Allen was a disappointing night on Tuesday against Anaheim, a
six to four loss by the Kracket. They were looking
for a major response against the San Jose Sharks on Thursday.
Philip Grubauer had been sent down to the American Hockey
League on Wednesday, so coming in against the Sharks on Thursday,
emotions were high and the Kraken responded in a big way.

Yeah.

I think we talked about this a little bit. The
Kracket needed a decisive win and that's what they got
Thursday night. And you weren't sure how the emotions were
gonna be after that Grubauer event. And it can go
a bunch of different ways, but it seems like the
team could have internalized a little bit and brought it
out in their game right from the drop of the park.

Chandler Stevenson leading all plays with a goal and two helpers.
It was a one goal, one assists night for both
Ellie Tolbinen and Oliver biorch Strand and Brandon Montor getting
on the score sheet with a pair of goals as well.
The offense for Seattle has come alive here in recent games.
The Kraken over their last eleven games are averaging over
three and a half goals for per game. They were

averaging two point eight three through their first.

Yeah, a handful of players that are on either point
streaks goal streaks are both over the last handful of games,
which it's great to see. It's not necessarily the top
line for Seattle, so it's happening deeper into the roster
as well, which is a big reason for the success
they've been having. On the other side of the red line.

This is a Calgary Flames team that lost at home
last night to Detroit by a three to one score.
It's the sixth time in their last sixteen games they've
scored one or zero goals in a game. They're one
to three to zero in their last fourteen after going
six to two to zero in their eight previous games.
They right now are one point up on that second
and final wildcard spot in front of the Vancouver Canucks.

Cracking are eight points back. A win here tonight you
get six points back. You've got Detroit Tuesday, Toronto on Thursday,
and then in Calgary next Saturday. A lot has to happen,
but through the Calgary Flames, you want to bounce back
in a big way from a disappointing loss Haunhome Eyes
last night.

I was looking at the schedule today and the Kracking
have twelve games against divisional opponents here between now and
the end of the season, and three against this Calgary team.

it's gonna be like a four point game.

Ahl Coachell eventley before Thursday. So the Crack and now

one and one on this home stand, and when you
get into the stretch of nine games at home in
eleven overall before the Four Nations break their record at
four and three. All four wins they have scored four
goals or more. And here's L. E. Tolbinan who said
the Kraken felt dialed in and said it's a kind
of blueprint they need with less than thirty games left.

Yeah, I feel like that was that was the way
we should play every night and have fled. We were
ready from the start. I feel like having prepared the
confidence and I thought, we just helped each other on
the ice. I feel like that's the one thing that

So, as we said, this sets the potential big game
as far as the playoff conversation down the road. The
Krack and have three home games left until the Four
Nations break, so this one a potential four point swing

the Flames recently making a four player trade with Philadelphia

a serious move for their ambitions here in this race
as well. The Krack and They'll got the best of
the Flames first time out two to one overtime win.
Way back in October, Joey Decord had to be nearly
air tight to beat Dan Pladar. He had twenty one saves.
Jordan Everly, who's not here and is injured, had the

In six points back of the cut line here with
twenty eight games left to cracking story lines. First off,
begin with Ellie Toulvenin on a run of a pretty
nine deal time four game goals scoring streak. If he
scores this evening, it will make five in a row,
which will be the longest goal streak of his NHL career.
If this game heats up in the physical front, he
can make a big impact. He leads the cracking and

San Jose as well on Thursday, and looking like that,
he'll be right back on the line with Chandler Stevenson
and Oliver new Yorks ran here with that, even though
they've been recently put together, Tolvenin said he sees plenty

Last game we played really well well We've created a

you get a couple of goals, you feel more confident

So I feel like that's a big part right now.

The guy that Tolbnan played with recently, Chandler Stevenson. He's
our second story line and his offensive presence. And since
a holiday break ended, guess who's tied for the team
lead and points is Chandler Stephenson fifteen points in seventeen games.
Nobody has as many except Jayden Schwartz, and on Thursday
he had three points, one shy of his career high,

and he's been dialed against the Flames recently in his
career five points last six meetings. Final story line, the
first period and potential impat the Kracken facing a Flames
team coming up off overnight travel and a home game
they lost last night to Detroit. The crack And have
been pretty much better at this lately. Last nine games,
six times they've scored first, seven times they have led

or been tied after the first period, So we'll see
if the Cracking can get a jump on that early
first period. They'll kind of a toss up numbers wise,
the Krack and minus fourteen goal differential thirtieth in the league,
Calgary not that much better minus thirteen. That's twenty nine

you recall about five months ago when folks said they're
not making the playoffs. Well, the Flames have effectively told
them think again. They're right now fighting tooth and nail
for that final wild card spot, playing at over a

the right direction, but it starts with a good effort
here this evening. What do they need to do to
get it done tonight.

Well, I wrote this first one down during the first
period last game, and that is push from puck drop.
Last game, Seattle had a great start in that win
where they pushed right from puck drop. They came out
of the game hard and then fast playing and speed,
physicality push him from the for that first goal of
the game. Chandler Stevens ultimately got that first goal four
minutes in and it was after six straight shifts of

that push style hockey. Don't wait until the third to
play that same kind of push hockey. Play that way
from the start. Secondly, take what you earn in the
last against Detroit last night. Calgary gave up a lot
of two on one to them. Detroit earned them with
stout defense and zone play and quick accurate passing to
exit that d zone with speed. In many cases, odd

man rushes were a result. Go earn those same kinds
of kinds of opportunities tonight and be sure to capitalize
on them, and then third, prepare to beat Pepper. Calgary
had thirty four shots on goal in their game last night.
They are a first mindset team, so you need to
be ready to block shots, take away shooting lanes, and
Joey d will need to be ready to stop thirty

against or less. There's no other way to say it.
This is a four point game. You grab two with
a win, and you take two from the team you're chasing.
If the Kraken can push from puck, drop, take what

I was talking to the radio guy today, Derek Wills,
and he said they did not get to their hotel

a six o'clock game.

You need to use that to your advantage here tonight.

Absolutely Again, you know you didn't necessarily earn it, but
take it, take it and go use it to your advantage.
And the way you do that is you jump on
this team quickly at the start. They might be a
little slow to get it into the game. If you
waste that and start picking your game up ten minutes
into the first you've missed that opportunity.
