Speaker 1 (00:00):
This hour of programming on seven to ten doubleore. He's
sponsored by Toyota City and Mamaranak and Nissan City of Portchester,
proud members of the Integrity Automotive Group. Now former Westchester
County Executive Rob Astorino on sevent ten wore.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
A person who is respected and adored by the warfighters.
This is a Secretary of Defense who will stand up
for the men and women that we send overseas to
fight our nations wars. I think a lot of them
feel that they haven't had somebody who's had their back.
That will change because the President of the United States
nominated this guy, and we are grateful to President Trump
for doing so. To say one final thing, if you
(00:44):
look at what has separated President Trump from so many
of the people who came before him, it is the
view that number one, we should be sparing and how
we deplore and how we deploy our most precious resource,
which is the men and women who are willing to
put on the unim and put their life.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
On the line for this country. We shouldn't send them everywhere,
but two, when we do send them anywhere, we ought
to empower them with the tools necessary to fight and
win quickly and come home afterwards. And that is what
sets this administration apart. And that's what Pete Hegseik represents.
All right, welcome to the rob Astorino Show.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
So that was jd Vance talking about Pete Hegseith, who
is the new Secretary of Defense. It took jd Vance
the Vice President, to actually break the tie last night
because three sellouts. Rakowski from Alaska, a very red state,
(01:43):
Collins from Maine, and of course the former majority leader
or the golf Kentucky speaks logdess and he walks like
a little shuffle because he's nine hundred years old, and
you're stolen to Senate. Mitch McConnell voted no. Thankfully, we
(02:04):
picked up three seats in the Senate so we can
avoid this nonsense going forward. Jd Vance maybe a real
busy guy going over the next four years back and
forth from his office in the White House, the Executive
Office Building and in the Senate where he'll break ties.
But anyway, the Trump era has begun, and what a
week it's been. Glad to have you with us on
(02:27):
seven ten wr one eight hundred three two one zero
seven ten one eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
So when I last left you last Saturday at five o'clock,
I sign off, take my headphones off, go downstairs, catch
an uber to Penn Station to get amtrak to DC
(02:50):
working for Newsmax, and it was it was a great time.
So I was talking to you about how I didn't
pack properly, and I'll get into that because it was
cold and I was outside for a very long time
on Monday, but the trip really started in Penn Station
(03:11):
and I'm walking around and Penn Station, honestly, it's I
don't know, it's kind of a cross between The Walking
Dead and like some apocalyptic movie because it's it's it's
also kind of like you know, the Insane Asylum they
(03:32):
opened the doors and ran out.
Speaker 5 (03:34):
It was.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
It's sad, but it's also dangerous. I'm walking around and
I cannot tell you how many mentally ill, homeless, specifically
men directly came up to me in Penn Station with
that you know, dangerous look in their eyes, begging for
(03:55):
money or asking for something, and they're just walking around.
Some of them were just sleeping in the corner, you know,
just they haven't showered in months, probably, and it's sad,
and it's such a breakdown of this city that we
can't even downstairs at Penn Station where they're all congregating.
(04:17):
We can't have an opportunity as a commuter to feel safe.
And they're doing nobody any favors by letting them all
just wander around. So I get on Amtrak to head
down and I had a reserve seat in the business
class section, so you know, it's I was at one
(04:40):
of those tables where there's four seats, so I get there,
I'm seated already and I have the window seat, and
the other three were empty at that point, and it's
kind of you know, once you get on the train,
it kind of goes pretty quickly. You've got like five
minutes and then it's it's you know, they depart, so
like four minutes go by and those seats are empty.
(05:01):
I'm like, oh, this will be great if I have
this whole section to myself. And then I see these
three people walking down between the aisle and I'm like,
oh no, they're gonna sit right next to me. And
this one guy was like a snoop dog wanna bee.
He sat next to me and he reeked of marijuana.
(05:24):
I was basically stoned by the time we got to
DC because this guy was sitting next to me and
he passed it, basically passed out with his head slumped
on the table with his hoodie over his head. Now
it's one thing to be sitting next to some guy,
you know. They were nice people, by the way, the
(05:44):
two women he was with, they were actually very nice.
But this guy just was done. Now I'm kind of trapped.
At one point, I want I didn't want to smell
it anymore, but I also had to get up and
take a pee or just walk around, and I wanted
to go to the cafe car and this this guy's
passed out next to me, and I'm stuck at the window,
stuck inside. And so finally I said, the woman actually
(06:07):
saw me. She goes, you want to get up, don't you.
I said, yeah, I said, but you know, I don't
want to wake him up. She goes, it doesn't matter.
He does this all the time, and she starts kicking him.
Get up, get up. So finally he was nice enough
to get up, and I walked down and I just
spent like the next three hours basically in the cafe
(06:28):
car and I was watching the football game. It was
the Lions game, and I'm watching it on my phone.
And so the bartender was a Washington commander's fan. That's
who they were playing because we were going to DC.
And she's like, oh my god, where are you getting
the game? And I'm like, oh, you know, I'm watching
(06:49):
on my phone. So he sits down next to me.
We watched the game. Now, two ahead of us, two
tables ahead of us was this woman and she said
every time we would talk about the game, the score,
or something that happened, she would turn around, what's going on?
What's going on? She was a big Washington fan. So
I said, you know, you're more than welcome to sit
with us and watch the game on my phone. I
(07:10):
put it up against the window and so we could
all see it. So she did. She sits down. So
we're talking and where are you from? I'm from New York.
Where are you from? I'm from San Diego. What do
you do? I tell her, what do you do? She
tells me she's, you know, in pharmaceuticals or something. So
she says, oh, what are you going down to DC for?
So I said, oh, I'm going down for the inauguration.
(07:31):
And she goes, oh, are you happy about this? And
I said, yeah, I've been waiting four years for this day.
Are you kidding me? And she looks at me her
mouth opened, like, how could you? How could you support
this guy? You're actually going to celebrate the inauguration and
(07:52):
not protest. And I'm saying, I said, are you? How
are these last four years worked out? I said, you
are you really thinking that Biden was a good present?
Now I'm doing it? It is, Actually, it's very It
was a peaceful conversation. We weren't screaming at each other
or anything, but she kind of looked at me with contempt,
(08:14):
like a lot of them do. So finally she said,
oh my god, I can't believe you're going down to
support this man. I said, you know what I said. Look,
before we got into this conversation, we were having a
nice time. I've offered you this seat, I said. And
here's the difference between what I think is my side
and maybe your side. I said, you are knowing that
(08:38):
you are a Trump hater, I am more than happy
to have you still sit at this table and watch
the game with me, if you so choose, and she
starts to smile. She goes, thank you, that's nice, and
I'm thinking of my head, shut the bleep up, you
blankety blank, and just enjoy yourself because I'm going down
to have a great time. So finally we get to
(09:00):
DC and it is cold.
Speaker 6 (09:03):
Now.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
When I last left you last Saturday, I was complaining
because of my stupidity. I packed wrong. And I'm normally
a very good packer when I go on trips, and
generally speaking, I pack half of what I need because
I always found that you end up coming home with
a lot of clothes that you never ended up wearing.
(09:25):
And if you're on vacation, you know who cares? Who
cares if you wear the same thing a second time.
You're not gonna see these people unless you staying with
family or something. But then you know you could do laundry.
But if you're in a hotel or you're moving around
different cities, you want to pack light. So I didn't
look at the final forecast, not realizing how brutally cold
(09:47):
it was going to be, and not just that there
was precipitation schedule, it was gonna rain or it was
gonna snow, and it was just gonna be downright miserable
and My assignment for Newsmax was I was supposed to
be out side the White House in the viewing stand
they set up across from where the presidential viewing stand
was going to be for the parade, So we had
(10:09):
primo spot. I mean, it was really great, and we
had a clear shot at looking at the north portico
of the White House, so we were gonna see Donald
Trump come in and go to the front door met
by the Bidens, and when the parade was gonna happen,
Literally it was probably fifty feet between where I was
standing and directly across the glass partitioned seat where Donald
(10:34):
Trump and Millenia were gonna sit with JD. Vance. Now
that all got canceled. So because of the weather, there
was nothing outside. They canceled every portion of the outdoor activities.
Everything was moved indoors, as you know, right, So they
did the swearing in and his remarks inside the Capitol Rotunda,
(10:56):
and they canceled even a short parade route to the
Capitol One arena, So that was all that was gone.
So literally from six am on Monday morning until four
thirty in the afternoon, I was outside in this location.
It was completely open. There was nothing protecting us, and
(11:19):
by around eight thirty in the morning, I started to
get pretty darn cold. But the day before I had
gone to I think I pat it was a men's
warehouse or joseph a Bank, one of those places, and
I said, I better, I gotta get some stuff. So
I ended up getting this very heavy vest. I ended
up getting additional long John's which I had brought, and
(11:42):
I did get those thermals, those heated pads that you
can put in your gloves. I should have put them
in my feet, but I didn't. Anyway, that actually worked
pretty well. There was only a couple points and at
lunch time we were able to stop. During went when
he got to the Capitol, we were able to talk
to our DC bureau, which is like five minutes from
(12:03):
where I was from the White House, and so I
was able to thaw out for about an hour and
then we went back outside for the rest of the day.
So it was pretty interesting but watching where I was.
So they ended up using the Pennsylvania Avenue below where
we were situated. They used that as the staging area
(12:23):
for all of the motorcade. So after they dropped off
the President and Vice President elect at that time, and
even Kamala Harris when she got to the White House
after they dropped them off, their limos and security cars
and the ambulance, and there's a mechanic that actually travels too.
I mean, there's everything there. They actually parked right below us.
(12:47):
So I was listening to the Secret Service agent's talk
and bark out orders to each other of what's happening next,
what car has to go first? And then I saw something.
It was pretty strange. I actually posted this on my
Instagram and on x and on Facebook. So they're still
up if you want to go see it, but right
below us again, when Kamala Harris was dropped off, she
(13:09):
goes into the White House, her little motorcade came back
around and went stopped in front of where we were.
And at that point they actually unscrewed the vice presidential
flag on that suv that she rode, and it just
became another suv. She wasn't taking that anymore, and that
(13:31):
was that. It was like they unscrewed it and she
was done. And it was pretty interesting. And at ten
o'clock or it was back nine thirty, I think I
noticed right ahead of us, now we had a great
view obviously of the White House, the Executive Office Building,
the Treasury Department, and then some other federal buildings in
the skyline, but directly across from US again, which was
(13:54):
where the President was going to sit for the parade.
There were two big flags were at half staff at
some point it was around nine thirty. Now Biden was
still president, and there's an executive order that all the
US flags had to be at half staff for Jimmy Carter.
And that, you know, that really ticked off Trump because
(14:15):
the Left was using that to say, you see, this
country is really in mourning because Donald Trump was being
sworn in. So Trump was really annoyed at that. But
at some point those two flags were raised to the top.
They were raised to full staff. And I said, you
know what, I bet you at some point when Trump
(14:36):
is sworn in, there's going to be a new executive order.
All these flags and these buildings are going to go up.
And you know what, it was about twelve fifteen. All
of a sudden, I see I see people on top
of the White House and they start raising the flag
all the way up. And then I'm looking around and
across DC. I'm literally seeing these flags go up, and
(14:58):
then of course we learned later on that Donald Trump
had an executive order that all the US flags would
be back up top until the next day, where they'd
be back half staff for Jimmy Carter for the thirty
day period, but there was no question he was in charge.
Speaker 6 (15:13):
Now.
Speaker 4 (15:14):
It was really a really fun day, interesting day, and
and I mean I was glad to be part of
that history because in sixteen I went down there. I
was county executive at the time, and we were the
whole New York Republican delegation. We were I think in
the Newseum is what they call it, but we had
the top, we had a whole floor for the GOP party,
(15:37):
and then outside we were able to watch the parade
and the inauguration. So this time it was a little
different because I was outside the entire time and reporting.
And I tell you, it's a little challenge when I'm
reporting outside the White House and nothing is happening because
they're all gone, they're all over at the Capitol, and
yet they still want you to provide from some flavor
(15:59):
and color, so you know, you have to come up
with different things. And I was able to see Marine one.
It flew right over us, right over the White House
and onto Andrews Air Force Base, where Biden was then
no longer president and leaving for good, thank god. So
(16:19):
it's been a fun week, interesting week, obviously, a flurry
of executive orders and action by Donald Trump. He right
now just finished up a speech in Las Vegas on
his no tax on tips. It's like a Maga rally.
He's five days in as president. And think of the
week he's done already with all of his eos and
(16:41):
just policy shifts, and it's been phenomenal. And just think
of those pardons on Monday. So you have Joe Biden
pathetically issuing pardons earlier in the morning, and then right
before he left office at eleven forty five, he issued
pardon preemptive pardons for his family member, you know, his brother, Jim,
(17:04):
his sister, all of this. And you know in the
morning it was for Fauci and Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger,
all these just sellouts. Why are they getting pardons if
they did nothing wrong? Why are they getting pardons, by
the way, if they've never been charged with anything yet.
And to me, this is a hell of a dangerous precedent.
(17:27):
So let's just take this to the tenth degree for
a second. Here, They've been pardoned, they were never charged.
The Trump pardons people who were convicted and either doing
time or had done time, and he wiped their records clean.
These pro lifers who were arrested by these DOJ thugs
(17:50):
for praying outside of abortion clinics, and all the January
sixth people who were caught up in this. Now you
can argue that some of them were violent and should
not have been pardoned. I could argue that for what
they actually did, they've already served their time. They've been
in jail for four years. But either way that that's
(18:11):
over with. But the fact that Joe Biden preemptively pardoned
people for crimes they haven't been charged with, or no
crimes whatsoever that we know of, doesn't that admit to
some guilt? And you have to accept the pardon, by
the way, and they've all accepted the pardon. But just
(18:31):
think about this going forward for one second, and then
I'm going to start taking your calls in a little bit.
And I mean, there's a lot to talk about here,
but Joe Biden pardoning his family members and others let's
go forward to ten years from now, let's say fifteen
years now. I don't know aoc is president, and she's
(18:52):
as far left as you can get. She's a socialist
president in the United States, and she declares through a
presidential pardon that every American, or let's just say, she says,
every Hispanic American, I am preemptively pardoning you or every
person in this country. I am preemptively pardoning every American
(19:17):
for any crime that you may have committed or may
commit in the future, because I don't believe in the
justice system in America. What because you do it for
one you can't do it for two hundred million. It's
the same thing that's the terrible precedent that was set
by Joe Biden on the final minutes of his presidency
(19:42):
one in hundred and three to two one zero seven ten.
One in hundred three to two, one zero seven ten.
Rob ast Reno, make sure you follow me on all
social media at rob astor Reno on x, on Instagram
and Facebook. Of course, go see the photos and the
videos that I put up there. And if if you
don't know of somebody who's a friend of mine or following,
(20:05):
please tell them and make sure that they listen each week.
All right, Uh, Bruce, you ready to go? Age Williams
on me.
Speaker 7 (20:12):
A dear Williams pain, a G. Williams pain thing the
people even just to do the job right.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
Okay, So I do have to tell you the truth.
This is honest to God truth. That jingle was in
my head. So here's too. Yeah, it was in my
head for two straight nights. I don't think I could sleep.
I literally was walking around all day singing this stupid song.
And it's a good song. When the jingle works, it works,
and this one works.
Speaker 7 (20:43):
AJ Williams painting a G. Williams pain sing.
Speaker 4 (20:48):
The people just to do the job right. So what
about a G. Williams. Well, it's the third generation of
a family owned business and it goes back to night six,
so they obviously know how to do the job right.
If you have a house or your residence needs to
be painted inside or out, they're the ones. You got
(21:10):
a commercial building, they're the ones, and they've got expert
craftsmen that come along as well. They'll make the repairs,
like the rotted wood around the window that needs to
go before you can repaint. You don't want to do
it twice. You got big cracks. They got to be
fixed before you start the painting. So these guys are
really really good. Don't cheap out. I mean, there's some
(21:32):
things you shouldn't cheap out on, including like when you
do work around your house. You don't want terrible paint
and you want people that don't know how to paint.
So their license, they're insured, they're certified. They're really good.
Go to Agwilliams Painting dot com Agwilliams Painting dot com
and one more time, enjoy the jingle and good luck
getting it out of your head.
Speaker 7 (21:53):
A Williams Painting AG Williams Painting the bells to.
Speaker 4 (22:01):
Do the job. Break all right, we'll take your calls.
One eight hundred and three to two one zero seven ten.
Next on the rob Astino Show. Here on seven ten WR.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
Seven ten, Doubler presents the rob as Doerino Show.
Speaker 4 (22:15):
Bottom of the Hour and we chug along till five o'clock.
We do this every Saturday. Make sure you tell people
obviously you are, because we're getting more and more people
listening to this show. And I've run into people all
the time that tell me, oh, I listened to your
radio show, or they email me, or or they'll ask
me a question and say, oh, I listen to your
(22:37):
radio show, what do you think of I said, you
gotta call in, you gotta when you listen, you gotta
call in. One hundred and three two one zero seven ten.
Just one of the things. So we had our big
Newsmax party on Sunday night and it was at the
Carnegie Andrew Carnegie Auditorium, really beautiful. Maybe if you were
(23:01):
watching news Maas on Sunday night you saw us. We
were doing live stuff from there, and it was really
cool because it was a lot of people that you
don't often get to talk to in person that are
on our air. You know, a lot of these times
I'm interviewing people and even people that are regularly on Newsmax,
but I've never met them because they're just on the show.
(23:23):
And so for that seven minutes that we talked together
on the air, that's it. And it's like, see you
in a month, or see you next week or whatever,
but hardly talk to him. So it was good to
actually meet some of the people that I'm constantly on
with because they are in different parts of the world
or the country. But it was a very cool moment.
I'll share this with you because you're my friend. So
(23:46):
Scott Bessant, who is the incoming Treasury secretary, he was
there that night. Marco Rubio was there that night, many others.
So anyway, Bessont was standing around, he was talking to
some people, and I kind of went up and I said,
I just wanted to say a quick hello. And he says,
(24:09):
I swear. He goes, Rob, you were a great county
executive and I voted for you. I was totally floored.
I've never met him, but he lived in Bedford in Westchester,
which I had known, but I mean I never had
contact with him. And he said, I just want to
thank you, by the way, for pushing back on Obama
(24:30):
and HUD when they were trying to take over zoning
in Westchester. I'm like, whoa, this is the incoming treasury secretary.
That's very cool. So I said, you know, thank you
so much. I really appreciate that. So the point is,
just like on radio and television, you never know you
never know who's listening, you never know who's watching, You
(24:53):
never know who knows about you or follows you any
of that stuff. So it was I just thought I
would share that with you because I thought it was
pretty darn cool. If you're out to get a car,
now is the time to go to Toyota City in Mamaronik.
Toyota City's got a great lineup of cars. Everything you want. Obviously,
any make or model of Toyota is there. But you know,
(25:15):
if you're looking to lease a car or finance it,
they've got the good offers. They know what they're doing,
no hidden fees, very efficient process, quick delivery of the vehicle.
And this is what I like. They respect you. They
don't look at you as you know another customer coming
in a we got to bang this one for as
much as we can get. No, they actually treat you
(25:38):
with respect and you have their word. So they've got
a nice, good firm handshake. Best customer care anywhere, and
they're all part of the Integrity Automotive Group. Like they've
got Infinity of Queen's right out Northern Boulevard. That's one
of theirs. So they're all over. They've got Jersey, New
York City and two in Westchester to Toyota City and
(26:00):
Nissan City. So if you're looking for a Toyota, head
over to Toyota City in Mamaronik Toyota cityeny dot com,
Toyota cityeny dot com. And I still think, uh, you know,
you head over there and you tell them rob Astorino
sent you, and they will give you five hundred dollars
off any new vehicle in stock. You just tell them
that and they'll do it. I'm looking at Donald Trump
(26:23):
right now. Is he at a crabs table? He's in
a He spoke at a casino today and he was
talking about no tax on tips. He is standing at
a at a crabs table with other gamblers. Ah, that's great.
That's why this guy got alected. Can you imagine Joe
Biden trying or Kamala Harris trying to be a normal person?
(26:48):
Of course not all right, Let's go to the phones
one eight hundred and three two one zero seven ten
rob Astorino here on seven ten wo r Let us
go to Chris and Beth Long Island.
Speaker 8 (27:00):
Hi, Chris, hey, rub Yeah, I could picture Joe Biden
crapped but in his pants.
Speaker 4 (27:08):
But anyhow, exactly.
Speaker 8 (27:11):
Anyhow, and you're told him, I know you worked for Newsmatch.
I went to high school with Chris Ruddy. We went
to Shamana together that. I'm very happy for him.
Speaker 4 (27:21):
Chris Ruddy is the owner and CEO of Newsmax and
a really good guy. I'm not sucking up. He's actually
I known him a very long time, way before news
Maas TV even started.
Speaker 8 (27:31):
Yep, he's a fellow flyer. Anyhow, a couple of things, Rob,
you said you were walking to Penn Station. Yeah, you know,
to go down to Washington. Now, I'm sixty one years old.
I've been commuting to the city from Long Island for
about forty years. Okay, it's insane. What's going on down
(27:51):
in Penn Station now? And I know you see it,
but I've seen people desiccate down there right in front
of me.
Speaker 4 (27:57):
Oh yeah, yeah, no, So it's a horrible lot. And
and you know what, And look, I I am very
pro cop, but I have to tell you there were
so many of the cops that I saw, the NYPD
cops they're just kind of standing looking at their iPhones.
They're online on their phones or texting or whatever, and
(28:18):
nobody's really looking around. I know Mayor Adams have actually
made a comment about that, like get your head up,
stop stop staying on your phone and watch what's happening,
because it's true. I mean, these guys are walking around
and they're and they're mentally ill, and they're dangerous, and
I would never want my wife or daughters to be
down there by themselves. It's they're just it's it's not
(28:40):
a good time right now. Anyway.
Speaker 8 (28:44):
This is exactly why I called though. So what I'm
saying is I've witnessed people like you can't imagine the
amount of turnstile jumpers too. Of course, so I've gone
up to cops. I've spoken to them. They're sick of me.
I've even taken videos of cops doing this. They get
pistol us at me because I can't stand it. So
I talked to them, and you're right, you're on the
cell phones, and you know what they said to me
(29:05):
all the time, same thing. There's nothing we can do
about it. Okay, we try to do this, and that's
so their hands are tied. Yeah, that's what they're trying
to tell me.
Speaker 4 (29:14):
No, I get it. I get it, and I thank
you for the call, Chris. It's a little frustrating for
them because they you know, they cuff these these guys
and they're going to be right back out on the streets,
and it is frustrating. But they shouldn't be there in
the first place. They should be in a shelter, they
should be getting treatment. That's the point of this. To
leave them out there or in the cold. Uh, that
(29:36):
is not humane, And yet that's what the left push is.
Danny and Croton on Hudson and Westchester.
Speaker 9 (29:42):
How are you, Danny grub I defy anybody right now
to go round the dial and find something better than
a day sign, something better than the Rob Masterino show.
You're not going to find it awesome show, my man.
And I just want to tell Chris that I went
to school with George wat Washington, so I think I
could top them on that. Listen, it's great what's happening,
(30:06):
and they're getting the people out of here. I think
the song steam Hey, Hey, goodbye should be played every
time we throw them out of their head, out of
the country head first. But also I also believe none
of these criminals violent criminals. But they were also tax
sheets too. How they manipulate the system. They get welfare,
they use phony either a phony ID soial security, or
(30:28):
they get the tax pay ID and they put in
for the income tax credits and they put down their
five kids, ten kids, and they get ten fifteen, twenty
thousand dollars checks. That's right, folks, when you're trying to
pay your rent or your mortgage, they're getting big money
back from the government and in income or in tax credit.
What does that mean? The only thing there is it's
a credit. The other three words are false words. They're
(30:50):
robbing the system and their tax sheets. They have to
be thrown out of here and also be hit on
a couple things quickly. Look how long it took us
to get the name of the person who shot that
Border patrol agent up in Vermont the other day. Why
are they protecting these people by not releasing their names.
Luigi's name.
Speaker 10 (31:07):
They knew his.
Speaker 9 (31:07):
Whole background, his family, his mother, to everybody. They loved
that name. Curtis Leewood went into an old guy's on
Frenzy he saying Luigi's name. But Curtise lee Will will
never tell us who attacked his son. Why is he
protecting the people attack his son? And also, let me
finalize with this Rodney show is excellent. I've turned a
lot of people onto it. That other station is Bann
(31:28):
Steve from Manhattan, folks, you have to know it, and
I defy anybody to go around to dial to find something.
Speaker 4 (31:33):
All Right, Danny, thanks for the call. You know it's
a scam, and you know Trump did the executive order
banning birthright citizenship, which is never going to make it
through the courts. They already put a halt on it,
and this is one that won't stand. But Congress. Congress
can put stipulations and that will hold up. Now whether
(31:57):
or not you'll get Republicans to agree on this actually
get over the hurdle in the Senate, I don't know
if that'll happen. But there was just a report that
came out. Two hundred and fifty thousand, a quarter of
a million, a quarter of a million children were born
to illegal immigrants in twenty twenty three. That's just one year.
(32:19):
So it's this whole birth tourism. It's the game show,
get over the border and you win, and that's what's happening.
So though it won't hold up, at least it brings
this issue to the forefront. Think about that two hundred
and fifty kids who were born now are American citizens
(32:39):
and their illegal immigrant parents won the bonanza. They won
the big prize. That was it, and it was aided
and abedded by Joseph Robin Biden one hundred and three
two one zero seven ten, Steve and the.
Speaker 11 (33:02):
It's a good program. The hope they expand your program.
Speaker 4 (33:05):
Thank you.
Speaker 11 (33:06):
But you know, you know, while I'm glad Trump won,
I just can't help when I see the local news
around here, the this psychotic visceral hatred for Trump is
still continues. It continues while they're able to round up
these uh A bunch of barbarians who don't belong here
(33:28):
in the first place. And I'm just afraid people in
this city, like these A c o. U types and
all these other leftist nonprofit types. I'm gonna do everything
they can to hide these savages. And and I'm just
I'm just really, I know I should be optimistic, but
I'm not because maybe I'm surrounded by by a bunch
(33:49):
of people who voted for this crap.
Speaker 4 (33:51):
You brought up a great point, Steven. I was actually
gonna bring this up a little later. Thanks thanks for
the call. So we have not one. This game is
not over, meaning Okay, so Donald Trump is going in
reversing some of the policies of Biden. Do you really
think that DEI is completely dead? Do you think that
(34:13):
they have stuck the proverbial stake in the heart? No,
not only is it gonna be dormant just like TDS
and then pop up again. It is just gonna morph
into different avenues. It's gonna become it's gonna be called
something different. But do you think these liberal corporations or
(34:34):
these liberal universities. No, they're not getting rid of it.
They're just hiding it. They're just repackaging it. This fight
is not over. We want a big battle, thank god.
But you mark my words. So right now you've got
illegal immigrant, violent criminals that are being arrested in these
(35:00):
ice raids, which should have been happening for the last
four years or rewind, they should never be here in
the first place. But look what the reaction is. Right now.
You've got Newark's mayor having a press conference. You've got
a lot of big city mayors doubling down on sanctuary
laws and we will protect our residence. You're gonna sit
(35:22):
here and tell me you're gonna protect somebody who raped
a woman or murdered or raped a child. This is
who you're gonna fight for and they will and they are.
Now these are the worst of the worst. Just imagine,
because it will happen. There's going to be an iconic
photo of a child here illegally whose illegal immigrant parents
(35:52):
are going to be detained for deportation. And there's gonna
be a photo of some crying mom uh and some
crying child being ripped apart, and that will be determined
over the next several years. The media's playbook. That is
going to be the image they're gonna want to show
(36:12):
you over and over and over again. So the heartstrings
get pulled and the public relations gets fired up, and
the left starts doing what the left does well, deceive, deflect,
outright lie. But they own a lot of the media
(36:34):
and they know how to play that game, and they're
going to use that little child or that little teary
eyed mama, and that's what they're going to try to
do to turn public sentiment around about not going after
illegal immigrants. And these raids have gone so far, you know,
(36:56):
this is what they're gonna do. This is the easy
step right now, and it's not even that easy. The
progressives are already pushing back. You know, I watched CNN
and MSNBC the day of the inauguration and the next morning,
and I'm like, it's a time warp. I'm saying to myself,
(37:16):
what year is this? Is this twenty six, twenty seventeen.
They picked up exactly where they left off. They have
not forgotten a thing. Trump arrangement syndrome popped out very quickly.
So if you think it's going to be a very
easy four years because we won, no, Oh my god,
I'm all of a sudden, I'm watching the monitor in
our in our in our studio here as I'm speaking,
(37:40):
and I pop up on Newsmax. They go to something
recorded earlier on my show. Very strange, but that's what's
going to happen over the next four years. You gotta
stay strong, all right. We got a lot of calls
to get to one hundred and three two, one zero
seven ten. Let me sneak in another call here, Walter,
I'm pauling, how are you Walter in Dutchess County? Go ahead, Walter, Hi.
Speaker 6 (38:11):
Rob, Just just a reminder that Gerald Ford pardon Richard
Nixon with Richard Nixon not having been charged with anything, correct,
and in fact, he never was charged with anything.
Speaker 4 (38:24):
Correct, And I think and that and that stood, and
I think that was a very unique circumstance in that
this was the president of the United States, and I
think that for the reasons that Ford did it, and
he paid the price by the way, he lost and
Republicans got swept out. But you're right, that president was set,
(38:45):
but in a very different way and a very unique
president to former president. So yes, does the president have
the unequivocal authority to do blanket pardons? I guess so.
But I think we're gonna find out at some point,
(39:08):
I think of the Supreme Court eventually, And maybe it's
on some of these pardons right now that that Biden
did you know pardoning?
Speaker 6 (39:15):
What?
Speaker 4 (39:16):
How could you pardon something when when there's nothing to pardon?
Maybe that's the thing. I don't know. We'll find out.
One zero seven ten, I gotta I gotta do Portchester's
Nissan City. So again, if you're looking for a Nissan,
this is this is it Nissan City in Portchester. They
have the full inventory of pre owned cars. We used
(39:39):
to say use, but that doesn't sound good, Like you
picture somebody else's stains there or cigarette smoke. You don't
want that pre owned, they smell nice pre owned cars
and new cars of course, all the types of vehicles
that you would want. And of course if you're looking
for a lease or just outright by it or maybe
finance it, they've got the rates, they know what they're
(40:00):
talking about, and they're trustworthy. So if you're looking for
a Nissan, then you can pick anyone. I'm sure where
you live, but you know what, you got to shop around,
and you don't even have to drive all the way
to Portchester if it's inconvenient for you, just go to
online to Nissan City and Wide dot Com. Toyota cityenyd
(40:21):
dot com is their sister station. Sister say station, because
I'm looking at all our little emblems of our radio
stations under the iHeart banner. But their sister what we
call it dealership. I guess they know. They don't say dealerships.
They like to say shops or stores. But anyway, go
to Nissan City, Nissan Cityenwide dot Com, Nissan cityen Wide
(40:45):
dot Com for transparency, efficiency and respect. One and three
two one zero seven ten. Rob Astorino will be right back.
Speaker 1 (40:54):
It's the rob Astorino Show on seven ten.
Speaker 4 (40:59):
Woo you know one world leader you got to follow
is Javier Malay from Argentina. He is fantastic. He's got
the crazy hair, the longside burns, but he is He's
like the Donald Trump. They call him of South America.
Not sure if that's fair or not, but this guy
has a big set on him. And he was just
in Davos, Switzerland, where all the hoity toity, you know,
(41:21):
these billionaires who think they rule the roost, they were
given a nice little spanking by this guy. He spoke
yesterday and he basically looked at them all in the
eye and he just went after the leftist agenda on transgenderism,
on how it's infected the human brain, and how we
(41:45):
have to stop pretending and the reality that we've had
to deal with over these last few years of pretending
that you know, a man who says he's a woman
is actually a woman, and it's he was so refreshing
and really good. Go find that speech on YouTube from
(42:06):
yesterday and Davos. He's he's done this before, but this
guy is really really good. One and one hundred three
to one zero seven ten. Rob Astreno here on the
Rob Astreno Show. Make sure you know you could you
could always listen to us live on the radio or
on seven ten wor dot com. And if you don't
(42:27):
have the iHeart app on your phone, like what the heck,
make sure you get it. It's free, and you could
listen to the show. Or you can go back and
listen to the podcasts of all of our previous shows,
including about four weeks ago I think it was with
Eric Adams, who is right here in studio for the
full hour, or this show. You can forward it to
(42:47):
a friend like, hey, did you hear this? All right,
let's go back to the phones here Terry and Yonkers.
You're on seven ten WRH.
Speaker 9 (42:57):
Hi Rob tremendous Fanny show. I have everybody at work
listening to you. And the fourteenth Amendment, when they look
at the writings of the senators who actually wrote the
bill for the amendments of burnt Rights staships, they're clear
that it is not anybody who is illegally in the country,
(43:17):
or diplomats or anybody who has an allegiance to a
foreign country will not receive burt right citizenship. So the term,
you know, subject to the jurisdiction of is going to
be the key term. And when those jurists now in
the Supreme Court eventually get this, and they will it
probably expedited. They're going to read what the Senate is wrote.
(43:38):
It meant that, we know, scholars, I'm a former historian.
It was meant to legalize people who were slaves or
former slaves or their children to be citizens. It was
not meant to be a giant refugee camp for people
to just come here. We know there's a tourist visa
scan that goes on where people just flying with a visa,
they give birth and they leave a couple of weeks later.
(44:00):
And people should know an American citizen has to live
in the United States for fifteen years before they can
run for president. So technically they could leave the country
as a baby, grow up in some crazy foreign country,
established residency here fifteen years, and run a president that's
down the road when this country really goes hey wire
and bananis.
Speaker 4 (44:21):
Now great point, yep, absolutely great point. And I think
what would happen if it went to the Supreme Court
is they would say the executive order cannot stand. However,
Congress can determine through legislation how they define that and
how they define a citizen. That is very possible. Dave
(44:41):
in Westchester. You're on seven to ten wr Hi, Dave Hi.
Speaker 12 (44:47):
As far as the pardons go, I don't think those
are going to list because you compare them earlier to
the one with the President Ford Bonding Nixon that was
never brought up to the Supreme Court because nobody ever
fought it. In this case, it's going to be fought,
so we'll have a different outcome.
Speaker 4 (45:05):
I believe that's a good point. That's a very good point.
It was allowed to stand, but it wasn't challenged. At
some point there they're very well, maybe challenges to these
preemptive pardons. So we'll say, let's go to Kevin in
Greenwood Lake. I believe Kevin.
Speaker 10 (45:24):
Hey, good afternoon, Rob. How are you good. Yeah, I
just had a quick antidote.
Speaker 9 (45:31):
I was working.
Speaker 10 (45:31):
I worked for the NYPD and I was working the
Trump rally back in November at Madison Square Garden and
I was where I was posted was the VIP entrance
on Eighth Avenue and right there is an exit from
(45:54):
from the train station. Yeah, so we were we were
kind of laughing that we're you know, they had to
protect the A list people that were going into the rally.
Meanwhile the a list of the crazies were coming out
of Penn Station out on to the sidewalk. So it
was like like a big, big night and day difference.
(46:19):
But unfortunately, you know, it is what it is. We
only you know, we can only help people that want
to be helped when it comes to the emostly disturbed people.
Speaker 4 (46:30):
Yeah, no, well, and thanks for the call, I appreciate it,
But there's a there's a fine line. Yes, they're adults
and they have the right to refuse treatment if you will,
but I also have a right to be protected and say,
you know, and and safe from from people who may
do me harm. And that's the balance. So you know,
New York City has different laws in other places. You know,
they used to and and probably should take them off
(46:54):
the streets, take them out of this public place. They
don't have a right necessarily to be there unless they're
shopping or waiting for a train, but to basically have
a residency there with a sleeping bag and and bother
me and maybe even make it an unsafe atmosphere. No,
I don't think they do have a right two one
(47:14):
zero seven ten, I am let's see running out of
time here, but let's go to Scott in the Bronx. Scott,
how are you No?
Speaker 5 (47:24):
So I'd recommend it to anyone because it's it's a
devastating examination of the cultural Marxism that's in the media,
that's in our colleges and universities, how it's just really
undermining the culture, how it's actually pervading our political system.
It's a devastating critique. And again it's a cultural critique
(47:45):
by doctor Kevin McDonald.
Speaker 4 (47:47):
No. Good to know. I appreciate you letting everybody know that. Yeah,
And a good friend of mine, I call my uncle
Michael Peter Lukazy. He had given me the books on
you know, Karl Marx and all this to read because
it's important that we know what their playbook is. They're
very good at what they do. The left is very
(48:09):
very good, and they use things like TikTok and other
social media, which wasn't available one hundred years ago, but
now it's it's so much easier to do it that way.
And they're really infecting the minds of so many of
our Americans who don't see the dangers as legal immigrants do.
That came from like Venezuela or Cuba or other countries
(48:31):
that have just gone completely south off the deep end
and are dangerous. Anyway, I'm sorry there were so many
people call in normally, like Sondra and Jeff and and others.
I appreciate you that you're calling in. I'm sorry I
didn't get you this week. We'll put you to the
top of the list next Saturday. So thanks for listening in, folks.
I am here every Saturday at four o'clock. Make sure
(48:54):
you mark it down, put it in your little Google calendar.
And I just saw a Staten Island councilman, Joe. He's
going to resign after ten years. He's a great guy, Joe.
I know him for a while and he's been a
terrific minority leader in city councilman. So congrats to Joe
for a great job he did, fighting the good fight
(49:16):
against those lunatics in city Hall. I'm back next Saturday,
four o'clock and on Newsmax from one to three every Saturday,
so make it an Astarino Saturday. Have fun in the
games tomorrow. Enjoy Go Buffalo, Go Washington.
