A young fan collapsed mid show during Katie Perry's nightly ritual,
bringing a few fans on stage to help her perform
the one that got away the fans name McKenna was
spotted in the very top corner of the Little Caesars Arena.
She had this blue, sparkly dress on, so Katy Perry
called her and a friend down to the floor level
to join her on stage, and once McKenna made it

(01:14):
on the stage, clearly was overcome with emotion fainted. Oh no,
as they were about to start the song, We're gonna play.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
A really special song.

Speaker 5 (01:23):
You know when they got away again.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
This is gonna be great reads.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
Almost when she hit the deck, you can hear the
moment that she fell over on stage. She was immediately
attended to by Katy Perry's stage crew, and Katie herself
knelt by her side. The crowd started chanting McKenna's name
and support.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
If I fainted in front of eighteen thousand people, I
would not want anybody knowing my name, much less sharing
my name.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
I imagine how scary to come to and Katie Perry's
just like hovering over you.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
I'd be like, where am I? What's happening? You hear
all everybody shaving your names? How do people know who
I am? Lenda got Strawberry? I will locally the forty
nine ers are set to take the field this weekend
for some pre season football. San Francisco will host the
Denver Broncos Saturday afternoon at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara,

(02:23):
and then next week the Niners head into Vegas for
a preseason match against the Raiders. We are still one
month out from the start of the NFL season, but
this is a great time to be alive. Football is
that Football's back.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
I went back home and stayed at my mom's house
over the weekend for my little sister's birthday. We had
a big brunch and so while my mom was cooking brunch,
we're all starving, I grabbed a Paca raman, yeah, and
I crushed it up and I put the season.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
In and I snacked on it.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
And everyone looked at me like I was crazy, Like
you you've never had dry ramen before, struggle meal dry ramen.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
I was thinking, like, what's so weird about that you
don't put water in your ramen? No, Well, sometimes that's horrific.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
But when I want a quick, little delicious snack, I
crunch up the noodle.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
What and then you put the seasoning in it and
you shake it. They're like chips.

Speaker 6 (03:24):
No, they're not.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Yes, they are. Now, look we all have struggle meals.
As you were talking about yours, I'm like, oh, I
got a great one. And there's something that nostalgic about
struggle meals. Right, No matter like how much money you get,
no matter how successful you are as an adult, there's
something that's something we always come back to. Yes, Like
for me, it's when I first learned how to make
those egg noodles, you know, just like a little like
you get a bag of them, a safe way, boil

(03:46):
them in water like a little pasta noodles. Yeah, yeah,
I would do that with some scrambled eggs. So I
put scrambled eggs on top of that and butter.

Speaker 6 (03:52):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
See me and you are the same. No, you're talking
about dry ramen with no hot water. Yeah, they're like chips.
I promise you. You can't be chick. Promise you. They're
just like chips. Okay, this is a safe space. You
can share your struggle meals with us. No, matter how
many people in the real world say it's gross, it's.

Speaker 6 (04:10):
Not just me.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
I know it's not.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Okay, it's a good delicacy, the full show, every afternoon,
whatever you want.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
It's Strawberry and Lizette on Sacramento's New Kiss one oh
seven point nine.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Trying to keep this a struggle meal safe space. But
struggle meal is so weird. It's not weird. It's I
eat dry rawmens. What about it? Dry ramen with the seasoning, Yes,
but no hot water in it. Noah, it's crunchy. They're
like chips. I told you, Okay, Uh, Struggle meals talkback
messages are coming in. No matter how successful you get

(04:46):
or how lavish your lifestyle, what do you like going
back to McDonald's.

Speaker 5 (04:51):
It's like a special nostalgic treat. Like whenever we'd go
on a road trip, we were allowed to go through
the McDonald's drive through. There's so many fancy breakfast sandwiches.
I still love my egg McMuffin in the morning. It's
so good.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
I could see people growing out of McDonald's and holding
onto that nostalgia.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
You know, I know she got money, huh, Because McDonald's
is a luxury in my house. We don't go to
McDonald's just because we can afford it.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
No, it's expensive now not cheap anymore. Thank you for
that talkback message. We have another one.

Speaker 5 (05:23):
I will never give a a baloney sandwich, even if
I am living in a penthouse in New York City.
A fried baloney sandwich is the best thing in the world.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
That's a struggle mil fried baloney sandbary sandwich.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
I ate a lot of those when I was pregnant.
There you go, not because I was struggling, but just
because it was good.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
Thank you for the talkback messages and for streaming the
Strawberry and Lazette show. I want to join the conversation.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Send Strawberry and Lazette a talkback message while you stream
the new Kiss When I was seven point nine on
the always free iHeartRadio apps.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
Once again, we want to encourage all of our listeners
to take some time and to thank a teacher.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
Yes, you can nominate your favorite teacher to win five
thousand dollars for them to use towards school supplies for
this upcoming school year. And we've gone quite a few
nominations in with a cute little no as to why
they are nominating this teacher.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
Who's gonna read this? You're we're both going through the
list of all yours. Yeah, you take one because I
have another one.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
Okay, So this one is for missus Guerta.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
What's that? Miss Squerra.

Speaker 4 (06:24):
She's proudly served her community for over a decade, love it,
building strong and lasting relationships with families through her work
as a passionate dual language pre k and kindergarten teacher,
which I absolutely love. She's a dedicated campus leader, she
has deep roots in the community, and she is a
cherished and respected educator. So missus Guerta has been nominated

(06:49):
for this five thousand dollars prize for her to use
for her classroom this school year.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
Does she have a walkie talkie though? Have you noticed
that when we do events on school campuses, the VIP
teachers are the ones with the walkie talkie? Simes? Yeah,
the teacher gets shot callers. I don't know if she
has a walkie talkie was not mentioned in her in
her little note, but you know we could ask. My
mom had a walkie talkie when she was a teacher. Congratulations,

(07:17):
she was one of those she was one of those
selected fields.

Speaker 1 (07:20):

Speaker 5 (07:40):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (07:40):
So last Thursday, search and rescue team was in the
middle of a training exercise out near a popular hiking
spot in British Columbia. Okay, reports came in concerning a
man yelling for help. Nine one one operators said two
hikers reported hearing quote repeated cries coming from a man,
so the rescue team that was already out there jumped

(08:02):
into action.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
They split into two groups and the search was on.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
They found the screaming man, who turned out to be
a solo camper, not in any trouble at all.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
He was in the middle of his sold out world.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
Tour, belting out his favorite nickelback hits for all the
trees and the animals in the sky and anyone else
who was listening, singing so bad that the nearby hikers
called nine one one.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
Who is that vocalist? They're obviously in distress and in trouble.
Somebody needs help.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
No, the sky was just performing for his sold out
a concert.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Well, hey, they say art is subjective, right do they?

Speaker 6 (08:40):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (08:41):
Very subjective? Who does that? Who does that?

Speaker 4 (08:44):
Maybe get in some singing lesson true Kiss one O

Speaker 4 (09:37):
Jesse Jay was hospitalized over the weekend following some breast
cancer surgery complications.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
Never miss Admitted with Strawberry and Lazette on Kiss one
oh seven point nine.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
Stream live every afternoon from three to seven on me
always free iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Always streaming on the Free iHeart App. It's Sacramento's new
Kiss one oh seven point nine. Strawberry and Lizette's giving
Hella headlines right now.

Speaker 4 (10:01):
Well, Jesse Jay had herself a little health scare over
the weekend, finding herself back in the hospital just six
weeks after undergoing breast cancer surgery. She updated her fans
on Instagram, saying the trip was definitely not expected or planned.
Apparently suffered from some sort of infection. Now, doctors initially
thought she had a blood clot in her lung because

(10:21):
of the symptoms she was having, but what they found
was an infection and fluid in her lungs, but the
cause is unclear. She ended up discharging herself and went home.
We're just so glad that you know she caught that
and is home recovering because an infection after surgeries, especially.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
In your lungs. Yeah, I'll take you out. Yeah that
sounds real bad. My headline to guest Robberry, well locally,
if you've ever taken your life in your own hands
crossing the I Street bridge. Good news construction is set
to begin next spring on a new bridge between Westsac
and downtown. Bad news is it should take around four

(10:58):
years to UH to finish, so we're gonna have to
keep playing chicken for the next few years. I hate
that bridge. It's over one hundred years old. I just
googled it. The Ice Stream Bridge was opened one hundred
and fourteen years ago, and that's when like we did,
like we didn't have these big trucks in these big carriages,

(11:19):
so there was room for everybody to go back and
forth on their horseback. It is the scariest bridge in
the world. Hate going over that bridge. I drive so slow.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
I know people behind me and everyone else who's used
to it probably gets mad at me.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
Yeah, but I don't cross that bridge every day. No,
I drive so slow over that thing and shout out
to the people who are brave enough to be pedestrians
or bicyclists on that bridge. You are no crazy.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Nope, the full show every afternoon, whenever you want.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
It's Strawberry and Lizette on Sacramento's New Kiss one oh
seven point nine.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
I feel I spoke this into existence. It's Sacramento's New
Kiss one oh seven point nine, Strawberry and Lazette in
the afternoon. Remember when TikTok was going to be banned
like a couple months ago, and then they said, hey,
that's gonna be banned every three weeks. Yes, and then
they saved it and they said we're gonna be banned again.
That's when I said, you know what they need to
bring back Vine? Vine was TikTok before TikTok?

Speaker 6 (12:16):
Yeah? Right.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
So Elon Musk over the weekend said that he found
the Vine database. He said, we recently found the Vine
video archives and we are working on restoring user access
so you could post them if you want. I thought
it had been deleted. Elon Musk is bringing back Vine.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
Okay, here's the thing. What I'm reading is that Vine
is not coming back. Vine itself isn't returning as its
own standalone app. What he's gonna do is bring back
the Vine experience through a new feature that is will
be on X.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
Hmmm. I don't like that version. It's gonna be called
like Grock Imagine or something within the X app. I
thought we could go back and watch videos like like that.
One was a quote all the time, John Classic, that's
a great vine. We all have favorite vines. Why why

(13:18):
wh WHA? I still say that now. My favorite one
was when that girl was at the Del Taco drive
through and it's supposed to a fresh avocado, but I
think some of the letters fell off of it. Get
to Del Taco. They got a new thing called for
Jo Free Shavaka du Fine was the greatest. Bring back

(13:41):
those six second video clips. Yes I was. You know,
I never was on Vine, but I know that it was.
It was tea.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
Streaming live Strawberry and Lazette every afternoon from three till seven.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
On Sacramento's new Kiss one O seven point nine and
Kiss one O seven point nine dot com.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
Try for your daily dose of good news. It's Strawberry
and Lazette with What's Good on Sacramento's New Kiss one
oh seven point nine. I love it when people give
back to their community. Sacramento native Jalen Wells, he's an
NBA rookie playing for the Memphis Grizzlies now. He took
some time this weekend to give back to the community,
and he hosted a youth camp for the first time

(14:23):
in his hometown at Sack High. Here's the NBA star himself.

Speaker 6 (14:28):
Yeah, it's great just to be able to come to
this community. You know, obviously I grew up around here,
grew up playing sack Hi, So it's cool just to
be able to come out here, you know, interact with
the kids and make them, help them learn a few things.
And yeah, I'm enjoying it.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
And how valuable is that if your child is an
athlete of whatever sport and they get a chance to
learn from a pre pro. Yeah, especially like a pro
who grew up on the same streets, in the same neighborhood,
going to the same store is them. Here's one of
the kids who was at the Jalen Wells basketball camp
the weekend.

Speaker 6 (14:58):
Probably a lot of fun. I know. Jane's just like
he went to the NBA and I watched him on
the NBA draft. I see who it was and oh,
he's a Sacramento legend, and I was like, yeah, I
know he And now being in this camp, I just
feel proud to see a Sacramento legend comes to a
Sacramento and play.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
Means a lot to give back to your community. Being
called a Sacramento legend. Yeah, like what an honor very much.
Thank you Jalen Wells for looking after our next generation.
And that's what's good. I want to join the conversation.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
Send Strawberry and Lazette a talkback message while you stream
the New Kiss. When I was seven point nine on
the always Free I heart rate frits.

Speaker 3 (15:34):
You're saying you are not supposed to do any research
on the person you're going out on a date with, Melissa.
When was the last time you went on a first date.
It's been seven years. How deep of a background check
did you do? How much research on these guys?

Speaker 4 (15:48):
I feel like a little bit so when you say
a little bit, what all did you do?

Speaker 3 (15:52):
Saw the name? Tried googling it? Did anything come up
from that? No?

Speaker 4 (15:56):
Man had like no imprint, no, no, no social media,
no arrest record, nothing right, no, nothing like that.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
But like a Facebook page. Now, when you're on his
Facebook page, are you clicking on his friends, his family?
Are you tracking down his ex on her Facebook page?

Speaker 5 (16:13):
I don't know tracking, but like definitely looking at friends
and stuff.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
Experts are saying a quick check to confirm you're not
getting catfished, that's okay. But when you start digging into
their past, when you start running background checks, when you
snoop on their ex's photos, all that turns you into
a red flag. On top of that, like, the whole
idea of dating someone is to get to know their personality.
And if you're doing all this research on the person,

(16:38):
you already have a preconceived notion of who you think
they are, just you don't match it.

Speaker 4 (16:42):
What better way to get to know someone's personality than
to see what they're posting on social media?

Speaker 3 (16:47):
Like, uh, do you want to find out after.

Speaker 4 (16:49):
You guys have been dating for six months and you're like, wow,
he goes hunting for rabbits and deer on the weekend.
I don't like that, you know, find it out first.
I don't think that's a red flag. I think this
article was created by a man who wants to keep
other men safe, Like No, girls don't deep dive into
the men.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
The ex CEO of Astronomer wrote this blog, hoping that.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
