Here's another episode originally released during the height of the COVID19 pandemic. One of the lessons I learned during that time was that you can't forgive unless you have love in your heart. If you don't have love for the forgiven, at least you should have love for yourself. And that's especially true for when you need to forgive yourself for past mistakes.
On this leg of my journey, I'm learning to speak up for myself, and for others. Join me, please.
Today, I'd like to share with you how I learned to speak my truth with honesty, strength, and compassion.
With sobriety comes a new way of thinking, speaking, and behaving. That's true for the millions of people who are in recovery, and for me as well. I call it "My New Normal".
In the program, each meeting starts with the Serenity Prayer and ends with the Lord's Prayer. The beauty of the program is that a belief in God is not a prerequisite to partake of the benefits. All you need to do is acknowledge that there is a power greater than you or me. Here's mine... the one I call "My Great Spirit".
An obvious benefit of sobriety is having the opportunity to repair strained or broken relationships, through the making of amends. In this episode, I will share with you my joy as I celebrate having my daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughters back in my life once again. I will also share how my sobriety has allowed healing in my daughter as well.
On my journey into sobriety, I've dealt with a lot of "firsts". First family vacation while sober. First time registering to vote. While both experiences come with highs and lows, they also offer opportunities for me to share my experience, strength, and hope.
This episode is all about ignoring the bad wolf that lives in all of us and only feeding the good one. I will share a few recent examples with you.
Welcome. In this episode, I will share with you my experience, strength, and hope as I begin my journey into sobriety.
