Bixby High School assistant coach Rodney Flowers is a native of Como, Texas. Coach Flowers is entering his 14th season with the Spartans and 12th as defensive coordinator. He discusses how his coaching career began and what brought him to Oklahoma. Other topics include family time, defensive philosophy, and his favorite Spartans that he's coached over the years.
Ray Blake recently closed out his fourth year as the head coach of Bixby Wrestling. Ray served as a longtime assistant coach at Stanford, where he also wrestled for the Cardinal and finished with a 51-18 career record. Ray won 41 matches his senior season and qualified for the NCAA Championships. He finished with a No. 12 national ranking in the 165-pound division. Ray graduated in 2006 with a degree in psychology.
Kate Creekmore has served as the Bixby High School Athletic Director for four years. She has worked in all areas of education, including two stints as a school principal. Kate is a 2000 graduate of Collinsville High School, and holds degrees from NSU, SNU, and OU.
Our debut episode of season two features 15th year head football coach Loren Montgomery. Coach Montgomery grew up in Sand Springs and played college football at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla.
Nic graduated from Bixby High School in 2017. He is currently pitching in the minor leagues as a member of the Houston Astros organization.
Coach Kight is in his 3rd season as the boy's basketball head coach at Bixby. He is from Owasso and was a college athlete at Coffeyville Community College and UCO.
Coach Schneider just wrapped up his 13th football season at Bixby High School. He played college ball at Southern Nazarene and made 32 career starts at quarterback for the Crimson Storm.
Jared graduated from BHS in 2007 and played college football at Oklahoma State. He now lives in Owasso and is raising four boys with his wife Lauren.
J.P. recently wrapped up his first season as the Bixby Head Softball Coach. He grew up in Heavener, Oklahoma, and has found a second career in education.
Connor is in his 3rd year as the Strength and Conditioning coach at Bixby High School. The native Oklahoman played college football at Weber State in Utah and participated in competitive taekwondo in his youth.
Shane is currently an assistant wrestling coach at Bixby High School. He won four state titles and was a three-time NCAA All-American at Oklahoma State.
Bixby volleyball head coach Derek Serowski is currently in the middle of his second season with the Spartans. He has an extensive volleyball background, but played college football at Colorado State and Oklahoma Baptist. Coach Serowski is a graduate of Southmoore High School.
T.J. is a former Bixby Spartan quarterback and 2012 BHS graduate who has parlayed his love of sports into a broadcasting career. He played college football at Central Oklahoma (UCO-D2 MIAA) and is currently the Sports Director at KTUL-TV NewsChannel 8 in Tulsa.
