Vanessa and Alex first met on Bumble after Vanessa recently got out of a long-term relationship. They both texted and Facetimed each other all the time and actually just went on their first in-person date this past Thursday. Vanessa and Alex went out to dinner and according to Vanessa nothing felt awkward and Alex even paid for their dinner. Vanessa tells us they didn’t kiss at the end of the night, but she felt like everything went well, but ever since their date she hasn’t heard back from Alex and she isn’t really sure why.

We call Alex trying to figure out if there is anything else between him and Vanessa that happened that may have caused things to go wrong and he tells us that he wasn’t a fan of how Vanessa reacted to him ripping the tag off her dress. Find out what’s really going on in this Second Date Update!

Some turns on and your morning showin turned John in your Morning Show.
Second date, up date. Yougo on date with somebody, you feel
the vibe. They don't talk toyou. Afterwards, they all call,
they all text. We try tofigure out exactly what's going on. We
bring her back on Vanessa good morning, Hey, good morning. So walk

(00:20):
me through this girl you had justrecently gotta have a long term relationship.
So we're kind of getting back inthe dating pool. And what happened?
Yeah, so I got bumble.Um. I don't know. I thought
it was were trying and I metthis guy on there and we were talking

(00:41):
back and forth um for a while, and you know, I thought,
at the best good and we umdid like a good FaceTime date kind of
before we met up. Sure umon that I thought it was good.
I gotta called on so look,I'm very confused. I thought of it
was fine. But anyways, yeahit was I guess good enough. Did

(01:04):
he asked me um for like areal in person date. And so that
was last Thursday. Okay, thatwe went out. So let's pause for
a second. So with the FaceTimedate, because that is a huge test
and like face times can be awkward. Did it feel like the conversation just
flowed easily? I thought so,Like the first couple of minutes it was

(01:26):
a little bit I don't know,I feel like facetimes a little bit actually
more awkward than in person. Andso the first couple ofs were a little
weird. But we were on therefor like an hour. Got okay,
So yeah, it was I feltreally good. We come back and forth,
you know for a while. Atthe end of it was like,
well, do you want to meetup in person? And we went from

(01:47):
there and planned a real date.Got you and so real date. We
got dinner. How's dinner go?Again? I thought, really good?
And it was you know, therewas nothing awkward because we had done the
FaceTime day. So we talked andwe kind of you know, had things
to build upon, you know,to talk about further. It wasn't just
all small talk. Um, Ithought, you know, he was he

(02:10):
was a gentleman. He offered topick me up and drive me and all
that stuff. And um, Isee that, you said. I was
asked, okay, same mind here. So you offered a pay or you
did pay? I offered, um, you know, just kind of to
be politely nice, and he waslike, no, no, no,
no, I asked you on adate. Of course I'm going to pay

(02:30):
for it, which you know Ithought was nice. Um, yeah,
kiss afterwards at the end of thedate was our kiss. Um we hugged
goodbye. It wasn't a kiss,okay, um, but that's I don't
I don't know. I didn't thinkthat was weird, like I often don't
kiss on a first date. Andthey so here we are now a couple
of days removed, and he hasn'tresponded. You've you've actually reached out yourself

(02:53):
and he hasn't responded. Yeah.So I waited like twenty four hours because
I wanted him to reach out first. But after like a day, I
was like, you know what, whatever, I'm being weird. I'll just
text him. And then there wasno response. And then like I tried
one more tech I thought. Iwas like, okay, I'll just I'll

(03:15):
try calling and if I don't hearback, like then okay, there's my
answer. So I'm called. Ididn't get him an answer, okay,
and I was like, well,I can't leave it at that, so
I'm calling you guys. That's fine, okay, so let me do this.
Um, I'll call him right now, try getma go on do because
it sounds like everything went fine.I'm a little bit confused because there's nothing

(03:36):
that's overtly to me like, oh, that'd be the reason. Let's try
and get him real quick. Icall him for Alex please is hey man,
it's that interns youhn. I gotSauce and Rose here as well.
Can we talked to you in theair real quick about something? Sure,

(03:58):
I'm bad, I appreciate we're doingthis second date update. I have somebody
on the other line who went ona date with you last Thursday, Vanessa,
if you want to stay hello,Hi, perfect, And so the
reason we're here Alex is Vanessa toleus time you guys. The story Masham
Bumble, had the talk on theFaceTime, had the dinner last week,
and it sounds like you're very geminelyand everything went well. So we're trying

(04:20):
to figure out why we haven't reachedout for another date. Um, well,
this is awkward. Um No,I had a really nice time as
well. I thought that the FaceTimeactually that was really good as well,
and we had we connected and hada lot of things in common. Honestly,

(04:42):
and I, you know, obviouslywasn't trying to be rude about this,
but it was just we were outand when we were leaving the restaurant,
I noticed that Vanessa on the backof her collar like sort of sticking
out was a tag um you know, the you know, the price on

(05:03):
the back of the label. Andso it was just one of those things
where it was like I noticed thatother people were looking at like at her
neck, and I didn't really understandwhat was going on. And then when
we got up at TI leave,I could see that it was there,
and so I sort of tried tononchalantly just like just sort of rip it
off so that you know, peopleyou know. And Vanessa did not like

(05:29):
that, okay, and she gotpretty I think it's fair to say,
um sort of aggressively. Did yourip the clothes or why was she upset?
Uh? No, Um, Idon't think I did. From what
I could tell, it was justyou know, the paper, not them.
It seemed like she was saying thatshe was planning on returning it,

(05:51):
which okay, no judgment, like, if that's your thing, cool,
but I just it was one ofthose things that like I did not realize
that was the plan. Again,It's just very quickly it turns evolved,
and so I just for me anyway, it was just one of those things
that I sort of felt like itwas a little bit of a canary in
the coal mine. Okay, wow, let me ask you, Vanessa your

(06:14):
thoughts. Vanessa? Hey, yeah, no, I mean, does that
right? I'm not quite easy.Like if I'm getting a nice dress,
then I'm not gonna wear again.I don't really want to invest that money,
you know what I'm saying, Likethat's a lot of money for one
dress. I'm gonna wear one time. Yeah, okay, I'm not gonna

(06:38):
wear it again? What on oursecond dates? That'd be weird? Okay,
all yeah, obviously I was gonnareturn it. All right, So
let me justus. I'm gonna poutyour ass and hold are you team Vanessa?
Our team? Alex eight seven sevennine nine five four six eight one
to call me nine nine three eighthattacks Second date Updates Intern John in your
Morning show? Second date update,Intern John your Morning Show. We just
talked to you. Vanessa and Ala. They had a dinner date after the

(07:01):
day. I guess he knows shehad a tag on her shirt, he
ripped it off. She was upsetbecause she was trying to return said item.
Whose side are you on? Eightseven seven, nine nine five four
sixty eight one to call me?Nine nine three three eight to text while
we gets she on hold Shelby SauceNews, member of the show. Your
thoughts. Okay, I'm the worst. I'm I feel split. Okay,

(07:21):
I don't. I don't like that. He just so, so, why
are you team Vanessa? I am? I'm telling you. I'm telling you
I'm team Vanessa because I wouldn't likeit if someone just like ripped off the
I mean, okay, it's noteven the ripping off the tag. It's
just like, you know, Idon't like to be touched by people I
just met. Sure, so likeI would not like that. So I
probably would have like maybe reacted likelike a cat, like I've been like,

(07:44):
yeah, know, she's it soundslike she overreacted. Yeah, I'm
team Alex. I think it's gross. She's returning close. She wears it
sounds like a very normal habit forher, and that's just nasty. Yeah.
Okay, So couple of things. And so if it was a closer,
if they were closer though, couldhe take the tag off? Or
is it because they just met?Like I have, Like, how many
times have I come to work inthe past where I've just still had like

(08:07):
a tag on a dress and someonewill just tell me, yeah, you
know, like Eric usually would justbe like, yo, Sauce, you
got a tag on you wait sixhours later then tell you either way someone
tells me, nobody's like coming upbehind me and like trying to just like
rip it off, and like,I have long hair, you can rip
off. Because I have had peoplein the past and it's it's usually it's
my friends. It's never been afirst date where they've ripped off a tag.

(08:28):
Not Did I have tags on myclothes all the time? Sure?
You SMAs one something like that,Yeah, and it's like, you know
my hair might get ripped out.Yeah, okay, that's fair too.
I rose your thoughts, yeah,to go off of that. I would
never go up to you, Sauceand be like, just rip a tag.
I would be like, hey,you have a tag, juice.
You can't told me that. Youhave come up behind me and you're like,
hey, by the way, youhave a tag still on your outfit,

(08:50):
which I like I feel like, especially for a first date, you
don't go and rip the tag.You say, hey, did you know
you have a tag? Because like, like sauced, I don't want someone
I just met touching me. Butalso like, if you can't afford the
clothes, don't like It's never beenin my mind to be like, oh
I can't afford this dress, butlet me buy it and then return it

(09:13):
for one date exactly. She veryspecifically was like, I bought this like
for the date, and I wasgoing to return that to me just is
a little off. Also, didyou buy it if you plan on return
it? Guys? My only thingis I've ripped tags off my own clothes
before, and ripped the clothes,so if I thought like something that Molly

(09:35):
was wearing, I sure as hellwouldn't because I'm not trying to destroy something
that's expensive. I'm saying exactly, let me go, christ and good morning,
good morning. Would you want tosay a second date update? All
right? I get all round upwith you as you whatever, So okay,

(09:56):
thoughts and rows are right, likeit's in the for yus ago and
heart attack off somebody's clothes, likeyou just don't do that, that's that's
say he made a like panic becausepeople were like staring at her or commenting
or something. However, no,you how immature are you? Like?
Row up? Buy clothes you canafford, and there's no reason to only

(10:18):
wear it once. Like, it'snot a wedding dress. You you can
wear a dress more than one time. Why do people think that if appropriate
to take back a dress with yourpitch stains and your okay yeah, yes,
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, Christen, thank you
so much for calling a fantastic day. Not disagreeing, but I think this

(10:43):
is why you always wash clothes beforeyou wear the mouse. Yes, I
let me get a beautiful Waldorf Brandon, good morning, Good morning, How
are you good? Thank you? What do you want to stay with?
Second date update? Um, soI totally see where she's coming from,
but like, what a nice guyto remove the tag? Yeah, and
I didn't. I guess. Anotherquestion I have is like, was this

(11:05):
stress like three thousand dollars or wasshe super cheap and wanted to return a
sixty dollars. That's a really goodquestion. It so really good question,
Bran. Yeah, because it waslike, yeah, yeah, I have
friends to do the same thing, and I don't necessarily agree with it,
but it's like if the guy seesthe tag, let him return it,

(11:26):
like you don't want to look supercheap and your first day. Sure,
I agree, Brand, Thank youso much for calling a fantastic day.
You too, may let me goyou do. Brittany good Marning, good
morning. See you're on team neither. Yeah, okay, why is that?

(11:46):
It's kind of like Rose. It'skind of like Rose in a way,
like they're both kind of like,Okay, why are you touching her?
You know, just say it Andshe also could have reacted a different
way, like you don't have toget mad, just like make a joke
out of it. Yeah, yeah, I agree. Agree, Britney,
thank you so much for calling ita fantastic day. There's a lot of

(12:07):
texts coming in. Somebody said teamVanessa for show. Somebody said she's shady,
Team Alex all the way. Uh. Somebody else said team Alex returning
clothes as a plan after where youuh as somebody else said a show,
you're trying to be somebody you're not. Somebody else texted in goot trees,
which is why they do it.They texted it in yeah, but that's

(12:35):
not appropriate. Now we talked aboutin the show like a couple like maybe
a month or so, go aboutthat because the things are so hot and
so what people are trying to doto like avoid that kind of stuff?
Stop it? Yeah, the clothething again, this is why. And
maybe dudes, we just figured outwe just don't try and clothes ever,
just don't don't even do it.And does that mean that we have a
ton of clothes that we're gonna quoteunquote return someday in the closet? Yes?

(12:56):
Will we absolutely not, but Inever will. We're at least telling
ourselves that we we're gonna return it. You have like a whole pile Oh
yeah on the chair. I havea whole pile right now. And just
like my wagon, I saw yourway down your Instagram yesterday. No,
it's a different wagons, it's similar. It's my grandma's wagon. Then borrowing
how many wagons are currently having yourapartment size? Okay, how were we

(13:16):
talking? How many toddlers can youfit in the wagons? Um? I
think that my grandma's wagon I couldfit like maybe two, My wagon probably
four. Okay, that's pretty solid. We can try lay maybe like six
Charlie's in one cue. Okay,I think that weld watch that absolutely.
