(00:00):
We head out to the Kwei CommonSpirit Health hotline and bring on Adam Muster
Tiger. You can check him outon Twitter at Adam see him at seven
seven seven and then also he's thepublisher of buff Stampede dot Com. Adam
or All with Dave Logan, AlfredWilliams and Ryan Edwards. Thanks for the
time, man, How are youanytime? You had just touched them back

(00:20):
from Las Vegas? It was aboutone hundred and seventeen the te days we
were out there. But it's hotback here, so it feels like,
oh, you know, I've beenout there during this time and I found
it to be really interesting because theSummer League is going on and there's a
different buzz in the air because ofthe NBA. Did you get that buzz

(00:40):
of the summer league as well?Yeah, there was the buzz all inside
of air conditioned buildings, Adam Man, That's what I'm talking about. You
know, yesterday we started talking aboutCoach Prime and his comments about the University
of Colorado entery into the Big Twelve. One of the things that we didn't

(01:02):
talk about was the priority that heset for the University of Colorado's football team
and that's to protect the quarterback. It sounds like something I guess every offensive
coordinator was say, but in thiscase, the quarterback is the head coach's

(01:23):
son, so to me, itsounded like protect my son. How do
you think the rest of the publicherd that, Well, I'm not sure
how the public herd it, becausesince Coach Prime took over and Boulder,
we've seen a lot of the negativecommentary coming at Colorado, and a small
bit of that is justified, butthe vast majority of it there's a lot

(01:48):
to refute in terms of, well, you want these eyeballs on Colorado,
this is how you get it.And so you're criticizing the method in terms
of Coach Prime being a marketing genius, and we saw Colorado be and Bolder
really be the epicenter of the sportsworld in late September, So there's a
method to the madness there in termsof the offensive line. You know,

(02:13):
when you cover their recruiting as heavilyas I do, you see the talent
coming in and so you see thefloor being risen of that group so much
higher than it was a year agowhen Colorado was relying on a lot of
fcs transfers on the offensive line. They were relying a lot on Juco guys
coming in, and as it turnedout, those guys were not ready for

(02:37):
the big lights that Colorado provided forthem, and they kind of turtled,
to be honest with you, andtheir confidence got shattered and that group got
weaker and weaker as the season wentalong. This group this season, I've
been very confident saying that the floorhas been risen with that group. You've
got a lot of guys that havetransferred in on the offense, a line

(03:00):
that have quality starts at the FBSlevel. And so these are guys that
have played in Indiana and Houston inthe Big twelve and they've played a better
quality of competition than the offensive linemanthey brought in last year. And that
offensive line has come with a mentality. I asked, should do her standards

(03:21):
about the offensive line mentality and howthat's changed, And before I could get
Doney with his answer, Shiloh jumpedin and said, those guys are trying
to start a fight every day,and so that's a good start. You
know that you've got this offensive linethat has got this bravado about them,
confidence about them that their mission isto protect should where standards. Last year,

(03:42):
I think the offensive lines kind ofmo as the season went along was
to try not to get embarrassed. And if that's your m O going on
the football field, good luck, you're not going to have much success.
Other defensive fronts were like shark's smellingblood in the water. But you know
this is a group that the ceilingon that offensive line and how well they

(04:03):
can protect shore Chador is hard tosay. They're not going to give up
fifty six sacks like they did lastyear. But how much further does that
fact total get dropped down when you'vebrought in more talent on the offensive line.
That part is yet to be determined. But if you knocked that down
in half and you're still somewhere inthe mill or even in that nine ten

(04:28):
eleven range of the Big twelve,it's still a huge jump up from last
year. And as we saw, when Chadur has time, he's a pretty
talented quarterback. So, Adam twopart question, I think you probably is
as locked in covering the buffs asanybody. And so first part of the
question is the expectations for this year'steam I think are high. In Boulder,

(04:50):
and I'm quite certain they're high inthe athletic department. The over and
under total has dropped from five anda half to four and a half.
I just want to a get yourtake on that and be best case scenario
and then worst case scenario. Whatdoes Pat Schirmer's offense look like this fall

(05:10):
for the CU Buffs? Yeah, first off, the first part there in
terms of expectations, Dave, I'vecovered a lot of Colorado teams that have
finished five and seven. There's beena lot of them that they are just
so close to both eligibility. Whenyou look at the makeup of this football
team, it's so much better talentwise than those other previous five and seven

(05:33):
teams I've covered at Colorado. SoI want to kind of put the floor
at six and six and what doesthat look like from there? Again,
it depends on the offensive line, and it's hard to know just how much
better they're going to be. They'regoing to be better than last year.
How much better are they going tobe? You bring back a lot of
talent skill wise offensively, So that'skind of where I start in terms of

(05:56):
expectations, and I'm not going toget crazy with my expectations for this team.
You know, a program that hasjust not consistently gone to bowl games.
But you know, in terms ofPat Shermer's offense, it's not going
to look like what he was runningwith the Broncos. He's told the media
many times that you just don't carryas many receivers on an NFL roster,

(06:17):
so you can't spread out teams theway you can in college. And obviously
the spread out hash marks kind ofchange the way you try to get players
in space and try to play thegame out as an offensive coordinator, and
so it's going to look a littledifferently there. And especially you've seen them
not have this priority on the tightend having a big influence on the offense

(06:39):
and unless it comes down to shortyard situations and so the titands they've recruited
that have come into the program havebeen more blocking tight end. So it's
going to be a spread out,ten personnel type offense, but it's going
to be more designed towards what theseguys are comfortable with. Last year was
Sean lu They played an up templeoffense with choice routes and a lot of

(07:03):
things that you need to be onthe same page as a whole complete eleven
personnel on offense, and you knowthey're building this roster through the portal,
and even though some of these guyshave experience in college, they don't have
experience together, so it's hard tomesh that chemistry. When Sean Lewis started
at Kent State, before he hadimmense success there, they went to and

(07:26):
ten, it took them some timeto kind of build that continuity playing that
uptempo style to really keep defenses ontheir toes. Shador Sanders wants to be
on the same page with his guys. He wants to go into the huddle
and say we're going to call thisand know exactly where all his pieces are
going to be. And so that'skind of the change you're going to see
this year, and you're going tosee more designed runs. Last year was

(07:49):
rpo heavy, and you know,Shador didn't see that that mismatches the line
of scrimmage and he opted to holdthe ball and try to attempt to pass
instead last year. And so thisyear it's gonna be you're gonna run Michael
Wells, You're gonna run Isaiah gusIf you're gonna run Dall and Hayden,
the transfer from Ohio State, andit's gonna be more defined offensively than what

(08:11):
we saw last year with the ColoradoBuffaloes. So with all that being said,
and we're chatting here with Adam MunsterTiger, publisher of Bus Stampede,
how do you think CEU stacks upin the Big Twelve in their first year
back. This is one of thoseschedules you get handed to and you kind
of want to do. You pullout your pen and you go win loss,
win loss down that whole schedule.I have not seen a Colorado schedule

(08:35):
with more coin flip games than whatthey have this year. And part of
that is just a parody you seein the Big Twelve. And that's something
that Big Twelfth Commissioner bheret yor Marksaid that he didn't hydepro we have parody.
It's gonna be an entertaining brand offootball. It's not gonna be you
know, Texas and Oklahoma at thetop of the Big Twelve anymore. It's

(08:58):
gonna be all these schools, andin Utah got picked first, and it's
hard to go against that. Theyhave Cam Rising Back at quarterback and they're
always solid in the trenches, sothat seems like a safe pick to go
in with. In Kansas State,it's going to be pretty talented. You've
got Oklahoma State under Mike Gundy, who's going into his twentieth year that has
a lot of continuity and a lotof returning starters. That's probably the top

(09:22):
three, and then you go beyondthat in Colorado could be in that mix.
Again, it depends on the stealingof that offensive line and what they
can do defensively this year. Butyou know, they can go anywhere from
six to six to ten and twoin the regular season. I'd probably lean
more towards the seven and five, just based on again, it's going to

(09:43):
be tough weekend week out in theBig twelve, but there aren't those games
when when Colorado was in the Bigthe Pet twelve, you look at USC,
Oregon in Utah and probably chuck thoseoff as losses. And they do
have a lot of Utah again thisyear, but generally you don't have his
as big a top tier in theBig twelve as you did the Pac twelve.

(10:03):
Adam All is great stuff, man, Thank you so much for the
time. Thanks guys,
