(00:00):
It is Booker and Striker. Itis all ninety eight seven, and there's
a big show tonight in the iHeartRadioTheater. Striker will host it and probably
screw it up, probably, Butthe stars of this show tonight, well
that would be Brad and Matt fromthis band Cage Ye. Yeah, guys,
guys, guys, got nice tosee you. Guys, good to
see you. You're up all right, So you're just more short hours from

(00:24):
now, you're going to be playingsome of your new songs. I believe
for the very first time in frontof people. This is true. Yeah,
how ready is the band for this? I feel pretty good about it.
We actually don't suck, so yeah. Actually, like when we were
practicing after the shows, God,this guy sucked. When we were practicing,

(00:46):
we we like it sounded like abasement band first. Well, yeah,
like you know, just regoing.I was like, oh, all
right, we're in the basement manstage. And then we'd be like,
all right, now we're in thebar bands. Dad. Oh god,
it's been for two years since you'vedone a show at least, yeah,
since November twenty twenty two was thelast show. The new album is coming

(01:10):
out next Friday. You heard it. Oh, yes, okay, I
don't know the album, so thisis kind of fun. Does it suck?
Is it great? Like us?About? Well? I don't know
what, boy, I'll give itup. I felt like no one listened
to me while we made this record. I mean, you been so good.

(01:32):
You can't say it's too good oryou look like a you know,
like a conceited You can't say toobad because you want people to like it.
One masterpiece, master piece. I'mgonna go with seven point eight.
Yeah, okay, okay, Iknow pretty good about it. Yeah,
yeah, I feel I mean it'slike I feel like it's a it's an

(01:53):
honest uh interpretation of where we werewhile we were writing the record. Yeah.
One more QUI question about music andyou know, making it in singles
and all of this stuff. Myfavorite thing about your band is there are
no two singles that ever sound thesame. Do you guys ever trash things
because you're like, oh that's tooneon pill, that's too no time.

(02:15):
Other reasons for sure, though,But honestly, we're but we've been a
band that we rarely there's been maybea song or two left off records,
but we usually write a record towhat it is. Oh yeah, for
sure. Whenever we start writing asong, we write it to finish it.
For sure. I thought you're aboutto say the favorite My favorite thing
about Eule's band is the time thatyou had off. That rest was well

(02:38):
needed, Matt, I have aquestion, said how quiet it was without
you guys around? Boy, wewere doing well in life. Yeah.
Are there songs that you thought wereawesome but they didn't fit the tone of
the full record and they're sitting somewhere. There was one track that originally super

(03:00):
stoked about, but for whatever reason, it didn't happen. And that happens
on just about every album. Butgosh, I can't remember the name of
it. That's why I'm totally makingit up. I'm like, no,
no, there was it one time. I'll tell you this. On Thank
You Having Birthday, there was asong called carry me again, Oh car,

(03:20):
carry me in? Sorry again.I can't remember. That's why we
dropped it. But anyways, tothis day, my wife is like,
should have never left that track?Yeah, I know there are some stress
like that, for sure. Inever got the hole it doesn't fit on
the album thing. I mean, every song sounds different to me, like,
what does that even mean? Idon't know, it's just what management
told me. Honesty, KG Elephantwith Booker and Striker. If you're just

(03:45):
duning against Striker, listen, Iwas in a band for forty years.
We're almost in the rock and RollHall of Fame. And when I would
meet with my bandmates, at leastin our own heads, there would be
a theme because we'd be going throughcertain things. So we can't be riding
about riding bikes and ice cream whenit's it's a good song, but I'm
going through this other s. Isthat right or wrong? Yeah? For
sure. I mean it's definitely basedon what's happening in life. I mean,

(04:08):
most of our songs are very heavilyconnected with our personal experiences. We're
not like I love when artists canwrite fictional songs about other people. I
think that's an amazing gift, butit's not really. We never really have
like as far as the music goes, we never have a theme that we
were like, you know, wewant to make a heavy record or whatever.

(04:29):
We just kind of Actually, Iwas if there was one thing that
I that I was would have likedto write more on this album, was
heavy. So the next album isgoing to be a metal record first,
Yeah, rattle the cage the metal. Actually, my daughter's playing softball.
My wife does their walk up musicand she's and so so she's like,

(04:53):
she's like, she's like, shewas picking her walk up music and I
was like, I was like, you don't want to do this song and
I put on She's like, nogood And I was like, I was
like, I'm gonna play that oneinstead of your walk up song. She
was terrified. I did not.We do this on Booker and Striker.
Every band hates it. For therecord, we can depeche Mode Killer to

(05:16):
Pilot's muse hated it, ragged onit, which is why we like doing
it, and we continue with it. We we get three songs of yours,
probably the biggest crowd finges we likethe most, the ones that your
fans like the most, usually theones you have to close with, and
we eliminate one of them. Sothe three songs we've chosen her what we're
gonna go Social cues, ain't norest for the wicked, Cigarette daydreams one

(05:42):
Musco you have to track. Idon't hate that, I mean I don't.
It's not like, it's not likeI hate that song. I don't,
but it's definitely the least developed songout of all the songs that we
written. So but even when yousee all those people get into it,

(06:02):
you still are like, screw it, it's out. We flip the script
on you. Old. Yeah,I honestly didn't see an answer coming so
quickly. I know band's him andHaw and they get said we could cut
it from the set. So sorry. Yeah. Tonight on the radio seven

(06:23):
o'clock, Striker will be your hosttonight, KG Elephant discussing their new album
Neo Pill. Great new song,by the way, we should mention that,
yes, we're gonna play that herein a second. And also there's
another song on the album that's calledRainbow. Are you gonna be playing Rainbow
tonight? Yeah? Well, okay, can you just give us just twenty
seconds on it so when people arelistening or watching they can hear Rainbow was
one of those special songs that happenedpretty instantaneously. Yeah, it's always an

(06:49):
extreme blessing whenever you sit down andwhatever you're going through is strong enough to
come into shape of a song. And I don't it worked. It sounds
good. I like it. Idon't know what to say. Where does
it. In terms of the favoriteof the new songs right now, it's
definitely my favorite track on the albumfor sure. Rainbows, KG Elephant on

(07:10):
Booker and Striker and again on yourRadio tonight at seven o'clock and of course
on the Guy Heard Radio app aswell. Guys, thank you for popping
up for a couple of minutes.Yeah man, remember because of you all
were not playing. Ain't arrest yeahno, hold on, no, no,
no man, we are. I'mjoking. It is all ninety eighty seven.
