exclusive presentation of the Emerald Quick Casino Krakeet Audio Network.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
After a statement win over San Jose on Thursday, the
Seattle Crackett kick off their final week before the four
Nations break with four crucial matchups on the schedule, including
two with major playoff implications. Thursday night, ten different cracket
found the scoresheet, including four with multipoint efforts on their
way to assists to win over the Starts and Tonight,

(00:49):
the Kracket welcome in the Calgary Flames for the first
of two meetings this week with a chance to cut
their standings deficit the six points against a team who
has lost three of their last four coming in including
a three to one decision last night on Whole.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
Nights to Detroit.

Speaker 3 (01:05):

Speaker 4 (01:19):
Course night Joe Chill.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
Allen was a disappointing night on Tuesday against Anaheim, a
six to four loss by the Kracket. They were looking
for a major response against the San Jose Sharks on Thursday.
Philip Grubauer had been sent down to the American Hockey
League on Wednesday, so coming in against the Sharks on Thursday,
emotions were high and the Kraken responded in a big way.

Speaker 5 (01:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
I think we talked about this a little bit. The
Kracket needed a decisive win and that's what they got
Thursday night. And you weren't sure how the emotions were
gonna be after that Grubauer event. And it can go
a bunch of different ways, but it seems like the
team could have internalized a little bit and brought it
out in their game right from the drop of the park.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Chandler Stevenson leading all plays with a goal and two helpers.
It was a one goal, one assists night for both
Ellie Tolbinen and Oliver biorch Strand and Brandon Montor getting
on the score sheet with a pair of goals as well.
The offense for Seattle has come alive here in recent games.
The Kraken over their last eleven games are averaging over
three and a half goals for per game. They were

(02:21):
averaging two point eight three through their first.

Speaker 5 (02:23):
Forty two contest this season.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
Yeah, a handful of players that are on either point
streaks goal streaks are both over the last handful of games,
which it's great to see. It's not necessarily the top
line for Seattle, so it's happening deeper into the roster
as well, which is a big reason for the success
they've been having. On the other side of the red line.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
This is a Calgary Flames team that lost at home
last night to Detroit by a three to one score.
It's the sixth time in their last sixteen games they've
scored one or zero goals in a game. They're one
to three to zero in their last fourteen after going
six to two to zero in their eight previous games.
They right now are one point up on that second
and final wildcard spot in front of the Vancouver Canucks.

(03:03):
Cracking are eight points back. A win here tonight you
get six points back. You've got Detroit Tuesday, Toronto on Thursday,
and then in Calgary next Saturday. A lot has to happen,
but through the Calgary Flames, you want to bounce back
in a big way from a disappointing loss Haunhome Eyes
last night.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
I was looking at the schedule today and the Kracking
have twelve games against divisional opponents here between now and
the end of the season, and three against this Calgary team.
The first of those three started night, another one next weekend,
and I think the third ones in March. So these
Calgary games, this team that you're chasing for that wildcard spot,
it's gonna be like a four point game.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
This is the seventh back to back situation of the
season for the Calgary Flames. They are one of five
and zero in game twos of back to back. Dan
Vladar has started each one of those games. He is
in tonight and against the Crack at all time. In
seven games, he's five to one and one with a
two six to seven goals against in an eight to
ninety nine save percent. It should be a fun one

(03:57):
here tonight Cracking and Flames. They begin their final week
before the Four Nations break. Mike, that's the back of

about our community is why Hearts is proud to support

Calgary had twenty five, nineteen and seven fifty seven points.
They hold down the second and final wildcard spot. It's
a potential big one this evening ozby BETMGM. The line

(07:40):
with the Kraken at minus one sixty and the over
under is five and a half. Thursday against San Jose,
the Kraken took a bite out of the second period
and the Sharks sitting it.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
Across but Canadan airside. Brandon's going full Monty here tonight hits.

Speaker 8 (08:03):
Out five one cracking lead.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
His second goal of the second period without play.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
Starts with Tanner Stevenston up with a high slot, feeding
the puck down two, Jared mckinn, Jered mckinn sells the
one timer, feed it across to Montour, the Tour puts
it home.

Speaker 11 (08:21):
That summarize a big night in several areas. What to
call there if I ever go fits you in al Kiniski,
by the way, the Crack and cruising six to two
in their win over San Jose with a game tight
that won the Krack and ripping off four unanswered goals
in the second period. Random Montours scored twice, breaking out
of a twenty game goal scoring drought, and his second
goal on a five on three which effectively put the

(08:43):
game away. It was a timeout that's set up the goal,
so the right button cleverly was pushed for the Crack end.
They got ten skaters on the score sheet, thirteen points
total combined. Four players had multi point nights and all
in all, a resounding response for the Cracking after back
to back losses and seeing goaltender Philip Grubauer sent to
Ahl Coachell eventley before Thursday. So the Crack and now

(09:07):
one and one on this home stand, and when you
get into the stretch of nine games at home in
eleven overall before the Four Nations break their record at
four and three. All four wins they have scored four
goals or more. And here's L. E. Tolbinan who said
the Kraken felt dialed in and said it's a kind
of blueprint they need with less than thirty games left.

Speaker 12 (09:27):
Yeah, I feel like that was that was the way
we should play every night and have fled. We were
ready from the start. I feel like having prepared the
confidence and I thought, we just helped each other on
the ice. I feel like that's the one thing that
we have to keep doing that, you know, just help
each other out there, you know, work for each other.

Speaker 5 (09:45):
And I feel like that showed in that game.

Speaker 11 (09:47):
So, as we said, this sets the potential big game
as far as the playoff conversation down the road. The
Krack and have three home games left until the Four
Nations break, so this one a potential four point swing
game in the playoff. Conce Station Calgary last weld card
spot the Crack and see them again this Saturday. And
the Flames recently making a four player trade with Philadelphia

(10:08):
a serious move for their ambitions here in this race
as well. The Krack and They'll got the best of
the Flames first time out two to one overtime win.
Way back in October, Joey Decord had to be nearly
air tight to beat Dan Pladar. He had twenty one saves.
Jordan Everly, who's not here and is injured, had the
ot winners. So a winning regulation could put the krake

(10:29):
In six points back of the cut line here with
twenty eight games left to cracking story lines. First off,
begin with Ellie Toulvenin on a run of a pretty
nine deal time four game goals scoring streak. If he
scores this evening, it will make five in a row,
which will be the longest goal streak of his NHL career.
If this game heats up in the physical front, he
can make a big impact. He leads the cracking and

(10:50):
hits with one hundred and sixty and then four against
San Jose as well on Thursday, and looking like that,
he'll be right back on the line with Chandler Stevenson
and Oliver new Yorks ran here with that, even though
they've been recently put together, Tolvenin said he sees plenty
of qualities that make that line work together. Off the bat.

Speaker 12 (11:08):
Last game we played really well well We've created a
lot after Ross and you know it's something that you know,
you get a couple of goals, you feel more confident
and uh, you feel more more confident, you see more places.
So I feel like that's a big part right now.
You know, not fortun plays not much, but I feel
like there's I see more place right now.

Speaker 11 (11:29):
The guy that Tolbnan played with recently, Chandler Stevenson. He's
our second story line and his offensive presence. And since
a holiday break ended, guess who's tied for the team
lead and points is Chandler Stephenson fifteen points in seventeen games.
Nobody has as many except Jayden Schwartz, and on Thursday
he had three points, one shy of his career high,

(11:50):
and he's been dialed against the Flames recently in his
career five points last six meetings. Final story line, the
first period and potential impat the Kracken facing a Flames
team coming up off overnight travel and a home game
they lost last night to Detroit. The crack And have
been pretty much better at this lately. Last nine games,
six times they've scored first, seven times they have led

(12:11):
or been tied after the first period, So we'll see
if the Cracking can get a jump on that early
first period. They'll kind of a toss up numbers wise,
the Krack and minus fourteen goal differential thirtieth in the league,
Calgary not that much better minus thirteen. That's twenty nine
to the door. Certainly is open up here for a
good start this evening. Injury update courtesy zoom Care Beyond

Chill Mike Benton with you back at Climbing the Plagerina
and time now for a look at the Flames. And
you recall about five months ago when folks said they're
not making the playoffs. Well, the Flames have effectively told
them think again. They're right now fighting tooth and nail
for that final wild card spot, playing at over a
ninety point pace, but leading score Jonathan Huberto only had

(16:10):
thirty six points. He's got nineteen goals as well, and
their offense heading into today twenty eighth in the NHL
at two point six goals a game five on five goals,
just thirtieth at eighty two, and that led the Flames
to do something about it. GM Craig Conroy swung a
four player deal Thursday, with Philadelphia getting Morgan Frost and
Joel Thirty, both forwards. It cost the Flames Andre Cuzmenko

(16:33):
and Jacob Pelch plus two draft picks, and that puts
in Frost, who's had as high as nineteen goals two
years ago, Ferraby twice at twenty goals or more recently.
The Flames hit the skid three losses last four games,
and last night their three to one loss into the
Red Wings only source of offense courtesy Nozam Kadri. Despite that,
they kept Cam Talbot busier than Dustin Wolf. Talbot had

(16:57):
to make thirty three saves, Wolf had twenty two. Your
storylines here for Calgary first off first period energy in
a back to back, We said Calgary's first period issues
a few minutes ago include a minus thirteen goal differential
in period one. Today, is there seven back to back
and the Flames one in five? That's their record in
the second game of back to back. Secondly, they're special teams,

(17:20):
to be specific their penalty kill and it could be
in for a workout there next to last and average
penalty minutes per game in the league on the road
PK is last in the NHL, and they'd've given up
a power play goal in four of the last six
road games. However, despite that, head coach Ryan Hushko said
he's seeing the Flames game moving in the right direction
at a critical time, but also said urgency doesn't mean

(17:42):
playing with reckless abandon.

Speaker 5 (17:45):
A handful of our last games, I really like the
way we've played five on five. The result necessarily hasn't
been there like we would want to see it. But
you have to sense that your team recognizes the situation,
the time of the year, the fight that we're in
regards the standings, and you want to see them keep
ratching up that urgency. And urgency is not desperation, it's

(18:05):
totally different. I want to see the guys play with compose,
your confidence, but making sure that there's a real laser
focus to how they're going to approach the game today.

with the Calgary Flames here this week.

Speaker 8 (21:14):
They've got contests here.

Speaker 3 (21:15):
At home against Detroit's and Toronto on Thursday and Tuesday
in reverse order. Out for the Krack in a big
six to two win for Seattle over San Jose back
on Thursday, a statement win following a couple of disappointing
defeats in games prior to that. But if you're the Kraken,
you're now eight points back of Calgary. You win here

(21:36):
tonight although Calgary does have two games in hand, you
still get the win here tonight. For the moment, you
are six points back of them. All things trending in
the right direction, but it starts with a good effort
here this evening. What do they need to do to
get it done tonight.

Speaker 4 (21:52):
Well, I wrote this first one down during the first
period last game, and that is push from puck drop.
Last game, Seattle had a great start in that win
where they pushed right from puck drop. They came out
of the game hard and then fast playing and speed,
physicality push him from the for that first goal of
the game. Chandler Stevens ultimately got that first goal four
minutes in and it was after six straight shifts of

(22:15):
that push style hockey. Don't wait until the third to
play that same kind of push hockey. Play that way
from the start. Secondly, take what you earn in the
last against Detroit last night. Calgary gave up a lot
of two on one to them. Detroit earned them with
stout defense and zone play and quick accurate passing to
exit that d zone with speed. In many cases, odd

(22:35):
man rushes were a result. Go earn those same kinds
of kinds of opportunities tonight and be sure to capitalize
on them, and then third, prepare to beat Pepper. Calgary
had thirty four shots on goal in their game last night.
They are a first mindset team, so you need to
be ready to block shots, take away shooting lanes, and
Joey d will need to be ready to stop thirty

(22:57):
plus in an effort to keep it to two goals
against or less. There's no other way to say it.
This is a four point game. You grab two with
a win, and you take two from the team you're chasing.
If the Kraken can push from puck, drop, take what
they earn, and prepare to be peppered, they'll set themselves
up for a big move upwards in these specific divisional standings.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
Well, and anyone who listens to this broadcast who knows us,
knows that we've tried not to be alarmist people. I'm
ringing the bell all right, I am the tax time
on the town crier right now. These are You're in
must win territory, especially going into this break coming up.
Your mind cannot be on sunny beaches in my ties,

(23:37):
they have to be here. These next four games are
the biggest stretch of games I feel this season for
the Cracking, especially two against the Goagrey Flames. We're gonna
hear from Dan Miiles. But coming up in a second
something he said this morning about today's game number one,
you can't tiptoe into this game. But also Calgary played
last night. They were stuck in customs for about an hour.

(23:58):
I was talking to the radio guy today, Derek Wills,
and he said they did not get to their hotel
this morning until about three point thirty this morning for
a six o'clock game.

Speaker 8 (24:06):
You need to use that to your advantage here tonight.

Speaker 4 (24:09):
Absolutely Again, you know you didn't necessarily earn it, but
take it, take it and go use it to your advantage.
And the way you do that is you jump on
this team quickly at the start. They might be a
little slow to get it into the game. If you
waste that and start picking your game up ten minutes
into the first you've missed that opportunity.

Speaker 3 (24:25):
Dan Vladar going to start for the Calgary Flames. He
has feasted on some Klamari throughout his career. He's got
a five to one and one record on the Seattle
Cracking through seven games, two points sixty seven goals against
in an eight ninety nine save percentage. This is the
seventh back to back of the year for Calgary. He
is one in five in the first six. So for
Seattle you need to buck the recent trend against him

(24:48):
and continue.

Speaker 11 (24:48):
This for this season for him, Yeah, you absolutely do.

Speaker 4 (24:51):
And you know, the more that he plays well against
the cracking and obviously the more he plays well in
this building, the herder. These next three games against Calgary
gonna be if I'm Calgarham putting them in every game.
So take this opportunity to get into his space, create
chaos in front, and.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
