destroyed Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelcey and the Kansas City Chiefs
forty to twenty two. Wasn't even that close, Jalen hurts,
Oh man, he he has outperformed Patrick Mahomes in both
Super Bowls, but this one he came up with the

(00:53):
upper hand.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
Mark Williams physical with the Lakers showed multiple issues and
the team failed him on the exam. Also, come to
find out, and had nothing to do with this back
injury that had him out for the most part of
the season last year.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
Wow Wow, And from the category of like we knew
this was gonna happen, literally less than a week after
they traded for him, The Dallas Mavericks Anthony Davis is
expected to miss multiple weeks with a left abductor strained.
Sources tell ESPN his absence could stretch to a month.

very good to say that as I come to you
live right here from the R and R Broadcast studios,

(03:27):
and I've waited for a very long time, over literally
maybe eighteen years, to be in this spot. My name
is Mark James. By the way, you can call me MJ.
And this is the pilot the brand new show MJ
in the Midday on KJR ninety three three, Seattle Sports Leader.
And I just want to tell you it's an honor
and a pleasure to be here. Like I said, I've

(03:48):
waited a long time. My fascination with the great city
of Seattle goes back to my adolescent teenage days for
the alternative grunge music era in the nineties, and I
always thought Seattle was really like the coolest city in
America because I'm like, where I'm from, up on the
opposite coast in the Northeast, never produced anything like that.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
It never did.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
We had new kids on the block and Marky Mark
and Seattle had actually a sound, a sound that was revolutionary,
and said, you know, I want to go there one day.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Well, lo and behold.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
I did come here twenty years ago in nineteen ninety
five for the Final Four at the Kingdom. That was
my first Seattle soare and I've always been fascinated by
this place. And now I'm here, and you know, Seattle
changed the entire music game. Like I said, it wasn't
just a movement, it was a revolution. And you know,

(04:41):
at that time, there was this franchise, the Green and
Gold SuperSonics, led by the Glove, Gary Payton, Sean Kemp,
Detliff Shrimp, and it just seemed like there was so
much great stuff going on here. And I got to
see it up close. I'm like, you know, I want
to come back here. So then I came here really

(05:02):
about twenty one years later, and I got to fill
in for Softy. Okay, for Dave Mahler. So we're going
back to June twenty sixteen. I remember the week vividly.
It was the week that the Golden State Warriors had
a three to one lead on the Cleveland Cavaliers. Yes,
that Golden State team which won seventy three games that season,
breaking the ninety six Bulls record. And I was here

(05:22):
that week and I was like, Wow, this is awesome.
There's free cokes and the coke machine outside the studio.
Oh my god, this is great. Obviously things have changed
the studio. Here is the state of the art. I've
never seen anything like this. It's like, you know, and
by the way, I you know, do not bring any
drinks or food into the studio. That I'm gonna probably

(05:44):
mistake number one on me right away. But nonetheless, Yeah,
So filling in for Softy that week was an experience,
and now getting to be here every day, five days
a week is even better. So you might ask about me.
You know, you're from New England, so you must be
a Patriots fan. No, wrong, Well you must be a

(06:04):
Celtics fan. They just won the eighteenth NBA World title
last June. Wrong again, and let me just tell you this,
let me go for the hat trick. I hate the
Red Sox. So I am the antithesis of probably every
New Englander that's ever. I didn't grow up on Tom Brady.
I'm the same age as Tom Brady. So I did
not grow up on that type of patriots. I grew
up on, you know, and all due respect one of

(06:27):
our own, Hugh Millen, Tommy Hutson, Scott Zolac and then
Drew bledsoe okay, So I didn't get the Tom Brady experience.
So I'm someone who did not grow up liking all
the New England sports teams. But I will tell you
first and foremost, I'm not shying away from it. I

(06:47):
am quote an outsider. But I hope in time, ladies
and gentlemen, boys and girls and children of all ages,
that you will accept me as I try to ingratiate
myself within the PNW. All right, I've already done my
research on the pronunciation of places around here, PW wallup,

(07:08):
snow kwame, swinamish till it come snowhomish. H I've got
Christopher kidd akack Issaquah. You know I'm Hoke wiem Squim.
Did I get all those right? K?

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Thank you? All right? Well, I've done my homework there
and I'm trying to do that.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
And I got to tell you this first of all,
first and foremost, I've I'm a big, huge sports talk
radio fan. I wanted to come to this station because
this is one of the top five to whatever ten
sports talk stations in the country. And I've always looked
at it from the outside looking in. So it's a
little surreal to be here from the inside looking out,

(07:48):
which is which is great. But the fan base here,
I've always admired the twelves and I always thought here,
especially in a in a city like Seattle and the PNW,
that that Sattle fans. And I'm not trying to kiss us.
I'm just dating from the outside. What have I observed?
Extremely loyal, highly intelligent, and ones that deserve better. I

(08:11):
feel that hopefully one day that the Seahawks, that the Mariners,
the Kraken, and then one day c K the SuperSonics
will not will build. I don't just want you don't
just want to win a Super Bowl. No, no, no,
you're not having the right dream right. You need to win,
you want to win multiple Super Bowls. Why can't Seattle

(08:34):
become what New England used to be, what Kansas City
was up until yesterday, winning three out of the previous
five Super Bowls. Why can't they do it here? We'll
get to that, but Seattle deserves more and they're gonna
get more. And I'm hoping sooner than later that NBA
Commissioner Adam Silver will do the right thing and announce

(08:54):
that Seattle is the thirty first team in the National
Basketball Siation, because that is to me, like and I
I had an argument the other day with a friend
of mine and he's like, yeah, you know, Seattle got
screwed like Cleveland. I'm like, whoa, whoa, what are you
talking about? So, you know, like the Browns, And I said,

(09:17):
the Browns were gone for three years. The SuperSonics have
been gone since two thousand and eight.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
You're talking an entire generation.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
And by the time they officially come back, I hope
it'll be at the beginning of the twenty twenty six
twenty twenty seven season. I'm not betting on it. I
am a betting man. I don't know, I'm hoping it's
going to be then at the earliest do I think
it'll who knows. But regardless, you're talking about eighteen to
twenty years that how.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
Old are you?

Speaker 5 (09:47):
Thirty two?

Speaker 3 (09:48):
Okay, so you got you remember him enough, okay, But
if you're under the age of twenty five twenty four,
you probably don't have a frame of reference when it
comes to the NBA.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Am I wrong?

Speaker 5 (10:01):
I would agree with that, okay.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
So this is and you know the worst part.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
This is one of the best basketball cities in the country,
without a doubt, one of the best basketball cities in
the country. So the fact that there's a team that's
in Memphis and there's a team in.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Oh k C.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
And listen, no disrespect to shake Gildess Alexander. He didn't
move the Sonics that ahole. Clay Bennett did, okay, and
the other one, Howard Schultz. That's they're the ones who
did it. It wasn't Sga okay, it wasn't Jalen Williams
either one it So I'm looking forward to that and

(10:42):
hopefully it'll come back sooner than later. So as you heard,
no introduction needed. My new partner in crime across the glass.
Who doesn't need an introduction, but Christopher Kidd aka Ck.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
It's my pleasure to be your tag team partner.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
C K.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
You are.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
You're gonna be the uh, the Tom Hagen to my
Michael Corleone.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
All right, so you're gonna keep me on track. You're
gonna keep me in line.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
And're on track. Yeah, well that's good. That's good because
I'm gonna make sure I stay on track. And you know,
and I just want to say this when I'm talking
about KJR, is that this is an all star team
prior to my arrival obviously, you know you got Softian
Dick in the afternoons, Chuck and Buck in the morning,
and the mayor of Maple Valley in Ferness coming up
after me between one and three. I'm just coming in

(11:29):
as the sixth man. I want to be the nas
read of KJR. That's it, right, That's all I'm trying
to be. I'm coming in trying to do my thing.
I went out yesterday with Jessmin, who obviously is the
assistant program director here at KJR and works with Ian
every day one to three, and we went out to
the Emerald Queen Casino for Softie's event, and it was just,

(11:51):
you know, amazing, all the fine folks there, the food
was outstanding. You're in this theater, ck, and it was
just the whole event was just packed.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
The food.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
Did I say the food was great, because I let
me just mention that the food was off the chain.
And Softy is just this. Not only is he a
rock star, he's like the governor of Seattle. So Ian's
the mayor of Maple Valley, right, we got that down.
Softie's got to be like the governor of Seattle. And actually,
you know what, he's probably a lot more popular than

(12:24):
the Mayor of Seattle. So it's just amazing to be
out there. And it was fun. And I won my
first bet at Emerald Queen Casino at a teaser on
the Eagles plus seven and a half, teasing the total
down to forty two and a half betting the over.
They almost covered the over by themselves on that. So

(12:45):
it was just it was an unbelievable event to be at.
So far I've been here. I also got the fine
folks at the Silver Cloud Hotel Stadium in downtown fantastic.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
And I will tell you C. K.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
Jessaman said that you and I need to go to
Dix Burger's together. So I mentioned that to you and
our steam boss, Rich Moore and Mark Lynn also, and
think those because I will say this. You know they
always say I like to thank my family because if
not for them, I wouldn't be here. If it wasn't
for richmore Mark Lynn, I definitely would not be here.
So I want to thank them first and foremost. Now

(13:18):
I can done with that brown nosing. So I said, weeah,
let's go to DICKX Burger's. And Rich said to you, hey,
you know what, didn't you win some gift cards so
now you can pay for me?

Speaker 2 (13:29):
And I like free. I'm big freank.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
But Jimmy's on First, which is a big place and
obviously a partner of the station attached the Silver Cloud
had arguably the best burger in my life on Friday night,
the Smash Burger at Jimmy's on First. It was outstanding,
the service, everything. So I'm not telling you guys anything
you don't know, but next time you go to Jimmy's
on First. I know there's multiple locations, get the smash Burger.

(13:54):
It was unbelievable. So I will tell you this c
k as you can see already from how I am.
I'm sort of like the Sam Adams beer of sports
talk radio. I'm anna a quiere taste, all right, I'm
I'm as two Chains once rapped. I'm different. Yeah, I'm different. Okay,
that's me in a nutshell at two Chains. I am different.

(14:16):
As matter of fact, we'll get to that coming up
and hitting to all feelds at the end of the hour.
I wish Two Chains would have performed yesterday because at
least people would have known what songs were being sung.
With all due respect to Kendrick Lamar, but just give
me a chance. Maybe the first, the second, the third,
the tenth, or the sixty third time you hear me,
I'll kind of grow on you like a fungus. So

(14:39):
just give me a shot, and I will tell you.
We have some common enemies. I mentioned two of them already,
Clay Bennett, Howard Schultz. Well, how about every sports team
in the state of California. How about the Lakers absolutely
despise them. How about the Dodgers, the forty nine Ers,
the Rams, the Chargers, usc you see a and everything California.

(15:02):
And I know you love this guy, but you and
I will come to verbal blows on him who I
despise more than any athlete out there, Lebron James.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
So I'll throw that out there as well.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
I know you you think Lebron and believe me, well
it's yeah. But and I mentioned this on Chuck and
Buck earlier today. There's there's one team in particular, and
I actually met a preseason prop wager on them to
win the college Football National Championship before last season began.
The Oregon Ducks. Right, Well, of course, what do they do.

(15:33):
The Ducks do what the Ducks do. When it's time
to win a big game. They always come up short.
Going back to Mike Blatti, going back to Chip Kelly, Well,
Helfrick never won a big game. He was a Mario Christobal. Please,
he never won anything with Justin Herbert and Willie Taggert
as well. And then lo and behold, Dan Lanning, who

(15:55):
I think is one of the best coaches in college football,
absolutely wet the bet against Ohio State. So Oregon eight
and a half thousand uniform combinations, Phil Knight, Nike zero
national titles. They're the only school in America who has
a letter at midfield showing how many titles. They have
zero I'm talking to you, Eugene, three guarantees in live

(16:18):
death taxes in Oregon, always coming up bridesmaids with no rings,
and I look at them and it's like, Dan Lanning.
Is he like the Steve Starkesian of the Big Ten?

Speaker 2 (16:29):
Now you know?

Speaker 3 (16:30):
Is he that got to meet the coach Mike Homgren
before the show?

Speaker 2 (16:36):
Unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
As much as he truly is a Hall of Fame coach,
met them once, hall of fame human being. And I
will just tell you this, the Hall of Fame Committee
should be ashamed of themselves. They are the Hall of
Shame Committee. First of all, this class absolutely sucked Number
one Eric Allen. Really he was a good cornerback, Eric Allen.
Don't you don't elect one of the best coaches in

(17:00):
NFL history because of something stupid and you put Eric
Allen in there. By the way, Mike Holmgren forty eight
more wins than Dick for Meal, just want to state
that for the record, he's the textbook definition and epitome
and embodiment of a Hall of Famer period. The fact
that he has to wait another year is a bleeping joke.
In twenty twenty five can should be known as the

(17:20):
Hall of Shame, because that's what it is. All right,
Enough about that Super Bowl fifty nine is in the books.
What did we learn about the game? We will get
to that next on the Pilot, The maiden Voyage of MJ.
In the midday on Seattle Sports Leader ninety three to

(17:42):
three kJ RTAM a.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
Message to our audience, your game, softy have passed back
in the day.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
Now look where he's at. This is Mark James. He
kind knowing me sensitive MJ.

Speaker 1 (17:53):
In the midday on Sports Radio ninety three point three
KJR FM.

Speaker 6 (17:59):
Is sixteen booked to fire picked up Cooper Deine Dozine is.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
Welcome back to MJ.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
In the midday at the NR Broadcast Studios on KJR
ninety three to three FM. Of course, you know that
if you want to get into the Tolamard text line
four nine.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
Four or five one. When it's game time, it's Tully time.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
And that play it wasn't the straw that broke the
camel's back because it was still seventeen nothing at that point.
But it was like, WHOA something is going on here.
Cooper Degene, rookie out of Iowa, a white safety, which
is something that you haven't really seen too too much.
John Lynch is not many of them on his birthday,

(18:55):
first player in the history of the Super Bowl. And
and by the way, speaking of the text line, they're
already there and I love this. They're already on me
because I called you Ck and they said his nicknames kid.
So I'm gonna ask you, Christopher. Would your mom calls
you Christopher? I'll call you Christopher. But we got a
shorten it a little bit. What do you prefer c?

Speaker 2 (19:14):
K or Kid?

Speaker 4 (19:15):
Just tell me when you had the MJ and CK
have made sense? Okay, MJ and kid don't ring, so
all right, right now, it could be kid. But if
it ever does get to MJK, we could probably do that.

Speaker 5 (19:26):
But just with kid.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
All right, Kid, we go. Kid.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
Well listen, you're eagle part of the show. So I
I you know you have opened my kid? All right, Kid?

Speaker 2 (19:34):
All right?

Speaker 3 (19:35):
So I had Philly. I had Philly. I loved Philly
all along going into this game, and I didn't think
it would be this. I literally thought this was gonna
be what we saw two years ago, thirty eight to
thirty five. I thought it was gonna be close. I
thought the Eagles would make some place down the stretch
and Jalen Carter would be a dark horse for the MVP.
What happened yesterday was an emasculation of Patrick Mahomes, Travis

(20:00):
Kelsey and the Kansas City Chiefs. Patrick mahomes quarterback rating
in the first half was one one. They didn't get
past their own forty yard line. Kid in the first half,
they didn't get past their own forty what I mean.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
It was just unbelievable. What a performance.

Speaker 3 (20:22):
And as much as we're gonna give kudos to the
Eagles defense and to Nick Sirianni, who's been the most
criticized head coach, He's made the playoffs four straight years.
Every year he's been the head coach, he's gone to
two Super Bowls, he's won one. He's got the monkey
off of his back. But you gotta give credit to

(20:43):
the guy who is now on a path to Canton, Ohio.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
Patrick Mahomes is already there. I'm talking about Jalen Hurts.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
Let's start giving him his flowers, his kudos, his props.
Jalen Hurts yesterday is now now, He's already been a
regular seas He's an MVP. He's been in two Super
Bowls and quite frankly, he outperformed Mahomes in both of them.
He did now unforgivably in the first one, got the fumble,

(21:13):
scoop and score by Nick Bolton, which ultimately was the
difference in that game. And the defense couldn't stop anything.
Two years ago they just couldn't. But Jalen Hurts was
unreal in that game. It's time now he's been off criticized.
He was hurt for the towards the end of the season.
He comes back for the playoffs. Did not look good
against Green Bay, did not look good against the Rams.

(21:36):
Jalen Hurts Fly Eagles Fly on the road to victory.
I love it because I hate the Chiefs. So for me,
it was just poetic. And how about this? And I
was talking to coach Holmgren before the show. They sat
Patrick Mahomes not one, not two, not three, not four,
not five, but six times the most of any game

(21:58):
in his career. Kid, And they didn't Blintz once. Vic
Fangio said, you know what, I'm just gonna put four
on you. I'm gonna put Jalen Carter Williams. I'm gonna
put my four. I don't need to blitch you. And
that's what old. So the NFL is a copycat league, right,
we know this, right? I mean going back to the
freaking Wildcat with Tony Sperano and Miami, which people were

(22:20):
actually copying for.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
A little bit soil.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
They realized it was just some gimmick offense that wouldn't
work long term.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
The blueprint has been laid. And I asked this question.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
I said this before the game, kid, why doesn't Philly
do exactly what Todd Bowles defense did four years ago
with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with Tom Brady and what
they did to Mahomes in that game?

Speaker 2 (22:46):
They made him uncomfortable.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
Levante David absolutely just destroyed Travis Kelsey in that game.
The Eagles defense was I won't say ten times better,
but infinitely better than that Bucks defense, which is pretty
good Vita Veya and the boys, you know, but they
did it. They established it right away. And kudos to
the Eagles.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
Man.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
They are They're gonna be around for a while. They're
a team that you will see them now in the NFC.
The Eagles, the Lions. I'm pretty bullish on Jordan Love
and the Packers, and obviously obviously there's a kid, not
Christopher Kid. There's a kid in DC right now, Jaden

(23:30):
Daniels who looks like he's gonna be around for a while.
And Minnesota, depending on what happens with Sam Darnold, and
hopefully the hometown Seahawks, we'll get to how far the
Seahawks are away from getting to Super Bowl sixty coming
up later in the show. Also, by the way, joining
us later in the show at noon will be, in

(23:51):
my opinion, arguably the best play by play announcer on
the planet. Iron Eagle football basketball, as good as he gets.
The only guy that I would put on his level
would be Mike Tarico, both Syracuse guys. An Eagle will
join us coming up at noon. We appreciate it making time.
What did you think of what you saw yesterday?

Speaker 4 (24:09):
Dominant performance. I did not forecast this. I know everyone
thinks of their weather man. Weather lady, you can do
your best to predict right how much snow, how much
rain you're gonna get. I did not see this rain
storm for the Chiefs, I just didn't see it. It was
a flood. They had no protection. How they looked coming
into the game. What's far different when they got on

(24:30):
that stage, and that just showed how dominant that D
line was, and it reminded me of the hometown team,
the Seahawks, when they won that Super Bowl in twenty fourteen,
when they just dismantled the number one offense in the league.

Speaker 5 (24:42):
The D line just destroyed them.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
And did you see us today, kid?

Speaker 3 (24:46):
During about the end of the third quarter, when they're
up by thirty four points, they put the statistic, this
is the second largest lead in Super Bowl history, next
to the Seahawks versus the Broncos. It was up by
thirty six at that point, which I love. So that
was phenomenal, But I'm still it's in a little bit
of shock. Not that the Eagles won, but like you

(25:09):
just said, the one word domin I mean, this.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
Was just this wasn't even a game.

Speaker 5 (25:12):
No.

Speaker 4 (25:13):
I tweeted out, I think in the second quarter when
it was twenty seven nothing, how many of y'all just
turned the game off, right, And I'm sure there are
millions that I've been like, you know what, I'll come
back later, or I'm just doing something else, because it
got to a point where it was over there wasn't
gonna be Oh, Mahomes is gonna pull up Brady and
come back, because that when it was early and they

(25:35):
were down seventeens or I said, okay, they can get
a touchdown here, seventeen seven come back in the second half,
seventeen fourteen.

Speaker 5 (25:40):
We got a ballgame that never happened never.

Speaker 3 (25:43):
And you know the Eagles, kid, they only had a
field goal for the better part of ten the first
ten minutes of the third quarter. It was twenty seven nothing.
They picked off Mahomes and then I thought, what a
call by Kellen Moore, the new head coach of the
New Orleans Saints, on Jalen Hurts. They just said, we

(26:04):
are going for the kill shot and he hit Devonte
Smith kind of like their days at Alabama when Devonte
was a freshman he used to do and like wow,
they win for the kill shot. And at that point,
thirty four to nothing, it was like game over, season
over for the Kansas City Chiefs. And let me all

(26:27):
also say this, stop with the goat talk. There is
only one goat in football history. His name is Thomas
Edward Patrick Brady. Period exclamation point. That is over. That
is over now if Mahomes would have won yesterday.

Speaker 2 (26:49):
He'd been four to one.

Speaker 3 (26:51):
By the age of twenty eight, all right, still three
and two. I mean he's been a starter for seven years.
He's gone to five super Bowls. That's incredible. But you're
never gonna catch TV twelve, I think, and I'm gonna
go I'm not even gonna go on a limb here, kid,
I'm saying long term. I think Patrick Mahomes might get

(27:12):
to five. He will get to four, but there's no guarantee.
Bro Hey, don't forget how many years did it take
between Tom Brady to get from Super Bowl three to
Super Bowl four? Took him a decade a deck from
twenty seven to thirty seven years old. Now Mahomes obviously
he's twenty eight, so like he's got he's gonna have

(27:32):
another ten who knows, maybe fifteen year Maybe he'll play
till he's forty three years old. But we can stop
with the goat talk now. I do think Mahomes when
it's all said and done, I think he's gonna be
the second greatest quarterback in NFL history. I think he's
gonna surpass Joe Montana. But the goat talk, let's leave
that one.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
That's it. Anything else that just really stood out to you.

Speaker 5 (27:54):
I would also like to mention just how inept Travis Key.

Speaker 4 (28:00):
He looked out there, that was your number one, number
one target, and he looked lost in the sauce.

Speaker 5 (28:06):
Yep, I give credit to that.

Speaker 4 (28:08):
Secondary Also DeAndre Hopkins, a guy that was really good
at one point. He had opportunities and he dropped pass.
I know he stumbled, but when everything needed for them
to be excellent, they were not excellent. No, So I
know the old line's gonna get a lot of blame,
but there were opportunities they just didn't execute.

Speaker 5 (28:25):
So I'm not surprised, but I was.

Speaker 4 (28:28):
I just couldn't believe what I was seeing as the
game kept going, because I'm like, dang, they're really getting
their boots kicked in.

Speaker 3 (28:33):
It really, to me, was reminiscent of what Tampa did
to them four years ago, but even more dominant. It
was even like like Jalen Carter, what we're watching right now,
We're watching accombination and and and this is lofty praise
Aaron Donald and Warren sapp He's that guy. He's that dude.

(28:54):
And believe me, Jared Verse with the Rams defensive Rookie
of the Year, no doubt about it. But the Eagles
are not going anywhere, and neither are we. Kid Mark
James MJ in the midday, So hitting to all fields,
what did you think about some of the things that
we saw that didn't have to do between the lines

(29:19):
yesterday at the super Dome in Seattle. We'll get to
that next right here on Sports Leader ninety three to
three KJRM from yesterday. I want to say this one
thing about Patrick Mahomes yesterday. The Philadelphia Eagles made him
look like Gardner Minshew yesterday. He wasn't Patrick Mahomes, he
was Patrick Minshew. He was I love my Koobs. I'm

(29:42):
a huge Minshew guy. Everyone knows that was good. Like
he's just you know what I mean, Like, there's just
so that's what it's and I appreciate. I want to
say this too on everybody on the Tolomore do text
line four ninet four five one. That's right when it's
game time, it's tall time. Getting a lot of responses,

(30:03):
which positive negative. I just love them all. I love
them all. So we'll get to that. So some of
the things that I noticed yesterday, Number first and foremost.
I really like Kendrick Lamar, I do. But Roger Goodell
let Jay Z be in charge of the entertainment for

(30:23):
the super Bowl halftime for the better part of the
last four years, I want to say. And he's picked
some good acts. He really has. I mean he, you know,
Usher little kind of passed his prime. But that's fine.
I don't mind it.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
It's all good.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
Kendrick Lamar. And I will tell you this, and I kid,
you tell me if I'm wrong on this. I don't
think ninety four or five percent of the people knew
the songs that were coming out of his mouth yesterday.

Speaker 4 (30:52):
He's I'm not so fun fact, I'm not a Kendrick
Lamar guy. I don't listen to his music. Oh so,
I just I'm probably that percentile. R Anderson, who you've met,
He's like, Chris, you're not a Kendrick fan. I'm like,
he just his music's not for me. You know, there's
other artists that I listen to that I would love
to see on the stage for super Bowl. But I'm

(31:12):
also not the biggest guy that watches or cares for
halftime performances. To me, it's like, oh okay, cool, I
just I'm with you, Mark. I just don't listen to Kendrick.
Don't know how many songs he has. That's just not
my bag. And that's okay. I'm sure he's a great artist.
I mean, the this song we all know that was legendary.

Speaker 2 (31:30):
I go ahead to tell the people the name of it.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
Not like us, not like us, right, poor Drake, So
he's but here's the thing about it, Okay, right there,
you just named it. Now, if Drake was up there
at halftime, the whole country is singing along to God's Plan,
hotline Bling, you name it.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
Everybody knows so like Drake.

Speaker 3 (31:51):
And I'll tell you something about Drake is I'm a
huge old you know when it comes to I'm an
old head when it comes to rap and hip hop music.
But I have a pre I don't really like Drake.
I don't think he has like a lot of street cred.
But his music and his songs are they are crossover.
You are dealing with an audience of it's the biggest
show that is the highest rated TV show of all time.

(32:14):
When the ratings come out, it always tops the previous season.
And since yesterday you had a Super super Bowl in
the Chiefs and the Eagles, two huge brands. Mahomes hurts
obviously Kelsey Taylor Swift. If Drake was there yesterday, that
is that would have been an epic performance. I'm what
I and I think that Kendrick Lamar did a great job.

(32:36):
I just think people are like I've never heard you
got to understand your target demo and who you were
appealing to.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
And I don't think about.

Speaker 5 (32:46):
Due a poll mark on your Twitter due a poll
and SAE by the.

Speaker 2 (32:49):
Way, I'm being shadowed.

Speaker 3 (32:50):
I think I'm being shodow even though ten I've got
a lot of followers today. So some people found me.
I for a while of inshadow band on Twitter. I
don't know why I think I have been I don't know.
I don't know Elon Musk personally, but I know that
people My handle's very easy.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
It's Mark James n A R. C. James.

Speaker 3 (33:06):
It's very easy. There's no underscore, there's non anything. And
yet so apparently people have found me. But I feel
for a long time, and granted I've been negligent on
social media for a while, but now I get paid it.
Now I want to be ladies and gentlemen, right right now,
I will be I just feel like there was that.
I love the fact and maybe it was mostly Eagles fans.

(33:26):
Taylor Swift getting booed that was my one of my favorite.
Many times did they show her because I don't remember,
not many, but they showed her twice, maybe two or
three times. Wow, but she got booed big time. Now,
maybe there were more Eagles fans there than she stad,
but she definitely got booed, no doubt about it.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
No, I don't I loved it. I loved it. So
it did not live.

Speaker 3 (33:47):
It did not leave a quote blank space if you
know what I mean. All Right, I gave one of
her horrible songs that are out there and sweet you
might get.

Speaker 4 (33:56):
In trouble now I'm gonna have to dump to save you.
I don't know how many swift Is are listening, but
be careful, all right. By the way, she's the biggest
star in the world.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
We know that.

Speaker 3 (34:05):
Let me just say this. Listen, she's the biggest star
in the world. And she's obviously an immense talent. And
did you see the outfit that Travis Kelcey showed up
to the game yesterday. It's like he was like he
was wearing some seventies like butterfly collar bell. But it's
like you're dating the biggest star in the world. Don't, don't,

(34:27):
don't be douchey. Just don't be okay, don't don't go
out there and be a bag. You don't you get
enough attention Travis.

Speaker 4 (34:35):
No what We'll take it to the text line four
nine four five one. But what do you think of
of travis outfit?

Speaker 2 (34:41):
Let's do seventies? Did it work?

Speaker 5 (34:42):
Did he know it? Well?

Speaker 2 (34:43):
It definitely didn't work because they got destroyed.

Speaker 5 (34:46):
Mark, he's out on it.

Speaker 2 (34:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (34:48):
They said, well, some people aren't fans of Drake. You know, listen,
you could say what you want. Drake is a transcended
commercial box office star period all right, And how about
this one songs?

Speaker 2 (35:04):
Where's the melodies? It was nothing but rapping.

Speaker 3 (35:07):
Everyone I talked you thought it was the worst halftime
show and I love hip hop. Wow, So someone just
call me Softy Junior. I'll take a I'll take that
as a compliment. If I'm anywhere near as a fraction
and I owed it as popular as Softy there, then
I'm doing something right. So there's good. We only watch

(35:28):
because of Kendrick. Lol, no clue, who's a halftime show.
I still don't, but I kind of. I think Mark's
biggest point was outside of that one song.

Speaker 5 (35:37):
Yeah, not many people just know who he is.

Speaker 3 (35:40):
And by the way, he's got the validation from Dre
and all the old heads and rap ice Cubes scoom back.
They say he right now is the best in the game.
I'm not denying that. I'm telling you that ninety plus
percent of the audience did not at all know the
songs he was singing.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
Travis did look like a d bag.

Speaker 3 (35:59):
This is according to a text here on the text line,
So it's it's like you're dating the biggest star in
the world.

Speaker 2 (36:05):
Just act like it.

Speaker 3 (36:06):
You like it, like don't It's like, don't be don't
be a try hard You don't need to try hard.
You're arguably the greatest tight end in NFL history. And
I will say he is, and I will even say maybe,
in my mind, he probably is better than Gronk.

Speaker 2 (36:20):
Do you know why? Because he's never hurt.

Speaker 3 (36:23):
Gronk is the Anthony Davis of tight ends. He can
never ever hurt. All right, coming up next? Oh yeah,
I've been waiting for this one. I'm trying to become
a true Seattle LIGHTE. I'm an outsider, I admit it.
So I want your advice, not only the text line,
just on social media. Whatever. How do I become a

(36:44):
true Seattle Light. Next on MJ in the Midday with
c K. Christopher Kidd ninety three to three KJRTHM
