And I just want to tell you it's an honor
and a pleasure to be here. Like I said, I've

waited a long time. My fascination with the great city
of Seattle goes back to my adolescent teenage days for
the alternative grunge music era in the nineties, and I
always thought Seattle was really like the coolest city in
America because I'm like, where I'm from, up on the
opposite coast in the Northeast, never produced anything like that.

It never did.

We had new kids on the block and Marky Mark
and Seattle had actually a sound, a sound that was revolutionary,
and said, you know, I want to go there one day.

Well, lo and behold.

I did come here twenty years ago in nineteen ninety
five for the Final Four at the Kingdom. That was
my first Seattle soare and I've always been fascinated by
this place. And now I'm here, and you know, Seattle
changed the entire music game. Like I said, it wasn't
just a movement, it was a revolution. And you know,

at that time, there was this franchise, the Green and
Gold SuperSonics, led by the Glove, Gary Payton, Sean Kemp,
Detliff Shrimp, and it just seemed like there was so
much great stuff going on here. And I got to
see it up close. I'm like, you know, I want
to come back here. So then I came here really

about twenty one years later, and I got to fill
in for Softy. Okay, for Dave Mahler. So we're going
back to June twenty sixteen. I remember the week vividly.
It was the week that the Golden State Warriors had
a three to one lead on the Cleveland Cavaliers. Yes,
that Golden State team which won seventy three games that season,
breaking the ninety six Bulls record. And I was here

that week and I was like, Wow, this is awesome.

Oh my god, this is great. Obviously things have changed
the studio. Here is the state of the art. I've
never seen anything like this. It's like, you know, and
by the way, I you know, do not bring any
drinks or food into the studio. That I'm gonna probably

So filling in for Softy that week was an experience,
and now getting to be here every day, five days

You know, you're from New England, so you must be
a Patriots fan. No, wrong, Well you must be a

last June. Wrong again, and let me just tell you this,
let me go for the hat trick. I hate the
Red Sox. So I am the antithesis of probably every
New Englander that's ever. I didn't grow up on Tom Brady.
I'm the same age as Tom Brady. So I did
not grow up on that type of patriots. I grew
up on, you know, and all due respect one of

our own, Hugh Millen, Tommy Hutson, Scott Zolac and then
Drew bledsoe okay, So I didn't get the Tom Brady experience.
So I'm someone who did not grow up liking all
the New England sports teams. But I will tell you
first and foremost, I'm not shying away from it. I

am quote an outsider. But I hope in time, ladies
and gentlemen, boys and girls and children of all ages,
that you will accept me as I try to ingratiate
myself within the PNW. All right, I've already done my

sports talk stations in the country. And I've always looked
at it from the outside looking in. So it's a
little surreal to be here from the inside looking out,

which is which is great. But the fan base here,
I've always admired the twelves and I always thought here,
especially in a in a city like Seattle and the PNW,
that that Sattle fans. And I'm not trying to kiss us.
I'm just dating from the outside. What have I observed?
Extremely loyal, highly intelligent, and ones that deserve better. I

feel that hopefully one day that the Seahawks, that the Mariners,
the Kraken, and then one day c K the SuperSonics
will not will build. I don't just want you don't
just want to win a Super Bowl. No, no, no,
you're not having the right dream right. You need to win,
you want to win multiple Super Bowls. Why can't Seattle

become what New England used to be, what Kansas City
was up until yesterday, winning three out of the previous
five Super Bowls. Why can't they do it here? We'll
get to that, but Seattle deserves more and they're gonna
get more. And I'm hoping sooner than later that NBA
Commissioner Adam Silver will do the right thing and announce

that Seattle is the thirty first team in the National
Basketball Siation, because that is to me, like and I
I had an argument the other day with a friend
of mine and he's like, yeah, you know, Seattle got
screwed like Cleveland. I'm like, whoa, whoa, what are you
talking about? So, you know, like the Browns, And I said,

the Browns were gone for three years. The SuperSonics have
been gone since two thousand and eight.

You're talking an entire generation.

And by the time they officially come back, I hope
it'll be at the beginning of the twenty twenty six
twenty twenty seven season. I'm not betting on it. I
am a betting man. I don't know, I'm hoping it's
going to be then at the earliest do I think
it'll who knows. But regardless, you're talking about eighteen to
twenty years that how.

I went out yesterday with Jessmin, who obviously is the
assistant program director here at KJR and works with Ian
every day one to three, and we went out to
the Emerald Queen Casino for Softie's event, and it was just,

you know, amazing, all the fine folks there, the food
was outstanding. You're in this theater, ck, and it was
just the whole event was just packed.

And Softy is just this. Not only is he a
rock star, he's like the governor of Seattle. So Ian's
the mayor of Maple Valley, right, we got that down.

you know what, he's probably a lot more popular than

the Mayor of Seattle. So it's just amazing to be
out there. And it was fun. And I won my
first bet at Emerald Queen Casino at a teaser on
the Eagles plus seven and a half, teasing the total
down to forty two and a half betting the over.
They almost covered the over by themselves on that. So

it was just it was an unbelievable event to be at.
So far I've been here. I also got the fine
folks at the Silver Cloud Hotel Stadium in downtown fantastic.

to win a big game. They always come up short.
Going back to Mike Blatti, going back to Chip Kelly, Well,
Helfrick never won a big game. He was a Mario Christobal. Please,

I think is one of the best coaches in college football,
absolutely wet the bet against Ohio State. So Oregon eight

national titles. They're the only school in America who has

all along going into this game, and I didn't think
it would be this. I literally thought this was gonna
be what we saw two years ago, thirty eight to
thirty five. I thought it was gonna be close. I
thought the Eagles would make some place down the stretch
and Jalen Carter would be a dark horse for the MVP.
What happened yesterday was an emasculation of Patrick Mahomes, Travis

Kelsey and the Kansas City Chiefs. Patrick mahomes quarterback rating
in the first half was one one. They didn't get
past their own forty yard line. Kid in the first half,
they didn't get past their own forty what I mean.

And as much as we're gonna give kudos to the
Eagles defense and to Nick Sirianni, who's been the most
criticized head coach, He's made the playoffs four straight years.
Every year he's been the head coach, he's gone to
two Super Bowls, he's won one. He's got the monkey
off of his back. But you gotta give credit to

the guy who is now on a path to Canton, Ohio.

Jalen Hurts yesterday is now now, He's already been a

Bowls and quite frankly, he outperformed Mahomes in both of them.
He did now unforgivably in the first one, got the fumble,

difference in that game. And the defense couldn't stop anything.
Two years ago they just couldn't. But Jalen Hurts was
unreal in that game. It's time now he's been off criticized.

against Green Bay, did not look good against the Rams.

Daniels who looks like he's gonna be around for a while.
And Minnesota, depending on what happens with Sam Darnold, and
hopefully the hometown Seahawks, we'll get to how far the
Seahawks are away from getting to Super Bowl sixty coming

my opinion, arguably the best play by play announcer on
the planet. Iron Eagle football basketball, as good as he gets.
The only guy that I would put on his level

What did you think of what you saw yesterday?

Dominant performance. I did not forecast this. I know everyone
thinks of their weather man. Weather lady, you can do
your best to predict right how much snow, how much
rain you're gonna get. I did not see this rain
storm for the Chiefs, I just didn't see it. It was
a flood. They had no protection. How they looked coming
into the game. What's far different when they got on

that stage, and that just showed how dominant that D
line was, and it reminded me of the hometown team,
the Seahawks, when they won that Super Bowl in twenty fourteen,
when they just dismantled the number one offense in the league.

During about the end of the third quarter, when they're
up by thirty four points, they put the statistic, this

of shock. Not that the Eagles won, but like you

Was just this wasn't even a game.

I tweeted out, I think in the second quarter when
it was twenty seven nothing, how many of y'all just
turned the game off, right, And I'm sure there are
millions that I've been like, you know what, I'll come
back later, or I'm just doing something else, because it
got to a point where it was over there wasn't
gonna be Oh, Mahomes is gonna pull up Brady and
come back, because that when it was early and they

were down seventeens or I said, okay, they can get
a touchdown here, seventeen seven come back in the second half,
seventeen fourteen.

my first Seattle soare and I've always been fascinated by

in the first half was one one. They didn't get

difference in that game. And the defense couldn't stop anything.
Two years ago they just couldn't. But Jalen Hurts was
unreal in that game. It's time now he's been off criticized.

against Green Bay, did not look good against the Rams.

What did you think of what you saw yesterday?

Dominant performance. I did not forecast this. I know everyone
thinks of their weather man. Weather lady, you can do
your best to predict right how much snow, how much
rain you're gonna get. I did not see this rain
storm for the Chiefs, I just didn't see it. It was
a flood. They had no protection. How they looked coming
into the game. What's far different when they got on

that stage, and that just showed how dominant that D
line was, and it reminded me of the hometown team,
the Seahawks, when they won that Super Bowl in twenty fourteen,
when they just dismantled the number one offense in the league.

During about the end of the third quarter, when they're
up by thirty four points, they put the statistic, this
is the second largest lead in Super Bowl history, next

was phenomenal, But I'm still it's in a little bit
of shock. Not that the Eagles won, but like you

gonna be Oh, Mahomes is gonna pull up Brady and
come back, because that when it was early and they

We got a ballgame that never happened never.

And you know the Eagles, kid, they only had a
field goal for the better part of ten the first
ten minutes of the third quarter. It was twenty seven nothing.
They picked off Mahomes and then I thought, what a
call by Kellen Moore, the new head coach of the
New Orleans Saints, on Jalen Hurts. They just said, we

are going for the kill shot and he hit Devonte
Smith kind of like their days at Alabama when Devonte
was a freshman he used to do and like wow,
they win for the kill shot. And at that point,
thirty four to nothing, it was like game over, season
over for the Kansas City Chiefs. And let me all

also say this, stop with the goat talk. There is
only one goat in football history. His name is Thomas
Edward Patrick Brady. Period exclamation point. That is over. That
is over now if Mahomes would have won yesterday.

Lamar guy. I don't listen to his music. Oh so,

other artists that I listen to that I would love
to see on the stage for super Bowl. But I'm

also not the biggest guy that watches or cares for

show that is the highest rated TV show of all time.

obviously Kelsey Taylor Swift. If Drake was there yesterday, that
