The Shelbourne Knee Center Podcast

The Shelbourne Knee Center Podcast is an educational podcast targeting clinicians who treat patients with knee pain or knee injuries. Scot Bauman, PT, DPT, PhD, physical therapist and clinical researcher and Rodney Benner, MD, orthopedic surgeon, will discuss a new topic every week covering many different aspects of orthopedic knee care. They will also be joined by guests from around the world to discuss knee treatment with the goal of creating a healthy discussion to improve patient outcomes. The conversation will generally cover the most recent data on the topic, both internally from the Shelbourne Knee Center and externally from published studies, that is used to guide these treatment philosophies.

On this episode, we discuss a recent project assessing the rates of TKA based on the location and severity of knee OA. The project showed a statistically significantly higher rate of TKA for severe OA when the OA was located in the medial compartment when compared to the lateral or PF compartments.
