Speaker 9 (01:55):
Well, I guess let me first start with I'm mister Henderson,
and tell our listeners a little bit about you and
what you do at the Memphis Health Center.

Speaker 10 (02:06):
So, of course my name is Martavius Henderson, Chief Operating Officer.

Speaker 6 (02:10):
So I bring it all together, I make it make sense.

Speaker 10 (02:12):
I work with clinical of course, finance and operations, making
sure that the day to day operations are taken care
of as it relates to the patients and the staff
of memphisil Center.

Speaker 5 (02:21):
And how long you been doing that?

Speaker 10 (02:23):
I have been doing this since October one, But I've
been with Memphis ol.

Speaker 6 (02:27):
Center for going on nine years now, right, in.

Speaker 10 (02:31):
Various roles, but promoted to the chief operating Officer October
one of twenty twenty four.

Speaker 5 (02:36):
So the Memphis Health Center for people who are listening
for the first time, it's nothing new.

Speaker 8 (02:43):
Nothing new.

Speaker 10 (02:43):
It's been around, been in existance for it. In April
will be fifty five years. What fifty five years?

Speaker 5 (02:51):
Wow? So what you say? It is one of the
best kept secrets. It is the best kept secret, he said,
y'all said, he said, it is the best.

Speaker 10 (03:02):
It's the best kept secret. We are a jewel in
the community. Wow, yes, ma'am.

Speaker 5 (03:07):
So you make sure that everything is going right and
what needs to be there.

Speaker 6 (03:13):
Correct, comprehensive health care.

Speaker 5 (03:15):
Comprehensive, comprehensive is the Memphis Health Center for everybody, and
what I'm what I'm saying, you know, because of it
is for low income people, this kind of person.

Speaker 10 (03:28):
It is for everyone, regardless of their ability to pay.
Everyone insurance, no insurance, a little money. All, all patients,
all community can come see us at Memphis Center.

Speaker 5 (03:41):
So for fifty five years you all have been around, Yes,
fifty years and still going, still going, So evidently you're
doing something right.

Speaker 6 (03:51):
Yes, ma'am.

Speaker 10 (03:52):
We are I dedicated staff take care of the patients,
and of course we wouldn't be in resistance without the patience.
So of course we think all of our patients of
Memphis Health Center because they make it possible.

Speaker 5 (04:02):
Okay, okay, let me turn over to doctor Robert Nicoley CMO.

Speaker 8 (04:08):
You got it.

Speaker 5 (04:08):
I got it, I got it. Tell me your job
and position and what you do there at the Memphis
Health Center.

Speaker 11 (04:16):
Well, I have had the honor of being the chief
medical officer there for the going on my fourth the year.
You may pick up an accent, Yes I do, I have.
I'm a prey out Pennsylvania. Native for my first fifty
four years of my life, and we were fortunate to
move down here into the Memphis area. And again I've

(04:39):
been very honored to be the chief medical Officer for
the Memphis helf Center for the going on my fourth year.
My role is basically to make sure that all of
the clinical pro programs at all of our offices are
ron efficiently, at all the patients are taken care of,

(05:01):
that we're meeting all of our quality measures, that we
are pro providing the very best of care in uh
numerous service lines that that we do have.

Speaker 5 (05:13):
So doctor Robert, I'm just gonna say that's that's okay.
So someone's listening and and and and you are being
heard across the country and someone's listening and may moving
here to Memphis, and they're saying, okay, the Memphis Health Center,
So what are the services the clinical services you all provide?

Speaker 8 (05:36):
Sure?

Speaker 11 (05:37):
Now, And that's a and that that's a great point.
And I do appreciate that we do have three offices.
Our main office is in our Crump location and there
we prorovide adult or family medicine, ped Pediatrics, O B
G Y N SERVI Service Services OP ophthalmology, PO, dietary

(06:03):
dental service services. We have a full farm pharmacy there
along with X X ray and momography services there.

Speaker 8 (06:14):
At our Whitehaven.

Speaker 11 (06:16):
Clinic, we do have adults and slash, Family Medicine PD, Pediatrics,
UH and ob O B G Y N WE you
we you do have our hidden gym out of the
three offices in ross in Rossville right on Route fifties seven,

(06:37):
beautiful beautiful clinic. We and we do have family medicine
adult services there along with pediatrics, ophthalmology, PO, dietary dental,
behavioral health and I think I missed behavioral health in
our in our Crump Low Low location. That's one of
the service lines that we are expanding, and Martavius has

(07:00):
a lot more to say about that, but that's also
at our Crump location and our Rossville location.

Speaker 8 (07:07):
So anybody that's.

Speaker 11 (07:07):
Even back into the area, whether you're pregnant, whether you
have a newborn, whether you have a two year old,
or you're taking care of your mom who's eighty eighty seven,
we have the services through the entire life.

Speaker 8 (07:22):
Life sleep cycle.

Speaker 5 (07:26):
I didn't know that you all had other locations. I
just thought the one on Crump so and you mentioned
after our and white Haven, I didn't know there was one,
and then then Rossville.

Speaker 11 (07:42):
And our Weighthaven location is right on Elvis Presley, and
I'm not sure that between rains And and Shelby Drive,
and I didn't know that.

Speaker 10 (07:50):
Those are three standalone locations. And we also have three
partner locations that we provide healthcare to the homeless population.
Oh that says Synergy, Salvation Army and also the Warrior Center.
Oh okay, So rotating a schedule weekly and going out
to those clinics taking care of the patient's experience and
living with homelessiness.

Speaker 5 (08:10):
Okay, that's interesting because I did, I never I just
always thought the Crump location.

Speaker 6 (08:15):
Yeah, that's our main location.

Speaker 5 (08:17):
Okay, that's the main location, and probably most people ta
think about that's the only location we have. So with
the white Haven location, again, do you offer all the
services you mentioned, doctor Robert or you do so?

Speaker 11 (08:35):
Not as our white Haven it's the adult service line okay,
Pediatrics and ob g y n okay, okay.

Speaker 8 (08:45):
Is offered there.

Speaker 11 (08:46):
And we are looking through our great CEO, we are
looking to expand that to clinic. We are looking for
a new place and we have some of those common
conversations going and if able to do that, we will
expand our services at our White Heaven location to include
predatory and dent on all them. So hope, hopefully some

(09:09):
great information coming in the in the future.

Speaker 5 (09:12):
Good you. Also, I want to go back to something
in mar tape as you said about that you all
except anybody?

Speaker 6 (09:21):
Anybody?

Speaker 5 (09:22):
So people without insurance, because that's a big deal now, yes,
So how how how you deal with that? Do if
they don't have insurance, do they have to come with
some kind of funds or how does that work?

Speaker 10 (09:37):
We have a we have a program called the Slide
and Feed program and it's based on your family size
and income. So that's how you'll be that's how you
pay for your services if you don't have insurance. And
we'll call those self pay patients.

Speaker 5 (09:49):
Oh okay, okay, so.

Speaker 6 (09:51):
You qualify through the sliding feed program.

Speaker 5 (09:54):
Oh okay, so but you so let me ask this
question someone listening. Do you take all kinds of it
people who do have insurance? Because sometimes you go places
and they don't they won't take the insurance.

Speaker 6 (10:08):
We take all insurances.

Speaker 5 (10:09):
Because what is it in network? Or you know, so
all insurance.

Speaker 11 (10:17):
Hmm, So did you want to say something, because I
do think it's important that people may say, hey, you
do take all all all in all insurances, but it's
the care different and I own and see certain people
have this good point, and that is not the case
at all. We don't as providers. We don't look at that.

(10:41):
We don't care a about that. Does that matter in
terms of what we can order? Sure, and we need
to work with that. But that's one of the benefits
of having our own pharmacy is that we do have
a discount pro program with our with our pharmacy, so
people without an insurance we can help by them coming

(11:01):
to us and going through our UH form our pharmacy.
But it's not as if you're seen in another clinic
or there's only certain times you could be seen.

Speaker 8 (11:09):
Nothing like that.

Speaker 11 (11:10):
No, we don't look at that at all, and everybody
is treated whether you have Blue Cross and Blue Shield
or you don't have any insurance at all.

Speaker 5 (11:19):
Interesting, good to know you have a pharmacy. Is the
pharmacy only for the clients that come to the Memphis
Health Center. Yes, okay, so I couldn't. I couldn't come
there because I'm not a patient. Correct okay, but that
that's good to know because when you mentioned pharmacy.

Speaker 6 (11:39):
But we do receive that question a lot.

Speaker 5 (11:41):
You do you do? Okay? Only open to those patients
of the Memphis Okay, if you just tuned in this afternoon,
we are talking with my guests from the Memphis Health Center.
Doctor Robert Dicoli is here. He is the CMO, and
my TV is Henderson, who's the COO. If you have

(12:03):
a question or two for my guests, we do invite
you to call nine zero one five three five nine
three four two nine zero one five three five nine
three four two eight hundred five zero three nine three
four two eight three three five three five nine three

(12:24):

Speaker 2 (12:26):
You're listening to Double You d I A The BEVJ Sessial.

Speaker 12 (12:43):

Hall of Famer Bev Johnson on w d IA.

Speaker 6 (13:42):
You're listening to the Bev Johnson Show. Here's Bev Johnson
and we're.

Speaker 5 (13:47):
Talking with my guys from the Memphis Health Center, doctor
Robert Dicoli and my trevious Henderson. We are going to
our phone lines to talk with you. Thank you for waiting.

Speaker 7 (13:58):
Hi, Kathy, Hi, how are you.

Speaker 5 (14:01):
I'm doing well in yourself, I am doing good.

Speaker 7 (14:06):
I did have a question for the Mento Telk Center
staff about sliding fee.

Speaker 5 (14:11):
About what now.

Speaker 7 (14:13):
The sliding fee scale?

Speaker 5 (14:14):
Okay? Okay?

Speaker 7 (14:18):
So I have like six six kids. I don't know
what to do do I just bring them all in
there to see the provider.

Speaker 6 (14:29):
Yes, that's available for you.

Speaker 10 (14:30):
So when you come in, you just bring a proof
of income and residency and of course you can qualify
for the slide feed program for you and the children.

Speaker 7 (14:39):
Proof of income. That would be like what like just
my job, I don't have a job or anything.

Speaker 5 (14:46):
She doesn't have a job. You don't have a job,
don't have a job. Okay, so my tabs what does
what does she need to do?

Speaker 10 (14:52):
So you can call our main number and speak with
one of our consultants and they'll walk you through the
process of how you can get.

Speaker 6 (14:57):
Risk of for you and your children.

Speaker 5 (15:00):
And we want to get the number nine zero one,
do it slow, nine zero one two six one.

Speaker 7 (15:05):
Nine zero one two six one okay, two thousand, two thousand, okay,
and do we speak Just call someone there and there
tell me about the Slider Street program or what I
need to bring our schedule.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
Me.

Speaker 10 (15:20):
No, man, when you call there, walk through the entire
process on what you need to bring for your appointment.

Speaker 7 (15:27):
Oh okay, that sounds good. Then that sounds very good.

Speaker 5 (15:30):
So Kathy, make sure you tell them that you spoke
to mister Henderson on the radio and he told you
to call and you want to know what you need
to do to come in with yourself and your six children.

Speaker 7 (15:44):
I will do that. I appreciate you guys so much.
Thanks for everything you guys do in the community as well.

Speaker 5 (15:49):
You welcome Kathy, Thank you, Kathy.

Speaker 7 (15:52):
Thank you, bye bye, thank you.

Speaker 5 (15:54):
Bye bye. Now, See what a person like she doesn't work,
she has children, and so the Memphis Health Center would
is good for her.

Speaker 6 (16:04):
Someone like that, That's what we're in place for.

Speaker 10 (16:06):
We receive federal dollars to take care of patients regardless
of their ability to pay. So that's why we're in place.
That's our mission. That's a part of what we do.

Speaker 5 (16:14):
Good good. You also do something you're working with behavioral health.
Talk about that for me.

Speaker 6 (16:19):
I'm very excited about behavior health.

Speaker 10 (16:22):
Of course, the Memphis Hell Center was recently awarded over
one point two million dollars from herself to expand and
enhance our behavior health program. And so with that, the
mission for their program, of course is addressed mental health
and substance use disorders as a part of a holistic
approach to health.

Speaker 5 (16:42):
Oh good, so because I had wrote down mental health.
But that's behavior, the same thing, the same thing and
substance abuse. So someone is having some problems, mental health problems,
they can now come to the Memphis Health Yes, I'm
glad you said about substance abuse. They can come. What

(17:06):
what do they need to and and and and and
that's one of my fields because of subchial abuse counselor.
But so what do they need to do?

Speaker 10 (17:15):
Schedule an appointment for behavior health and of course they'll
receive initial evaluation and assessment from one of our counsels.

Speaker 5 (17:21):
Right right, So all they have to do.

Speaker 10 (17:23):
Is call, Yes, just call and make an appointment. Okay,
New patients and old patients. Okay, So let me ask
this question.

Speaker 5 (17:30):
With someone's listening and they don't have a a doctor
or anything, they need some attention, call the Memphis Health
Center to schedule an appointment.

Speaker 6 (17:43):
You have to have an appointment, yes, and we will
set walkings as well.

Speaker 5 (17:46):
I was gonna ask you do your is that it
every location?

Speaker 6 (17:50):
Yes? Every location walkings Okay, okay.

Speaker 5 (17:55):
One of the things that I heard, doctor Robert you
said about offered don't correct? Is that full service dental
work or you only certain things like cleaning or extractions,
but most.

Speaker 8 (18:12):
Of the don't work. So we do all.

Speaker 11 (18:14):
You know, we do have a high a high gienus
who will clean, We do feelings, we do extractions. We
are working on getting plates and crowns and all that stuff,
so we don't have that right now, but we are
working towards having them come into our you know, to
develop a relationship and have those services in our clinic.

(18:36):
So hopefully we can come back soon and tell you
that that that we have them.

Speaker 5 (18:41):
So so you all are always the Memphis Health Center.
That what I'm hearing that you're always looking to get
more services for this community.

Speaker 6 (18:51):
Correct.

Speaker 5 (18:53):
I was thinking Fellas that I'm thinking the Cromp location. Okay,
it is so close Darkansas. Do you accept people from
Arkansas or even Mississippi?

Speaker 6 (19:07):
Yes, we do, you do, so if.

Speaker 5 (19:10):
They're over in West Memphis, they can come on over,
they can come over. Wow, So you're you're you're not
discriminating serve.

Speaker 6 (19:19):
Us around the county, So Timpton County, Fayette County.

Speaker 10 (19:22):
Of course, we have the location in Fayette County, so
we service that population as well.

Speaker 5 (19:26):
So the the in Fayette County, so that's the Rossville correct.
So do they have all the services that you provide
here in Memphis or they only have particular services.

Speaker 8 (19:38):
Doctor Roberts most of the services.

Speaker 11 (19:41):
So we do have adult peeds, We have dental goes
out there, ophthalmology goes there, podietary is there. We have
our mimography unit that is there.

Speaker 8 (19:53):
You know.

Speaker 11 (19:53):
Of course we're not there every single day with every
single service as far at our Crump location, but but
they do go there, so somebody would not have to
go down into our cuplication.

Speaker 8 (20:05):
For a for a mamogram.

Speaker 11 (20:08):
We do have there a state of the art three
three D same as you're going to get at a
any of the tertiary hospitals that are here.

Speaker 5 (20:16):
Oh okay, oh good, good to.

Speaker 10 (20:19):
Know, Mimms Johnson. I failed to mention that we have
a mobile health clinic. Okay, tell me about the move. Yes,
we can partner with any school, community centers, churches, all
of that bringing health care to the population, to the patients,
to the community.

Speaker 5 (20:35):
So but someone's listening. You would have to schedule the
mobile unit, yes, to come correct, So you could come
to a church, yes, oh.

Speaker 10 (20:45):
Yes, ma'am, churches, schools, like I said, community centers, assistant
living facilities. Especially during COVID, we were able to vaccinate
hundreds and thousands of people through the mobile health clinic.

Speaker 5 (20:57):
So with the mobile health clinic, what are the services
that are being offered? Only vaccinations or what else is
happening in the mobile helping clinic?

Speaker 10 (21:07):
Just medical and dental medical? Okay, good, and that includes
vaccinations as well.

Speaker 5 (21:13):
Well yeah, yeah, I was Oh good. You have dinner, Yes,
we have.

Speaker 6 (21:18):
A dinner, operatory room and also a medical room.

Speaker 5 (21:20):
Okay. So this is good to know because a lot
of people as we see we we we know the
place on Crump and some people I was talking to
some folks, I was telling them I was going to
have them on. I didn't know they were still open.
That's why, that's why I'm glad to have you here,

(21:42):
because I'm really because she said, I didn't know that
that clinic was still open. And I think they say
that because because of the Metro Center. That's a lot
of that still closed down, correct, but the Crump Low
Tech location is is open. Didn't you all have a
renovation years ago? Or okay? Okay, multi million dollars? Okay,

(22:09):
I have. Before I go to our phone lines, I
have an email question for you, all says okay, bev
ask your guests. Okay, what types of services are offered
for someone dealing with substance abuse? And that's Loretta, Thank you, Loretta.

Speaker 11 (22:26):
Sure, that's really a great point. So what we're doing
now is we are working on having an alliance because
substance abuse really has more multi steps, some of which
we can do, some of which we need to partner
with other people for. So we still encourage you to
come in. You see see one of our pro fighters.

(22:49):
We were then looking to partner with somebody to do
the acute detok.

Speaker 8 (22:54):
So you're on heroin, you're on this.

Speaker 11 (22:56):
You got to come off of the heroine in a
controlled environment, which we don't have, so we're looking to
partner there. Once that person is stabilized, then they will
come back to us. We do have behavioral health I'm sorry,
a addiction specialists that are in our office that will
see you. We're able to get the suboxone through our pharmacy,

(23:19):
and we will then be partnering with somebody that would
do the alcohol and to draw a counseling piece. So
it's a multi step thing, but the first step is
to come to us. We will then get you a
acutely detoxed, get you somewhere for that. Once you're stable,
come back to us to see our addiction specialists, get
your medicines from us, and also get your counseling from

(23:40):
again somebody that we're going to be partnering with as
well as seeing us for maybe your overall medical care.
So some of the dots still have to be a
dot at tease cross, but that's whe're moving to when
we're really really excited to be able to offer that
service very very soon.

Speaker 5 (23:55):
And so I want to be clear, I'm so glad
you said that, doctor Robert, because you don't have the service,
because some people who are dealing with substance abuse need
to be in a place of facility where they have beds,
and that you don't. You don't have that. That's coruct good,
cruct good good. Going to our phone lines to talk
to one of our listeners, w D I A high caller.

Speaker 13 (24:17):
Hey bet, that's how you doing this day, Prince of
the Charles Gotter mee me, how you doing dollars?

Speaker 5 (24:23):
I'm doing well and you, Prince, how are you?

Speaker 14 (24:26):
I'm doing great? Thank you for asking. Good up and
interview your college and your listeners and you get Beth
from past experience. I want to let them know I
have used this service back in the day and it
was absolutely fantastic, So I want to give them kudos
when it comes to that with a dental part of it,
that's the only part that I had to use.

Speaker 5 (24:45):
I want to tell you went you went there, you
went there to see see a dentist.

Speaker 13 (24:49):
I'm prince, yeah, the one the one on Crump.

Speaker 5 (24:51):
Okay, what I got the one on Crump Okay, go
right ahead.

Speaker 13 (24:55):
And I want to say that they did an outstanding job.
It is so professional, They were very kind, they were cultural.
So I just want to let them know. And the
people in the staff there back in the day was
absolutely fantastic. I don't know if you remember they had
doctor Carpenter working there as well.

Speaker 5 (25:13):
Hmmm, I don't remember, but go on, Prince.

Speaker 13 (25:16):
Okay, but I want to ask this past weekend THEVW
Baptist Church did a health seminar well health care for
people who needed dentist surgery where you got part of
that that as well that they did this past weekend.

Speaker 5 (25:33):
No, we're not, you know what, Prince that that's I
forget what you call that. That's a kind of a
World of Nation thing. I forgot. I forgot the name
of this that they do. They go around different states
with that dental thing.

Speaker 13 (25:45):
Yes they knew, yes, uh huh. I just want to
know what they're part of the county. But what they
did it was absolutely fantastic. It was no charge for anybody,
but it was the first come, first third for people
came up and that's a wonderful thing. And I just
want to know what are they part of the dentists
that serve the community in that fashion And do you

(26:06):
ever do that type of uh work when it comes
to community services.

Speaker 10 (26:11):
Yes, so we were not a part of that event
that you're speaking on, but yes, we do a lot
of health fayres, a lot of healthfare is partnering with
different agencies and we bring those services to the community.

Speaker 5 (26:21):
And also Princeville you have mentioned, mister Henderson mentioned that
they have a mobile unit correct that they can go.
They can go to health center, well, community centers, and
to churches.

Speaker 13 (26:33):
Churches, yeah, churches they do. I haven't seen that. I've
just seen their buses, okay, the mobile busses and everything. Yes,
and it's just you know, let me say this and
I'll let you go.

Speaker 5 (26:43):
Okay.

Speaker 13 (26:44):
People, people don't realize that they taken time out to
come out to the community.

Speaker 15 (26:50):
You don't.

Speaker 13 (26:50):
You don't have to go to a specialist. They're coming
into the heart of the community.

Speaker 8 (26:55):
I know.

Speaker 13 (26:56):
I've seen them one time in North Memphis in the
New Chicago area and do some service and just for
free best I mean, and if it is it's just
a little to nothing. But yes, I have seen the
work that they do, and I just want to stand
up an applaud for the service that they give to
the community, because, as you know, best, a lot of

(27:16):
people cannot afford these type of services or it's a
strain on it. It's either they're paying for one thing
and they got to rob somebody else to pay for
the others. And here you are the people like this
that comes out of it. I was their own puncket
and come out and try to have the community. And
that's that's a blessing any way you look at.

Speaker 5 (27:35):
It, right, And that's why they said, Prince Memphis Health Center,
they are here to help everyone, regardless whether you have
money or not.

Speaker 13 (27:45):
Thank you, Prince, Thank you Dold. You have a beautiful blessing,
safe and healthy day.

Speaker 5 (27:50):
You do you too. Bye bye, doctor Robert, I have
another email for you. This is Deborah, and Deborah wanted
to know. Does the Memphis Health Center treat people with cancer.

Speaker 8 (28:05):
Hmmm uh specifically with their cancer.

Speaker 15 (28:10):
No.

Speaker 11 (28:11):
So in terms of we don't give chemotherapy at our
at our offices.

Speaker 12 (28:16):
Uh.

Speaker 11 (28:16):
That's a specialized uh treatment that we're just not able
to perform. Obviously, we do all the preventative testing uh
so if you're worried about if you have cancer or
anything else, obviously the mimography, the PAP testing, the uh
uh uh p s as the routine blood screening, so

(28:39):
we'll screen for cancer wiviously, will work with the cancer
doctor in making sure that you're on the right medicines.

Speaker 8 (28:45):
Labs are done.

Speaker 11 (28:46):
But in terms of the chemotherapy itself, that's a that's
handled by the uh uh by the specialists.

Speaker 5 (28:53):
So so men and women can come in and get
those screenings. I love that. Yeah, I love that.

Speaker 8 (29:02):
Good.

Speaker 11 (29:03):
Good, And that's part of your annuable visit to do.
We should be doing all of all of that anyway,
and all the all of the listeners can make sure
they contact me and we'll make sure that it gets done,
because that should be part of a annual annual physical.

Speaker 5 (29:18):
Okay, okay, anything else Martavius that that the center does
that you have not mentioned, so we need to know about.

Speaker 6 (29:28):
Yes, of course.

Speaker 10 (29:29):
So in addition to our of course primary health care
services that we offer, we also have several programs such
as Tennessee breast and cervical councer screening for women.

Speaker 6 (29:40):
We have, like I said, healthcare for the homeless.

Speaker 12 (29:42):
Uh.

Speaker 10 (29:42):
We have a certified application counselor that actually signed patients
up for insurance during open enrollment period.

Speaker 5 (29:49):
Oh okay, y's ma'am.

Speaker 7 (29:51):
Good.

Speaker 10 (29:52):
We have around white HIV program that of course assists
those individuals living and affected with HIV AIDS. We have
an on site social worker. So we have a rail
of services that we offer homes.

Speaker 5 (30:04):
Yeah, and with the services I love that. With the
services also that doctor Robert, they can come and and
and get tested, get screening, and like you said, we
need to be doing annual that to see that we're okay, our.

Speaker 11 (30:20):
Health is okay, correct, and primary prevention is always easier
and less less onerous than waiting for something to uh
have happen.

Speaker 4 (30:32):
Uh.

Speaker 11 (30:32):
The other thing that you sort of talked about before
A Bev and I appreciate that, okay, was the fact
that Memphis Health Center is constantly looking for other services
that the community doesn't have, and us as an executive team,
we get we talked about that and we and we
real and we realized that a comprehensive childhood program of

(30:53):
wellness wasn't really out there. So coming in April, which
we're totally thrilled to uh talk a A we're going
to be offering a children's wellness clinic and that's going
to end encompass weight management, behavioral health, dental immunizations, social service,

(31:13):
fetal maternal health all wrapped in. We were very fortunate
and very happy, Uh doctor Sashion Juggle, who has been
in the community is coming back to join join us
and really get this program started that he's done in
other areas. It really looks at all the aspects of

(31:34):
child health into one center one thing, because education takes time,
and when when the primary care doc or a pediatrician
is dealing with a weight management issue with a child
with behavioral health issues, with maybe social determinants of health
and food and security or whatever, it takes time, and

(31:55):
most primary offices are in geared to handle all of it.
All of that, so we're looking at one stop, one
phone call, no worries for the primary care give us
a call, We'll get them into the program, and we'll
be able to walk through the behavioral health. We'll be
able to deal with the social determined sealth with their
social worker.

Speaker 8 (32:16):
Healthier child, healthier parent, healthier family.

Speaker 11 (32:19):
And if we're able to get that done first rather
than waiting until there's a substance abuse when they're eighteen
or nineteen, or there's overweight issues, then that's a lot easier.
The other program that is excellent as part of this,
and our obgyn docs do a great job with the
overall care of a pregnant female. We do excellent work,

(32:41):
but specifically educating the pregnant female on what they do
to lead to the health of their fetus is a
piece of it that could be done a little bit
more comprehensively well. Doctor Joegel will do this. So part
of our childhood Wellness clinic is not just the children

(33:01):
that are born, but the children that aren't born yet,
and how can we make sure that the mother understands
what she needs to do to lead to a healthier
baby and a healthier, better birth.

Speaker 8 (33:13):
So we're really excited.

Speaker 11 (33:16):
April is going to be our kickoff time and it's
something that the community doesn't really have great access to,
and we.

Speaker 8 (33:23):
Really are looking forward to offering this to the community.

Speaker 5 (33:28):
I like that, and I was just thinking and our
caller Kathy with those six children, Yes, would be perfect
for a perfect example that you need it. I want
to go back, Martavis, back to the mobile unit because
I'm interested in that. So when people call you with them,

(33:49):
do they need to call you and say, we need
this unit over here because in this community people may
not be getting health care, or you're gonna go places
where maybe they're having a health fare or I want
to be clear on that because people, you know, someone's
listening said, well, my church may want you to come
over here, but specifically doesn't have to have be a need.

Speaker 6 (34:14):
No, both both, Okay.

Speaker 5 (34:17):
I want to be cleared.

Speaker 10 (34:18):
And also if you, like I said, if you're just
hosting an event and you you want the partnership with
Memphaicels and you want the mobile unit out there to offer.

Speaker 6 (34:25):
The services or at least advertise the services.

Speaker 5 (34:28):
There, right, because I know now like like like like
doctor Robert, Now this is the season. It's the flu
seasons and a lot of people haven't had a flute shot.
And I don't know if you all do those. Yes,
we do, you know, And and I heard you say
that you do give the COVID.

Speaker 6 (34:44):
Yes, ma'am, we do.

Speaker 5 (34:45):
So I that's a that's a great idea to get
to get your mobile unit out.

Speaker 10 (34:53):
A lot of agencies have reached out already. We've already been.
Just last week we vaccinated over fifty people. Wow, in
living facility with of course flu vaccinations.

Speaker 5 (35:02):
Oh yeah, okay. And I usually try to ask the
question somebody's listening. We'll say, bad, well what do they charge?
Do you all charge to come out to these places?

Speaker 6 (35:15):
No charge?

Speaker 5 (35:16):
Wow? I love that.

Speaker 6 (35:17):
No charge.

Speaker 5 (35:18):
That That's wonderful, man, because that's needed. Let me go
back because it's a person's listening, Doctor Robert. And I
know this because you talked about you all offer mammo
grand and something. Is that only done at the center
or can you do that in the mobile clinic? Okay?

Speaker 11 (35:38):
Unfortunately it's only at the center because again, the unit
that we have is a state of the art.

Speaker 8 (35:43):
Okay, three three D momo.

Speaker 11 (35:45):
It's it's the it's the top mamogram that you're gonna get.
So the the equipment doesn't allow us to put it
into the mobile.

Speaker 5 (35:52):
Okay, yeah, because I know some some places health facilities
do that, and and I was going, I said, that
would be great, but but that's good, but you all
do the other come on out. And so this person
I know who's afraid of a mammogram, you need to
go up to the to the Memphis episode of their
own crump and get your mammogram. Isn't that right?

Speaker 8 (36:15):
Doctor agreed? Agreed, it's it's.

Speaker 11 (36:19):
It's very disappointing when when we discover breast cancer and
you find out that the woman hasn't had a mamigram
ever and the same thing. Let me say, just a
small plug for colonoscopies and for GI stuff, and colon
cancer is another cancer like breast.

Speaker 8 (36:37):
If caught early, is curable it's very curable.

Speaker 11 (36:42):
But unfortunately, because if people don't get a mammogram and
don't get a Kornosky or do a color guard, which
is another test we can talk a yeah about later. Uh,
they don't know they have it until it's too late
and it's spread throughout their body, and then the treatment
is a lot worse, a lot more in intensive. So
fully fully support of preventative care is so important.

Speaker 5 (37:03):
Okay, we are talking with my guests from the Memphis
Health Center, Doctor Robert D. Coley, and also Martavius Henderson
is here again. As we get ready to wrap up.
If y'all have a question or two, we do invite

mobile union because I'm interested and maybe trying to get
them out to uh to church in the neighbors.

Speaker 10 (39:00):
Okay, so we have it, of course, primary health care
on their medical appointments as well as dential services on
the unit. That includes the vaccinations as well.

Speaker 16 (39:11):
