Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome everyone. It is the KSR pre Show for Friday,
November eighth. Shannon the Dude and Billy Rutledge. We are
alive at Corman Marketplace and Corman Kitchen and Bath. Give
us a call on the Clark's Publish Shop phone line
at eight five nine and two eight oh twenty two
eighty seven. It conn be our Whiskey Thief call of
the Day. Send us a text at five two two

(00:20):
six five six six five six KSR pre Show being
brought to you by Italics Fine Italian Donning in Lexington
and Billy. We're here at Corman Kitchen in Bath. I
feel like this is a place where Matt Jones is
going to be hanging out maybe a lot, you know,
in the kitchen because we learned yesterday that he's going
to be learning to cook. Shout out to Donald Trump,
I guess for winning the presidential election. He's going to

(00:41):
try to do that as a new hobby to try
to get away from everything that's going to be happening
politically in the next four years.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Yeah, we'll see, right, we'll see about that. There's a
difference between making a little ramen noodle or ravioli in
the microwave and compared to actually boiling water or making
pasta or doing anything like that.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
So we'll definitely see.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
But I think he's all we're all looking for something
to do maybe in the next year or so.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
So, so what's your level in the kitchen, Like, what's
the most impressive things that you can make? Yeah, I'm
pretty good.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
I'm not bad in the kitchen, you know not chi
Linda Farm sends me beef and I can.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Actually cook it, share it. So we've got a charcoal
grill outside.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
You know, we like to make homemade pasta in our house,
so that that's actually a long process, long drawned out process.
The fiance is doing most of that. But you know
what I would like to say, I'm probably one of
the more experienced of the KSR group when it comes
to cooking.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Sounds like you are. I mean, I can't do much
outside of maybe the grill. I can, you know, throw
some burgers on the grill and maybe some steaks stuff
like that. I've tried to do ribs before. It's that
turned out to be a disaster. Like, there's a whole process.
It takes a lot of patience to do it right.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Yeah, I've never done, like the smoking, like the eight
hours of meat on the grill, you kind of poke
at it all day. But a tradition in my house
on Thanksgiving, we deep fry a turkey. So we will
have two turkeys and one that we put in the
fryer outside. So that's a fun process.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
That sounds dangerous too, because if you're not careful, you
can easily just blow up the entire thing.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Well, it took a couple of years for us to
get the system down and not to spill oil every
single time that we dip the turkey in. But you're right,
And I will say, you know, normally I'm a pretty
strict no Christmas things until after Thanksgiving, but I think
this is the one exception when we come and visit
Corman Kitchen and back.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Well, I was about to ask you, I think I
know the answer to this, because you've said that you
are the guy who goes out and shops on Christmas Eve.
That's have you gotten at least an inkling of what
you might need. I haven't even thought about it.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
No, it will be the week of Christmas and I
will realize, oh crap, I've got to get gifts from
my entire family. So I go out in the mall
and journey into the madness.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Shannon. People like this guy right here, he's out it like,
you know, the the Walgreens because it's the only thing
that's open on at Christmas. Walgreens got a great selection.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
It's a little little pricey, but you know what, you know,
things start flying off the shelves. At that point, you
just get what you can get. So you've planned ahead,
You've got your Christmas gifts already.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Well, I have a list at least, so I have it.
That's art. You know, a lot of stuff I will like.
Most of you probably just order online, you know, but
then when it comes to Christmas decoration stuff, this is
definitely the place to come. Right now. They've got twenty
five percent off of in store only today, so get
out here today, twenty five percent off tomorrow's Saturday. They

(03:18):
got author Elizabeth Monger, who that is no, She's gonna
begin in store signing copies of her book, A Glow
Hearts Christmas Tell Maybe we need to get that book
for ah.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
It's a What's a story about a tiny crew of
gnomes who decorate Santa's village and take care of his reindeer.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
There you go. You can get an autograph copy of
that Corman marketplace dot com and we'll fill you in
on there.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Yeah, we're doing the show with Santa this morning. He
is right with us and h Shannon. A new trend
that I just saw in the part of the store
is upside down Christmas trees. Look at this, you hang
it from the ceiling. I've never seen this, and I
guess you have a little bit more options down low
instead of having the tree on the ground like normal.
Do you think you'll get an upside down Christmas tree?

Speaker 1 (03:57):
That's literally the first time I've seen that. I probably
walked by that today, but I have not seen an
upside down Christmas. It's these trends. You never know what
they'll do next. So then you put the angel or
the star on top of the other.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
That's a great question because there's no place to put
the angel, and I need to put the angel somewhere.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
The top is technically on the bottom. Does the angel
go to the bottom or does it go to the top.
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Maybe you put him on the side. He just hangs out,
but it doesn't look like there's a place for an angel.
But that is one of the new trends that you
can get here at a Corman kitchen. Him back eight
five nine and two eight Zho twenty two eighty seven.
We'll do an ask anything Friday today. Sure, not a
whole lot going on with the UK football team being
off this weekend. You know, we got of course basketball
tomorrow to talk about with Bucknhill coming to town. UK

(04:37):
women's team last night won seventy forty one, big win
over NKU. They kind of started out flat, didn't come out.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
You know, on fire and play him with you know,
the intensity that you would expect in an early game
like that, but they still won seventy forty one. That's
the mark of a good team though, when you you know,
you come out maybe shots aren't falling for whatever reason,
you can still have a big win. So looking forward
to what's happening with the UK women's team and of
course you know, big win overright State to kick off

(05:04):
the seams and for the men's and Buck now tomorrow
coming out. Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
It's maybe a football bye week, but a lot going
on in double dip season. I got to listen to
most of the game on the radio, yesterday for UK
Women's because my washing machine broke and I had to
go to the laundromat. Last night for the first time
since I've been in college, I went to the laundry mat, Shannon,
and I enjoyed it.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
I mean enjoyed the laundry I did. I did. I
don't know why. I mean, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
It was kind of relaxing, yeah, but there was nobody there. Yeah,
so it would have been different if everybody's crammed in
there trying to get their laundry in. But brought me
back to a simpler time going to the laundry mat.
I shuink I've ever been to a laundry mat?

Speaker 1 (05:38):
What? No, I've always had my own washer and dryer.
I feel like that's kind of common.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Well, it used to be like a thing you had
to have quarters. And so I busted out the Billy
R Sports piggy bank from fifteen years ago and all
my change I still have left and now it's all
just like put it on a card, like you go
to Dave and Busters and you get your tickets on
your card now.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
So he ended up doing that.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
It took about an hour and a half and if
anybody who know has had to fix a washing machine,
let me know.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
I spent two hours trying to do it yesterday. Was
it the whites or the colors? Yesterday it was both.
I had three loads of laundry I had to get done.
You just throw them all in together, right, I did
for a while.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
And then I got burnt one time and my red
made my one of my white shirts pretty pink.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
Then you end up with pink? Isn't that what happened
with Penn State? Did we talk about this? Was it
last week? The Penn State actually used to be pink,
but then like there, I think I remember us talking
about that. I think their uniforms used to be pink.
And then I guess they would get dirty and they
would throw them in the wash and they would fade
and they would somehow turn to navy. And I think
that's how they ended up with the navy color. Well, yeah,
for years I thought that was a myth.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
And I just throw things into the laundry together, and
then a nice white T shirt got ruined. So it is.
It is something you have to look out for. But
enjoyed the laundromat yesterday.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
Only an hour work for you? Today, but you'll be
in there tomorrow for.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
The Okay, listen, I do a lot more in an
hour work, thank you on Saturdays.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
On Saturdays, So you get Buckmell tomorrow at four o'clock.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Yep, one thirty pre game start for KSR. I'm sure
they'll be ks Bar and Grill and then you know,
Shannon Bucknell two and oh pick to finish fourth in
the Patriots not going to be the best opponent that
they play, But you know what, it's another opportunity for
this team to grow and get better, isn't.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
It Probably a step up from Wright State. I would
hope they would challenge Kentucky a little bit more than
the forty one point blowout that we saw in the
first game of the year. Bucknell, though, plays a lot
like Kentucky. They play five guys out. They have guys
that can shoot even their bigs. So maybe we're gonna
see a sort of a mirror image of the offense
that each team runs because they're also a high, high

(07:33):
paced team. Likes to get up and down the floor
and shoot the ball quickly. Yeah, very well.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
Could see triple digits again for the Wildcats in this game.
They've got a seven footer download so Lamari Williams Brandon
Garrison of two guys that I'll be looking to at
this game. And you know what, Mark Pope's talked a
lot about offensive rebounds as the thing that this team
can improve, Shannon, So crashing the grash to crashing the
glass despite long threes, you know, banging off the rim
and having long rebounds, that's gonna be something that these

(07:59):
bigs are gonna have to get better.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
You know, our last opponent, right State gave us Julius Mays. Yeah,
I remember, Yeah, Bucknell gave us Nate Cistina, that's right,
who was a big part of the Big Three tournament
that we saw over the side.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
I enjoyed that his his family was in the stands.
Drew and I got past them during one of the
games and I got to meet some of them and uh,
you know what they were. They were as excited as
anybody during that run. And then he he left us
when we needed him most, Shannon.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
Yeah, yeah, but he was a guy that I think
was a big fan favorite here. And man, he looks
like he could still go. Oh yeah, obviously he can
still go. But I mean, like, if you look like
that back when he played here at Kentucky, I think
he would have been maybe our best player in quite
some time.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Yeah, I'm not gonna say some guys didn't try in
that tournament, but they were definitely varying levels of motivation, right,
and I think he was trying to prove to people
that he could still play. So it was good to
see Nate Custina ball out and uh, you know he
was he was good at Kentucky. No, it was It's
a good reminder that he went to buckle Billy. Are
you a selfie guy? Do you like to take sulfies? H?

Speaker 1 (08:59):
No, but I'm four. What do you mean you're forced to?

Speaker 3 (09:02):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Yeah, like thebody comes up and like forces you to
take us. Oh, the fiance.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
You know, we're out on a trip and we're at
a scenic location. It's like we've got to take a
picture together. So I've got the longer arms and I
will take the picture of us. But if you're asking
me if I'm going to go home today and like
selfie it up and send snapchats to the boys. No,
did you hear Mark Pope talking about Well, I'm just saying,
you know how ridiculous that in his playing years. You know,

(09:26):
back in the nineties, the thought of taking a picture
of yourself was just an absurd concept, right.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
He just talked about how, you know, it's it's a
different con like, society has changed so much and now
that's just commonplace where players that want to go up
and take selfies. And he was just talking about players
that are internal players and external players, and he wants
to find guys that can think internally instead of worrying about,
you know, the external stuff.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
Oh okay, I like that. I mean, there's a ton
of distractions today. But Shannon, when I see somebody with
a selfie stick, I don't know, I think that's doing
a little too much, don't.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
You U Yeah, I don't. I'm not one of the
guys that walk around with selfie sticks and on all
that stuff. Even like when we're at you know, like
a like a music festival and we have to do
a lot of you know, pictures and stuff. I'm not
the guy that's walking around.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Oh and you definitely see him because they're holding a
big giant pole in the air as they it follows
himself around. So I don't know, I don't have the
selfie stick yet. I would have figured you'd be a
selfie stick guy.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
No, I'm not. He He was also, you know, just
talking about the team, just trying to again not not
the same I guess verbiage as Caliperi, but just eliminate
the clutter. He says that in practice they'll take five
minutes where they'll just go completely silent. Nobody's talking in practice,
so just the squeaks on the gymmis floors. Yeah, just

(10:39):
to try to, you know, just eliminate whatever is you
know going on in your mind, just to try to
relax and just sort of release the clutter from the outside.
He said there was even people that were working in
the upper deck during practice and he made them be
quiet too, kind of like Matt Jones out of remote.
He's like, my man, my man, can you can you
be for trying to do a show here? Yeah, I'm
gonna ask you to be quiet.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
That's interesting because you know, coaches, I'm sure preach that
you want communication, you want to constantly talk, but you
take it from a different perspective and you and you
have to do it internally. So I like the the
lessons that Mark Pope is trying to teach in his
guys and communicating to the media. You know, you guys
played that col audio from after his first game.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
It was just words out. Oh my gosh. He would
start a sentence and not even finish the thought move
on to something else that was like.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
How about this make a three? And it's just it's
just so different from what we're hearing right now.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Good or bad? Yeah, I mean you got our coach
now talking about you know, the frontal cortex of the brand.
I don't think we had any of those. It was
a striking difference, There's no doubt. Yeah. Now do you
think we'll see it? Because I know somebody's gonna ask,
We'll go ahead, and I'll go ahead and ask you, okay,
your opinion. Do you think we're gonna see any more
of Travis Perry or Trent Noah tonight? Because that was
the question that the guy asked on KSR earlier this week,

(11:53):
and a lot of people had responses to that as
to whether or not you know, we want to work
in Travis Perry and this early in the year, I
think you put the best guys out there and get
them ready for Duke coming up on this, I mean Duke.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
On Tuesday you've got to have your team hopefully clicking
on all cylinders. So I'd understand if we don't see
a lot of Travis or Trent, But I do think
we will see some of them, maybe some little garbage
time at the end. But you know, those are two
guys that I think will contribute on this team. Would
you disagree with that? Like, do you think they will
have a role on this team or do you think
it will be down to ten guys?

Speaker 1 (12:27):
They're two good of shooters to just have on the bench.
I think that they're going to find and they're gonna
find plenty in time.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
That's not twenty minutes, but like you know, they could
probably contribute ten fifteen minutes in an SEC game. Kerkkriesa
gets into a little foul trouble, there's an injury somewhere.
I think there's definitely a next man up mentality in
those guys. As beloved as they are by the fan base,
I'm sure they have.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
A role somewhere. I don't think they're gonna be treated
as walk ons, if that's what you're saying, Well, the
fans chanting at them a little bit like walk ons, Yeah,
they probably don't like that. You know, Shoot, these are
guys that you know, I mean very all time leading
scorer in Kentucky, Yes, time leading score. So I think
that there's definitely gonna be a role for these What.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
About next year, you think both of those guys stick around.
Oh yeah, they have an even bigger role next especially
if you're from Kentucky. I mean, you know what it
means to put on that jersey. Mark Pope's trying to
like instill that mindset. And the players, you know, play
for its cliche to say, but play for the name
on the front and not on the back. And I
think that Mark Pope is going to recruit that way
and try to get that mindset for all the players

(13:26):
that hey, it's all about this program, not about individuals
making it to the NBA. Well yeah, you know, during
the cal area, I think players came in with the
NBA on their mind, and they left with the NBA
on their mind. And now I think they come in
with a very different perspective and and for better or
for worse, you may be less talented overall, but maybe
you played it better as a group.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
So we'll take your calls. We're gonna take a break
here at eight five nine two eight h twenty two
eighty seven Live at Corman Market Plays Corman Kitchen and
Bath and we'll be right back here on the Ksrpre Show.
Welcome back. It is the k us our Pre Show.
We're live from Corman and Associates. Good loud crowd, We
got this morn yea like the energy here eight eighty

(14:07):
one Floyd Drive and Lexington come on by half the
store is Corman Marketplace, the other half is the Corman

(14:29):
Then you can come back and get it. Well.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
Last year they were very very cool, So definitely get
out here so you can grab one of those KISR
ornaments and.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
Go to Corman Kitchen and Bath dot com to check
out their gallery and set up a free consultation with
the designer Billy. The segment sponsored by DraftKings, Good Game
Last Night for Thursday Night Football. Some of these Thursday
Night games have been kind of eye Yeah, Casey the
Bengals said, not a good game for the Bengals fans.
But I mean, if you're just watching, you know, just
from an outsider, not a fan of either side, it

(14:58):
was a good game. And you can't against lamar Man. Well,
look when that a perfect fourth quarter and the Ravens
come back and win when the parlay doesn't hit.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
I understand when Casey sentiment there, but the Cincinnati got screwed.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
I don't know what you guys think, but like the final.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
Play of the game, I mean the final drive, there
were like three flags that didn't get called to the
final I mean, Joe Burrow's getting hit in the head
every other play. It's it's ridiculous that these games can
mean so much, but yet the referees can be so
in confident.

Speaker 1 (15:23):
There was another Thursday Night game that came down to
a team getting screwed too. I forget what it was.
It was just a couple of weeks ago, but we
had some controversial calls on Thursday Night football.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
If it's revealable, if it's not revealable, it's it is
ridiculous that this keeps popping up and.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
You can bet on DraftKings promo code KSR. You bet
five dollars, you get two hundred and bonus bets, live betting,
same game parlays, player props. It's all there for you.
I tried to look up to see what the spread
is for Kentucky Bucknell tomorrow and not on the board. Yeah,
I didn't have it as of like an hour ago.
So anyway, it'll be up soon. Yeah, it might be
up today. They usually do it. What would you say
if you had to pick fifteen?

Speaker 2 (16:00):
I was gonna go higher and the honest rely, I
was gonna say eighteen. You think that's too much.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
I mean we're within three points. I mean it's not
like you said thirty and US at fifty. That's true.
That's true anyway. Promo code KSR bet five dollars, get
two hundred only on DraftKings. If you have a gambling
problem one eight hundred gambler eighteen plus. Eligibility restrictions apply.
See DKNG dot co slash b Bowl Billy. We're talking cats.

(16:25):
Straight Cat's back again? Oh no, straight Cat. You remember
I talked about the Cats from Factor. I think it
was back in the summer. We talked about the cat,
the straight cat that showed up at my house and
it disappeared for a few months. Same cat, same collar,
is back again, and it's really causing a disruption at
the house because it's getting preferential treatment over me now

(16:47):
at this point because the girlfriend, you know, she is
now feeding the cat. Oh yeah, and of course you
feed a straight cat. It's not going anywhere. It went
from getting dry food to now wet food. Three or
four times, no, but probably I think three times a day.
It's getting like breakfast, lunch. Well, hold on, three times
a day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And I'm just saying,

(17:09):
like she pops up out of it. I'm an early riser, okay.
She likes to wake up, you know, on the weekends,
maybe around ten o'clock, and there's no like a BYuT
ten o'clock in the morning, I've already got half my
day finished, I've already been up, I've washed the car,
I've had my coffee, my breakfast, I'm ready for lunch.
She's just now waking up. But now because of this cat,
she's got it on a feeding schedule somehow. Because I'm

(17:31):
the one that wakes up every morning, right, yeah, And
I go out to have my coffee and that cat's
looking there, going yeah, So you're yelling at me, like
feed me, feed me, and I'm like, I'm not going
to feed the cat. I didn't start this, So she's
the one feeding the cat. I said, Look, this is
your responsibility. So now every morning, like I said, she
likes to sleep in, but at six o'clock in the morning,

(17:53):
she shoots out of that bed like a cannon to
go feed that cat. And I'm going, you know what,
I could count on one hand if I didn't have
any fingers, the amount of time that she has gotten
up and had breakfast for me at six o'clock in
the morning. She goes, well, you can feed yourself. I go,
the cat can feed itself. The cat can go out
and get a mouse or something. But I'm telling you
this cat that is this randomly showed up at our

(18:14):
doorstep again, left for three months, came right back. It's
getting preferential treatment over me. And I'm not too happy.
I love this and I hate to break it to you.
This is not a stray cat anymore. This is your cat.
It's become a part of the family now. So here's
the deal. Like, okay, I guess keeping the cat outside right,
I mean it does. It takes care of mice. It
brought us a mouse the other day and just laid
it right there. I'm like, good cat, thank you for that.

(18:36):
I appreciate it. It likes to smack crickets and like
random bugs around the house. You know, I'm okay with that.
But here's the thing. It's going to get cold at
some point, and I need to know, like, what do
you do with a cat? Like, I'm okay with it
staying outside? Clearly it's not going anywhere. It's getting fed.
It's getting fed better than me. I just wonder, like,

(18:58):
what do you do with a cat when it gets
if it's an outdoor cat, how do you know the
difference between an indoor cat and an outdoor cat. I
don't know anything about cats. I need a little help
here from the collective knowledge of our listeners. What do
you do with a cat when it gets like twenty
degrees outside?

Speaker 4 (19:11):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (19:11):
I don't want I care enough about its well being.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
Yeah, I've never had a cat, but it sounds like
to me is what's going to happen here in a
month or two is that that cat's going to be
sleeping in the same bed with you. I mean, you
just wait, it gets a little cold outside. Sarah's already
springing up to get up at six am to feed
the cat. There's no way she's letting it stay outside
in twenty degree weather. So just get the litter box,
just go all in. Maybe get like the little jungle

(19:35):
gym stuff that you set up around the house and
they can go in through the holes and things like that.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
No, I think you've become a cat person. No, I don't. Look,
I've never never had a cat, never was a fan
of cats, but I love I love animals, you know,
I don't want it to, you know, die from starvation
or nice. Yeah, you have a heart exactly a little
bit of one anyway. So I don't know, like, do
you get like the outdoor. Is there like an outdoor

(20:00):
cat house you can get? Is that a thing? Well,
you know, I don't know if you're gonna build anything.
I'm not gonna build for the cat. But I'm just saying,
like if we wanted to go like online or I
don't think they have anything here for a cat, but like,
if you want to keep a cat out doors, what
do you do to keep it warm? I don't know.
Maybe you can let us know. Yeah, I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
Maybe you don't have a barn on your property, right,
it's not gonna go stay at the barn.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
Got a garage, but you know, I got stuff in
my garage. I don't want to care.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
Well, it sounds like you're gonna be cleaned out and
spot in the garage, set up that litter box, set
up some blankets, and that's where that cat's gonna reside
for the next three to four months.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
Yeah. Do you believe in the cat? Is it the
cat distribution system? Is that a thing? I think? Do
you know what I'm talking about? I have to explain
it to me. What's the cat distribution? I think it
started out as a meme, but people actually believe this
is a thing, like a real life thing, that cats
that are strays will just randomly show up at your
house like the right time for for food, for well,

(20:53):
for food. I guess it's some sort of like hippie thing.
I think, Oh okay, you know, well, even was it
like that cat was brought to me from from God
at the right time? Oh okay, to give me comfort,
like it's a gift or something like that from the universe.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
Yeah, you know, everything happens for a reason, and this
is this cat showed up your at your door to
teach you a lesson about something.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
Shannon, I guess five twenty two eighty seven record. Do
we have up first? Billy is up first?

Speaker 4 (21:18):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (21:18):
Another? What's up? Really is this Gillespie?

Speaker 3 (21:22):
What's up?

Speaker 1 (21:22):
Guy?

Speaker 3 (21:23):
I just had to call in. I just got a
couple of real quick things. Sorry, call in two days
in a row. I heard y'all talking about that yesterday.
I'm sure you don't like it. It won't be it
won't keep happening. But number one, the Bengals were robbed
last night. Billy is completely spot on, and he's not
the only one that I'm not the only one that

(21:44):
agreed with him. Has to become a common theme. I
don't know why they're they're hitting him so late. Number two,
if you guys can tell me a little bit about
the strengths of button now I know, but ksrs that
are shooting is really Uh, that's pretty good. And number three,
we had a stray cat come around and uh it
actually got alli cat sick. Uh, it'spend a couple thousand

(22:07):
dollars to in the vet to get our cat well again.
And I don't know what happened to straycat. He just
took off and never came back again. But that's all
I got. Well, now hang up and listen.

Speaker 1 (22:17):
Thank you. I appreciate it. Thanks for thanks, Billy. You
call back anytime you want. We can't get to all
those topics that he just hit on. But luckily I
don't have another cat to worry about. The stray cat.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
You just careful of Brabies is a big thing in Lexington.
I don't I'd hate for it to be Kujo in Louisville.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
I know. Don't trust me that that cross my mind.
Now you're live at Corman Kitchen and Bath and Lexington
is the KSR Pre Show. We'll be right back. We'll
take more than the phone calls coming in next. Welcome
Back is the kss R Pre Show Live in Lexington,
Corman Kitchen and Bath. You can get twenty five percent
off in store today only, so come on out here.

(22:51):
We'll be here for the next three hours. And uh,
we'd love to see you eight five nine two twenty
two eighty seven at Shinnon The Dude appilly our sports
On Twitter, Joe writes and says, Okay, who had Shannon
the Dude talking about cat houses on your ksr aprecioal
Bengo card today? You never know what we're going to talk.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
Yeah, that's a tough Bengo card. You really don't know
what's going to come up on this show. We are
getting varying degrees of responses on the text line.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
Okay, let's I two two sixty five six six five six.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
Some people are sending in insulated cat houses that you
can build on your property.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
You can build them. I thought, no, We've already talked
about my inability to build things. I needed to come
in one piece. I need it delivered to my doorstep,
not in a box and one piece.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
Some people have said that this is your cat now
and you should name it, and giving names like Alice
Blue cat ks Cat.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
I like it, cat a Perry. This is great, all right.
I want to hear some more suggestions. Continue to send
in your security.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
But there's also some people that are just saying strays
don't wear collars, stop feeding your neighbor's cat.

Speaker 1 (23:47):
It stays with me. I don't know, like I wake
up every morning go to the front porch. There it
is like, it won't go home.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
Yeah, well it is warm outside, or it's starting to
get cold. Maybe it gets a little colder. It'll just
stay over where it's at.

Speaker 1 (23:58):
Is We posted on the Facebook community page, here's a cat.
Not one person claimed it. Oh so you've so, you've done,
You've tried to find me for sure? Yeah, yeah, for sure.
We were talking here during the break. Some people suggest
that maybe the cat is chipped. Maybe I should take
it to the vet.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
Yeah, you take it to the animal shelter or vet.
They can see if it's micro chipped.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
And then the one other little piece of this that
I didn't mention I talked about during the break, we
didn't mention on the radio. I went into my garage
a couple of days ago, look down snake skin. And
if there's one thing I don't do, it's snakes. So
I tell you I'm not a cat person. I'm definitely
not a snake person. So I'm about to just put
that cat in the garage and go find that snay.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
What is going on in your garage? I mean, no, man,
A couple years ago we were trying.

Speaker 1 (24:42):
To find mice. This is a different house.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
You got to bring a cat in because it's too
cold outside, and you got snake skin. There's a lot
of Wildlottle animal thunderdome going on in Shannon's garage.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
Let's take some calls eight five, nine, two eighth, twenty
two eighty seven? Rick, Who's up next? Boyce is up next? Boys?
What's up?

Speaker 3 (24:59):
I'm a wondering.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
I think I think Mark Pulb's got to get our
are rem protecting going.

Speaker 3 (25:09):
That seventh food that's seven foot nine from far to
our freshman, I missed one. Know how good he is?

Speaker 1 (25:16):
Seven foot nine? Yeah, I haven't seen him play it,
but we talked about him in the offseason. He's he's
a tall boy. I can't imagine somebody being seven foot
nine and not being good at the game of basketball. Well, yeah,
because like playing on like little toy realms. Yeah, exactly.
They got a different sport. Boys. We appreciate the call,
thank you. Yeah, Bucknell does have a seven footer who

(25:37):
apparently can shoot the ball as well. What do you
think we're gonna see tomorrow? You know, Kentucky, we thought
before the season started they would We've been hearing it
from from practice reports that they we're gonna get around
forty three point shots up every game. They only had
I think twenty three twenty four last year. Yeah, a
lot of that was because they didn't have to shoot
the three point shot. They were getting to the room
so easily. Do you think maybe we'll see more of

(25:57):
those three point shots, maybe closer to the forty number tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (26:01):
Well, yeah, especially the way that they play Bucknell. They're
somebody that likes to speed it up as well, so
that may create more possessions for Kentucky. But I thought
the most encouraging thing was that they only made eleven
threes and scored one hundred and three points. I mean,
that is not live and die by the three. That's
a system that you can change what you do each night.
So I thought that was really encouraging.

Speaker 1 (26:21):
But I'm really.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
Excited to see Amar Williams again. You know, I was
happy to see him on the floor after he had
that leg injury. Was it like the first or second
player of the game, He's already bringing it up the
court and tossing it off for and assists that guy
with the challenge of defending the seven footer. He was
a three time defensive player the year in his conference.
That's a guy that I think, if can stay healthy,
will be a huge, huge part of this team.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
I just want to see a little more Kerk Cresa too.
Just for me.

Speaker 2 (26:45):
The emotional blow up is coming right like he's gonna
get under somebody's skin soon.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
Well maybe the Duke game, right, that's it. I think
that's the game right there where we're gonna see Kurk
Kresa be the most you know, villainous type of player
that he can be, the type of player that everybody
else hates that we love. I want to see some
sort of you know, little a little scrappiness between Duke
and Kirk creases.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
I I hope so, and maybe he'll bring that intensity
and set the tone.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
But that's why, Travis Perry, you need to stay ready.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
You know what I mean, Because there's gonna be a
game you he gets ejected, a game where he gets
two thousand in the first half.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
So that's why those Kentucky kids will be ready to go.
Who's next? Rick? And is up next? Hey?

Speaker 5 (27:23):
Ed?

Speaker 1 (27:23):
What's up?

Speaker 4 (27:25):
Hey? He's going?

Speaker 1 (27:26):
All right? Good?

Speaker 4 (27:29):
I got an answer to your cat problem.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
Okay, let's hear it. Uh turn the radio down if
you if you can, man, I'm hearing this in the background.
I did.

Speaker 4 (27:41):
I'll just turned it off.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
Gotcha.

Speaker 4 (27:42):
Anyway, go to Low's or somewhere and get a small igloo. Okay,
they're called iglues, and or you can issue what they
call a pitbarn. Yeah, and uh just feel it full
straw and they'll be fine.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
There we go. Okay, all right, So now I'm digging
into my paycheck to take care of the straight cat.
It's your cat, it's not astray. Let's let's get that right.

Speaker 4 (28:12):
Anything else add Yeah, Yeah, I wanted to ask you something,
Sannon the dude, have you ever heard if he Lee's
cover or Stuck in the Middle.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
I definitely know who he is. I don't know if
I've ever heard his cover? Is it better than the original?

Speaker 4 (28:30):
Yes? It is?

Speaker 1 (28:32):
Okay, all right, so maybe we should consider my praise.
Do we change our theme song to Jeff Healey's version
of it?

Speaker 4 (28:38):
Yeah, you're enjoyed. I'm guarantee it.

Speaker 3 (28:41):
It's all right.

Speaker 4 (28:42):
I'm raw blues and he's good.

Speaker 1 (28:44):
All right, Ded appreciate that. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
Ed.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
He kind of threw me off, he said, go buy
an igloo? Yeah, Lows, I didn't know you could just
buy an igloo. Now it must be like a cooler
or something. But no, it's not a cooler. I think
it's it's like a cat house. Really, Remember it's getting cold.
They're trying to warm the cat. Not cool. Listen, he
threw me off. Like I said, we're not trying to
put the cat on ice. We're trying to warm up
the cat. Let's take another phone call. He's up next

(29:09):
to it, up next.

Speaker 6 (29:13):
Hey, guys, comment about the cat. Make no mistakes, and
if the cat was big enough, it would eat you alive.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
I'm sure.

Speaker 6 (29:25):
Oh yeah, they've got temperaments that are worse than tigers.
And you know, a dog at least acts happy to
see you. A cat just wants you for how it
can benefit the cat. It's never really like, oh, hey,
there you are again a man. A dog acts like
it's the first time they've seen you.

Speaker 7 (29:40):
In here.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
You got people that are shaking their head disagreeing with
you in the crowd here. But you know what, that's
kind of why I've always been more of a dog person.
Dog always seems like it's happy to see you. A
cat just wants to come up and rub against you.
When it needs its backscratched. Yeah, I feel like cats are.
But you said like the cat would eat me if
it could. Are you suggesting that I eat the cat?
I'm not out off. I'm not gonna.

Speaker 6 (30:03):
No, I wouldn't do that, my No, that's that's not
what I'm what I'm eating at all. I'm just saying, Well,
I tell you what, I wouldn't mind if the cat
left and never came back. I mean, I understand they
clean stuff up, but man, I am not a cat
person at all. I really, I mean I don't like animals.
A whole bunch of other people think that I'm a savage.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
But what you're saying is you wouldn't be willing to
take the cat on yourself. Like if I just gave
you the cat, you wouldn't want it, that's what you're saying.

Speaker 8 (30:30):
No, No, I wouldn't.

Speaker 6 (30:32):
I've got a little girl now, and I hope she
never discovers what a cat is because I know if
she still uh, I'll have one for the rest of
my life. But AWAYS like to shout out, shout out Andy.
I had my first Andy experience yesterday. I know case
in the crowd, she knows what I'm talking about.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, So you guys went to Twin Peaks.
How did that go. I've saw some pictures like Andy
was taking pictures with all the waitresses.

Speaker 6 (30:58):
Yeah, he was having a great time. Yeah, we had
a blast. It's funny because you know, I don't partake.
I don't imbibe in the spirit, so to speak anymore.
But I had a blast because Andy does. And I'm
telling you, man, once he gets loosened up, it's kdie
bar the door and then you know, uh, he really
enjoyed being around beautiful women last night. So it was
it was fun. I got home pretty late last night,

(31:19):
but it was well worth it.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
Well good Drew, Well good to hear. Good on you
for doing that too, Drew. That is yeah, thank you
for talking.

Speaker 6 (31:26):
Had a good time.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
Yeah all right, Drew, appreciate it. I know that you
had a wild night with Andy at Mama Tequila.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
Oh yes, who could forget that legendary night at Mama
Tequilas he's been back several times I think since, so
he must have enjoyed it.

Speaker 1 (31:39):
But he is right about cats. I feel like there is.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
A personal vendetta about them, like they'll climb over stuff,
and push things over just to see.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
How you'll react. As long as they keep the snakes
out of my garage. I mean that might be like
his redeeming quality.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
Well, you do a show about the wildcats, so I
think you just need to take this cat in and
embrace this.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
He is literally a wildcat, right, I mean with the
collar exactly. We talked about traditions speaking of the wildcat.
Is there any chance they ever bring back the old
logo phallic tongue with the tongue? I don't think that
ever happens, But we were talking about things that maybe
you would want to see back. Do we bring it
back just for the sake of bringing it back, or like,

(32:17):
what is the purpose of actually bringing that back? Cell merch?

Speaker 2 (32:21):
I mean, if they're desperate enough, they might do it.
We just saw a slobbign hog return at Arkansas, so
I think though with this administration, you'd be hard pressed
to see them do that.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
Now. Will we get Denham jerseys? Maybe maybe so, but
I think bring back that logo I'm not sure. I
think we definitely get the denim jerseys back because, like
I said, man, social media had existed back in the
nineties able to have blown up the internet and it's
going to do it when they bring it back. If
it's not this season, next season. Would love to see
that happen.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
Or the icicles and that you guys have talked about.
So those are two good options, but yeah, maybe a
while before we see that logo again.

Speaker 1 (32:57):

(33:18):
us knocks this thing?

Speaker 2 (33:19):
Oh yeah, I'm sure Ryan might come over here and
shove them over.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
Just for position here. We're gonna take more of your
phone calls and we'll be right back. It is the

up at KSR Pre Show Live from Corman and Associates,

twenty five percent off in store today only, and you

(33:44):
to check out their gallery and set up a free
consultation with a designer. Do you want to remodel your home?
Actually you don't because you rent. I rent, so like,
I'm kind of at impass here. Here's some news that
shouldn't surprise anyone. Billy what Ronnie James is being sent
to the G League? Well, that's right, I mean, come on,
let's be real about it. The guy doesn't belong in
the NBA, shouldn't have been drafted. They basically wasted a

(34:06):
draft pick just so they can make history and make
Lebron happy. He played a few games with Lebron, they
had their moment. Now he's been sent to the G League,
where I think everyone knew he was gonna end up there.

Speaker 2 (34:17):
Yeah, it was a publicity stunt and it's now over.
But is there you know we don't have children, Shannon.
Is there any sense of you that thinks that that's cool,
like that it's a cool moment for Lebron that play
with his son, or do you think that it's illegiti
illegitimized because he just wasn't good enough to play.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
In the NBA. If that's it. I mean, if I
had a kid that was good enough, legit, good enough
to play in the same league as me, then yeah,
that would be great. Like Ken Griffy Junior was great.
He was better than his dad, right. I don't think
anybody's gonna argue that Bronni is not even close to
the level of talent that his dad has. And yet

(34:52):
because he's a Lebron's son, the Lakers wasted a draft.
If I was a Lakers fan, I wouldn't be happy
about this. Luckily, I'm a Celtics fan, so I'm laughing
at it, but I would not be happy about them
just wasting a draft pick on Bronni. Who I mean,
let's be real. If Lebron were to retire next year,
is he even still with the Lakers? If he is,
he's in the G League still? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (35:11):
Well, I mean, how many times does the fifty five
pick even contribute?

Speaker 1 (35:15):
Like most of the times they are G League contributors.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
So, look, it was a it was sweet, you know,
I thought it was you know, it was a cool
moment when it happened. But now it's over, and like
you said, it's not surprising to see he goes to
the G League.

Speaker 1 (35:26):
We'll get to more calls in just a minute, but first, Billy,
I want to talk Stanford Notre Dame soccer. Why would
I want to talk to Stanford Notre Dame soccer? Normally
I wouldn't, But last night Stanford hit a shot for
midfield as a walk off goal that they had against
Notre Dame from from like I said, midfield, so to
win the game, right, credible? Incredible. But you know, I

(35:48):
love a good play by play call, and I think
we have maybe one of the greatest play by play
calls is well, I don't know. It may not be
up there with six to zero six, by God, because
I think that was gonna be tough to tough to
ever top. But this one's really good and Rick has
it for you right now. Let's play it.

Speaker 5 (36:03):
Ferguson draws level. Here's a hail Mary of a shot
that lo.

Speaker 1 (36:16):
Hell, it's the trail off for me right there. Oh
that was it. That was the end of the call. Well,
I mean there's more to it, but that's the best part.
Just give me that that first fifteen seconds. I want
to hear it one more time. Can you do that.

Speaker 5 (36:31):
Ferguson draws level. Here's a hail Mary of a shot
that loll.

Speaker 1 (36:45):
What a call? What a call? Right?

Speaker 2 (36:49):
I mean, there's no better way to describe the moment
than that extended Oh there.

Speaker 1 (36:54):
I love that. Wow. I mean, that's that's definitely up
there with like one of my favorite calls of all
the time. You don't think he went a little too
long ago. That usually like they go on and on
and on, it's not about like how I just love
the part where he kind of trolls off there at
the end, really really tied into call together for me. Hey,
five nine twenty two eighty seven, let's go back to
the phones. Is up next, Rick, Jake is up next? Jake?

(37:15):
What's up? Hey Jake?

Speaker 8 (37:18):
Hey, how are you doing training?

Speaker 1 (37:20):
I'm doing good?

Speaker 2 (37:21):
I said, how are you doing training?

Speaker 1 (37:23):
I said, I'm doing well.

Speaker 7 (37:26):
Oh hey, you gotta get your girl to to drop
the dry food man, but it's not good for him.

Speaker 1 (37:34):
I thought wet food wasn't good for them.

Speaker 7 (37:38):
It's it's the wet food that you don't need to
that you don't need to have.

Speaker 1 (37:42):
You got to drop off. No.

Speaker 7 (37:47):
Oh, that's what I meant to say, get drop the wet.

Speaker 1 (37:49):
Food, Okay, I got you. Okay, so dry food then, yeah, look,
this cat is out. I don't think it really matters
if it eats wet food.

Speaker 2 (37:57):
Oh, you stop feeding it, it'll stop showing up too.
That's part of the problem, your problem here.

Speaker 1 (38:01):
Yeah, well, I mean tell Sarah that I'm not feeding anything.
If you would to come to my No, she's not. No,
neither's the cat. All right, Jake. We appreciate you, Jake advice.

Speaker 2 (38:15):
You know that cat, he gets a little wet food,
maybe a little moonwater, it may never.

Speaker 1 (38:19):
Leave, Yeah, Shannon, I mean if it does, if you
don't feed it, the thing is it gets vicious a
little bit. Yeahcause like it gets as it tries to
come in the house. I have to show it back
every time that I open the door. So it's becoming
a nuisance around there.

Speaker 2 (38:31):
Well, let's you let us know when you get a
name for the cat, okay, because I'm sure you'll have
one by next week or the week at Right now, I.

Speaker 1 (38:37):
Just call it cat. I get that cat, all right?
Who's up next? Peggy?

Speaker 8 (38:41):
Is next?

Speaker 1 (38:41):
Peggy? Peggy?

Speaker 8 (38:44):
Hey, good morning, guys, Shannon. Cool is the cat?

Speaker 1 (38:49):
It is white and kind of Tannish slash orange.

Speaker 8 (38:55):
Oh orange, yeah, okay, Well I was gonna say, if
it's solid orange, they make the best cats.

Speaker 4 (39:03):
Oh they make.

Speaker 8 (39:07):
Yet but anyway, yeah, the orange cats make really good pets.
But anyway, the my suggestion on on how to bet
it for the winner, it's gets you one of those

(39:28):
little small dog iglooso blankets. Yeah okay, and put you
some blankets in it and then it'll be fine.

Speaker 1 (39:38):
All right, I think we have the solution. I'm gonna
make sure that she goes out and buys the igloo though. Yeah,
I'm sure.

Speaker 8 (39:44):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (39:46):
There you go, Peggy, Thanks, Thanks Peggy. Somebody showed up,
Billy or well, I guess Drew showed up with these
bottles of bourbon with our faces on them. They've got
you holding your your trophy. That's right. Who is this
made by? Thanks to whoever did this? Is what I'm
trying to get to here. I don't know who they

(40:06):
thank you to, whoever doesn't say bespoken spirits. There you go.

Speaker 2 (40:12):
