Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is deeper in the din with dangerous d Well,
if you stood around while CBS is printing out your
three mile long receipt and saying, come on, you're killing me,
well maybe now, maybe that's true. Literally, health researchers say
the thermal paper receipts often have high levels of a
forever chemical in them called biz phenol s or BPS,

(00:22):
similar to BPA, which is plastics. But you've seen things
labeled BPA free. BPS is in receipts and it's hormone
disrupting mimics. Estrogen can throw off your normal function of
your body, including metabolism, growth, development, and reproduction. Now the
chemical can be absorbed through the skin when handling receipt paper. Supposedly,

(00:42):
BPS laced receipts for just ten seconds could have a
serious health consequence. So in a serious concern or is
it just the fleeting internet concern? It's hard to say.
This is not a new discovery. Scientists have been researching
the harmful effects of BPS for a while. In twenty
twenty one, German researchers warned that it could have serious
damage to human brains after studying its effect on goldfish,

(01:04):
and it was known that BPS was in thermal paper receipts.
They're not recyclable, by the way, and that's true. News
now is coming from the Center for Environmental Health. They
conducted a study found that many retailers are using thermal
receipts with high levels of BPS. They're planning to sue
retailers who continue with these and not providing clear warnings
on the receipts. If you're an employee who handles receipts,

(01:26):
they suggest using gloves. Wow. There's also they're telling consumers
to decline paper receipts whenever possible, have them email to you.
A lot of times we'll decline them, but sometimes there's
stores that check them at the door. And I really
don't want to be paging through my phone trying to
find that. I don't know what pictures are going to
see in the two you remember passing gas in fifth grade?

(01:47):
I ask, because that's when we learn the lessons that
some things we think is funny, but women are mortified. Pie.
So there's a list online. This comes from Redded of
things that women find embarrassing but men don't care about.
Some of the best ones on the list include people
seeing your house not being perfectly cleaned. I agree with
that one. Sneezing naturally, several ladies just hold those sneezes

(02:10):
in farts and burps. The driver's license photo re wearing
the same outfit, being at a party where somebody else
is wearing the same outfit, or anything fashion related. Pretty
much acting flares up. Some things women get really embarrassed
by and men just don't care. Scars, stretch marks, cellulate
tummy pouches, bellies in general, eating a lot, finishing your plate,

(02:30):
eating in front of people in certain cases, body hair,
going to celebrations without a gift for the host. And
maybe men should put a little more thought into the
social gestures like that, by the way, audible toilet noises
and small boobs, asymmetrical sagging things. You know, some guys
do care about these things, But all of the positive
entries added on the list seems like maybe sometimes we

(02:53):
should just not be so embarrassed there. Maybe we are
and we're just not admitting it in some cases. Another
