Speaker 1 (00:05):
This is the Hub on Hollywood and iHeartRadio podcast. I'm
your co host James Rojas.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
And I'm Jamie Blanco.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
On this week's episode, Zendia and Tom Holland have a
public freak out in the streets of Boston. Hot on
tape or was it? We will dig into that. We
have more live adaptation films on the way and they
don't look terrible. Pinch me, pinch me, this can't be real.
(00:33):
A review of the musty horror thriller Heretic starring Hugh Grant,
and of course movie Trivia. But Jamie, we had to
talk about this first. How you are now officially best
friends with the lead star of One Piece?
Speaker 3 (00:49):
Yeah, right, Jamie, that is exactly correct. And hang on, James,
I I need to get in character here for this
bit right there, So we're putting on the one Piece hat,
the Loofy hat here. Yes, it is official. In Yaki,
Godoy and I are besties. So here's the thing about
in Yaki. He is so much embodies the true heart
(01:15):
of Loofy, and that that that character in One Piece
such a happy goofy guy.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Uh and really great. I don't know. I couldn't tell
you that, James.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
I'm not gonna go any further into that, but listen,
he is really great with his fans, like really really
great with his fans. Uh So this month in Yaki
on his social media has declared the month of November
to be manate Month because he loves manatees.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
They are very godi nioso.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
You know, they love that, they love people, and they're
just you know, wonderful animals, beautiful sea cows. Right and
throughout the month he's having little fan activity, and earlier
this week was Manatee Art Day, and I'm like, I'm
a little.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Bit of an artist, James, I dabble right, you know
what I mean. My kids, my kids and I have.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
Been having so much fun already with manate Month, Like
it's just an easy thing to do with kids. It
was a great idea that I quickly adopted. We've flown
pictures of manatees on a drone, We've put up pictures
of manatees on our wall, and we've done silly facts
and silly games. But I got in on this Manatee
Art Day and I did.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
One of those was a quick motion or time lapse.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
I did, like a time lapse drawing of me drawing
a loofy manatee that was fighting against crocodile, who is
a character in One Piece, who is gonna be in
season two of One Piece.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
So that's very exciting.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
And it's basically a little manatee that stretches out his
little fin and boops the crocodile on the nose and
he calls out his attack is gum gum, nope, boop snoot.
And that was really popular and in Yaki saw it,
liked it and shared it on his Instagram stories, along
(03:20):
with a bunch of other artworks.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
That from from other fans.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
So, I mean, I was just so honored, so happy that,
you know, I could bring a smile to the face
of one of my favorite celebrities who was already you know,
contributing to the joy of so many other people. So
it's just a cycle of love, James. It just comes
full circle, full circle of love.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
It was a really wonderful experience.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Double take. Like when you when you saw that alert
that that he liked it, not only liked it, but
then shared it, did you have to like pinch yourself, like,
this is happening. This is happening people.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
I gotta tell you, I just mild man.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
I smiled from ear to ear and I'm like, hell yeah,
because it was a good video.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
And it was a good drawing. And then that, you know,
that's when I saw like he liked it. He liked it.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
I'm like, oh god, that's that's just the best. And
then he shared it and then I kind of lost it.
I was like alone in my car in the marking,
I like going nuts in the car and I had
to like do a phone call like immediately, like right
at the exact same time, and I'm like telling the person,
I'm like, bear with me right now. I'm like I'm
(04:31):
a psychopath right now. And as I'm talking to this person,
because it was like a tell, it was like an
appointment on the phone.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
Like thousands of views.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
That reel got thousands and thousands of views within you know,
seconds of it getting posted, and the final tally James
for the twenty four hours that it was on the
Instagram stories in Yaki Getaway's Instagram stories, one hundred and
three thousand views.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Oh thank you.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
It's a uh, you know, a big appreciation to Inyakikadoi,
who continues to bring smiles and joy to the people. Uh,
not only One Piece fans, but just you know, everybody, everybody.
So I cannot wait for season two.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
When can we pencil him in Forests?
Speaker 3 (05:24):
Then we're working on that. We're working on that. Him
and Soolo, we've got to get both of them on
the Hub on Hollywood. I think you and I have
been trying to get Sholo cast as the next Zorro.
I'd love to see him in the next you know,
in One Piece as Lufy's brother Ace.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
So many things.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
So, I mean, we'd love to talk to both of
these guys. We're both you know, Hispanic, they're both Hispanic.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
We love movies, they love movies.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
Let's make it happen, guys, So it is it is
ment to be.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
So we're one step closer to that.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
So if you guys want to send him a message,
let's help get both in Yaki and Slo on the
Hob on Hollywood.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
That would be the best episode ever.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
Yeah, yeah, spread the love, spread the word. And you
know again, we're on the social media. We are on
TikTok at houlb on Hollywood, Instagram, at Hob on Hollywood
Facebook as well. I've recently joined Blue Sky Jamie, have
you heard about Blue Sky? It's like the alternative to
like threads and x or Twitter.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Yeah, I'm too old. I don't know. Is this a new.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
Social media it's a new thing. People are jumping ship
from from Twitter to blue Sky just because apparently it's
much more joyous and less positive controversial space. I think.
So I'm on there too, So go ahead and follow
me on Blue Sky. Maybe Jamie will be creating an
the count Down the Road, but yet another account that
you can follow us on. But we did tag Solo
(06:58):
and Yaki, and so if you are watching this or
listening to this, either send the last episode or this episode,
tag them and let them know that we really want
to get them on the hub on Hollywood because we
want we have ideas for their career. We won't destrate
them to bloom some more.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
We could be their agents.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
We can be their agents. We can be their agents. Absolutely. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
So we a lot of love being sent that in
that direction. But Jamie, yes, the opposite of a love, Oh,
would say it's hate? Would you say it's anger? Would
you say it's a public freak out in the streets
of Boston and Zendaia and Tom Holland are right in
(07:40):
the middle of this. Would you believe, Oh.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
My god, no I would so, I will.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
I will say it's not so because it is not okay.
You know how social media giveth and social media take
it away. You know, we had this wonderful interaction with
the Yaki, but at the same time, on TikTok in particular,
right now, people try to start shit, James, They try
to start rumors, they try to run relationships social media
(08:08):
and they I know, right, I know, no way, no,
But you cannot come for the the true love that
is Zendia and Tom Holland. As you know, because you've
been watching the hob on Hollywood, as we've told you here,
Zendia is in town filming a movie called The Drama
with Robert Pattinson as her co star, and they've been
(08:31):
out and about in the streets of Boston, which has
been very exciting. But one of these scenes that they
were filming, James, was a shot of Zendeia losing her mind,
losing her shit. She was screaming, she was kicking. Robert
Pattinson's holding her back and she kicks her legs in
the air and someone on TikTok got a video of
(08:54):
this right and put on top Zendeia freaking out after
she found out that Tom Holland had cheated on her
with Sabrina Carpenter's.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
Sabrina Carpenter's dating Barry Kogan. So many hearts are being
broken right now.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
Oh my goodness. I can't believe it because it's not true, people.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
No true, not true.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
Talk news, Talk news exactly. So, I mean, you can see,
you can see the boom mic operator in the background.
You can see one of the assistant directors in the
in the background. This is obviously a scene from the
drama that is filming now in Boston. People trying to
stir up real life drama on the mean streets of
(09:41):
the internet.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
Yeah, let me please, please give me some hope for
humanity and hope for mankind. That in the comments, people
were calling this out and just saying this is not
true and we're not buying into this, this hoax, this hoax.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
Well that's why, that's why we're to set the record straight,
because people don't. You gotta you gotta come on, people,
you gotta check your facts, y'all look into this a
little bit more than that.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
But it's so easy to fool people.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
People just take everything at face value. Don't do it, Okay, listen,
Zendia and Tom. That's that's a match made in heaven.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
And on the silver screen.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
James so believe in their love and also believe in
an amazing new project that we are gonna see both
of them in together.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
Yeah. So we're just coming down the pipeline that the
next Christopher Nolan movie. Uh don't know what it's about.
I mean, I think I have a hints, which I'll
talk about in a second, But the next Christopher Nolan
movie will be starring none other than Zendia and Tom Holland.
To give us no bad blood between these two. They're
gonna be on screen together, and I don't know what
(10:53):
their characters are gonna be. I have a theory though.
I heard the rumors of what this movie may be.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
No, No, none at all.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
So I've the smash hit off of Christopher Nolan's last movie.
People are theorizing that this is gonna be Oppenheimer two,
bigger and badder.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
Stop. Look, I'm gullible, James, but even I have a limit.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
Okay, how hilarious would that be? They had Oppenheimer two,
there's like a Barbie two, and they tried recreating the
Barbenheimer experience once again with Tom Holland, Ends and Day
in this film. So I think that that would triple
the interest and the amount of people going to the movie.
(11:34):
But I don't know what the movie is about. But
next Christopher Nolan movie, a lot of actors are being
announced as joining the cast. We all know people love
to be in his movies. In Oppenheimer, literally everybody in
Hollywood is basically in that film, So who knows who's
gonna be popping up in this one, but really really
cool stuff.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
Yeah, I'm excited just because yeah, not only Zee, not
only Tom Holland, Matt Damon and Hathaway also in that cast.
More announcements to come. But Tom himself has said that
when the opportunity came in that it was the phone
call of a lifetime and he's going to be opposite
his you know, real life boo that it was reminiscent
(12:14):
of getting that call about Spider Man ten years ago.
So here's hoping that this is just going to be
another incredible, life altering cinema history, you know moment to
come that we can all look forward to shooting begins
early next year.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
How disappointed do you think Tom Holland would be if
once they go into like the meeting with Christopher Nolan, Christopher,
he's a system down and right front of the coffee
table he drops the script and it just says Spider Man.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
For I don't think Christopher Nolan would be directing that
it would.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
Be it would be hilarious.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
Hey. Tom admitted he doesn't know anything about this project
as well, which is part for the course because the
man can't keep a secret. But still that would be
funny that that that would be funny.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
But we speaking about us Boston casting h Let's lastly
hit on this topic about casting calls for the drama
again filming here in Boston is Zendia, Robert Pattinson. There
was a casting call uh notice announcement being sent out
there saying that they're looking for locals in the Boston
area with distinctive faces to be extras in background or
(13:30):
you know what, have you filling up a room or
a scene. And so if you have distinctive facial features
and you want to be uh near Zendeia and Robert Pattinson,
then this is a great casting call for you. Just
go online. I'm forgetting with the who the casting agent
is unless you know at the top of your head, Jamie,
but you can find that information online.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
Yes it's Sheryl and you. You're just going to want
to go onto Boston Casting dot com. Sign up, get
those notifications, let them know your availability, and be in
the movies. It seems like they're going to be here
for a little bit. There were rumors that the that
they would be filming also in New York and LA,
but for the foreseeable future, at least the next few weeks.
(14:12):
It looks like they're they're still in town, so hop
in on that opportunity. Uh. There's also one more opportunity
that just came down from Boston Casting a little bit ago, James,
where they're looking for sag extras. They're looking for union
actors who can ice skate for an upcoming Massachusetts tourism
(14:34):
holiday shoot. So that sounds like a fun one. I
can skate. I've definitely submitted for that one, So be
on the lookout for those two opportunities.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
Fantastic And you know who else is giving people opportunities
or at least letting them know about them? Is this
this person who's running a newsletter, right, Julia, tell me out?
Speaker 3 (14:57):
Julia Julia, Julia, Julia Agulia is her name online. We've
had her here Anaha on Hollywood.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
She runs an.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
Organization called The Friendly Filmmaker. We absolutely loved having her on.
And the wonderful thing about Friendly Filmmaker is that they
come out with a weekly newsletter that has all kinds
of other casting calls, crew calls, film festivals, lots of
(15:32):
local things to get your to sink your teeth into. Uh,
if you're someone who's trying to break into filmmaking on
the indie side, she is just a wonderful resource. The
Friendly Filmmaker is a wonderful resource. You'd want to go
onto the friendlyfilmmaker dot com, sign up for the newsletter,
(15:52):
check out all of the content that she has on there.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
I mean just so much.
Speaker 3 (15:59):
So many video was about like how to set up
a camera, how to do lighting, how to do this,
how to do that, you know, how to pursue your
dreams of being a filmmaker. We will have her back
on on Hollywood at some point soon, I'm sure, but
that that that's something that if that is your interest.
(16:19):
You should absolutely go ahead and sign up for that
as well. Let's see, for example, we've got here like
casting calls for low budget Here's one for a short
horror film called Dissection Day. Another listing for video editors
for films. So definitely just sending some more love to
(16:44):
our to our friend over at the Friendly Filmmaker.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
All Right, very very cool, very very interesting. Speaking about interesting,
this is something that I find interesting just for the
fact that I've I've harped about this. I ranted against
this next topic. But I'm talking about live action adaptations,
you know, remaking perfect films that were done in in
(17:11):
you know, cartoon animation format or or you know CG
format or what have you. And I think it's no surprise,
no secret that I am not a big fan of
many of these movies, including the live adaptation of The
Lion King. The Jungle Book was okay, I don't know
about Beauty and not beauting the Beast, but yeah, Beauty
(17:31):
and the Beast. I just love these, you know movies
that there are MoU Lawn and like so many movies
that man, they're just not working for me and and
I think for many people too. They make a lot
of money, but reviews wise, they're not doing so well. However,
I'm about to eat my words because there are two
movies enfranchises that I absolutely love and and I would
(17:54):
have thought maybe a year ago, if you had said
this was in the works for live adaptation, I would
have been like, why why are you doing this? However,
I am able to admit when I'm maybe wrong. I'm
not gonna I can say I'm full of it, but
I'll say I'm maybe wrong. And one of those movies
is Lelo and Stitch. Lelo and Stitch. I love that movie.
It's so adorable, it's so cute, great story, heartwarming, perfectly made.
(18:18):
You don't need a live adaptation, or so I thought
until I saw a screenshot of the CGI version of
Stitch sitting on in bed and then you have Leelo
like in the in the forefront, in the forefront but
kind of out of frame. But then just looking at this,
I'm like, Okay, that actually looks really good, and so
(18:39):
that one actually is kind of piquing my interests, and
that one I'm actually kind of interested in. If they
aren't able to, I don't know where they're filming it.
If they do film it in Hawaii. They'll just give
it extra bonus points because one of the reasons why
I love the animated movie is because it makes you
feel like you're in Hawaii, gives you the Hawaiian vibes.
My wife and I went to Maui where the move
where the movie was based, and you just feel that
(19:01):
when you're watching that movie, you feel like you're back there.
So if they do film it over there, that'll be
a bonus. But it does look good. But also the
stills came out for How to Train Your Dragon live
adaptation of that, and again have to eat my words.
This looks really really good, and those movies are great films,
(19:23):
and honestly, I'm not sure, based on what I'm looking
at right now, if I would mind seeing that in
live action format. Jamie, what are your thoughts on my
one eight eight on this position.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
James, Live action is tough. Live action is tough.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
But I will say that I recently had to eat
my words just going back to One Piece after I
don't think that there's ever been an anime adaptation anywhere
near as good as One Piece is, right, and it's
just a series of disappointments after disappointments, and don't even
get me started on the live action Avatar the Last Airbenders,
(20:04):
and you know it's just and but then you get
that diamond right out of all of that, where the
showrunners and the creators and the actors and just everything
comes together and creates like perfection. Right. It's hard to do,
but it is possible. So in looking at these first
(20:28):
few images and frames, I mean, I think that, like
you told me earlier, you're like, I don't hate them.
That's a good start.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
That's a good start.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
I think I know why why? Because you know, with like,
for example, the Lion King. Right, for example, when they
animated those animals which they try to make super highly realistic,
the human eye knows, you know, canny from uncanny, And
even though they look very realistic, the human eye just
(21:00):
consciously knows that's not real. Something looks off about that.
It's kind of weird. Yeah, same thing with kind of
like with the Jungle Book. You know, better story. However,
you know some of the characters or animals, you can
tell I wasn't fully enveloped by it. However, those are
real life things that humans know and see every day,
(21:21):
things like dragons, things like an alien stitch from space.
We don't have that, you know, kind of to be
able to compare it in real life. So I think
things like this lend itself to being able to suspend
your disbelief and enjoy that. And from what I'm looking at,
it looks very very good. I'm not sure if I
(21:42):
want them to stick straight like you know, beat for beat,
as the animated films did, or if they do take
some liberties and make a different story or in different direction.
I'm not quite sure about that yet. However, again what
I'm looking at, it's possible they did the same thing
with with Paddington. Of course, Paddington famously a book, a story,
(22:04):
and cartoon, but they transformed into real life. But he's
the only like cgi character in the entire movie, so
they're able to devote a lot of attention to detail
to Paddington. And I don't know, it just worked. He
wrote a coat, so like, I don't know, you don't
see bears Ryan coats, so I think you know it
helps also, but I don't know.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
I am and Sonic works.
Speaker 3 (22:25):
Sonics works too after abjects out there right after the
fan base famously rebelled on the original character design and
they redesigned him and now.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
It just works so well and it looks so good.
Speaker 3 (22:40):
Character design is a really big part of it staying
true to the spirit of the story. And you know
what the one piece showrunner had said was what they
had learned from Avatar the Last Airbender is that.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
Fans want they don't want changes.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
They want to see the thing that they love in
a different media, right, and they want you to stay
as true to the story in the original as possible.
I don't know why it took so long for these
people to learn that lesson, but but that's that's true.
So we'll see how that translates to these two projects.
But yeah, here's here's hoping that we're starting to head
(23:17):
into a more positive live action adaptation direction than what
some some projects have been in the past.
Speaker 1 (23:27):
Yeah, fingers crossed. And who knows, these movies may be
so great that they end up being nominated for an Oscar.
And speaking of the Oscars, because I just brought it up,
I've going to talk about are our Pride and joy
of Massachusetts of New England. Mister Conan O'Brien. He has
been named the this year's host of the Oscars. So
(23:47):
I love Conan. He's my favorite talk show host, probably
favorite interviewer of all time. And I'm definitely gonna be
watching this year's Oscars because you put him in front
of anything I'm watching. He could be he could be
volding laundry, and I'm watching it because it's gonna be hilarious.
So I'm very excited to see that Conan is hosting,
taking over the reins from Jimmy Kimmel, who hosted it
(24:10):
in the past two years.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
That's right, hashtag team Coco, Team Coco.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
Forever, indeed. And speaking about Oscar worthy performances that we
are going to see being rewarded at the Oscars at
the Academy Awards, I let's talk about some Oscar worthy
acting in the movie Heretic. Heretic. I just watched it
and it's not perfect, but I think it may be
(24:38):
my one of my favorite movies I've seen this year,
easily without a doubt. Jamie, have you have you seen
the trailer for this? Do you know anything about Heretic?
Speaker 3 (24:46):
No, James, No, I haven't, but it sounds scary.
Speaker 2 (24:51):
Is it a scary movie?
Speaker 1 (24:52):
Yeah? And it's a very very good one. No, this one.
I really recommend. If you are not into the thriller, mystery, suspenseful,
creep kind of movie, this may not be for you.
But if you are, then I recommend watching this movie
right away. Basically, the plot two young religious women are
drawn into a game of cat and mouse in the
house of a strange man. Co directed and co written
(25:14):
by Scott Beck and Brian Woods, this stars Sophie Thatcher
as Sister Barnes, Chloe East as Sister Paxton, and Hugh
Grant as mister Reid. Basically, the movie starts out with
the sisters Sister Barnes and Paxton. They are Mormon missionaries
who are going to homes of people who request more
information about the Mormon faith, and they go to Hugh
(25:37):
Grant's character's home just as the snowstorm is rolling in.
And once inside the house, you know, they they you know,
things seem to be normal, things seem to be pleasant.
But as the conversation dives deeper into religion, I you know,
the scenes get more uncomfortable, the characters start feeling more uneased,
(25:58):
and things really start to get weird, so much so
that the two girls they say, oh, you know what
we really have to go. The folks over at the
church they called us, and you know, we appreciate your
time and whatnot. But then they find out that they
are physically incapable of leaving the house for various reasons.
(26:19):
And during the rest of the movie that to figure
out what Hugh Grant's character's motives really are and how
they plan to escape the house. Like I said in
the beginning, Jamie, this is not a perfect movie, but
I think this is one of the best movies I've
seen this year. The cast is great, the story is gripping,
(26:42):
the script fantastic. But what's really surprising and shocking is
how great Hugh Grants is at playing such a creepy
and scary villain in this movie. Like if you would
have talked to people twenty twenty five years ago when
(27:03):
Hugh Grant was performing in all those like yeah, these
rom com films, that one day he'd be the perfect
villain in this and then these types of movies, you know,
let alone Paddington Too, which is more jaunty in fun
villainy at foot, but this one really really cranks up
the creep factor and Hugh Grant is phenomenal phenomenal in
(27:25):
this film. Captivating, thrilling, creepy, and just scary all around.
And the thing that makes this interesting is that he's
not really like physically threatening, but the mystery of his
motives and the feeling of being trapped in this very
very unnerving house is what keeps you on the edge
(27:46):
of your seat. Like I said, I think this is
some Oscar worthy performances not only by Grant but by
also the two main actresses. This is a movie I
think you should watch immediately if you are looking for
a really solid film. I would say, again, not perfect
because of the third acts. There are some I think
(28:06):
people may be divided by how it ends, but the
first acts are so so great and and again the
third act satisfying, satisfying enough to warrant a very strong
recommendation from myself. So I don't know. I think there.
I think Hugh Grant is in this really fun period
in his career where he's really leaning into the more
(28:29):
eccentric and more thrilling and more unleashed performances, and he's
perfect for it.
Speaker 2 (28:37):
Well, so wonderful.
Speaker 3 (28:38):
We'll see what you know, some of our favorite stars
can do when they get outside of their genre, right,
some folks are type cast in that way, you know,
Hugh Grant, like the rom com you know bo Boo
bo or whatever of the rom com. H. So that's
really fantastic. That's really interesting. And you were talking about,
(28:59):
you know, the him trying new things. I think that's
kind of the freedom you get when you have that
kind of star power and like you said, you're at
that point in your career you can do the things
that you haven't done before, and that's so much more
interesting and fun to see.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
Now.
Speaker 3 (29:17):
I know you're a horror guy and you are also
a big fan of Nicholas Cage, who I feel like
also has a lot of range. How would you compare
like Nick Cage's performances and range to what you're seeing
that Hugh Grant might be capable of or is there
no comparison?
Speaker 2 (29:35):
Am I crazy?
Speaker 3 (29:37):
So?
Speaker 1 (29:38):
Nick Cage was really really great in Long Legs where
he plays the serial killer. That being said, Hugh Grant,
Like the funny thing is like all the Hugh Grant's
mannerisms that we are all used to, like his kind
of like stumbly stuttery talk and facial expressions and all
this other stuff. That he does so subtly or or
(30:00):
outlandishly with his face, like all those Hugh Grant mannerisms
are in this movie. But he's able to tweak him
ever so slightly in a way that I didn't really
feel or get from say Nick Age's last performance again,
to completely different characters, different motives and whatnot. But Hugh
Grant is such a fantastic actor to be able to
(30:22):
play you know, the rom com lead to a funny
villain for Paddington too, who is like devilish, and to
this one who is somebody who is psychotic, who is
a religiously demented If I can say so, I think
(30:44):
it was such great work that he did in this film,
and it may open up more movies that he's able to,
you know, spread his wings even further and play with
So I highly recommend heretic. It's out of theaters right now.
Go watch it if you are and a few Grants
or of this kind of genre. I will add Jamie Yes,
that there's one one thing in the end credits that
(31:06):
actually caught my attention, and it was the phrase because
you know, there are movies when whenever there are animals
that star in a film, though at the very end
they'll be that that quote that says no animals were
harmed in the making of this film, right in this
movie the end the end credits included the phrase no
generative AI was used in the making of this film
(31:29):
and made me think, is this the new frontier that
we're telling people, Whether this movie leaned in on artificial intelligence,
something that many actors have fought against, or that disclaimer
will not be there because now AI is being more
incorporated into the filmmaking process or the final products.
Speaker 3 (31:51):
Yeah, I think that you're right. You know, it's like
one of those labels is like, oh, non GMO, non AI,
you know, uh made generated movies. So and it's important
too because it's something that actors have fought so hard for.
And if you're somebody who I guess wants to be
(32:12):
a conscientious consumer.
Speaker 2 (32:14):
Of film, yeah.
Speaker 3 (32:18):
It's something that you can kind of add a feather
to your conscientious hat I guess and be like, hey,
I supported a film that didn't take advantage of working
actors and recreate their likenesses without you know, allowing them
to perform or paying them for their performances. So that
that is really interesting. I haven't seen that yet, but
(32:39):
like you said, that might be the wave of the future.
And you know what else is the wave of the future,
James is the Hub on Hollywood.
Speaker 1 (32:46):

AI was used during the making of this podcast.

Speaker 4 (35:00):
Meeting on the Joint Chiefs of Staff, okay, and using
just a laptop, hacks and Nordon shuts down our entire
defense network. So they put a gun to the man's
head and forced him to stop the hacker.
Speaker 1 (35:13):
Should we just put hackers like just in case?
Speaker 2 (35:15):
Okay, Yeah, go for it.
Speaker 1 (35:18):
Let's see hackers nineteen ninety five. I don't think so,

But which one it's die Hard? I think it's Live
Free or die Hard? Okay, let's see, let's try it
two thousand and seven, Live Free or die Hard? Ye,
(36:11):
there we go. Yeah, I'm remembered that scene where Bruce
Willis uses a ramp or like an interesting meeting of
some sort to launch a car into the air and
it takes down a helicopter in beautiful, beautiful peas. Those
who were playing listening along, did you know it was
(36:31):
Live Free or die Hard? The two thousand and seven classic.
I only like the first, first, and third die Hard movies.
The other ones there whatever, But and.
