With continuing pressure coming down on PresidentBiden to step aside for the upcoming election,
We're asking on our social media channelsif you think he should. Right
now, nearly sixty percent of respondentsare saying he should drop out of the
race, with about one third sayingno, stay in and the remainder being
unsure. The pressure for him tostep aside coming from many in his own
party following the recent debate. Performanceon with us now in the koa comment

(00:22):
Spirit Health Hotline for a localized angleon all of this. Colorado Democratic Party
char At Shad Europe Shad, Weappreciate you coming on with us this morning.
I'll ask you our social media question, do you think the president should
stay in or step aside? Well, good morning, Marty, thank you
for having me on. But PresidentBiden has made clear that he's staying in
this race, and I support theBiden Harris ticket as do most Democrats.

(00:42):
And look, on one hand, this is an important conversation for us to
have and shows that the Democrats area healthy political party, not a cult
of personality like the GOP. Buton the other hand, the conversation needs
to come to an end. DonaldTrump has thirty four felamy convictions and his
fledg Caribware freedoms with Project twenty twentyfive, a playbook mentic in sallid as
US presidency into a quasi dictatorship forDonald Trump. And this is not a

(01:03):
drill. They are being open aboutwanting to undermine our democracy. So if
anyone's to drop out, it's DonaldTrump. Have you heard the conversation continuing
though in the localized perspective of thisfrom our local lawmakers. Is that being
some Is that something that's being discussed. You know? The thing that we're
hearing the most is that folks areextremely concerned that Donald Trump seems to lie
his way through almost every single interviewand every single opportunity has to speak to

(01:29):
the public. And what I've foundthat most people are concerned about there is
that he's a convicted felon who's promisingmore restrictions on voting. He's pledged to
rip away the Affordable Care Act inabort and rice and gives bullies like food
and whatever they want. And solocally people are concerned about Donald Trump's intentions
for the White House. But thefact is that President Biden kept Space Command
in Colorado Springs when Trump tries torip it away. We created over three

(01:52):
hundred thousand new jobs in Colorado andinvested billions in rural areas across the state
under the Biden administration. You know, just four years ago, under Donald's
we were struggling to find toilet paperin grocery stores. Yeah, shout out.
I get the whole thing about thecultist feel of the Trump thing.
But this is where I push backa little bit. Isn't it a little
cultish by the Democrats to say, don't question if the man you can do

(02:15):
the job. He's doing the job. And aren't they in denial of what
they saw a couple thursdays ago andtrying to cover this up. To me,
that's cult to personality, not reallywhat's doing for the betterment for the
country as well by denying what theysaw. No, Marty, I think
we have to respect what people saw. On The President himself said he had
a bad debate and as been proudof his performance. And that's why I

(02:36):
said, it's a healthy conversation forthe Democrats to be having compared to the
Republican Party, where Marty I wouldput back on you and say I haven't
heard a single Republican say that DonaldTrump woul drop out of the race even
though he's been credibly accused and convictedon thirty four felon accounts a long history
of sexual harassment, and look, the Biden administration has a clear record of
success here in Colorado, lowest unemploymentrate for women in our lifetime, lowest

(03:00):
unemployment for Hispanics and Latinos in ourlifetime, lowest on insurred rate in our
lifetime, lowest poverty rate. We'regoing to win Colorado and we're going to
win the presidency because the president hasdelivered for this country. Do you have
concerns when it comes to looking atthe November ballot? A lot of people
look at that top card, theylook at the president, and they're going
to vote on who they feel. However, that can have a trickle effect
when it comes to our local lawmakers, when it comes to the Democratic Party

(03:23):
here or the Republican Party. Areyou concerned about any of the local Democratic
elections based on what we've seen withPresident Biden's performance. You know, we
just saw unbelievable fundraising from folks likeAdam Frick and you, Derek Carveo,
And it's because their message is resonatingwith voters because they put their districts before
politics, and so we are veryproud at the Democratic Party that are elected

(03:46):
assisiles. You know, they legislatewith their district in mind first, not
their party label. And so no, I'm not concerned about the Democrats' ability
to succeed in November because U foldthis yesterday, so that the president is
leading Donald Trump by ten points herein Colorado, that's going to have great
impact for the ticket up and downthe ballot. We're also focusing on rural
areas and places like Alamosta and whareFano and part in Grand County. These

(04:09):
are places that we're investing dollars andputting resources that we've never competed in before.
And that's because the Democratic Party isexpanding our reach. We're welcoming folks
into our tent. Meanwhile, theRepublican Party is drinking and becoming irrelevant in
the States. Well, shadd it'sone thing if he's winning Colorado the president,
but in every other poll, andI know there's a certain healthy skepticism

(04:30):
with him, but President Biden andall the key states is behind and became
more so after that debate performance.I mean, again, this is where
you can't deny even if you wantto say, well, it's a poll
and it's early and it's a smallsample size, but you can't deny the
data you're seeing in front of you. Again, going back that whole thing
of saying you alledge on one side, there's a cultish field. I think
that's pretty apparent, but it seemslike there's jersey wearing on the other side

(04:54):
as well, trying to deny whatis actually taking place. Yeah, I
think that's a great point, Marty, and i'd also counter it. Within
twenty sixteen, at this point,Hillary Clinton was cruising to the White House.
And so I think the real issuethat we see is that not a
single elected Republican has asked for DonaldTrump to step aside because they lack the
courage to look in the mirror aboutsupporting a convicted felon who is pledging to

(05:15):
rip away our freedoms. And we'regoing to win this election because we've enjoyed
forty straight months of unemployment at orbelow four percent across this country and again,
nearly three hundred thousand new jobs createdin Colorado under the Biden administration.
And so when people are taking alook at are they better off now than
they were four years ago? I'dagain remind everyone we were suffering in the
midst of a badly handled pandemic response, where folks were getting into fights at

(05:40):
the grocery store over who could buytoilet paper. And that's Donald Trump's legacy
across this country, Chad, andwrapping up with you when it comes to
just the overall putting politics aside, putting the political views aside. Do you
think there is uncertainty in just lookingat the Democratic Party period as of right
now, But besides of who youvote for and who you sway with,

(06:01):
just seeing one thing on one sideand one thing on one another at a
TV station saying this and an articlesaying this, is there uncertainty? Yeah?
I think when you look at theDemocratic Party, our entire platform is
about supporting working people, putting moremoney in your pockets, and supporting democracy
across the globe and making sure thatthe government isn't sitting in your doctor's office
with you. Meanwhile, Donald Trumppromised this to be a dictator on day

(06:24):
one and claims there'll be a bloodbathif he loses. They're threatening to prosecute
political opponents. When asked about ifDonald Trump is going to cut Medicare and
Social Security, he said, oh, we'll be cutting, and he doubled
down saying there's a lot you cando in terms of cutting Medicare and Social
Security. And so that type ofplatform is not going to resonate with Carl
Robin. He's not going to resonatewith Americans. And Donald Trump is promising

(06:46):
a full scale takeover of our democracyand an undermining of our freedoms. And
I just can't believe that Donald Trumphas not been asked to step aside by
a single Republican Well, Shaddon, and my follow up to that in final
question, if Donald Trump is thatexistent threat that you've laid out and a
lot of other people have said, then why wouldn't President Biden when asked the
question by George STEPHANOFFLS saying, look, if you run against Trump and you

(07:08):
lose, how are you going tofeel? He was basically talking about well,
and I'm paraphrasing, I gave itthe old college try. I mean
that that to me is again anotherpart of that disconnect that it seems like
people on your side of the aisleseem to have about this current situation.
You know, I think the Presidentmade clear the threat to democracy last week
after the Supreme Court essentially gave thepresident complete immunity to commit crime. President

(07:29):
Biden said, I'm going to bethe type of president who's going to follow
the law and make sure that we'reacting within the scope of what the Constitution
allows and what people expect to theirpresident, which is someone focused on the
economy, protecting democracy, and keepingthem safe. Meanwhile, Donald Trump is
already appealing to court saying his convictimsdon't count anymore because of the Supreme Court.
So I think the President's made anincredible case for why democracy needs to

(07:51):
be preserved in this country. Andthat's what I am hopeful for that voters
will actually be paying attention to dothis law. Colorado Democratic Party Church Admira,
thank you so much for your timethis morning.
