Delve: Spirit+Truth

In episode 21, Jenny talked with Melanie Reinke about her son being healed from Rheumatoid Arthritis following forgiveness. Today, Jenny talks with her son Asa. They delve into how changing the way we think and what we believe about God and ourselves can lead to physical, mental and spiritual healing. 

The bible says that we are body, mind and spirit. Jenny talks with guest Melanie Reinke about how closely the three parts are connected and how one affects the other. Melanie's son was healed physically from Rheumatoid Arthritis after receiving healing in his mind and spirit. If you or someone you know suffers with a chronic illness, healing may need to come first through the spirit and mind before reaching the body. 

Romans 8:34 says Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God interceding for us. As Christians, we too are called to be intercessors. Casey and Jenny delve into what intercessory prayer is and how it is effective at breaking down strongholds of the enemy. 

Casey and Jenny continue their discussion about what hinders us from growing spiritually. 

Jesus says he died to give us abundant life, so why do we sometimes feel stuck? Do you long to be set free from cycles of sin and turmoil? Casey and Jenny discuss things that hinder our spiritual growth and maturity. 

There's a wide variety of ways that people around the world worship God. Unfortunately, we tend to think our way is the correct way. We can judge others if we think they are too emotional or not emotional enough. Casey and Jenny talk about the danger of judging others on their emotional response, or lack thereof, to God. 

God speaks to people in many different ways. He uses words, feelings, dreams, visions, scripture and more to convey His love, heart, plans and instructions. Casey and Jenny delve into each one of these and describe what they look like and how people have experienced them. 

What is prophesy? What is the purpose of a prophet? Do prophets still exist today? Casey and Jenny answer these questions and expound on what prophesy is in the Old Testament and in the New Testament. 

Orthodoxy, heresy and blasphemy are words used in Christianity, but what do they really mean? Casey and Jenny explain how these words are sometimes used incorrectly and how misuse can be dangerous.  

If you've been in church long enough, chances are you've experience "church hurt." Casey and Jenny talk about how to deal with that and the different kinds of trauma we face in life. 

In Jesus' day, the religious authorities were the Pharisees and the Sadducees. They were self-righteous and legalistic. That same spiritual mindset exists in today's church. Casey and Jenny talk about how to tell if you're just following religious rules or if you're seeking the heart of Jesus. 

Casey and Jenny continue talking about connection in relationships and what part forgiveness plays. 

Most of us can name at least one person that is difficult to be around. However, understanding relational and communication styles can go a long way in helping us have healthy interactions. Casey and Jenny discuss those styles as well as boundaries and how to deal with toxic people. 

Do you think your unworthy, not valued, misunderstood, alone or not enough? That's shame, and it's a tool of the enemy to isolate you from God and people. It's also an unhealthy coping mechanism developed for self protection. Casey and Jenny explain what shame is and how to break free from it. 

Do you feel like you don't belong or like there is something wrong with you? Do you feel as though you have to perform well to be loved, valued and accepted? Do you feel as though you can never find peace or rest? If so, you may have an orphan spirit. Casey and Jenny tell us that an orphan spirit is rooted in a deep belief that you are not truly a son or daughter of God. The good news is that it can be displaced. 

What is demon-possession? Can Christians be demon-possessed? Casey and Jenny continue their teaching on Spiritual Warfare. 

A large portion of Jesus' ministry involved deliverance, releasing people bound up by afflictions and demons. Is deliverance still needed today? Do Christians need deliverance?  If so, deliverance from what? How is deliverance a part of spiritual warfare?
