Top notch sports talk you'll love fromtwo guys you know him love. Welcome
to the chop Talk Podcast. Welcometo the chop Talk Podcast in conjunction with
(00:25):
Fox Sports Wheeling. Corey Clue herewith you. Chris Thoburn back in the
studio with me this week, andnot a moment too soon, because it's
a pretty big day if you area football pick, if you're a football
fan. The NFL Draft begins tonightwith Round one. Of course, rounds
two through three tomorrow, the restof the rounds on Saturday. But pretty
big day right here, since itis the first round. We'll give you
our predictions later on in the episode, pretty much all the first round picks,
(00:49):
plus the Steelers pick at thirty two, just because I want an even
numbers. So we'll get to thosehere in a matter of minutes. But
first, I knew this happened lastweek. I meant to address it,
but I wanted to make sure Chriswas in the studio to address it as
well. So, of course, the big news for Pittsburgh Penguins fans,
the news that you wanted to hear. I was very surprised that it happened
(01:10):
as quickly as it did, butit did happen. Ron Hextall, along
with quite a few others in thefront office getting the ax, Yeah,
you out on the playoffs. That'sbeen there for what sixteen seasons in a
row, and then they miss out. Something's got to change their Corey,
because it's a tradition of winning.Winning is expected when you wear the jersey
(01:30):
of the Pittsburgh Penguins, or ifyou wear that name on your title GM
of the Pittsburgh Penguins, whatever,it is, good move there by Mario
in the ownership group. Time toget some new blood in there. And
that's the thing. I was kindof scared that they were gonna kind of
take a few days to think aboutthis, but the fact that it happened
pretty much the next day after thatloss to Columbus in overtime just shows how
(01:53):
important that this is to bring aboutthat change and bring about it quickly.
It really has and me especially, you're gonna have free agency coming up,
You're gonna have draft coming up.There's a lot of different things that are
going to be coming up here,Corey, so you definitely want to have
some fresh blood in there. They'regonna have to hit the ground running regardless,
but it's a good move here, and I think fresh blood in Pittsburgh
(02:15):
is going to be exactly what thedoctor ordered. So, like I mentioned
a couple of weeks ago, yougotta give Hextall credit for making the calf
work the way that he did resigningeveryone that needed to be resigned last season.
But Latange's deal is not exactly thebest a lot of questable trades over
the course of the season, andit's not like the person who takes over
(02:36):
in this role is going to havean easy time here because you got to
decide what are you going to dowith the big three, particularly Malkin or
Latang. What are you going todo with Cansel as well, because he's
coming towards the end of his contract. Do you try to squeeze him in
or do you unfortunately let him go? And then, of course, as
you mentioned, free agency coming up, because Tristan Jarry, he's he's the
(02:59):
big thing to address here this freeagency, also Brian Doomlin, Jason Zucker.
So there's gonna be a lot forthis new regime to address here once
it does get once it does getassembled, and that's what a lot of
people don't understand too. I meanI always go back to it and I
use this reference. It's not afantasy hockey draft. I mean, you
don't know exactly what's going to beout there in the pool. You don't
(03:20):
know exactly what conversations are going onwith other teams, and they're free agents,
so it's not like you can justdump off all these guys right away,
speaking mostly of Ghensel and Zooker andDumlin and all them, because these
guys have been pretty key staples forthe Penguins, especially guys like Dumalind and
Ghensel that went through the whole program, but especially since you made all those
deals last year, you're not exactlyin good graces with the cap. Oh
(03:43):
no, that's exactly where I wasgoing with that too. Then the cap
comes into the situation here, Soyeah, absolutely, I mean, yeah,
everybody's like, oh, I wantto be a GM and Major League
Sports, but I don't know ifthis is a job that everybody's going to
be beating the doors down on rightnow. That's always been kind of a
dream job for me, but preferablyone that doesn't involve minor league. Minor
(04:06):
league affiliations like hockey or baseball, just because I'm pretty much gonna be bound
to screw something up at some pointthere, so preferably either the NBA or
the NFL if I were to bea GM. But even then that's still
not going to be easy. Yeah, I mean, it's it's definitely tough.
I mean, because especially baseball, because you're managing what like about four
or five teams pretty much. Itinvolved. I mean, it's it's crazy,
(04:28):
but it's definitely not going to beeasy. But the Penguins fans,
it just kind of trusted Mario andtrusting this ownership group that they're going to
go out and they're going to findthat right fit. Unfortunately, a big
want Walt with Hextall there though, and then and then Sidney Crosby does realize
that some change is going to haveto happen, and if it is big
change, probably gonna have to beso be a kind of thing. But
you just hope it doesn't get tothe point where the final seasons of Crosby's
(04:54):
career are pretty much wasted. Yeah, definitely not. I mean, this
is a kid that he deserved,He deserves every accolade out there, and
he's been a great guy on andoff the ice. He was a captain
at a young age for a specificreason. But you saw that even in
his early years there's eighteen nineteen, twenty year old years from him, he
had that leadership mentality about him.And then he of course, it's obvious
(05:16):
the great skill that he had toand definitely one of the greatest of all
time with what he's been able todo to resurrect Pittsburgh and get it back
to where we see it today. So lots of moves to expect here in
the off season, but the firstbig domino out of the way, Praise
Jesus, Hallelujah, buggitte buggatie bugeyamen. So after all that, of
(05:36):
course, we do have the StanleyCup playoffs going on. Unfortunately depends of
course, not a part of theplayoffs this year, but still a lot
to go around here, and morenotably the work being done by what you
would consider the eight seeds in eachconference, I mean Florida with Boston and
Seattle with Colorado. We'll start offhere with the Panthers. It was it
(06:00):
was looking real, real close forit to be ending right at the last
second, because it was Marshant onthe breakaway right but then able to come
through with the big save, andthen in overtime Allmark pretty much in a
scrambling situation trying to get back inthe net, wrong place, wrong time.
Panthers mary it and they forced agame six for Friday night, if
I remember correctly, but believe that'sright. Yep. I knew that the
(06:23):
Panthers were going to show some fight, but as I mentioned last week,
I thought it was going to bea sweet for the Bruins. But I
didn't think it was going to bean easy sweep because of the fight that
the Panthers have. And I mean, look at the way but brovskip's him
playing too. I mean he cameup beside some gigantic saves last night to
really keep them into that game.As you mentioned, but the guys like
to chuck some of these younger guysthat they're getting that taste to playoff experience
(06:45):
now. I mean some of themdo have the experience, don't get me
wrong, but you're getting that tastenow. And anytime you're playing the number
one team, you know that theyhave that target on their back and no
matter what, actually throw seeds outthe window, because all you have to
do is get in and that's thething. You know you're going to get
the best out of each team. And I wish I would have brought that,
And that's the theory that I believedin for the longest time, and
(07:08):
I wish I would have brought thattheory into my predictions because I'm not saying
they're looking good, but they're lookingbad. But they're not looking good because
you also got Seattle here putting Coloradoon the ropes. They can close it
all out on Friday night in Seattle, and of course the series is gonna
is gonna turn on its head alittle bit when one of the better players,
Cale mccarr is suspended for a gamefor his hit on Jerry McCanns.
(07:30):
So Seattle had to pounce on that, and that they did. But just
impressive stuff here from what you wouldconsider these eight seeds. And if Seattle
ends up upsetting Colorado, that's gonnabe huge. I mean, I go
all the way back to one ofmy kings won the Cup in twenty twelve,
upsetting Vancouver in the first round.Everybody said it couldn't be done.
While it was done, and that'sthe thing all you got to do is
(07:53):
get in. The playoffs are magical. You're gonna get everybody's best. And
that's what the cracking are doing rightnow. And I mean, I know
it kind of ruins the predictions alittle bit, but I mean I wouldn't
mind seeing an upset there in thefirst round. So with the Panthers win
last night, that means no onehas no one's advanced yet out of this
first round. Still all eight seriesto be decided here, though two could
(08:16):
come to an end tonight. Youhave Tampa Bay on the ropes against Toronto.
Game five is in Toronto tonight andthen Vegas. We'll try to close
out Winnipeg tonight out in Vegas. And that was kind of like the big
upset for me in my predictions becauseI had Winnipeg over Vegas. But Vegas
lately the offense is welcome up andthat they have a chance to move on.
Jonathan Quick, thank you for theyears in La But where the heck
(08:39):
was this at the beginning of theyear. My goodness flashes back to his
twenty eight year old self, notthirty eight year old self now, But
now all jokes aside, Vegas justplaying fantastic hockey right now. They Corey,
like I said, they got tobe one of the hottest teams in
the playoffs right now. Absolutely, and then of course the misery for Toronto
(09:00):
when the first round does have achance to end. But I'm still taking
this with a grain of salt righthere, because you got to imagine Tampa's
gonna wake up at some point here. So there's still well, there's still
some time here for Toronto to bethe next team to be a part of
a insert team here blue A threeone lead team. Yeah, they really
(09:20):
are. And I mean that's thething. You know that Tampa honestly plays
the best when their backs are upagainst the wall. You've seen that what
was at a couple of years Ithink it was before the COVID year that
they kind of snuck him too theplayoffs there and then they make a huge
run. So yeah, I mean, when their backs are up against the
wall, that's when they're going toplay the best. But if you're a
Maple Leese fan or you know somebodyit's a Maple Lee fan, you're kind
(09:41):
of hoping they can close it outhere tonight. And the other thing here
with New Jersey going up against theRangers here. I had the mentality and
making my predictions that the Rangers werepretty much in that win now mentality with
all the trades that they made, and I thought they were going to take
care of business here because all thecredit in the world to New Jersey.
But there's such a young team andjust having a good regular season. But
(10:03):
the Devils have looked really impressive. And it's it's kind of the same thing
with Seattle. I was thinking thatthey were going to learn that the Stanley
Cup playoffs ain't sweet. But bothof these young teams are handling themselves pretty
well. Have you noticed the transitionthat New Jersey has made into the postseason.
They're not that type of team thatkind of lays back and tries to
win the battle in the neutral zoneexactly. Yeah, they are pressured a
lot more in that offensive zone thatother team touches the puck in what would
(10:28):
be the other team's defensive zone. So, for example, the Rangers,
there is somebody rating those guys's facelike this is not the same New Jersey
team that I watched all season long. So the tomorrow night you have the
Carolina Hurricanes with a chance to closeout the Islanders over in New York,
and then the Stars have a chanceto eliminate the Wild tomorrow night as well.
So still a lot of entertaining stuffhere in this first round, and
(10:50):
still a lot to dissect right here. And before I forget your King's going
up against the Oilers here, Iwas really thinking the Kings were going to
upset the Oilers here for a second. Mean, Edmonton leads three two and
they have a chance to close itout in La Saturday, But there was
part of me that was thinking, should Edmonton just really blow this up here
because you're wasting Connor McDavid's good years. Leon Dry sidles as well. You
(11:15):
actually had some good goaltending for once, yep, for once, but then
you have trouble with La. Butit looks like things are on the mend
here and unless something weird happens, they should be able to move on.
I tell you what I mean, even as a fan, it was so
disheartening. We had that three nothinglead in Game four and then all of
a sudden we blow it, Weget we get on the board again,
(11:35):
and then two minutes to go,Edmonton scores again and then gets the overtime
winner. I think that just reallydeflated our tires because you look into six
three victory by Edmonton in Game five, and I mean that was just all
Edmonton. I mean, yeah, they let off at the end. We
put in a couple of pucks inthe third period, which is nice to
see. But yeah, I don'tknow. I just think that four tires
just ready to get deflated there forthe Kings. And I'm not I mean,
(11:58):
I'm not saying it from a biasedperspective. I've been saying you blow
the lead like that, it's hardto come back from that. Absolutely,
So for sure, all the seriesare going to be decided over the course
of the next couple of days andthe weekend, and we'll be sure to
recap it all in next week innext week's episode, because there's been a
lot of great action to go aroundin this first round. So we'll go
(12:18):
ahead and go to the diamond herebefore we get to our first round.
NFL Draft predictions and the Pittsburgh Pirates, considering the series that they had this
past week against Colorado and against Cincinnati, I was expecting them to win both
of these series. I was notexpecting them to sweep the week. But
(12:39):
my god, that they look gooddoing it. They really did, Corey.
I mean, the bats came aliveagainst the Rockies and then it continued
with the Reds. They're playing greatbaseball right now. And this is the
type of team that I can't reallytell if some of these guys want to
stay in Pittsburgh or if they wantto win. But I'll tell you one
guy that wants to and isn't ismister e ear contract. Brian Reynolds.
(13:01):
Oh, he want a job bythem to be able to lock him up.
And awesome for Brian Reynolds. Youknow, could he probably went somewhere
and maybe made a little more money, probably, But this guy's dedicated to
Pittsburgh. He's playing fantastic ball now. Because a few weeks ago when we
were on the episode, we talkedhow he's kind of lying in the leaves.
Well, now Reynolds has come alive. And McCutcheon too, Oh my
(13:22):
goodness, what a season. MccutcheensHavin just hearing about the overall process and
of the negotiations between the Pirates andReynolds, how they wanted to get this
done. It was just it wasjust taking its sweet time, but then
finally able to put pen to paperhere and Brian Reynolds is going to be
here for a long long time.I mean, I mean not as long
(13:43):
as Derek Shelton, but Shelton didget an extension as well, two year
one at that. So there's beena lot of impressive stuff with the Pirates
lately. Do not get me wrong. I love seeing it. I love
seeing them handle their business with theDodgers. This week, as a matter
of fact, they go up fivetwo in the bottom of the six as
we recording a two h four atthe time. But I just don't want
(14:03):
to get my hopes too high becauseit's April. The fans are already and
some of the broadcasters are already crowningthis team, and we're not done with
the first month of the season.Like, I don't want to be negative
here, but there's time for there'stime to screw this up. So I'm
just being cautiously optimistic at the moment. And you're living in the moment right
(14:28):
now, you're enjoying it. ThePirates are in first place, they're looking
good. They have the Dodgers onthe rope right now. I mean,
I honestly thought they should have wonthat game Tuesday night too. They just
kind of blew it there. ButI mean, well, I mean you
look at three errors in that game, but when you think about it,
those were kind of like bad luckerrors at that they really were, because
in the end, those would havebeen tremendous plays. Yeah, because I
mean they were back and forth thatentire game. It's just a great battle,
(14:50):
a great offensive battle. And thenlast night you had the great pitching.
I mean it was it's they're they'relooking great right now. But this
is the type of team. Theyfinally got some vetteran in there too.
And that's what I said. Iwas like, oh, you look at
last year's team. You and Italked about it. It was the major
league line, like who are theseguys? You know? But they really
came together. They got they havegood veterans, they developed some guys to
(15:11):
come up here. Now they're doinggreat in the miners too. If you're
paying attention to the minor league teams, they're looking really good right now too.
And you just get done saying somethinggood about Rodolpho Castro. He just
homewards. So it's now six twoby rates. There you go. But
yeah, you know, unfortunately,Corey, you know, it was a
little bit bummed out because we talkedabout it a few weeks ago. Michael
Grove was slated to have the startlast night and then unfortunately heads to the
(15:33):
IL. But I mean a long, long career ready for him that you
really got to be careful though, especially when it comes to that elbow and
everything because he has had the TommyJohn surgery already. But kind of a
bummer for him. But like Isaid, Park fans, Wheeling Area fans,
this kid's got a long career aheadof him. And that's kind of
been the tune to the Dodger's seasonso far. I mean, you knew
(15:54):
they were going to be working insome of their younger talent this year with
all the high end free agents thatthey go this season. But yeah,
quite a few injuries, Max Muncieson the paternity list. So I wasn't
necessarily expecting the Pirates to win thisseries, but I was expecting them to
compete, and they competed. Yeah, they look really good right now.
(16:15):
Like you said, the bats arecoming out. But that's the thing you
talked about a Corey. It's onehundred and sixty two game season. Coaches
are gonna make adjustments, They're gonnastart pitching guys differently. We're gonna just
have to see how the Pirates adjustbecause now they're not used to this,
and I'm not saying that in anative way either. They're not used to
this, but they got the targeton their back right now. But you
(16:36):
gotta love how the starting pitching isgoing deeper into endings. This was a
huge problem for them last year.Way more quality starts in this month alone
than they probably would have had overthe course of last season. And even
when they don't get that quality startlike what's been happening in the last few
days, at least there has beensome quality stuff to work with and at
the very least the bullpen. Yeah, they still had their issues, but
(16:57):
it's looking a little bit than itdid last year. Absolutely, And then
a lot of people thought, especiallywhen O'Neil Cruz went down, that oh
my goodness, there goes to seasonpretty much there and then what do you
do with him when he comes backafter the four months. But I mean,
there's really been some opportunistic players herethat have really stepped up into major
(17:17):
roles. I mean, they're lookinggood right now. This is just awesome
to see. I mean, whata story it's been. Yeah, even
the one guy that they called uprecently, he's been starting to he's been
starting to turn on Matthias. Mathiashas really starting to turn it up.
I watched him in Triple A lastyear and oh my goodness, Like I
even said it back then, Isaid, this kid's going to be a
stud. And then of course youhad the story of of last night.
(17:38):
Drew Maggie after thirteen years and theMiners over a thousand games and the Miners
finally gets his opportunity to make hismajor league debut last night. Unfortunately a
strikeout, but the standing ovation thathe gets right before the app bat not
necessarily the Cutch level ovation that wesaw on opening day, but a stuff.
(18:00):
Nonetheless, it gets national attention. He's on Good Morning America this morning.
You'll love to see it, youreally do. And that's where I
said that the story continues. Thereis something amazing. But because I've been
a part of a couple of themin person, up there, one of
them, I don't even know ifyou would have been born yet, I
don't know. I mean, Iknow we're not too far apart here.
But Andy van slike when he madehis return to Pittsburgh after that severe injury,
(18:23):
that he had got to be therefor that when he got his pinch
hit and then he had a groundballbase hit, and then when McCutcheon returned
in a Giant's uniform for his firstat bat, I got to be there
for that. But I mean, just what a moment for that young man.
And just a story of perseverance, especially in today's world where there is
a lot of struggles with mental healthand giving up in everything. Just what
(18:45):
a story that is not only forbaseball, but just an inspirational story for
everybody. So as long as thePirates are able to hold off the Dodgers
here again they're leaning at the momentas of twelve o nine, as of
two oh nine, rather leaning sixor two over the Dodgers two outs bottom
of the sixth, they'll now moveon to a short little road, short
week on the road here. They'llbe going to Washington this weekend and then
(19:08):
starting Tuesday they'll be in Tampa Bayand just and all this amazing stuff that
we've seen out of these two smallmarket teams, it's going to come to
a head on Tuesday. It reallyis. I mean, this is gonna
be awesome to see. And Imean, like you said, small market
teams, Corey, I can't rememberwhat movie it's from, but I said,
(19:29):
I love me an Underdog. Yep, exactly. So hopefully the Pirates
are able to secure this series. When with the Dodgers, hopefully they're able
to keep this going against Washington becausethey're kind of a shell of their former
cells. But just try to keepthat momentum up before you head into Tampa
for what's sure to be a reallytough series. It really is, but
I mean, especially the way Tampa'splaying right now. But you know one
(19:49):
thing that I don't know if theyreally take into effect and how much it
does affect you. But playing ina dome compared to playing outside. I
always wondered that with different teams, especially when Tampa goes on the road or
when Tampa plays at home. Ialways wondered if that kind of plays a
factor into various games. But theseguys are professional. I don't think they
give a crap where they play.So I lied one more thing before we
(20:12):
get to the NFL Draft predictions, because one of the questions that I was
going to ask leading up to ourpredictions the approach of not just the Ravens
because you have the l Lamar Jacksonsituation going, but the approach of the
Jets and the Packers, because thedeal was pretty much set in paper,
it was just a matter of whenthe deal was going to be done.
(20:33):
Well, the deal got done earlierthis week, so that kind of throws
that question in the garbage here. We'll still ask about the Ravens approach,
but the deal finally does get done. Aaron Rodgers is now a Jet.
Yeah, I mean, I thinkit's a great move, and I mean
they had to give up a lotfor him. But you know, Corey,
I think this is also going tobe one of the most mysterious drafts.
So of course I was already redoing, you know, my draft board
(20:56):
and my draft predictions. But thenafter that, I'm pretty sure I redid
it about three or four times. When that trade went down, I was
still battling an infection in my knee. But yeah, I think I changed
my mind about twenty times before wecame on the show here, and I'm
pretty sure I might even change itin the midst of the show. So
Basically, in this deal New Yorkand Green Bay they're gonna swap first round
(21:17):
picks four tonight, but some additionalcompensation for green Bay the Jets giving up
twenty twenty three second round pick anda second round in the twenty twenty four
if for twenty twenty four that couldbecome a first rounder if Aaron Rodgers plays
at least sixty five percent of theoffensive snaps this upcoming seasons. So you'll
look at it here, it seemslike New York has won this deal because
(21:40):
because last year they were not thatbad. It's just you have an offense
that's led by Zach Wilson, somaybe they are just a quarterback away from
you from competing here. And andnow they have that with Rogers. And
I mean, it's not that GreenBay didn't get a good return in this
deal, but now you finally getto see what Jordan Love has you really
do. And I mean that's awesomefor him in a great opportunity. But
(22:02):
I mean it does leave the quarterbackroom a little bit thing, because I
think they only have two on theroster now. But I mean, so
it does leave that. But thebiggest thing for the Jets is going to
be You're going to have to protectAaron Rodgers. Yep, exactly, and
then Aaron Rodgers is going to haveto deal with the monster. Don't as
a New York media stan, he'sdefinitely he's definitely polarizing enough to get some
(22:25):
headlines. But you know, oneslip up, one crazy kooky thing about
Ashwood, Ashwood, whatever he wastaken or Darkness retreats or whatever, they're
just going to rip into him.Oh yeah, absolutely, it's It's definitely
not in Green Bay anymore, that'sfor sure. So now we move on
to the first round of the NFLDraft, and just a couple of questions
(22:47):
here before we get to these firstround predictions. Of course, for most
of the mock drafts that we've beenseeing for the last few weeks, it's
either been Bryce Young or CJ.Stroud one way or another at one or
two. So not necessarily given awaytoo much here, Chris, because we
don't want to give away our predictionsright off the bat. But which quarterback
(23:07):
should be taking number one? Imean, I think if you look systematically,
it should be CJ. Stroud becausehe reminds me a lot of Kim
Newton. Don't get me wrong.Bryce Young very very mobile quarterback, very
mobile quarterback, has a lot ofgreat downfield strides. But I think CJ.
Stroud he would fit a little bitbetter into that Carolina system. They
kind of like to use that scramblingquarterback they use Baker Mayfield. I mean,
(23:30):
yeah, they definitely like to usethat scrambling quarterback. But these two
young men very well deserving of thefirst two picks just from a physical standpoint.
CJ. Stroud, I agree,is more deserving of being the first
quarterback taken here, because yes,Bryce Young has all these tremendous qualities.
It's just the only major knock againsthim is he's short. Yes, so
(23:51):
so it's Kyler Merley. Yeah,so CJ. Stroud definitely fits the mold
better of an NFL quarterback. Butit just seems like Bryce Young has become
the con census first first overall pick. Now, there has been a little
bit of attention for Will Levis lately, but I just think it's gonna be
too little too late for him.Not to give too much away, but
I think it's gonna be a littlebit too little too late for Will Levis.
(24:12):
So so my next question here Iwas going to ask about the Packers
in the Jets approach, but wepretty much know that by now. So
the Ravens approach with the Lamar Jacksonshits a situation still looming and their GM
saying a couple weeks ago, hey, we can still take a quarterback in
the first round. So do youthink they actually had the cojones to do
(24:33):
it? I don't. Do theyhave the cohones to do it? Absolutely?
But should they? I don't thinkthere's so many spots on that defense
that they really need to look at. And even though you got Obj a
few days ago, you could stillafford to get another receiver. Yeah.
See, there's a lot of questionmarks around in him. We also there's
been a lot of talk of RashadBateman being a part of the Lamar Jackson
(24:57):
deal. I mean, that's gonnabe one heck of a deal, yeah,
if that's going to happen, Butyou know they've thrown him out there
in the trade talks too. Sospeaking of quarterbacks here, of course,
the four that we've expected to gonot just in the first round but pretty
much the top ten here of courseStroud, Bryce Young Levis and also Anthony
Richardson in Florida. But Hendon Hookerof Tennessee, he's it's been starting to
(25:19):
catch some fire as well, andmaybe could sneak into the late first round
here now. Definitely worthy of somethinglike that because he was having a Heisman
quality season before going down with injury. But do you think Hooker is able
to sneak in the first round.I don't think, and I think the
only thing that's going to hold himback is that knee injury. Unfortunately.
I mean, I know a lotof people are looking at that right now.
(25:40):
I mean I was watching the gamelive when it happened. I even
said I was like, that wasnasty because I just had my ACL surgery
rate after he did that, Soyeah, it was not a good But
unfortunately they got to take that intoconsideration because that knee is never going to
be the same again. And alot of teams are taking his age into
consideration as well. He's not Brandonweed and old, but he's still kind
(26:03):
of old at that. So isthere a chance he could sneak into the
first round? Absolutely, But Ijust don't see it happening unless a contender
who's who could be in need ofa quarterback down the road wants to take
a flyer on a developmental thing. But even then it's just still wouldn't makes
sense. Yeah, I don't think. I mean, I honestly think he's
going to be a solid second roundguy. And you know somebody's going to
(26:26):
take a gamble in that second roundand you know it's going to get a
very very good quarterback. So lastquestion here before the last couple of questions
here before we get into the predictions. Give me a couple of a couple
of prospects here, Chris, thatyou think are lying in the weeds that
won't necessarily that maybe won't necessarily gofirst round, but could end up being
great. Emmanuel Forbes out of MississippiState. He's a defensive back. I
(26:49):
really like his physicality. I lovehis speed. Now I've noticed in some
of the highlights and stuff that he'shad that they put out there, he
has lost receivers on some longer routes, which is going to be a problem
in the NFL. I really reallylike him. I think he's going to
be an absolute stud. And thenthe other one, this is kind of
he could kind of slip into thefirst round, but I don't know Dalton
(27:11):
Kincaide. Now, if he wouldhave been a tight end his entire career,
I would have said absolutely first roundworthy. But I know there's some
question marks there about him because hedid not play tight end his entire career.
So the big prospect that I couldsee kind of line in the weeds
but could end up being great,Jack Campbell out of Iowa. He's definitely,
(27:34):
in my mind, the best linebackerhere, the best pure linebacker here
in the draft, very sound player. It's just a matter of what point
in the second round is he gonnago. Is he first round talent?
Maybe not, but somebody's gonna gethim in a steal in the second round.
Yeah, I had him in thesecond round. So I couldn't remember
who I had him going to because, like I said, we only wrote
out the first round. But yeah, I definitely. Because here's the thing,
(27:57):
this is gonna be a huge draftfor offensive linemen, it's gonna be
a huge draft for defensive backs, and it's gonna be a huge draft for
wide receivers. Yep, you're Idon't think you're going to see a run
on receivers in the first two rounds. But I guarantee you that third through
seventh round, there is gonna bea ton of receivers taken. And then
(28:18):
also someone who caught my eye inall the mock drafts I did on Pro
Football Focus before they started charging youfor doing a full mock draft, McKay
Blackman out of USC a defensive back, probably going to end up being a
Day three pick, but there's beena lot of good talk around him.
There really has been. I mean, there's some guys that I'm looking in
that day three. I mean,Max Dugan's another one, Like I've seen
(28:41):
his name thrown around late six, seventh round, and I'm like, like,
like even Bryce Forward Wheaton out ofWest Virginia, Serve Vochcha Dennis out
of Pittsburgh. He's a pretty solidlinebacker two. So there's definitely gonna be
a lot of good there could bea lot of good quality picks in that
Day three. And another one,you know, I want to see him
go Stills. You know, thatwould be great to see him and his
(29:02):
brother both being in the NFL.But or even see Tyson Badgen out of
Shepherd sneak in. So he's goingsomewhere. I'm telling you he's got he
is going in the seventh round.I've heard Falcons and Raiders are pretty high
on him, and I mean,I've got to call one of his games.
I'd love to see it. Theother one that is really on the
fringe right now, and I ampraying to God he gets in because I've
had four of his high school games. Is Brenton Strange, the Parkersburg native
(29:26):
and the Penn State tight end. There's a lot of concerns about his size
because he is only two hundred andthirty pounds right now, but I would
love to somehow see him sneak intothat seventh round. There. So,
without further ado, we shall nowgo into our first round predictions for the
NFL Draft. Of course, thatfirst round is kicking off tonight, but
we will also throw in the Steelerspick at thirty two, because keep in
(29:49):
mind that Miami does not have afirst round pick because they got busted for
tamperings, so might as well throwin thirty two. Might as well hadn't
making an even number. Still,so with that, let's go into our
predictions here. So, of course, the first overall pick was held by
Chicago, but the big trade acouple months ago. Carolina now in possession
(30:10):
of that first overall pick. Itseems like Bryce Young has become the consensus
number one overall pick. Like Isaid, and I think that's going to
stick. Bryce Young is going togo number one overall here tonight. Very
poised, tough, creative, efficient, proven winner. Only knock is that
he's short. Yeah, yeah,I know, Corey, I I'm in
agreement with you. I think BryceYoung goes to Carolina because Lake has said
(30:33):
that. Yeah, you go backto the Cam Newton days. Yeah,
he was a bigger, scrambling quarterback. They took a gamble on Baker Mayfield,
he was a smaller quarterback. ButI really think Bryce Young's going to
go to Carolina. So congratulations tothe Panthers there. So number two is
held by Houston now for a while, it's been a back and forth between
Bryce Young and c. J.Strau. But in some of the mock
(30:55):
drafts that I've seen in the lastcouple of days, some people maybe have
Will Anderson out of Alabama sneaking intothat number two picks. So what say
you on this, Chris, Who'susn't taken? Yeah? This was huge,
Corey, because Will Anderson's another onethat he's the type of athlete that
doesn't come around very often. Imean, he's almost Chase Young two point
zero. But they need to adjustthat quarterback position first. I think they're
(31:18):
going CJ. Stroud quarterback out ofa high state. I'm an a grance
here. I mean it's very tempting, but you need a quarterback. I
can understand trying to work out DavisMills the best you could, but you
gotta get this guy. Like Isaid, best best quarterback all around in
terms of physical traits, just maybea little bit inconsistent in the bigger games
at Ohio State, especially this pastbattle with Michigan, but definitely the most
(31:41):
accurate of the top qbs are goingto be taken. Yeah, I think
so. And I mean, likeI said, he's another scrambling guy.
He can get himself out of trouble. I mean, obviously he's not gonna
want to tuck the ball and runlike he did at a high estate,
but he can get himself out oftrouble. And I think he's going to
fit in perfect with the Texan system. So third overall, pick Hell by
the Arizona Cardinals. For a while, I had Atlanta making a trade with
(32:06):
Arizona to go up to number threebecause Will Anderson is originally from Atlanta,
and that would be a good pieceto kind of kind of rebuild keep me
cap off that rebuild of the defense. That's what I'm trying to say.
But Will Anderson is a guy thatArizona wants pretty bad as well. There's
been a lot of scenarios where theyhave where a lot of people have Arizona
trading down, and I understand why, but this is the chance to get
(32:30):
a young stud to rebuild your defense, especially after JJ Watt retiring. So
I say Arizona stays at three andthey're gonna go Will Anderson out of BA
Alabama. Not much wrong with thisguy. Really should have been a Heisman
finalist, either him or be JeanRobinson because nothing against Stetson Bennett. I
understand if you want somebody from Georgiain there, but his stats were mid
(32:50):
when it comes to being a Heismancandidate. So Will Anderson definitely should have
been a Heisman finalist. But notmuch wrong with this guy compared with bon
Miller. You see why. SoWill Anderson at least I think will be
a cardinal. Yeah, he's gonnabe a cardinal for sure. And I
mean, now he came out,was he a red shirt sophomore? I
think when he came out, soI know he's younger. I know possibly,
(33:10):
Yeah, I know he's a youngunderclassman. So he is a little
bit younger. But Corey, likeI said, going all the way back
to the Texans, pick Will Anderson. I mean, he's a freaking nature.
He's not the type of athlete thatcomes around very often. The offense
looks great out there, they're gonnago Will Anderson. So number four to
Indianapolis, who you got? Ihave Anthony Richardson here. I've been huge
(33:35):
on him. I've watched some ofthe mock drafts and I really feel that
he's going to be the guy that'sgonna go to Indy because I don't think
Gardner Minshew is going to be theanswer up there in Indy. There's only
two quarterbacks in the room up there. But I think this is where Richardson
goes. Yeah, Indy does notneed to overthink this. They need a
quarterback here, but they've been veryhigh on Will Levis and that's who I
(33:59):
have. Endy Applets going right here. So our first disagreement here in our
predictions, but no doubt the strongestarm in the draft. Maybe you just
had to do a little bit toomuch at Kentucky over the past season because
he was injured and not necessarily workingwith the best and could read the field
a little bit better, but hasthe size scoots pretty well. This could
end up being a good picky.Absolutely. I think you can't go wrong
(34:21):
here on either one of those guys. And just please stop adding mayo in
your coffee. Stop adding mayo inyour coffee. Use psychopath that don'll do
mayo. In general, it's notthat bad. It's especially if it's miracle
whipped. So moving on down toSeattle, here they have they have the
(34:44):
fifth overall pick with the Russell Wilsontrade that they made with Denver, so
a variety of options that they couldgo with here in a variety of scenarios
that I've seen here, But inthe end I think they're gonna pull off
surprise here and take Tyree Wilson, the edge rusher out of Texas Tech.
There are some reconcerns with him,but has good size, has a high
motor. Can help in the rungame too, because Seattle. You could
(35:07):
you could pretty much run all overthem last year's So get somebody that can
help out with the run game.Tyree Wilson can be that guy, not
only to help with the run game, but also get to a quarterback.
Yeah. I had a tough choicewith this one because there's a lot of
different ways you can go, andbut I believe they're going to rebuild the
legion of boom here, and Ihad Tyree Wilson as well, a defensive
(35:27):
end out of Texas Tech. Iwas thinking receiver here because they do need
the bolster that receiving corps a littlebit. But after looking at Tyree Wilson,
you mentioned the same thing injury concerns, which is because I thought for
sure, you know, there wasa way that he possibly could even have
gone over will Anderson. Yet therewasn't injuries. But yeah, I think
this is where Wilson comes off theboard at number five. So number six
(35:50):
goes to Detroit here because of thecompensation from the Matt Stafford trade. So
they have the Los Angeles Rams pick, so they pick six. Overall,
you got Chris, I have ChristianGonzalez, the shutdown corner from Oregon.
I know he's not the number oneranked corner in this draft, but I
love this kid. He is anabsolute ballhawk. There's some youth concerns with
(36:13):
him because he is a redshirt sophomore, but there is some youth concerns with
him. I love his size,I love his physicality. There wasn't many
times that he got beat on routes, so I took Christian Gonzalez here.
I do have Detroit going defense here, but this is where Jalen Carter's fall
stops here. Of course, thebeast defensive tackle out of Georgia randotism off
the field issues immediately after Georgie's nationalchampionship win, and if it weren't for
(36:39):
that, he'd definitely be a topfive maybe even in the conversation for the
top pick overall. But no doubthe's a beast. Detroit needs a defensive
tackle here, so you might aswell nap him. Yeah. Absolutely,
I think they can't go wrong witheither pick here. I mean, they
need a lot of help in thesecondary too. I understand they do have
a Kuda right now, but Imean he really hasn't been panted out the
(36:59):
way that teams that everybody thought hewould but well, Kuda ended up getting
traded to Atlanta's, so I forgotall about that. But yeah, I
mean, yeah, definitely they needto bolster that defensive backfield, and they
just need a shot in the armaltogether here because you had so many of
those players get busted for gambling afew days ago, especially especially Jamison Williams.
(37:20):
So it definitely gonna be a goodway to bolster the defense for sure,
but definitely needs something to cheer aboutat the moment if you're a Detroit
So number seven overall, this iswhere I think the first chaotic moment is
going to happen. I know Vegaswants a defensive back, but knowing them,
(37:40):
they're probably going to go unconventional andnot go with the top defensive backs,
either Christian Zalez or Devin Witherspoon, because they're the Raiders. They do
unconventional stuff every now and then they'llsurprise you, but they don't go the
path that you want them to godown. Washington new ownerships set to go
(38:02):
in. You know, they wantto make a splash. You know they
want some stability at quarterback. Somy first chaotic moment here Washington and Vegas
works out of trade, and Washingtonmoves up to number seven to take Anthony
Richardson out of Florida because, likeI said, you know, they want
to make a splash here. Thephysical traits off the charts. We saw
(38:25):
it playing his day in the Combine. It's just that his stats in college
were pretty much mid and mid inthe SEC does not work, so you're
definitely gonna have to develop him alittle bit. Good thing is you did
sign Jacoby Brissette, more than capableto start at least the first few weeks
if you want to go this route. But I just imagine Washington definitely wants
(38:50):
to freshen things up here and thiscould be a good way to do it.
Yeah. I mean, that's agreat pick there, Corey, but
I stayed with Vegas here at numberseven. But like he said, Vegas
is very unconventional here. I thinkthey're actually going to bolster up the offensive
line in the first pick because ParisJohnson, from a high estate still out
there. I think that's if hewould have went off the board in the
(39:15):
top six, I would have agreedhere Kristen Gonzalez, but yeah, I
had to go with Paris Johnson here. Best offensive tackle on the board.
I think this is where he goesto the Raiders. So going down to
number eight here, which is possessedby the Atlanta Falcons. So yeah,
the dirty Birds taking Chris. Ihave once again, I'm gonna stay with
(39:36):
the offensive line here. This isa spot where the Falcons could go quarterback
as well, because you know Desmondritter who knows you know, there's a
lot of question marks about him.I think they're going to try to protect
their quarterback with Broderick Jones, offensivetackle from Georgia. So definitely a little
bit early there, but I coulddefinitely understand the hype right here for Broderick
(39:57):
because definitely a beast over at thetackle spot. I say Atlanta continues the
rebuild of their defense and they godefensive back, because it turns out they
had a pretty good one in aj Terrell. Yeah. I was definitely
scratching my head along with a fewother people, but he has definitely panned
out. So you've given somebody elseto go on the other side right here,
and that's who I have him goingwith. I going where Christian Gonzale
(40:20):
is out of organ good speed, size, squeezes offensive players in the field
can do better with man coverage, and like you said, Chris, some
youth is used to work out here. But Christian Gonzalez could definitely be a
good pick up here. Yeah,I mean, don't forget too. I
mean he's a pretty decent special teamsguy too, if they decide to use
him and kick returns as well.So nine overall, originally held by Carolina
(40:40):
but now held by Chicago. Isay they go to the secondary as well
and take Devin Witherspoon out of Illinois. Not necessarily the fastest, but didn't
let up too many yards and hasa great football. I you, pretty
good tackler as well. Yeah,he really is. Indeed, Corey,
I have a trade for you here, sweet. I think Houston and Chicago
(41:04):
are gonna swap picks here because Houstonand at least on my board here,
they still need a defensive end.Miles Murphy is still on the board here.
It's the third best defensive end inthe draft. Here. I was
back and forth. I'm like, all right, dude, they go Jalen
Carter at defensive tackle. When Isaid, now, I think they gotta
go with Miles Murphy. There wasno way he was going to make it,
(41:28):
you know, past Philadelphia. ButI think this is where Murphy,
Miles Murphy goes to Houston in atrade with Chicago, and just the thing
when Miles Murphy, there's a lotto like about him, it's just that
he's been He's one of these prospectsthat have just been all over the place
in the first round. Some peoplehave him in the top ten, some
people have him barely in the firstround. It's just you can't you just
can't exactly get a read on him. There's so many good defensive ends too,
(41:52):
but I firmly believe that if hecan keep his head on straight,
he's the third best defensive end inthis draft. And I think that's why
he is going to trade up andget their defensive end. So rounding out
the top ten is Philadelphia. Theyacquired this pick from New Orleans. So
who do you have closing out thetop ten? This is where I have
Jalen Carter, defensive tackle out ofGeorgia, because there is so much wrong
(42:15):
with that defensive line in Philadelphia, and I think Jayalen Carter is going to
fill that spot. Person who knowshow long Fletcher Cox is going to be
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Imean, yeah, I really think you
know, Philly is not exactly onthe right side of thirty now. And
I mean this is where I thinkPhiladelphia high fives everybody in front of him
and says thank you. See Iinitially had Philadelphia going defense here and addressing
(42:37):
the secondary with Brian Branch, butthere's been a lot of traction behind them
taking Bijean Robinson with their first pickin the first round, because keep in
mind they also have thirty one orthirty rather beg your pardon, but I
could see this happening. I say, Bijean Robertson Robinson goes tenth overall to
Philadelphia because you need somebody after losing, after losing Miles Sanders, I mean,
(43:00):
shot Penny. He's good, buthe hasn't exactly panned out here,
So go ahead and get yourself astar here in the backfield. Solid size,
can catch and block. Not exactlypowerful with this running, but he
can make an immediate impact. Yeah, and absolutely, And that's what Sanders
was great at in Philadelphia too,was catching those balls out of the backfield
from hurts. I mean, notonly was he a dump off guy,
(43:22):
but I mean he was the typeof guy that they had design plays to
get the ball in his hands inspace. So yeah, I mean,
Corey, I could definitely agree withthat pick there for you. I was
kind of back and forth. Iwas like, Ah, did they go
running back or are they gonna tryto? You know? But Penny has
been like a pan of glass too. I mean, he's definitely been hurt
a lot. So now we goto eleventh overall the Tennessee Titans. This
(43:45):
is where I had Paris Johnson Juniorgoing that the offensive tackle out of Ohio
State. As often as they run, they could really use a guy like
him. Maybe not the best footwork, so to say, but it is
definitely versatile as well. Because hehad I've seen some time that guard,
which is another need for Tennessee. So you could definitely move him around and
you're you're definitely gonna want this pieceif you do end up keeping Derrick Henry
(44:07):
because apparently he's a quarter because accordingto somebody on American Ninja Warrior, who
has no experience in reporting anything, let alone reporting a trade, he's going
to Philadelphia apparently. Yeah, Idon't think it's gonna be Philadelphia, but
I mean I've definitely seen his namethroughout here, and I mean Tennessee has
done some unconventional things. Is muchlike Vegas here, and I think this
(44:30):
is where the first wide receiver getstaken, Jackson Smith, Ninjigba out of
Ohio state because if you think aboutthey do need to bolster that core a
little bit. But my also questionis, Okay, as Malik Willis Tannehill,
who's going to be the one that'sreally going to get him the ball
here? Yeah, and I canunderstand why Tennessee would want to go quarterback,
but that's the thing you took MalikWillis last year, so kind of
(44:53):
kind of defeats the purpose. Yeah, And I just I don't know.
I was back and forth on thisone for the longest time, but I
really think that Smith and Jigba thisis where he's gonna go. So twelfth
overall, but keep in mind,Chris has a trade worked out where Houston
moves up to nine and now Chicagomoves down to twelve. So who do
(45:14):
you have Chicago chanking at number twelve? So he's not originally from there,
but he played football rate in theGreat City of Chicago. Peter Screndrowski out
of offensive Lineman out of Northwestern. They really need to bolster that offensive line.
I think fields if he gets sometime back there, he could be
very effective. He's got a decentreceiving corps. I'd like to see Chicago
(45:36):
maybe pick up another receiver in thedraft, maybe in the later rounds,
but I think if they can bolsterto the offensive line here, I think
they're gonna be just fine. SoI have Houston standing pad here at number
twelve. Of course Houston gets this. He gets this pick because of the
Deshaun Watson trade, so this wouldhave originally been held by Cleveland, but
the Texans have this pick here.I have them going Lucas van Ness out
(45:59):
of Iowa. This is an otherguy who's been all over the place in
the first round and kind of becausehe doesn't really have the experience, not
necessarily a full time player with theHawkeyes, but it's pretty good at getting
to the quarterback and is athletic enoughto garner this kind of attention. And
he I mean he's a hybrid too. I mean he could drop back into
coverage if he really needs to,or if they run a defensive end double
(46:19):
spy. I mean, he wasthe one that could do it. But
yeah, I mean, definitely agreat defensive end here. But another guy
that you said was up and downthe board. But Corey, this was
something I was saying too. Ithink outside of the first two picks,
this is going to be one ofthe most mysterious drafts ever. I think
it could be. I know Isaid the same thing last year, but
this year just seems absolutely bonkers.Well then, well, then last year
(46:40):
it became all the more mysterious becausetray Von Walker did end up being the
number one pick. Yeah, andthen you had trades galore last year.
I think it was last year, right, we had the trades galore.
Was at the COVID year. Itmight have been the COVID year. I
think it was a COVID year.We had trades galore that year. I
mean it was just insane. Butyeah, I mean I think either way,
you can't go wrong there. Sonow we go down to the thirteenth
(47:02):
overall pick, which would have beenheld by the New York Jets, but
now because of the Aaron Rodgers trade, it's now held by Green Bay.
So I say, with this pickfor green Bay, Aaron Rodgers is going
to look at said pick and isgoing to look at Green Bay like,
oh, now you want to draftme a wide receiver in the first round,
(47:25):
because I had them going Jack andJackson Smith and Jigba out of Ohio
State. Now not exactly the idealsize that you would want in a receiver,
but good speed can is really goodat getting new yards after the catch.
This is going to be one youngreceiving corps here. But Christian Watson
definitely surprised a lot of people andthis can this can definitely add to it
(47:45):
if you get JSN. So Iagree with you on the receiving part here,
but unfortunately I already had Smith andJibbug going to Tennessee. Sorry,
Steeler Fins, You're not going toget him. Jordan Addison wide receiver USC
here. I really think Addison isthe second best receiver here in the draft,
and I think this is where thePackers take him off the board.
(48:06):
So fourteenth overall, we're now downto New England. Who you got the
Patriots taken? Another huge thank youif you're the New England Patriots, because
oh my goodness, was this secondarybrutal last year. But Devin Witherspoon cornerback
out of Illinois falls all the waydown to the Patriots, and Bill Belichick
says, thank you. So Ihave them going offense here with all the
(48:29):
drama that I've heard that Mac Joneskind of isn't in the right place mentally,
the least you can do is tryto get him some protection. And
this is where I have Peter Scronskygoing out of Northwestern, because they need
help at the offensive tackle and thisis a good way to go right here.
As much as they want to runthe ball, they can he can
improve in that particular field, butsuper athletic good at protecting the blindside,
(48:53):
So Peter Scronsky could definitely be agood steal here. Another scenario where Bill
Belichick could say thank you all.I think either way, the Patriots are
going to get a guy that theyneed, whether it's in that defensive backfield,
whether it's on that offensive line Cory, but I really feel that they're
going to get a guy that istop ten talent. Is going to fall
all the way to them at fourteen, and that's why I had Witherspoon following
(49:15):
there. So fifteenth overall now heldby the New York Jets, and this
is where I have Roderick Jones goingout of Georgia, has strength, quickness,
and just a good way to beefup the old line with Rogers coming
in. Maybe not necessarily, DavidBaktiari, but it can be a good
can come be a good player.Nonetheless. Yeah, I mean this is
(49:36):
a pick that I had to switchseveral times, especially before the trade.
But I know this one's probably gonnabe a little bit early. I might
get a little crucified for this one, but they gotta give Rogers some protection.
Darnell Wright, offensive lineman out ofTennessee. I love his size,
I love his athleticism. But likeyou said, Corey, and some of
these mock drafts, they've had himpretty late in the first round. But
(49:57):
yeah, I think fast off ofwhat I had still on the board here,
he's going to be the best offensivelineman on the board. And it's
not necessarily going to be a reachhere because he's been able to sneak his
way into the top twenty in someof these drafts here because some people have
Tampa Bay taking him, some peopleeven at Pittsburgh taking a flyer on him.
So maybe a little early, butnot necessarily a reach. Yeah,
(50:20):
No, definitely not so sixteenth overall, you still have Washington in the spot.
So who the Commander's taking in youreyes? Once again? Another one
I was back and forth on backand forth, but that defensive line outside
of Chase Young, it's just absolutelyatrocious. So I think they're going to
try to give Young some help inthe middle here. Brian Breecy defensive tackle
out of Clemson. Once again, maybe a little bit early, but I
(50:43):
think that's where they're going to bolster. And this is a guy that's kind
of been a pick as to whocan fall out of the first round here.
I mean, there's a there isa good bit to like about him.
It's just maybe he wasn't in theright fit of Clemson and there's just
a lot going against him, butstill a very good chance that he could
end up being a first rounder.Yeah he could. I mean, like
(51:04):
I said, there was a lotof people or you might have just mentioned
this, but yeah, there wasa lot of people that had him fallen
completely out of the first round. So I mean, but yeah, I
think this is the Commanders are goingto take the gamble on him. So
as a recap on sixteen for mypredictions, I have Washington trading up with
Vegas to number seven. So Ihave Vegas at sixteen, and they're gonna
go with the defensive back. Butas I said, they're unconventional. They
(51:27):
knowing them, they're gonna do somethingthat's completely off kilter here though, So
they do go defensive back, butthey go Deontay Banks out of Maryland.
It's something they need, as Isaid, And it's just really no knock
on Banks that they want to gounconventional with this pick. He's a freak
athlete and very physical. Just that'sto find a way to stay healthy.
Yeah, he really does. Imean, yeah, there, he's a
(51:49):
great pick. I haven't been inmy first round, I will say that,
but yeah, I mean, definitelya good pick there. So seventeen
we go to the Pittsburgh Steelers.Here. As much as I want them
to take Darnell Right, as muchas I want them to keep building the
pick at fence, so to say, with this pick, I feel like
they're going to be too high strungnow to take Joey Porter out of Penn
(52:15):
State because defensive back is also aglaring need. Even though you did get
Patrick Peterson in free agency. Greatgreat improvement. Improvement by far, and
it does pay to be a legacyas well, so great improvement at that
position. Hard to complete passes against, maybe a tad bit physical, but
I just feel like I just feellike Pittsburgh at this point might be too
(52:37):
dead set to try and get JoeyPorter Jr. Yeah. I felt the
same way there on that one,but I just couldn't do it. I
said there, I said, Ijust don't think. I don't know,
there was something there was that onelittle inkling that said I don't think they're
gonna take him. Yeah, Iwould love to see them take Joey Porter.
Bob would also like to see themtake this pick one more receiver in
(52:59):
their Quinton Johnson, the wide receiverout at TCU. It's just been an
absolute beast this year, and Imean, I would love to see the
Steelers. I know they got AlanRobinson, now they resigned Boykin, but
they still a lot of talk aboutthe Steelers having to build that receiving corps.
I'd like to see them take Johnsonhere. Yeah, I would have
gone receiver if they would have endedup doing something with Deonte Johnson. It's
(53:22):
just that they't They didn't really doanything with him. George Pickens has caught
on and like you said, theyhad Alan Robinson, so that's why I
went with the other side of theball. But yeah, I agree.
So eighteen overall, this is thesecond pick for Detroit and this is one
that they owned naturally because the sixthoverall pick was from the Los Angeles Rams.
So at eighteen, who you haveDetroit taking with their second first round
(53:44):
pick? Call me crazy, butI have them sticking with the secondary here,
not necessarily a defensive back, buta safety Brian Branch, safety out
of Alabama here. I think they'regoing to continue to build that defensive backfield.
See Branch is another guy and that'skind of been all over the play
and he kind of doesn't deserve thatbecause because he is a top ten talent,
no doubt. But yeah, butI don't have them going because I
(54:07):
had them going defense with their firstJail Carter. But I say they go
offense this time around, and theytake Dalton Kincaid, the tight end U
of Utah, especially after training awayHawkinson, you really could use a tight
end, maybe not the best runblocker, but a solid blocker nonetheless to
go with some great athleticism. Yeah. I mean, like I said,
the only thing that I had onKincaid was his an experience. I mean,
(54:29):
I think he's gonna be a phenomenalI think he's gonna have a long,
prolonged career in the NFL. Ithink he's gonna be maybe not a
pro bowler, but he's going tobe pushing for it. But um,
yeah, I think that would bea great pick for the Lions. But
like I said, they're another teamthat I've questioned a lot of their picks.
I would not be surprised if theywent back to back defensive players.
So nineteenth overall, the Tampa BayBuccaneers a lot of shakeup after Tom Brady
(54:52):
retiring. You get Baker Mayfield andfree agency, along with a couple other
moves as well. Now, definitelya variety of ways that they could go
right here, but in the end, I think they get some offensive line
help. This is where I havethem taking Darnell right out of Tennessee.
Definitely more raw than the other offensivelineman that we've talked about so far,
(55:13):
but he's had some pretty huge performancesin college against some of the better defenders
in this draft, including Will Anderson. So you like what you see out
of him, Yeah, I meanthat's I love him too. That's why
I had him going a little bitearlier than that. But the Bucks they
need some help in that backfield there. This is where b John Robinson comes
off the board for me, runningback out of Texas. So rounding out
(55:34):
the top twenty, we have thenaturally owned pick for Seattle because they had
the fifth overall pick, but thatwas from Denver with the Russell Wilson trade.
So twentieth overall Seattle. Who yougot, Chris, I have Seattle
making a trade. Oh okay, and they're gonna go in a trade with
the Bengals, And unfortunately for Steelerfans, this is where Joey Porter comes
(55:58):
off the board because they need alot of help in that defensive backfood.
Now, there's a lot of holesin the Bengals right now. I think
they addressed some of it in thelast few drafts with that offensive line,
but they really have a lot ofholes in the secondary here, and I
think they're going to trade up togo Joey Porter. Corey. I'm not
going to give away too much here, but I'm gonna actually have a run
on defensive backs here. That wouldjust be a gut check to see Joey
(56:21):
Porter to go to any of theAFC North rivals, let alone going to
Cincinnati here. But I have Seattle'sstanding pat right here and maybe a little
bit of a surprise right here. But they could use a tight end,
So I had them going Michael Mayerout of Notre Dame by far the best
overall tight end in the class. He's just not going to blow you away
with a speed or anything like that, but this is going to be a
(56:44):
very solid pick up here for anoffer for the offense and give Geno Smith
another target to throw too, becausey'a already got two good ones in Metcalf
and lock It. Yeah, Imean this is this would be amazing for
them if they can get that tightend. Because was it Olsen that they
had up there for a little while? Yeah, yea, they have had
some run runs on some pretty goodtight ends, so yeah, I could
definitely see them at in Mayer here. So twenty first overall, got the
(57:07):
La Chargers here. Of course, this is where we skip over Miami,
but maybe because they don't have afirst rounder because of the tampering stuff.
So LA chargers. I had themgetting some help for Mike Williams, taking
the pressure off of him. Igot Zay Flowers going off the board here
from Boston College. Has the speedthat they need. Got to expand the
catch radius a little bit if youwant to take that pressure off Mike Williams.
(57:29):
But this could be it. Thiscould definitely provide that second wide receiver
that they could really need. Yeah, absolutely, indeed. I mean I
can definitely see that with them. There's a lot of good things that you
see out there, but I havethe Chargers, Like I said, I
might have a little bit of arun here on defensive backs. I think
this is where Kelly Ringo comes offthe board. Another one that's kind of
flirted with that end of first round, beginning of second round. But I
(57:52):
think the cornerback from Georgia, hecomes off the board here, and before
we get to twenty second. Overall, Pirates do take care of the series
win beating LA six two. Soso the high train can keep on going
in Pittsburgh. Well, I thinkthe good times can keep on rolling.
So back to the first round predictions. Here Baltimore at number twenty two.
(58:14):
At the moment, I'm just sonervous that we're going to get news of
a Lamar Jackson trade, either atsome point right now or after we record,
because we're very infamous for that. There's some big news that happens after
we record more times than not.But at the moment, Baltimore still at
twenty two, so he got Continuingmy run on cornerbacks here, I've really
(58:37):
fought with this one because you stillhave Deontay Banks on the board quarterback out
of Maryland, you know, nottoo far away from Baltimore there. But
they've been pretty high on Cam Smith, the defensive back out of South Carolina.
They've been there's been a lot ofconversations with him, they've interviewed him.
So I'm wondering if possibly they couldbe that he could be the guy
to bolts through that defensive backfield. So I have them going offense here and
(59:00):
bolstering up the receiving corps here. This is where I have Quentin Johnston out
of TCU now definitely has the sizeof Mike Evans, but more times than
not, Mike Evans has that dogin him. Quentin Johnston Morse has that
puppy in him. Yeah, he'snot an emotional guy at all. Like
(59:21):
but yeah, I mean he justhe plays big, but he has that
size, just not the tenacity. No, he really doesn't. And that's
what I'm hoping that they can lighta fire under him when he gets the
NFL. I think he's gonna bea pro bowler. I'm calling it now.
I mean, I love the waythat he played at TCU. He
had a great quarterback in Max Dugan. But yeah, I I could really
see him making a huge flash forthe Ravens. Yeah, has the playmaking
of Bill and he no doubt justgot to find a way to assert himself
(59:45):
because eventually he may have to endup being called upon as the number one
guy. Yeah he might. Imean it's very well possible. You know,
we talked about Rashaud Bateman being onthe trading block here. I mean,
they have awesome tight end corps.I mean you have Mark Andrews,
Isaiah likely they have a lot ofguys that can go to in that tight
end position. But this gives youa guy on the outside. Now,
so twenty third overall held by Minnesota, I've definitely seen a lot of scenarios
(01:00:09):
that they can get a lot ofplayers that could go with. This has
been a popular landing spot for HendonHooker as well because Kirk Cousins is getting
towards the end of his contract andmaybe take a flyer on developing somebody for
a year. But in the endI had them going Colijah Cancy the defensive
tackle out of Pith, because thisis a big time need here for Minnesota.
(01:00:30):
Maybe not as polished as Aaron Donald, but Colijah has been compared to
Aaron Donald and you can definitely understandwhy. Yeah. Absolutely, he was
another guy that you know, Ikind of kept flirting with in that first
second round, and I mean justphenomenal defense there. But you know,
that could definitely be a huge pick. Because you mentioned the defensive front,
the defensive backfield also needs some worktoo. I mean there's a lot of
(01:00:53):
holes in that Vikings defense. They'renot the Vikings defensive old that's for sure.
So who do you end up havingat the Minnesota Does the run on
cornerbacks continue? Yes, this ismy last corner that I have a run
on. This is where Deante Banksgoes off the board and really bolsters that
defensive backfield. That could end upthat could be one of the better steals
in the draft if that happens.Yeah, So twenty fourth overall, Jacksonville,
(01:01:16):
who you got over here? Thisis where I have Michael Mayer coming
off the board, the tight endfrom Notre Dame, because yeah, there's
just not much going on down therein Jacksonville in that tight end position.
Now, granted, they don't usethe tight end very very often, and
Evan Ingraham didn't necessarily have a badseason, but at the same time,
who knows how long he's going tokeep it up. Yeah, and he's
got I mean, he's got alot of injury problems too. So I
(01:01:38):
think this is where they'll take Mayoroff the board. So I say they
try to bring Saxonville back here bygoing with an edge rusher. This is
where I have Miles Murphy out ofClemson going Jay, like I said,
one of those players that has beenall over the board, but has been
all over the board in the firstround just because he hadn't didn't necessarily have
a strong season this past season. But great speed, great size, and
(01:02:01):
definitely somebody jack Jacksonville could use inthis defense. They really can't. I
mean there's a lot of holes inthat Jacksonville defense. But this was one
of the ones where I was kindof like, ah, there's a ton
of defensive ends that should be availablelike later in the second or third round.
This is where Jacksonville could potentially grabeither one or two of those guys.
(01:02:22):
But yeah, I mean that's stuckwith Mayer on that one in that
tight end position. I'm you know, but who knows. I mean,
they could run that double type formationas well. So twenty fifth overall is
held by the New York Giants, but I have them making a trade here
with Cincinnati. So I have Cincinnatiat twenty five, and it's no secret
(01:02:44):
that they are really desperate for asafety after losing Von Bell and Jesse Bates.
So they're gonna be that deferent thatdesperate to make this trade with New
York because they need to find away to get Brian Branch with him falling
as far as I have him falling, Brian Branch going to Cincinnati here,
not much to be nitpicky about withthis guy. It's just some other prospects
(01:03:07):
getting more attention here, but Branchgreat football IQ, definitely something Cincinnati could
use here. Yeah, I agree. I mean that defensive backfield has just
been. Like I said, youlose those two guys in the safety position.
The cornerbacks were just burnt toasts lastyear. So yeah, there's there's
a lot of ways you definitely couldhave gone in that one, but I
stuck with the Giants here. Thisis probably gonna be my most surprised pick
(01:03:30):
of the first round because I hadhim actually ranked up in about the forties
here, But there's something about himand the Giants have had a lot of
conversations with him as well. NolanSmith, a defensive end out of Georgia.
I think this is where he's goingto go head off the board here.
I mean, I know I've beenI mean Jalen Carter and another and
just another one of these guys here, Nolan Smith, that has been all
(01:03:52):
over the place in the first round. Yeah, like I said, I
I didn't even have him ranked.Like I said, I'm pretty sure I
had him rank somewhere in the fortieswhen I was doing this, But I
don't know. I just feel likethe Giants are really high on him,
and I think this is where ahe'll come off the board. So twenty
sixth overall being held by America's team, so to say, Dallas Cowboys.
(01:04:13):
So you got the Cowboys taken, you got I almost I could be completely
wrong here. I almost feel likethey have to go receiver here. I
mean it's just been kind of upand down for them. But another surprise
here. I was huge on thisguy. Now it could have been because
Hendon Hooker was throwing the ball tohim. But Jalen Hylott high excuse me,
wide receiver out of Tennessee, anotherone that had battled to injuries throughout
(01:04:36):
the season. I think if hedidn't have those injury problems, you could
make a case for him in thetop fifteen. By think it's where high
will go off the board to theCowboys. So with the departure of Ezekiel
Elliott and with Tony Pollard on afranchise tag, there's been a lot of
buzz saying that Jerry Jones is highon Jamir Gibbs out of Alabama and this
(01:04:59):
is the route that I have themgoing here. They did. He does
well in the passing attack and thisis pretty much what made Pollard thrive last
season. This was is what ledto him being a Cowboy again this season.
So probably shouldn't be the pick here. Maybe some other glaring issues to
address, but Jerry Jones loves thisguy and definitely could be worthy of sneaking
(01:05:20):
into the late past and late partsof the first round. Yeah, absolutely,
indeed. I mean that's a greatpick. But originally, before all
the craziness with Aaron Rogers saga,I originally had Dallas trading up, but
I hadn't been trading up to getb John Robinson. But with them,
with all the drama there, Ithink they kind of decide to stay put
(01:05:40):
here. But yeah, like Icould agree with that because you, like
you said, Jones is high, but I would not make that gamble right
now. But I mean, ifanything gives him Pollard, that's you know,
that's a good name for a lawfirm here. You could call the
backfield the law firm or something there. You go, I like it Texas
Law. Yeah, we'll see howit goes. I just know I've heard
(01:06:01):
some things where Jerry Jones is prettyhigh on Gibbs, and why not take
a shot right here. So twentyseventh overall held by Buffalo, I'm gonna
go with one of my favorite prospectshere in this draft, o Cyrus Torrence,
the guard out of Florida, greatpower, huge, probably needs to
use his length a little bit more, but could be a welcome addition here
(01:06:21):
to the offensive line. Yeah,I could definitely see that. I mean,
he has just been fantastic. Imean Anthony Anthony Richardson's thanked him plenty
of times. Yeah, but Imean, yeah, definitely a great pick.
But for the Bills, though, there is some glaring issues in that
receiving corps again, and I thinkthis is where his A Flowers comes off
the board. I mean, theonly reason I had him following it because
(01:06:44):
he's not he doesn't have the greatestsize, I mean, actually is pretty
darn short. Yeah, but Ithink the Bills here, they're they're gonna
want to get another target for JoshAllen. And I know Gabriel Davis has
had had some flashes of brilliance lastseason, but you definitely need somebody a
little bit more consistent to oppose StefonDiggs over on the other side, and
maybe this could be the way togo. I really yeah, I really
(01:07:05):
think so. There's a lot ofways that Buffalo can go here, but
I think they're going to go aheadand address the receivering corps here, So
one way or another between the bothof us. Cincinnati does not have the
twenty eighth overall pick because you earlierhad them making a trade with Seattle to
go up to number twenty. Soyou have Seattle making their second pick up
(01:07:25):
the first round at twenty eighths. So who you got here? They're gonna
go a linebacking corps here on thisone. Trenton Sipson a huge hole plugger
there. I mean, he's anotherone that's kind of He's a little bit
of a hybrid. He could stepup on the line and kind of be
that fourth or fifth guy on theline, or he can drop back into
that middle linebacking position. But Ithink the Seahawks are going to continue to
(01:07:47):
build the legion of boom there. So in my scenario here, I had
Cincinnati training up to twenty five withNew York to take Brian Branch, So
I have New York the New YorkGiants at twenty eight here. I still
say they addressed the secondary, thoughdefinitely a little bit more underrated here.
But this is a guy that somepeople in some mock drafts had the Steelers
(01:08:09):
taking its seventeen Julius Brents out ofKansas State guy who's been all over the
boards. Like I said, somepeople had the Steelers take him, but
has great length and great speed, just just needs to be a little bit
less stiff when he's moving around.Yeah, I mean he's a definite one.
I had him in the second roundand I mean, yeah, I
could see, yeah, I coulddefinitely see them building up that defensive backhorp
(01:08:31):
once again. But yeah, they'rethe Giants were one of the teams.
I was kind of like looking aroundat them and I'm like, what do
you do? Yeah? Really,I mean there's because you gave Daniel Jones
money, you gave Sekwan perfinitely thefranchise tag. So where do you go?
Yeah, there was a lot todo here, but now I could
definitely agree on that pick. Sotwenty ninth overall pick. Here, New
(01:08:54):
Orleans able to get this pick fromDenver with the Sean Payton trade if I
remember correctly, so they're able toget back in. They're able to get
into the first round after all withthe twenty ninth overall pick, and this
is where I have Nolan Smith goingthe edge rusher out of Georgia. Now
I feel like the big reason whyhe's been all over the place in the
first round is because he's one ofthe smaller edge rushers in the draft and
(01:09:16):
the lightest edge rusher in this draft. So that is definitely going to hurt
him. That speed kills, andhe has speed, he really does.
So my pick for the Saints,I'm going quarterback now. I'm just kidding,
definitely kidding. After that, youlook at their quarterback room, it's
one of the best in the leagueright now, so especially now that they
have a chance with Derek car becausethe NFC South is kind of looking weak
(01:09:39):
at the last Yeah, I meanyeah, So just a little joke there
to throw in here as we're gettingto twenty nine with the Saints. But
Corey, I don't know why Ihad him falling this far, but I'm
gonna go defensive end. But thisis where I had Lucas van Ness.
I don't know if he's gonna fallthat far, but we are in agreement
here that they need a defensive endhere. So now we go to the
(01:10:00):
thirtieth overall pick held by Philadelphias,so their second first round pick at least
in your eyes here, So Chris, who you got, I have them
going Isaiah Foxy here. I thinkthey need the defensive end out of Notre
Dame. I think they need tobolster that defensive end position. But yeah,
so I have him going defensive tackleand defensive end. So why not.
(01:10:23):
So the reason why I say Philadelphiain your eyes is because I have
a trade here. Okay, Sothe recent talk over the last few days
with Buddha Baker requesting a trade withArizona, Philadelphia could use a safety as
well. So this is where Ihave a trade for Buddha Baker happening.
(01:10:43):
So Philly gets their safety and inreturn, Arizona trades back into the first
round. And this is where Ihad them taking Jordan Addison out of USC.
He could improve on his playmaking abilitiesand he didn't necessarily test well in
the combine, but there is nodoubt that this guy can't produce. And
his routes are pretty crisp. Yeahthey really are. And I mean I
had him going a little bit earlier. But I mean just a fantastic guy.
(01:11:05):
I mean I almost feel like, you know, he stood out a
little bit more at pit I felt. But he did have a great season
with USC, and I mean hehad an injury there near the end of
the year. That kind of hinderedhim a little bit, But I don't
know if that was the reason forthe combine. But I think if he's
fully healthy, he's going to bea success, especially with you having him
(01:11:27):
going to Arizona, and because obviouslythere's a lot of DeAndre Hopkins talk,
you know, where is he gonnaend up? Is he going to stay?
Is he going you know, sothere's just a lot of question marks
around in Arizona. So I likethat trade. So final pick of the
first round here, thirty first KansasCity. I do have them going receiver
here. I know there was alittle bit of talk around johsh Downs out
(01:11:48):
of North Carolina, but this iswhere I had them going, with Jalen
Hiatt out of Tennessee. So thelast two bulletinakof Award winners going back to
back here at least in my firstram pretic tall speedy, maybe not Tyreek
speedy, but speedy. Nonetheless, just got to hope that the success from
last year is sustainable because he kindof burst on the scene. Yeah he
(01:12:09):
really did. Indeed. I meanI love that pick for them, but
I had them going a little bitmore protection in this one for Patrick Mahomes,
Anton Harrison, the offensive tackle atof Oklahoma. I kind of I
was back and forth on whether hewas going to go to Pittsburgh or not
too because I know Pittsburgh needs somehelp on the O line. But I
have him here going to the Chiefsin the first round. So we decided
(01:12:30):
to throw in the thirty second overallpick, which would have been Chicago,
but because of the Clayson Chase Claypooltrade, thirty two is held by Pittsburgh.
So we'll throw in the thirty secondoverall pick and for Pittsburgh here since
you have Harrison going out the boardhere for Kansas City, who did they
end up getting? So once again, they like to use these hybrid defensive
(01:12:51):
ends, and I think they needsomebody to complement t J. Watt here,
and I have a feeling Will McDonald, the defensive end out of Iowa
State, six foot three, twohundred and forty. Now, Corey,
if we were going off of baseoff just what his performance was at Iowa
State, I'd say easy second round, yeah, But his Senior Bowl performance,
(01:13:13):
oh, my lord, Like,I don't know how much you can
take out of that, but theway that he was playing that hybrid position
on the defensive end, and thenthey even dropped him back into that middle
linebacker position. I think you cankind of move him around here for the
Steelers and kind of be that ishe going to be t J. Watt?
Absolutely not, But I really feelthat he's going to move into the
early second round here and the Steeler'sgonna want to use him to compliment Watt
(01:13:38):
not gonna lie. I will losemy mind if if the Steelers do go
with an edge rusher at some point, because t J. Watt one of
the best you're ever gonna find.Alex Highsmith breakout season last year. But
if you're not so sure if Highsmithis going to sustain that, I can
definitely see where you're coming from here, Well, then Highsmith's kind of that
hybrid too. I mean, youknow they've lined him up in that line
(01:14:00):
backard position too. It's just it'sso weird the way that the Steelers run
that defense, but I mean itis what makes it the steel curtain strong.
So I mean, like I said, I agree with you. I
don't know if they will, butthis is another guy that they've been kind
of high on. So we'll seewhat happens. So then for my for
for who I have Pittsburgh taking withthe thirty second overall pick, this is
(01:14:21):
where I have them building that pickoffense, so to say, but maybe
with somebody unconventional here, Cody mockout of North Dakota State. Oh yeah,
beaston run blocking. Curious to seehow he does when it comes to
the past. But this is avery underrated prospect here, and I could
(01:14:41):
definitely see Pittsburgh taking a flyer onhim. I really could too. I
had him going early second round.I mean I got to watch him play
a couple of times last year inthe FCS playoffs. But no, I
mean that I think that's definitely notout of reach here. The reason why
I was kind of gooling with theseother positions is this draft for offense of
line is just gonna be insane.Yeah, you're gonna see guys that aren't
(01:15:02):
going to get drafted that we'll getsigned in free agency. That in a
lot of other drafts. Because youhave the one guy from Ohio State two
that's gonna Dwan Jones. Juwan Jones, that's like what six foot eight,
almost four hundred pounds. He's huge, but yeah, you have him.
Matthew bergeron out of Syracuse is anotherone. There's just so many. Oh,
(01:15:23):
this is if you're an offensive lineman, this is not a good draft
for you because, yeah, yougot some guys that probably aren't gonna get
taken there could probably go fift six, seventh round and other drafts here,
and this is gonna be a hugedraft for defensive backs. And like I
said, they're wide receivers and that'skind of another reason why I didn't really
have some of the guy receivers goingin the first round, Corey. But
I think this is gonna be andyou could really tell buyer picks like we
(01:15:45):
were kind of completely off here.I really think it's gonna be a crazy
draft. Yeah, aside from thefirst three picks. Once we got the
four there, that's where the chaoskind of sort of began here and before
I wrap up right here because itjust hit me because when you've been talking
for over an hour, your brainjust turns into mush. But I'm looking
(01:16:06):
through your first round here, Chris, because because I wrote them down,
trying to see if we can recapand see how accurate we are. No.
Will Levis in the first round.Yeah, I mean, I don't
know. It's just I had himoriginally going to the Jets, and then
when after they made the Aaron Rodgerstrade, I was like, outside of
Washington, I don't really know ifthere's anybody else that's in dire need of
(01:16:28):
a quarterback right now. I mean, could could Washington potentially went ahead and
Hooker, Yeah, but I thinkthere were some other areas they wanted to
address, for even Houston for thatmatter, Yeah, and even Houston.
But yeah, I mean, Ireally, I really think Levis is gonna
be He's gonna be Geno Smith twopoint zero. He's gonna fall in to
the second round. I have afeeling I could be completely wrong and he
could be taken forth overall by indiars. I mean I can I could definitely
(01:16:54):
understand the theory of being Geno Smithtwo point zero because because like I said,
didn't necessarily had the best year atKentucky this past season. Now was
injured for a little bit. He'sat Kentucky, so he's not necessarily working
with the best stuff here, somaybe had to do a little bit too
much. But there has been acouple of mock drafts here lately that don't
(01:17:15):
have Will Levis in the first round, so you're so you probably won't be
looking too crazy here if this happens. Yeah, and it come to think
of it too, I mean,he was the type of guy when he
first began his career too, hewas mainly just used as a running quarterback,
and then he kind of got intothe passing game recently. So yeah,
I mean, I hope I'm wrong. I love the kid. I
think he's an absolutely great quarterback.I hope I'm wrong here, but we
(01:17:38):
shall see what happens. You justnever know how the first round is going
to go. It's the most polarizingpart of the draft, it's going to
get the most attention here, somight as well have a little bit of
fun with it and see if wecan definitely look into the crystal ball and
be somewhat accurate here. So we'lllook over it here next week and recap
some of the picks we like, didn't like, and how accurate we were
(01:17:59):
with our predictions next week. Butit's just a little fun thing to do
around this time of the year.So that's gonna put an end to our
episode here. The choptop Pot guys, where you wanted to say, someone's
gonna say if folks, if youcan't get to a TV or anything,
