 1 (51:55):
Yeah. I second that. I love their pizza. It's the
most con assistant pizza I have ever had in my life.
They're always good.
Speaker 8 (52:04):
I was gonna, yeah, I was going to tell you
the gentleman they called earlier. Yeah, I guess you recommended
Sentientapio's and he didn't like to pick Crest as much
as a thin which you can't get fitter than Regina's
Pizza from the North End.
Speaker 5 (52:19):
Not you know.
Speaker 8 (52:20):
I know they opened some satellite places in the past,
but it's only the North End. It's the same pizza
that I used to get there when I was in
my twenties, and I want to say that it's almost
fifty years ago, so it's consistent. It's always the same.
It's delicious, and I think the secret they told me
(52:41):
it's the same pizza oven that they've had there for.
Speaker 1 (52:44):
Well that's that's one. That's one of the secrets. If
you asked Mede, there's nothing like I don't know if
there's the old char from old piezas that have been
in there or whatever for a hundred years, but that's
just one of their secrets. And I think it's the
way they make and prepare their pizzas and how consistent
(53:07):
they are their dough. Because Regina Pizza way back when
I'm talking one hundred years ago, it was a bakery.
They of course baked breads in that oven and they
started doing pizza. So there's a little more just a
little more air in their dough. But they age it
(53:27):
for seven days. Not many places can afford to do that,
but they they do. They age their dough before they
use it, and it's the consistency of the sauce and
the cheese. There's nothing like it if you ask me.
And the experience in the North End of Boston, the
original one. You'll see there'll be a line lined up
around the corner before they open up for lunch.
Speaker 8 (53:50):
You have just describe makes it worth the wait, you know,
especially if you're in town and going to a hockey
or a basketball game or exactly.
Speaker 1 (54:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (54:00):
Yeah, and now I know it's not convenient, but today
I'm not going to drive into Boston to get pizza.
But uh, as a default, I usually get Tripoli's or
Heroes locally here in the Doing, you know, and I
put it in the freezer to uh, you know, so
I can have one anytime I want. It's the beach style.
(54:23):
If you like the beach style pizza.
Speaker 1 (54:25):
Yeah, it's the if you want extra cheese, they throw
a slica plever alone on top. It's I would say
it's a Sicilian pizza exactly. I like the edges. I
like I have to have an edge. I don't like
the middle pieces where there's nothing to hold on to
because when they cut it, because it's coming out in
(54:46):
the sheet, I'm always somebody. I give me a corner.
I love. The corner is probably the best.
Speaker 2 (54:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (54:52):
No, I'm the same way. And I on a previous called,
someone mentioned smoke Shop in the Doing. I guess that's
a new restaurant.
Speaker 1 (54:59):
Yeah, it's in the old outback location. Oh the old yeah, yep, okay,
and they do barbecue there. I would recommend their brisket.
I thought that brisket was excellent. But I was only
at the location about I would say about four years ago.
The assemblely row. But but their barbecue is really good.
Speaker 8 (55:22):
Okay, yeah, brisk it's my favorite.
Speaker 5 (55:24):
We'll try that.
Speaker 8 (55:25):
Okay, you said the man was on Ramsey's health.
Speaker 1 (55:31):
He was. He did a couple of a couple of
programs like that. Uh. He's competed competitively a barbecue contest
as well. He has his own barbecue team if I recall,
if I'm if I'm correct on that that goes that
has gone out and competed, so he's into it. It's
the real deal.
Speaker 8 (55:50):
Okay, great, I'll try that.
Speaker 1 (55:51):
All right. Thanks, Thanks Phil for your phone call his recommendations. Well,
Regina Pizzerio on Thatcher Street in the North end of
Boston was one Tripoli's. They got a location at Salisbury Beach.
They have one of Lawrence North Andover as well, and
Piros Italian Bakery and Pizzeria. They're located on Merrimack Street
in with Thu one. All right, let's go back to
(56:12):
the calls. Let's go to Glenn and Brighton next. Hey, Glenn,
welcome the Wigabytes.
Speaker 2 (56:17):
Yeah. I love this show because I want to promote
Pinos Pizzeria in Cleveland Circle.
Speaker 1 (56:21):
All right, tell me about it.
Speaker 2 (56:24):
Well, they opened in nineteen sixty two. In fact, in
nineteen ninety two they were giving out thirtieth anniversary of
beer bottle openers that you put on your keychain with
their name on it. I mean, they don't have a
license to sell beer. But if they had these, you
know that it's like you, it's a bottle opener you
put on.
Speaker 1 (56:43):
Your yeah, right exactly, you put on your keychain. Is
it a place that you get is a BYLB?
Speaker 2 (56:52):
Well, I don't think so. They don't have a license.
They tried, they're trying to. They're trying to get a
license to that for long time, but they can't see
the something to do with Boston college students. I don't know.
They're afraid of there'll be too much booze. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (57:12):
I like the and for you, what makes Pinos so
special is the type of pizza that they make. What's
their style? First of all, a pizza that they have
a Pinos pizza.
Speaker 2 (57:25):
Well, I don't know their family restaurant. I wish their
crust was a little center. That's Miami mild critique, but
I just like that I can get like hamburg I
can get bacon or Canadian bacon. My favorite is mushroom
and sausage. I don't know how to explain it, but
I just you know, I've been going there since nineteen
(57:47):
eighty five. I've lived here forty years.
Speaker 1 (57:51):
So, right, they're located in Brighton and they've been around
a long time, Hilley.
Speaker 2 (58:00):
Yeah, they're right next to Eagles Delhi.
Speaker 1 (58:02):
Okay, oh, okay, I know exactly where they are now
in Beacon Street. Yeah, I know exactly what you.
Speaker 2 (58:10):
Yeah next to.
Speaker 1 (58:13):
But but it's that consistency. They've been there for a
long time, so you know, they know what they're doing.
They do it right, so I'm sure they got a big,
big falling.
Speaker 2 (58:22):
I like to impress women with my beer bottle opener.
Speaker 1 (58:27):
All right, well that works for you, right, yeah, all right,
Well glad to hear that. Who you like it Tonight's game.
Speaker 2 (58:37):
Egos? Because I don't like Taylor Swift gay that her
boyfriend picked the place.
Speaker 1 (58:44):
For Well, yeah, well I I had in fantasy football.
I unfortunately had him, Travis Kelsey. He did not have
a big if you ask me, fantasy football league. So
a year for me, so I ended up in the bottom,
so I look at it that way. But I like
the Eagles. All right, Glenn, thank you very much for
(59:04):
your phone call. Eight eight eight four three four sixty
four sixty four is our number. That's eight eight eight
four three four sixty four sixty four. Let's get right
back to the phone calls. We're gonna go to Weymouth
next and we're gonna talk with We're gonna talk with Mike. Mike,
Welcome the Wicked Bites. Hi, how are you, excellent?
Speaker 18 (59:23):
Mike?
Speaker 5 (59:25):
Denley Gardens, Lake Street and Weymouth.
Speaker 1 (59:28):
Okay, the name of the place again, Denley's Denley's all right.
I'm not familiar with them, so you got to tell
me about them.
Speaker 5 (59:37):
Ben there since the twenties. I've been going there since
I was about ten years old. My dad used to
bring me there for pizza after baseball. It's still going there.
It was there two weeks ago, picked up a pizza.
They got one of the oldest stuffers that think you'll
ever find in the state. And what they do is
they sprinkle some corn meal down before they put the
(59:57):
pizza in. Yep, it is to die for. It is
the best around. They got the best meatballs as well.
Speaker 1 (01:00:03):
Well, you know, meatballs is one of those I know
it's been around for a while, but it's been gaining
and gaining popularity lately. It seems like a lot of
places to start to do a lot more with meatballs.
Speaker 5 (01:00:16):
Yeah, they get very good meatballs. You can get spaghetti
meatballs there in a salad as well, into pasto to
toss salad. Very reasonal prices. It's been in the family forever.
I'm sixty seven, so I've been going there since I
say like since I've been ten, so fifty seven years.
And it's fabulous, all right, Just a small, little, small,
(01:00:37):
little hole in the wall, limited parking, but well worth.
Speaker 1 (01:00:40):
It, all right. And again it's it's that old world
style pizza that they racked, all right, Yes, all right,
let's tell everybody it's called Denley's Garden and they're located
I'm gonna see if I could get an a dress
or they're located in Weymouth.
Speaker 2 (01:00:57):
Uh Street.
Speaker 5 (01:00:58):
I'm not sure the number.
Speaker 1 (01:01:00):
I had it a second ago, twenty five Lake Street
in East Weymouth.
Speaker 5 (01:01:03):
That sounds about right.
Speaker 1 (01:01:05):
Yeah, all right, great, great recommendation. What's your favorite pizza
when you go in there.
Speaker 5 (01:01:11):
I get the pepperoni and meatball.
Speaker 1 (01:01:12):
Okay, perfect, I can't go wrong with that. All right,
who do you like it Tonight's game?
Speaker 5 (01:01:18):
I like the Eagles by seven.
Speaker 1 (01:01:20):
Eagles by seven, all right, I'll go with that too.
All right, thank you very much for your phone call, Mike,
and go Eagles. If you ask me tonight, I'd like
to see you.
Speaker 19 (01:01:30):
Know.
Speaker 1 (01:01:30):
But everybody I've rooted for so far this year in
the playoffs, they've all lost, So I don't know what
that means. It's probably my due to win one. We'll
find out. Let's go to Joseph and lind next. Hey, Joe,
welcome the Wicked Bites. Oh hold on, Joe, Joseph, my
fault forgot to turn you on. Hey, welcome the Wicked Bites.
Speaker 20 (01:01:51):
I'm glad you putting me on. I didn't hear that beep. Yeah, yeah,
we got quite a bit of snow here. I'm not
a football player, so I won't think on that. I
like to tell you about Mandy's and Lynn. I'm gonna
try Regina if I tried it once, I liked that
Mandy's is personal pizzas they deliver. You can't you can
sit there there's a small place but mostly delivered. They
make small personal pizzas, like three or four or five slices,
(01:02:13):
and I like that, you know, I do like always
the big but they're very good. They used to be
family owned. I hope they don't change. Mandy's Pizza on
good Rich Street and Lynn, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:02:24):
You know, I've heard a lot about them. I have
not tried them yet, but this is a place. I
mean every year they seem like they keep popping up,
you know, and getting a lot of phone calls, a
lot of mentions on this radio show. I just haven't.
I haven't tried them yet.
Speaker 20 (01:02:43):
Oh I hope I win the ticket. And I heard
my friend Glynn on there. We but not going to
church today because the weather. But yeah, there are pizzas
are mostly very good most of the time nine percent
of the time.
Speaker 1 (01:02:57):
Yep, Well that is good.
Speaker 20 (01:02:59):
I deliver, which is good delivery.
Speaker 1 (01:03:01):
Right, And I always like pizzas when it's delivered, because
they seem like they've delivery people get them there before
with the bags that they have. Now they're still nice
and warm when you get them. Yeah, all right, And
let me ask you, Joseph, what's your favorite pizza when
you get it there.
Speaker 20 (01:03:18):
Well, I get a vegetable pizza with no sauce, peppers onions, mushrooms, spinach,
maybe tomatoes, and sometime I put a little meat on sometime,
like pepperoni or bacon or something.
Speaker 1 (01:03:29):
Perfect. Sounds great. All right, thank you all. I thank
you Joseph for your phone call again. The place is
called Mandy's Pizza. They're located sixty five good Ridge Street
and that is in Lynn. Really a highly recommended place.
I mean it really does well. Established in nineteen sixty two,
you know, which is great. I happened to notice because
(01:03:53):
we're coming up on Valentine's Day. I think they did
Hart shape pizzas last year. That popped up on their Facebook.
And they also use Mike Hott's honey on some of
their pizzas as a topic and their wings. I love that.
I actually have the pulled pork and I'm gonna put
a little bit of Mike's hot honey on top of that.
You'll see that used a lot in the Detroit style pizzas.
(01:04:15):
Right now, they finish it off with a little bit
of Mike Hot honey. And I like the Detroit style
pizza if you ask me, because it's not it's done
in a pan, so it's a little bit thicker, but
it's excellent. I think it's really really good. But you
gotta have a special pizza oven for what I'm told.
So now, not a lot of places do it, but
(01:04:36):
if it's done, you're gonna like it, all right. I
also got a message up on Facebook a slice pizza
in Wakefield, and this comes from Sean, A big recommendation,
Slight's Pizza, Wakefield. I can tell you that's in a
gas station and they sell a lot of pizzas in there.
I tried. I think they're really good. Michael G's in
(01:04:56):
Chelsea and the Brown Jug in Chelsea's also Sean recommends.
So the couple of recommendations up there. Eight eight eight
four three four sixty four sixty four is a number
that's eight eight eight four three four sixty four sixty four.
Get some line open for the first time in a while,
So we want to hop in there. I tell me
(01:05:18):
your favorite place for pizza. You've got a great place
for wings. I want to hear about that as well,
all right. Eight eight eight four three four sixty four
sixty four. And I'm looking for folks that haven't called
into the radio show before, because your opinion is just
as valid as all of ours. Right, what do you like?
What's your favorite place? That's as easy as it gets.
Right when I say we're going out for pizza, where
(01:05:41):
do you want to go? Eight eight eight four three
four sixty four sixty four, I could tell you a
place that I went not too long ago, and it's
an Italian restaurant. It's called Bosa Coastal Italian. It's located
in Haver right on the Merrimack River. It's owned by
Sal Napoli. Now Sal owns Sal's Pizzas, but this is
(01:06:02):
an Italian restaurant that he has, and they have a
pizza oven in there. And the pizza oven, I would say, there,
the pizzas that they make there, they're more kicked up
than you know, the regular Sal's pizza. They have a
pizza with their pepperoni. They use the cupping pepperoni. Folks,
if you haven't had a cupping pepperoni, it's hard to
(01:06:25):
go back to the original ones, if you know what
I mean, Because as they as they have it in
the pizza oven, the kind of cup up and it
catches all that flavor. And they get a little bit
of a crust around that pepperoni, you'll just start picking
them off the pizza and eating them. They're they're that good,
and you get it. At Bosa Restaurant, Bosa Coastal Italian
in Haverol, they got a Sunday brunch that's going on
(01:06:46):
today and they also on their Sunday brought use that
pizza oven and it turns out penuzzio penusio, I believe
I'm saying it right, which is a pizza sandwich. And
in that sandwich there's ham, there's cheese, there's pascudo and
a little bit of a chili mayo and it's an
(01:07:06):
egg sandwich. So it's a great Sunday brunch item. But
because there's a lot of pizza dough around it, it's
gonna fill you out. But it's great. They got chicken
and waffles going on today and Mimosa Flights called Bosa
Coastal Italian beautiful restaurant. It really is. I think this
is one of Salapoli's finest restaurants set that you're gonna
go out to. For the atmosphere and the food quality,
you're gonna love it all right, and for dinner. Their
(01:07:29):
roasted cod is if you love seafood, that's not to
be missed. Bosa Coastal Italian, one sixty Berrimac Street and
that is in Haverol right there in the Merrimack River.
I mentioned earlier we have Kevin con our psychic medium
at the China Blossom coming up on Sunday, March ninth.
You need to get tickets pretty quick. I had a
(01:07:51):
really a soft announcement that we were doing the show
at March on Wednesday of this past week at ten
to fifteen. The tickets are already gone. And what it
is is he's a psychic medium, extraordinary age. He'll just
blow your mind. And we got a lot of folks
that come back time and time again. I mean he's
that good. And they've got a lot of people to
(01:08:13):
come in and never they don't want to be read.
You bring a photograph if you want to be read.
One photograph of somebody who passed away, and we put
him on a table in front of him and Kevin
just scans the table and he says, whoever talks loudest
to him, he starts doing a reading and we do
about ten to fifteen readings during the show and then
nothing short of amazing. And I've had so many people
(01:08:33):
that have their pictures up there and they've never seen
Kevin before, and by the intermission they pull their pictures
down because they're saying, yeah, they got chicken right. Because
he's so detailed at times telling the music that they
he hears, things that he sees, streets that streets that
they live on. Are just really absolutely amazing. And this
(01:08:55):
is great for groups, for family, for friends to come
in and see. Of course I'll be it with Kevin.
And it does include there all you can eat Chinese
lunch buffet, so it is lunch and then the show.
It starts at one pm on Sunday, March ninth. To
get tickets, uh, the best way to do it is
to go to event Bright. That's where you order your tickets.
Event Bright. Just search up Kevin Cohen and he spells
(01:09:17):
his last name co A M got that Kevin Cohn.
China Blossom in North Andover. That's the home of that
wonderful all you can eat Chinese buffet and it's so
so good. Their did of affet features primary it's excellent.
Don't forget about their my ties again. The China Blossom.
You'll located every one twenty five in North Andover. Now,
one of the places that we're going to feature and
(01:09:38):
show you on the television show coming up that we're
filming on pizza is a place out in Norton and
they do South Shore Bar pizza and it's called Raging
Masshole Pizza Company and they're pizza that they do that.
I had to try it. I just had, you know,
(01:09:58):
you see something you gotta say, let me try it.
And I liked it a lot. I never thought of
it before, but I really like it. They make a
Salve Shore Bar pizza with New England clam chowder. So
I don't know how you order New England clam chowders
bar pizza. I don't know, but try it. It just
(01:10:20):
goes so well. They got that richness from the clam
chowder on top, which of course has the butter and
the potatoes, and then they put on some some chopped
bacon on top of it, so you get the char
from that bacon and a little bit of red sauce.
So when it comes out, it looks like a normal pizza,
but it's very flavorful, it really is, and you'll see
(01:10:42):
them coming up on the television show in just a
couple of weeks. And we love Love Fighting unique places.
And they're actually at a liquor store, convenience store, mainly
a liquor store. And they're good there, really are, and
they they have a lot of returning customers already. They
don't have been around for a while, but they'll do
(01:11:03):
a lot of things that kind of will surprise you
there with their pizzas. So look for that coming up
on the television show in just a couple of weeks
right there on nesson Saturday mornings at eight thirty and
Sunday nights at ten pm on NESS. And that's the
new England Sports Network. All right, let me take a
quick break here, we got some lines open. We only
got about a half hour left right now. In the
program today, we're looking for the world's best best pizza.
(01:11:29):
Where is it? All right? Here's the number to call
eight eight eight four three four sixty four sixty four.
That's eight eight eight four three four sixty four sixty four.
Carol's going to take your name and address, and who knows,
maybe you'll be dining on us. We're calling in and
tell me about the great place for pizza or wings
on today's program. All right, here's the number to call.
(01:11:49):
Come on, folks, be dialing eight eight eight four three
four sixty four sixty four. My name is Scott Whitley
and this is Wicked Bites Radio. Yeah, welcome back. My
(01:12:11):
name is Scott Widley. This is Wicked Bytes Radio on
this Sunday morning. Yeah, it's stowed last night, as most
of you know. And it is cold outside as well.
It's a great day to stay inside right and keep warm.
But we're also talking pizza on the program today because
that is our topic. I'm looking for the best pizza
(01:12:32):
in the land on today's program. Let's say we get
right back to the phone calls eight eight eight four
three four sixty four sixty four. Is another. Let's go
to Sue in Southway and if hey, Sue, welcome the
Wicked Bites.
Speaker 2 (01:12:45):
Hi.
Speaker 1 (01:12:45):
How are you excellent?
Speaker 5 (01:12:46):
Sue?
Speaker 4 (01:12:47):
We went to pizza Friday night. It's called Cape Cod
Pizza in Brockton. We've never been there, but it is
the best I ever had.
Speaker 1 (01:12:55):
Yeah, I heard their excellent. I have not been to
the to their location, but that is a I planned
to visit them soon.
Speaker 6 (01:13:05):
Yeah, you should.
Speaker 4 (01:13:06):
I was going to get the pepperoni, but the bartender said,
try the red pepper and garlic and it was delicious.
Speaker 1 (01:13:13):
Yeah. Those are the sal Shore bar pizzas.
Speaker 4 (01:13:17):
That they have there because we're on the South Shore
by list.
Speaker 1 (01:13:20):
Yeah, and they were also available in a lot of supermarkets.
I haven't tried their frozen pizzas before, but I know
they haven't a lot of supermarkets.
Speaker 4 (01:13:30):
And other good places. Venus and Hanson.
Speaker 1 (01:13:33):
Okay, Venus and Hanson, So tell me about Venus Restaurant.
Speaker 4 (01:13:39):
We just went there for pizza and it was really good.
Speaker 5 (01:13:41):
Okay, that was that was pretty good.
Speaker 4 (01:13:44):
I think the cape cod pizza is the best though,
from what I've had.
Speaker 1 (01:13:50):
Okay, so that the cape cod pizza. Let me see
if I could get you the information they they might
have more than one location, so let me let me
see if I can find that they do.
Speaker 4 (01:13:59):
I was going to tell you that, but the ladies
we were talking to at the bach, he said, this
is the best. The Brockton one's the best.
Speaker 1 (01:14:05):
Yes, right, they and they've been doing it for a
long time and they do them been doing it right.
They Bridgewater, Brockton, Rainam and Halifax. So they have four locations.
Speaker 4 (01:14:15):
Yes, but they don't just sell pizza. There's other food too,
but we just went for the pizza.
Speaker 15 (01:14:18):
It was really good.
Speaker 1 (01:14:19):
Yeah, they also have their Italian kitchen. I think is
that at the Broxton location only that they have, like
their Italian kitchen, which does I know they do meat
balls and stuff like that food to bring home.
Speaker 4 (01:14:33):
There's a building across the street that says Cape Caught Pizza,
So I wonder if that it.
Speaker 18 (01:14:37):
Could be h.
Speaker 1 (01:14:40):
Yeah, I only know that because I had them on
the Saturday Night Show a couple of weeks back. We
talked about their their their pizza, and then we also
talked about their Italian kitchen, which is it's a GROCERYA,
it's a restaurant. They it's and it is located in Brockton.
Speaker 2 (01:14:56):
Yeah, it's right.
Speaker 4 (01:14:57):
Across the street. So and also their wine prices a fabulous.
Speaker 1 (01:15:01):
Oh okay, outrageous. That's good to know.
Speaker 4 (01:15:05):
Glass of wine before all right, great, thank.
Speaker 1 (01:15:09):
You, thank you very much. So who do you like
it Tonight's game?
Speaker 18 (01:15:16):
I don't care, doesn't to me, doesn't matter you.
Speaker 1 (01:15:18):
As long as long as the food is good, you
don't care, right, yeah? All right, yes, thank you for
your phone call again. Her recommendations for the Cape Cod
Cafe with three locations, four locations Bridgewater, Brockton, that's the
one she recommended, h Raynham and Halifax. All right, the
Cape Cod Cafe and there. Their other place that I
(01:15:42):
talked a little bit about is called uh Italian Kitchen
Grocery or restaurante of Brockton, and that is from what
I hear, they're doing great uh at their groceria.
Speaker 2 (01:15:54):
UH.
Speaker 1 (01:15:54):
I don't know. I haven't talked too much about there
with them about the rest right inside of that, but
I know they do. The Delhi does really well up there,
and they've done some great stuff there, and of course
you get their pizzas frozen and a lot of specially markets,
particularly on the south shore of the Cape Cod Cafe.
All right, this is wicked bites. My name is Scott Whitley.
(01:16:16):
On this kind of a cold day outside, I know
the sun's peaking at snows starting to melt twenty four
degrees outside in north andover right now. I don't know
where it is, what temperature is in your neck of
the woods, but I have a feeling it's probably pretty
close to that. We probably picked up about seven to
nine inches outside of my house last night in the
overnight area of that light fluffy snow. But it was
(01:16:39):
just a nuisance storm, if you ask me, because you
got another nuisance storm coming around. I don't mind the
snow on the you know, on the grass, you know,
but when it's on the roads that you get all
of that ice, that's what I hate about it. And
right now it's snow on top of snow with another
storm coming in a couple of days. Brady's Restaurant, you know,
they're located downtown at thirty seven Mechanics Street. They're not
(01:17:02):
open on Sundays, but I highly recommend that you take
some time and visit this restaurant and say hi to
chef owner Bill Brady. It is a restaurant where the
food quality is sensational, the atmosphere is great, and they're
always changing their menu. They are always adding things, making
(01:17:22):
seasonal changes as well. But one thing that is very
consistent now Chef Bill Brady. He said, you know what,
nobody in my area, and he's in the downtown Lemons area.
HEAs no one really in this area, and he goes
for twenty thirty miles dry ages. Their steaks, and they
do it, and they'll do it right in front of you.
When you walk in the entrance there, you'll see they're
(01:17:45):
Tomahawks steaks, they're surloin steaks, they're center cut steaks, all
dry aging in front of you. And boy, they are
so so good. They really are. So if you're in
the mood for a great steak, it's Brady's restaurant. But
their menu is very expansive, this thing for everybody. They
got great specials there. And best of all, if you
ask me, Brady's in Bar thirty seven and downtown Limits.
(01:18:07):
So they got parking. Yeah, a lot right across the street.
Just walk right across the street. You're right into Brady.
So say hi to the chef owner. I built Brady
for us. You're gonna love this restaurant. And I don't
care where you're listening to me from. You definitely definitely
want to get in there, right. Great cupcakes, pastries, cookies.
Where can they be found? Josie's Bakery of course, still
(01:18:28):
located in Wilmington the Crossroad shopping plaza. They have really
an old school method of way to put together there,
all of their treats, all their Italian treats there. They
got canoles and lobster tails, they got all that. They
have some incredible cakes. But I love their cupcakes. Yeah,
I just love, love, love their cupcakes. It's to the
(01:18:51):
point where if I'm in that area, I can't stop
myself from going in grabbing one or a cookie. They're
that good. Josie's Bakery Crossroads Shopping Plaza in Wilmington, You're
gonna love it. Wait till you see there specialty cakes.
They are a work of art. So if you've got
a special occasion coming up, whether it's a birthday, retirement party,
or Tuesday, it doesn't really matter. Wedding cake, they could
(01:19:12):
do it for you. They could custom design the cake
with their artists, and they are artists. I tried years ago.
I tried to decorate a cake, and that is incredibly
hard to do, and they make it look so easy
and so beautiful. I have seen some of the cakes
that they have produced. They had one it was like
(01:19:34):
two tacos on top. I don't know if it was
a Taco Tuesday or whatever it was, and the tacos
were cake and they were yellow and it looked like tacos.
I don't know how they did it. I've seen other
cakes that are just gorgeous. The cake they did for
me was perfectly designed for the colors that match the
plate sets and the settings that I had for a
(01:19:55):
special party for my wife. They could do it for you,
and the prices are great. The cakes are phenomenal. Do
wedding cakes. As I mentioned Josie's Bakery. They're located in
that Crossroad shopping plaza in Wilmington. Make sure you check
them out, all right, I know you're gonna love them.
Premiere on Broadway they got a Sunday brunch going on
right now. You know that, right Their Sunday brunch will
feature items that are just, you know, that little extra
(01:20:19):
step above. Whether you go in there and you get
one of their omelets. They have a what they call
a hunter's omelet with sausage, pepper, onion, a little bit
of cheddar cheese, and avocado. That's probably so I would
get right. They also have avocado toast that's really popular
right now. And and this is what's gonna kill you,
they have fresh baked doughnuts. Right then. That's what's on
(01:20:41):
their Sunday brunch at Premiere on Broadway, located at five
seventeen Broadway in Summerville, Corinne. She'll probably greet you at
the door. It's an Italian American eatery with sickeners or cocktails,
and on Sunday they even kick up their cocktails for
the Sunday brunch. There's music and is even dancing out back.
You'll love it as much as I do. Once you
go in there and try for the first time, you're
(01:21:02):
gonna be hooked. All right. Premiere on Broadway, five seventeen
Broadway in Summerville. Let's get back to the phone calls
on this Sunday morning. Let's go to Lowell next and
we'll talk with John. John. Welcome to the Wicked Bites.
Speaker 7 (01:21:15):
Hey, how you doing?
Speaker 1 (01:21:16):
Good? Good good John?
Speaker 7 (01:21:19):
Ah, the best. I have to believe. Lowell will go
to Impswich to get a good pizza. I have to
go to river View. That's an ipswitch past yep.
Speaker 1 (01:21:32):
Yeah, what makes them? Because you're going to Ipswich from Lowell.
That's not an easy ride. It's not many miles, but
it's a slow journey for you. What makes you go
that far for a great pizza?
Speaker 7 (01:21:45):
Well, when we go there, I got friends. We stay
over for the week and they live on High Street.
Speaker 3 (01:21:51):
But.
Speaker 7 (01:21:52):
They seem to make their own. The ones in Lols.
I don't know the sauces. They taste like they're out
of a can or something. But it must be the
sauce of it, that the sauce, the sauce that got
on it, that attracts me. But I mean, we go
down and open the four o'clock and a bunch of
us will go down there, get pizzas and a few,
(01:22:15):
you know, a few beers and all that and and
enjoy it, you know.
Speaker 1 (01:22:20):
Yeah, yeah, right, And that's what you wanted to, just
enjoy a great, great pizza. All right, You travel that far,
you stay overnight for their pizza. I have a feeling
you're not just a cheese pizza person. What would you
get when you're there?
Speaker 7 (01:22:37):
I like to like beat balls, hamburg pizza. I get
different ones all the time, uh, Pepperoni pizzas, you know,
And I have a few more beans than I should.
But that way, I'm not driving.
Speaker 1 (01:22:55):
That's all right. But yeah, all right, so so noted?
All right, so you go all the way to Ipswich.
Let me see if I get rid of the address
the Ipswich hold on now, you had it up on
my scrit Hereriet, Ipswich. It's in Ipswich. It's called the
Riverview Pizza twenty st Street in Ipswich.
Speaker 7 (01:23:19):
Yeah, right by the old Slovania building. Okay, fact for
you there along the river, right down the street from there.
Speaker 1 (01:23:26):
And John, one last question for you who like it.
Tonight's game.
Speaker 7 (01:23:31):
Definitely ethic. Kansas City all the.
Speaker 1 (01:23:35):
Way, All right, Kansas City. My wife just gave you
out a cheer. John, Thank you very much for your
phone call. Eight eight eight four three four sixty four
sixty four is our number. That's eight eight eight four
three four sixty four sixty four. You got to hurry up,
you know, give us a call right now, get in
before the show's over today. I wants the first time callers,
(01:23:57):
if you've been listening to me for a while, remember
this the first time you've heard me on the program.
We're here every single Sunday between ten and twelve on WRKO.
I also stream the show up on Facebook Wiki bytes
TV up on Facebook. That way you could comment there,
you could follow along with the conversation and you can
watch it back at any time. And I tried to
tag the places that get recommended on the show. That way,
(01:24:18):
when you when you're watch it on Facebook, you go
always click the link and that will take you right
to their page. We get all the information about that place.
So that's wikibytes TV on Facebook, we on the or
also on the iHeartRadio app. So where is the best
place for Petez? Come on eight eight eight four three
four sixty four sixty four. That's eight eight eight four
(01:24:40):
three four sixty four sixty four. And again, if you've
been listening to me for a while, or maybe there's
even your first time, I want to hear from some
new folks in those few minutes that we have left
on the program today eight eight eight four three four
sixty four sixty four. If you're thinking about investing, there
looking for some great opportunities to invest. One thing that
(01:25:01):
has done really well over the last couple of years
is rare coins and silver's done. Okay, gold has done great,
not lately, I think, didn't gold just close it a
record high just recently? Silver's done I think, well, considering
your investment points, it does really well. I started investing
in silver coins with Warren Mills rare coins in a
(01:25:23):
Hampshire about five years ago. At that time, I was
paying sixteen dollars an ounce. It's up to like thirty
one thirty two dollars an ounce now in that short
period of time. Warm Mills rare coins in a Hampshire.
He does travel the country, he does look for rare coins.
He may come right to your house and he pays
some of the highest prices as well. So you're thinking
about selling old coins, he's the guy to call Warmills
rare coins of New Hampshire eight hundred two two five seven,
(01:25:47):
two sixty four. And if you because you see a
lot of these advertising on radio, TV, you see it everywhere,
all these companies selling gold and silver coins, be careful.
Over the last couple of years, counterfeiting has gotten to
such a degree. Even an expert like Warren Mills, who
has about forty years of experience, can't just look at
(01:26:08):
that coin, to hold that coin and tell you if
it's real or fake. So he went to the Space
Agency NASA and he purchased a piece of equipment that
looks right inside those coins to make sure it's pure.
So if you bought gold and silver over the last
couple of years, if you bought a gold coin and
it's fake. It's gonna set you back a couple of
thousand bucks. That's gonna hurt right. Well, the person I
want you to bring him up, he'll take a look
(01:26:28):
at him for you, free of charge. That way you
could sleep at night. Right is Warren Mills. Eight hundred
two two five seven two sixty four. That's eight hundred
two two five seven two A six four all right.
Eight eight eight four three four sixty four sixty four
is our number here to wicket bydes Radio. I got
(01:26:50):
a line open for you looking for the best pizza.
He got a great place to wins. I want to
hear that as well. Eight eight eight four three four
sixty four sixty four. Let me take quick break. He'll
come back with more phone calls and wrap things up.

Speaker 18 (01:30:25):
Hey Scott, thanks love it to love the show.
Speaker 1 (01:30:27):
Thank you.
Speaker 18 (01:30:29):
Best pizza place, B and F Pizza on Lake Street
in Wallfam.
Speaker 1 (01:30:35):
Okay being F B and F and sorry, I l
like street in Wallfam. Tell me what makes them so special?
Speaker 18 (01:30:45):
It's just it's Greek style. It's B and F. I
think it stands for brick and fire, but I'm not sure.
It's just a Greek style, really light. The sauce is sweet.
It's so you can eat an entire pizza and not
even realize without batting an eyelash.
Speaker 1 (01:31:04):
It's amazing.
Speaker 18 (01:31:04):
They've been there on Lake Street in Waltham forever.
Speaker 1 (01:31:08):
Yeah, again, those those places that have been around for
a while. There is a reason why they've been around.
And it's always a great food.
Speaker 18 (01:31:18):
It's amazing. It's a it's a little sub shop. They
only got about three tables maybe, you know. It's one
of those places. The subs, the dinners, the salads, it's
all amazing. But the pizzas is the absolute best, all right.
Speaker 1 (01:31:30):
And when you're when you go there, and again, they've
been around for thirty plus years at this point. Bn
F Pizza in Waltham. What pizza do you go for?
What's your favorite topping?
Speaker 18 (01:31:43):
You can go, you can't go wrong. I usually go
pepper and onion.
Speaker 1 (01:31:47):
Yep, yeah, that would be one of my favorites. You know,
I've always been and I don't know, you may call
me crazy. I still like the Hawaiian pizza.
Speaker 18 (01:31:57):
They got that too, It's amazing.
Speaker 1 (01:31:59):
Yeah, I just like it. Maybe because I got a
sweet tooth. All right, David, who do you like it
Tonight's game?
Speaker 4 (01:32:06):
Oh?
Speaker 18 (01:32:06):
I wish there was a way both thieves could lose,
but I guess I gotta go for Philly.
Speaker 1 (01:32:11):
All right, I'll second that too. I'm rooting for Philly.
My wife's rooting for the Chiefs tonight. I thank you
for your phone call, Steve. I'll love me squeezing one
more call before the end of the show. We'll do that.
We'll go to Middleborough next and we'll talk with Susan. Susan,
welcome the Wicked Bites.
Speaker 23 (01:32:25):
Hi, Good morning, squad.
Speaker 1 (01:32:27):
How are you excellent? Susan?
Speaker 4 (01:32:29):
Good good. I'll be real quick.
Speaker 23 (01:32:30):
I'm just wanting to let you know I just recently
moved to Middleborough and I've been going to a place
called Harry's.
Speaker 4 (01:32:36):
And they really have great food.
Speaker 18 (01:32:37):
That pizza.
Speaker 4 (01:32:38):
I always get that pizza there.
Speaker 23 (01:32:39):
Me and my sister go out to dinner a lot there.
Speaker 4 (01:32:41):
Love it.
Speaker 23 (01:32:42):
I love it there.
Speaker 4 (01:32:42):
It's great, great food. I always get a pizza in
a salad.
Speaker 1 (01:32:45):
All right. Are they located in Middleborough as well?
Speaker 4 (01:32:49):
Yes, Harry's.
Speaker 23 (01:32:51):
Yep, Harry's Bar and Grill right there on. I think
it's twenty eight there.
Speaker 1 (01:32:55):
Okay, it's food there. Is it a large place? I
I'm trying to picture right now.
Speaker 23 (01:33:02):
It's not a large place. But they do have outdoor
seatings for the for the summer, for the good weather,
and that kind of extends extends it a little bit.
They have really big patio outside. But I have to
they have great, great food, they have great wings. I
know somebody called up a couple of weeks ago mentioned
the Casadias. I tried one not too long ago. The
Casadias were really great pizza. Like I said, my sister
(01:33:24):
and I go out to dinner there a lot, and
we always get a pizza and a sal and you
hit it and its delicious, really good food, all right.
I also just wanted to mention I grew up in
Weymouth and I know a gentleman mentioned Denley's that too,
was a great place to right.
Speaker 1 (01:33:36):
I got a question for you about Harry's Bar and
Grill again. They're located at four oh seven West Grove
Street in Middleborough. I'm just looking up there. Their their
their website page and I went when I went to
the contact page, and you may know better. There's also
a logo for Dave's Diner. Do they also run Dave's Diner,
(01:33:57):
because that is a great diner.
Speaker 23 (01:33:58):
I think it's the thing. Yeah, I think it's the
same owner. Okay, yeah, I do believe it's the same
owner who owns Stave Steiner is also the owner for.
Speaker 4 (01:34:05):
Harris as well.
Speaker 1 (01:34:06):
Got it? All right? Thank you very much?
Speaker 4 (01:34:09):
Recommend it?
Speaker 1 (01:34:10):
Who do you like it? Who do you like in
the game tonight?
Speaker 5 (01:34:13):
I'll go with Philly, Philly?
Speaker 1 (01:34:14):
All right, me too, Thanks Susan for your phone call.
And I think the radio audience is really like in
Philly in tonight's game. We'll see, we'll see. Just it's
hard to, you know, get away, like from Patrick Mahomes's
ability to keep that ball. They don't seem to score
a lot the Chiefs. I mean, I think they had
some numbers very similar to the Patriots, but yet they
(01:34:36):
kept winning and whether they went fifteen to one during
the regular season. It was sort of amazing when you
would see the football team. But I remember those years
with the Patriots when we would get off to like
slow starts, and we'd just get better and better and better.
And that team that you thought wouldn't even win, you know,
eight games, it turns out to win a super Bowl,
so he does have that ability. And I'm sure the
(01:34:59):
game is going to be inner retaining tonight. And let's
see how the commercials are gonna be. They there was
like eight eight companies that spent like, I don't know,
ten million dollars a commercial something stupid numbers for the commercials.
But a lot of pizzas are going to be consumed tonight,
a lot of wings will be consumed tonight, because that's
what happens on this big day every single year. It
(01:35:22):
should be a holiday, right because everybody's watching television, everybody
is getting together with friends and family, and that's what
this day is all about. All right, that's gonna do
it for our phone calls. I got a winner of
this hour. I'm gon announce that's one hundred dollars gift
card to Alba. Yeah, announce that just a second. But first,
let me just quickly tell you about Lucia Restaurante at
five dash thirteen Mount Vernon Street in Winchester. It's own,
(01:35:44):
it's operated by the Fradioy family. You'll find Felipo and
Anna there. You'll find their son Philip there as well,
saay to Philip. Philip's don some you know, rather remarkable
things with the restaurant itself. He decided that it would
be a good idea and he gotta get his dad
to go along with it. I'm glad his dad did.
(01:36:06):
And they brought in a gelato machine and they make gelatto.
It's actually in the restaurant, so when you walk into
your seats, you're gonna see this machine that's constantly spinning
the gelato. And for dessert. I had dinner with a
Flipo about a month ago and Felipe says, you gotta
try it. I said, I didn't know you were doing gelatto,
(01:36:27):
and I'm tiny of the gelato's excellent. He goes, there's
this one dessert and I forgot the name of it, folks,
so you'll have to find out on their menu. Basically,
get a scoop of gelato and a shot of espresso,
and you take the espresso and you pour it just
a little bit on top of the gelato, just a
little bit right, and it gives it that creamy, almost
(01:36:51):
like a rich whipped cream taste to it, and it's
so incredibly good. You'll find out. Luccia restaurant at five
Dash thirteen Mount Vernon Street in Winchester. Great Italian food there.
They have a sixty ounced Bilt shop that served on
the bone. That's a head turner. That's just excellent. There
parking out front, there's a meter parking spots and there's
(01:37:12):
two municipal parking lots just like steps away the Cheer
restaurant day five Dash thirteen Mount Vernon Street in Winchester. Well,
that's gonna do it for today's program. I got our
winner or the one one hundred dollars gift card to
Alba Restaurants is one in Quinsey that you go to.
They got a couple of other ones as well. There's
also one in Hanover. Sue of South Wayman So, Sue, congratulations.
(01:37:34):
I know you're gonna love Alba. It's one of my
favorite restaurants. They had a Leo forrest when you go
in there. I just enjoy some great food there. All right,
enjoy the game tonight. We'll see you next Sunday at
ten a m. Everybody, keep smiling, enjoy this beautiful snow
we have on the crown. Right bye bye shit that
keep bunny
