Speaker 1 (00:00):
For those of you listening to us on the iHeartRadio app,
make sure you tap that follow button and allow your notifications.
It's Austin's eighty station one oh three point one. You guys,
ever stumbled upon a naked person in the wild, like
you're just out mining your own business, just doing your
own thing, and all of a sudden, whoa naked person.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
In a place they're not supposed to be naked?

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Yes, exactly, Well no, and yeah, in my case, it can.
It's kind of it's okay to be naked there. Why
where I saw them? But anyway, here's what happened. I
went down to Port Ransis for the weekend and went
fishing in Port Aansis and had a great time.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
I just I love Port Ransis.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
It is what it is, and any way to put it,
it just is what it is.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
They should have that as their slogan on some apparel.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
Yeah, I mean, and it's always that. It hasn't gotten
changed it all over the years.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
No, I mean, if you're going to Port Ransas and
you're expecting white eaches in like dustin Florida or something,
this ain't it.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
I mean, it's not that at all.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Anytime they build it up, it gets knocked down. It's
just it's got its charm.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
It does.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
I don't know how those stores stay open, those Chotsky
stores that they must sell a lot of shark teeth.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
I mean, yeah, I mean you've been there with your daughter.
You go in, you're gonna leave with something, right.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Yeah, you're gonna buy a shirt. You're gonna buy a something.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Not to divert from his story, because I do want
to hear where you saw this naked person. But it's funny.
I took my daughter to Surf Expo last year in
Orlando and it's a big It's the giant trade show.
They do it twice a year for all things surf apparel,
all those things. There is a huge section at the

(01:52):
Surf ex Bo that sells all that Chotski crap. Oh.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
The stores, Oh, they're like the whole sell there's a whole.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
And I was like, that's where they get all that.
It was like the biggest epiphany ever like there, because
I used to go in there and think, who's curating
all this?

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Right?

Speaker 2 (02:14):
They buy it by the box of you know, by
the crate, you know.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Anyway, So I'm down at Port of Ransas and a
friend of ours let us have their place there in
a place called Palmela Beach, which is kind of a
really cool beach resort housing living master planning community. They
got like two swimming pools. It's like a resort, but
people own the homes. And there's a little night whole

(02:39):
golf course there in beach access and everyone cruises.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Around and the souped up golf carts right.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
And so we were there, and uh, it was kind
of in the evening, and I just had gone for
a walk and I was kind of checking out the stuff.
We were on the golf course and looking around and stuff.
And I'm just walking back and kind of minding my
own business. My buddy Scott's hanging out by himself. And
I walked by an open garage door and I look
into the garage and when I look, there is a

(03:07):
butt naked woman in her garage, washer dry in the garage.
I don't know, but all I know is that it's
very disarming when you see someone naked, like whoa, you know,
It's like she was like oops, and I'm like how
you know what I mean? I saw for maybe a second,

(03:30):
but it was full frontal naked and the upside of
this is normally, normally when you see someone in the
wild naked, it's not someone you want to see naked.
In this case, was very good, very pleasant to make

(03:51):
it in the wild.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
Yeah, he takes she wanted to be seen naked, because
that's what I was going to say. That's not a mistake.
Anyone makes her open garage door. Was she facing like
what was she doing?

Speaker 1 (04:08):
I think what she was doing is that she was
probably had been to the beach and was taking off
her bathing suit outside. She went track a bunch of
sand and stuff inside, and she forgot for a second
that she was naked with her garage door open.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
That's what I think thought happened, But it was.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Have you guys ever had just doumbled on someone naked
in the wild.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Now to your point already, I've I've you know, living
close to downtown, I see naked people alive, not the
people you want to see.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
Your old neighbor at the Pecan the r.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
V Oh yeah, yeah, I used to keep an airstream
at Pecan Grove RV Park And what was his name?

Speaker 3 (04:52):
One of the one of the clowns right was at the.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
It wasn't one of the clowns. It was an old guy.
And whenever younger when I mean everyone was younger would
come over because we would hang out out front, you know,
patio style and just chill and have drinks and whatever.
He would he would just robe and just walk around
and his harvy it was up. It was one hundred

(05:20):
percent by design. He wanted to be seen there. That's
so funny.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
What about you, Tricia.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
I don't think so. I mean, I don't think so.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
The core memory that I had was when I was
a tiny Atricia at Barton Springs and I was in
the bathroom and I came around the corner and accidentally
walked into the area where you could tan naked but
not down by the pool, and there were like three
ladies naked laying in there, and I was all it
was small, you know, but I mean, like just out

(05:54):
walking around somewhere.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
I don't think so.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
What about that guy, that old guy that you went
on a date with that was getting divorced.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
Oh yeah, So I was in my twenties and I
went on a date with a guy who was in
his fifties name this old guy, and he was getting
a divorce he lived in a studio apartment, so it
was just one room.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
Right. We went to dinner, we came back and walked in.

Speaker 4 (06:19):
The only place to sit was on his bed, So
I awkwardly sat on his bed and I just kind
of looked around, and in about a half a second,
when I looked back to him, he was completely naked.
He had shed his clothes in like a half a
sack second. I was still completely dressed. And it was
our first and I was all.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
His name, Louis k. I was like, you know, I
think I'm going to go ahead and go.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
As I closed the door, he stood there naked.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
It was our first date. Wow, barely knew the guy. Yeah,
but I was like, how did he get naked so fast?
It was so fast?

Speaker 1 (06:59):
How how did he feel like when the door's shut
and he's standing there naked?

Speaker 3 (07:04):
Yeah, because he's going so stupid.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
Maybe yeah, maybe I should wait a little longer next time.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Yeah, it was so weird.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
Won't be seeing her again? Right?

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Nope, that's that. It's the JB and Sandy Show. Thanks
for being with us coming up. I thought this would
be kind of fun. I came across this list and
we don't do a lot of lists on this show,
but it's a list of celebrities that are nice according
to people that have actually met them, not the paparazzi,
not other celebrities, just regular people that have met him

(07:39):
and looking at it, Jamie, you and I have had
an interaction with a few of them, and not all
of them, but a few of them. So I thought
we'd share that with you and share some other stories
about our encounters with them, So stay with us. That's
coming up on Austin's eighty station one o three point one.
April is such a great month that it starts with
a joke. Who doesn't love of that? Hey, it's Sandy.

(08:01):
And you know what else? I love my friends Scott
and Stacey Feller and their team at Kingaroof. They're great
people who take care of all of my roofing needs
and they've done it for years. Trust me, you want
good people when it comes to working on your roof
in Scott and Stacy they've earned their reputation for honesty, integrity,

(08:21):
and quality craftsmanship. They're great people. They give back to
the community, even if they don't like me talking about it,
trust me, I like to brag on them.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
They don't like it when I do.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Kangaroof has been serving Central Texas families for twenty five years.
Their teams are incredibly professional and they always stand behind
their work no matter what kind of crazy weather Central
Texas throws our way. That's just part of the reason
that Kangaroof has so many five star reviews from so
many satisfied customers.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
So give Scott and Stacy a call. They'll hop to it.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
You'll see for yourself why kangaroof is the best roofing
company in town. Find them online at call kingaroof dot com.
I mean, your first champ's coming up at nine celebrities
that are really nice according to people who have actually
met them. We've had some interaction with some of these
people on the list, and we'll get to it in

(09:14):
just a second. But first, a long time Austin staple
is going to be changing names because they sold right.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Yeah, and I say long time, twenty years ish been
in Austin terms. That's a long time because everything's new.
But I was just reading about it. Yeah, Tom's market
sold all the markets because Bill toms Thhom is retiring,
is he really?

Speaker 3 (09:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (09:39):
And you know, if you're not don't spend a lot
of time in central Market. It was it just was
such a cool place. There's one right by our neighborhood,
and I'm in Travis Heights on the Riverside that I
go to all the time. You mentioned previously on the show.
I used to keep my airstream at Pecan Grove and
there was one right there on Barton Springs, and I just.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Think, AJB hang on real quick. I think people might
be a little confused. You said spend much time in
central Market. I think eve in Central Austin.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
Oh, Central Austin. Sorry, yeah, I had the market on
the brain. But both of those in particular, and then
there were a couple more that he sold, But those
two in particular were like shady convenience stores, like bars
on the window, nasty before he got him, like you
just didn't even feel comfortable going in there. And it

(10:29):
was just a cool market. They would, you know, just
curate good stuff from all over, like high end, higher
end products. It was like a.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
Tiny central market. It wasn't just a convenience store. They
had really cool stuff in there.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
And so he's retiring and I got to know him
when I was at the one on Barton Springs a
lot cool guy, like I always just thought he was
so coo. Well he's still here, so he's still cool.
He's just retiring. But you might remember this. So before
he decided to become this grocer, you know, this, this
small grocer, that's the term. Look it up, he he

(11:08):
used to be in the record business, which obviously got disrupted,
and I think it was do you remember, I think
it was Hastings Records, and yes, yes you would remember that.
Oh yeah, that's right, Trishy, where you spent a lot
of time in San Marcos too, in Texas state that
he used to be in the record business and that
went industry went belly up except for maybe Waterloo Records.

(11:33):
And he's like, oh crap, what am I going to do?
And his I don't know if it was his. I
think it was maybe his grandfather that was a grocer,
and he said, I think I'm going to give this
a shot. And what a cool thing. Well he did
it very well. Yeah, oh and we'd live and die
by that place. And so he sold them all, bundled

(11:54):
them all up, and saw him and he was retiring.
But I heard they're changing the name, which is like
that's a bad idea, right, Why the name recognition is huge, Yeah,
because yeah, you know what you're getting when you're going
to a Tom's Market. But I don't know. It could
be I don't know.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
Who bought it.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
It could be uh like Royal Blue, which are that
they and they have a good brand name too. Yeah,
so maybe that's it. I don't know. For the longest
go ahead, I was just say, you know, I'm happy
for him. It was just always such a great place,
and he's always hired great people, and you know, it
was just it was just nice convenience store experience, if

(12:35):
there was such a thing.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
The longest time, I thought that Tom's Market was the
same guy that did Tom's Shoes.

Speaker 3 (12:45):
I did, I really did.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
I thought it was the same guy because for some
reason I thought Tom's Shoes started in Austin too, But
I don't think it did that. Those are the people
you buy a pair of shoes. They were like one
of the first ones to do the buy a pair,
give a pair thing.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
Yeah, I think that guy isn't Nat saying I can't
remember his first name is. His name is not Tom,
it's something else. But his last name is Mike. Coskey.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
How do you know that?

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Because I know his sister Page. I've uh been on
the lake with her. She started Aviator Nation and expensive
rainbow retro looking clothes. Yeah, and there's a store on
sal she started that. Her brother started Tom's Shoes. Entrepreneurial

(13:34):
family's right, I think, wow, both like bazillionaires. Oh.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
I hope they keep the name, and I hope they
keep the little the lady that the swimsuit lady under the.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
Sign right, the cowgirl the.

Speaker 4 (13:51):
Cowgirls in the swimsuit standing underneath the sign.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Very Barton springs, very springs.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
Yeah. Yeah, good for him, though, you're right, like your antitude,
happy for him. We're retiring. He solely did a great
job and he's just moving on right. Yeah, yeah, you
know what, I think we'll save this celebrities that are
nice according to people that have met him.

Speaker 3 (14:11):
We'll save that for tomorrow. You guys cool with that?

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (14:14):
Sure? All right?

Speaker 1 (14:15):
