Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now it's sevent ten wars Beat on the Street with
Natalie MIGLIORI.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Wow, Natalie is taking on a lot today. If I
read all the topics she's going to cover today, I'll
take up half her time. So as I throw to
or Beat on the Street, I'll just say Natalie, good luck, good.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
Morning, Larry. Yeah, I definitely needed it this morning. The
Trump administration has paid close attention to New York since
President Trump took office nearly three months ago. Sometimes it's
hard to keep track, like all these topics that I
kind of walked to Beat talking about today, So let's
dive right into some of the latest issues. The Trump
administration has accused New York State Attorney General Tis James

(00:43):
of mortgage fraud, alleging the Democrat and longtime Trump opponent
had lied about her Virginia house being her primary residence
and on a queen's property document show she and her
father filled out the mortgage as a married couple, and
she put her.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Father as a husband on a mortgage. I'm believer in God,
and just if you do something wrong, it's gonna come
back and bite you.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
You know, I don't believe it. Because Trump is going
after her and the story. He's on a revenge tour.

Speaker 5 (01:12):
That's it.

Speaker 6 (01:12):
He's disgusting.

Speaker 5 (01:13):
Rich people find ways to deceive and stay rich, while
poor people do not find those ways. You know, slap
on the wrist someone else who's poor to it. They're
going to jail forever. It's just up country we live in.
It's not economically balanced, our support systems are fraud.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
There you have it. Now, moving on to the Trump
administration that's also keeping a close eye on New York
because several of its college campuses have become hotbeds for
pro Palestinian demonstrations, allegedly leading to anti Semitics sentiments. The
administration has revoked student visas not only for Columbia University,

(01:54):
but most recently for Lehman College and Fordham University students
as well.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
It's gkinna read book trip. They're not going to revoke
for a reason. They're here on a visa and they
got to respect, respect our learned and respect our property.
Nobody cares anyone. We're just stop protesting.

Speaker 6 (02:09):
If these people are here legitimately, yeah, they should abide
by the rules and go by what the visa says.
You can do it for until the visa expids or whatever.
If you here this legitimately to get educated or whatever,
it's all right.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
I mean, that's just insane. The whole everything's crazy right
now in America. We're just just insane. My daughter's a
Columbia grad and it's just sad to see what's happening.
Everybody needs to do what Harvard did.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
We need to fight them now. The president did run
on a platform to carry out NASS deportations, not the
same as revoking student visas. According to authorities, more than
two hundred and six undocumented criminal migrants have been arrested
by ice in New York City.

Speaker 5 (02:49):
And so we fix this country. We don't need other
people coming here and benefiting from us. We need to
fix our country, get it safe, get it clean, get
it moderne. Like all these other countries. The infrastructure is
so much better. And then we can invite people in.
How do we invite people? And that's like inviting someone
to your home and your home is filthy. It's embarrassing.

(03:11):
We're an embarrassment right now. It's other countries.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
I guess she's saying we need some spring cleaning. But
with federal funding cuts pending, the New York City Council
held a hearing yesterday on how the city could deal
with financial setbacks if federal money doesn't come through. Don't
forget the mayor has had some meetings with the President,
who's DOJ tossed his corruption case. Council members railed against

(03:36):
the Adams administration for not showing up yesterday, and This
New Yorker says the mayor is showing up in at
least one way.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
I think.

Speaker 5 (03:45):
So. I see a lot of differences.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
I feel more safe when I take the train.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
For example, New York is discussing it's dirty, crime is everywhere,
service sucks, everywhere's being gentsified. People cannot find places to live.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
I mean, I voted for him. I want my vote back.
It's terrible. I don't know a single I go to
Beauty Solvent every weekend where we have like twenty women
and not a single woman there. It comes on the news.
We were watching the screen. As soon as he comes
on the screen, everybody's like like, no, no, he's not
from New York. We're not vote. I want my vote back.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
And now that's a vote for may Or Adams. Because
people do feel lowry, like he's maybe not protecting them
from Trump our policies. But a lot we covered this morning,
so have a crack at it in the time we have.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Let it's a long list of stuff. The one thing
that you can hear, and it's not surprising because it's
New York City, which is predominantly democratic, is an anti
Trump theme that runs through many of your answers. It
doesn't really matter what the issue is off Trump's on
the one side of the issue there against it. Is

(04:56):
that fair?

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Yeah, I mean today was a little more a bit
more difficult just because of the topics to get out
of people. Not everybody is up to date on everything
that's happening, so I feel like people just sort of
glean over it. But there was some sort of anti
Trump sentiment. I did try to balance it out. There
was one guy who did appreciate what was being done.

Speaker 6 (05:15):
But yeah, you did.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
A great job. Thanks a lot. Natalie would be back
tomorrow morning at eight fifty
