Speaker 1 (00:00):
Kicking four the Rams looks like a three. Yeah, I
can't cannot really see fifty three Gavin Strickler, he's having

(00:20):
a hard time just trying to get the tee into
the ground.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
He's also one of their offensive guards. We can probably
get a lineup here for the Spartans. We've got Lowry
at quarterback. Ringers gonna be on the line, trackton Berg
at tight end, Drew Niedakoor. Nitakhauser is a running back.
He's the guy's gonna be toting to rock quite a bit.
Keegan Fogel receiver, Alec Comet, Colin Burr and Dylan Burn's

(00:46):
receivers Ryan Conway will get some carries. Connor Murphy's on
the line, Caleb Young ball on the line, Brady Henry
on the back.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
Ball back to colinber and he makes it all the
way up to the thirty nine yard line. Nice return
by Alec Colinber first and ten for the Spartans.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Yeah, real good field position there. You see a lot
of times the team the other team will squib kick
it and they can't handle it and they have their
back against their own goalposts. But in this case, the
Spartans brought it out. We're going to get to see
whether or not they were focused this week and.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
What type of offense.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
It looks like they're going to really really spread it
out here with something a little bit special.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Well, four receivers to.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
The left, so three wide receivers to the left, one
to the right, one back in the backfield. Lowry in
the shotgun snap, goes back and fakes a handoff. Now
he rolls right, throws it across and that's complete up
the head of the forty five to the fifty and
down at the opposing forty six yard line. That was

(01:52):
to Caudill for the Matthews Hondaker first down.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Yeah, if Whitehall didn't get warmed up very well, the
Spartans aren't going to wait on them, because they come out.
Lowry threw a real nice touch pass to the outside,
picked a lot of yards.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
First down. Spartans.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Two wide receivers near side slot on the right, wide
receiver the left, one back in the backfield. Lowry hands
it off straight ahead and that's up for a gain
of about four Niterhauser with a carry.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Yeah, real nice carry by Niederhouse are coming up through
the offensive line. Talked about them they're getting off the
ball so far. Henry Young, Murphy, these are household names. Ringer,
I believe he's in there. Also, let's see fifty nine.
He had a number change. That's Murphy. He was wearing
forty five. They've had I think they're down to their

(02:40):
third center, aren't they. Eric, Yeah, third center from injury.
So a couple guys that were tight ends moved down
to the offensive line, and it's just like nothing ever changed.
Second down and five at the Whitehall Yearling forty six
yard line. Lowry awaiting the snap and shotgun. He gets it,
fakes the handoff, thrown across the middle incomplete. That was

(03:02):
a little pop pass intended for colinber makes it third down.
Real nice call by the coach there. Lowry had a
nice fake and passed pretty much hit him in his hands.
He dropped the ball. But I want to mention Lathan
McCants is playing one of the wide receivers. Didn't mention
him in the lineup. He's a basketball player that came
out this year for the first time, and those guys

(03:24):
are very have a lot of great chemistry on the
basketball team, and Lathan wanted to try to help out
on the football team and its playing wide receiver for him.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Third down, Lowry up under center. Now three bunch formation,
really close to the line of scrimmage. Bobbled snap, but
now the handoff straight ahead and that's a first down
up ahead to the thirty three yard line. Matthews Hondaker
first down for the Spartans.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Yeah, it looked like a real nice play the offensive
line from the Spartans. They came to play tonight on
their home field. They want to get some things corrected
and get a score right on the first series.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
So far looking good. They're really coming off the ball low.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
That was Nieterhuser for the first down. Carry first and ten,
Lowry up under center and he gives a delayed handoff
to Neterhauser and he's bulling his way forward for about
five six yards. Nice gain on second or on first down.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Yeah, they're really Whitehall right now. Defensive line is kind
of standing up and Spartans are staying low and really
coming off the ball really determined. With a second and
a very short about two yards to go for a
first down. Here, very good field position.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
No backs in the backfield, three wide on the right,
two to the left. Lowry has a man in motion
that's Niederhauser. Fakes the handoff. Now Lowry takes her off
to the left, up ahead to the ten five and
gets close. Is it a touchdown? I can't tell if

(04:55):
they called touchdown or not. Nope, but a first down
and no flags.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
I'll I'll tell you what.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
That was a great fake coming around, faking to Niederhauser
and then Lowry taking to the left. Ringer was downfield,
I'll tell you what. Good block almost got.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
Him in the end zone.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
First and goal, and they bobbled a snap, but Lowry
picks it up and they're saying he was down when
he went to get the snap. Just bobbled that snap
up under center. So brings up second down.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Yeah, when he went down, his knee went down. And
that was a good call by the official there. And
the Spartans are still ready to knock on the door here.
And they got a little substitute in number thirty two
for the Spartans.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
That's Quintin Hughes.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Lowry up under center.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Scout and Adam Scoutin's in one.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Back in the backfield. That's Niederhauser. Gives it to him,
but Niederhauser, I think flinched and that's going to be
a false start.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Yeah, they just getting a little anxious.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
They're fired up, and they've got to be a little
patient there and couldn't hold it. But now the Spartans
are going to be about a third and what about
seven second down and seven second and seven still in
great field position here, knocking on the door. The only
thing that could hurt him here is if they hurt
himself right now, because right now Whitehall defensively has no

(06:11):
answer for him.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Second down and goal from the seven yard line, so
that penalty pushes them back. But with this Pleasant team,
you know that they can do multiple things out of
many formations inside the red zone. As Pleasant goes ahead
and calls a time out, Scott, what are you seeing

(06:33):
down there field condition wise and what the players are
dealing with?

Speaker 4 (06:38):
Well, you know the ball boys are working extra hard
to make sure that they're getting to dry ball into him,
that's for sure. You know, guys that look like mentally
they just kind of thought Lowry already scored, and then
they came out and just made two mistakes. And that's
one thing CJ said he was really wanting to try
and emphasize the difference from last week to this week.

Speaker 5 (06:57):
You know, that feeling of self conclusion.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
So this is actually a really big next couple plays
here to see if they can punch it in and
just kind of overcome themselves.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Thanks Scott and Coach. I don't think they're obviously worried,
but I like the time out there by coach uh,
you know, Westler to get them calmed down a little bit.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Yeah, they want to get they want to get the
ball in the end zone here to set the tone.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
They've already set the tone by the way their offensive.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
Line is playing, and I think coach just took a
little time out to tell him take a deep breath
and wait for the count.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
So no backs in the backfield. Five wide, two on
the left, three on the right, Lowry alone, Peterhauser in motion.
Now Lowry keeps it, goes straight ahead up to the
five and touchdown Owen Lowry and Pleasant real nice play there,
fake and Deneeder heis on the on the Jets sweep there.

(07:50):
He's been carrying the ball, so he's going to be
a definite key for Whitehall and he just took it
to the left side and once again, Ringer and a
host of others letting into the end zone. Once he
passed the line of scrimmage, there was nobody there. So
with nine to twelve left in the first period, Lowry
with a seven yard touchdown run lining up for the

(08:13):
extra point Chase Van Houston. He's a six foot, one
hundred and seventy pounds junior.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
He's got a field goal this year thirty two yards.
Eric five extra points out of six.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
And that one is no good. Just went to the right,
So sorry.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
About that, Chase.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
So with the Central High Farmers co op touchdown, Pleasant
takes the early early leads six to nothing over Whitehall. Yurling,

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Backper Pleasant High School, Pleasant kicking the ball off and
that ball lands at the twenty and rolls out of bounds,
So that is a penalty flag and Whitehall year Lan
will get a little bit of help in decent field position.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Yeah, they're just trying to keep it out of the
of the speedsters that are anchoring the back line there
and maybe not a bad move there by the Spartans
just to do that. Looks like, yeah, they called the
penalty there, and they're going to set the ball on
the thirty five, I believe.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
All right.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
So first and ten for the Rams.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
Some of the same guys.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
Menser will be defensive end, Colinburg will be a defensive back,
and we'll get you the lineup as they as they progress.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
Through here.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
Number twenty Trent Cordial will be one of the defensive backs,
I believe, he said, Ringers an inside linebacker, and Tracktenberg,
he's of the household name. Some of these guys will be, uh,
we'll talk about all night.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
So up under center goes Malachai Jackson and he fakes
the handoff, now runs to his right across the line
of scrimmage and actually gets cut down short of the
lion of scrimmage. So that's no gain, second down.

Speaker 3 (11:27):
And one of the.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
Guys we want to talk about we've talked about last
year of several games, Caleb Young, the nose guard, number
sixty one. Eric, I don't know if you remember him,
but I'll tell you what. He's a very active player
out there, and we really enjoy his efforts on defense
for the Spartans.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
Now up under center, goes Jackson and hands the ball
off to Stafford. Jason Stafford goes to his left, cuts
around the thirty five and out of bounds at about
the thirty seven yard lines, so a gain of about
three and that'll bring up third and seven.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
Yeah, that was a pretty good string out play there
by Colin ber there.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
He missed tackle.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
He's trying to shove him out of bounds, and Stafford
showed some nice speed there coming to the left side.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
Eight twenty nine left in the first period. Pleasant up
six to nothing over Whitehall Yearling. So they do a
little offset I backfield one back next to the quarterback
now just to pitch out to Stafford and he gets
stopped just beyond the line of Scribbs, actually behind the
line of scrimmage. That defense just swarming gets the three

(12:39):
and out four pleasant.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
Real good host of others defensive play right there, really
skating along and running back for white Hell could not
get his footing in. The Spartans just did a real
nice job coming out of the ball game. Number seventy
one for the Spartans. Brady Henry.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
So back back to return. The punt is Columber for pleasant.
I believe leythan Western is punting for Whitehall. Yearling snap
back kick is off, not a very far kick, very high,
comes down at about the forty forty seven yard line,

(13:26):
takes a pleasant balance and down right about midfield.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
Once again.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
The Spartans are in great field position right now. They're
in complete control of this football game. In the first quarter.
They've got a great opportunity to extend their lead. And
talked about some of the Whitehall Ram team, there were
the few guys that are not playing in the first quarter.
So if the Spartans can build up a little bit
of a lead here and catch them reeling, they can

(13:52):
have a very good night tonight. And so we'll see
what happens in the second offensive series for the Spartans.
Spartans moved the ball very well on the ground and
through the air in that first offensive series. Now second
time on offense, lowery and shotgun, no backs in the backfield,
five wide, three to the right to the left. Peter
Hauser comes in motion, high snap fake the handoff lowry,

(14:16):
straight ahead across the fifty and down at about the
forty seven yard line. Nice game for Owen Lowry. Yeah,
they're using Needa Heuser as a decoy on that and
they really like that fake on the sweep, and Lowry
did a fantastic job, not so much on the run
but on catching the football because it was a very
high snap with wet conditions. But looks like the rain

(14:36):
has led up. It looks like it may passed through here,
and he picked up something out of nothing.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
Second down, same formation for the Spartans, Peterhauser in motion.
Nothing there now screen underneath. That's complete up ahead to
tracking Bergen. He gets all the way down to the
twenty fifteen ten to five and he is down at
the five yard line, a huge gain for Jase Tracktenberg
and the Matthews Hondaker first down.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
Well, there's where the assistant coaches earn their keep if
the head coach doesn't see it. But on the play
previous to that, they had eleven guys up on the
line of scrimmage and.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
They were really stacking the box.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
So somebody up there said, hey, let's run the screen
because they're going to be coming. That's the only way
they're going to be able to stop Lowery and company.
And boy, what a play call. For the perfect situation there.
First and goal ball is at the ten yard line.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
Offset I shotgun handoff goes to Tracktenberg. He goes straight ahead,
barrels in for the touchdown. Jase Tracktenberg, Yeah, he was
no match for that. Safety tried to come up around
the two yard line. He just put his shoulder right
into him and drove him right into the end zone.

(15:56):
A great short series.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
But a very effective series for the Spartan Up twelve nothing,
six eleven to go in the first period, and the
Spartans are really feeling it right now in the first quarter.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
So trackten Berg with the ten yard touchdown run extends
the Pleasant lead twelve to nothing. CenTra how Farmers co
op touchdown. That extra point is up and that one
is good. So with six eleven left in the first period,
Pleasant extends their lead thirteen to nothing over Whitehall. Yurling

(16:30):
will take a break. You're listening to high school football
in fourteen ninety Wmrin.

Speaker 9 (17:33):

Speaker 1 (17:41):
Back here at Pleasant High School, Pleasant Up thirteen to
nothing over Whitehall, Yurling and Matthews Honda Acura Game of
the Week. Eric Moseley with coach John Kuzio and Scott
Cameron down on the sidelines. Kick off from Pleasant now
squib across the ground, ball bounces up, taken by Yurlane
at the thirty five up ahead to the thirty eight

(18:02):
yard line. That Carrie was by Bo Triblett.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
Trent Cord Dill was on the tackle there plays safety
on the defense. Talk about some of these guys on defense.
Sam Menzer nineteen tackles coming into this game. Three sacks,
Ringer twenty four tackles, Caudille nineteen tackles in Tracktenberg another
guy in the middle twenty four tackles in an interception.

(18:28):
These guys are very active on defense. And I'll tell
you what they're gonna year. Whitehall's gonna really have their
hands full.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
First in ten at the Yurling thirty nine yard line,
handoff to the right side, but just taking down right away.
Nowhere to go for Jason Stafford. Second down.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
Yeah, Ringers come across and really made a nice play.
Last year and the year before that he actually started
an outside linebacker, and his body has really changed in
two years. He's picked up some really good. He's been
in the weight room. He's a basketball player, and he
has really blossomed into a fine football player playing inside

(19:07):
linebacker now whereas he was an outside linebacker. So you
could tell when they move him to the inside that
you know he's ready for it.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
Second down and thirteen, no back in the backfield. Now,
just a little shovel pass up ahead to Stafford and
he goes nowhere. Worked his way all the way across
the field, but just couldn't go anywhere. It looks like
a yearling player down brings up a third and long.
But the thing happened, Menser came across and tangled the
blocker up, which enabled the defensive man to clean it

(19:38):
up and make the tackle. So that's the kind of
thing that these guys do. They take on the blockers
in the backfield and the defense can then clean it
up from there. And right now, Whitehall's force with another
third and about twelve. Let's go down to Scott for
a quick update. Scott off to you.

Speaker 4 (19:55):
Well, it looks like the rain is kind of stocked,
but it's so a little cool but not bad, you know.
So I had the fortune to go watch Marion Harding
scrimmage Whitehall, you know, before the season started.

Speaker 5 (20:07):
And I don't know if CJ. Westler watched some of that.

Speaker 4 (20:09):
Tape, but it's very similar to what I was watching
Harding do against white Hall. Though they are large, their
lines are very poorous and the defensive line for Pleasant
is just crashing gaffs and staters shutting stuff down. And
then offensively they play a lot of deep zone three
four and so the second level is open for short

(20:30):
little slants. Once you bust through that first level and
you get a second level, you get nice foot and
you're off to the races. And so Pleasant's literally doing
exactly what Harding started to do to white Hall.

Speaker 5 (20:41):
So it's interesting to see those similarities.

Speaker 1 (20:44):
Scott, I didn't know the science teacher knew the word porous.
I'm very impressed.

Speaker 5 (20:50):
Hey, you know that is what it is. I just
i'm here. I'm not just a gentleman, I'm also a scholar.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
Is that similar to a sieve?

Speaker 5 (20:59):
Yeah, he could be. It could be whatever you wanted
to be coaching.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Those are Those are carpet blocks, man, red carpet all right,
third down and Whitehall gets called for the penalty there
false start.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
They had a man in motion. So nothing going well
for Whitehall here early in this game.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
Yeah, you know, when you have a bus trip, you've
got to be ready because the home team, especially coming
after a loss. And we talk about program teams that
when they get beat, they put it together. That's why
they're a program team. And the Spartans are on. They
have high expectations this year and they looks like they've
made corrections. Looks like we have a player inserted in

(21:40):
number forty for the Spartans, and that's Brennan van Busk
van Vanbuster. Yeah, six foot one ninety.

Speaker 1 (21:48):
Back to pass you early now taking off Jackson and
he is slides in for about a nine yard gang
but way short of the down, so it brings up
fourth and nine.

Speaker 3 (22:02):
Yeah, number four, that was more more almost. He did
a really nice job of holding back.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
The kid was sliding down and he did a good
job of not coming in.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
On top of him.

Speaker 1 (22:16):
Leith and Western back to punt for the Rams. Alec
Colimber back to receive for the Spartans. Rams are kicking
right into the wind and it is windy. Snap his
back kick us up that one maybe returnable gets down
to Colinber at about the twenty eight gets across the
thirty thirty five to forty up to midfield and a

(22:38):
flag comes in as he's tackled at the forty five
yard line of Whitehall. But that flag came all the
way across from the middle of the field.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
Yeah, colinber did a real nice job of shaking in
Bacon going down through there picking up his blocks, but
one of them was illegal. One of the things that
I want to say is, you know, we've got the
best seat in the house up here pretty much on
the fifty yard line, and the Spartans were taking possession
pretty much in front of us on every single series.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
Eric, Yeah, it's not too bad. We haven't had to
move too much. And I do want to give a
shout out to the Athletic Boosters. Brought us up some
pop tonight, which I needed. I've had a long day.
That's yours or mine.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
Whoever I thought you doubled up on.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
Well, I'll double fist it if I need to. But
I saw you had your diet Mountain dew. But I
asked the ad Mike Lindsay if he could bring up
a pepsi or two. So I was very happy of
that and he said, well, can you give a shout
out to the Athletic Boosters And I'm like absolutely so
the Athletic Boosters concession stands taking care of us over here.

(23:41):
And then before the game I went over to the
Music Boosters concession stand on the other side and got
a loaded baked potato which was just unreal. So out
here at pleasant, I mean a lot of different things
to choose from. These people support their sports, support their music,
and it's nice to see first and ten and ball
all the way back at the Spartan twenty five, a

(24:04):
little shovel past Columber. He tries to get away, but
it is taking down the backfield, but a penalty flag
comes in. I wonder if that might have been a
face mask.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
Yeah he had.

Speaker 2 (24:13):
I think we have a preliminary hold here, saw one
of the guys indicating that it would be a hold.
It is, so the Spartans now are getting instead of
having field position around the fifty yard line, they're.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
Back on their own.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Let's see where he ends up seventeen, probably still marching
back there, so they're back to about the seventeen sixteen,
seventeen yard lines. So now a first down and twenty
if we're the Spartans, if you're tuning in four to
h three to go, first quarter, Spartans are off to

(24:49):
a good start, thirteen to nothing over the Rams.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
So Spartan's starting off this offensive series in very strange
territory that they haven't been in the first two and
that's back in their own territory. First and twenty four
the Spartans no backs in the backfield now, man in motion,
fake the handoff now screen underneath. That's complete up ahead
to the twenty yard line. Ball comes out. I think

(25:16):
the whistle had blown it dead, and it had, so
McCants with the reception up ahead for about three or
four yards, brings up second down.

Speaker 3 (25:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
Some of the offensive stats for the Spartans Lowry twenty
four for one hundred and twenty yards rushing, five yard average,
six receiving passes seventy nine or excuse me, twenty five
for seventy eight rushing, twenty eight for forty three passing.

(25:49):
So he's a bit very obviously big part of their offense,
being a four year starter here at quarterback for the Spartans.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
And it looks like a penalty flag for somebody lined
up in the neutral zone. So Spartan's getting some yards
back without even having to do anything.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
Yeah, it looks like number seventy three, the young man
that was banged up a little bit ago on defense,
is back in the game. We'll get his name here
in a second.

Speaker 1 (26:20):
Second and twelve handoff goes to Niederhauser and he cuts
across another apparently flag comes in a gain initially of
about four yards, but we'll see if that's a hold.
So a lot of mistakes here at this point in

(26:41):
the first period.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
See who who they're indicating here. Sometimes the aggressive team
gets called for the hold, but looks like they're going
to substitute one of the linemen. And coming out of
the game is uh number fifty nine Murphy Connor Murphy

(27:05):
six four two fifty. They got a nice sized offensive line.
That's the Spartans due and looks like it's gonna be
second Oh he's picking it out. Oh wow, Well that
helps out the Spartans and looks like it's gonna be
second ten. That's a very manageable situation than what it
was before. And he's also taken out Number thirty two

(27:31):
that's scouting comes out of the game and so he's
switching around some of the guys right now, and he's
gonna pull out one of his h third and ten plays.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
Third down and ten at the Spartan twenty seven yard
line again spread formation.

Speaker 3 (27:47):
I think the Whitehall Rams will be looking for.

Speaker 1 (27:49):
That screen possibly, but nobody really deep now they're back
in the defensive backs off back to pass his Lowry,
he's looking across the If another flag comes in, Lowry
gets way up ahead for the first down, gets out
of bounds, but I think that one's coming back.

Speaker 12 (28:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
The Spartans really haven't gotten away from that hold, and
they've been caught a couple times. I really like Lowry's
footspeed on that Eric and I don't know if that
was a design run, but he looked at the three
guys over here in the trip's formation and then took
off to the left side and really outran those guys
for a first down, but to no avail.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
They've got to march it back well, and I think
what you saw there Lowry back to pass, he was
looked make that pass, but he had that internal clock knowing, Okay,
I got about this long. If my guy's not open,
I'm going to look to take off and another thing
I want to bring up, we talk about the replacements
on the offensive line. We got some guys that haven't

(28:50):
played line maybe since you know, their eighth grade year,
trying to get back to playing it again. And it
could be where you're just trying to get used to
playing on the line again. Third down in twenty two,
thirty nine left in the first period, back to pass,
his lowery, rolls to his right. He's got a man
wide open down the middle. He airs that one out
and it does come down caught at the forty yard line.

(29:14):
That completion to Cole Bailey, and I'll tell you what,
he split the defensive back in the safety who just
stayed flat footed, and if Lowry hadn't had to lay
that up just a little bit, probably would have been
gone for a touchdown.

Speaker 2 (29:28):
That's one of the hardest passes to throw and one
of the hardest passes to catch when you're not being contested,
and they were able to hook up there for big,
big play.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
Hand off Tonederhouser. He cuts it to the left side,
up ahead to the forty now up to the thirty
five and taken down right there. A nice run on
first down for Drew Niederhauser.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
Yeah, that's a backbreaker for a defense when you have
something going, you get him pinned back. You're only down
thirteen to nothing. It's early in the game, still in
the first quarter, and boy, they threw it over the
top the defense and you cannot get be deep in
that situation, and they did, and that picked up the Spartans,
and I look for him to continue to march down
and once again they're going to be knocking on the

(30:09):
door on the their own or excuse me, Whitehall thirty.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
Four, second and two, about a minute forty left in
the first period. Pleasant up thirteen to nothing. Now shifting
strong or overload to the right, pitch out to Peterhauser.
He gets out to the thirty five up ahead thirty
twenty five and down at the twenty two yard line,
but enough for Matthews Hondaker. First down for Peterhuser.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
Real nice carry there. I like the way carries the football.
Number twenty five. Ryan Conway was out here making a
really good block for him on the outside.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
That's what you want to see.

Speaker 2 (30:45):
When you're not carrying it, you're making the good blocks
on the outside for your teammates.

Speaker 3 (30:49):
First down Spartans.

Speaker 1 (30:51):
One seventeen left in the first period, first and ten
at the Rams twenty five yard line, and Lowry, waiting
for the snap, fakes the handoff. Now he goes to left,
throws it out of bounds over the head of the
intended receiver, which was calledill but I think that was
just he knew that that wasn't going to be open.

(31:13):
I think that was meant to be thrown out of bounds.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
Yeah, that was a run pass option there that the
coach was talking about before in your interview, and he
gives Lowry the leeway to do just that, and the
run wasn't there with the running back. His run wasn't there,
and the pass wasn't there, So he did the right thing.
It's only going to be second and ten and to
see another play.

Speaker 1 (31:36):
No backs in the backfield, Lowry sends Niederhauser motion from
right to left fax the handoff now cuts through between
the tack on guard to the right side up to
about the twenty yard line. So a gain of five
there brings up a manageable third down.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
Yeah, real nice play.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
There's still loving that fake to the left and getting
the defense to get mesmerized. Out there and Lowry taking
it up the middle. To me this year, this first
time I've seen him, he seems like a much stronger runner.

Speaker 1 (32:13):
When you say, Eric absolutely rain starting to come down
kind of hard again. So we'll see what that does.
Lowry alone in the backfield two step drop steps steps
now Cups goes through up ahead to the fifteen, cuts
it back though and is tackled back at the line
of scrimmage.

Speaker 2 (32:34):
He was given the receivers a chance to get open,
and I think if he would have taken off a
little bit sooner, but he was giving him an opportunity
and then he picked up and made a little something
out of nothing. But they've got a fourth and about
five on the twenty yard line, and we'll see and
at the end of the first quarter, so we'll see
what coach comes up with coming out with a fourth

(32:54):
and five.

Speaker 1 (32:55):
So that's the end of the first quarter. Pleasant with
the lead thirteen to nothing over Whitehall Yearling. We'll take
a break. When we come back. We'll have to start
at the second halt or second quarter. You're listening to
high school football on fourteen ninety WMRN.

The Matthews Honda Acura High School Game of the Week.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
Back here at Pleasant High School. Started the second period,
fourth and five for the Spartans, snapped back fakes the
hand off, Lowry loses the hand on the ball and
gets it back. Boy, that was a dangerous situation. Lowry
slipped on the fake, almost went down there, then tried
to make the throw and he just lost it.

Speaker 3 (34:42):
Yeah. Uh, but k mead number six for uh.

Speaker 2 (34:48):
Whitehall was in on the tackle and he kind of
got shaken up a little bit. He kind of twisted
and turned, but he looks like he got up. He's okay,
and uh looks like Whitehall will survive that particular series
and they get an opportunity to take over on downs.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
So a good good job there for Whitehall. Now a
lot of that was assisted by penalties. It's Whitehall straight
handoff or actually straight ahead run by Jackson. He gets
a couple of yards on that first down.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
Carrie looks like Ringer was in there trying to get
some of these numbers. Fifty nine, that's Connor Murphy. These
are the guys that had jersey changes and jersey numbered
change and didn't hurt their performance.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
Ball slips through Jackson's hands and he does gather it in.
But now a loss of about five six yards brings
up a third and long.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
Yes, Spartans continue to force the attack defensively here and
look take over this game eleven ten to go. If
you've just tuned in, Spartan's are up thirteen to nothing
and really playing with a lot of confidence tonight.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
So third down and sixteen to go. Ball is at
the Rams fifteen yard line. Jackson tries to pitch it out.
There was nobody there. Finally a player gets down on it.
It looked like that he had two backs, one on
either side of him, and somebody just either didn't know

(36:22):
where he was going or didn't get there fast enough.

Speaker 3 (36:26):
I'll tell you what. Whitehall still hasn't.

Speaker 2 (36:31):
Bounced back from the early bad start here, and most
of it's because the Spartans are playing pretty well and
they're forced to punt and it looks like the punter
is going to be standing right on his own goal
line here, and Spartans should get really good for position
after this.

Speaker 1 (36:48):
Western kicks it off and that just shanks off the
side of his foot out of bounds at the twenty
five yard line. So Spartans will take over first and
ten in outstanding field position.

Speaker 2 (37:01):
Yeah, one of the things that Spartans have to guard
against is getting lacks of daisical here because things are
coming pretty easy and they're really a bit more aggressive
team Eric and they've got to just set the tone
here and just continue to drive forward. And I'm sure
they're going to do that. I look for them first
play to just air it out after that really bad punt.

Speaker 1 (37:21):
Well, we'll see because they are going to have the
wind in their face. But coach Westler saiding in as
I after I talked to him after the interview, that
you know, the wind could play a factor, but they
don't plan on going deep too often when the wind's
in their face. First down, run straight ahead, bowling across

(37:42):
is number seven Kniederhauser and nice pickup of about three
yards there brings up second down.

Speaker 2 (37:48):
Lawrence Kenneth, number zero, a sophomore defensive end, made the
tackle and I was looking down through the lineup.

Speaker 3 (37:56):
They have a lot of guys that are not.

Speaker 2 (37:58):
Going both ways, so that's a good thing for Whitehall.
And they've got a lot of sophomores in junior so
and a couple freshmen sprinkled in there, so they're pretty
young team.

Speaker 1 (38:08):
Second down in seven. No, make it eight and at
the white Hall twenty four yard line, Lowry hands it
off to nater Houser. Big hole off the middle up
to the fifteen to ten five and a first down
in goal. Matthews Hontaktor first down and Niterhauser he saw
the hole and he was gone, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (38:27):
That looked like a sieve defense that time, and it
was very porous, and he was running through there and
really picking up the yard age.

Speaker 3 (38:35):
First down Spartans.

Speaker 1 (38:37):
And a handoff quickly to Neterhuser. He's wrapped up right away,
maybe a gain of one second in goal.

Speaker 2 (38:44):
Be Ka Mead number six, another sophomore makes the tackle.
He's not giving up. He's still working hard for his team.
But looks like spartan second and six ball on the
six yard line.

Speaker 1 (38:59):
A couple of changes in the offense number thirty two.

Speaker 3 (39:04):
It's like they're going wide again.

Speaker 1 (39:06):
Scowed now the game they brought colinber in, so no
backs in the backfield. They went wide. Nieterhauser in the
slot to the left. This is where he goes in motion.
They go with the handoff, he cuts it up five
and is he in He is down at the one
yard line.

Speaker 2 (39:25):
Yeah, they went They've been going using the fake and
then running Lowry to the left. That time they gave
it to him and he came around the right side.
They had trips to the right, so they had one
on one blocking out there, and very nice call. Niederhaeuser
is on a roll tonight.

Speaker 1 (39:41):
Up under center Lowry quickly and a false start. I
think it was supposed to go by touch and one
of the offensive linemen and I'm guessing it was the center,
but he just soon as Lowry got up to the
line of scrimmage, he just took off. So that brings
them back there trying to run the fast paced offense.

(40:01):
When you're up on the one yard line, you want
to get up there quickly, get up under center and go.

Speaker 2 (40:06):
Yeah, they just have to be a little bit more
disciplined there, and they're just so anxious and they're up
thirteen to nothing, playing pretty well, but they've got to
get some of these little mental mistakes ironed out here
as they as they continue on.

Speaker 1 (40:19):
So a five yard penalty there may get third and
goal from the six eight minutes until halftime, and so
three wide or two wide receivers on the left one
on the right. Lowry rolls to his left, throws into

(40:40):
the corner the end Zoe touchdown Alan Colimber for the Spartans.

Speaker 2 (40:45):
Nice play rolling to his left, Lowry hitting call him
er on the out wide open, perfect touch pass over
his shoulder, makes a nice catch. Spartans are up nineteen
to zero, seven forty five to go in the first
quarter and looking good.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
So that's Columber's second touchdown reception, this time a seven
yard touchdown reception for Columber. That's his second one of
the season. Van Houston for the extra point and that
one is good. So Pleasant extends their lead with the

(41:28):

The Matthews Honda Acura High School Game of the Week.

Speaker 1 (42:47):
The Houston back to kick off for Pleasant Pleasant up
twenty to nothing before halftime here at Pleasant High School.
That kick comes down to the ten yard line up
ahead to the fifteen twenty five across the thirty mistackle
there to the thirty five and out of bounds. That
was number three Jason Stafford. Nice return there for Whitehall.

Speaker 2 (43:10):
Yeah, real nice return giving them a little bit of
life and great field position here with seven thirty six
to go in the second quarter, Let's.

Speaker 1 (43:17):
Go down to Scott on the sideline. Scott, what do
you got?

Speaker 4 (43:21):
Well, I'm a little bit colder right now, but terrain
is a stop again.

Speaker 5 (43:26):
But you know there's that sequence there for about five minutes.

Speaker 4 (43:29):
Both teams struggling with that cold, wet, rainy ball. But
the Pleasant Spartans they're just dominating the line and they
got it in.

Speaker 1 (43:37):
All right. Thanks Scott first and ten, I'm glad I
brought my jacket. Scott could use your jacket right now.

Speaker 2 (43:43):
I think it might cost costume chicken sandwich or something.

Speaker 1 (43:48):
Uh oh, Jackson goes to roll out and he is sacked,
and that's our guy right there.

Speaker 2 (43:54):
Yeah, real nice tackle from the light.

Speaker 1 (43:57):
Let's see that's uh, that's Sam Menzer.

Speaker 2 (43:59):
That's that's Sam. Yeah, yeah, that's him. He wrestled him down.
We talked earlier. Sam's got three sacks coming into this game,
and nineteen tackles a very active kid.

Speaker 3 (44:12):
Good wrestler.

Speaker 2 (44:13):
He's gout, keeps a low base and I'll tell you what,
he's just a football player.

Speaker 1 (44:18):
Second down and nineteen ball at the Earling twenty eight
yard line, Jackson in shotgun. He gets a snap, but
a penalty flag and I don't know if that's a
delay a game or a false start false start for Whitehall.
So we knew coming into this game, you know, Whitehall

(44:39):
zero and two. Looked at the lineup. It's a very
young lineup, and I know that Whitehall has had some
struggles the past couple of years. But you hate to
you know, like you say, it's it can't be just
a road trip. It's got to be a business trip.

Speaker 2 (44:56):
Yeah, when you're coming, no matter where you're going. Especially,
I mean, you know right now Whitehall zero and two.
You know, coach Lightfoot, I'm sure and his staff are
really working hard to get things turned around here this season,
but they just happened to hit a team that was
really really focused and ready to play tonight.

Speaker 1 (45:14):
So another penalty flag and there's a dead ball foul.
I think the referee is trying to get his mic
to work. I don't think it's working. I don't even
know what it was, but I think it was another
false start. So Whitehall now back second and twenty nine,

(45:37):
ball on their own twenty three yard line. Now the
snap almost away from Jackson, and there's Menser again, just
a monster.

Speaker 2 (45:44):
There on the outside. They have no answer to that
young man. He's feeling it tonight. He's just staying low
and you know, wet or dry, that young man is
just coming in and really doing a great job of
forcing things, and they're just pushing haul back. They've got
their backs to their own goalpost here, and things aren't

(46:05):
looking good with six fourteen to go.

Speaker 1 (46:07):
The crazy thing is with Mencer. Last year was his
first year of playing high school football. He had focused
so much on wrestling, and he came out last year
and now he's just shining. They're down in thirty nine
and just a straight ahead handoff and nowhere to go.
I didn't even see who ended up with the ball
for Whitehall, but it brings up a fourth down. So

(46:30):
again pleasant with a chance five forty eight before halftime
to have great field position and uh and a chance
to put more points on the board.

Speaker 2 (46:41):
Well, they're going to get the ball, probably inside the
forty yard line, if not.

Speaker 3 (46:49):
It'sould be a good time to try to practice your block.

Speaker 1 (46:52):
Yeah, just send them, just send them, just because the
young man is really hurrying kicking the football. He got there,
it did get tip of it, and that was Menser
who gets in there. That whole defensive series was about
Sam Menzer and ball goes out of bounds at about
the twenty eight yard line. I believe maybe the twenty seven.

Speaker 2 (47:15):
Yeah, Spartans right now are in control very much. So
they were in control before Whitehall got off the bus tonight.

Speaker 1 (47:26):
Well, and it's if for anyone today was a business
business luncheon for our business dinner for the Spartans. They're
hosting it and they are taking care of business. Here
first and ten at the Whitehall twenty eight yard line,

(47:46):
Lowry man in motion goes left to right, he's back
to pass, he's looking gets it out complete up ahead
to about the fifteen yard line, and that's neat you
Houser for Matthews Hondaker first down.

Speaker 2 (48:02):
You know when Lowry was a freshman and sophomore, he
kind of slung the football, if I recall yep, and
right now he knows I think as a junior last year,
we knows he was really transforming into a touch quarterback,
and that time he knew he had to get it
out to him and he put a little mustard on
that one and hit him writ in the chest. So,

(48:25):
first and ten at the Whitehall twelve yard line, Lowry
rolls to his right, throws it in the corner of
the end zone and just overthrows the intended receiver that
was Cole Bailey, and they'll bring up second down. Yeah,
you're trying some things out here on a real rollout,

(48:45):
like the play call. And sometimes in this situation when
you know you're in control, you know, coach likes to
try some things out because he might get in a
situation where you're gonna need those types of places. You
might as well practice him. Plus, you want to get
the next opponent something to scowed against next week.

Speaker 1 (49:04):
Here we go with the five wide and now Peterhauser
comes in the backfield with Lowry to his right. Lowry
steps back, now takes it straight ahead ten five, cuts
it to the outside into the end zone. Touchdown Owen
Lowry on a twelve yard touchdown run with five oh

(49:25):
one left in the first half.

Speaker 2 (49:27):
Yeah, Niederhauser looked like he was gonna come in motion,
and then he was set right beside Lowry and basically
when the ball was snapped, I'm not even sure Whitehall
even was ready. Niederhauser went right up the middle and
Lowry just followed him through. It looked like he was
going twice as fast as the rest of the the
other players on the on the defense. Touchdown for the

(49:48):
Spartans up twenty six to nothing. The five ozho one
to go, so.

Speaker 1 (49:52):
Van Housten back to kick the extra point. Did miss
his first one tonight, but it had plenty of leg
just went a little bit to the right. Ball is down,
kick us up and that one is good. So with
five oh one left until halftime, Spartans extend their lead
twenty six to nothing over Whitehall. Yeur lane, we'll take

Speaker 1 (51:24):
That Care Pleasant High School for the Matthews Honda Accurate
Game of the Week, Pleasant Up Big twenty seven to
nothing over Whitehall. Yurly Now a squip kick and it
does go down went off a Whitehall player and they
took him out. Almost bounced back to a pleasant player,
but they believe it was number thirty four for Whitehall.

(51:48):
Darien Radcliffe able to return or recover it, and so
Whitehall dodges a bullet. And I'm sure that there could
be people out there going, well, why would you why
would you do an on site kick? You know you're
up twenty seven to nothing. Well, this is the time
that you can work on things as a team.

Speaker 2 (52:05):
Well, first of all, Whitehall is kind of waiting for
the Spartans, and Spartans aren't waiting for Whitehall. They're going
to try to play their game. And right now they
on sidekick, and they were trying to catch them napping.
Get another score before the half, and uh, try to
shorten miss game, maybe for the starter. So you know,
we get another score here and we got a running clock.

Speaker 1 (52:26):
Coach Westler wants his team to stay hungry no matter
what the score is. And this is how you do that.
Jackson up under center. Now he rolls out to his left.
He gets hit as he passes and not is that complete?
I think ay said?

Speaker 3 (52:40):
Is complete?

Speaker 2 (52:41):
Yeah, And I think that they're gonna call defensive interference.
But the young man really did a nice job of
catching the football that was Christian Miller Junior six five
for Whitehall, and give Jackson credit a sophomore getting out
there and getting rid of the ball Scout and really
put a hit on him just as he was launching

(53:02):
the football.

Speaker 1 (53:03):
So a penalty flag. And I'm guessing, like you said, coach,
probably pass interference.

Speaker 3 (53:07):
Yeah, it looked like it was.

Speaker 1 (53:10):
Now it was a completion, so well it would have
been of first down, so yeah, probably take the take
the catch. Yeah, that's what I was going to say.

Speaker 3 (53:21):
Yeah, they'll they'll decline it.

Speaker 1 (53:23):
Let's go down to Scott real quick. Scott down to you.

Speaker 5 (53:26):
Hey, let's just give credit where credits due real quick.

Speaker 4 (53:29):
I know Whitehall is kind of getting beat pretty bad
right now, and they're feeling bad. But Jackson, he jumped
in the air, waggled out to the left, jumped in
the air, and thin threw the ball.

Speaker 5 (53:39):
That was a pretty incredible throw on his part.

Speaker 4 (53:42):
And uh, but we're still saying he had to make
that play because again, Pleasant continues to dominate the line
on both ends of the ball.

Speaker 2 (53:50):
So that's exactly what the call was, past interference and
Whitehall will now take the ball because it was a
first down and the balls on the forty yard line,
first and ten, Whitehall.

Speaker 1 (54:04):
Okay, Whitehall Jackson is in shotgun low snap. Now he
steps across and throws a little bit shortened behind the
intended receiver, which was Christian Miller, brings up second down.

Speaker 2 (54:19):
Yeah, Spartans are in that infamous prevent defense kind of
loosening up with four to forty three, plenty of time
for Whitehall, good Field position on their own thirty nine,
and they've got to try to break the ice here
and try to get a score right before the half.
Second down in ten at the Pleasant thirty nine yard line,

(54:40):
four forty three left until halftime, and now a penalty flag.
I believe that's a false start note well, encroachment somebody
lined up in the neutral zone four Pleasant. Well, they're
sharing the love there offensively and defensively with penalties tonight.

Speaker 1 (55:00):
So that makes it second down and five now up
ahead to the Pleasant thirty four yard line. Jackson takes
it to the left side, up ahead to the thirty
and out of bounds. That's a Matthews Hondactor first down
for the Rams.

Speaker 2 (55:19):
Yeah, it looks like Whitehall is getting a little life
here right before the half. Fourth thirty six to go.
Clock stops on the first down. I believe he got
out of bounds, so we stop. The time is really
not of essence here. You've got plenty of time to
get the ball in the end zone before the half.

Speaker 1 (55:40):
So Jackson first and ten, now, pleasant jumps off sides.
They're drawing them off and it's an aggressive defense, no
doubt about it. But these are the things that the
coaches for the Spartans are going to be telling their
guys in film. Look, we've got this game under control,
but these are the mistake we can't be making.

Speaker 3 (56:01):
And it's a typical.

Speaker 2 (56:02):
Thing when you're in the lead twenty seven to nothing
right before the half, you get a little sloppy and
you're playing down to your opponent, and you've got to
stay sharp and crisp. And I'm sure that's gonna be
one of the points of emphasis at halftime.

Speaker 1 (56:16):
First down and five at the Spartan twenty one yard line,
Jackson up under center. Now he hands it off to
the left side, but taking down right away is number
twenty Albert Kanna.

Speaker 2 (56:27):
Little I formation counterplay there, going to the left, faking
to the full back to the right, and the tail
back to the left trying to keep it on the
ground to go. But the Spartan defense is really bow
their neck back right now, and it's gonna be second
and six on the twenty two, twenty three yard line.
And this is a really good situation for pleasant This

(56:48):
is a situation where let's see what their defense is
made of. You got a team that's really fighting back,
and let's see what happens here.

Speaker 1 (56:56):
Second down in seven offset eye Now back to pass Jackson.
He completes across the middle. He stepped into that throw
that complete up to Christian Miller and that's Matthew Tondaker
first down inside the ten yard line.

Speaker 2 (57:12):
Yeah, Christian Miller, that's a second catch, real nice play. Yeah,
ball was thrown low the only he was the one
that only one could catch it, and he went down
after it. Whitehall rams really showing some life here.

Speaker 1 (57:24):
And now looks like Spartan's going to take a time out.
Let's throw it down to Scott. Scott is this defense,
you know, seems to be having some problems down there.
What are you seeing?

Speaker 4 (57:36):
But here's the thing again, they're still dominating the line.
It's really just mental mistakes penalties, whether it's past interference
all sides. It's just goofy stuff. It's stuff that's very,
very fixable. So it's really is it really white hole
offense or is it just pleasant defense that's really letting
them move the ball down the field. But it's very fixable,

(57:58):
and I'm sure coach Western is gonna definitely fixed that
at halftime.

Speaker 2 (58:03):
He better fix it right now or white Hall is
gonna score. He can't wait till halftime.

Speaker 1 (58:08):
Yeah, you don't want to wait until halftime.

Speaker 2 (58:10):
That's why he called the time out. He wanted to
try to get it fixed right now.

Speaker 3 (58:15):
All right.

Speaker 1 (58:16):
So first and goal ball is at the Spartan nine
yard line. This is the furthest Whitehall has gotten this evening.

Speaker 3 (58:26):
Single coverage out here on the outside.

Speaker 1 (58:29):
They had two wide receivers on the left, one on
the right. They run it straight ahead and maybe got
a yard brings up second down.

Speaker 2 (58:40):
Yeah, he's got single coverage out here. You could run
in a little slant play. The outside linebacker is kind
of sitting in that alley. He's got to watch where
he's gonna go if he falls back into it. But
they've got it set up. They've got the strength of
the receivers to the left and the split receiver number
sixteen schwan Brook. It looks like they're going to change

(59:03):
the formation.

Speaker 1 (59:05):
Okay, So Jackson in that little shotgun, he pitches it
outside and nowhere really to go for Stafford. That got
stretched out really well, but.

Speaker 9 (59:21):
No ball taking away? What was that?

Speaker 1 (59:24):
That was stopped? And then number twenty Albert Kana just
took it from his player. There was a whistle there,
I thought, but they're they're letting that stand. What in
the world he was stopped? Nobody was moving for at
least three seconds.

Speaker 2 (59:43):
Yeah, that looked that definitely looked like a rugby scrum there.
He was being held up and they should have pulled
his arms down or went for the fumble, but he
was able to get rid of it, and Whitehall was
on the board.

Speaker 1 (59:57):
Jackson for the two point conversion, runs to the left,
but he is stopped short. No good but two forty
eight left in the half and Whitehall y'ur lin and
able to get a touchdown on one of the strangest
plays I've ever seen. Scott, you were right there. What

(01:00:17):
did you see?

Speaker 4 (01:00:19):
Yeah, I was right in front of me about twenty feet.
The player got hung up and you could literally hear
the white haltar come right up to him, said let
me have it, let me have it, let it go,
let it go, And the player was in front, so
the ball was handed off in front of the player
and handed off to the white Hall player and then

(01:00:39):
he ran it in coach, excuse me, what should we
do about that? That's not for a pass? Are you
allowed to hand the ball off forward?

Speaker 2 (01:00:47):
If the referee didn't see it, I guess they're going
to let it go.

Speaker 3 (01:00:53):
Did you see any daylight like a lateral.

Speaker 5 (01:00:57):
There's no lateral. It was just he took it right
out of his hand and he just ran.

Speaker 2 (01:01:01):
Evidently evidently that they thought it was okay, so it's
going to count. Yeah, they missed the extra point on
the run, and the Spartans are up twenty seven to six.

Speaker 3 (01:01:11):
But really, with.

Speaker 2 (01:01:12):
Two forty eight to go, let's see if the Spartans
have a little bit of a two minute offense before
the half. This is a good practice for them, and
they're in a football game. Looks like some of those
guys that didn't play in the first quarter back offensively,
and looks like they're able to move the football a
little better. And I think we saw the Spartans let

(01:01:32):
down a little bit, not only physically but mentally on
that particular defensive.

Speaker 1 (01:01:37):
Series well, and it just very strange because it was
it was really pleasant mistakes that did them in there.
They was a big pass play, but there was also
pass interference on it. They took the penalty and just
some mistakes with a couple of big plays. Kickoff goes

(01:01:58):
down to Columber at the fifth team, up ahead to
the twenty twenty five to thirty thirty five to forty
and down to about the forty one yard line. Columber
getting some pretty good returns tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:02:10):
Yeah, he's showing a little bit of speed going out
there that right side there, picking up some nice blocks
and he's one of their leading receivers.

Speaker 3 (01:02:19):
Colin Burg.

Speaker 2 (01:02:20):
Let's see, I have him for He's got one touchdown
and that makes two because I believe he got the
other one.

Speaker 3 (01:02:27):
Did hear?

Speaker 2 (01:02:28):
Was that Tracktenberger? Tracktenberg, not Tracktenberg, Butneedterhauser. Yeah, he's got
a fourteen point three average on his catches. He's got
nine receptions. But showing a little bit of speed there
and that really takes care of the football, does a
nice job for the Spartans.

Speaker 1 (01:02:45):
First and ten at the Pleasant forty one yard line,
two thirty nine left in the first half. Fake the
handoff and now Lowry loses the ball and that is
taken by Whitehall. Yurling. They were trying to throw that
underneath screen and Lowry the ball just came right out
of his hands.

Speaker 3 (01:03:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:03:04):
Well, as good as they were playing early in this
football game, they've kind of self destructed here in the
last four or five minutes, Eric, and they're giving Whitehall
some life right before the half, and they're going to
be in a dogfight if especially if Whitehall scores here.

Speaker 1 (01:03:20):
So this is really interesting. We were just very close
to a running clock and now Whitehall taking advantage of
a few opportunities. First and ten for Whitehall, Jackson back
to pass balls tip but completed up ahead to his
main receiver, Christian Miller.

Speaker 3 (01:03:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:03:41):
Really nice concentration by Miller bringing the ball in. And
I'll tell you what, Whitehall is showing some signs of
life here in the last four or five minutes, and
they've got a second of very manageable six yards to
go on the twenty nine yard line.

Speaker 1 (01:03:56):
So Pleasant needs to kind of bear down. The other
thing to consider Whitehall able to score on this drive.
They get the ball first in the second half, second down,
six yards to go Jackson, some confusion on the handoff
and Jackson just took it on his own and he
gets stacked up at the lion of scrimmage.

Speaker 2 (01:04:19):
Yeah, that Spartans are bowing their neck back here, and
we haven't heard from sam Sam man Metzer. We haven't
heard from him putting pressure on the quarterback when he's
trying to release it. And somebody's got to make a
big play defensively right here. With a third and five,
some scores from the area right now, Harding and Lima Senior.

(01:04:40):
Lima up twenty to seventeen just before halftime. So Harding
in a pretty good battle over there. Third down and six,
Jackson steps up to pass. Now he gets away, throws
it down field in just out of the hands of Miller.
That was right in front of the end zone. Decent

(01:05:00):
coverage down there by the Spartans, but Miller had position.
Is that number six was that Hamper on the coverage?

Speaker 1 (01:05:12):
I could couldn't tell.

Speaker 3 (01:05:16):
Looks like Avery Hamper.

Speaker 2 (01:05:19):
Yeah, I can't believe I got that one of five's
looked like sixes. But young Man really did a nice
job because you know the concentration that Miller's shown tonight.

Speaker 1 (01:05:29):
So fourth down and five ball at the pleasant twenty seven,
Jackson steps back to pass, he throws it out. Miller's
got it complete and I think he has the Matthews
Hondaker first down. If not, he's right there. Let's see
they are saying it's a first down, plenty of time

(01:05:50):
to go, one thirty three to go. You know, in
the passing game, to coach for Whitehall is very basic.
They're they're going to Miller. That's their guy. So Spartan's
just having a hard time trying to contain him.

Speaker 2 (01:06:07):
That was a I think it's Whitehall this time.

Speaker 1 (01:06:09):
Yeah, it looked like it was a shift slash. Three
guys just taking off too.

Speaker 3 (01:06:15):
So looked a little like Canadian football run now. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:06:19):
Yeah, those guys.

Speaker 3 (01:06:20):
Can't get used to it.

Speaker 2 (01:06:21):
I actually was watching Trevor Harris play the other night
and really really throws the football well with fourteenth season
has done a really cool jaws. Really nice to see
somebody from Marion County doing really well. But I was
watching the game and it's like three guys or so
going in motion running towards the line of scrimmage.

Speaker 1 (01:06:42):
Steps up for the past Jackson. That's complete to number sixteen.

Speaker 2 (01:06:48):
So on Brooks and Colinburg I believe was on the
tackle that time.

Speaker 1 (01:06:54):
Brings up third down. You mentioned Trevor Harris. Let's face it,
those of us that no Trevor and and watched him
followed him. You know, we we love following what he's
doing Canadian football, but facing facts, none of us were
going to watch, you know, Canadian football probably unless we

(01:07:15):
knew somebody playing. But I'll tell you this, uh and Scott,
I'll probably throw you in on this too, because you
know Trevor. It's it's a game that's it's hard to
get used to when you've grown up with American football,
but it's still football, and it's a lot of fun
to watch.

Speaker 4 (01:07:31):
Oh absolutely.

Speaker 5 (01:07:32):
And there's so many different rules you can different ways
to get points.

Speaker 4 (01:07:37):
It is really a combination of rugby and American football.

Speaker 5 (01:07:42):
But you're you're right, you know.

Speaker 4 (01:07:44):
Knowing someone that's playing definitely makes the game more enjoyable
than you know.

Speaker 5 (01:07:48):
Trevor's had some injuries and he's battled back.

Speaker 2 (01:07:51):
He's just a.

Speaker 5 (01:07:52):
High character, uh kind of guy.

Speaker 4 (01:07:54):
Great attitude and he really fights uh first team and
he does a great job.

Speaker 5 (01:08:00):
I enjoy watching him as well.

Speaker 1 (01:08:02):
And if you've known Trevor from when he played here
in marrying at Pleasant all the way through, his character
has stayed the same throughout. He is a high character guy.
So Whitehall yur leans second down after that time out,
fifteen yards to go, Jackson up under center, He fakes
the handoff, rolls out to his left. Now he's going

(01:08:23):
to take off, cuts it up ahead for about a
five yard gain up to the fifteen yard line. Nice carry,
actually I think that's about ten yard gain. Brings up
third down.

Speaker 2 (01:08:35):
Well right now, the Spartans have got to find a
way to get get to the half if this is
going to be big here. If they can stop him
and keep Whitehall from scoring before the half, the coaching
staff will probably be happy about that.

Speaker 3 (01:08:50):
But I'll tell you what, they've got a lot of
things to talk to him about.

Speaker 2 (01:08:54):
Even though they're up twenty seven to six, the last
probably seven eight nine minutes has been Whitehall Yearling showing
a lot of life. Here go through some more scores.
Carl Crawford up over East Knox fourteen to nothing. Winford
twenty seven, Western Reserve eight, Cartington thirty two, Busyrius eight,

(01:09:15):
gully In twenty eight to nothing over Upper Sandusky. And
in a score that sounds like a baseball scorer, North
Union beating Zane Trace eight to two, River Valley twenty eight,
Buckete Valley nothing, Mohawk twenty eight, Margaretta six. And we'll

(01:09:41):
go through some more scores here. Shortly third down and five,
ball is at the pleasant sixteen Whitehall yeerling three wide
receivers to the right, Jackson another low snap. He throws
across the middle and all the receiver did not turn
around till late, but he had position. Just a bad

(01:10:02):
pass because of the pressure.

Speaker 1 (01:10:03):
From the Spartans.

Speaker 2 (01:10:04):
Yeah, Ringers, Scalden and Menser were right in the chest
of the quarterback that time, Eric and made it very
difficult for him to get any pass accurate at all.
Fifty nine seconds to go, fourth down, Big defensive play
coming up, Big offensive play coming up. This is what
you call the old fourteen point swing.

Speaker 1 (01:10:25):
Well, and you probably figure they may bring the house here.
They know the snaffs have been low and cover Miller, Yeah, exactly.
Man from the backfield goes up lines up at wide
receiver Jackson back to pass, he's open. He throws it
up and knocked away. Miller was opened, but good coverage

(01:10:46):
and good recovery by the Spartans avoiding the touchdown.

Speaker 3 (01:10:49):
Yeah, it looks like colin.

Speaker 2 (01:10:50):
Burg was there. Looks like number twenty that's cod Ill
was there. Real nice defensive play to break that up.
So the Spartan's got the ball with fifty four seconds
to go, up twenty seven to six, and real nice
recovery by the Spartans defense.

Speaker 1 (01:11:09):
Northmore is beating Mapleton forty one to nothing. Aunt Gilliat
up sixteen to nothing over Grove City, Christian, Ridgemont and
Ridgedale tied at eight at the half. Let's see if
I can get an Elgin score. Elgin is up eight
to nothing over North Baltimore. That was from the first period,

(01:11:30):
so don't know if that's completely up to date, but
very interested in what Harding is doing out there. Reception
right there under the flats, but tackle behind the line
of scrimmage, and I believe that was Niederhauser and he's
coming up a little sore there. I don't know if
he hit knees with another player or something, but he

(01:11:53):
kind of stayed down for a little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:11:55):
Well, Conway is the other running back. He hasn't yet
to carry the ball yet in this game, but he
has carried the ball.

Speaker 3 (01:12:03):
That's Ryan Conway.

Speaker 2 (01:12:05):
He's got twelve carries for eighty one yards and one
touchdown six point eight average on the year, so they
may need him in the second half.

Speaker 1 (01:12:13):
Nineteen seconds Lowry hands it off up ahead Toneter Howser.
He gets to the twenty and breaks free just for
a little bit, but up near a first down, doesn't
get out of bounds. So that's going to end the
first half as pleasant. Able to stay up on top

(01:12:34):
but give up a touchdown to the Rams twenty seven
to six. Let's throw it down to Scott on the
sideline with coach Westler.

Speaker 4 (01:12:43):
Coach Westler pleasants, you're really kind of dominating the line
on both sides of the ball.

Speaker 5 (01:12:48):
Were some good things you're seeing?

Speaker 18 (01:12:49):
What else I would say, Definitely defensive line wise, we're
playing really well. Definitely got the run game established. Just
got to clean up some of those small mistakes, you know,
some all sides penalties, dropping the ball. It's a little
bit wet, but we got to just focus off a
little bit better and not make those small mistakes.

Speaker 4 (01:13:05):
So yeah, I was gonna say, there's a lot of
yellow laundry on the field surviving a little bit of
a scare there at the end. Hi, what's the message
I know you said, you know, cleaning some things up,
you know, going in twenty seven to six.

Speaker 5 (01:13:17):
What's the message about keeping intensity?

Speaker 18 (01:13:19):
You know, we talk a lot about We've talked a
lot about the history of the program and and kind
of playing up to a standard and not necessarily who
we're playing or what.

Speaker 5 (01:13:28):
The score is.

Speaker 18 (01:13:29):
So I think we're gonna talk about, you know, biggsum,
we're playing up to that standard and eliminating those mistakes
and then just continue to execute and ultimately come out
and have fun.

Speaker 5 (01:13:38):
So absolutely, Hey, thanks coach Wesser back to you, Eric.

Speaker 1 (01:13:42):
All right, thanks Scott, And you know, everything coach said
there makes a ton of sense. Uh, you know, the
intensity's guys, stay, stay up, And I think they probably
lost a little bit of intensity in that second period.

Speaker 2 (01:13:55):
Yeah, you don't want to play down to the uh,
the level of the of your opposent. It and it
has nothing to do with the ability. It has to
do with their intensity. And you want to play your game,
and you're basically to keep trying to continue to improve.
And the younger players that are playing for the Spartans,
and especially the older players, they've got to continue to

(01:14:15):
improve each and every week. And right now they're going
to talk about staying sharp and staying crisp and keep
their intensity level up, come out in the second half
and really work hard and try to get and put
this game away.

Speaker 1 (01:14:30):
All right, Well, we'll go ahead and take a break.
It is halftime here at Pleasant High School. Pleasant on
top by a score of twenty seven to six, and
as the teams go in the locker room, the bands
come out, so we'll take a break. You're listening to

The Matthews Honda Acura High School Game of the Week.

Speaker 1 (01:24:03):
Back here at Pleasant High School, continuing halftime Coach Gruzio
alongside Eric Mosley and coach we dealt with a lot
of different weather here in the first half when rain.
The rain has come back again and it probably looks
like it's coming down a lot harder than it is,
but it is a good, steady rain. And uh, it's

(01:24:27):
you're not seeing the rain. Well, I just took a
walk and oh, yeah, you were just outside.

Speaker 2 (01:24:31):
I didn't get wet at all. I don't know, maybe
they didn't. I just started when I got in the
press box.

Speaker 1 (01:24:36):
Yeah, it just started.

Speaker 2 (01:24:38):
But now this perfect night I mean, we we haven't
had rain for so long and then people were out
and joining it. I do know that, you know, Scott
wishes he would have brought a coat. The coat that
he's wearing, he must have found it from some.

Speaker 1 (01:24:53):
He found it in the lost in town.

Speaker 2 (01:24:54):
Seven year old is wearing it, so it's it almost
covers him. So he didn't want to buy me a
chicken sandwich.

Speaker 1 (01:25:02):
So yeah, you could have. Yeah, you could have given
him a coach, but you you had told him that
you got to be prepared for anything.

Speaker 3 (01:25:08):
That's exactly right.

Speaker 2 (01:25:09):
You always in all occasions, sports and everything, you got
to be ready.

Speaker 3 (01:25:14):
For playing being Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:25:15):
Absolutely, So we're to our ask the coach segment, and
this week I kind of wanted to go off of,
you know, the experience here of having a coach for
Whitehall yearling that you're very familiar with that you know,
I believe played when you were an assistant and he.

Speaker 2 (01:25:36):
Had a brother, Brian. I actually coached him when he
was a freshman. That was one of the first freshmen
teams we had at Algina in.

Speaker 3 (01:25:45):
Nineteen seventy nine. Yep.

Speaker 1 (01:25:47):
So I wanted to ask you over the years of
being an assistant and a head coach. What's it like for
you to see former players that move on and become
head coaches.

Speaker 2 (01:25:59):
Well know, one of the things you do is as
a coach, you're you know, as a teacher, you want
to think that you have any kind of influence in
all and hopefully in a positive way. And when you
see guys going on, you know, I would say probably
his dad was probably the big most influencer for him
to become a coach. But you know, maybe, you know,

(01:26:20):
coaching whatever. I think he played outside outside linebacker, and
he was a receiver, and I coached the receivers. Maybe
I had a little bit of influence him on. Maybe
in my coaching style.

Speaker 3 (01:26:32):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:26:33):
It's just you just coach him up and you just
hope that someday that they will take bits and pieces,
you know, from everybody that they come across, whether it
be a teacher, whether it be a neighbor or friend, whatever,
and uh, you know, get the whole total package. And
I know that I have a lot of coaches, especially
my dad influenced me. He was a coach for several

(01:26:55):
several years back in West Virginia, coach football, basketball, and
baseball when he and his brother were that basically the
coaching staff.

Speaker 3 (01:27:03):
Yeah, at the school.

Speaker 2 (01:27:04):
So you know, you take bits and pieces from people
and you put them all together and hopefully, you know,
Rod learned a little bit of something from all of us.

Speaker 3 (01:27:13):
Well.

Speaker 1 (01:27:14):
And obviously there's been plenty of coaches. I mean, we
can look at all kinds of guys that played in
Marion County for different teams, different coaches that moved on
to coach their own teams. But it's got to feel
kind of neat to see somebody that at least you knew, Okay,
I got to coach them up as a player at

(01:27:34):
some point, see them, you know, out there doing what
you love to do for so many years.

Speaker 2 (01:27:40):
Well, you know, it's even now I'm doing a little
bit of part time at Try Rivers and Construction Trades,
and you know, and Dave Willie is the lead instructor
out there. He's been in the business a long time,
and he chose to take over the program with thirty
three kids, and now we have one hundred and thirty
kids over there. And I feel like, you know this,
that I'm part of a team. I'm an assistant, I'm

(01:28:02):
assistant coach on a part of a really cool program
and there's nothing like it and be a part of
a team. And I know I had David actually in school,
I think when he was a freshman, and some of
these guys and then his dad is there working with us,
and two other guys Scott Waters and Jason Campbell, and

(01:28:22):
well we got have a pretty good crew. And you know,
and these kids that are going through the program, and
and some of these kids are actually playing football in
all the different schools. So I get to see him
during the day doing things in construction, and then I
get to come out here at night, and and maybe
just me being over there and working with him in construction,
you know, he kind of it's gonna rub off because

(01:28:44):
I know that they talk to me about football as
well as the construction trade. So it's it's really cool,
you know, since I've been retired for about eight or
nine years to be able to be part of it,
still be part of a team, and hopefully I have
a little bit of influence on any any of them.

Speaker 1 (01:29:03):
And just one more question on former players as coaches,
do you know, off the top of your head and
all the years you coached as an assistant as a
head coach. How many of your players did go on
to be in a high school head coach?

Speaker 3 (01:29:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:29:19):
I mean one of the guys that I was staying
in contact with all the time is Justin Melliser played
for US at Elgin and he talks to me and
he's he was at Harding a couple of years ago,
I think three years ago, and they had a really
fine offense and he was the offensive coordinator.

Speaker 3 (01:29:37):
We'd ever ran what he ran.

Speaker 2 (01:29:39):
He ran a lot of spread and he had Grady
Winket quarterback and he had really a fine offense and
we ran two back set.

Speaker 3 (01:29:46):
But you know, he was a part of all that.

Speaker 2 (01:29:48):
But we talked philosophy, and we talk about the kids
as far as you know things and how he's doing,
and it's just really fun. I know, Jesse Miller was
at North Union and uh Jason and you know I
didn't coach Nick age R junior, but uh, Nick next
senior was on my staff and I saw actually I

(01:30:10):
coached with him for seventeen years as an assistant and
head coach, and so all these guys, uh, uh just
were you know, and we're really uh, it's really cool
to see Brian Thomas. H. I saw his kid play,
Matt Malone his kid play. So it's really cool to
see these kids go on and you know, it's just

(01:30:32):
it's just fun to watch them and reminisce. And that's
why I do these games, just to get out here
and see people that I've known for years. And uh,
you know, it kind of keeps me off the streets.

Speaker 1 (01:30:42):
Yeah, I got to see I got to see Brian's
son play because I was calling the games in Wyott County,
so I would see Brian at just about every Upper
Sandusky game that I did. Uh, and it was neat.
That's a that's a neat connection when you you see
these guys that you play together with or that you followed,
uh and just saw what they did. Uh, and see

(01:31:05):
their kids doing it too.

Speaker 3 (01:31:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:31:06):
Colin Boyd uh was in the service retired.

Speaker 23 (01:31:10):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:31:11):
He lives near me and uh he and I stay
in contact and he was my reporter. I believe it
was last week. Uh he was here at the game
and when we were doing the game at Elgin and
and uh he contacted me during the day and he says, hey, uh,
I'm gonna be going the pleasant game and I said, wow, okay,
could you give me a report you know, every so often?

(01:31:31):
And he did. So these are these are relationships that
will never go away, and uh, you always remember him
and there's nothing like being a part of that kind
of situation. And and uh, you know, I really missed that,
but I still have I still have my my group
that uh as an assistant over at Trire Rivers Career Center.

Speaker 1 (01:31:50):
I was at the Buckeye ticket giveaway that the radio
station and uh you know does over at Ralfie's. And
while I was sitting there with Paul James, a young
man comes up to me and says, you know, do
you guys do games on the radio? And I said, yeah,
we we do, and and we talked a little bit

(01:32:12):
and he was a graduate of pleasant and I believe
I can't remember his first name, but I believe it's
Skyler Wolfe's brother, older brother, and he just yeah, well Chad, Yeah,
Chad was his dad. And we played or we talked
about games that he played in and that I was

(01:32:34):
at to call that were just it's just neat to
see and neat to hear, you know, reminisce about those things.
I had nothing to do with those games, I just
was calling the game, but to him that was a
big deal and it was neat for him to remember
and ask what we had seen and all that. So

(01:32:55):
what we do here is is just a small part.
But what these kids get and what they what they
get from their coaches and everything, these are things that
will stick with them for life.

Speaker 2 (01:33:05):
Yeah, there's no question in my hat. Every each and
every week go off to the players, coaches, cheerleaders, band,
band directors, and even the fans you know, for coming
out and supporting really wholesome fun.

Speaker 3 (01:33:19):
And we keep saying this each and every week.

Speaker 2 (01:33:21):
If you didn't plan to go to a game, maybe
find a game and go to and support these kids.
And that's what it's all about. It takes a village,
and the Marin community has a lot of support for
all of these schools and we like to continue to
encourage that.

Speaker 1 (01:33:38):
All right, well, let's take one last break again here
at halftime at Pleasant, Pleasant on Top twenty seven to

Speaker 1 (01:35:00):
Halftime ending here at Pleasant High School with pleasant on
top twenty seven to six over Whitehall yearling Eric Moseley
alongside coach John Cuzio, Scott Cameron down on the sideline
and Scott you got just got back down there a
little bit ago. What are the field conditions looking like
from where you're standing.

Speaker 4 (01:35:21):
They're actually pretty good again, man, it has been so dry,
and you know, if you're listening to the broadcast, you
know how dry it's ben We're in a drought. So
it's fine, you know, it's really just an issue with
the ball and you kind of saw that when the
rain was coming down. It's almost one of those things
where it's been so dry. Players haven't really gotten any
reps playing with the wet football and in wet conditions.

(01:35:44):
So it's not so much the field conditions, it's the conditions.

Speaker 5 (01:35:47):
Of lack of reps in those kind of conditions. And
so but oh, by the way, gentlemen, those of you who.

Speaker 4 (01:35:54):

did not give me a jacket, and I didn't have

Speaker 2 (01:36:25):
Scott, You've got to learn to when you're in our crew.
You gotta have plan b man. Yep, you got to
always be prepared for anything that comes at So next time,
bring a Snickers and bring it and then bring your
galoshes too.

Speaker 12 (01:36:39):
Hey.

Speaker 4 (01:36:39):
That means next week I'm gonna bring a snake and
I'm gonna let it go right before broadcasting the boots.

Speaker 1 (01:36:45):
All right, Scott Man, we have way too much fun,
I think. But no, it's it's been an interesting evening
weather wise, especially how dry it's been. But also the
rain just won't completely go away. It's and then there
be a quick downpour, then it looks like it's stopping,
and that wind has stayed pretty strong throughout. So conditions

(01:37:08):
not what we've experienced the first two weeks, that's for sure.

Speaker 3 (01:37:12):
No question.

Speaker 2 (01:37:13):
But I just got a text from our friend. We
just talked about Colin Boyd. He's in Pennsylvania listening to
the broadcast tonight, and he said, thanks for the shout
out and really like to wish him a safe trip
home and and we'll maybe see him when he gets back.
So what do you think, coach real quick before the kickoff?

(01:37:33):
What can Whitehall Yearling possibly try to build off of
They had a little bit of momentum there in the
second half. Well, I'm sure coach Lightfoot has a pretty
good offensive staff that he can put together some things
they saw that did some things. I think they're going
to continue to go to Miller. He seems to be
their go to Guy's got great hands, he's got some size,
and they saw some things there. They've got to get

(01:37:56):
the Spartans block though, because Menser and Ringer and scouting
we're in on that last play put a lot of pressure.
And I'm sure you know coach Westler is going to
be uh.

Speaker 3 (01:38:08):
He was.

Speaker 2 (01:38:08):
He was probably on him a little bit at halftime
and talking about intensity and not letting down. You know,
sometimes it's not about to win, it's about how you
play when you win. So I know coach men's coach
Westler is going to, you know, get him routed up.
I know Coach Carroll's down here on the sidelines. He's
got several years of experience. I think he just told

(01:38:29):
me before the game. He and I talked and this
is his forty second or you're a coaching and wow,
he's probably forgotten more about football than a lot.

Speaker 3 (01:38:39):
Of people will ever know.

Speaker 2 (01:38:41):
And he's really really a strong member of that Spartan staff.

Speaker 1 (01:38:47):
Man Houston back to kick it off, and that one
goes back to about the ten yard line, taken there
by Kanna. He gets up to the twenty twenty five
thirty thirty four yard line and that's where whyha Yurlan

(01:39:10):
will take over first and ten. You talk about the
coaches for pleasant and just this staff, this is a
very good staff. But coach Carroll. When I started being
aware of Coach Carroll was when he was coaching Cartington,
because that's when I started playing high school football and
they were in the conference and he had one of
the best non playoff teams I've ever seen. They should

(01:39:34):
have been in the playoff.

Speaker 2 (01:39:35):
Ten and oer and didn't make the playoffs. And wow,
So that's back when you had to be the top
four yep and in the region, and how times have changed.

Speaker 1 (01:39:47):
Jackson looks like he was trying to run an option.
He was up under center and kind of got hung
up with the full back then just took it himself,
but did get about three yards on that game. Second down.

Speaker 2 (01:40:00):
Yeah, the defensive line anchored thereby number seventy one, and
that's Henry really was right under their six two two
ninety anchoring that defense.

Speaker 1 (01:40:14):
And ball goes through Jackson's hands on the snap, he
mishandles it and now takes a huge loss, brings up
a third and long.

Speaker 2 (01:40:22):
I really like the activity how the active Colimber is
coming in there. Number thirty two for the Spartans. He
had another opportunity to do something not right, and he
just touched the guy that was the quarterback that was
down on the bad snap.

Speaker 3 (01:40:38):
Real smart heads, he play.

Speaker 1 (01:40:39):
Actually thirty two is scouting scouting.

Speaker 2 (01:40:41):
Yeah, what did I say, Collin Calimber Columber is twelve.

Speaker 1 (01:40:45):
Yeah, So third and fourteen, ball is on the white
Hall thirty two yard line, rolling to his right as
Jackson he's looking now he's going to take off across
the thirty There's a hold yep, and that's going to
come back.

Speaker 2 (01:41:00):
I think that was a combination hold and face mask
at the same time.

Speaker 1 (01:41:06):
That takes some talent.

Speaker 2 (01:41:07):
Yeah, and that was Scouton who was being held there
on the outside. And Whitehall is bringing in looks like their.

Speaker 3 (01:41:19):
Punting team.

Speaker 2 (01:41:21):
Spartans will probably decline the penalty here.

Speaker 1 (01:41:25):
So the temperature now after about an hour and forty minutes,
is down to sixty one degrees and it's going to
keep dropping. If you're going up to the popcorn festival tomorrow,
number one, expect a big crowd. There is a lot
of fans out there for Jackal. But number two, make
sure you dress warm because it is going to be chilly.

Speaker 2 (01:41:49):
So Scott, make sure you take your jacket.

Speaker 1 (01:41:58):
I think he shook his head. No, he'll be there
in shorts and a tank.

Speaker 2 (01:42:02):
His feet are probably what though, I know that.

Speaker 1 (01:42:05):
Yeah, snap his back Now another penalty flag.

Speaker 3 (01:42:10):
And what.

Speaker 1 (01:42:15):
And Kenny is upset about that flag. So that flag
is a delay a game. So again fourth down, five
more yards, so the fourth end fifteen Oh, it's off
sides lined up off sides, Whitehall, snap his back, kick

(01:42:39):
his off. Colmber's got a chance to return this very nice. Well,
it goes off the top of his helmet all the
way back to the ten. He takes off fifteen, cuts
it outside to the twenty and makes something out of nothing.
He was running back to get to it. I think
it came down a little bit more shall then he

(01:43:00):
thought it would.

Speaker 3 (01:43:01):
Well.

Speaker 2 (01:43:02):
The kicks, previous kicks that he's had have been very
very short, and when this young man kicked the ball
was a very nice kick this time. And Kalenberg had
to run back and like you said, hit off his
helmet and he just had to retreat and get it
because it would have been Whitehall's ball if he did
not recover. But he was able to manage to pick

(01:43:23):
it up and to survive and get the ball back
to the twenty yard line. Ten twenty three left in
the third period, first and ten ball at the pleasant
twenty Lowry and shotgun Peter Houser next to him, and
he hands off to neter Hauser to the left, up
ahead to the twenty five down at about the twenty

(01:43:43):
eight yard line. Nice carry by Niederhuser there, second down.

Speaker 3 (01:43:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:43:47):
One of the things that Spartans definitely are going to
want to do is set the tone here.

Speaker 3 (01:43:51):
They had a good defensive first series.

Speaker 2 (01:43:53):
They've got the ball and they've just got to take
time off the clock and get a methodical drive and
dominate this series.

Speaker 1 (01:44:01):
Quickly to Elias Scrimmage. Lowry hands it off to Niederhauser
to the left again, breaks three free through the thirty
up to the forty and to the forty five yard line.
That's Matthews Hondakra first down, first and ten at the
forty five yard line.

Speaker 2 (01:44:17):
Yeah, Niederheuser is not one of those guys that's going
to maybe break a sixty or seventy yarder, but he's
gonna get his five, ten, fifteen, and then he's going
to carry two or three four guys for another three
or four yards. And he's a workhorse out there. They're
running that read and Lowry hasn't run the ball much
here in the last you know, part of the second quarter,

(01:44:39):
or even in this series yet. But I look for
them to open it up to him.

Speaker 1 (01:44:44):
First and ten hands it off up to the fifty.
Nice burst of speed there. I can't tell if that
was yep, it was Niederhauser. Gain of about seven to
Nieterhauser and coach Westler said in the in the interview pregame,
if somebody's got the hot hand, I'm going to keep
giving it to him. They're going right to the line
of scrimmage. Second down in three and all high snap,

(01:45:07):
but then hands it again to Niederauser. He gets across
the forty five to the forty three yard line. That's
another Matthews Hondacker first down.

Speaker 3 (01:45:15):
Well, I tell you what I know.

Speaker 2 (01:45:16):
Bob Cox is the offensive line coach for the Spartans,
and he probably lit his offensive line up at halftime,
and he told him we can dominate this rest of
this football game by getting off of and making our
blocks and giving room for Niederheuser and also Lowry to
get through there. And right now, so far they are

(01:45:37):
dominating in this series. And you could just tell they've
had a little bit of a pep talk at halftime.

Speaker 1 (01:45:43):
First and ten at the Whitehall forty three yard line,
Lowry gets a snap, fakes the handoff, rolls to his right,
throws it out. That's complete up to trackton Berg and
he gets across the forty thirty five to thirty twenty five.
I have a nice big game there.

Speaker 5 (01:46:01):
He's still taking off and gets up.

Speaker 1 (01:46:03):
Ahead touchdown Tracktenburg.

Speaker 3 (01:46:06):
Wow, what a nice play. That was a little naked boot.

Speaker 2 (01:46:09):
Now they're saying he was down, oh man, Well regardless,
it still was a great play. Lowry come out there,
had pressure by the defensive end, he could not bring
him down, and he had Tracktenberg coming across, picked him
up and on that short pass and trackting Berg did
the rest. Good blocking downfield. Big play, Just what the
doctor ordered there on this series.

Speaker 1 (01:46:31):
So that's about a thirty five yard reception be first
in goal down to the eight yard line for Trackenberg.
That's got a chance of being the Fahi Bank play
of the game. First and goal. Lowry hands it off
straight ahead and touchdown. Knieederhauser seven year eight yard touchdown

(01:46:56):
run for Niederhauser.

Speaker 3 (01:46:58):
Real nice play.

Speaker 2 (01:46:59):
Looked like Hall, you know they I'm not sure exactly
what happened there, but nobody really wanted to touch Neterhuser
going through that defense.

Speaker 1 (01:47:10):
So Nieterhuser with the eight yard touchdown run.

Speaker 3 (01:47:19):
The offensive line for.

Speaker 2 (01:47:20):
The Spartans, Brady Henry, flinchbaw Young Murphy, those are the
guys that are doing it for the Spartans right now.

Speaker 1 (01:47:36):
So the pat was good from van Us and that
makes the score after the Center Hall Farmers co Op
touchdown Pleasant thirty four, Whitehall Yurling six. We'll take a break.

The Matthews Honda Acura High School Game of the Week.

Speaker 1 (01:49:01):
Back here at Pleasant High School. Pleasant stays in control
here against Whitehall Yurlane thirty four to two, six eight
minutes left in the third period. Eric Mosley alongside coach
John Couzio Scott Cameron on the sideline and Scott, did
you see or what did you see on that last
drive that really stood out.

Speaker 3 (01:49:19):
To you.

Speaker 5 (01:49:21):
Niederhauser. Everything was just smashed mouth football right up the gut.

Speaker 4 (01:49:25):
And that said that nice play action pass in the
flats and Whitehall just really bit on that and that
let's led to a long pass.

Speaker 1 (01:49:33):
Play first and ten for Whitehall. Jackson hands off.

Speaker 2 (01:49:42):
The bottom of the pile there once again number seventy one,
Henry getting up from that. So I was Tracktenberg manser Ringer.
Those guys are really really starting to pick it up,
Dee Deily.

Speaker 1 (01:50:01):
That was Stafford on the carrying gain of about two
second down and eight Jackson back to pass, looks to
the flat and that was intended for Miller, but just
didn't come out of Jackson's hand the right way in
complete third down.

Speaker 3 (01:50:14):
Yeah, they're going to.

Speaker 2 (01:50:15):
Try to go to Miller. He's their go to guy
on the outside. A little frustrated when he got out
the ball was kind of thrown very low and into
the dirt there, into the grass and couldn't come up
with it forrest. With about a third and eight on
the thirty seven, Spartans could have some pretty good field
position if a turned them over on downs.

Speaker 1 (01:50:36):
Third down and eight or Whitehall, And if Whitehall wants
to try to stay in this game, they've got to
make something happen on this offensive series. Running out of
time now seven to twenty three left in the third period.
Three wide receivers on the right, two on the left.
Now a little shovel plast pass up forward and maybe

(01:50:57):
a gain of two man and motion with Stafford who
took the shovel pass and brings up fourth down.

Speaker 2 (01:51:04):
Yeah, Menser was in there, Ringer was in there, Trackenburg
was in there.

Speaker 1 (01:51:11):
So I think this time, as Whitehall lines up to punt,
Colimber might move back a little bit, you know it
not they haven't punted the ball very far, but they
do have the wind to their back and it is
a strong wind. So it looks like, yeah, Colmber going
back just a little bit further so you can try
and keep that ball in front of him. He stands

(01:51:32):
at about the thirty yard line, snap his back kicks up.
Colimber runs up on it, but it goes out of
bounds right about the twenty excuse me, the thirty six
yard lines, So that'll be first and ten for the
Spartans coach. This week really was a different experience for

(01:51:58):
us at Ralphie's. Oh yeah, we weren't able to have
any coaches. We had a Tuesday night show for the
football Frenzy, but got a lot of good conversation and
there were a lot of games this week that we
felt like the Marion County teams could do well in.
And it looks like the Marion County teams aren't doing
too bad.

Speaker 2 (01:52:15):
Yeah, they're playing well and they really enjoy Mark full
there the manager of Ralfie's. We gave him a little
bit more airtime, Yeah, and he was able to go
over all their specials and all of the things are
going on there. Really a great host for us, and
we really enjoy going in there. This week, we've got
River Valley in and so we got that all going

(01:52:38):
on and hopefully they'll bring a nice little crowd there
and get some excitement. And they're playing Ontario that this
coming week. And they've got a real fine quarterback.

Speaker 1 (01:52:50):
As a counterplay there ends up going to Niederhauser, but
a penalty flag and you're right, coach Bob Penn. Miller,
the quarterback for Ontario, has signed with Ohio. Stayers committed
to Ohio State. Won't be playing quarterback for the Buckeyes.
He will be playing receiver. But they coach Hartline told
him as a pleasant Spartan's called for a holding, told him, look,

(01:53:13):
we will work with you in the offseason with how
to develop as a receiver, not a position he really
had ever played. You know, keep playing quarterback for your team,
but we know your futures at receiver. He's just talented kid.

Speaker 3 (01:53:27):
Yeah, he's no question, has a lot of speed.

Speaker 2 (01:53:29):
I think he's pretty tall, tall, nice receiver, and what
a great feeling to know that you're still playing high
school football but have a chance to go play for
the Buckeyes. So we're going to get to see him
next week. So if you're a River Valley fan, might
want to take a look at that as a game
to go see because it's always really fun to watch

(01:53:51):
some of these special kids play.

Speaker 1 (01:53:52):
Awry up under center. Now, Niederhauser in the backfield runs
a little bit of a counter tr but no gain
on that one. It was a penalty on pleasant put
them back first and twenty. So now second down.

Speaker 2 (01:54:10):
Yeah, Spartan offensive line came out in that last series
and really dominated this time. They're sputtering a little bit
second and twenty. But this is a situation. You don't
want to force Lowry to throw the football and get
it picked off. They're in control of the game five
point fifty four to go up thirty four to six,
so you want to run something that I like that

(01:54:31):
little boot action with Tracktenberg coming across the middle. That
was a really good play for him.

Speaker 1 (01:54:38):
Fake the handoff Deneterhauser now down the middle of the field,
complete at the fifty forty thirty twenty and down at
the ten yard line. That was number twenty Trent kawdeal
for the Matthews Honda Akra first down.

Speaker 2 (01:54:54):
That's what play action passes will do for you. That's
what play action will do. They have just stables at
least the run all game. The safety got caught napped
and Caddale was able to get behind. And a very
nice touch pass by Lowry right down the middle.

Speaker 3 (01:55:10):
Big play spartans.

Speaker 1 (01:55:13):
So about fifty five to sixty yard pass. Another pass
into the corner of the end zone and that is denied.
May have been close to a face guard, but I
think the ref decided that ball was not going to
be catchable from where it was thrown.

Speaker 2 (01:55:32):
Yeah, they're trying to air it out a little bit here,
catching those guys Napp and I like the play call.
Second and ten. You've got still a few plays to
burn here, and you got also a chance for field goal.
I think we're they're within definite range for their field
goal kicker.

Speaker 1 (01:55:51):
Second down and goal at the nine, Lowry hands it
off to Niederhauser to the left ye touch down. Niterhauser
and Pleasant extends their lead. Now with five oh eight
left in the third Spartan's forty Rams six.

Speaker 2 (01:56:12):
Yeah, definite momentum has gone back to the Spartans after
a kind of sputtering in the end of the first half.
But there's no question now who's in control. Forty to
six and five oh eight to go.

Speaker 1 (01:56:25):
Still in the third quarter, So about ten yard run
there for Nieterhuser.

Speaker 2 (01:56:36):
Like number nine, Chase Van Houston is kicking for the Spartans.

Speaker 1 (01:56:42):
Van Houston into the wind, kicks up, it gets hung up.
They blew the whistle. It's good, but good. They blew
that whistle before the kick even went. But hey, it's
good and that's all that matters. So with five oh
eight left in the third period, Spartan's up forty one
to six over the Rams. We'll be back here listening

The Matthews Honda Akurra High School Game of the Week.

Speaker 1 (01:58:12):
Kickoff comes down to the fifteen twenty twenty five thirty
thirty five down to the forty five yard line. Nice
return there by Whitehall Yurlane that was number three Jason Stafford,
so no quitting them, but the Spartan's still up big
forty one to six over Whitehall Yurlinge. Here in the
third quarter, as the running clock is underway, Eric Moseley

(01:58:35):
longside coach John Cuzio, Scott Cameron down the sideline, Scott,
you're down there near the pleasant sideline. What's the mood
like down there on a cold night.

Speaker 4 (01:58:45):
They're pretty excited now they know they have definitely a
foot up on these guys. And honestly, that last possession,
it was the same recipe, same dish run run, pass
action run run, and it worked once. It worked twice.
Coach Western was talking about the more halftime. It doesn't
matter the team or the score. You play the game
the right way, in the same way. And they came

(01:59:07):
out and they dominated so far the second half.

Speaker 1 (01:59:10):
Thank you, Scott. First play from scrimmage there, hand off
to Stafford only gets about a yard second down.

Speaker 2 (01:59:16):
Coach, I just need a clarification of what you call cold.
It's what I call three degrees out.

Speaker 1 (01:59:23):
I'm just saying it's with the wind instead.

Speaker 2 (01:59:27):
It is thirty degrees cooler than what it has been
the last few weeks.

Speaker 1 (01:59:31):
Right, Yeah, yes, it is.

Speaker 3 (01:59:33):
It definitely is.

Speaker 1 (01:59:34):
I don't get real cold, so that's all I'm saying.
Back to passes Jackson, he goes up and thrown behind
the intended receiver. That's kana and they threw the flag
on that.

Speaker 2 (01:59:46):
The guy that was back there and sawid didn't call it,
and one of the trail referees it was kind of
a delayed call like in hockey you have a delayed there.
But I don't know what he's seeing. That was just simultaneous.
Everybody was going for the football really to no advantage

(02:00:07):
to anybody, well disadvantage to anybody, and that should have
been a no.

Speaker 1 (02:00:12):
Call, I believe you know. I said it was cold
down there. Maybe he needed to blow his nose and
it flew out of his hand when he was getting
an out of his pocket. Oh, that's just ridiculous. A
personal foul. There wasn't a hard hit there was, I
mean the player, they just kind of pulled him down.
It was one of the defenders that didn't necessarily see
if it was completed or not. He just pulled him

(02:00:33):
down from behind.

Speaker 2 (02:00:35):
Well, what I saw was all three guys were going
for the football, two Spartans and one Whitehall guy, and
definitely I really didn't see any going to helmet and
the ball was actually overthrown and the collision was made
as the ball was going over their heads. So it
wasn't like it was already passed.

Speaker 1 (02:00:56):
Well, there's a pressure from the spark in there, Sam
Menzer among others.

Speaker 2 (02:01:03):
That Van was the first guy that got a hold
of him. Number forty, Brennan van Busker, sophomore, six foot
one ninety. They've inserted him into the defensive line and uh,
they're just gonna lay their ears back. Looks like twenty
one's in the game. Now for the Spartans. That's Brody Ringer.

(02:01:24):
There we go, freshman, little brother. He's only six two
one ninety and.

Speaker 1 (02:01:29):
Uh, I like how you said only sixty two.

Speaker 2 (02:01:32):
Well he's he's smaller than his big brother, but he's
going to be be probably just as big and strong.
So it's good to see some of these younger players getting.

Speaker 1 (02:01:41):
In Stafford with the carry and he's taken down behind
the line of scrimmage again brings up third down, Scott,
what do you got down there?

Speaker 4 (02:01:50):
Well, it looked like what they were calling the safety
was off the ball and he came across and unintentionally
but his hand went across and strung the helmet. So
I think they're calling the strike on the head as
a personal foul.

Speaker 5 (02:02:04):
But honestly, the last two plays here.

Speaker 4 (02:02:06):
It looks like they actually just woke up and fired
up the Pleasant defense and they've just been kicking their tails.

Speaker 1 (02:02:11):
Now well apparently the refs of background and upward and
just want everybody to win. So third down complete to
Miller and he gets away from the defender, up across
the forty and back to about the original line. Scrimmage
to the thirty three.

Speaker 2 (02:02:32):
You have Miller and Jackson. No quid in those guys
for Whitehall. Little pitch and catch, nice run after catch,
picking up a first down for Whitehall. Twenty two seconds
to go in the third quarter.

Speaker 1 (02:02:46):
So fourth and nine seventeen seconds left, Whitehall in Pleasant territory.
Ten seconds back to passes Jackson. He is pressure, gets away,
he's got a lane and now a flag, a lot
of flags coming in.

Speaker 2 (02:03:06):
You had the first flag and then you got two
backups coming in on that. He actually grabbed a young
man from Pleasant and kind of twisted him down, So
it's definitely definitely a hold there.

Speaker 1 (02:03:18):
Well, they didn't get the first down, so you could
possibly decline it. So lots of talk right there what
they're going to do, and they're going to go ahead

(02:03:38):
and take moving back. So a chance to possibly, I
would imagine Whitehall may still go for it, but that
was the last play of the quarter. He can't end
the quarter on a penalty, I believe, right, coach.

Speaker 3 (02:03:52):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (02:03:54):
So once we can get to the start of the
fourth quarter, we will have a running clock and uh,
right now the Spartans, uh, I want to take them
back and and really make them work for here. It's
gonna be about fourth and close to twenty on their

(02:04:14):
own or on the Spartans thirty three yard line, so
they're gonna get a chance to uh flip flop it
around here and well, and then we'll have started the
fourth quarter.

Speaker 1 (02:04:25):
So they actually did decline. It looks like they tried
to decline, or maybe he was just yeah, well they
moved it back, but I don't think the ball wasn't
back all the way there. But the referee said declined.

Speaker 2 (02:04:40):
Yeah, they're gonna they're gonna end the quarter. Okay, now
they're play.

Speaker 1 (02:04:45):
Yeah that's what I thought, because he said he said
that was declined, and I'm like, well, you moved it back,
So so a non time play, fourth down and like
you said, coach, about twenty yeah, close to it. So
one back in the backfield. Three receivers say, to the near.

Speaker 2 (02:05:06):
Side is not very deep. Looks like they might be
a little man coverage here. You got trips over here
to the right, so look for something down the middle.
So the defensive line has got to put a lot
of pressure on him.

Speaker 1 (02:05:18):
And they got both safeties playing up tight. Here comes
the pressure from mencer. But ball comes up to Miller
and it's broken up, and they threw the flag.

Speaker 2 (02:05:31):
That was so long after the play it almost looked
like he had to look at Instagram.

Speaker 1 (02:05:34):
Oh my gosh, that was ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (02:05:37):
The football and you bump his helmet, your arm is
gonna He's going for the football.

Speaker 1 (02:05:43):
He went for the football. There was nothing there.

Speaker 2 (02:05:46):
They they gotta wave this one off.

Speaker 1 (02:05:49):
I mean, if somebody has a backbone to go ahead
and tell the guy that they need to wave it off.
But I have a feeling that these are all yes men.

Speaker 3 (02:05:57):
So well, he just.

Speaker 1 (02:06:02):
Called pass interference, not even a personal foul. They're saying
it was past interference. That was not even I usually
don't remotely yeah, and and I don't. I just want
to make sure I make myself clear. I don't want
to say anything about the refs because it is hard

(02:06:23):
to get referees out of here. We've talked about uh
with the the U with the show on Wednesday and
maybe even up here sometime having some people that are
referees talk about because we want people to come out
and uh become referees because they're they're having a hard
time getting them. But this doesn't do anything to help
the cause.

Speaker 2 (02:06:42):
You know, it's fourth in, they're gonna fourth in, uh
fourth and about three here for the Whitehall rams.

Speaker 1 (02:06:51):
Oh man, now it's uh.

Speaker 2 (02:06:55):
Now they're gonna call it on the coach over here.

Speaker 3 (02:06:57):
I think you're on the bench.

Speaker 1 (02:06:59):
That was coach Westler standing right behind the line judge.
Now personal foul. Now this is where again you've got
to get yourself under control.

Speaker 3 (02:07:13):
Right, you're up.

Speaker 2 (02:07:13):
Forty one to six, and I know coaches out you know,
regardless of how you feel about that call. And uh, boy,
I tell you what, he's just fighting for his kids,
fighting for his team.

Speaker 1 (02:07:25):
Yeah he is.

Speaker 2 (02:07:25):
And uh so now he's got to watch. So you
can't get that second one.

Speaker 1 (02:07:33):
We can't get a running clock either, because we keep
getting an untimed down here in the third period.

Speaker 2 (02:07:38):
Yeah, we've played what three plays two, three plays, three plays,
third untime time down.

Speaker 1 (02:07:47):
Okay, so the third quarter will end eventually.

Speaker 2 (02:07:50):
I think we got to put in a new rule
if it's this situation, regardless of whether or not it's
at the end of a quarter, you still.

Speaker 1 (02:07:59):
Start the Yeah, just started, and just keep going.

Speaker 2 (02:08:02):
Yeah, because you know it's you got to use a
little common sense here.

Speaker 1 (02:08:05):
So it's first and ten at the pleasant fourteen yard line.
Now it's off sides. Wow, I mean, yeah, the kids
have to I have not seen an implosion like this.

Speaker 2 (02:08:20):
Well, the kids are reacting to the acting to the
coach a little bit there.

Speaker 1 (02:08:24):
Yeah. Well, and it was a long count or a
quick count, so wow. Well, if you can't move the
ball in traditional ways, you try to find any way
you can do it.

Speaker 2 (02:08:36):
Yeah. This is one of those games where you know
you're going to feel good about the win, but you
don't really feel good about some of the things that
went on as far as penalties and mental mistakes.

Speaker 1 (02:08:49):
Man in motion, they shovel it up to Stafford and
he gets stacked up in a loss of about seven yards.
And that might, my friends, is the end of the
third period. After twenty minutes.

Speaker 2 (02:09:02):
Bringer and Tract and Berg over there on that side.
And uh boy, they're still playing hard.

Speaker 1 (02:09:08):

one to six after three, you're listening to high school

Speaker 12 (02:10:17):
The Matthews Honda Acura High School Game of the Week.

Speaker 1 (02:10:25):
Fourth period here at Pleasant High School. Finally, after what
is arguably the longest last minute of a quarter that
I've ever seen, but Pleasant still on top over Whitehall,
yearling forty one to six. We will have a running clock,

(02:10:46):
so this twelve minutes barring well, even if there's penalties,
they'll keep the clock running. So we're we're all right.

Speaker 3 (02:10:54):
But so we're twelve minutes away of it being over.

Speaker 1 (02:10:58):
Well, we gotta wait for one of the referees to
getting positioned and he's not a speedster. So all right,
Second down and eleven from the Pleasant sixteen yard line, Whitehall.
I think the wide receiver moved out here, so we

(02:11:18):
got one. We have the the the umpire said it
was encroachment, but the line judge said it was off
or a false start, So they're going with a false start.
Apparently we just needed They knew we weren't talking about
them enough, so the refs decided, I know you're you're like,

(02:11:43):
you're gonna get me in trouble. Jackson runs to the right,
gets up ahead to the ten yard line. Nice game
there by Jackson on first down or excuse me, second down.

Speaker 2 (02:11:56):
Yeah, white Hall is really trying to do something something here.
And there's no quit in the team regardless of the score.
So you got to give them credit on that. Coach
Lightfoot has a pretty young team over there, and and
these kids are trying to work and continue to try
to improve in the Spartan defense. Uh, you know, they're

(02:12:18):
getting a lot of reps. You know, next week they're
playing who they playing next week?

Speaker 1 (02:12:27):
I haven't well, I have it down, but I can't remember. Yeah,
run to the left, now back Jackson sacked really deep.
I believe that was number twenty one.

Speaker 3 (02:12:39):
That was Ringer freshman. Well, you got it.

Speaker 2 (02:12:43):
Got a little brother getting a little action there. He
was in on another play. He looks like Brennan was,
uh you know three years you know, three years ago
when he was a freshman. Built just liking and I'm
sure he's gonna fill out. So they got two kids
from the same family, and you know, they talked football
to dinner table.

Speaker 3 (02:13:01):
Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (02:13:02):
I believe his dad went to my old college, Fairmont
State in West Virginia, and he and I have talked
together about the old fighting Falcons.

Speaker 1 (02:13:11):
And Brody or excuse me. Brennan is actually ranked as
one of the better linebackers in the state of Ohio
in his class, so that's only going to go up
as we have delay a game.

Speaker 2 (02:13:22):
Yeah, he's very active and he's a basketball player, so
he's got good hands and he's very mobile. So that's
going to just play dividends for him as he progresses,
you know, progresses through his rest of this season and
also on to.

Speaker 1 (02:13:36):
Next I did look pleasant will be playing Highland next week.
They traveled to Highland opening MOAC play.

Speaker 2 (02:13:44):
Yeah, and you know, one of the things you say,
you know, with a score forty one to six, but
your defense, you know, could be next week.

Speaker 3 (02:13:50):
They're gonna have to play four quarters.

Speaker 2 (02:13:52):
So if you don't have especially this conditioning early, this
is definitely not a night where you know, like it
was last week where it was extremely humid and hot.
The coaches just trying to get reps for his defense.
In a situation where the team's throwing the ball about
every down.

Speaker 1 (02:14:12):
Fourth down, Jackson throws it into the flat in and
out of the intended receiver's hands.

Speaker 2 (02:14:18):
That was pal and Tracktenburgh was tracking him down and
I think he kind of heard his footsteps coming in
from behind and basically didn't have to knock it down.
The young man dropped it in the eight forty eight
to go and looks like we're going to have first
and ten for the Spartans going the other direction forty
one to six.

Speaker 1 (02:14:39):
So in the third quarter, Lina Is still up over
Harding twenty eight to seventeen, Carrington over to be Cyrus
forty six to eight, COLONL. Crawford twenty six East Knox, nothing,
North Union, and Zane Trace still tied at eight. River
Valley up thirty four to seven over Buckeye Valley. As

(02:15:00):
Lowry's still in a quarterback hands it off to the
left side. I didn't see who the handoff was too.
I don't think.

Speaker 3 (02:15:11):
It would be Conway.

Speaker 1 (02:15:12):
Conway yep.

Speaker 2 (02:15:14):
First carry the night looked really good coming up through there.
He's got I think I had some stats on him.
Ryan had twelve carries for eighty one yards and one
tv TD in at six point eight average this year
so far, and stayed low and giving giving the other guy,
neden Heuser a little bit of a break here.

Speaker 1 (02:15:36):
So second down and four, run to the right side
and that's a Matthews hondaktra a first down. Conway again
up ahead to about the forty four yard line.

Speaker 3 (02:15:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:15:48):
He gives you a little bit of fresh legs here
on this series and really did a nice job carrying
the ball, covering two hands on the football in this situation.
Just trying to look Crispin cleaning coming through there. Picking
up another first down for the Spartans. First and ten
at their own thirty four yard line. Spartans and off

(02:16:12):
again to Conway.

Speaker 1 (02:16:13):
He breaks through the fifty and down at the forty
five yard line. Another Matthew's Hondakra first down and these
are fresh legs. Yeah here for the Spartans.

Speaker 2 (02:16:23):
It looks like white Hall's putting in a lot of
subs here and Spartans picked up. Looks like it's going
to be should be a first down. Chains hadn't moved yet.
The white white Hall is getting all their starters out
and and good thing. They've got what seven more games

(02:16:44):
to go, so they've got to protect their players.

Speaker 1 (02:16:47):
First down and ten forty five yard line, Lowry hands
it off to Conway again. He breaks three thirty five
to thirty down to the twenty eight yard another Matthews
Hondakra first down for the Spartans.

Speaker 2 (02:17:05):
Yeah, Spartans continue to march here with six thirty three
to go.

Speaker 1 (02:17:12):
And there's a few new faces in for the Spartans,
but I think most of the starting offensive line in
and more so than not, probably just because there's so
many new faces on the offensive line.

Speaker 3 (02:17:23):
Jd J.

Speaker 2 (02:17:23):
T Isler's in the game, number eight as a receiver,
looks like eighty four mccantsas back.

Speaker 1 (02:17:30):
In first and ten, Lowry high snap, hands it to Conway.
He goes to the left up past the twenty five
and up to about the twenty He hands it off.

Speaker 2 (02:17:44):
To Conway and then Lowry goes up and was the
lead blocker on that.

Speaker 3 (02:17:49):
It's just a delay, yeah, just a little.

Speaker 2 (02:17:50):
Delay, but he was able to catch up to the
running back and make a nice block on one of
the Whitehall defensive backs.

Speaker 1 (02:17:59):
Five point forty two and counting here in the fourth period.
Want to remind everyone we will have the scoreboard show
coming up after the game. Once we wrap up here,
Racelin Graver Alec Bikaelman, the newly married out Alec Bikaelman
in the studio to go through all the scores, talk
about the Buckeyes game this weekend. In the start of

(02:18:20):
the NFL season, Conway up ahead again. He still has
still going and gets to the end zone. Touchdown. Conway
as there's some guys, Yeah, I saw, yeah, a pancake block.

Speaker 3 (02:18:35):
I saw them go out a little bit earlier.

Speaker 1 (02:18:38):
So it's number seventy seven flench baw. You know, he
drove his man to the ground and then he patted
him on the head after he got up. But they
were definitely so I that touchdown comes off the board.
I think, if not, it's about a twenty four yard

(02:19:00):
run there for Conway. So I would just want to
throw down to Scott. What did you see there on
that penalty, Scott, if you saw it.

Speaker 4 (02:19:11):
I didn't see really anything that constituted. I don't know
I saw what you guys saw. Flinchball finished the block.
Pancakes to demand kind of seemed to give him a
congratulations or a don't worry about a kid kind of
pat unless something was said by someone I don't know.

Speaker 5 (02:19:31):
They may call us a dead ball foul. Who knows.
We'll see it. We're getting ready to watch it.

Speaker 1 (02:19:36):
Well, I don't think we've had to have many reasons
for what the penalties were. They were waving it off.
There we go, good job. So that is a touchdown.

Speaker 3 (02:19:44):
Yeah, he was just.

Speaker 2 (02:19:47):
I thought, first of all, they were going to call
him for not trying to get up off of him,
and they kind of call a whole lot. But I
don't think it was.

Speaker 1 (02:19:55):
That well, and I will tell you I've known the
Flinchball family for a long time. Tim his dad one
of the kindest people you know. And he's a big man.
He's a competitor, but he would do the same thing.
He might knock you down, but he'll help you up.
And I can imagine that his son is exactly the
same way. So three twenty seven in counting snap his

(02:20:18):
back kicks up kick is good. So that was Conway
with the touchdown run. Twenty four yard touchdown run by
Conway makes the score pleasant forty eight Whitehall Yearling six.
We'll just keep it here clock is running. As this

(02:20:39):
game approaches its ending, are what are some of the
things you think, coach that Whitehall might be able to
take away from this game that they can build on.

Speaker 3 (02:20:48):
Well, first of.

Speaker 2 (02:20:49):
All, whatever the problems that they had that were some
guys weren't able to play in the first quarter, obviously,
I know coach Whitefoot will try to get that cleaned
up whatever happened. And if they had any injuries, hopefully
some of these guys will be coming back. And I
think mentioned a couple of the guys didn't play the
first two games because of injury, and so maybe they

(02:21:11):
were a little bit rusty, and so I think he's
just gonna he's gonna he's gonna say, that's that's the
kind of team that we want to be. We want
to be a program like that that that's going to
come at you and play basic, fundamental football and wrap up.
I think one of the things that definitely Whitehall needs
to do is work on their tackling. But Niederhauser. Nieder

(02:21:34):
Hauser really dominated the ground game today and uh and
they and they just couldn't bring him down.

Speaker 1 (02:21:44):
All right, pleasant getting ready to kick off, Man Houston
a busy guy tonight on the kickoffs and extra points.
That one squibbed across the middle, still live ball. It
is picked up. That's by number twenty one, that Daniel Jenkins,
and he's taken down at about the fifteen yard line.

(02:22:04):
First and ten for the rams and trying to see
who's coming in on defense. I think there's a few
starters out.

Speaker 2 (02:22:16):
He still has Ringer in there, big guy rend and
Ringers still in there. I tell you he's pretty valuable.
It would be a good time to get him out
of the game. Forty eight to six to these guys.
I think he's got most of the starters out.

Speaker 1 (02:22:30):
Maybe just sure if Menzer is in there.

Speaker 2 (02:22:33):
Twenty one's coming back out. That's Brody Ringer left. He
took the wrong one out. He's the freshman. He's the
one that's got to be in there.

Speaker 1 (02:22:45):
So first and ten Jackson with the handoff as a
penalty flag and tackled way back in the backfield and
it's still Whitehall ball. So Stafford taken down. What's the

(02:23:07):
penalty flag for? That was thrown by the side judge
and I think it was on Whitehall Yeah, legal formation,
so they declined it left in the game. So guys,
we do have to come up with a.

Speaker 2 (02:23:26):
William blue ball just went in number thirty. Yeah, go ahead, Sorry.

Speaker 1 (02:23:30):
Do you need to come up with a pillar? Credit
Union Player of the Game? And uh, I'm just going
to throw it out there. I think Niederhauser more than likely.
I want a secret vote on this, You want a
secret vote. I don't have any more commercials I can take. Yeah,
that's fine, all right, No, no, we're a Racelin is

(02:23:53):
talking to me in my ear. He's like, I'll make
you one. No, we're good, We're good. Oh, we got
one breaking free down the sideline and out of bounds. Stafford.
But there's a penalty flag. We're talking about Player of
the Game, and we almost missed a big carry there.

Speaker 3 (02:24:13):
I don't know how he stepped out.

Speaker 2 (02:24:15):
He was just cruising down the side of really no
pressure on that.

Speaker 1 (02:24:20):
Yeah, that's interesting. It didn't look like he I mean
he must have been closer to the sideline than we thought.
Looks like a hit to the head, maybe like a
crackback or blind blindside block.

Speaker 2 (02:24:35):
Well, if they keep the clock running, nope, Hold, the
game's going to be over twenty two seconds. Just keep
it running all right, So Pleasant will move on to
two and one after week three, and Whitehall Yurling will
drop to Owen three. And Whitehall Yurling plays in the
same conference at Buckeye Valley. Is in so a common

(02:24:59):
oppon pasted opponent, I should say for Pleasant.

Speaker 1 (02:25:02):
As the game is over, final score here at Pleasant
High School Pleasant forty eight, Whitehall Yurling six and very
much a one sided affair. But Whitehall Yurling never ended
the fight. I mean they played tough throughout.

Speaker 3 (02:25:25):
Yeah, they played tough throughout.

Speaker 2 (02:25:26):
I think, you know, a little bit of a disadvantage,
you know, with obviously coming up here bus ride and
just had some adversity early. And the spartan's ready to play.
They came off of the loss last week and you
could tell they were ready to go, probably Monday morning,
going over everything. They were bound to determine to get

(02:25:49):
things turned around, and they did so today.

Speaker 1 (02:25:53):
So we will try to get an interview with mister
Niederhauser Drewniederhauser for as a player of the game, maybe
some comments from coach Wessler. Let's go through a recap
of the scoring drives pretty much all Pleasant obviously nine
to twelve. In the first quarter, Lowry with a seven

(02:26:14):
yard t D run point after was no good, made
Pleasant up on top six to nothing. Then at six
the six to eleven mark Tracktenberg with a ten yard
touchdown run that pat was good. Pleasant was up thirteen
to nothing. Then the second quarter Columber with a seven

(02:26:34):
yard touchdown reception pat was good. Pleasant was up twenty
to nothing at that point. That was at the seven
forty five mark five oh one left in the half,
Pleasant had a seventeen yard TD run by Lowry point
after was good, extended the lead twenty seven to nothing
over Whitehall. Then with two forty eight left before halftime,

(02:26:55):
Whitehall was able to score on a five yard touchdown
run from Knay. Two point conversion was no good, so
Whitehall gets on the board twenty seven to six. Third quarter,
eight minutes left in the third, Niterhauser with an eight
yard touchdown run point after was good. Thirty four to
six was the lead. Then Nieterhuser again at the five
to eight mark, scored a ten yard touchdown run that

(02:27:16):
point after was good. Pleasant up forty one to six,
and then the fourth quarter Comway in a drive that
was all about him running the ball. He scored on
a twenty four yard touchdown run. Pat was good. That's
where we get to the final score of forty eight
to six and Scott is waiting just as the coaches

(02:27:37):
are talking giving their final thoughts to the team out
on the field, and coach we kind of knew going in,
you know, Whitehall was probably a little overmatched, but you
never know what you're gonna get when you're dealing with
a non conference school. They were big, they didn't have
quite the speed that Pleasant had, but you can't ever

(02:28:00):
think that you're just going to roll over a team.
It really felt like other than there were definitely some
mental lapses by the Spartans, and they came out here
and just knew we need to take care of business
and do it quickly.

Speaker 2 (02:28:11):
Yeah, I mean, against a stronger football team and they
have those mental lapses, it could be a different story.
But they were fortunate enough to uh, you know, just
they always talk about it's just what the doctor ordered.
After coming off of a loss, they had a number
of things that they needed to get rectified, and they
did so, so they got things turned around. There were

(02:28:33):
some times where you know, they're kids, they're high school
football players, and they're gonna make mistakes, and some of
them were mental mistakes, and you don't want to you
don't want to hash on that, because these kids did
do a lot of great things tonight, and I think
their team is geled together and h the expectation. You know,

(02:28:54):
two years ago, if they would have making making all
those mistakes and then lost the football game, well you
know you'd be upset about that. But you know, tonight
they won the football game. They got to build on that,
get focused and be ready to go next week.

Speaker 1 (02:29:09):
And they will be ready to go, no doubt about it.
Scott's starting to get in position. He's got coach Wesler
right now, so we'll go down to coach Wesler.

Speaker 4 (02:29:16):
Scott, coach wester Are we kind of interesting end of
the game, really kind of took off, dominating the second half.

Speaker 5 (02:29:26):
What are your thoughts taking away from this? Obviously happy
for the kids.

Speaker 18 (02:29:29):
I just told him, you know, we kind of just
finished the first chapter of the season. We had the
one hiccup last year, but we're two and one and
we're headed into conference play. And you know, we did
our goal setting back in July and night Sun and
the kids wrote down win the conference, you know, so
I told him tomorrow morning that's starting. We're not even
watching this film. We're going ahead, starting on Highland, so
we're getting ready. It's excited for the kids. Obviously a

(02:29:52):
bunch that we still have to get cleaned up. The
penalties are just glaring right now, so that's it's kind
of been a theme through the first couple of games,
so that's something for sure that we have to find
a way to.

Speaker 2 (02:30:02):
Get cleaned up.

Speaker 4 (02:30:03):
You mentioned earlier a couple of days ago talking to
me about senior leadership. You know, Owen Lowry did a
great job, you know, making great play, good footwork, everything else,
but made a couple of really big passes.

Speaker 5 (02:30:17):
There in the second half. Yeah, you can tell.

Speaker 18 (02:30:19):
He's definitely a kid that's in his fourth year starting quarterback,
so you know, he's pretty much seen everything. He's been
through a lot of different experiences, so he's it helps
him stay calm and play the game, and he's a
kid that we need to be playing well for us
to compete in the conference.

Speaker 4 (02:30:34):
And I know next week is Highland, and I know
it feels great to not have to plan to play
against a.

Speaker 5 (02:30:39):
Great Dane anymore.

Speaker 4 (02:30:41):
Right, So, I know you kind of mentioned conference play
moving forward and that's where the real juggernaut begins, right
at MOAC. Well, I know you kind of talked about
cleaning things up. Is a message change going into conference?

Speaker 5 (02:30:57):
Player? Is it the same as it is right now?

Speaker 1 (02:30:59):
Well?

Speaker 5 (02:30:59):
I told the it's you know, we're heading into conference
and every week is gonna be like last week.

Speaker 18 (02:31:05):
You know that our conference, we're the smallest school and
it's it's a bunch of tough schools.

Speaker 5 (02:31:09):
So we're gonna have to raise our level of play.

Speaker 18 (02:31:12):
We're gonna have to raise our level and practice our
preparation everything. So that was kind of the message to
the team there is every game is gonna be like
last week, where it's gonna be a battle. There's no
just walkovers in our conference.

Speaker 4 (02:31:24):
Right absolutely, Hey, coach, congratulations, thanks again.

Speaker 5 (02:31:27):
Congratulations Toune wants.

Speaker 1 (02:31:31):
All right, thanks Scott and coach. I mean one thing
about coach Westler, he keeps a very consistent message to
his team and he doesn't try to get them too high,
too low or anything. It's intense and he wants this
team to have a lot of intensity, but it's very
much these are the goals. We're very goal oriented and

(02:31:52):
you like to see that out of any team. But
it's definitely something that he's build on with this team.

Speaker 2 (02:31:57):
Yeah, I don't think you're gonna have to really stress
too much about, you know, correcting mistakes with this group
of kids. I've seen him the last couple of years.
They've really grown, not just physically but mentally and Lowry
at quarterback and like Coach said, he's seen he has
seen a lot. I've seen him develop as a passer
and not just a thrower. And he runs the football

(02:32:17):
whenever they need him to. And you know, I just
try to need a needer heuser man. I tell you what,
He's a load to bring down and they better be
bringing their lunch whenever they tackle him. And he's going
through the line, he's going to pick up three, four,
five yards and then Papa maybe ten or twelve yard
game and he's going to keep those chains moving. And

(02:32:38):
I think the defense has a really good nucleus, and
I think coach is right. They started into the conference
play next week, they better strap him on tight because
each and every week it's not going to be like, well,
the pleasant Spartans are down and we're going to have
an easy one with him this week because I think
the message is out that the program is rolling back.

Speaker 1 (02:32:58):
And it's not too often in a conference that has
become the size of the MOAC, the size of the schools,
where you look at the smallest team in the conference
and go, man, that's a team that you just don't
want to play. And not that I'm not saying that
anybody's scared to play anybody, but the Shelbys, the Ontarios
this year right now, Gallion starting three to zero. These

(02:33:22):
teams aren't going to look forward to playing pleasant. They're
going to be excited to match up, but it's like, man,
this team, you've got to bring your lunch paal against them.

Speaker 2 (02:33:30):
Well, and you know this is only the third week
of the season, but things that are going to come
in to play the variables at number one, injuries and
you hope the teams can go unscathed throughout the season.
But one of the things that I noticed, and I
talked to coach Carroll a little bit before the game,
they have sixty seven kids on the team. So something's
going on over here. And coach CJ. Westler, he's gotten

(02:33:51):
down into the grade schools and his talk kids into
thinking about football, and I tell you he's got a
good thing going here.

Speaker 1 (02:33:57):
All right, we got Scott with our hiller. Credit Union
Player the Game Drew Niederhaeuser or.

Speaker 4 (02:34:03):
Credit Union Player of the Game Drew Niederhauser tell me, sir,
two touchdowns, a lot of yards.

Speaker 5 (02:34:10):
How's this win feel? It feels good. I just want
to say thank you.

Speaker 25 (02:34:14):
And I wouldn't have been able to do it without
our line. They were creating all the holes, all the
gaps for me to get free. And yeah, we wouldn't
have been able to do it without them.

Speaker 4 (02:34:24):
That's a lot of the humility to give a shout
out to the big uglies.

Speaker 5 (02:34:27):
Yeah, that's good.

Speaker 4 (02:34:28):
So I know, you know, I talked to coach Westler
moving forward, and I know Kenny was talking about that
with the team huddle going into conference play tune one
kind of feeling like you're breaking in the stride. How
are you feeling moving forward with the seam?

Speaker 5 (02:34:44):
Oh, that's good.

Speaker 25 (02:34:45):
We have a little bit more to pick up when
you Scott the penalties and we have one goal in
mine that's win the MOC So we need to go
down to the Highland and give it her all and
come out on top.

Speaker 4 (02:34:56):
Now, I know we were kind of talking about this
during the game a little bit.

Speaker 5 (02:35:01):
We haven't had much rain this year.

Speaker 4 (02:35:03):
Was it a little bit different tonight having a wet ball,
wet ground?

Speaker 5 (02:35:06):
Was there any difference in that?

Speaker 9 (02:35:08):
Uh?

Speaker 25 (02:35:09):
The only thing different from me is the ground was
a little slippier.

Speaker 5 (02:35:13):
Yeah, whatever, Cap, we know what you mean you and
that was the only thing I really that's me. Nothing else.
All right, Well, there you go.

Speaker 4 (02:35:21):
Hey, congratulations young man, Thank you.

Speaker 5 (02:35:23):
Yeah, all right, back to you.

Speaker 1 (02:35:24):
Eric, Thanks, thank you, Scott and coach. He's a humble
young man, that's for sure. Given credit where credits due.
But he had a he had himself a heck of
a game tonight.

Speaker 3 (02:35:39):
Yeah, I mean he was.

Speaker 2 (02:35:40):
He was real smart. He knows what to say and
the correct things to say. Without the team is one
of the ultimate team sports. Sometimes, you know, you think
about it if you don't have all ten guys bloking
for you when you're carrying the ball or carrying out
their assignment, and then you don't go. We talked about
the offensive line actually dominate a game, and I think

(02:36:02):
especially it was a pretty good indication in the second half.

Speaker 3 (02:36:05):
They came out.

Speaker 2 (02:36:06):
They came out in the first half and dominated, and
they came out in the second half. I think the
offensive line coach and the rest of the offensive coaches
really got onto that line and says, we can control
the game. And look, you look a lot better when
you're making first downs. And I'll tell you what. He
had some nice blocking up front and he recognized that

(02:36:27):
and it was good things to say about him.

Speaker 1 (02:36:29):
Absolutely, very good game for them. Any final thoughts their coach, No.

Speaker 2 (02:36:33):
Just next week, we're going to be at River Valley,
I believe with Ontario and Ralphie's on Wednesday night.

Speaker 3 (02:36:42):
We're back on our Wednesday night schedule, aren't we.

Speaker 1 (02:36:44):
Eric, We are back on our Wednesday night schedule for
our Ralfie's very happy about that.

Speaker 2 (02:36:49):
River Valley packs the place and come on out and
really support these teams. And we're really looking forward to
seeing y'all on Wednesday night.

Speaker 1 (02:36:58):
So thanks for joining us night here at Pleasant. Next week,
Whitehall Yearling will be home against Saint Charles, while Pleasant
will be opening MOAC play when they travel to Highland.

(02:37:21):

the conversation when we get there again. The final score
tonight forty eight to six, pleasant over Whitehall, Yearling. So
