Do you want to sing the song my voice? Yeah,
it's well offspring.
Speaker 4 (01:01):
Well man, how are you heading into this weekend's pay
per view?
Speaker 3 (01:04):
Man? Oh stiff, mate, proper stiff.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
I fill up, My hips are all locked up, but
I'm really a rock and roll in Philadelphia.
Speaker 4 (01:10):
Brother man, it is gonna be a hell of a show,
and let's just go ahead and dive right into it.
You're facing Kevin Knights, the newest acquisition to a w
and the Owenhart Foundations Men Tournament. How are you preparing
for this matchup and what challenges do you anticipate from him?
Speaker 3 (01:28):
I mean listen. I've been a fan of Kevin for ages.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
He was over in New Japan with us for a
long time, even though we never really touched hat, never
really touched in the ring. I always amind from a distance,
but like it when I teamed up with him a
little while ago, just to see the hops that he's got.
I mean, I must say he might even have a
better area offense than I do. So I'm gonna have
to try and bring the old guns out, like I
(01:50):
might have to go back to the junior heavyweight roots
if I can, but I'll try my best in that regard.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
But like, man, I'm super excited.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
Kevin has so much potential to being I wanted to
great stars in aw is great signing and like super
pump for him, super happy for him that he's with us.
So like I'm looking forward to like this crazy match,
but like I've got a mission, man, I've got a
mission statement to go to all in and main event
that boys, I'm looking forward to this, But Kevin Knight
is going to be in for a rough one.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
Mate.
Speaker 5 (02:18):
Nice with the Owen Cup tournament kicking off not too
long or excuse me with Dynasty, what does participating in
this tournament mean to you personally and professionally. I mean,
was Owen like a big influence for you personally?
Speaker 3 (02:33):
I mean he was a huge influence in wrestling full stop.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
I mean, like, I remember when I won the IWGP
Junior Heavyweight Championship, right It's one of the top things
I always wanted to do in my career.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
Had so much lineage and so much history behind it.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
And one of the coolest things about that belt is
when you put it on my lap and you can
see all the guys that held that championship beforehands and
right there it's name on the belt, and I was
just like, man, this is this is one of the
craziest things that I've got the same belt that like
one of the greatest wrestlers to have ever done, its
(03:10):
name is on this championship. I'd love to continue that
history as well by like attaching myself to that own
heart legacy as well by winning this. This is this
is a huge honor to be a part of this,
and I hope, okay do this. I hope I can
show off the best of my abilities and just to
(03:31):
give that championship more and more credibility by holding it.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
I had goosebumps for a little bit there.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
That's a good answer. Definitely, definitely good answer.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
Now I want to talk about this because recently you
had a still cage match against a I could say, well,
former friend Kyle Fletcher right at aw Revolution intense critically acclaimed.
I would say I would beat Meltzer's you know, star rating,
and we'd give it a twenty star. I don't know
if that's ever doable, but we're gonna give that do it.
(04:01):
How is that about impacted your mindset going into Dynasty
and all humbleness aside? Where do you rank it on
the list of greatest cage matches.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Of all time?
Speaker 3 (04:14):
Mate?
Speaker 1 (04:15):
I Jeery was thinking about it a little while ago, like,
I can't think of another cage match off the top
of my head that like done, the stunts done, the storytelling, done,
the drama as well as that. Like I mean, people
try to top it the next day and they couldn't.
Like I just could not believe the output and the
(04:36):
support that we got afterwards, and just how people just
thought it was one of the greatest steel cage matches ever.
I was super out of my depth with that one.
I won't lie to you guys at all like it.
It was crazy to be a part of that, and
I felt like a proper pro wrestler out there, Like,
I know it's the crypto dot com arena now, but.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
That's a Staples Center. Man. I felt like a pro
wrestler out there, so.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Part of and like like elevating himself the new highs.
It's definitely on the world. It's a comebo. It was
a crazy match to be a part of. The people
enjoyed it and like dhlight, you will give it twenty
go for it.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
Yeah you wrong. I was.
Speaker 5 (05:21):
I was showing the missus the entrance last night, and
when when you're a theme song hit and you're on
top of the cages and you're just doing this and
then Kyle's doing this. I mean the pictures that came
out of that, it reminded me of like some all
Japan stuff from like the eighties and stuff. I mean,
it was just poetic. I was just like, holy shit, So,
I mean just art on another level. Yeah, okay, So
(05:43):
now that you've gotten your lay of the land with AW,
you're kind of a vet in AW. Now at this point,
are there specific competitors you have not faced yet that
you've seen their work and like, okay, I got to
get in the ring with There are there any people
now you know that you want to tangle with a AW?
Speaker 1 (05:58):
So there was one that I generally because so one
of the ties I have with pro wrestling is that
AJ Styles is a huge influence in my wrestling. I've
loved his work ever since I remember watching him. And
there's someone in AW that I've never ever actually crossed
past with, but like has such a tie to him,
and I was thinking about it for so long. I
(06:19):
was like, you know what, I'd love to wrestle him,
samo Joe. I've never wrestled samo Joe. It's been one
of those things. Yeah, Like I've never wrestled him, never
crossed past with him, and I feel like that's someone
that has such a tie to him and knows AJ
so well.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
I think they're like best buds.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
And just to be able to be like, you know what,
like I want to feel that I want to be tested,
I want to be like pushed to my limits.
Speaker 3 (06:42):
That that's something that I would love to do.
Speaker 5 (06:45):
That's I just got Jill once again. I don't know
how that match hasn't happened.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
Yeah, and I gotta say, like, it seems like Samoa
Joe has a target on his back because we recently
had Brian Keith on. We asked him kind of the
same question. He was like, Samoa Joe, that's who I want.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
So I mean, let's Brian.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
I mean I think I think what we need to
happen is we get Will versus Samoa, then we get
Brian Keith versus Samoa, and then we have a triple
threat of Brian Will and Samoa Joe.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
That's something crazy I was booking, but I'm up for it. Now.
Speaker 4 (07:22):
We we haven't figured out what the stipulations of the
match is going to be. We're just gonna figure out
that we're eventually going to get to a triple threat.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
Maybe it's uh, maybe we go back to London. Maybe
it's the main event.
Speaker 4 (07:32):
Maybe it's for the aw World Heavyweight Championship, and Will
Osprey uh becomes victorious at the end of it.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Is that that's what we're gonna put out there.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
In the universe. Booking me strong that boys, I appreciate it.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
That's I mean, we're big fans of you on the show,
and it's glad to have you on here. So, uh,
you know, let's let's talk about this because a lot.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
Of people have still talked about this match to this day.
Speaker 4 (07:55):
Your match against Brian Danielson at last year's Dynasty highly acclaimed.
How do you reflect on that experience as you prepare
for this year's event?
Speaker 1 (08:07):
Mate, that Brian Danielson match, I will never be able
to put into words what I.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
Was feeling that. I remember looking at him in the.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
Eyes before the bell rung and everyone was like doing
the holy shit chance. I was like, oh man, this
is incredible, and I remember looking at him and just going, sir,
this is going to be a pleasure. And when you
like backed up and then the bell rung and I
was just like it was mad, Like that was like
my first month, I think, you know, a wright. So
now I've got the rhythm down and I understand what
(08:37):
i need to do, and I understand that the landscape
and the foot is constantly on the gas pedal here.
So for me, now this is about I've done the route.
I've done the lapse, I've done the reps now and
I feel like this is the route that I want
to take to becoming aw world champion.
Speaker 5 (08:54):
Awesome, awesome, answer. So Ricochet has really got and some
acclaim recently for his his new work. There just from
a from an artistic standpoint, what have you thought about
this new version of him?
Speaker 1 (09:09):
So the one thing I said this for ages now, right,
A lot of people always said Ricochet's main attribute and
biggest strength in wrestling was his aerial athleticism.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
And it really is.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
It is the greatest, But he's his main thing that
I always said is like the way that he's able
to make other people look good was was crazy.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
Right.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
So now being this character and being this like despisable nerd,
like that does everyone wants to see get his ask
k it.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
That's always been his greatest, greatest skill.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
So like now it's like every time he gets his
ass handed to him, it means something so much more now.
And I feel like I got saw it a little
bit when we worked on the indies together because he
was allowed to be like a little bit of a dickhead.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
But like when he was in the other company, he
was just.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
He just was just go out do some tricks, Go
out do some tricks, go out do some tricks. He
was never allowed to show anything other than just that.
So now he's been able to showcase that a little
bit more. I think that's the call is bit about
aw that he he left the other place and came
here with the attitude of I want to come here
and I want to change and I want to adapt.
And because he's done that, I feel like he's up
(10:25):
these value he's up to his he's up these sock
in the short time that he's.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
Been here already.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
Like I can only imagine when we're here at like
year three or year five with him and like he's like,
now you can actually see this guy as a world champion, right.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Yeah, And that's gonna be some fun stuff to see.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
I mean, we're predicting your future obviously, now you're predicting
Ricochet's future. So we're all just predicting futures on him.
One thing that that has been fun to watch is
I scrolled through social.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
Media and uh, you know, every other video, I'll see.
Speaker 4 (10:59):
Something, but a video keeps popping up in my feed
from a fans point of view. Recently at the I
want to say it was the Knoxville Show where you
did the flip off the balcony and I was sitting
there and I watched it in person. I was like,
oh my god, this is the greatest thing ever. And
then I scrolled through social media and there's somebody filming
(11:19):
from their phone as you're climbing up and you're like
waving to them, and then.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
You're like, all right, gotta go, and then you get
a flip.
Speaker 4 (11:26):
What's going through your mind dur in that spot, like obviously, hey,
don't fall, but.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
Yeah, Mike, you're telling me, letting me out.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
So as I got up there, I then noticed I
was like, oh, like, I didn't really map it out
in my head, like of just being like oh like,
because I've done like a moon start off of like
balconies before. But the one that sticks in my mind
is when I was doing progress wrestling and I backflipped
off the electric ballom balcony and when I was up
there this time, so like I got up there and
(11:57):
my handslips because Kyle has like so much body all
over him, so like I was slipped and some guy
was like so like, I thought, like I'll grab him,
and everyone was like, oh, look at h me shaking
people's hand. I was like, I mean, I am, but
I'm also cleaning onto far fucking life here, so I'm
like trying to pull myself up. And I'm pulling myself
up and I look back at Kenny. I give him
(12:17):
the thumbs up, and I'll go like, yeah, we're doing it.
I even got my phone, so I was like, look
at I was like, oh, crap, I haven't got my friend.
As I put one foot up, There's a girl right
in front of me, and I'm using her as like
a balance scheme, and I'm like there and we be
locking eyes and We're like here with one another, right,
And I'm looking at this girl in the arm.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
I'm like, are we going to kiss?
Speaker 1 (12:36):
Uh? Like I'm there and it could be like it
could be an incredible love story of like how I
met your mother, right, and then all of a sudden,
I just go see you and I just leave this
person for the rest of my life. So we there's
somewhere someone out there who are like lot guys with
and I was just kind of like, I'm about to
like jump to my death here loves, but like, thank
you very much for helping me.
Speaker 5 (12:57):
Yeah, shared a moment there.
Speaker 4 (12:59):
Wow, Like the next Hallmark Christmas movie, It's a wrestling
love story.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
That's what it's gonna be, right, I.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
Know you've got a busy time because you've got to
get prepared for this week, and I know we don't
have much time left. And at the end of the show,
we always like to have a little fun and kind
of break away from the wrestling talks.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
And we've got a music question in a video.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
Game question, because obviously we could tell big video game
guy just by looking at your jacket. But the music
question that we have if we were to look at
will Osprey's music playlist and we were to scroll through,
what is the one song on there that people would
be surprised and say, will Osprey listens to that?
Speaker 1 (13:36):
Uh, Morgan Weller, I listen to country music quite a
lot now, Like I'll be on there's a song in there.
I think it's called Chasing You, and I put it
on like I put it on. My mean missus are
like cooking some meals and stuff like that. But I
regularly find myself just holding in my arms and have
a little slowed answer for quite quite a lot. So
I'm a big country music guy now, Like so there's that,
(13:58):
I'll be honest with you.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
In my music that I really love is like disco music.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
I flipping love Discoe Purple Disco Machine just puts me
in a good mood all the time.
Speaker 4 (14:08):
Solid Solid plays right there. And then Morgan Wallen's got
a new album coming out. I think it's got I
think the last I heard was like either thirty two
or thirty seven songs on this new album that's coming out.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
So yeah, it is.
Speaker 5 (14:23):
So as far as we know, you're a huge, massive
Assassin's Creed guy. What would you say are the three
most underrated titles in the Assassin's Creed library? And it
can be under any format.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
That you want, underrated titles.
Speaker 5 (14:38):
Games, whatever you want a classic.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
I mean, like I liked Syndicate.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
I know a lot of people a little bit like
mad about it, but I like Syndicate just because it
was close to home and like in school we learned
about like Jack the Ripper and that era of so
like to see they like twisted history to like fit
Jack Ripper in is like he used to be an assassin.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
I love that. I like underrated.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
I'd say Brotherhood was like a second one that I
really dove, and Revelations was the other one.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
I like Brotherhood and Revelations because they were the ones
that like really poked my interest in Assassin's Creed.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
Solid Choices right there.
Speaker 4 (15:18):
Well, well, we don't want to take up too much
your time. I know you got some other things to
do before you get ready for the big match on Sunday.
So before we let you go, anything you want to
say to people watching or listening to this right now?
Speaker 3 (15:29):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (15:29):
Man, Look, there's a thousand tickets left for this Sunday.
We're at the Leo Chorus Center. We are a thousand
tickets away. It's proper ramd in there though, so we're
like ninety percent sold is awtix dot com. So if
there's anyone that is around the Philadelphia area and there's
what fancies going to the best pro wrestling on the planet,
I definitely say it's worth your time, it's worth your money.
(15:51):
So I would love for you guys to come down
and support the company because a lot of people don't want.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
To see AW succeed. I do.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
I love the fact that there is an alternative in
pro wrestling right now. I love the fact that I
get to do this dream job. I love that I
get to meet so many passionate wrestling fans that just
want to show out to good wrestling shows and support
US
