ninety three Morning Show. This isn't exactly a local story,
but it kind of is because we have Gerber, or
like the birthplace of Gerber. And this was a guy
who came across a thirty year old Gerber coupon that

was gifted to him when he was a newborn. The coupon,
which gave a dollar off any Gerber item, had no
expiration date, so he and his fiance have had a baby.
He took this coupon from when he was a baby
into Target and picked out a pair of Gerber socks.
The staff at Target were initially confused by the thirty

year old coupon because it didn't have a barcode they
could scan, but a manager was eventually called in and
honored the coupon.

Oh that's nice.

They shared the story on social media and it went
absolutely viral, racking up seventeen million views two point four
million likes. That is very viral, and someone from Gerber
noticed the video. They responded with a generous offer. In
a follow up viral video, a Gerber spokesperson praised them
for using a little piece of our history and offered

the couple a year's supply of baby food and wardrobe
of baby clothes.

Holy cow.

They shared that later the fun interaction online with mom
and Dad thirty years later. They loved that the coupon
had sparked such a viral moment. Fortunately, they didn't have
to give up the coupon. They actually sent him a
recreation of the original card in a care package that

they sent the new parents, alongside the cut up one
that he had used at Target.

This is such an amazing story. When you first started
talking about the story and you talked about the coupon,
I just imagine, because it didn't have a barcode or anything.
In my head, I just pictured like a coupon that
says this coupon is good for free food, like somebody wrote,
you know what I mean? I wrote it up. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.

Very cool story and incentive to use those old coupons,
I guess. And so awesome that Gerber got wind of
this and then said we're gonna take it up a notch. Yeah,
