free music is about to get started heading your way
in just a few minutes. Today, the Crazy Train is
headed out to Florida.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
I know he's crazy. What happened in Florida was exciting there.

Speaker 8 (04:49):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Vero Beach, Florida.

Speaker 5 (04:51):
A man is sitting in jail right now. All he
wanted to do was buy a brand new car, so
he went to the Hundai dealer ship in Vero Beach.
He caught an uber there because he didn't have a car.
His last fifty dollars he used to spend on.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
This uber ride so he could go get a brand
new car.

Speaker 5 (05:11):
When he got to the dealership, he applied for the
loan and unfortunately he was denied.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Oh that sucks, Yeah it does. It really sucked for him.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
He was so mad because he spent his last fifty
dollars in an uber to get there. Because he thought
he was going to be leaving in a brand new car.
He decided to, well, you know, sinceamri at the car dealership,
I'll just steal one, not steal a new car. He
found another car that he liked with the keys in
the ignition. Because he was so mad he spent all
his money to get there, he just decided to just

(05:44):
take a car. No, the car had a GPS locator
and he was found shortly after at his house, the
same house that he put the address to on his
finance application.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Like Brud, seriously smarter, Oh gosh, what are you gonna do?
That is your daily crazy news story.

You can ride the Crazy Train every weekday at seven ten,
nine forty and always find the stories on demand. If
you miss them, you can go to Classic Hits one
O three seven dot com anytime.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
Christie Lie.

Speaker 5 (06:24):
Tough love versus traumatization is the question this morning for
the great debate. It's a thirty and every Monday, Wednesday
and Friday at this time always have a great debate
and would be able to do it without your input.
So there's a coach on TikTok who is going viral
right now for the way that he talked to one
of his football players.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
I have a seat, you, big dumb.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
You just line up three series in a row outside
Becker and you're on to his side.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Becker, you gotta have some tough with wear on the son.
You gonna stand that. Sorry, do'sn't missing practice. That's whim
not being there when I needed you.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
All of a sun get.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
Cold stuff on me. Dang, he was not playing around.

Speaker 5 (07:01):
Yeah, he is in this kid's face and it's probably
middle school or high school. And actually the video is
titled this is a Love Language? Really, yes, So that
is the question this morning. Is a coach yelling at
their players a love language? Is it teaching them or
is it traumatizing the students?

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Big dumb dummy, I mean calling them names, that's kind
of mean.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
But I'm not for the coaches yelling at kids regardless
of their age. I think it really can affect their
confidence and distract them as players.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
I'm not for it.

Speaker 5 (07:37):
If you're a coach, you know you gotta make sure
your players are handling their business because number one, they
could get hurt if they're not paying attention or they're
not listening to you, they could hurt someone else. And
I think on the sports field it's a little different.
You know, we're die hard football fans, right, and I'm
sure you know Shanahan.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
Isn't like Okay Kittle, I'm gonna eat you, just catch
the ball, right.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
But there's also great coaches like coach Kerr, who has
a reputation for talking to the players in a certain way,
not in an aggressive, yelling way. And look at how
well the Warriors have done. He doesn't approach them in
a mean way like I've seen coach Kerr lose his
I mean he does, but he doesn't coach that way.
He talks to them and tries to figure out the problems.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
What do you think one eight sixty six nine hundred
one three seven. You can always tap the red microphone
on our free iHeartRadio app to jump in and join
the great debate.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Is it cool? For coaches to yell at their players.

Speaker 5 (08:40):
Maybe because I'm a Navy veteran, I'm used to like, hey, yeah,
boot camp mentality. You're like, hey, listen up, because if
you're not listening up, you could get someone hurt. But
I'm also not an athlete, so that far tap the
red microphone on our free iHeart Radio app, or you
can always call back to.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
The Great Debate Classic Kids one oh three point seven.

Speaker 5 (09:07):
Is a sports coach, especially for kids, yelling at their
players a love language or is it traumatizing kids. There's
a video that's going viral where a coach is losing
it on his football player.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Have a seat, big dumb.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
You just like the three series in a row outside Becker,
and you're an inside Becker.

Speaker 9 (09:25):
You gotta have some.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
Type with wellness sign understand the line, the line right?
You want to stand that listr. That'sn't missing practice, that's
not being there when I need you.

Speaker 5 (09:34):
What do you think is the question for this morning's
Great Debate.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
Angel I love.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
Sure you have to do something like that, but not
traumatize them, because.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
Sometimes stroken words are better, but sometimes.

Speaker 7 (09:56):
You really have to yell at them, rile them up
a little bit. Yeah, it is. By definition, it's.

Speaker 5 (10:03):
Bad exactly, all right, Thank you so much, Angelie. Later, Tony,
thanks for checking in for this morning's great debate.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
What do you think about coaches yelling at kids?

Speaker 10 (10:17):
Well, you guys mentioned you know, professional coaches like per
and Shanahan for the Niners, and yeah, it all looks
good in front of the image of them being coaches.
But when you're in the locker room, I'm sure he
gets it. I'm sure he gets in that because they're professionals.
College coaches do the same thing. I really think it
depends on the on the culture of the sport. We've

(10:40):
all seen high school coaches grab a kid by a
helmad and get into them because, you know what, they
expect a little bit more from them. Yeah, and it's okay.
They know what that kid is capable of, and they
know how to massage it, how to make it work,
and trying to get the best the most out of it.
You know, there was a famous coach that was it
was Bob Knight that was at the end of Indiana

(11:01):
and for basketball, and everybody hated them, but you knew
that if you played for Bobby Knight at the end
of your career. You knew exactly what it took to
be a.

Speaker 5 (11:11):
Winner one hundred percent. That dude is legendary. So yes, indeed,
thank you so much, Tony. I will note that vote
appreciate you joining in. What do you think is it
cool for coaches to yell at players, especially kids? One
eight sixty six, nine hundred and one three seven. You
can always call and jump in or join the fun
by tapping the red microphone on our free iHeartRadio app

(11:34):
to get in on this morning's Great debate.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
Hear from your next Christie Live. Is a coach yelling
at kids traumatizing? Or is it tough? Love a love.

Speaker 5 (11:49):
Language and kids should just suck it up? That's the
question for this morning's Great Debate. You can always jump
in every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It starts around eight thirty.
Or nesto, what's up?

Speaker 7 (11:59):
Go ahead, raise your voice, but no name calling. And
after you raise your voice, follow up with some encouragement
and pat him on the back and tell him do better.

Speaker 5 (12:08):
That's all so happy medium, I like that absolutely, thanks
for jumping in and joining the fun.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Or nest though, good morning, Chris is a coach yelling
at kids? Tough love for traumatizing.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
I think it's a little bit traumatizing because the kids
only get out there to have fun, you know, and
the coach he's like making it like he's a professional.
So you figure the kid will like go home and say,
you know what, I don't want to play anymore. I'm done,
you know, I quit.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
Okay, so you're not here for the yelling. I will
note the vote. Thank you very much. Joe. What are
your thoughts for this morning's great debate.

Speaker 7 (12:42):
I don't really agree with it when they're just kids.
I mean, you're supposed to be teaching them, and I know,
like my high school coach, you know, he was more
of a motivator than you know, a yeller. You're going
to get through to a child if you're actually trying
to have a conversation with him and try to motivate them.
Compared to this yelling this out.

Speaker 5 (13:00):
The other sounds good. I will note that vote. Got
time for one more talkback here, Good.

Speaker 8 (13:05):
Morning, Christine. I think, well, it's a learning process for kids,
maybe not yelling at them because and at which point
it would be the coach's fault for not properly training
them not to be yelled at.

Speaker 5 (13:18):
All right, thank you all so much for jumping in.
Do the Great Debate every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, started
around eight thirty. If you ever want to join the fun,
so producer Karina. When it comes to coaches.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Yelling at kids, is it a love language or is
it traumatizing?

Speaker 4 (13:35):
The majority of people said, don't yell at the kids.
If you're gonna yell at them, try to give them
something positive after the fact.

Speaker 5 (13:42):
All right, well, thank you so much for jumping in.
Couldn't do the Great Debate without you. Always appreciate you
joining the fun Back to the music. In thirty second bye.
