Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's very rare, very rare, very very rare that I
would just open up a microphone and call for the
firing of someone, a loss of livelihood for someone. But
that's exactly what's going to happen today, and I have
a feeling you're going to have a few opinions on it.
So again, a two to one WTV and is the number.
(00:23):
There's a pretty good chance you will want to use that. Also,
if I get a chance before I get out of here.
All the lefties that were up in arms over Donald
Trump tease, and he was teasing about a third term,
I have a feeling, just a feeling, mind you, that
(00:44):
some of them may be changing their minds in the
very near future. Not because of the possibility of a
Donald Trump third term, because we know he's too old.
He knows he's too old, because the abolishing of the
twenty second Amendment that prohibits such things from happening. Perhaps
(01:10):
they found a way where that can work to their advantage.
I'm just saying I will explain that to you before
we get out of here, if I have the opportunity. Now,
who do I think should be fired? The principal at
Columbus City school's Ridgeview Middle School. I also I wouldn't
(01:34):
disagree with the possibility of some disciplinary action toward the
secretary at Ridgeview Middle School. This incident happened all the
way back in March. I don't know why we're just
hearing about it. Frankly, if I were a part of
the City of Columbus, the Department of Public Safety, the
(01:58):
Columbus Police Department, I think I would have brought this
out quickly because this is an affront to common sense.
March thirteenth was the date when Columbus Police responded to
Ridgeview Middle School. They weren't there to see what was
(02:19):
on the menu for lunch that day. They were there
because of a potential threat to the students, to the school,
to the staff, to the faculty in the way of
a bomb bomb bomb. What the police officer encountered in
arriving at the school. We can begin with the word
(02:44):
ridiculous and elaborate from there. Both B and s apply
to this story. Speaking of B and s, I've got
FOP Lodge number nine President Brian Steel standing by right now. Brian, this.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
You know what I mean, Chuck, Thanks for having me brother.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
This is just stupid, man. This, and she should be fired.
If she has not been fired, this principle should be fired.
When your bias, when your Karen card gets in the
way of the common sense element of protecting the students
in that school, you have no place in that school
as far as I'm concerned.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
Yeah, it's trouble. Remember the school called the officers these comments,
division of police officers. They're responding to a call to service,
a bomb threat from the school. And it's my understanding
talking to these officers, this isn't the first interaction they
had with this specific principle.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
At this school, and there was the body cam was running,
So I mean, there's no doubt as to the way
that the officer was treated in the way the situation
was handled. Winning ride.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Yeah, and that's that's exactly right. So, I mean, so
just a couple of things here. The main concern here,
obviously for our members, is her behavior appeared hot stolen.
I asked a question, does she have some kind of
inputs to bias, some kind of disdain. If so, why
she was very alarming. She kept repeating herself saying, district protocol,
(04:11):
district protocol hinders these officers from coming. I simply don't
buy that I wrote a statement. I myself has responded
to dozens of runs to schools. Our officers every day
respond to runs for schools. We have a great relationship
with the faculty, the staff, the janitors, the students, the principles.
Most likely this is an outlier, and I hope the
school board and the superintendent just look into it.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
And the principle continued to say that she is adhering
to Columbus City Schools protocols. You address the superintendent of
the schools and got back basically a half assed reply
from the schools taking no stand, not citing any specific
protocols or anything else. What exactly did the school superintendent
had to say?
Speaker 2 (04:52):
So I have not got a reply back from the
school superintendent. I will give her some grace. I'll tell
you anytime I send a letter, I email letter and
I send one by mail. The email goes to a
generic email, so I cannot tell you if she got
it or not. I know there was some kind of
statement that they were going to work with the Division
of Police, which is great. So again, I'll give the
(05:13):
superintendent some time, and I hope, I hope that she
replies to email all I'm looking for her to say,
is hey, we acknowledge you FOP and we are looking
into them.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
You know, don't want to divert from the main issue here.
But that's also stupid, Brian. Look, you're the superintendent of
the school, you're the president of the city council, you're
the mayor of the city. You're the chief of police,
you're the FOP president. You're the head of Department of
Public Safety, you're the chief of the fire department. Whatever.
You guys should all have direct communications with one another.
(05:44):
Sending to a generic email. I'm sorry, but the police department,
the FOP should not be relegated to some generic email
and hope they get a response.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Yeah, so listen, I'm not going to disagree. I think
any elected official, any public official, you should have direct access.
Some individuals are more hard to get to any others.
I applaud anybody that has their email out there. You
can go right to FLP dot org. You'll get my
email be steal at FLP nine dot org and my
direct phone call. And I give myself phone out to everybody,
and I could just focus on myself. I'm always available.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
I'm not hard to find now again, this officer showed
up at the school and with the body came running.
You can hear what the principal is say and at
one point says, I personally do not feel comfortable even
speaking to you because of the way you do not
have my safety in mind. What I can't even translate
that intoto basic sense. What do you have any idea
(06:39):
what she was implying there? Have you? Has this woman
been arrested, has she been handcuffed at the side of
the road for duy has What experience does she have
with the police department that would lead her to say,
I don't I don't believe you have my safety.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
In mind, So that that's interesting to say that. And
I say this not not to be rumor spread or
not to be the gossip queen. I leave as you know, Chuck, transparency, accountability.
If you're a public official, there's no more transparency you
could be than what we put out there, and you
have to be A quick search showed two years ago
(07:12):
she was arrested by the Columbus Division of Police for
assault in domestic violence. She was arrested, she was taken
to jail, so clearly her past two years ago, she
clearly has a disdain for law enforcement and that came
through that day. So again, this is all public record.
She's a government employee. I see no need to hide that.
I don't know for a fact is that why she
(07:32):
acted it that day, but my experience says that's probably why.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
Is the FOP going to pursue this any further than
just asking for clarification on Columbus City Schools policies and protocols.
I mean, are is any sort of repercussion within the
purview of what you do as a president or do
you just bring it to light and let them handle
it and accept what comes down.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
So it's going to be a wait and see. I'm
going to give them time to come back. If they
come back, if this well work comes back and says
even though she did this, even though she blatantly lied,
she said, there's a policy and windows policy. We're not
going to do anything about it. Then all we could
do is ask again, hey, can you review this again?
Could you look into this? I mean, there's almost so
much we could do. Uh, there's a there's a famous
(08:16):
saying that I love that that labor succeeds when management fails.
I'm ultimately going to let CPD try to try to
run with this and be the ones to try to
figure this out. But we would love to sit down
and be a part of that meeting. All we want
to make sure is this doesn't happen again again. I
think this is an outlier. My experience, my members experience
with the school from the I'll say, the rank and
(08:38):
file of the school have been nothing but positive.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
I'm I'm very dessertive. Maybe it's because you know, I've
raised my kids, I've got grandkids in schools, and you know,
last week we had a statement from the superintendent about
addressing children by their birth names, and so this is
way bigger than that crap. I mean, this is this
is something where if something God forbid would have actually happened,
(09:04):
if there was actually an explosive device, if children were
actually harmed or killed, this principle should have been on
the hook for a criminally negligent homicide or something. You
are causing that by your own bias, your own ridiculous fears.
When a public servant comes to the door to bring
assistance of some sort, you don't turn them away because
(09:27):
you're not comfortable with them. It's just it's a sad
statement on where we are these days.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
Yeah, and everything you said you hit that, you hit
the nail on the head. Listen as the FOP, as
the president, I don't get involved in what books are
in a library. I don't get involved in what pronouns
you're doing. That's not my problem. What I worried about
is the safety of the kids, the safety of the
community we serve, and the safety of our officers. And again,
this individual had no authority to hinder an obstruct an
officer in the performance of his duties. And I thought
(09:55):
the officer did a good job. He could have probably
walked her out there in handcuffs and he wouldn't be wrong.
But again he ended up leaving, and they sent it
up the chain of command. I hope the chain of command,
the chief of police, will look into this and take
care of it. I have faith and superintendent until I
lose faith. So right now I'm really hoping I get
a letter back and they're going to look into this
and hold this public official accountable.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
This officer really should get a rib in our medal
or something. Really, he maintained himself far better than I.
There's no way I could have dealt with that ridiculousness
without losing my cool, and he held himself together. So
my commendations to him, if you ever run across him,
pass that all.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
I will I will tell go ahead absolutely, no I
say this. Our officers deal with this all the time.
It's just ironic. The individuals will call the police and
we get there and all of a sudden, we're the
ones they're giving grief to or yelling at. It's like
you called me, if you don't like the police, why'd
you even call me in the first place. But again,
we're always going to respond. We're going to do the
best job we can and we're going to try to
(10:57):
make sure everybody leaves safe. And then they did at
the end of the day. And thankfully this was on
this one time. This was a threat that was false.
It was a student, and that student's probably gonna go
through a disciplinary process.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
I would hope before before I say goodbye to you,
anything good going on with the FOP with our Columbus
Police officers. We should know.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
About tomorrow five thirty. We're gonna FLP's get to present
the check. And we talked about this to the White
Hole Girl Scout Troupe. They fell short despite their cookie
sale efforts, so we're gonna go ahead and fill that gap.
Our FOP members are our mental women of the Charnard Police.
They dug deep in our pockets. So I'm happy to
say these little girls will be going to Disney World,
(11:36):
So that's outstanding. We need some chaperones, Chuck, if you
want to come, you want to bring Blazer with us,
let's go down there.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
Okay, Well, Blazer and I are kind of like animated characters,
so we might fit right in at Disney.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
Yeah, go to dress you up as Goofy and him
is Daisy.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
Always good to hear from you, Brian Steele, and keep
me up to date on this thing man, as it
transpires and develops positively or negatively, because I don't want
to let this go this this Our children have too
many risks, too many fears, too many dangers in the
world today. Your school principal should not be one of them.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
Yeah, hey man, brother, thank you for all you do.
