Speaker 1 (00:00):
Could we say that this week is Easter week? Would
you say that this is Easter week? It seems like
all HG hockey sticks is breaking loose around here, a
bunch of stuff going on. But you know, every time
I think about, you know, all the stuff that's happening
in Memphis, I talk to my family members and they
talk about all the drama happening where they are dramas everywhere.
(00:24):
It's almost like you can't escape it. The thing is,
what do you do with the drama? What do you do? Listen?
Today's tax day. For those of you that this applies to,
I think for most people in our area, the tax
date has been extended. I think it's especially for businesses.
(00:48):
But most of us have gotten our taxes, and most
of us have spent a little bit of money that
we got. Yeah, you know, you know you know that
what they say it, yeah, gon to go in and
come out? How does it comes in and goes right
back out? But yeah, so maybe that's what's happening where
(01:08):
you are. As far as you know, taxes aren't concerned.
You better get yours done. But uh, for some people
around here, because of the flooding and all of that,
you know they don't have to worry about that. That's okay.
Good news, good news. It looks like pre K is
gonna be free for the kiddos. And I'm wondering if
(01:28):
this is Shelby County or if it's Memphis. Did y'all
hear about that story? Yeah, pre K talk about because
these kids need it. I think the sooner we get
our children in school learning something positive and productive, it's
gonna help them out a lot. The sooner we get
(01:49):
these kids, you know what I'm saying, Because you really,
when it comes to our kids, you got to catch
them when they're young. Catch them when they're young, because
I'm telling you, when they get a little older, they'd
be different. They're different. They're not like us. I mean,
I hate to say. It's so cliche ish right now,
(02:10):
isn't it. They're not like us. It's kind of a cliche.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Now.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
I know it's a song and all that, but you know, seriously, yeah,
and I think if we I think it's a good thing.
So that's what the city council did. They passed an
ordinance that kids get to go to pre K for free.
Uh So, one hundred percent of Shelby County kids. Okay,
I think it's I think it's good. You guys can
tell me what you think about it. But again, I
(02:35):
think education is one of the keys that's going to
help our children. Education and what happens in the house,
I think you can better prepare them when you're good,
you know, a good parent in the house and they
and they're also getting a good education. And I hate
to say, I mean, that wasn't so much the case
(02:57):
for young Carmelo Anthet. I heard stand talking about him
this morning, and I saw where the judge in his
case actually reduced young Carmelo Anthony's bond. Do you remember
we talked about him last week. Yeah, Carmelo Anthony, the
young kid that stabbed young Archie and killed him. And
so it was an interesting situation. Learned so much. I've
(03:19):
been hearing so much about that from people that live
out there and from people, I mean just reading the
stories about it. And family got about what is it
four hundred thousand dollars. The judge asks them what they
were going to do with the money. They planned to
use some of it to move, but they did get
him out of jail. Yeah, a team that's charging that
(03:39):
fatal stabbing at the high school track meet Carmelo Anthony.
Bond reduced from one million to two hundred and fifty
thousand dollars. Now, for some reason, this story right here
is dividing America again. Okay, there's always a story that
divides us, and this is it. And this was making
national national news. We've got people everywhere talking about this one,
(04:02):
and I just wonder if they would be talking about
it as much. And I know somebody's saying here they've
had somebody's about saying to them, saying, oh here she go. Yeah,
I'm going if it wasn't a black kid that killed
a white kid, I'm just saying. I'm just saying. There
(04:23):
are a lot of killings that are going on right now,
unfortunately that have happened not in our city, but this
one we're talking about everywhere. This one hadn't even happened,
and this was in Texas, but it's become one of
those stories that everybody seemingly knows about. That teen accused
of fatally stabbing seventeen year old Austin medcafin Frisco, Texas.
(04:46):
And word is the two did know each other. Uh.
And now this is allegedly words. You know, folks in
that area saying that those boys were bullies. I don't
know if that was the ca case or not. And
I've heard a discussion about the tint that he was under,
and I did talk to somebody that's in Texas that
(05:07):
said those tents are for anybody. So them trying to
remove him, they weren't supposed to try to remove anybody,
because anybody could sit under those tents. All of the
tents that they put up, they put up for all
the kids, not just this school or that school. Anybody
can sit under any tent, is you know what I'm
told from folks that live out there in Texas. At
(05:29):
any rate, Anthony's attorney, Mike Howard, argued that the original
amount was excessive, telling the judge give this young man
a chance to get out of jail and be with
his family. And so Judge Angela Tucker agreed to lower
the bond, but order that if Anthony is released, he
must wear an ankle monitor and remain on house arrest.
(05:52):
That fundraiser fo one hundred eighteen thousand dollars, A lot
of people trying to help this young man, a lot
of people, and you know the reason why I said that.
You know, you get a good chance, I think with
your kids with the education. And I applaud the city
council for trying to make pre K available to all
(06:15):
the children in Shelby County. I applaud them for that
because you know our you know, our kids need structured
environments where they can learn and an idle mind. Y'all
have heard it, y'all have said it is the devil's
works up. Y'all have said it. And having good parenting
(06:36):
is definitely a plus as well. And this young man
had both get from from what I'm seeing, good parenting.
He also, I mean he had a what was it
a four point something like that GPA and yet never
been in trouble, has two jobs. And I'm talking about
(06:58):
the young man that died. I'm talking about the young
man that is that that went to jail for killing
that young man Carmelo Anthony. And you can argue all day.
You know he shouldn't have gone, and and and and
and and you know the charge is incorrect. You can
argue it all day. But at something, he's gonna be
charged with something, and he should be. You don't just
(07:23):
we we I don't know if if my generation we
we we did that whole participation trophy thing. We gave
everybody you know, oh you're a shining star. Even if
you lost, you win, you know what I'm saying. But
that's not really how life really is. I think sometimes
we made it. We made it seem like you know
that that you know, everywhere they go in life, they're
(07:45):
gonna there's gonna be this uh, you know, prize that
they're gonna win. I think we set these kids up
for failure, made these kids entitled to some degree. That's
my opinion. Now you may have a different one, but
I'm just saying, you know, so unfortunately, a lot of
young people feel very entitled.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
The do.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
But they're not the only ones. They're not the only ones.
There's a lot of us that feel entitled as well.
Was the judge wrong? Y'all tell me you think the
judge was wrong for lowering this young man's bond to
two hundred and fifty thousand dollars. I don't think the
judge was wrong. I will tell you that. I don't
(08:31):
think the judge was wrong. I think and especially with
the conditions him being on house arrest, he's got to
wear an ankle monitor. I think that it was a
good call considering the fact. Now, if he was somebody
that had you know, charges and all that kind of stuff,
(08:51):
you know, be different. But you're talking about the first
time this child has ever been in real trouble, and
you know, and it's just a terrible situation. And I
know people are saying that the kids didn't know each other,
but I've seen pictures out there where they did know
each other, where they actually hung out with each other,
(09:14):
and you know, talk to some people out in that
area that have you know, shared some things as well,
and I just it's still a heartbreaking story. There's no
way around it. If you can't feel some type of
way about this. I mean, I feel bad for both,
you know, the family that you got to bury your
child and then this young man and looking at his
(09:39):
mugshot and seeing the sadness in his eyes, it's his heartbreaking.
It's a heartbreaking story, very heartbreaking. Yeah, I'll tell you
some of you got warrants though you better be careful. Y'all.
See the story where the guy got shot in the
head and his brother took him to the hospit And
(10:01):
I think y'all tell me if I'm wrong, But is it?
Speaker 4 (10:03):
Is? It?
Speaker 1 (10:04):
Is it? When you go to the hospital with a
gunshot wound, they've got to report it, right, because I
think the police showed up and they, you know, questioned
him and all of that. And this man got shot
in the head. You might be able to get grazed
and not have to go to the hospital. When you
(10:24):
get shot in the head, you got to go to
the hospital. You got to go. Brother took him to
the hospital. Brother dropped him off. Why did he do it?
I don't know why he dropped him off and leave him.
I don't know about y'all, but I'm I'm leary about
leaving my folk at the hospital. I'm going in with you.
I got to see what's going on. I'm not gonna
leave you. I'm gonna stay with you. I'm gonna make
(10:46):
sure you all right. You know what I'm saying. Once
you all right, then I'll leave. But the brother left
and police came down there and ended up taking him
to jail, the one that was shot in the head,
because he had warrants. You cannot be doing yeah, in
these streets, in these streets, we had to do our
(11:09):
best and not maybe maybe maybe I should just put
that call on myself. I'm not you know, and not
everybody else. I'm gonna do my best to do what
I can. Okay, So y'all tell me tell me this,
tell me if i'm if I'm wrong. A. So, my
doctor's office call me today. I got an appointment. It's
(11:30):
months away to go see my doctor.
Speaker 5 (11:35):
Right.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
So the young lady that called, she called me to
tell me about my doctor's appointment. Right, And so I
say okay, because because they called me yesterday while I
was on this show as a matter of fact to
tell me. So I thought, okay, everything's cool. They changed
my appointment from one day to another. Well, then I
got another call today and I said, let me answer
(11:57):
the phone. You know when your doctor's office call. Oh,
you know, you answer the phone because I'm like, okay,
let me make day. Let me make sure everything is good.
So all they were doing was, you know, moving an appointment.
So young girl answers the phone. I mean she she
called young girl. I could tell she's probably in her twenties.
I would I would say twenties, I wouldn't say thirties.
(12:17):
But I answered the phone, and I said She told
me what was going on? You know, uh, your appointment
needs to be changed. I said, okay, okay, I said,
that's that's okay. I said, that's okay. Got's a look
at the date to make sure I was gonna be
in town. And maybe I was doing a lot and
maybe I don't know. I don't know what's going on
with this young lady. So I I, I you know,
(12:41):
told her. I said, now, y'all not gonna call me again,
are you? Because I said, y'all call me yesterday and
moved the appointment already. I said, then you'll call it.
You're calling me again today? That girl hung up on me.
She hung up, She hung up up, She hung up.
(13:04):
She worked at my doctor's office. So I called back.
I'm like, you know, I said, I was just talking
to you on the phone. You realize you you know,
you hung up on me. She says, well, you know
these phones they drop like that sometimes. And I said, okay, okay, okay.
She says, but are you okay with your appointment being moved?
(13:26):
I said, okay, So y'all, y'all tell me and you
can say I'm wrong if you want to. She said,
are you okay? With your appointment being moved. And I said,
I'm okay with my appointment being moved. I'm not okay
with you hanging up on me. So I'm thinking she's
(13:49):
gonna say, you know what, I am so sorry. It
was an a you know, a something. You know what
I'm saying, say something that girl. You know what she did?
She hung up all again. So I called, you know,
somebody that I know at the doctor's office and I said,
I said, you know, this happened to me. And and
(14:14):
so they told me, They said, well, you've been escalated
if you want to, and I said, you know what,
I'm not gonna do nothing. I've made up in my mind. First,
I'm gonna I'm gonna calm I'm gonna calm down because
I thought about it. I now, this is just me
and this is not always. But in this situation, I
felt like today, it's a lot going on in the world,
(14:39):
and maybe something is going on with this young lady
that I have no idea about. Now, was she right
for hanging up on me, not once but twice? Nope,
But I'm gonna give a grace. I'm gonna give her
grace because it seems like we live in a time
(14:59):
where everybody's upset. Now, everybody's upset, everybody's mad. I saw
a video you guys on social media. A guy's at
a park in Memphis. Y'all seen this video. And I
don't know if it's got some cussing in it or whatever.
So I would play it for you, but I think
it's got a lot of cussing in it, and I
don't want to get be forcibly removed from my job
(15:21):
for playing it. But they're at a park. So this guy,
he's at the park with his dog, right, he's and
he just happens to be videotaping, right, There were some
and then these were Caucasian folks this time, you know
what I'm saying. They were in the park and there's
one guy and it was on it was on wr
(15:42):
EG on their Instagram page. Y'all you've probably seen it.
Caucasian guy, he'd so. So dude's got a camera, he's
he's already videotaping and then the argument jumps off and
he moves the camera from down to up to see
what's what's happening in front of him. In front of
him is a white guy with a gun going off
(16:10):
on a couple at the park. At one point he
point at one you know point in the video. He
points the gun at the mail tells him what he's
what he'll do, and he's yelling and screaming and yelling
and screaming, and then he, you know, goes to his car.
He didn't do anything. He goes to the car or truck.
(16:34):
And when I saw that, I thought, Lord, how do
we've Mayor Paul Young said something in his interview when
he was talking to Fox thirteen. We have got to
learn how to deescalate situations, I'm gonna tell you, and
that's how I feel. That's that's seeing that video last night,
(16:57):
I said, you know, I'm giving that girl some grace.
I don't know what's going on with her, but I
will not be the one or the reason that she
loses her job. I'm not doing that. Matter of fact,
I started to call her back and say, you know what,
I'm sorry. I don't know why you did that, but
let me apologize to you. I didn't call her back.
(17:20):
I let it go because I was still mad. You
have been hung up on you have had somebody to
hang up on you twice, you know, from a place
that you do business, a place that gets your money.
You get my money in this place. But I'm gonna
(17:45):
give her grace. It's too much going on. That guy
had that gun at pointed at them folks at that
park in Memphis.
Speaker 6 (17:53):
Y'all.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Why is everybody so angry? Everybody? Everybody's angry? Everybody. Let
me go to the phone lines nine o one five
three five, nine three four two eight hundred five zero
three nine three four two eight three three five three
(18:19):
five nine three four two and your emails. I'm gonna
go get those as well. Stormy t at my w
DI I a dot com and I'll try to get
to that talk back feature. I don't always get to it,
but i'll try to get to that today. But let
me get to the phones. W D I A Hello, Stormy.
Speaker 7 (18:34):
I'm gonna be honest with you.
Speaker 8 (18:35):
I was in a situation similar to what.
Speaker 7 (18:37):
You're talking about, m M.
Speaker 5 (18:39):
And when I when I called the head office and
told them I didn't want the young lady five, but
I just wanted to complaint this what happened to me,
and they did some of the bad Stormy.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Wait a minute, I'm curious now, what did they do
about the situation is.
Speaker 5 (18:54):
That alright, thorm first hands on the bank, right, I
got money at the that I went up in that
jumping glasses on, right, saved, and the young lady said, well, sir,
you're gonna have to take your saves out. I didn't
have no problem with that.
Speaker 9 (19:12):
I took him off.
Speaker 5 (19:14):
I took him off, and then I put them back on.
I looked at the camera and everything. She said, You're
gonna have to keep them off.
Speaker 8 (19:24):
I couldn't understand, you know.
Speaker 5 (19:26):
And then she was talking lasted like, uh, you know,
I'm not going to see guntil you take your glasses
off and all that kind of stuff.
Speaker 10 (19:34):
Here is, I got.
Speaker 5 (19:35):
Dres one thousand dollars up in this junt and you
gonna do that? I said, I don't take my money
out and go somewhere else. And then when I went
over to the desk, the other young lady talking about, well,
if you don't take your glasses out, I'm not going
to see him.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
What.
Speaker 11 (19:50):
Yeah, So I went to the maine out the storm,
and I'm curious can they do that?
Speaker 1 (19:56):
I mean, because because what was it about on sunglasses?
Speaker 5 (20:00):
Throw them? You supposed take your change off? They can't
recognize them fate. But when you look at the cameras
that they got a bit look at you, you don't
have to keep them on off.
Speaker 7 (20:11):
And that's what they did.
Speaker 5 (20:13):
So I went to the home after throw them in
and talk to the people and they ain't know nothing
about the whole situation. And we didn't, you know, we
don't tell people blah blah blah. You know this black
people up. You know what I'm saying. And so it
was just phrasy and so on walking and so uh yeah,
that's right. I'm unforgetable. But anyway, like I say, uh
(20:34):
saw them and it's a trip. And when I went
to the home offer and talked to these people, these
people said that, uh, they don't have one rule like that.
But I went back to them and the young lady's
still there.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
I'm glad you didn't.
Speaker 5 (20:46):
Get fired because I told her I didn't want it
to get fired. But they were polite to them. They
were polite. I'm just saying, I.
Speaker 12 (20:56):
Know it's you what you do. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (20:58):
But I wouldn't have did it like that. We got
to stop bagging down from stuff storm. When it comes
to customer survey, I'm not the one to play with.
Speaker 7 (21:08):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (21:09):
You wanna respect me, I spend my money here, you're
gonna respect me. I'm not the one to play with.
I'm not your homie. I'm not going to have a
conversation with you are blah blah blah blah. No, none
of that, do my big no matter that. So you know,
I understand your situations doing well. If you can't stand
the heat, get out the kitchen. That's the way I
(21:30):
look at that situation now dealing with Anthony Storman, because
Connie Anthony wells now.
Speaker 7 (21:37):
Is I'm not an anthet.
Speaker 8 (21:41):
Don't give me wrong with Storman.
Speaker 5 (21:42):
You know why ain't have a knife? Nobody talk about that.
Speaker 12 (21:46):
Why ain't having knife?
Speaker 4 (21:49):
Well?
Speaker 1 (21:49):
Evidently for protection. Yeah, And I've heard some people from
that area say, if you, if you knew, then you
then you know why he had a knife. But I
don't know either, unforgetful. But he had one.
Speaker 5 (22:05):
In his day, and they have him some kind of meeting,
right and uh.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
No, it wasn't a meeting. They were just waiting. They
were just waiting for the event to start, right.
Speaker 13 (22:16):
But you got you gotta get it.
Speaker 11 (22:19):
I don't understand it.
Speaker 5 (22:20):
We have to start teaching. We have to start teaching
our young man. I have to deal with situation.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
Escalating, Yeah, de escalating the situation. Yeah, they don't. It
seems like they don't fight no more.
Speaker 6 (22:38):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (22:38):
I'm forgetful. I gotta let you go. I got you,
I got you, I got you. Thank you? Uh huh.
You show right. And I don't mean to cut you
off like that, but I had to let you go.
De escalating a situation. Many of us don't know how
to do it anymore. It's to me, it's like an
(22:59):
art that is has been lost. W D I A Hello,
I ain't Stormy.
Speaker 11 (23:06):
It's just married. That's how are you today?
Speaker 5 (23:07):
Hey?
Speaker 1 (23:07):
I'm good married, it's how.
Speaker 11 (23:08):
Are you fantastic? So listen, girl, I'm just gonna. I'm
just gonna, saund I'm proud of you because Stormy, I ain't.
Speaker 5 (23:15):
I ain't learned that yet.
Speaker 11 (23:17):
I'm sorry I have not. Now I am a person.
I'm gonna treat you with the utmost suspects. But Stormy,
if it comes time to check you, I have no
problem with doing that. And I mean in customer service.
I hate to agree with. I'm forgivable. But he is
absolutely right. Now that girl hung up in your face
twice and then you thought, am I calling her back?
People fire themselves and customer service these days, Swarman has
(23:40):
gotten out of control. And that is the you almost damn.
I mean, you don't need to spit on me, just
there hang over my face. They almost almost to see
them equals hand in hands you hang with in my faith,
that's the most rooted and disrespectful things. Anthony Stormy, I
hate this young man is in this situation.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
I really really do.
Speaker 11 (23:59):
I hate, but I got to still be on his
side from what I've heard so far. Now, my husband
we don't agree on this subject, but he felt like
the black kids should have just took the butt with me.
It's gonna be beat up. I say different. Why should
I take a boat room from two brothers when I
can defend myself. I mean sometimes in fending yourself don't
have to mean killing somebody. I get that, But I
mean again, when it comes to black one white thing,
(24:21):
I'm gonna have to leave it. Whereas at right now,
thank you for the judge who did that. Because the
white people get their bond lord for much much less
last comments.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
Stormy, and not only do they get their bonds, Lord,
but oftentimes they have the money and he didn't have
the money, and they raised the money. You know what
I'm saying.
Speaker 11 (24:38):
And and yes, ma'am exactly, And whereas that go fund me?
I want to picky in something just to say I participated. Okay,
thank you to Saint Jude. I received my shirt in
the mail storm it I became a pleasure offered your show.
So thank you for that last thing. Here we sitting
here worried about and people don't call in. They gonna
have a problem with this bomb being Lord, I guarantee
you thinking, oh my god, he's first agree, which kay,
(25:01):
it was a fight. It should never be charged with
personally murdered in the first place. The second thing is,
I mean the third thing. The last thing is when
you need that story today by a doctor and Steve's
here on this this morning. We have a doctor in
mister Tennessee, not only a woman he was he didn't
pin a damn jel Okay, he was able to reopen
his practice. Then said again, he's sexually assaulted women and
(25:23):
use dirty tools on people's body, and he's able to
open up a clinic.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
I will there is right now.
Speaker 11 (25:30):
We should they should have gave him by prayer charge
when they let a doctor out and open his practice again.
But anyway, so thank you for letting me in.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
Thank you, MERRETI appreciate your call. Yeah, that's oh that.
When I read that story, I said, I got I
gotta tell him, I gotta tell him about this because that.
And then I saw on social media some people, you know,
one person and I won't say her name, but I
saw one person talking about what happened to her mother
(25:58):
who is no longer here, same doctor, and he's allowed
to reopen and under conditions you can't use the same
thing you use on something. And who in the world,
oh my goodness, is going to make an appointment to
(26:19):
see this doctor, Oh my goodness. All right, I'm gonna
take your emails. I'm gonna read your emails rather and
I'm gonna, you know, get back to the calls in
a moment. But I gotta take a break and we're
gonna come back and we're gonna talk some more. Uh
al lady d let me see Clyde, Captain Prince Charles
(26:40):
ms Kosha, y'all hang on, we'll be back. We'll be
back in a moment. Three nine three four two eight
three three five three five ninety three four two. Those
are the numbers to get at me or Stormy Tea
at mywd i a dot com. Got a couple of
messages here from mister George. He says, hanging up on
me sends me straight to one million ms D. She
(27:00):
says she doesn't like leaving anybody at the hospital she's
seen a lot, including during her surgery. She said, the
receptionist at the doctor's office, my indocrinologist receptionist sounds like
your young lady. Help them with some training, and you
did right. I've been hung up on.
Speaker 2 (27:18):
Sad day.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
Well, I hope you didn't get up hung up one
today like I did. Let's see here, anytime a gunshot
victim comes to the hospital, they got to report that
to the police department immediately. With all that is going on,
you would think that they would implement conflict resolution in
these schools, and they should. African consultants, you write about it.
(27:40):
He also says you did the right thing, Stormy. You
gave that young sister a break. And then he says,
as the great h Rap Brown said, violence is American
as apple pie. Lord have mercy, and mister Burton says,
I feel your pain, Stormy. But if you want to
know what anger is, imagine trying to take a much
(28:01):
needed nap when someone named John with Middle Eastern accent
calls you trying to sell supplemental insurance. Oh, bless your heart.
Speaker 7 (28:11):
M m M.
Speaker 1 (28:13):
Got another message here from somebody that uh messaged me
on Instagram. Say you you hung up on unforgivable. I'm
counting his name is unforgetful and I did not hang
up on him. I pulled the mic down, I pulled
the you know, yeah, and then he hung up.
Speaker 2 (28:32):
First.
Speaker 1 (28:33):
All right, let me go back to the phone. See
what y'all talking about?
Speaker 7 (28:37):
W D I A hello, Hey Stormy, how are you?
Speaker 14 (28:40):
Hey?
Speaker 1 (28:41):
Ms Kosha, I'm doing good? How you doing? I'm good? Good.
Speaker 15 (28:45):
Look, I was gonna say, at least you were on
the phone. Your situation mm hmmmm hmm.
Speaker 7 (28:54):
Look Gavivian Dalla.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
Tree on Sunday. Mm hmmm.
Speaker 15 (28:57):
You know, I like I like to look clear, disposable
force and stuff. So I asked the young man did
they have anymore? He looked at me and didn't respond.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
Wait a minute and then what you do?
Speaker 5 (29:12):
I said, you really don't care, do you?
Speaker 15 (29:14):
He said no, what I'm like, what did you say?
Speaker 2 (29:18):
He said no?
Speaker 15 (29:20):
I said, oh really, but you know, I just went
on and left. It took everything in me not to
continue that conversation.
Speaker 1 (29:29):
You wait a minute, So how old was this young man?
Speaker 15 (29:33):
I would say late twenties. Wow, they twenties.
Speaker 11 (29:40):
You know.
Speaker 15 (29:41):
It took everything in me just to you know, don't
even don't even continue the conversation.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
He didn't even answer you, and he works there.
Speaker 15 (29:49):
At me, just looked at me.
Speaker 8 (29:52):
You know.
Speaker 15 (29:52):
It was nobody in the store anyway.
Speaker 9 (29:56):
I'm like, are you serious?
Speaker 1 (29:57):
Wow?
Speaker 15 (30:00):
But uh, you know, I will not go to that
one again. That's you know, I don't have to go there,
you know. And they're just so disrespectful, no, disrespectful. Did
not say a word other than you don't care.
Speaker 16 (30:18):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
It's unbelievable. It's unbelievable.
Speaker 7 (30:24):
It is, it really is.
Speaker 15 (30:25):
It's sad. But I bet he wants that paycheck that he.
Speaker 2 (30:30):
Didn't work for.
Speaker 6 (30:34):
All.
Speaker 15 (30:34):
Right, Storm, you have a good evening, a.
Speaker 1 (30:36):
Right, miss Kosher. I'm so sorry that happened to you
as well.
Speaker 15 (30:40):
Okay, baby, bye bye right bye.
Speaker 1 (30:42):
Bye mm mm hmm. Come on now, you need to
have some respect for your elders. W d I A hello,
I was apply was going on?
Speaker 8 (30:56):
You know, people like Forgetful. They on my nerves sometimes.
Speaker 17 (31:02):
Do you if they kill you that you can't have
your shades on in there? You take their shaves off
and leave Martha until you leave, don't take them all.
Then they look at the game you put them back on,
because that ain't.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
What they said.
Speaker 17 (31:17):
They said, you can't have your shaves on, so un Forgetful,
it was wrong for that.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
Well no, he said no, he said he didn't. He said,
you you can have him own you got. You can
take them off so they can see your face and
then you can put them back on.
Speaker 11 (31:30):
After they.
Speaker 17 (31:32):
He just said, they said when you take they want
you to have them all, so leave the mars until
you leave. But I forgive you know, he a hard
head that they can't anyway, and started mm hmmm.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
See the reasoning these.
Speaker 17 (31:46):
People get away with the way that lady, the young
lady hung up on you because y'all on complaints. See
they was my doctor, Walfer, you better be an uncle
complaining about that, because you ain't just say when she
done did like that and uncles. I was just not
gonna know about it until somebody complained about it. Well,
I won't be wonderful. I'm the ConA plane you hang
(32:08):
at man thing. I'm a'm let know because I spend money,
because I can swap back, because after if I want
to m h and then I'm uh uh and and
uh and.
Speaker 8 (32:18):
Dealing with maritor. I'm just like her.
Speaker 17 (32:22):
He was gonna say, these kids are scared to take
a whipping. You know how many times you don't got
the fight in my neighborhood and wants to fight over it.
Speaker 1 (32:34):
We still friends, Yeah, yeah, you know we didn't kill
each other.
Speaker 10 (32:39):
We didn't shoot each other.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
And the little was right, you.
Speaker 17 (32:42):
Kids scared to take more Me and somebody gonna move.
Speaker 8 (32:46):
And even even if you stay up, that man.
Speaker 17 (32:51):
Gonna kill that guy, he gonna he gonna die, and
you're going to do two years away. It goes the
same way somebody.
Speaker 9 (33:03):
I mean, I remember, I remember.
Speaker 17 (33:09):
I wouldn't stayed because I'm looking.
Speaker 1 (33:11):
I ain't try to.
Speaker 8 (33:12):
I ain't tried to.
Speaker 10 (33:13):
Kid when I want trying to put my a you're
gonna know you've.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
Been in a good fight.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
Mm hmm. All right, Clyde, thank you so much for
calling in. Yeah, I misspoke when I talked about talked
about that video because I saw it two places it was.
It was Action News Five's Instagram page, so w m
C t V and napologetically Memphis. A man's phone video
(33:43):
captures the moment a pet owner pulls a gun on
a couple at the Overton Bark Dog Park. This happened.
What's today and today today? After an alleged argument, Well, noll,
(34:05):
not not today. It must have happened yesterday, I mean
last Tuesday. That's been last Tuesday. The video has been
shared dozens of times on social media. Actually News five
talk with a man who shot the video to learn that.
You know, they're going into more detail to see what
people are so angry. They're just angry.
Speaker 6 (34:27):
W d I A hello, Yes they are, and they're
not gonna look stormy.
Speaker 5 (34:35):
The devil don't lacking when you list it.
Speaker 7 (34:39):
He tried to.
Speaker 16 (34:40):
Keep you in the house, But you tell the devil
get up one of my feet and go out the
dough with that. Oh my god, taking in and everywhere
every day twenty four hours.
Speaker 10 (34:55):
The storming.
Speaker 15 (34:58):
A young people, now not all.
Speaker 14 (35:01):
Of them because you know, old Lady D, I'll be
shamed young people in these restaurants.
Speaker 5 (35:07):
Now the managers, not all managers don't. I'll get Lady
D them.
Speaker 14 (35:13):
You complain about them, them and the manager and the
bad they manage them, allowed them to do anything they want.
Speaker 18 (35:23):
And another reason I really don't do restaurants.
Speaker 9 (35:28):
Oh why you got your hair all.
Speaker 14 (35:32):
The way down to your knees and you got on nails.
Speaker 18 (35:36):
And what that you I'm glad, Oh.
Speaker 8 (35:42):
My goodness, and then you had.
Speaker 7 (35:44):
Me my food.
Speaker 10 (35:45):
That's why I don't do restaurants.
Speaker 5 (35:47):
You heard Lady D saying there young people.
Speaker 1 (35:50):
But Lady D, Lady D, now that is the style.
The hair down. You're back like that, them girls with
them braids with I'm.
Speaker 9 (35:57):
Not I'm not disagreed, but I don't mean no harm.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
But you know that it ain't black or white with me.
Speaker 18 (36:07):
But go U More or any of those collages or
any of the restaurant.
Speaker 11 (36:14):
You don't have to put up.
Speaker 9 (36:15):
Your long half swinging everywhere.
Speaker 2 (36:17):
You know what?
Speaker 11 (36:18):
Not that I think you're right.
Speaker 1 (36:19):
If you in a restaurant serving people, I think your
hair should be put up to sort of tea. Guess
what what if my own food.
Speaker 9 (36:30):
I had wrapped my hair because you if.
Speaker 18 (36:33):
You've got long hair and your hair live, I.
Speaker 14 (36:37):
Don't even want no hair in my own food, right,
What you saving foods that fuck your hair? In the
young people again, if you hanging.
Speaker 18 (36:51):
Out with your daughter, if you allowing your.
Speaker 9 (36:54):
Daughter or your son to bring.
Speaker 18 (36:57):
And do every and anything that house the young people
crying out for help, throw on me out.
Speaker 14 (37:05):
They're just talking about two of them. It takes all
of us, but some of us.
Speaker 7 (37:10):
They gonna say, well, you know that ain't my business.
Speaker 5 (37:13):
And that's another thing.
Speaker 1 (37:15):
Make it your business.
Speaker 11 (37:17):
If you see my.
Speaker 14 (37:18):
Child out there doing wrong, if I don't know about it,
I can't.
Speaker 11 (37:25):
Do anything about it. But soon as they shoot.
Speaker 18 (37:29):
Up a house, kill somebody, they they on the TV line.
Speaker 5 (37:35):
Way you're on TV.
Speaker 1 (37:37):
You know this boy was soon up later it's wrong.
Speaker 9 (37:41):
We're gonna come to the end, so we can do that.
Speaker 11 (37:45):
Give a child, they don't have to be your child.
Speaker 18 (37:48):
It can be then they say it, take a visite.
Speaker 1 (37:51):
It could be a child that's.
Speaker 15 (37:52):
Belonged to the village.
Speaker 14 (37:54):
And one thing I agree with wholehearty is easy. If
you ain't got a job to be saying several times
lady p staying what you're.
Speaker 5 (38:07):
Doing out after eleven o'clock, see.
Speaker 1 (38:10):
Put that back in place. And if you out.
Speaker 18 (38:13):
After eleven o'clock, your mama, your auntie, whoever.
Speaker 14 (38:19):
Your god is, if they can't control where you yet,
i'a staying right next to your song of your daughter.
Speaker 1 (38:28):
Says yeah, cause excuse you can't you for weeks? But
you know what lady did. And I appreciate you saying that.
You know because I heard you guys talking about it
this morning, and thank you for calling in. There might
need to be a curfew because this passed. That event
that happened this weekend that was the first event a
festival season, because festival season is upon us in Memphis.
(38:53):
I mean just hearing about this. First of all, I
wouldn't go to an event that I knew didn't have security,
and most people probably didn't know that that event didn't
have security. And then your security is drunk, and then
you try to get security. You you first you went
to the to MPD to get security for this event,
(39:15):
the foody festival thing where the kid was shot and
killed at at Tomley Park. Okay, you said it was
too expensive. Then you hired security one of them was drunk. Now,
the police did you a courtesy that came anyway and
posted up outside of the event. Okay, but you say
(39:37):
you tried to go back to get security from the
police and it was too late. Yeah, it was too late.
You probably went the day before. MPD don't work like that.
You gotta let them know, just like you let everybody
else know. You can't call them folk at the last minute,
try to get some security WD.
Speaker 9 (39:53):
I A hello, that's right, So you ain't never lied
anything at that point.
Speaker 1 (39:58):
I'm telling you you got You can't call them for
the last minute. Too much going on, Come on now.
Speaker 19 (40:05):
Because people don't know how to well, some people don't
know how to conduct business popular and I always said
the first of all, I wouldn't say that I can into.
Speaker 9 (40:13):
You your callers, into your nigas UH saw me. I
was listing to uh previous callers.
Speaker 19 (40:20):
He said, the kids are crying out. And I'm saying
to myself, the only thing I really need kids crying
out with weapons, shooting, killing, killing, when to crying out.
A lot of We're going to be realistic with ourselves.
Speaker 9 (40:35):
Some people just can't be saved. I don't care what
you do. Why how you doing? They can't be saved,
They don't want to be saved, some of them, some
of them.
Speaker 19 (40:43):
When we go to the grave, I'll go to the
graves in the early and don't smart who walk to
be saved. I truly believe that if they reach out
to us, we can reach back to them.
Speaker 2 (40:54):
That's for me.
Speaker 19 (40:54):
If they're throwing their lives away by going out here
robin stilling and killing, they're not crying out for help.
Ain't nobody ever cried out for help doing those types
of things. So bump that as the words about those
things say, bump that I'm all for those who want
to be saved can be said. We don't realize there's
going to be those going apart to the class. Those
(41:16):
are the ones who let go, that's important, and the
ones who do want.
Speaker 9 (41:20):
Of these things.
Speaker 7 (41:21):
Sure we do that.
Speaker 9 (41:23):
You spoke on customer service housels for me conting services
in the same mephis.
Speaker 19 (41:29):
In some restaurants I refuse to go to because I
have seen how they treat their customers and they want
you to come back or even ask for a kip. No,
I'm not giving you no tip because I had I
had real bad service with you, So now we can
We're gonna let that go back. And there's a lot
of new pass through the restaurants of life that they learn.
These young people will have no antiquette when it comes
(41:52):
to Curson the service. Think about it, the minic, the
team you are going to be who they work for.
I'll give you the comp and I leave you with this.
I that this a restaurant not too LOLd of those
other amount of facts. And the person at the register
was very very unprofessional. I'm not gonna say rude. So
(42:14):
I asked the manager that I speak to the manager
and not telling the manager what would happen.
Speaker 2 (42:18):
Did nothing.
Speaker 19 (42:20):
Came back the next day the same person at the register,
this time that individuals had their pants below their butt
and I think this is how you greet your customers
with your pants below your butts. Called the custom called
the manager, You said nothing about it. They looked at
me as if I was a villain and they were
the victims. Yeahs like that. We sometimes you just got
(42:45):
to just cut your losses and people in the book.
That's always for me thinking to allow me to speak.
Oh one last thing's going to leave you with this.
I'm sorry people were spending on the case about the
family and a young man down in Texas, and he
got the GOP funding page right, got all that money.
Speaker 17 (43:02):
Right.
Speaker 9 (43:02):
Uh huh Okay, Now let me ask you this there question.
I don't have an issue with you. And the reason
why I say that, no one really basically.
Speaker 19 (43:11):
Said anything when the when the President of the United.
Speaker 9 (43:13):
States, let the fifteen hundred people know think about it.
Speaker 1 (43:18):
I got your Prince Charles, thank you so much for
calling in.
Speaker 9 (43:22):
Thank you for allowing me to speak of a beautiful
bless to say from heal today.
Speaker 1 (43:25):
All right, you too, you too. Yeah, speaking of Carmelo Anthony,
I saw where not only okay, so he he's got
to wear an ankle monitor and he's on house or
under house arrest, but there were some other things that
he's got to do as well.
Speaker 20 (43:46):
He has to stay off social media as well, and
he cannot contact the victims family.
Speaker 1 (43:52):
Yeah, those are the other things. Yeah, all right, we're
gonna come back and we're gonna talk some more. You
guys not one five nine three four two eight hundred
five zero three nine three four two eight three three
five three five nine three four two Boots said big
Kahuna Jackson, Miss Lily, I'll be back to get you.
Speaker 20 (44:11):
Don't move, make a request, keep a shot at, or
make a comment. It's the talk back feature. I'll tell
you what. We got some beautiful weather out there today.
I will tell you that it is a beautiful day
and it is so got. Let me go back to
the phones to see what you guys are talking about.
But I see, uh, mister Page says, I said I
(44:32):
almost did. When he said he would go straight to
one million, I said almost did. He said it sounds
like you did.
Speaker 1 (44:36):
But I'm glad you didn't because we probably wouldn't be
listening to you right now. I know, man, I ooh,
you got to my call myself. I'm getting I'm getting better.
I'm getting better I used to do when I was young.
I would, I would, you know, get into a fight
with my siblings, or get into a fight at school,
get into an argument, and I'd be so mad. I'd
(44:58):
be crying. I'd be crying mad, just crying mad, just
crying mad, trying to get my point across cross because
I felt like nobody heard me. I was passive aggressive. Yeah,
but I'm trying to be better. You know what, I'm saying,
I know me, and I think if we all get
(45:19):
to know ourselves, we'll you know, you know, you'll, you'll
you kind of know your own limitations. But when you
figure it out, sometimes you already pass the point of
no return, you know what I'm saying, And I'm trying
not to get there. I don't want to get to
the point of no return, you know what I'm saying.
I want, I want to. I'm learning how to take
(45:40):
a breath, take a breath, and I know some people
can't do that because they they broke, busted and disgusted.
And it's terrible when you are broke, busted and w
(46:02):
D I A hello, Hello, a how you doing.
Speaker 7 (46:10):
Hello?
Speaker 13 (46:12):
It's mean, Yes, it's you, Yes, all right, just tell
me how you doing.
Speaker 1 (46:18):
I'm doing good, miss Lily. How you doing today?
Speaker 13 (46:21):
I'm great, I'm great. I'm calling to check on you.
Speaker 7 (46:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 16 (46:28):
But speaking of a.
Speaker 13 (46:30):
Young man that was killed downtown the other day, I
don't think no matter how many securities they would have
had there, if that guy wanted to hurt that little guy,
he was going to do it anyway. I think what
they should have had was security, scaring people when they
come into the event to make sure they had no weapons.
Speaker 1 (46:46):
Mm okay.
Speaker 6 (46:48):
And and.
Speaker 13 (46:51):
About the customer service, you know, people like this said,
their temples are so bad now. And it's not only
the young people I've dealt. I've seen older workers in
the store that have very very bad attitudes.
Speaker 16 (47:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (47:06):
And sometimes I would see a certain person that I
don't want them to wait on me. Miss. I would
get out and go to another line.
Speaker 7 (47:13):
Because I don't want that person to deal with that
person that time.
Speaker 13 (47:16):
And I know they have problems because we all do now,
like you said, for a short temper. And as far
as the little guy that's staffed the other guy, you know,
I have to understand that this little guy there was
other ways he could have aborded that. Like they said,
we have security, go and get somebody to help you.
Speaker 12 (47:33):
If you got a problem with somebody, stop.
Speaker 13 (47:35):
Trying to handle things on our own. They had security
of somebody there to help solve that problem without him.
Because look at all the problems he calls for his
family and the family that the little guy, all of
this is still there and nobody wins, as they say,
nobody wins.
Speaker 1 (47:51):
And you gotta make it a teachable moment. Make it
a teachable moment for your kids. I mean, haide, but
it has happened and there's nothing you can do about it.
Speaker 13 (47:59):
So yeah, teach them that, you know, just go get go,
get the police, go get the author to you if
something's going wrong with you and the other person. And
one last thing I want to say, Uh, if we
can just kind of stop using the word black and
kids and bad black, bad kids in one sentence, that
(48:23):
might help out kids and stop acting out too, because
they hear this over and over and over again and
eventually it gets in their head. Hey, well maybe I'm
supposed to be bad because I'm black, you know, and
I think that that's kind of problem too. Let's not
what you call label kids that color, right, So that's
what we need to do, is chuck and curse them
(48:45):
to be Hey, let's just say they're good kids. Yeah,
good kids instead of black and bad and the same sentence.
Speaker 1 (48:51):
I like that, miss Lily, that's good.
Speaker 13 (48:56):
Okay, And I'm gonna I'm not gonna be doing I'm
gonna cooking.
Speaker 1 (48:59):
But any the last time, old bless you.
Speaker 13 (49:03):
Anyway, it's so good to talk with your guess, And
I'm going to get off and list someone that's get on.
Speaker 1 (49:10):
Thank you so much. Miss Lily had a good day. Okay,
bye bye bye.
Speaker 20 (49:14):
Uh yeah.
Speaker 1 (49:15):
I think sometimes what we say about them, and definitely
what we say to them matters, you know what I'm saying,
And sometimes we don't, you know, some people don't think
about it. I had a friend almost lost a friend,
and I mean almost lost my friend because we were
talking on the phone one day and she kept calling
(49:37):
her children the N word and saying real ugly things
about them, and it bothered me because I've been knowing
her for years. I mean, we've been knowing each other
for almost thirty years and and and at the time,
(49:57):
it was maybe about twenty twenty years. And I've been
hearing this her talk about her kids like that for
so for a long time. And so one day we're
on the phone and she was talking about them kids
and call them all kind of names. And I said,
have you ever thought that maybe they act like that
(50:17):
because you call them names like that? And I probably misspoke,
And I tell you, she ain't talk to me for
a long time, but we talk now and she don't
talk about her kids like that no more. And I mean,
(50:38):
I maybe I misspoke.
Speaker 20 (50:40):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (50:41):
I just I just I just got it just broke
my heart, you know what I'm saying to hear her
say that about a kid so much, and I I said,
some maybe sometimes you got to be you know you
you really have to say some things in love. And
I didn't say it in an ugly way, but you know,
I don't know. Maybe there was a better way that
(51:01):
I could have prefaced it, but I just said it, man,
And she evidently it touched her in a way that,
you know, we never talked about it again. We don't
talk about it now. But that's my girl. Okay, that's
my girl. Okay, I got an email. This is Claudie says, Now,
the guy that killed a young man put up a
(51:22):
go fundme page that was to get him out of jail.
What are they talking about putting some money down on
a place to live? Is that what you said?
Speaker 7 (51:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (51:33):
Yeah, that's yeah, that's what the what the dad said. Now,
I don't know if he's using the GoFundMe money to
do that or not. At any rate, that's yeah. Ms Thomas,
Hey girl, she says, high Stormy. I'm glad that you
decided to let that situation go. People have such short
fuses that it's safer sometimes to just be offended than
(51:54):
to get a person straight comfort when necessary. My heart
breaks for Carmelo, Anthony, his family, and the metcalfs. Carmelo
didn't ask to be put in this situation. He was
forced into it because of other people's actions, and he
made a costly emotional decision to these people talking about fighting.
(52:15):
Why does a person have to fight someone who is
bothering them? How about just leave people alone. I hate
that Austin Metcalf died, but he had no business trying
to force that young man to move. Mm hmm.
Speaker 7 (52:32):
This is a man.
Speaker 1 (52:41):
Good morning, it ain't morning.
Speaker 4 (52:48):
It's more than in Tokyo. It's a mains world and
it would be nothing without money.
Speaker 1 (52:59):
Oh my god, star, I'm good. How you doing, Jackson, because.
Speaker 4 (53:05):
All my fans and all my constituents get out Tonoon.
I met one of my constituents at the baseball field
and I appreciated him him for coming out trying to
help the kids.
Speaker 1 (53:17):
We love the kids, don't will.
Speaker 4 (53:20):
Yes, I do a lot of volunteering, but you know
it goes up, you notice, but saw me. Let me
congratulate Lucy ok from she said some powerful things yesterday.
Speaker 1 (53:36):
Today.
Speaker 2 (53:36):
I heard her this morning, Yeah, this morning.
Speaker 4 (53:40):
Whoever it was, she said some powerful things. The mayor
is not who Hoodini. Uh, he's only been in office.
It's amount of and and and crime is up in
a lot of places, Las Vegas, but we still flocked there.
Speaker 8 (54:00):
It's it's up in l A. Everybody gets on the plane,
go to LA It's up everywhere.
Speaker 4 (54:08):
So so some complaining about Memphis. Crime is down. In Memphis,
crime is down. And uh the second point, I got
three points. You're talking about this, this curfew. I think
I think the curfew should should stop for everybody should
(54:31):
be one a m.
Speaker 2 (54:34):
Unless you're up everybody.
Speaker 1 (54:38):
Now see now see now, see what about the people
that's creeping you You can't creep, you know what I'm saying.
Some of them be creeping out logging the morning. You
know what I'm saying.
Speaker 9 (54:50):
You can creep.
Speaker 4 (54:51):
You can creep and do the same thing at noon
that you could do at midnight.
Speaker 1 (54:57):
You can't stop some folks. You can't stop them. They
that see, they got it. They're gonna drive to the house.
They got to drive home, and they're not gonna drive
on by one.
Speaker 17 (55:07):
But sometimes it's easy to creep.
Speaker 2 (55:09):
At noon there's more cars out.
Speaker 7 (55:13):
But let me say this to you women, to the
women that's saying just.
Speaker 17 (55:20):
Leave it, just leave it alone, you got a short fuse.
I'm you know you women should be saying that because
you remember that carry Underwood song.
Speaker 9 (55:32):
Caused my name into his let the seas.
Speaker 10 (55:38):
I took the Louis the Bullhead.
Speaker 1 (55:41):
Yeah, and I remember the one by Jasmine Sullivan. I
bust the windows out your car?
Speaker 6 (55:46):
Right that?
Speaker 17 (55:47):
Let me ask you women, something, does that make you
feel good when you mess up something?
Speaker 1 (55:52):
Man's yes, yes, yes?
Speaker 17 (55:55):
Why why can't why can't you women just leave alone?
He says, I don't want you no more.
Speaker 1 (56:01):
Now, I'm not saying it's right, Jackson. I'm not saying
it's right, but I'm.
Speaker 17 (56:05):
Just saying, just because the the ad CD, the fourth
letter is good, Just because the fourth letter is good,
and you could.
Speaker 7 (56:17):
Get a fourth letter somewhere else.
Speaker 11 (56:20):
She's let the guy go.
Speaker 7 (56:22):
Does that make you feel good when you do that?
Speaker 15 (56:24):
After?
Speaker 1 (56:25):
I can we can let him go, after we bust
the windows.
Speaker 7 (56:31):
I never understood that.
Speaker 1 (56:35):
No, to be honest, I've never understood it either. You're right,
it's it's not right. It's not right.
Speaker 7 (56:41):
But you got a whole lot of songs out there.
Speaker 9 (56:43):
Uh who did wait until you excel?
Speaker 1 (56:47):
Yeah, she's the one who burned it and the movie.
Yeah yeah, yeah, I don't know, Jackson. I'm gonna have
to let you go.
Speaker 4 (56:56):
But hey, I determined when.
Speaker 8 (57:03):
You let me go.
Speaker 1 (57:06):
Man, you got my man saying that to me.
Speaker 8 (57:09):
Now I told him correctly.
Speaker 1 (57:17):
All right, Jackson, have a good one. Okay, all right,
there you go, a dog old Jackson. Yeah, let me
let me just let me just it ain't right. It
ain't right.
Speaker 7 (57:32):
It is not right.
Speaker 1 (57:34):
Let me be clear. It's not right. Busting windows out
of the cars, keying cars, because that was the thing
back when I was young. Women was key in folks,
stars like graces. I was like, why they ken cars?
One time I got my car keid and the wrong call.
It was the wrong car. Okay, they keep the wrong
person call. You know what I'm saying. So it ain't right.
(58:00):
It is not right, but it does feel good. I've
been now, I've been young and dumb.
Speaker 5 (58:12):
I kid you not.
Speaker 1 (58:13):
I've been young and dumb. Most of us have. It
ain't right, and it ain't okay because I know Whitney
Houston's got a song. It's not right, but it's oh no,
mmmmm ain't right. And he's right about miss Lucie Oktron
because actually I was I was gonna, you know, read
her email today because I saw her email before she
(58:35):
called stand show and I was going to read it today.
But she did call this morning and share her thoughts
about the mayor. We got to give this man a chance.
He's only been in office. It's just April. Well, no,
so a year and a year, a year and four
four months. We gotta give gotta give him a chance.
Got to give Mayor Young Paul Young, our young mayor
(58:56):
Mayor Young a chance. Let me see who next. Hmmm,
all right, here we go.
Speaker 11 (59:05):
W d I a hello, stole me?
Speaker 19 (59:08):
How you doing?
Speaker 1 (59:09):
I'm doing good? Big CAHOUNA good evening?
Speaker 3 (59:13):
Let me try it again, good evening, store me?
Speaker 2 (59:15):
How you doing.
Speaker 16 (59:19):
You?
Speaker 9 (59:20):
Little Barton's good?
Speaker 17 (59:26):
Uh?
Speaker 9 (59:26):
In my act, I might do bertone?
Speaker 2 (59:29):
How about that?
Speaker 1 (59:29):
No, I will take it all right.
Speaker 3 (59:32):
Well, the reason I call. First of all, I'm getting
ready to leave out in the morning head to uh
Nashville for the album release party Boots the columns You've
got a new.
Speaker 8 (59:45):
Album coming out.
Speaker 3 (59:46):
Be careful, Oh yeah, absolutely, most definitely be careful. And
I'm thinking probably gonna have a good time doing the
party later on and all that good stuff. So for
all the people I tall, I want to let you
know whos is still up and kicking and making me sick.
Speaker 8 (01:00:06):
And the.
Speaker 3 (01:00:08):
Next thing is is that what happened to the young
man downtown down that's just a sad situation. A lot
of peoples try to blame the male, and the male
can only do so much about individuals. It basically starts
at home, and that's what we're lacking in this day
(01:00:29):
and age. The mothers and the fathers and are not
taking care of the kids properly like they're supposed to
and really real about to do what's right. So it
starts from the hight here my personal opinion. The next
point is is when it comes to mister Donald Trump,
a lot of people saying, just like you said by
(01:00:51):
Mayor Young which he does deserve a chance, But Donald
Trump do not deserve a chance due to the fact
that the chaotic behavior is continued. How can you imagine
story you've been living here in this country? You from
l Savador In fact, and you've been living here, even
if you were from France, uh uh Africa anyway, and
(01:01:14):
you going through your life working and the only thing
on your record was just basically a ticket, and then
you're dropping your child off at school and you get
swarm swarm by ice, loaded up on the plane, taken
to prison down in El Salvador without no right at all.
(01:01:39):
I mean, even when they asked the president yesterday, they
refusing to a lot this man back. Even the president
of a Sales Savador, they passing the buck between each other.
Speaker 1 (01:01:49):
Well, president of El Salvador said that he's not gonna
send that man back. He said he ain't doing well.
Speaker 3 (01:01:56):
He's kind of slad with that a little. They but
about Trump and my ain't sent him back here, do it.
That's no big issue. But it's just sad that this
is being allowed. Understand some people. He's also stated that
he wanted to ship some US A citizens down there.
Speaker 1 (01:02:15):
Some criminals. He said, criminals. Now, let's let's be clear.
He said criminals. And I'm not trying to take up
for him, but I you know.
Speaker 12 (01:02:22):
I am, I mean criminals.
Speaker 2 (01:02:24):
But you have to understand something.
Speaker 3 (01:02:26):
You don't get due process all he got to do
is to say, well, you're a criminal, and then he's
gonna ship you off to another.
Speaker 1 (01:02:33):
No, he said, the criminals that are already in jail,
that all repeat offenders. Those are the people he was talking.
That's what he said.
Speaker 7 (01:02:40):
Now, well, well I didn't hear all that, remember.
Speaker 1 (01:02:44):
We Well, anyway, go ahead, big and I'm sorry when
when it.
Speaker 3 (01:02:47):
Comes to mister Gncia, this man has not got due
process at all.
Speaker 7 (01:02:53):
And it's a sad state of affairs in this country.
Speaker 3 (01:02:56):
Donald Trump in three months created nothing but chaos, wrecking
the market, making prices go up, almost the losing of
shutting down all over the place. You're possibly going to
start a war before it is over. But this is
what the people voted for us. It makes no sense
to me. And I'm gonna go ahead and sign out.
(01:03:16):
And the place to be and sw so many tea
experience suck WD.
Speaker 1 (01:03:26):
Do that much, Thank you, big Goona Yale.
Speaker 14 (01:03:31):
Yeah, you know it.
Speaker 1 (01:03:33):
It does concern me to know that, and I guess
it depends on how the story is told. Because man,
when you hate to be swept up, you over wherever
you get shipped to, and you you don't know if
you're coming back to home or not, you know what
I'm saying. And then I saw where they were getting
(01:03:55):
ready to do the Social Security overhaul and some people
will have to go into the offices to prove you know,
who they are, and things like that. I saw that story.
I think it was yesterday, So it is interesting. And yeah,
some thing's going on. We don't want we don't want it. Okay,
(01:04:18):
let me take another call before I go to the
before I take it to this break, w D I
A hello, Hey, hey, coming man, what's going on with you?
Speaker 2 (01:04:33):
Everything's all right, everything's all right.
Speaker 12 (01:04:36):
I think you've done right when you spoke to your
friend about how.
Speaker 2 (01:04:39):
She would talk to a kid as a friend, you know, uh.
Speaker 12 (01:04:42):
And then you know, we have to be conscious about
how we talked to children because it's a lot of
truth in you live what you learn. So I was
being a man the same thing.
Speaker 8 (01:04:52):
The way you talk to.
Speaker 12 (01:04:53):
Your children, they gonna end up talking to other people
like that when they grow up, so you have to
be really be aware of that.
Speaker 2 (01:04:59):
So I think you've done the right thing. Let her
be mad, But y'all good?
Speaker 12 (01:05:02):
Right now, right.
Speaker 1 (01:05:04):
Down like both flat times?
Speaker 2 (01:05:05):
Yeah right right? Yeah, yeah, uh three things now be quick.
Speaker 12 (01:05:11):
We have a curfew, but I think, uh, you know,
parents at home not applying that curfew and you know,
not doing a lot of things they should be doing.
And then the police can't you know, catch everyone that's
out that don't supposed to be out past curfew. But
we actually have curfew for minors and you know some
of us uh also cloud means and fighting.
Speaker 2 (01:05:35):
They don't know how to fight.
Speaker 12 (01:05:37):
These these young people these days, they don't know nothing
about fighting. They think to shoot it's the first thing
to do, period.
Speaker 2 (01:05:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:05:44):
Yeah, and it's too much access to guns, you know, so.
Speaker 12 (01:05:47):
The thought of fighting don't even come into play.
Speaker 6 (01:05:49):
You know what what fight what?
Speaker 1 (01:05:51):
We don't know nothing about?
Speaker 2 (01:05:52):
No fight?
Speaker 8 (01:05:52):
What fight right right?
Speaker 13 (01:05:55):
You know?
Speaker 6 (01:05:56):
You know?
Speaker 12 (01:05:56):
And so and lastly, yesterday, I know the marriagor she
closed out, was saying that we have a lot of
kids that are doing a lot of kids that are
doing good opposed to bad. And that's true, very valid point.
But the focal point right now are the kids. That's
actual communities crimes.
Speaker 2 (01:06:13):
And not just kids. That's another thing.
Speaker 12 (01:06:15):
All these crimes are not just by children.
Speaker 2 (01:06:17):
Yep.
Speaker 12 (01:06:17):
A lot of these crans being committed by adults, you know.
But that's the focal point the criminal activity that's taking place,
and that's making people so uncomfortable here in this city.
And you know, you think about how crime affects the
city as a whole. Like I mentioned to stand this morning,
people don't want to bring their businesses here. People don't
(01:06:37):
want to go out and spend money. But hursty economy
as well, you see. So that's what we're focused on
and concentrating on, is the crame that's going on here
and making us uncomfortable living here in Mensice.
Speaker 2 (01:06:50):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, and.
Speaker 12 (01:06:52):
Shout out shout out to Cassandra and Lady p and
miss none of the miss miss Freddie, Miss Lily, all
of our of my mother figures and a good lady.
Speaker 2 (01:07:02):
For you had on the show.
Speaker 1 (01:07:03):
All right, coming man, thank you so much. Appreciate your calling. Okay,
all right, yeah, let me see here, Clyde says, Now,
when Jackson started lying, that's when what I hate. Crime
is not down in Memphis. I don't know what Jackson
talking about, but I think he was kissing up to
the mayor of Memphis and the police chief. Why you
(01:07:24):
gotta be kissing up that man? Got to be kissing up.
Come on now, Glad, Come on, glad, let's see African consultants.
Ain't gonna be no curfew. The system is working perfectly.
It just ain't working for black folks. It's working perfectly
for white folks. Sometimes I wonder why does Big Kahuna
(01:07:46):
dislike Donald Trump so much? Donald Trump is going to
Nashville this weekend to see Boosey Collins too. You uh
uh no, I ain't. I don't beleeve that. I don't
beleeve that. Leave it, okay, listen, I'm gonna take a
break and we're gonna come back and we're gonna talk
some more and we're gonna find out what's going on.
I'm gonna do our best, Honey, try not to get
(01:08:10):
swept up during this break too. So y'all stay where
you are. That classic TV throwback is gonna come up
next hour too. But what I don't understand I and
and and and don't y'all don't take a finish.
Speaker 4 (01:08:23):
To do.
Speaker 1 (01:08:27):
Some of you, some of y'all, some of y'all. You
know I love all of y'all. Mm hmmm, y'all, you
you let me say this nice this way.
Speaker 2 (01:08:40):
I know how.
Speaker 1 (01:08:42):
I'm confused. I get a little confused. So help me
out with this. How is it that you dislike preachers
so much but you love Donald Trump?
Speaker 14 (01:08:58):
I mean, I.
Speaker 1 (01:09:01):
Hey, DAGs, that's just a question, because hey, you know,
I respect the office of the you know, the presidency
and and but I mean I can respect both. But
that man amount they no prayer book? Maine, Loreeneus tell
(01:09:22):
us about one of our uh, one of the cousins
in the family. She said, uh, and and Helen go
down there and listen to that woman and cheats a
pound of her crap. How about they no prayer book?
Some some I mean, you know people yayyy tell you hey,
(01:09:46):
people politicians Unfortunately they lie to us and and they
don't matter sometimes if you what side down you know
what I'm saying, but you but but let me hush
and get myself in trouble. Somebody gonna be mad at me, Clyd,
(01:10:08):
don't be mad at me. It's just a question. I
respect you, I got love for you. Just you know,
it's just a question. I'll let me go back to
the phones. See what y'all talking about. Well, first off,
let me read some of these emails. I think I
got some emails here. I want to read those to
you as soon as I can find them. Where are
my emails? Lord, have mercy? Let me go to my phone.
(01:10:29):
Oh my goodness, they logged me out. I'm logged out.
Let's see. African consultant says, it's these politicians that's got
the country messed up. They moved all the jobs overseas
and gave Americans a credit card to spin spin spind.
So Americans are living on credit China and Japan holding
a lot of US debt. A rude awakening is around
(01:10:52):
the corner for the American public. Wait until them one
hundred and forty five percent tariffs hit? What cost a
dollar will now cost two dollars forty five cents?
Speaker 8 (01:11:03):
You know that?
Speaker 1 (01:11:03):
And that is another thing that confuses me too, because
a lot of people are taken up for China and
they don't understand how much we owe China and if
and if China, you know, I mean, come on, now,
do we want to be like them?
Speaker 6 (01:11:16):
Do we?
Speaker 16 (01:11:16):
I mean?
Speaker 15 (01:11:17):
I know?
Speaker 6 (01:11:17):
They?
Speaker 1 (01:11:17):
They they say you when you own TikTok, now do
you see a lot of China and how beautiful it
is and all that good stuff? But them folks are
scared over there anyway, uh Duke says high Stormy. The
family of Carmelo Anthony, they're being forced to move from
their home because of the constant death threats from white people.
They are planning to use some of the GoFundMe to relocate.
(01:11:40):
I'm sure Clyde has a problem with that, as he
does with anything black folks do.
Speaker 2 (01:11:45):
That's what he said.
Speaker 1 (01:11:48):
And then got another. Preachers, politicians, and police, the three p's,
uh uh, not all of them on either case. There's some.
I'm sure there's some good politicians. There's some good preachers,
and there's some good police officers. You know what I'm saying.
Some good people in this world, all of us, you know,
(01:12:12):
some of us ain't all of that either. M Let
me go to the phone. Let me see who's been
hanging on the longest here. Let's see here, WD I
A hello, Nay, good Evening's Stormy tea good evening, Nurse
bever Lee.
Speaker 6 (01:12:31):
Storm And you know what, when I'll hear Jackson and
the mail and other people say crime is down in Memphis,
it really gets next to me. It really makes me
feel some kind of way.
Speaker 7 (01:12:48):
I want to know, what's that definition?
Speaker 8 (01:12:50):
Of crime.
Speaker 6 (01:12:52):
Apparently their definition of crime is not the same as
some of us definition because I see crime as these carjacking,
all of these killing every day, sometimes more.
Speaker 5 (01:13:07):
Than one killing a day.
Speaker 6 (01:13:10):
I mean, it's so much stuff going on, and it's
not summertime yet, you know, well it's just breaking and
things are so out of order. You know, it's a
shame when you can't go out on a Sunday afternoon
and enjoy yourself. You know, you you you hesar a
now to go anywhere where there's a lot of crowds,
(01:13:32):
and especially.
Speaker 7 (01:13:33):
When you think it might be a lot of young people.
Speaker 6 (01:13:38):
And that incident in the dog park that that could
have turned tragic too, because here that the guy that
was being threatened he had a gun too.
Speaker 1 (01:13:48):
Wow, I didn't know that.
Speaker 6 (01:13:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (01:13:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 15 (01:13:51):
On the news this evening hed they interviewed him.
Speaker 6 (01:13:55):
He said he had a gun too, and he started
to pull his gun out, but he knew that there.
Speaker 5 (01:14:02):
Were other people and other children and children.
Speaker 15 (01:14:05):
Around and if he had pulled it out, he was
gonna shoot.
Speaker 1 (01:14:09):
It would have been a shootout.
Speaker 15 (01:14:11):
It would have been a shootout.
Speaker 10 (01:14:14):
Now you can't even go to a dog park.
Speaker 6 (01:14:17):
You know, and be and not be threatened and.
Speaker 21 (01:14:20):
Crime is down in Mephis.
Speaker 11 (01:14:24):
I don't see it. I don't see it.
Speaker 6 (01:14:26):
And I hate when out here anybody say that, because
that definition of crime, it's got to be something other
than killings and shootings and kajackings and and all this
other stuff that's going on.
Speaker 15 (01:14:39):
It's got to be something ELpH that they thinking about.
Speaker 1 (01:14:43):
So go ahead, now, I was just saying, it's got
to be. I've asked Jackson that before. It's got to be.
Speaker 11 (01:14:51):
Yeah, gotta be.
Speaker 1 (01:14:53):
And I am so glad that Harbor is standing up
to dog Trump.
Speaker 6 (01:14:58):
They can afford to h yeah, because they got Donald's
and contributors and everything else. I said now here it
is it's take a college to stand up to Donald Trump,
and our own electric Congress and judges and stuff are
afraid to stand up to them.
Speaker 1 (01:15:18):
But how long, how long?
Speaker 13 (01:15:21):
How at least they make them stand?
Speaker 6 (01:15:24):
Maybe that night start a movement.
Speaker 11 (01:15:26):
Maybe they started moving and one.
Speaker 6 (01:15:29):
Last thing stole them. When they show those guys being
deported and they're all bend over and they're sitting there
and they're all been is.
Speaker 11 (01:15:40):
There to high there?
Speaker 1 (01:15:41):
Is that to the high their identity? Or is that
a form of abuse. I think that's how they that's
how they do them in that country, at that prison.
It's I mean, I see you talking about the prison
and and was it is it seval door?
Speaker 15 (01:15:57):
Would they be taking them when?
Speaker 6 (01:15:59):
When when the marshall so whoever it is, is taking them,
they have them all been over you know, look like that.
Speaker 11 (01:16:07):
To me, that seemed like it could be a form
of abuse.
Speaker 6 (01:16:10):
Ball Is it to hide their identity?
Speaker 7 (01:16:12):
I'm just wondering that.
Speaker 1 (01:16:13):
I don't know, could ben, I don't know, I don't know,
I don't know. Would you call it call it abuse?
If if these are people who are killing, who've killed
people and done all the things that they're seeming they've
seemingly done. I mean, you know, would you would abuse?
Speaker 6 (01:16:31):
Yeah? Maybe abuse isn't the right word, but it just
it just looks kind.
Speaker 1 (01:16:35):
Of cruel for me. It just that prison in Al Salvador, Babay.
If you think that's cruel, that woo that prison, I
wouldn't want to be locked up.
Speaker 21 (01:16:47):
I know they such Trump played paid to El Salvador.
What is it sixty million or six sixty million, six
hundred million dollars to take these deportees.
Speaker 1 (01:16:57):
Yeah, and they might be taking some of the these
criminals out of America too. Thank you, nurse. I gotta run, Yeah,
I gotta run.
Speaker 12 (01:17:05):
I heard that.
Speaker 1 (01:17:05):
Yeah, thank you, bye bye.
Speaker 17 (01:17:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:17:08):
Hey. I don't know what's gonna happen, but y'all you
we we just don't know. WD I A hello, Hello,
Say how you doing, mister West. You're doing all right
on this good looking Tuesday.
Speaker 2 (01:17:20):
I'm doing all right, You're doing all right.
Speaker 1 (01:17:22):
I'm doing good, doing good.
Speaker 19 (01:17:25):
Well.
Speaker 7 (01:17:26):
I'm come to give a possible solution to all this crime.
You know, Uh, you talk to Bob oj about this
because way back for a year to go over to
the same thing. Every year, uh, this time of year
will be an uptick.
Speaker 1 (01:17:42):
In crime because it's getting warm.
Speaker 12 (01:17:45):
No know what it is.
Speaker 2 (01:17:47):
What is it?
Speaker 7 (01:17:48):
They're trying to drive our commerce down and they're trying
to uh uh persuade folks not to come to mensis.
Speaker 2 (01:17:56):
That's what it's all about.
Speaker 1 (01:17:58):
Folks.
Speaker 2 (01:17:58):
We gotta follow that doubt.
Speaker 7 (01:18:01):
Somebody's paying these guys to put this chaos in this
every year at the same time, Bobbie.
Speaker 1 (01:18:09):
Tad and you know to be But you know, I've
actually heard that from from some influential people in the
city of Memphis. I ain't calling no names, but I've
actually heard that they're somebody that's paying a lot of
these kids to get out here and do what they're doing.
That's that ay, and it's organized right.
Speaker 7 (01:18:26):
You got to realize that them Gates is making money
some kind of way these games and somebody's payings, and uh,
if you follow the money, I would believe that it's
somebody uh uh the folks that benefitting the most office.
Those folks been in the houses down there in Mississippi,
and I would think those big Republicans.
Speaker 1 (01:18:47):
Now that you think they're driving people out of Memphis
to the Mississippi and places around.
Speaker 7 (01:18:54):
That's that's why I think the whole of the agendas
is about every year. I used to call in every
time you're there starting downtown, killing folks and shooting up everything.
Then they lead there, go to Midtown, start around there,
and then they uh then then they right, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:19:17):
Midtown.
Speaker 1 (01:19:17):
Yeah I got to run, but thank you so much.
Speaker 7 (01:19:20):
So when they get rid of those gangsters up in
New York, know what they had to do. They paid
them folks, uh, them gangsters, they paid them some real money.
You skim them uh for facelifts and uh practice serge
and all that real money. I ain't talked about the
ten thousand dollars that these cat call for cash.
Speaker 2 (01:19:44):
Calls you folks kill you.
Speaker 7 (01:19:46):
They pay these folks. They need to put up like
a million, two million, three millions dollars something like that
to pay these gangsters to bring down one of them
big old gang leaders uh or one of the big
support and they'll put him on the wrong I.
Speaker 1 (01:20:02):
Got you, mister Weston. You know what he's gonna do.
Somebody gonna take their place.
Speaker 10 (01:20:06):
W D I A hello hello there, all right, dud listen,
I'm gonna straight this oute ain't gonna say long. The
reason why they got those guys in prison like that,
uh with the head dot it's a military tactic, okay,
in Vietnam captured one of those guys. If a little
bit old guy, he's a small guy, if he ever
got up in the air with that kong fu and
(01:20:28):
stop whirling with his feet, abody, and you get his
eyes down, you keep his head down where he can't
get sights on what he's gonna do. See his eyes
is gonna tell him what his.
Speaker 2 (01:20:38):
Feet gonna do.
Speaker 10 (01:20:39):
See in Kong Fo that's what it works, and that's
what that's all about. In that country to use that
method the military, and in Vietnam to use a lot
of it the VC. You have to make sure you
get him covered up quick because he get in that
roundhouse and he'll he'll two or three big guys. He
kicked him down.
Speaker 15 (01:20:55):
Wow.
Speaker 10 (01:20:56):
Yeah, let me say this, and I'm gonna let you go.
Speaker 6 (01:20:59):
U uh.
Speaker 10 (01:21:00):
The mayor, the young mayor is nice to have one
that got one of their rotasos. I think his father
is a minister, right.
Speaker 1 (01:21:07):
Mm hmm, I've heard. I've heard that.
Speaker 2 (01:21:09):
Yeah, he was Okay.
Speaker 10 (01:21:11):
Now, when you get in a position like that young
Mayor's in, you gotta listen very closely, or you gotta
have somebody behind you in your ear. You can't answer
all them questions. When he jumped up and then answered
the question too quick, he didn't know whether the police
how it was down there at all. He answered something
he shouldn't have answered. He should have had some police.
He he hadn't referred to them to found out whether
(01:21:32):
they had the proper amount of protection.
Speaker 11 (01:21:34):
Down there or not.
Speaker 10 (01:21:35):
He just answered it. And when he answered it, somebody's
are always standing back to here. Ain't nobody gonna love.
Speaker 2 (01:21:42):
Everybody what you do.
Speaker 10 (01:21:45):
You can get to be mayor you can be young,
your dad can be a preacher or whatever. Somebody is
gonna pick you off. That's mean why all of these
people in imparted positions have somebody listening, and you don't
answer everything, even life out of here. You don't answer
every question a person pop on you because that person
has started that question, and when they pop it, they
(01:22:06):
want to make sure it comes out the way they
want to be got it. And that's only the two
things I want to say. I think he's doing a
pretty good job. The guy young, he don't know everything.
He ain't a street gut no.
Speaker 1 (01:22:16):
Ray, we got to give him a chance.
Speaker 10 (01:22:18):
Yes, it's not a street guy. He probably stood on
no Combe went around nowhere.
Speaker 2 (01:22:22):
Man.
Speaker 10 (01:22:23):
He don't know real tactics up the street. And that's
one of the things you don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:22:27):
Thank you, thank you so much for call again. I
appreciate you explaining that too. Nurse Beverly, I hope you
heard that. And Clyde said, tell Nurse Beverley, they have
a wrist chain with ankles, so they have to walk
like that. Maybe they need to treat the prisoners in
the United States like that as well. I'm staying right
here in Memphis. Ain't going nowhere, no to Mississippi with
(01:22:50):
all them tornadoes. No, no, no, Miss King says to
Clyde's question, the Anthony family maybe trying to move because
of the threats. Yeah, that's what somebody else said. You
and Jack and mentioned women letting a man go without
king his car and all of that other stuff we do.
And it reminded me of your story from yesterday. The
football player from Southern Equadarius Davis's girlfriend tried to break
(01:23:12):
up with him, and he tried to kill her. I
do believe that we as women need to learn to
move on without catching a case. But we need men
to move on just the same and not physically harm
us because we are ending the relationship. MM let's do that.
This classic TV throwback and y'all call him, y'all wait
(01:23:34):
a little late, be trying to get up in the hill.
I'm gonna take one more caller, miss Antonio, and then
we're gonna answer this classic TV throwback.
Speaker 2 (01:23:44):
Hey, miss Stormy, how you doing.
Speaker 1 (01:23:46):
I'm doing good? How are you?
Speaker 2 (01:23:50):
Antonio?
Speaker 1 (01:23:50):
Hey Antonio?
Speaker 22 (01:23:52):
Hey, I just wanted to say that the young guys
are like in pay that got perform no hanideck or
do aut his food. Not all of them, all them,
I don't think.
Speaker 2 (01:24:03):
I don't think any of them are.
Speaker 7 (01:24:06):
I don't think any of us.
Speaker 22 (01:24:08):
I just think that the juvenile system are filling the
young guys who go into the system.
Speaker 7 (01:24:15):
When they got rid of THU the facilities.
Speaker 22 (01:24:17):
That help the young guys growing to better men. Like
when I was getting in trouble coming up in the
hurt of the projects, I'd have been the Tall Trees.
They had places like there you can go for young
teams that will get in trouble. I'd have been to
STC because you get in trouble one and once they
gonna see you somewhere else. But what I'm saying is
they took all the facilities that would help the youth
(01:24:38):
grow and get better, which I may say, I have
never been in trouble since I Land. Somebody got in
trouble I was seventeen years old. I've never been into
a one. So the programs that they did have in
the places that they rush any kids did work, but
that's gone now, so now they don't.
Speaker 7 (01:24:55):
Have anything to do but the internet, the gun, the gang.
Speaker 17 (01:25:00):
You can buy a gun at eighteen.
Speaker 22 (01:25:01):
Now that's the number one problem. So the people need
to stop complaining all the time and start blaming the
people that they voted for, and stop being scared to talk.
I think everybody so skared to speak what's on their mind.
And stop calling people.
Speaker 10 (01:25:17):
I mean it is some people calling and I'm gonna say.
Speaker 2 (01:25:19):
This and i'na be done.
Speaker 7 (01:25:21):
I agree with Merredith so much. Once you be calling Marritor.
Speaker 22 (01:25:24):
Make a lot of valid points, and I do aw,
I'd be agree with a lot. But like people be shooting,
colding this stuff and trying to we need to do
this and do it now. We need to get out
here and stop acting like y'all are praise to say
stuff to these kids or whoever you see, because I
ain't scared to say nothing to them. I don't kurk
get if they get mad or not. But y'all got
(01:25:46):
to be stop being afraid to say something to people
if they your.
Speaker 2 (01:25:49):
Kids are not.
Speaker 1 (01:25:50):
So you're saying we need to be speaking up. We
need to be getting involved in these kids.
Speaker 2 (01:25:55):
Exactly.
Speaker 1 (01:25:57):
Okay, you see I'm doing wrong.
Speaker 11 (01:26:00):
Say y'all stop going on now.
Speaker 10 (01:26:04):
They were happening back in the day when I was
coming up.
Speaker 1 (01:26:06):
Yeah, sure did a kid man. I got told on
so many times. My neighbor told on me all the time,
told my MoMA everything I was doing.
Speaker 7 (01:26:15):
And I believe I just wanted to get that point across.
Speaker 8 (01:26:17):
I just wanted to speak my opinion.
Speaker 1 (01:26:21):
I appreciate you, all right, thank you, Antonio. All right,
all right, somebody, I mean, I appreciate it, Antonio, call
it in and sharing that. Yeah we we we got
to do a little bit more. We're not maybe, yeah
we got get involved, say something, speak up,
