Speaker 1 (00:00):
I can't wait to see what the attendance record was
over the past few days for all things WWE and
wrestle Mania related. Good morning, It's Joanna and Sean. And
I don't know if you knew this about me, Sean,
but I've always been a closeted WWE wrestling fan.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Really okay, that's fascinating. I never would have pegged you
for a wrestling fan. I was as a kid until
my brother and I got hurt wrestling one another and
we were banned from watching it. So that was kind
of is the end. It's kind of the end of
my wrestling fandom as a kid.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Yeah, I mean, obviously, I was like very loud and
proud fan when I was a tiny tot, and as
I've gotten older, I always like attending the events, but
being too pregnant right now, I wasn't able to attend
anything recently. But my first memory of ever coming to
Las Vegas was back in nineteen ninety three, and I'll
never forget it. I was living in New Jersey at

(00:54):
the time, and my dad came home from work and
he surprised my mom, my brother, and I with the
news that we were going to Las Vegas for the
first time, and we would be attending wrestle Mania nine
at Caesar's Palace.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
So that's cool. So your dad obviously he was he
a wrestling fan himself or just thought that something that
you would all enjoy going to.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
No, like that was our thing as a family. Like
you know, it's like you have the like tgif or
you watched that on Fridays and different like, but we
were like the family that like watched WWE wrestling and
grew up just loving wrestling, and so it was a
really big deal at the time. I'll never forget it.
We stayed at like the Excalibur, but we went over
and they held WrestleMania nine at Caesar's Palace, and it

(01:38):
was so iconic. It's one of those memories, like I
don't remember a lot in my life, but I remember
that moment our dad told us that, and I remember
that trip, and I would have really loved to have
gone to WrestleMania, you know recently. But thear ticket prices,
I think my dad probably bought them for like fifty
dollars a pop. They were like fifteen hundred dollars a
pop nowadays. So yeah, yeah, But.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
My first wrestling is one of the biggest things around
right now. It's bigger than it's ever been.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Yeah, and I know there's it's still going on now,
like through Tuesday, Like tonight, there's a Monday Night raw
a T Mobile Arena. That big convention over at the
Convention Center is still going on. So yeah, I just
had to bring that up this morning because it's one
of my first core Vegas memories. Very innocent, but it
was wrestling related, and so I thought it'd be fun
this morning to take some calls on your first Vegas
memory seven oh two, seven nine six, one oh six five.

(02:28):
I want to dive into years Sean in just a
little bit too, But I know we have people already
on hold, don't we.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Yeah, let's let's start with Julie here. Hey, Julie, good morning.
So do you have like a really great first memory
of being in Las Vegas before you lived here?

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Okay, I have a good one. My first Vegas trip.
It was a bachelorette party for one of my friends
and I'd never been to Vegas and I had never
been to a casino, and I was like, you know,
an adult, it was past time, and I was like, Okay,
I'll try. I go up to the first lot machine,
first pull win one hundred dollars immediately.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Wow that beginning, lest lose three hundred more. Yeah you
say that. Yeah, that's a short lived Usually you gotta
quit while you're ahead, That's what they always say.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Yeah, well I didn't do that.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Well that thrill, right, Even even your first memory of
walking into a casino for the first time is is
pretty memorable. And if you hit a little jackpot too, Yeah,
that's something you're never gonna forget.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
It's like uh oh yeah, but it's such a different thing,
like hidd in a candy store, just like lights and
sounds and all kinds of stuff. Do you remember what
casino you were walking into when you won that first
hundred dollars?

Speaker 4 (03:42):
We were at the lux store with the pyramid.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
I feel like like that end of the strip, like Excalibur,
luxtor I'm Gmgred, Like those are good first time casinos,
like kind of like ease you into the gambling world
a little bit.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
Yeah, and it's like it's a cheesy fun this love.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Right exactly, And now I live here. You couldn't get away?
How about that? The strip pulled you in.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
I'm stuck now.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Ah, very cool.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Well, thank you for sharing that memory Banks.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
This is Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean on Sonny
one oh six point five. I know everyone has a
different first Vegas core memory, and that's what we're taking
your calls on this morning. Seven oh two, seven nine six,
one oh six five. We want to hear about your
first Vegas memory. Mine goes back to nineteen ninety three.
I think I was like seven years old at the time,

(04:35):
and I came out here for WrestleMania nine at Caesar's Palace.
It is etched in my brain forever, and so I
love taking a little Vegas memory lane trip now. A
little bit ago, I asked you, Sean, about your first
Vegas memory. I know you're what eighteen months now here
as a Vegas local, but when was your first Vegas trip?

(04:56):
And like, do you have a cool memory associated with it?

Speaker 2 (04:58):
You know what? It's making me laugh because I know
it's second Ago. I told you I had never been
here before I got this job, but I have, and
I forgot because it was that wild of a trip.
So it was it was Labor Day weekend of twenty
fourteen and my wife and I we were just dating
at the time. We were living in Los Angeles, and
her cousin, on a whim, said, Hey, do you guys

(05:20):
want to go to Vegas for Labor Day weekend? Just
spur the moment. You can do that when you don't
have kids.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Right, So absolutely, and Labor Day weekends like a hot
weekend when you're young and fun and don't have kids.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Yeah, exactly. So I mean we said, sure, why not.
We hopped in the car, we took a road trip.
We stayed at the Link, which is obviously still around,
so it was great location, central to everything, room was affordable,
and we really just kind of like walked around casinos
and you know, took in all the sights and sounds,

(05:53):
and I think we didn't really do much gambling. The
funniest part is the minute we got here, we put
we put like twenty b on red on like a
roulette table, and we lost it, and we said, you
know what, let's not do that anymore until the day
we left. And then the day we were leaving, we
went to the penny slots at Caesar's Palace, and I

(06:14):
think we spent like twenty bucks on penny slots, but
we drank like sixty dollars worth of free drinks because
they were very generous with the drinks back in twenty fourteen.
And I was like, well, this is how you beat
the house. You gotta you have to drink more liquor
that you have to drink enough liquor that is worth
more than the money you're spending on the penny slots.
So that is my first ever Vegas memory was just
a quick jaunt for Labor Day weekend.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
All right, and ending it with penny slots, like it's
always gonna be a very memorable experience.

Speaker 5 (06:42):
I love that.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
I can't wait to hear about other first Vegas memories
for people seven oh two, seven nine, six, one sixty five.
If you want to share that, Emmy has been on
hold and waiting. Good morning, Emmy, so tell us about
your first Vegas memory.

Speaker 6 (06:56):
So I love lights and like all kinds of fancy flashing,
you know, like bing bing bing, meaning that'suf's really cool.
But I hate crowds. So it was a really big
deal for me to even get up the courage to say, okay,
let's go to Vegas in the first place. Okay, But
I love I love the entertainment. I love the shows,
I love the lights, all that stuff. So I was like,
let me just give it a whirl, and Eve what happened. Well,

(07:18):
I wound up going and got into a crowd situation
and was absolutely miserable. So eventually I kind of veered
from the group and wound up going to this really
weird karaoke bar where I wound up doing karaoke with
people I had never met before for the entire night.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
So hey, listen, there are a lot of great karaoke
bars here in town, and if you have a memorable experience,
like you always want to go back.

Speaker 6 (07:42):
Absolutely, And I can't even tell you how many times
were saying totally eclips of.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
The heart, this is really sorry. No, you're good, You're good.
I love it. This is really kind of striking a
chord with me because my brother just had its bachelor
party here back in December, and of all the things
we play at like big events and shows and stuff,
the most memorable night we had was that this hole
in the wall karaoke bar downtown that it wasn't even

(08:07):
it was nothing big. It was a smoke filled dive,
and that was like the best night we had of
that bachelor party. So one hundred percent on board what
you're saying.

Speaker 6 (08:16):
Karaoke trumps trippers every time.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
Was your some total eclipse of the heart, Tushon.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
I can't hit those notes. Love it.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
Thanks for sharing that, Emmy and glad you are now
a Vegas resident hopefully continuing your karaoke.

Speaker 6 (08:33):
Yes, definitely I love.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
It, Sonny, Sonny, when I was explaining five, good morning
and happy Monday. Hopefully your Easter weekend was amazing. Your
WrestleMania weekend was amazing. Whatever theme it was for you,
hopefully it was amazing. So let's celebrate some little victories
this morning, a time where we take calls and we

(08:57):
celebrate those little victories that are going on in your life.
Maybe inspire somebody out there, give us a call it
seven oh two seven nine six one six five.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
My little victory was my daughter's birthday. Oh yes, yes,
we had just like a handful of people over from
her school. So I met some new moms. Okay, shout
out to uh Hanna and Lindsay and Julie and Nancy
and Kelsey and uh Desiree who I kept calling Teresa
for some reason. Do not mean any dads No, there's
no dads, just the moms that came over, so wow,

(09:27):
shout out to them.

Speaker 7 (09:29):
I would say, my little victory is I did not
consume more than two Cadbury cream eggs.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Normally I would take.

Speaker 7 (09:36):
Down at least eight Eastern weekend, but I feel like
two is a solid little victory to share this money.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
I like you, that's hard to do this time of years.
Just too. I'm proud of you myself.

Speaker 7 (09:45):
Back, Yeah, it was tough.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
Let's take a couple of calls. Here we got We'll
start with Brenda online. Here, Brenda, what's going on? What's
your what's your little victory today?

Speaker 3 (09:54):
Ah? This is really this is this is going to
make my whole week. I'm so excited.

Speaker 4 (09:58):
I have this cute little like very light blazer and
I put it on, and I reached into the pocket
and passed me. Left a gift card in that pocket,
so present me. It's gonna go shopping.

Speaker 5 (10:11):
It's awesome.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
Honestly, that's like the best little surprise ever.

Speaker 4 (10:17):
I know, I'd completely forgotten about it. I thought i'd
lost it, and look at me. I'm so good.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
Well, we love that for you. Well go have fun.
Get us something nice. All right, have a great day.

Speaker 6 (10:27):
Thank you.

Speaker 7 (10:28):
That's awesome. Seriously, that's such a good feeling. Let's take
some more little victory calls.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
I know Charlie has been on hold. Good morning, Charlie.

Speaker 7 (10:36):
What's that little victory you want to share?

Speaker 3 (10:39):
Hey? Good morning.

Speaker 5 (10:40):
So I've been dry since January first. I'm hitting four months, hey,
and I'm gonna go. I'm trying to go to a
whole year. And actually my birthday is December thirty first,
so I'm going to party it up.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
For my birthday, but I'll put till then. No drinking.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
Wow, that's so question for you. So how do you,
you know, avoid situations where you you might drink? What's
what's been like a good tip that's worked for you?

Speaker 5 (11:07):
As soon as I get to a place for food,
I just get a huge coup of soda and.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
Slowly sip it.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
Wow, that's a solid tip, Charlie. Thank you for sharing that,
and honestly, good job. Keep it up. We're rooting for you,
all right, man.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
Thanks, Yeah, you got it, Charlie. He speaking of little victories.
Good stuff this morning? Right, A golden night's up one
nothing after last night? I love that too good stuff.
Wake up with Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean. I'm
sunny one was six point five Sunny Mornings with Joanna
and Sean. On sunny one of six point five got
a sunny story of the day here. Now this starts

(11:42):
out I think Joanna as every parent's worst nightmare, but
ends with it incredibly happy ending.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Yeah, I feel like this can be made into a
movie one day. But yeah, you're right on that every
parent's worst fear is their child being separated from them,
especially at the young age of just two years old.
And that's what happened in Arizona late last week. So,
a two year old boy disappeared from his home in

(12:09):
Arizona and wandered off to the point where a full
on twenty six person search and rescue team was deployed
to find this two year old boy. Now, that team unsuccessful,
unfortunately to find that boy. But superheroes come in all
different shapes and sizes, don't they. And I guess I'm

(12:30):
at a fur level too. So we want to introduce
you to an Anatolian pure andie dog named Beuford. Buford
is six years old and is now hailed as a hero,
because Buford's owner said that one morning last week, he
goes outside and Beuford, you know, roam's the property, keeps

(12:50):
away coyotes and mountain lions from the property. He oversees
a ranch there, but in the distance, Buford came forward
with this two year old boy by his side.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
Absolutely remarkable, this kid seven miles apparently from his home.
And I mean we're talking about it was cold. It
was in the high forties. It was like seven thirty
in the morning when this guy saw Buford with this
little boy. And I mean just I mean, absolutely terrifying
as a parent, but I mean, thank god. I mean, look,

(13:21):
if Buford is keeping coyotes and mountain lions away from
the property, like the boy was in good hands or
a good pause I should say.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
I mean, it really is incredible. I can't imagine being
Buford's owner and you see, you know, Beuford just roaming
the property, expecting back at a certain time time every day.
But this time he's got a blonde, little two year
old boy with him, Like I'd be like, what just happened?
So the little boy was, of course disoriented and was
crying and was upset. But Beuford by his side the

(13:49):
entire time and absolutely is being held as a hero
because without Buford, who knows what would have happened to
that little boy.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
I know, I mean that the kid somehow got seven,
walked seven miles from his home. Beauford picked him up
about a mile away underneath a tree, and I guess
walked him back to the property. But that means like
that that kid tough ast two year old. Ever, is
what the the owner, this mister Dunton said about that boy,
And I gotta agree.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
Yes, absolutely, And they don't know, of course, if maybe
Beuford heard the boy crying or what. But they were
able to track the child's footprints for about a full
mile and of course Buford by his side the entire time.
So Sean and I have been gushing at how cute
and adorable Buford is absolutely the most perfect huggable dog.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
Yeah, big, big, handsome brute, that's.

Speaker 7 (14:39):
Where he is.
