Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're waking up with six in the morning. Tis all right?

Speaker 2 (00:05):
It's the super Bowl of radio and music this weekend
with the Grammys. And I found a list of artists
that have Grammys versus don't have Grammy. So I brought
Sarah and we're gonna play a little game this morning.
It's that's your music knowledge on who has Grammys and
who doesn't.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
First morning, and Happy Friday, by the way, really need
it to be the last day of January. Okay, he's
been going on for an entire year. And God.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
The theme song to Cincinnati we love bridges around here?

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Does Adele have a Grammy? Yes or no? Absolutely multiple?
Grammy sixteen should be exact as she should. Okay, here
we go. Let's see who this was? Selena Gomes Grammy

(01:03):
yes or no? Our crying queen. I do not think
she has a Grammy.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Correct, she doesn't, but she has a lot of hits
and she's Bessie's with Taylor Swift, who will be at
the Grammys this weekend presenting.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
I thought they're please perform the aerostour.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
I don't think that the Tortured post apartment is going
to win a lot this weekend. Really, I think it's
definitely nominated, But I don't think we see her sweep
the categories like she typically does. I think that there's
other way better music up against her.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
I don't know. I was actually listening to that on
my way in this morning.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Ironically, you're truly the only person still listening to Torture
post apartment.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
They they not like us, They not like us. Kendrick
Lamar Grammy, Yes or no?

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Our super Bowl halftime performer, Yes, with the Grammys.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Seventeen to be exact, looking forward to that performance next Sunday.
I think I'm more curious than anything.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
I think the good he's bringing sizza with them, some
other surprise guests.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
All right, here we go.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
If you were just walking into this, we found a
list of artists that have Grammys verses that don't Beyonce Grammy,
Yes or no?

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Are Queen hoping that she's coming to Cincinnati? Yes she
has Grammys.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
Yeah, she's actually like the most nominated. She's got twenty
nine Grammys. Allright, we got some for at least one
more here, Okay, damned.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Yes, Okay, Fergy, Yes, Fergie has definitely one Grammys.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Yes she has, but.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
I think she won them with the Black Eyed Peas
and not necessarily solo because of you know.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
But they would have never won them without.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Her, and we just you know that, you know, we know,
we know her from this.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
She'll never Rammies for Fergie.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
All Right, one more, I want to play one more
and see if we can get this one.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Came in the US and she made it very well
known during her performance that she had gotten a Grammy for.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Flowers and that was her very first Grammy last year.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
Which is wild because Miley Cyrus is incredible. She should
have all the Grammys.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
Jonas Brothers no Grammy, Snoop Dog no Grammy, Bob Marley,
no Grammy.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
I still listen to that music all the time. All Right, Sarah,
thank you very much. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
You're more than welcome to Colin with your predictions on
who's going to win Best New Album five win, three, seven,
four nine, one O seven one.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
That's probably the biggest.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Category that we're going to talk about today. That Song
of the Year, Record of the Year. All three of
those are up for big ones on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
We'll get to that next. Cincinnati's number one. That was
a good one.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
So we're in the midst of talking about Best New
Artists at the Grammys.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
The Grammys are kind of like our souper here in music, right.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
I misspoke a couple of minutes ago and I had
said best New Album. And I'm glad you guys were
able to decipher that my brain. I'm neurodiversion, so sometimes
my brain and my mouth do not match up. So
I'm glad that you were picking up what I'm putting
down that I really meant Best New Artists. That's probably
the biggest category for this year, and we're taking some
of your predictions.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
Although she has amazing competition, I think that Sabrina Carpenter
deserves to take everything Best New Artists, Best New Album,
best everything. She came in and took no prisoners. I mean,
miss ma'am shouldn't win it all.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Oh good call on that one. I think she is
gonna win big this year. Thank you for the talk
back with Tiff. When you search Kiss on the iHeartRadio app,
you two can leave me voice notes and talk about
your predictions. You'll see the microphone and the top right
hand corner there.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Just hold that down. So who's nominated? First of all?

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Sabrina Carpenter, Chapel, Roon Dochi, Benson Boone, Shaboozie Ray, and
Teddy Swims. Now, how does someone become eligible for Best
New Artists Because I'm pretty sure Sabrina Carpenter was doing
mall performances the Kenwood Mall like six years ago, so
she's not technically new. The requirements are you have to

(05:17):
have at least five singles and no more than five
albums at the time of eligibility. Okay, so the numbers
matchup for Sabrina Carpenter right. The eligibility period for this
year's Grammy goes back to like September of twenty twenty
three to August of twenty twenty four, and if you
remember Espresso and Short and Sweet, her album came out

(05:39):
in August, early August, so she probably timed that out
to make sure that she hit the eligibility for this
year's Grammys.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Of course, we know where we love it, you know.
Oh oh, okay, well who cuts off Sabrina Carpenter.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
Scene.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
You guys voted that as the Tiff in the Morning
Song of Summer, so I could see her real being
one of the top one or two contenders for this. Now,
how else, if you've got the albums and you've got
the singles, what else plays into eligibility factors outside of
the numerical thing.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
You have to have mainstream.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
You have to have mainstream, you have to have you
have to be made a difference somewhere in the music
community to get nominated for that. And that's why I
think her stiff competition is also going to be Chapelarone,
who is came into the scene real hot this summer. Okay,

(06:45):
one more artist that's nominated is Ray. You'll remember this
song from probably almost three summers ago. This is called
Escapism X Junk Kiss jumped Up because I was on
the same day. You remember that song right, if you
go back and look it up, it's called Escapism.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
That's nominated. But it didn't come out.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
That song came out like four years ago, but it
got popular probably in twenty twenty two. We started playing
it in twenty twenty three. It hits its eligibility period.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Other big categories that sometimes confuse people are song of
the Year in Record of the Year, song of the
year ends up going towards producers and songwriters. Oftentimes the
artist gets a credit on it obviously because they contribute
to writing it right. And then Record of the Year
is like the bang or the hit the single.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
Does that make sense?

Speaker 2 (07:34):
You know?

Speaker 1 (07:34):
I'll have it all for you.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
A lot of nominations for Taylor, Kendrick, Lamar, Sabrina Carpenter,
Post Malone. I'll get to all those for you on
Monday morning here on Tip in the Morning.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Okay, we're just.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
A few minutes out by the way from the three
Things you need to Know to get your day started
in Sincy.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
Don't go far. We're talking Joe Burrow
