Speaker 1 (00:03):
See Andy Evert show on the Ticket reacting to some
of the playoff games from this past weekend. By the way,
in the Oklahoma City Memphis game, the plus minus for
Desmond Vane was negative fifty one. So if he doesn't play,
then that's an even game, right, Yeah, pretty much.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
You could take the first quarter, in the fourth quarter,
take those out from the Oklahoma City Thunder, and then
we would have tie ball game.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
Yeah, eight to eight. Yeah, but if if wigh too
many ifs on all that.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
Yep, all right, let's talk about the East for a
little bit here. We'll actually let's get Lakers Minnesota out
of the way. I thought that this series would be
a really close one, but I never thought that the
Lakers would would lose the home games, and not in
the least until they got into a little bit further
into the playoffs. But the Lakers looked like they didn't
care to be there, and Minnesota took advantage of that,
(00:52):
and they also hit a bunch of shots from the outside.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
I know, Anthony.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
Edwards, this just fuels hre fire a little bit and
makes him feel like he bigger than he is. But
now Minnesota has a home court advantage in this series.
I still think the Lakers figure out a way to
bounce back. I think the Lakers are a little bit better.
But right now it's Minnesota, and if and the Lakers
are now in a must game situation to win Game two,
then you got to win four out of five if
(01:18):
you if you don't win in this next game in
game two.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Yeah, well, the only thing that I wasn't a fan
of with h with the the Timberwolves game was Anthony
Edwards after he made I forgot what three it was,
but towards the end of the game when he made
a three and Luca's right there next to him and
he's doing this like Spider Man, I'm shooting my web
at you kind of a thing because to indicate that
he made it three, I'm just sitting there and I'm like, dude,
(01:44):
shaking my head. I'm like, of all people, you don't
want to piss off and don't want to poke.
Speaker 4 (01:50):
That's that's the number one guy.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
Because he's gonna Edwards isn't afraid to do that. But
but just fine, but Lucas gonna take it personally and
then he's just gonna take over a game. And it
wouldn't surprise me if the Lakers beat Minnesota worse than
Minnesota beat them the other night in the end game two.
But that's what I would expect for Luca and Lebron
to get to accumulation of about eighty points and go
(02:14):
on from there. In the West or in the East,
Cleveland weather the in storm with Miami, I think Miami
is really close to being a really good team in
the future. If they can keep their core guys and
add a piece, then I think that they're going to
be in really good shape next year. I like Tyler Hero,
I like out of Ao. I like Terry Rogier at
(02:38):
the point guard. Yeah, and he was a DMP. Yeah,
I know he didn't play, but I like you. I
like his game. But he's got a salary that's easily tradable.
There's somebody else on that roster that had a pretty
good game.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Remind me, well, Tyler Hero had twenty one, Bam Outabayo
had twenty four, Andrew Wiggins at fourteen.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
I see. I think Andrew.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
A lot of people don't like Andrew Wiggins, but I
always have.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
He's a serviceable He's a serviceable player.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
He's inconsistent, is the problem.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
Yes, he is not a number one or number two.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
He he fits perfectly if he's your third or fourth option.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
That's what he has to be, and that's what he
is in that lineup.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
That's why he worked well at Golden That's why he
said he's third or fourth in that line In that
one too.
Speaker 4 (03:25):
Are you thinking you know Duncan Robinson is.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Ann That's what I'm thinking about. Yeah, he didn't have
a great game. He only had eight points.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
The other one that I just really that I noticed
recently that I was actually really big on is Hima
Hockey Jim Hawks junior only played one minute, and I
don't get it. I don't know what's going on there.
I don't know if they just if he has an
injury or anything like that. But I was a really
big Hi may Hawk as junior fan last year and
(03:55):
even going into this year.
Speaker 4 (03:57):
Uh. But I do agree with you.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
The Miami Heat do have a decent team set up there,
but they do need a bona fide star.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
The other one I'm thinking about is Davion Mitchell. He
had eighteen you played thirty four minutes.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
You know where he came from, Sacramento. Another one of
those ones where it's like, you know, smack your head.
Could have had a V eight moment with Sacramento, all
all the players that Sacramento just ships up.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
Man Well.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
The thing I liked about Davion Mitchell for a good
portion of the game, he was guarding Donovan Mitchell. Yeah,
and he didn't hold back. He didn't he didn't care.
He was like, I know I'm guarding a better player
than me, but I'm going to.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
Go play hard.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
If you look at the heat roster, they're they're kind
of if they were to get Kevin Durant, and they could,
if they could get Devin Durant, Kevin Durant without giving
up Adibayo, our hero and Robinson, I would like for
them to keep those three. Is Rochier hurt or are
they just holding him out for other reasons that.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
I don't know. He might just be I don't know
if they just maybe.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
He's got an ankle issue. He does have an ankle issues.
I like him at I think he's a good player.
I think he's an underrated player. But he's got a
very tradable salary and if you can throw that into
the mix for a Kevin Durant deal, you need about
fifty million dollars to match what Kevin Durant does. And
I think Rose years in the twenty twenty three million
range or is a little bit low.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
Is it's twenty four point five this year, it jumps
up to twenty six point six.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
Now, yeah, so that's a good That's how you're halfway
there in a trade. And if the Heat can get
Kevin Durant, I think they move into the Cavaliers in
Celtics territory and move over Milwaukee in New York. If
they can do that, they're they're the third or they're
the third best team or better in the East if
they can get if they can get the Durant s weepsakes,
(05:51):
Kevin Durant's getting a little bit long in tooth here,
so he's only got a little bit more time to play, uh,
probably two or three more years. But if the Heat
want to make one more playoff push, i'd go. I'd
make that trade.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
The only unfortunate thing is they are thirty eight million
dollars over the salary cap right now.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Well you can, but you can still trade the salary
for salary, can't you.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
Yeah, you could. You could do just for for.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
Listen, if you're an owner and you're not willing to
play and you're not willing to pay first Apron luxury tax,
quit just get out of the game.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
The cap is there for you to have a baseline
of what you're going to pay. But if you've got
to if you're looking to win a championship and you're
afraid to pay the first Apron tax, then you're not
really serious about a championship. I understand you don't want
to pay the second Apron tax because that's pretty substantial,
and if your team doesn't work out and you don't win,
then then then that's pretty cost prohibitive because you need
(06:47):
those extra playoff games in order to be able to
recoup the money that you're going to have to pay
in tax. And the more playoff games you can get,
the better you want to go as deep as you can.
But if if you're not going to go after Kevin
Durant and your only hope is to get under the
original cap, then you're not really interested in winning. If
going over the second Apron is a problem, I totally
(07:10):
understand that. But you've got to be able to be
able to spend up to the first Apron.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
Yeah, well, we'll see what happens. I mean, just for giggles,
the two players I could see possibly in that Kevin
Durant trade, like you mentioned Terry Rogier, and then maybe
in Andrew Wiggins. That gets you to about forty five
forty four million dollars. So you might have to throw
somebody else in there, a bunch of draft picks because
again I think the one thing with Phoenix.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
You have to draft another guard.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Yeah, you would have to draft another guard. But the
one thing as far as with drafting that Phoenix might
be looking at that could interest them as well, We'll
give you a bunch of draft picks because I believe
it's not until twenty I want to say either twenty nine,
thirty or thirty one. Phoenix does not own it's draft
(07:58):
picks at least the first round for a while for
a while.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
So if you could finake they need to keep Duncan
Robinson at a Bayou in a Hero.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
Well, BAM's not.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
Going anywhere because Bam signed that contract this last season.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
But anybody can be traded at any time. Luca can
be traded, so can Bam. Now, I don't think the
heater as stupid as the ownership group in Dallas.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
But anyway, that's that's, that's that.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
But they've got the marketing, the makings of a really
good franchise, and pat Riley and Eric Spostra are close
to being another. They're not going to win this series.
Cleveland's going to win it in four or five, but
there's a good chance that they're going to be back
around in the future. And if they had Jimmy Butler
on this team, I would give him a fighting chance.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
But he does.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
He's not happy playing for fifty million. He needs sixty
on the other coast to be happy. So have his joy,
to be joyful.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
Exactly.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
All right, it's time for that's baseball. We'll do that next.
It's the Andy Everage Show.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
On the ticket
