Speaker 1 (00:00):
Six thirty seven. Mister we Trow, how are you this
election day?
Speaker 2 (00:06):
How can you not be fantastic today?
Speaker 3 (00:08):
I'm proud to be an American.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
I get to vote you.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
Bet you me too. I love election day. That's why
I don't vote early. Well, we voted early one either
when I was going to be out of the country
and I had a new absentee ballot. Otherwise I like
going down there and getting my hands dirty, so to speak.
In fact, I'm already getting reports. Damien just wrote the
most people I've ever seen in line at Monclova Elementary.
(00:34):
It's wrapped around the parking lot of fantastic Earl Check ten.
Speaker 4 (00:40):
He's in line at Rogers High School.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
He's been in line since five point fifty this morning. Wow,
there's about two hundred people in line and it's increasing quickly.
So the turnout's going to be very, very busy today.
That don't let that sway you.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
Okay, Now stand on line, however long it takes.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
That's right, Get out and vote anyhow. Now Wall Street
is going to be responding to all of this, of
course too. So a bigger turnout might actually help us
because head of election Day yesterday.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
It's been a pretty manic week.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
We've got the Fed and coming up, we got reports
coming in today. We got the election today, So yesterday
they kind of drifted around a little bit. All three
indices ended lower. Give me some details on what happened.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Yeah, right, we started off with the futures pointing up
yesterday just like they are today, but they finished down.
The DAD was down two hundred and fifty seven points,
which is point sixty one of a percent, s and
P five hundred up sixteen points, which is point to
eight of a percent, and then Natzak off fifty nine
almost sixty points, which is point three to three of
a percent. So it's pulling us down for the last
couple of weeks here, but it's these are not big moves.
(01:51):
I mean, if we look at the if we look
at the five day the SMP is only down one
point nine percent. That it's up for the year close
to nineteen. So we've had a good year. We're getting
a little pull back. You got a lot of information coming.
We have the Fed coming out on Thursday to declare
if they're going to cut rates more or not. But
based on some of the information, it's kind of indicating
(02:13):
they might we have manufacturing numbers on Friday that.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
We talked about yesterday, but again we had.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
More on yesterday and it ticked. It was what they expected,
but it's still a negative half percent. So you know,
we need things going in the right directions.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
What we need well And even after the election today,
are we going to see a response right away? You think,
because there's always you know, some of this stuff has
to settle in, and some of this is going to
be because it's emotional, going to be reactionary almost immediately.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
You're going to have a emotional move most likely. But
in reality, the still it all comes back to the economy.
What are we doing? You know, how fixed? How quick
can someone fix anything? Depends on who's getting voted in,
on what emotion you're going to take. Do you think
things will be good or bad? But again, the market's
what it is. We know where inflation's at. Will I
(03:09):
think it's more of okay' is the Fed going to
cut rates or not?
Speaker 4 (03:14):
Just to wait and see attitude.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
I guess we'll just have to wait and see and
where we know tonight or two weeks from now.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Oh yeah we won't. Yeah, we won't know tonight. I mean,
there'll be there'll be projections tonight. But like I said yesterday,
everything has to be certified and then you still have
to go January sixth and certify the federal vote in Congress.
So who were the winners and losers yesterday? What caused
us to fall down? At least a little bit that
we did fall down, Well, we had.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
A little couple in the Dow.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Now the Dow is the index that I give you,
it's thirty stocks. They took out Intel if fell two
point nine percent, Dow Chemical sent two point one. They're
getting removed from the down. They're getting replaced.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
By Sherman Williams and the.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
Video the monsters going to go in there, So that
thing could pull that thing around if it gets on
a run again. So that's pushing those in the right direction.
On the positive side, we had Box the news station
two point eight despite increasing in some of the costs,
including the news gathering. Apparently it costs a lot to
fly all over to.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
Tract the election cycle. So of course they're spending money.
But the stock was up, so must be getting more viewers.
Because I always tell people when they talk to me,
you know, it doesn't matter what station.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
You watch, you know they're going to be dramatic because
they want you to watch that show they're on so
they can increase those ad costs. They say, oh, look
how many people are watching, so they have to throw
things out. And when you come in and talk to us,
we say, let's put the blinders on and look at
reality here. What's really going on with what's you know,
the economy, the market, because you don't have to be
(04:51):
scared when you commitment.
Speaker 4 (04:52):
That's why I try to be dramatic and everything I.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Do people can't see it. But when I'm speaking in
the morning, I've got a meaning look on my face
sometimes and I'm waving my arms around, I'm shaking my
fist and everything, just so that you'll continue to listen.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
So, and I've seen you.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
What are we looking at the oil market? I understand
the crude rows again. The price of crude oil.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
Yeah, I popped about two point eight percent. It was
yesterday closed at seventy one oh three, but currently this
morning is sitting at seventy one dollars seventy seven cents.
The Ohio gasoline price is down below three. It's at
two point or excuse.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
Me two ninety seven cents, Nashal average.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Sitting at three ten cents. Your diesel is still at
three fifty six.
Speaker 4 (05:38):
All right.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
We've been hovering around.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
There for a while, all right.
Speaker 4 (05:40):
And how about abroad?
Speaker 1 (05:41):
Have they Have they taken any notice of what's happening here,
and they'll probably react to our election also, I'm sure.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
I think that's going to happen tonight, which is there tomorrow?
But they closed slightly up in the foot seat close
up twenty two.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
Points, which you know, it's kind of flat.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
The Dad's up thirty.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
Points point one six. Ka was a four hundred and
twenty one.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Remember we reported the other day it was down a lot,
but Nika was up.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
We abound to four hundred and twenty one points, which is.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
A percent up. Hang Sen was up four hundred and
thirty nine, which is two point one four and the
Shanghai whoa up ninety nine points.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
Two point five. All right, So maybe they're excited about
our elections too.
Speaker 4 (06:19):
Well?
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Sure, now tomorrow, all right, without without giving anything away
about where you land on all of this, Tomorrow is

Speaker 4 (06:28):

Speaker 3 (06:33):

the best country.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
