In Mark 9, Jesus took three of His disciples up a mountain. There, there were no crowds, no miracles, no sermons. In that place, created by stillness and separation, something extraordinary occurred. The Gospel is powerful! It's good news. Paul writes emphatically: "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes." Do you know what makes the Gospel so powerful? Forgiveness. The Gospel begins with forgiveness. Without being reminded how much you have been forgiven, there is no way to powerfully share the Gospel.

God is love (1 John 4:8), and He also says, "Be holy, for I am holy" (1 Peter 1:16). Love reveals God's heart; holiness reveals His purity. Love without holiness can dilute God's standards, while holiness without love can make Him seem strict. But together, love and holiness show the beauty of His nature—pure love that transforms us. True holiness is not rule-keeping; it comes from following Christ.
