Speaker 1 (00:00):
Here on the show, we're talking to you about all
sorts of stuff that you need to keep an eye
on that includes your home and here to talk with
us a bit more for my very good friends over
at Artists and Roofing, my friend Josh Connor. Josh, thanks
so much for being in the studio with me today.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Thank you for inviting. This is exciting.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Yeah, well, I got to tell you, man, the idea
of I have Facebook memories on and I look and
I am getting very close to the time last year
where I was in this studio for like five straight
hours wall to wall talking about tornadoes and windstorms and

(00:36):
hail and devastating communities around the Omaha area and what
people you know were just like devastated by this. And
it was late April last year. And I'm so glad
to have you on to talk about this because this
is the time of the year. We need to start
thinking about this before it actually comes. And all of
a sudden, You're like, who do I call to help
fix my areas? So can you talk to me about

(00:58):
last year and in what a storm season is for
people like you guys over at Artisan Roofing.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
No, absolutely, if anything, Gosh, last year was one for
the record books really when it came to just storm damage. Overall,
We've had our hailstorms, We've had our massive maps that
have gone through you know, we've had those moments. But
to have a tornado de racho, hail, hail, hail, and
just so many neighborhoods are like, you know what, I'm

(01:26):
not going to file the claim right now because I
just had two storms save my neighborhood, right. I mean, gosh,
people are still licking their wounds from last year. I
mean if you go out to you know, uh An
Oakcorn on the very west side of Maple, there are
still homes still destroyed that I've yet to be rebuilt.
And I know, speaking with the with insurance carrying a
public adjuster, like there there are people that still have

(01:46):
yet to have their home rebuilt. So it's people are
still dealing with devastation. You know, I'm still dealing with
clients out in Mind and Iowa they got destroyed by Yeah.
So it's just right now. The it was, it was
one for the record books, and it was more so
people think, oh wow, really good for you, Like no,
it's terrible for the people. And overall they kind of

(02:07):
like put a giant hiccup in our sop in our
center order procedure, because what do we do with multiple
storms throughout different areas of the metro area and you know,
just tending to all the customers while still delivering customer
centric service.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Okay, so Artisan Roofing i NC dot com is where
people can go to the website. And I bring that
up because there are people, like you said, that may
still be sitting on kind of a claim or something
that happened. How does that process kind of work because
I know that you guys are there to help fix
problems and you want to keep people from having the

(02:43):
roof leak or their exteriors having you know, a hole
in it. You want to make sure you have full coverage.
But at the same time, there are people out there.
The insurance is a big piece of that puzzle. So
how does the process generally work for people out there
who do have damage that they definitely need a professional
look at.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
No, absolutely so. So I mean if you've been putting
it off, you know, and there's gonna be door knockers,
gonna be all sorts of people out there still trying
to help. But if you're putting off. Now's the time,
you know, just get it. Opinions are free and they
should be free, you know, but you know, give us
reach out to us well out there and give you
a free inspection, like you know, whether or not you
have enough damage based off of your carrier and the

(03:19):
type of policy that you have as well. So I
wouldn't wait for it because if another storm comes through,
now they're gonna say, hey, they're gonna deem that as
the old damage and now you're looking at possibly two deductibles,
you know. So we've seen all sorts of horror stories
from last year that have impacted so many. But no,
I would recommend if you haven't filed the claim er

(03:40):
at least got a free inspection. Get the free inspection
done first before filing the claim. You know, make sure
it's worth your time, the carrier's time, and overall the
person you're gonna work with. So highly recommend getting that
done and getting out of the way.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
We're speaking with Josh Connor. He's with artists and roofing
here in the Omaha area to take great care of
the people. Tell me all the different things that you
guys do because arson roofing, I can picture you guys
working on people's roof but I know that you guys
do a lot more than that.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
Is No, absolutely are more than roofing. Heck, it's it's
all of it. We do general contracting work, so we
have I have a Class B A license, so we're
able to build from the ground up. And due to
the windstorms and the tornadoes that we've had, we've had
to do a lot of framing work and you know
we're working with the city submitting blueprints, engineer, SAMs, you
name it. But no, we do more than roofing. So

(04:28):
if a customer wants to extend their patio, or they
had the entire garage destroyed, or they're home destroyed, we're
there to help absolutely from from bottom to the top.
So we do more than roofing.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
I know that one thing that you guys pride yourselves on,
and you see that on your website, is that everybody
with their needs is something you take. It's equal in
your eyes. Right. You know a lot of contractors and
a lot of people who are roofers. If you're doing
a full on replacement, hey we're here for you, help
us out. Some people are just like I just need
somebody to take a look up here, maybe a little

(05:00):
of a repair. You're gonna be down on the priority
list for a lot of people. But that's not really
the approach that you guys take.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
Absolutely no, yeah, no, I tell my guys all the
time too, like we we value repairs as much as
we value replacements. I mean I ran into a gentleman
at the bank the other day and he had five
roofers come even one from his church. So I completely
like didn't call him back, and he had a hole
in his roof from last year. Boom, got the repair done,

(05:25):
wasn't a full replacement, and he was forever thankful, you know.
So absolutely we value repairs as much as we value replacements,
you know, because we know what that's also gonna build.
It's gonna build refeerral, it's gonna build trust and overall
shows the client that we care at the end of
the day. So absolutely, yeah, we care.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
Yeah, And I gotta tell you that peace of mind,
I think is one thing. I don't think about my roof.
I don't think about my signing that much until you
know it's like, oh I got a a little bit
of a problem here, what would be some signs that
people might notice that their roof, for their siding, or
any part of their structural integrity of the property, any

(06:02):
issues that it might have that they should give artisan
roofing a call to, you know, take a look before
it gets to the point where, oh I got a
hole in my roof.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Right obviously, keep looking up in the ceiling. That's the
biggest thing. Sometimes people forget like how long has that
spot been there? Even me as a homeowner. I mean
I told my wife like how long has that been there?
You know, So it happens. Look up and if you're
walking around your property, like look at the downspolls, look
at the soft metals. If the soft metals are damage,
there's a good chance your roof might be damaged as well.
And your sideing is going to tell the story. But

(06:33):
at the end of theayough too, it's like you know,
we you know, there are some areas that didn't get
hit as bad. You know, the metals really didn't get
hit damage. But if you go up on the roof,
it is damaged. So it's just the best thing is
just call it in, you know, just to see see
if there is anything we'll give, you know, photo reports
we'll show you the whole nine, you know, just tey like, hey,
we're transparent. You don't need to follow a claim. Here's

(06:53):
a repair.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Yeah, you know.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
But the biggest thing that people can do even now,
you know, months after the storms, is just look at
the metals. Look at the soft metals. If you see it,
like at the dimples, the dance, like if they matched
your hood of your car, they got damage, have someone
come take a look. We'll come take a look for
you for free.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
Really awesome Artisan Roofing i NC dot com is the website,
by the way for artisan roofing. Speaking with Josh Connor here.
So let's talk about the process of that as well.
For somebody who's you know, I'm not sure about exactly
how much damage. I do think it's important for somebody
to take a look at this just so I feel
better about what's going on on my property. What would

(07:31):
be the way that they would get in contact with
you guys, and then how quickly you'd be able to
go and help them out and then determine whether or
not the next steps need to be taken.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
Absolutely, they can reach us on our website. They can
get ahold of us at four h two six seven
six five two zero seven, But yeah, Artisan Roofing dot
Com and set up your appointment. We have an amazing
sp that puts every client in Q and so therefore
we're able to track every single one of them that
comes in through the website. But the just the whole

(08:00):
step process is, you know, get a hold of us,
let's do the inspection, see if it's even worthy of
the actually getting calling in for a claim. Because that's
the biggest thing though, too, is that you'll have people
that just say, yeah, go right, had put the claim
and put the claim and put the claim in right,
you didn't ask the right questions. You didn't ask what
the customer's deductible is. You didn't ask you know, like
what type of insurance care do they have? Because every

(08:20):
one of them is different from the rest. So as
far as that, we try to make it very simple
for the homeowner because those that have filled multiple claims,
they know the whole rigorm moron, are like, yeah, just
let's get it going. But then people that don't know
what they're doing, they're by far intimidated from the process.
So more so than anything else, we just try to
make sure we welcome the home owner let them know like, Hey,

(08:42):
this is how we're going to do this. Before we
even hop up on the roof, we're going to assess
and we're going to discuss together and if you need help,
file on the claim right there and then we'll walk
you through those steps.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
Love that. It's a really good way to learn about
what's going on with your property and know that people
who know what they're doing aren't going to try to
upsell you on something you don't need or tell you
to rush into a claim. They really want you to
be taken care of however you need. So Artistan roofingi Inc.
Dot com. It's Artisan Roofinginc. Dot com. Josh the entire
gang are going to be there able to help you
out anything that you want to tell the people before

(09:12):
you sign off to today here at josh oh I guess.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
Every don't have anything fun to say, but no, like,
just reach out to us. We're we're excited to be
a part of the community. We're excited to help. We're
a family owned business. You know, this is the stuff
that provides for my family and the other people that I'm.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
In charge of.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
So at the end of the day, we're a transparent company,
and we're a company that's family owned.

Speaker 1 (09:32):

or whatever. You guys are Omaha all the way through.
