Philly is The Gambler. The Gambler Philly's home for all
things sports, gambling and.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Row Scatthered in the mess.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
It's like it's just said the masses.
Speaker 4 (00:25):
Then that plun destructions, desk construction, and the fields of
bodies burning.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
All the sinkyncerning.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
Thanksgiving Week and you know what that means. It's time
for the Survivors Series. Another year, another war Games takes
center stage at ww's Fall Classic, and once again we
will have a women's and men's wargames match this Saturday
at the Rogers Arena and Vancouver, British Columbia. This is
(01:08):
the Wrestling Roundtable of Fox Sports The Gambler. I am
your host, Nick McCone of the Internet, and I am
joined by my co host from the Straight Shooters podcast
and Inquirer dot Com, Vaughn Johnson. And we're also joined
by the host of the Tough Cover radio show right
here on Fox Sports The Gambler every Saturday morning, eleven
to one, Mark Henry Junior. And rounding out the roundtable tonight,
(01:32):
Roy Burton of Phly Sports Game Time Decision dot Net
and right here at the Gambler Fellas. It's the thirty
eighth annual edition of Survivor Series. I didn't believe it
until Vaughn told me right before we went on the air.
The second longest wrestling show from the WWE company as
(01:55):
a whole, only second to WrestleMania, and we got two
War Games matches, So a lot of history behind Survivor Series.
I personally love the event just because of how I
grew up watching it. One of my favorite moments is
(02:15):
the early Survivor Series elimination matches, not exactly a big
staple of Survivor Series. Now, Vaughn, I'm gonna go to
you first, my co host, what does Survivor Series mean
to you?
Speaker 5 (02:30):
I feel like I'm not the person to come to
first for this.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
I need because you're my co hosts on the streets shooters,
I need you to put it out there early.
Speaker 5 (02:39):
Because all right, So here's the deal. Survivor Series.
Speaker 6 (02:42):
It is obviously a staple on the wrestling calendar, especially
for WWE.
Speaker 5 (02:47):
Like you said, it's a second oldest pay per view
they have. It's a second pay per view they started.
Speaker 6 (02:51):
I guess Wrestling Challenge happened, but WrestleMania and then Survivor
Series right, thirty eight thirty eighth Survivor Series. A lot
of history that comes with that, a lot of I
guess nostalgia, A lot of big moments has happened over
the course of thirty seven previous editions of the show.
Of course, I think the most famous among them would
be the Montreal screw Job. Obviously, you had the very
(03:15):
first elimination chamber of Survivor Series. You had the Deadly
Games tournament in nineteen ninety eight, so much stuff, and
now we got War Games as Savivor Series. So obviously
fall tradition and it's again a staple.
Speaker 5 (03:29):
It's one of the Big Four now.
Speaker 6 (03:31):
Previously the Big five right in WWF, but now the
Big four right, because I mean, guess, King and Queen
in the Ring is back, so we'll call it Big
five now. I don't care King in the Ring is
a Big five now. However, here's my thing with Savivor Series.
If you listen to the straight Shooters, you know why
I'm going with this. You know which way I'm turning
with this car, right, And that's because Survivor Series, as
(03:53):
a name and as a.
Speaker 5 (03:54):
Match means nothing today.
Speaker 6 (03:57):
Okay, yeah, the name is on top of this post
Survivor Series, but guess what match isn't happening at Survivor Series.
Survivor Series at least as of this recording, there are
no Survivor Series matches on this show. Guess what There
weren't an yet last year show, and either they haven't
had a Survivor Series match as Survivor Series since twenty
twenty one.
Speaker 5 (04:18):
So what does that tell you? The match itself means
nothing today now.
Speaker 6 (04:22):
Thirty years ago when it first began, it meant a
lot because the novelty was still there of the fact
that you can have as many as ten wrestlers in
the ring at the same time.
Speaker 5 (04:31):
That's not or rumble.
Speaker 6 (04:32):
It's ten wrestlers five to side and you have nothing
but stars generally on each side. No jobber is allowed
as Survivor Series.
Speaker 5 (04:39):
All names right.
Speaker 6 (04:41):
And we just did the nineteen ninety Survivor Series on
the Straight Shooters and it was a fun show because
you could tell the crowd was into it. And again,
if you watch other shows around it, Survivor Series is unique.
It is fun to see all these unique potential matchups
and teams. You know, and then you get the grand
finale at the end, you got all these big name
babyfit and all these top heels potentially going at it.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
Missed a point of that show. What's that the gobblte Cooker.
Speaker 6 (05:07):
Look, I'm going past that, all right, We've got time
for the gobbledy Cooker. The point is the match itself
has been devalued over the years because we've seen that
match for one a lot, the type of match for two.
Speaker 5 (05:18):
The novelty is just gone period.
Speaker 6 (05:20):
We've seen six man tags on the regular basis in wrestling,
we've seen eight man tags. The aw specifically has trios titles,
and so there's Ring of Honor right, both have trios titles.
So the novelty I have seen large teams like that
not really there anymore. And apparently WW doesn't care and
they haven't really added any stakes to it. It hasn't
(05:41):
really evolved in any sort of way. Not to say
I'm not a fan of the match itself, and I'll
just say that there couldn't be opportunities to do one
this year to date though as we record this, there
hasn't been a Survivor Series match book. So as much
as I you know, understanding the history and the lord,
understanding the styalgia Survivor series. I don't understand why we
can't move on from the name itself. They don't even
(06:03):
use the match anymore. So if you want to call
the show war Games, or if you want to call
the show something else, have at it. I've always been
an advocate for bringing back the name Starkad. I know
they did it as a house show a while back,
but that meant nothing and it wasn't even televised, so
who cared about that? But to me, I don't know
if you want to call it Starkade, but to me,
(06:25):
calling it Starkad and having a war Games match on
a Starkate just feels right Like it feels like Dusty
Road to be put a smile on his face to
have a war Games at a star Kate, two of
his best creations on one night being showcased one night.
So that's what I would do, and that's what I
think of. Unfortunately, Survivors is changing the name to Starkad.
Speaker 7 (06:46):
So that's me.
Speaker 8 (06:48):
They took the wrong war pay per view from WCW
with World War three.
Speaker 7 (06:53):
Me give me, give me.
Speaker 6 (06:59):
Probably, uh, planning is movement right now who knows if
that might be in reality, So we can't do.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
Right. And it's funny that every year it was World
War three for WSEW they didn't do like World War four,
world War five?
Speaker 2 (07:12):
Right right, It's just.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
Gonna stick with three because that's whatever gonna happen right
going on?
Speaker 5 (07:16):
You know, in.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
Survivor Series season, I always watch the early Survivor series.
My first one was the nineteen ninety Survivor series and
we did a deep dive on that literally just last
week on The Straight Shooters. So huge, huge fan of
that nostalgia rush when I watch it. Obviously ninety one
as well. Ninety two had one Survivor Series match, ninety
(07:41):
three back to the regular format pretty much. Ninety four
you had Backland versus Brett Hart. I was like, wi old,
I remember watching that, kind of freaking out, like how
could Brett lose the title? Roy? Are you?
Speaker 7 (07:55):
Are?
Speaker 3 (07:55):
You? Do you watch the old Survivor series and anticipation
for survivorsies the way I do? Or you just kind
of like do you feel like Vaughn it's not as
important on the w calendar anymore.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
I mean, I think it's still important. Well to answer
your first question before last year. Just yeah, but yeah,
just answer your first question. I don't go back in
the archives and watch.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
The That's what hardcore.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
Cicos like you and Vaughan, I mean, that's what you
and Mark Henry Junior to be.
Speaker 5 (08:26):
I do it for the podcast. I don't do this
with my leisure time, all right.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
I think it requested I wake up at three am Peacock.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
That's what exactly exactly Netflix. But yeah, but just like
it doesn't I understand Vaughan's Vaughan's point in that Survivor
Series itself like doesn't hold the same weight as far
as like the way it used to. And the fact
of the matter is, you know, the Marketer and me
kind of pushes back because, like, like you mentioned, like
you know, it's thirty thirty eight, thirty nine years of this.
(08:55):
So when you have that much brand equity in a
name like Survivor Series, you're gonna use that name regardless,
even if you call it Survivor series, colon, you know,
war games or whatever. And I think I think there's
value in that brand. But just to kind of, you know,
kind of dovetail on one of the points of one
made about this not having stakes. I think if you
go I don't say, I think if you go back
to twenty nineteen, that was one of the more interesting
(09:17):
Survivor series when you had the whole NXT. I don't
want to call it an invasion, but you kind of
had the triple threat kind of thing where you wanted
to make NXT, like, you know, elevate the status of NXT.
I think that's a really good idea if you want
to do the Savivor series thing, if you really want
to like lean into the Survivor series like what's the
best brand, you know, who's the best out there or
whatever like that, I would probably lean more into that
(09:39):
and bring up, you know, have some of those guys
from NXT, or guys and women I should say from NXT,
you know, like showcase themselves on this stage with the
throw on SmackDown talents, because that was nothing for nothing.
I think that was a pretty one of the better
Survivor series of recent memory. You had, you know that
the Keith Lee Roman Reigns moment that you know, people
talked about for for a while. Adam Cole so hot
(10:00):
back then, and he had a whole bunch of young
up and coming NXT talents who are now on the
main roster have really good showings that night too. So
if you want to do something different with Survivor series
and you know, not just make it, you know, war
games under a different name, I'd probably go I'd probably
lean more towards having a triple threat kind of thing
with NXT.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
Yeah, I feel like, ok ahead.
Speaker 8 (10:24):
I feel like that era had a lot of the
like they would do the WWE Champion against the World
Heavyweight Champion or whatever, the Universal Champion as well.
Speaker 7 (10:32):
I feel like I did like that era.
Speaker 8 (10:34):
I feel like twenty fourteen with Dolph where where he
had his big moment and Sting came out. Obviously, that's
probably like my personal favorite as a as a long
time Dolph Ziggler Stan. There's not many of us left,
but I think that's they figured out a way in
twenty fourteen to have a storyline play in the Survivor series,
(10:55):
like the Authority.
Speaker 7 (10:57):
It worked out.
Speaker 8 (10:57):
Whether we you know, whether the whole storyline was great
or not, and that's up for debate, but they figured
out a way to make a five on five Survivor
series match fit within the storyline of it didn't just
feel like, oh, it's the time on the calendar for
SmackDown and Raw to pick five guys to go against
each other. I mean it's I guess it's hard to
do every year, but I mean they're kind of doing
(11:19):
it anyway with wargames. They're kind of figuring out a
way to shoehorn in a four on four or five
on five rivalry into a war game situation.
Speaker 7 (11:27):
But you guys are right. I feel like wargames should.
Speaker 8 (11:29):
Be its own thing at a Halloween Havoc or Starkad
or whatever WCW branding you want to use, and Survivor's
shopies should go back to being you know what it
should be.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
Roy, you were talking about twenty nineteen is that wasn't
that the year they kind of back backed into the
NXT because there were travel issues. Was that they were
coming back from Saudi Arabia and they kind of were
stalled and nobody was at that RAW, you know, like, oh,
then there were reports out there that all or watch
(12:00):
it even though nobody's going to be there that we think,
and I remember Adam Cole showing up and everyone was
kind of like going nuts. I thought that was going
to be an every year thing with Survivor series. They
haven't done that, at least recently, so I thought that
was like, okay, like maybe this will kickstart Survivor series.
By that point, we have been doing the Straight Shooters
(12:22):
podcast for four years on. It made it known that
Sarrivo series was passe a, and I was like, oh,
like maybe this is what it needed. At least for
that year. It was a lot of fun, but then
it kind of went away. So yeah, I just don't
know why they don't include an XC anymore when it
(12:42):
comes to the Survivor series. At least they went back
to the red and blue branded you know, logo and everything.
It's like, man like, having all three involved would have
been really cool, because that's what twenty nineteen felt like
in recent memory. Obviously, last year kind of like okay,
Randy's Orton's coming back, it's whatever, and that CM punk
(13:05):
comes back and you're like, okay, Sarvivaceries means something now,
so and now this year we have the bloodline story
kind of play out at least right now. And I
had a prediction that the Rock would be the fifth
guy for Roman S team, but that didn't come to
fruition because it is cmpunk, but it's a lot more
(13:26):
interesting than it would where we were at two years ago.
When it comes to well, two years ago is a
bad example because you had the bloodline as well there
before that, you know, like it's just even the War
Games matches, we were like an NXT staple and then
it kind of got moved the Survivors series and it
was fun. You know, it's fun to relive that, especially
like War Games. Mark as I him, like, man, you
(13:51):
can't have a bad War Games match, but you know,
it's just it's just missus something. And now at least
this year we have two really big ones that we
we'll talk about in the sex segment and uh, but
I do want to say uh or ask Mark as
I asked Roy this and we heard from going Survivacery
season is it? Do you watch any of the old ones?
(14:13):
Is the way I do? Or just kind of watch
twenty fourteen?
Speaker 8 (14:19):
Yeah, I watched twenty fourteen. It's actually like a scheduled
viewing every week on Saturday nights.
Speaker 7 (14:23):
I guess I get my you know.
Speaker 8 (14:25):
Saturday Survivor Series twenty fourteen fix in there because it's
the only moment they ever let golf go over. But
besides that, there's like I actually like like the one
off like Undertaker Hogan at ninety one Survivor series for
whatever reason, that's like my favorite Hogan match of that era,
or just like Hogan Feud.
Speaker 7 (14:45):
I love that. That kind of the juxtaposition of eras
almost there.
Speaker 8 (14:51):
Survivor Series O two, you have the elimination chamber, the
first one that that's a great one.
Speaker 7 (14:56):
I kind of like when they mess around with Survivor Series.
Speaker 8 (14:58):
Which I guess go against what I just said about
war Games, And now they're messing around with it and
I'm complaining about it. But and then in ten years
when they go back to Survivor series, I'll be complaining
that they should go back to war games. But I'll
throw it back to you on wargames, Nick, because I
know you're a huge wargames guy and I'm.
Speaker 7 (15:16):
A fan when it's done right. I do feel like.
Speaker 8 (15:21):
Maybe because we had a bunch of NFT, we've had
a couple now in WWE, they do run together when
they're not super memorable. I don't know if that's fair,
And you could say that about any match. You know,
you have a bunch of hell and the sales in
one pay per view they run together a little bit.
My favorite war games that I like to go back
(15:42):
to is the Fake Sting nineteen ninety six, where they
that was the first time they didn't have everybody right
by ringside. They had him run out because they didn't
want everybody to figure out that it was fake things
standing by ringside. That wargames, I feel like that's another
example of like booking a storyline to make sense perfectly for.
Speaker 7 (16:02):
The gimmick match. But I'll throw it back to you
with what's your favorite war games? To go back to?
Speaker 3 (16:09):
Ninety seven man a year after we had and it's
weird because it's not a great match. We had the
current heading wining the Horseman Angle, and I didn't It
was one of the w cw Heyday pay per views
that I wanted to watch so bad, but I was
only allowed to get one pay per view per month.
Oh shucks, Like I can only choose wcw WWF at
(16:32):
the time. What was the September ninety seven? It was
ground zero in your house the week before and I
was like, of course I'm going to get that. It's
you know, Brett Hart versus the Patriot. Of course, the
Patriot's going to beat them. I need to see that.
So and then I spent all week trying to convince
my mom to order Fall Brawl because I wanted to
see that play out. And I was so like aggravated,
(16:57):
I think, get to see it. Watched Nitro found out
her heading turned on the Horseman the first day of
the WW network launch in twenty fourteen. That was the
first show I went to watch and on demand catalog,
and of course the first day a lot of buffering issues.
I had the same buff I called out of work
that day because I was like, I am going to
stay home and watch WW network man, And I was.
Speaker 5 (17:22):
You put that on the on the like your PTO requests.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
I had put it in long before that, because everyone's like,
the first day of the network is this, and I'm like,
who put it in my system? Got got Once it
got approved, I was like yes, And of course it
buffered like most of the day and I couldn't even
enjoy it until a few weeks later when finally they
got the kinks worked out. But turn Heading joining the
(17:48):
Horseman getting attacked in the back, coming out with the
in the sling, and then the handcuffs acted and the
announcers going nuts when he took off the sling revealed
the handcuffs, and I was like yeah, and Tony Schiavadi's
like yeah, let's go, and he hits Mango with the
handcuff and it's like no, and you just see like this,
(18:10):
and Kevin Nash said it best the death of a
horsemen in their own backyard. That should have theoretically led
to a great angle and story, it just didn't. So
I love, I love what that was supposed to represent,
but I don't love what it represented. Still one my
favorite one based on the story. The nWo the hottest
(18:30):
at the time, heard Henning being like the big free
agent acquisition. It's like man like w w F. Scott
Brett Hart and the Patriot and like DX wasn't even
a thing yet. I just I was bored with it
a little bit. Even the herp the heart foundation of
stuff was good, but I was bored by a lot
of it. So that War Games just fell perfectly in
(18:54):
my viewing timeline, and it's still one of my favorites.
I do watch it every year. We did a deep
dive on the straight Shooters and I was just like
I talked way too much about it. I'm sure. Uh
the ninety six to one was good too, We did
that as well. I still just don't understand how so
many people do not realize that wasn't standing. Like it
(19:17):
was very clear, right, like, yeah, okay, Lucker was fooled.
Speaker 7 (19:22):
He had like Lucre tricked. I mean a longtime friend.
Speaker 5 (19:26):
We were watching.
Speaker 6 (19:29):
We were watching the standing definition and at four bar
three ratio, it just wasn't meant.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
For ADP. It's a little different, you know.
Speaker 8 (19:42):
And the best part of that storyline is like Sting
didn't call anybody that week, Like then he was like,
hey man, that's not me, Like he just spent the
whole week on the road and didn't let anybody know,
Like he was a jode up that day, like I'll
show them now, it's a classic.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
Well then he goes to the locker room I think
it was before the match, and you had Anderson Rick
player and Alex lu would be like, I don't know
if I could trust you.
Speaker 7 (20:08):
Yeah, they have the.
Speaker 8 (20:08):
Whole confrontation with Lex, with Lex and Stinging and Arn
and Rickers standing there, and Rick's responsed, all of it
is just to go.
Speaker 7 (20:17):
Lex You're a mean fighting machine and that's that's all.
That's it.
Speaker 3 (20:26):
I'll throw it out there. We talked about our favorite
war games matches. Is there a favorite Survivor series match?
I guess twenty fourteen would be Marx. Is that. Yeah,
it's harder to think about the Survivor series matches because
they don't exactly mean a lot in twenty twenty four.
Speaker 5 (20:46):
But point over here, baby, I'm just listening.
Speaker 3 (20:51):
That's why most of them should come from the early nineties,
right when it was a big deal. And I will
say that first Serviceries match I ever saw it was
the Ultimate Warrior leads to the Doom and the Texas
Tornado versus Mister Perfect and Demolition. I just thought it
was amazing because I'm like, oh my God, like culture shock.
Speaker 6 (21:13):
Of all the Survivor series of matches that I've watched
and forgotten about, that's one of the ones I'll remember.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
So, yeah, you know beforehand talk about sacrifices and skeletons.
It's incredible. It's incredible. So the nineteen ninety from the
nineteen ninety strivisriies mine would be the Ultimate Warriors versus
the Perfect Team Roy. Do you have a specific one
that jumps off the page to you.
Speaker 2 (21:39):
Yes, the thing nothing really comes to mind, like I
can't really know, right, like, yeah, nothing nothing else to
kind of jump jumps to mine specifically. So yes, so
not really, but can we I mean, since we're I mean,
since we're just talking about Survivor seris in general though,
and you kind of alluded to it Nick earlier, I
think that it's not a Survivor series classic match. I
think that two thousand and twenty twenty two match, the
(22:01):
Bloodline match. I think that was a really good match.
Speaker 5 (22:03):
That's I think that total classic really.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
I mean yeah, I mean that was the the probably
the height or one of maybe one of the heights
of the Bloodline story. You know, Sammy proven his worth
to the you know, to the Bloodline and you know,
turning on Kevin Owens a stuff. I thought that was
a really good match. I mean, one probably hated it
because of the name, but no.
Speaker 5 (22:19):
No, no, I loved it.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
I think that was a I think that was a
really good I think that was a really good match. Now.
Speaker 6 (22:25):
I did a war Games ranking for a story I
wrote this time last year, and I think I had
that particular match, like second or third all time in
war games history.
Speaker 5 (22:34):
So yeah, that was a that was a classic, uh match,
in my opinion, in one of the better matches in
recent Survivor series history. But are you holding me.
Speaker 6 (22:43):
To Survivor series matches in particular or just a match
in general, just anything?
Speaker 3 (22:47):
Are you gonna say elimination Chamber?
Speaker 5 (22:49):
I mean that has to be up there, right.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
Uh. I was trying to think of it, like another
four four five on five Survivors series matching from that
before Diesel and Seawn Michael's breaking up was pretty memorable.
I love watching that.
Speaker 5 (23:06):
One, wasn't there wasn't it.
Speaker 6 (23:09):
On from like ninety four or something like that, with
like Jerry Lawler and his Nights or something like that.
Speaker 3 (23:13):
It was doointsinking. Yeah, oh god, well it was not Mary.
Speaker 7 (23:19):
Lawler, actually it was.
Speaker 8 (23:21):
It was Sewn Michaels filling for Jerry Lawler with his nights.
Don't don't go and look up why Sary Lawler?
Speaker 5 (23:29):
Yeah, paper, that's a that's a different google that. Okay,
that's a.
Speaker 9 (23:34):
Different podcast, I said, But you said the hearts, uh,
the doinks for Nightmare Fuel, the Men on a Mission
in the Don costumes and the bushwhackers and dont costumes.
Speaker 7 (23:47):
That's actual, that's nightmare fuel.
Speaker 5 (23:49):
I hated every second of that.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
And I was so confused. I'm like, stop calling them
doinks like?
Speaker 6 (23:56):
But if I had to pick a Survivor series matches
old we're all it's tough. I'm probably would go with
Elimination Chamber or that working was match from twenty twenty two.
Speaker 5 (24:06):
I thought that was really well done, and you know, yeah,
that's that's probably it, bro.
Speaker 3 (24:13):
But I do think that really nuble matches Survivor series
memories versus Summer Slam or WrestleMania, Royal Rubble, even Kank
of the Ring. You know, there's a lot of memorable
moments there. If you want to say, that's the Big
Five even money in the bank than part of the
new Big Five Survivor series. It's tough to have. It
(24:36):
looks big, it's it's tough. But I will never forget
the nineteen ninety Survivor series, so I will always watch that.
I'll probably watch it again before Thursday.
Speaker 6 (24:47):
As far as old school Survivor series, the nineteen ninety
one is a fun show to watch, I will take.
Speaker 5 (24:52):
I'll hold you to that.
Speaker 8 (24:53):
Absolutely, that's the Taker debut at ninety as well, so
that that you have that as well. The one one
I will throughout that I don't think we've mentioned it yet.
The Invasion sucks, like two thousand and one is brutal
after WrestleMania.
Speaker 7 (25:06):
Yeah, but that is a fun match.
Speaker 8 (25:08):
There's a lot of stars that you get Rock against
Austin a little bit in it there as well, and
you have just a ton of super superstars in there, so.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
I think, yeah, it's also the end of that story, thankfully.
And literally the next night everything changes its as a
heel again and Kurt Angle is like, I'm good, look
give me the title. I'm cool, Like Ric Flair comes out.
So yeah, definitely a shift. We still have to dive
into that for all the straight shooters because we started
(25:39):
our two thousand and one deep dive and we have
to finish it unfortunately, don't we at some point.
Speaker 5 (25:46):
But at least it's the end.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
Again Survivors Series. This Saturday, we got five matches scheduled.
Twenty four hours ago, there were three matches scheduled, so
they added to They added a United States Championship match
and an Intercom Animal Championship match. So we will dive
into all five matches. On the other side, we have
(26:11):
some offshore odds that we will also look at coming
up next. Right here on the Gambler.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
The Gambler, Philly's home for all things sports gambling said,
are you.
Speaker 5 (26:21):
Ready will survive?
Speaker 3 (26:51):
Welcome back to the Survivor Series Roundtable Here on Fox
Bus Gambler. We are the wrestling round Table. We got
Nick McCone, Lawn Johnson, Roy Burton, and Mark Henry Junior
and we are going to talk about the five as
we record this five Survivor series, not Survivaories matches, but
(27:12):
matches on Survivor Series. This Saturday, we will have two
War Games matches United States Championship Match. Is there another
match that was added on? I don't know. We got five? Okay,
still five. We got the biggest War Games match of
recent memory. Maybe maybe I don't know. The blood Line
(27:34):
Civil War Continues, Roman Reigns, Jay and Jimmy Usso Sammy'
Zine reunited and CM Punk, who's ostensibly doing this for
Paul Hayman versus the New blood Line Solo Socoa, Tagaloa Tomatanga,
(27:55):
Jacob Battou and Bronson Reed fellas the Love Line and
Bronson read according to the All Shorter books minus one
fifty Roman reigns, do so Sammy's Ane and Seampunk plus
one ten? Mmm, do we think the Rock shows up
number one? And do we think Solo continues kind of
(28:18):
his dominance over Roman reigns? Since SummerSlam? This has been
all Solo. So I'll go to Roy, what do you
think happens in this main event?
Speaker 2 (28:32):
So the way I have booked this in my mind
for I don't know, several months now is and and
I'll just say this because Roman and his crew have
been getting their asked with by the New Blood line
for quite some time. So every week, every single week,
somebody's eating the power bomb through a table or whatever,
and it hasn't hasn't stopped for about about a month now.
(28:53):
But anyhow, I think they get their look back. But
the way I played this out in my mind at
some point is that after the match, after Roman and
his crew get the victory, you know Roman, because the
Roman still has to do his one on one thing
with Solo at some point. But Roman and Solo have
a moment in the ring and Roman basically as Solo
(29:15):
you know who sent you? Because remember Solo is supposed
to be sent by, you know, someone else, like the Elders, right,
like the like the some other person that's outside of this.
So he was like, you know who sent you? You know,
why are you? You know, why are you doing all this?
And that's when the Rocks music hits, and that's when
the Rock comes out and you find out that the
Rock is the man behind all this. He was the
(29:35):
one who crafted this whole thing to have Solo take
over after Roman loss to WrestleMania. That's the way. That's
the way I booked it for a few months, and
I'll stick with that.
Speaker 8 (29:45):
So I want to throw something out there because I
had Pecoone on my radio show right after I think
it was right before SummerSlam where Cmpunk and Solo had
this segment where Paul Hayman came out and ask for
Stampunk to protect him and take him with him, and
how that happened. From that moment, I fantasy booked with Pecone.
Speaker 7 (30:09):
Getting to war Games.
Speaker 8 (30:11):
I thought the Rock would be on the other side
with Solo and with the new bloodline.
Speaker 7 (30:15):
I didn't think Bronson.
Speaker 8 (30:16):
Reid, but I had this fantasy book where Paul Hayman
would come back and ask for CM Punk to be
on the new Bloodline team, and Babyface Roman would allow it.
And then is when Paul turns with CM Punk and
we get a little heel Punk versus Babyface Roman feud leading.
Speaker 7 (30:36):
Out of this Survivor series period.
Speaker 8 (30:38):
If that happens, and if we can get you know,
a heal Punk turn with Paul, then I don't even
think you need Rock for this pay per view. I
feel like you're only gonna do one of those two things,
because then I think that provides a pretty clear direction
forward for Roman. I you know, I'm a nerd for
the Paul Hayman CM Punk real relationship. I loved, you
(31:01):
know that run that they had back in Punk Sold
run in w w A, and that's what I'm looking
forward to. When Punk was added to this match, my
interest level went up like double And obviously I'm a punk,
you know stand I'm a Homer, But I think that
that's so much more interesting than what if it would
have been Seth or if it would have been Cody
(31:22):
or whoever that you know potential fifth guy could have
been outside of the Rock maybel on.
Speaker 3 (31:29):
What do you think happens in this Man Man do
you agree with Roy and Mark?
Speaker 6 (31:33):
I agree with Mark in that I had my intrigue
in the match went up exponentially when Sampunk got at
it because there's so many directions they could go now,
because not only do you have Seampunk, obviously you got
Paul Haman involved, and Paul Hamen, a lot of people
pointed out, was kind of dressed sort of like Solo.
Speaker 5 (31:51):
Sakoor when he came out, which is like exactly.
Speaker 6 (31:53):
Man, that's interesting because he never wears this shirt. He
always has a suit and tie, and it was red.
But maybe he's action. You know, the old g blood line,
they all got red and black on. But so this
is the other blood line, So.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
Whose is he on? But who is the real blood line?
Speaker 5 (32:07):
Right? Oh my god, we've.
Speaker 6 (32:08):
Got bloodline versus blood line like Summer Slam ninety four
but ninety four right, yeah, yeah, But the thing and
it still feels easy if you're like, Okay, well, Roman's
gonna not Roman, Paul's gonna turn on the Roman reins
and he's gonna stay heal, because Paul Himan works better
as a heel. But I also feel like if he,
like Mark said, if he turns, he has to turn
(32:30):
with Punk, right, because it can't just work against punk.
But do we have a heel punk? I feel like
he's selling so much merch that and.
Speaker 5 (32:38):
He's still getting big reactions. Are they ready to turn
him heel?
Speaker 3 (32:42):
You know?
Speaker 5 (32:43):
Also he's got He's probably gonna have a few with Seth.
Speaker 6 (32:45):
Rollins coming out of this, maybe potentially because he hates
Roman reigns, so maybe he gets a Kevin Owens reaction.
Speaker 5 (32:52):
Maybe Seth Rollins is turning heel. I don't know.
Speaker 6 (32:54):
This is the point is there's a lot of directions
they'll go. But I also agree with Roy. I think
the Rock will show up at end of day and
reveal himself as.
Speaker 5 (33:01):
The the higher power, so he is the final boss.
Was along, I was out in the cloak and everything.
Speaker 3 (33:13):
How stupid was it? Whatever?
Speaker 6 (33:17):
That was like Vince took up the mask and it
was vinced. But I do think that that's where we're going.
And but I do think that happens after the O
G blood line wins.
Speaker 3 (33:30):
You think the OG blood line wins.
Speaker 5 (33:32):
I think I think the old blood line wins, even though.
Speaker 3 (33:35):
Simply because Roman needs like to look strong, because.
Speaker 2 (33:38):
They didn't get beat up, they beget beat up.
Speaker 6 (33:42):
But that's the thing though, Like doesn't work if they
win and the Rock comes out and maybe the Rock
is like I'm fed up with this is I gotta
do it now?
Speaker 5 (33:51):
Like I don't.
Speaker 6 (33:52):
But I feel like I just feel like there's a
lot of build up for the OG blood line to
lose with see him Punk, that'd be a lot, but
it'd be a big win for the blood lin. Yeah,
but I feel like the OG blood line is going
to win. It's too much star power star power lose
but just shines.
Speaker 5 (34:09):
Really big in this match. I think they're gonna give
a lot of shine to j u.
Speaker 6 (34:12):
So and he gets the big moment where uh he
gets to celebrate the win.
Speaker 2 (34:18):
Go add I'm sorry, I'm just saying, Solo just pin Roman,
Like I don't think like you don't have to have
Roman lose again the solo like the new Blueline wins,
who gets the pin and then who eats the pin?
Speaker 3 (34:29):
Right?
Speaker 9 (34:29):
Like I always think about a tongue and low in
the ring and.
Speaker 6 (34:37):
Potentially five former five future Hall of Famers and got
the Gorilla's destiny.
Speaker 5 (34:42):
Somebody's someone that one of them too is gonna get.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
Beat right right right right. But I'm saying it was
the other way of like the Roman Rain's Crew if
they if they had to eat the pin, like which
one of those five is gonna do it? Like, I
don't see it.
Speaker 3 (34:53):
Probably probably Jimmy, Jimmy, Jay, you know, I don't know.
I uh, I don't remember if it was Friday or yeah,
I guess it was Friday. Jimmy had said, oh, we
got it or no, it was one day. He's like, oh,
we trust Paul, like he said, Punk's fine. So it
kind of lead that, like, okay, Punk, because that was
(35:18):
playing it.
Speaker 5 (35:21):
We can trust him without life, y'all.
Speaker 3 (35:23):
He got it exactly.
Speaker 2 (35:25):
Nobody else got us.
Speaker 5 (35:26):
Paul got us until.
Speaker 3 (35:27):
He told that to Jay and Sammy, so maybe go
to sleep.
Speaker 8 (35:34):
There was also that I don't know if it was
on air, but they put it out over Socials where
after they announced Punk and they came out and they
were standing in the ring and they were roaming and
Punk were talking to each other in Roman goes, he's
my wise man, and Punk goes, we'll see. That's the
interaction they put out there. So I think it's gonna
be Punk costing them the match, which would be that
(35:57):
that would be amazing.
Speaker 2 (35:58):
Do you think it's Roman?
Speaker 3 (36:00):
Do you think it's like a plan that Punk will
do that or something? Will something happen in the match
that Punk kind of goes like WHOA, like no, and
then turns yeah, what do you think it's better? Story?
Speaker 8 (36:12):
Roman misses the Superman punched on like one of those
guys and hits Punk, and then as Roman's about to win,
Punk comes over and gts.
Speaker 6 (36:24):
Yeah, I honestly can see that something happening the match,
not a plan premeditated attack, Like something happens during the match,
and that sets scene Bunk off to see him Punk
is selfish.
Speaker 5 (36:36):
Like he would do something like that.
Speaker 3 (36:38):
It should be funny because Seth could be like, I
wouldn't have done.
Speaker 8 (36:40):
That, and then they can get a month. They can
get a month out of Willie won't he with Paul?
Speaker 7 (36:46):
Where which side is be on?
Speaker 5 (36:50):
I just feel like that's this.
Speaker 6 (36:51):
It was almost too soon to just run through that,
because you would think if you're going to get either
Rock versus Roman, that needs his time to build up
and to kind of Russian see I Punk and Roman Now,
I feel like that's something you want to take time
to build up.
Speaker 5 (37:06):
In maybe twenty twenty.
Speaker 3 (37:07):
Five, but.
Speaker 5 (37:10):
We'll see.
Speaker 6 (37:11):
It's like I said, it's all very intriguing because you
got potentially the Rock being involved. I don't think it's
known officially whether he's going to be.
Speaker 5 (37:19):
Involved in WrestleMania.
Speaker 6 (37:21):
He said last year he's coming for Cody Rhodes once
he comes back, So we haven't mentioned that at all.
Like it feels like that's kind of like they haven't
really talked about that, haven't really hinted toward that since
it's just been Rock doing Throat Slash to Cody and Roman.
I guess, so we don't know who he's talking about.
So Yeah, there's a lot of directions they can go,
(37:43):
and they're all generally good, which is.
Speaker 5 (37:46):
Which is nice.
Speaker 3 (37:49):
Taking once take the og blood line, mark who wins.
Speaker 8 (37:54):
I'll go, I'll go with the new blood line. But
it all just depends on what Romans path is going forward.
Is he going to be in the title picture or
are we going to do Rock Roman without the title
at Mania. If you do that, maybe you could probably
get like the Rumbles in a baseball stadium, right or
it's in a pretty big stadium this upcoming year, so
(38:15):
you could do Punk Roman football stadium Football Stadum. Okay,
so you could do Punk Roman at Rumble almost as
like a big non Rumble main event. You could go
with that, and then you know, it seems like they're
gonna have seen a win the Rumble and go for
the title potentially is if you look at some of
(38:35):
the odds out there. So if Roman's not gonna be
in the title picture, I'm fine with punking him, either
doing a big match leading to the Rumble or doing
like a three month few leading into Mania, if that's
where they go, if the Rock's either not coming back
or going with Cody. But I'm gonna go with the
New bloodline winning with Punk costs in the match or
Rock costing them the match, right, did.
Speaker 2 (38:58):
He got I gotta go with the oj bloodline. Yeah.
I think I think Roman and his team gets to win,
and like I said, I think at the end, Roman
and Solo have a little moment in the ring and
then the Rocks music kids.
Speaker 3 (39:11):
I think originally I was going to pick the New
Blood line just because I was like, Okay, that's how
you build you know, the Rock coming back and turn
it on Roman. But I do see the theory of Okay,
Roman needs at least a win because you know they
they matter now in w W, where seeing Roman at
least beat the new blood line is important to the
(39:34):
story and then just having it fall flat on his
face literally minutes later if the rock comes out and
they kind of sturt on Roman and his blood lines.
So I'm going to go with the OG blood line
just because I think that's a better story and I
like the story in my wrestling. I know that's controversial
in twenty twenty four, but I do think that's the
(39:57):
best story health.
Speaker 5 (39:58):
The ticket sales says all the wise, I do like that.
Speaker 3 (40:05):
So I will go OG blood line for that. So
we got three OG's one new blood line. We'll see
how it plays out. We also have a Women's War
Games match with Rhea Ripley returning. I think a lot
of people thought she'd be out for months, like maybe
even missing the Rumble because of her broke broken normal,
(40:27):
orbital blown. But she came back with a mask. How
about that. She is going to be in the Women's
War Games match with Bianca bell Air Naomi EO Sky
and I believe it's officially bailing now as Jade Cargill
is out. That was a nasty cell job she did
on Friday night laying on the car that was wild.
(40:51):
I guess that's the story in and of itself that
we will eventually find out. They are minus two hundred
against the team of Naya Jacks, Tiffany Stratton, Candice Larray,
Live Morgan and rock Hel Rodriguez. So, uh, will this
(41:12):
be you know, Riya's revenge? Will she finally get revenge
on Live and Roquel and everyone else? Or will Live Morgan,
roll Riga's Naijacks, Tiffany Stratton and Candas Lray somehow eke
outa win. Vaughan, what do you say?
Speaker 6 (41:31):
I feel like there's gonna be a He'll turn from
the supposed good guys. We don't know the fifth person
is gonna be yet.
Speaker 5 (41:38):
I don't know, but I'm predicting it's gonna be Bailey.
Speaker 3 (41:42):
That's what it says on the odds.
Speaker 2 (41:44):
Yeah, it's gonna be Bailey.
Speaker 6 (41:45):
It's gonna be Bailey, and I am predicting that it's
either Bailey or Naomi who took out Jade Cargo to
get that spot and also help themselves in the US
title tournament. Guess Jay Cargo was also a net But yeah,
That's what I'm calling here. They got the baby Babyfaces
have the advantage. It was like a prime time for
(42:07):
them to lose, even with the advantage. And that's because
somebody is going to get turned on here in the
midst of this, or something's going to happen wrong for
the for the baby Faces in my opinion, and.
Speaker 5 (42:20):
Something's going to go awry. So I'm calling for the
Heels to win.
Speaker 3 (42:26):
Mark. Yeah, who do you think the women's Word Games match?
Speaker 7 (42:30):
I agree with Vaughan.
Speaker 8 (42:31):
It looks like Bailey probably is the one who hurt
Jade Carr Gill and then probably will turn on them.
Speaker 7 (42:38):
I would assume that to be the case.
Speaker 3 (42:41):
I guess. So if she's not officially announced, they already
taped smackdowns, so that's gonna air, you know, So, I
guess technically, I don't know if it was officially announced,
but it's all the odds, so no spoilers here. It's
all the odds, So Bailey, I should say, So, Broy,
what do you think?
Speaker 2 (42:59):
Yeah, I agree with the guys. I think it's gonna
be No, I think it's there's gonna be some some
kind of shenanigans on the on the face side. I
think it's probably gonna be some some beef between uh.
You could probably get some beef between Riha and Bianca
because I think they're eventually gonna set up russell Ania
match between the two. So I think Ria and Bianca
have a little bit of beef. You know, the Heels
take advantage. The Heels win and and you know if
(43:22):
that kind of causes some some friction because again, you
can tell a lot of storylines with that because the
let's say, I don't know, Raquel Rodriguez or something gets
depend on Bianka. You know, Bianc is probably gonna to
They're probably gonna have to drop the tag belts because
Jade's hurt. So then maybe you can give the belts
to those belts to live in Raquel and they can
have the tag Belts, and then Biaka can do her
thing with Riha Ripley. So I think that leads. I
(43:43):
think the Heels winning lends itself to a bunch more
a bunch of really good storylines for the next few months.
So I think the I think the Batties. I think
the Batties pull this one out.
Speaker 3 (43:55):
I think having two Heeled teams win both war games
matches is a bad thing. So I picked the og
blood line to win the men's. I will pick the
Heels to win the women's. I agree with all of you.
And that's again, sometimes the best wrestling angles, or the
most predictable wrestling angles or vice versa, you just want
(44:17):
to see that play out because, like you can anticipate
what's coming, but it's still awesome to just see a
play out, have the crowd react to it, having the
wrestlers and commentators react to it. There's just another level
of oh yeah, like I saw this coming, but like
you still can watch it and enjoy it. You go
to the movies kind of like knowing what's going to happen,
(44:40):
that doesn't take away your enjoyment from it. So I
think wrestling is the same thing. So as predictable as
it might be, I think it's it's fine, especially at
a War Games match, where again you set up those
multiple story lines for multiple people heading out, and then
you can build in September or January, February and the
to WrestleMania. Next we have a World Heavyweight Championship match
(45:06):
with Gunther minus five thousand because Damian Priest plus twelve hundred,
I don't think I'm again. A lot of my predictions
have to do with I just don't see them losing
until they lose. That that's Cunthor for me, Like he's
just I'm never gonna pick against him until he actually
loses a big match like this is how I am
(45:29):
so odds don't really tell me anything because I was
gonna pick Gunthor no matter what.
Speaker 8 (45:34):
Mark, what do you think, Yeah, I it's I'm not
looking forward to this match at all. I've long time
been on the island. I don't get it with Damian
Pierce or Damian Priest.
Speaker 7 (45:45):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 8 (45:46):
I don't think his in ring is like good enough
to overcome how uninterested I've been in his character from
the moment I've seen him on my television screen.
Speaker 7 (45:57):
Triple H clearly is.
Speaker 8 (45:58):
In love with him and wants to be a main
inventor and has I remember his first big NXT takeover
was against Finn Balor, and like five minutes into the
match that I remember, I was complaining about the match,
saying like I don't get this guy.
Speaker 7 (46:12):
I remember Triple A s treated like he's exactly like
Scott Ole. This guy's so good.
Speaker 8 (46:17):
And from that moment on I was like, oh, this guy,
he's gonna get pushed to the moon, and he has,
and I don't think anybody's that interested.
Speaker 7 (46:25):
I don't think he's a big star.
Speaker 8 (46:26):
I don't get why he's you know, I feel it
feels like a waste of a goonther title defense in.
Speaker 3 (46:31):
My opinion, Roy, what do you think?
Speaker 2 (46:35):
Yeah, I don't really disagree with that. Yeah, this is
not the spot for Gunt to lose the title. I mean,
if anything, this is probably a spot for Finn Balaries
to run went out again and cast Priest the title,
you know, calls Priests the title again, and then I
have Damian Priest kind of you know, doubt himself, was like,
you know, am I really you know, was I really
a legit champion? You know when I had the belt
the first time? Or did I need the judgment data
to help this out? So I I five thousand, like
(46:58):
minus five thousand probably isn't high enough match, It really isn't.
Doesn't make any sense to take the belt off him
this time, So I think that's I think I think
marks out of person spot on.
Speaker 5 (47:09):
Yeah, well let's just make it a clean sweep. I'm
just gonna win.
Speaker 6 (47:13):
They've been laying on real thick as far as like
both doubting himself and like, you know, kind of slipping
a little bit at the losing to Cody Roads. He'll
find his groove. Gunta got his groove back by beating
Damian Priest. It'll happen, So Goon throw all the way.
Speaker 3 (47:29):
Yeah. I think Damian Priest has like charisma. The way
he talks on the mic is good like for wrestler,
but again, not the most interesting character on w TV
right now. So I think they're just kind of we'll
give Priest a quote unquote main events spot, and it's
a world title match, so I guess technically it's the
(47:51):
main event, right, So I think it's just kind of
one of those types of things. We also have we
have two the title matches on this car that was
so we're down three matches two to go. We got
these two were announced last night on Monday Night Row
Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat match. We got Bron Breaker defending
(48:13):
against Seamus and Ludwig Kayser. Braun is minus one thousand,
Seamus plus five fifty and Ludwig plus one thousand. So again,
Bron's kind of the guy that they gave Jay that
nice little run. But Braun is I think this era's
IC champion too, you know, until he moves up in
(48:35):
the main event status. I don't see him losing anytime soon,
maybe not even a WrestleMania whoever they decide to push.
So I'm gonna take Braun here, Vaugh.
Speaker 6 (48:45):
What do you think are there any dogs on this show?
I'm glad y'all did that. It wasn't sure that's gonna happened.
That was totally up y'all understand the assignment. I appreciate y'all,
but uh yeah, Bron Areaker is going to retain. I
don't see any reason for him to lose just yet.
Speaker 2 (49:04):
Really, yeah, I think it's the same now now. Granted,
triple threats are a great way to get a belt
off a guy you're not having pinned, But I just
don't see you know, Bron jumping up into that main
event picture like you were saying, Nick, So not not
yet anyway, So I think I think they probably run
you know what, I think Bron wins, but I think
they might run this back, you know for maybe you know,
next maybe you know, Saturday Night's main event or way rumble,
(49:26):
because I think this is a pretty These are three
guys who can probably go in the ring a little bit.
So I think Bron wins, but I think I wouldn't
be surprised if we don't. If we don't see this again,
Bron's gonna win.
Speaker 8 (49:38):
I'll take this time to say, like I get a
little bit annoyed with the long title reigns sometimes. I
think sometimes we get a little bit obsessed with a
guy keeping a belt for like six hundred days. Does
Bron Breaker feel any less important because they did a
short title reign with Jay us So to keep things interesting,
no at all, and it gave us a couple of
weeks of interesting television with fun matches that actually he
(50:00):
felt important because you saw, you know, a title change
hands on a weekly television makes you know that you
have to tune in every once in a while and
something big could happen when you tune in.
Speaker 7 (50:10):
So I get a little frustrated with the long title rains.
Speaker 8 (50:13):
If you look at like the most successful eras in
the history of the business, the title was kind of
bouncing around all the time, and nobody felt less important
like Stone Cold's longest reign of all time was like
six months long, and he didn't feel any less important.
He was the biggest star in the business. Not that
you know the Icy belt with bron breakers comparison to that.
But I think sometimes we get a little too bogged
(50:37):
down with the long title rains.
Speaker 6 (50:38):
I'll say I feel the same way about the WWE
Championship as well.
Speaker 7 (50:43):
You can sway me Intoday night. Maybe wanting something to
spice that up.
Speaker 5 (50:48):
Saturday nice Man Evan sounds like a nice time for
a title change. I feel like, you know, we remember those.
Speaker 6 (50:52):
I remember one title change happened in that Saturday Nice
Man event in the late eighties where there was twin referees.
Speaker 5 (50:58):
One got plastic surgery and never thing.
Speaker 2 (51:00):
It was crazy.
Speaker 6 (51:01):
So we don't need plastic surgery, if you know, on
this year's show, but we can. You know, I would
be against the title change, you know, like you said,
not everybody has to hold the title for a whole year.
Speaker 5 (51:11):
That should be special when somebody does that.
Speaker 7 (51:14):
I don't disagree.
Speaker 3 (51:16):
By the way, that's gonna be on NBC too, so
it's not just just gonna be a peacock show.
Speaker 5 (51:22):
Given more litle change with Kevin Owens potentially.
Speaker 3 (51:28):
I mean, I'm just I'm just talking against.
Speaker 7 (51:32):
I'm just talking to.
Speaker 3 (51:33):
Win it back at the Royal Rubble with no problem.
Speaker 5 (51:37):
Look, we hear Nick, this.
Speaker 3 (51:42):
Is why we do this all the time, little jolt
of electricity in your weekly television programming for w Why
not somebody that I don't think is long for the
United States Championship too much longer? I just don't see it.
I could be completely wrong, but I love how they
brought back knacka Mora. We have La Knight defending against
(52:02):
since k Knockamora. Knockamoor is minus one forty on off
shore books into right nights plus one hundred according to Today.
So I want to see Knackamora wins, so I'm gonna
pick him. I'm not. It's just a gut feeling. I
have no thought process behind that. I was like, oh,
(52:24):
he came back, okay, yeah, gave him the title. Not
really the way you book wrestling, right, I mean, like
when you book far in advance, right. But it's been
a while since we saw Knockamora. I think it's pretty cool.
I could see him kind of giving that Joelt at
least for this pay per view. The way you would
want Kevin Ellens at Saturday Nights Made Event, So I'm
(52:46):
gonna go with Knackamoora Roy. What do you got.
Speaker 2 (52:49):
I will actually go on the other side and go
with Lae Knight, because again, I don't know what you
do with Lae Knight if he loses. I mean, does
he just go back to the Andrede you know, like
Carmelo Hayes mix and just kind of they all fight
again for like the eighty eighth time. Like, I don't
know what you do with La Knight. So again I
think this is this is like the Triple Threat, the
Intercainnental match, where you can probably run this back a
couple of months. So I think Ellaen Knight probably probably wins.
(53:13):
But I think again, you'll see this either Thatt main
Event or y or Rumble, and at some point Knockamorro
takes the belt off of them, but just not just
on Saturday. On Saturday Night.
Speaker 3 (53:22):
I guess maybe uh l A Knight loses and then
wins it back or something like that. There's a lot
of different types of matches where they you can see
that happen here except down Thirder and Damian Breeze.
Speaker 5 (53:33):
We don't.
Speaker 3 (53:33):
We don't think that happen what you got.
Speaker 6 (53:37):
Yeah, this is tough because for some reason, the L. A.
Knight title run hasn't been as you know, fruitful as
before he got the title. So I guess it's naturally
like we'll have him drop it and then chase it again.
Speaker 5 (53:50):
Uh, But I don't know. I just feel like it's
they're they're waiting for something bigger for L. A.
Speaker 6 (53:56):
Knight, and I think this is a good I want
to say stop, yeah, but like a placeholder thing for
him to do until that happens. They kind of did
this last year with Cody Rhodes when he went against
Nakamura at the end of twenty twenty three. I feel like,
even if you get shinsk run with the title for
a little bit, I think ultimately they're going to try
to put somebody in position that's gonna beat L. A.
Speaker 5 (54:18):
Knight. When they beat L. A. Knight, they really are
like elevated. That's what the way I'm reading it.
Speaker 6 (54:24):
So I don't know if that's you know, eventually Carmela
Hayes he gets another go around, or maybe you know,
somebody else we haven't thought about yet. Maybe you know,
we get that over the course of time, but I
think for right now, Elle Knight keeps the title.
Speaker 7 (54:41):
I I'd like l A.
Speaker 8 (54:43):
Knight and I was, you know, all aboard the hype
train back when you know he was off for the
briefcase and you know, all his big moments, and I
think him winning that belt from Logan Paul when he
wanted was it felt like a moment that I don't
know if you can point to with the US belt
having many moments that felt as big as that in
the last I don't know decade, maybe to be honest,
(55:07):
but I think that he's totally lost whatever he had
that that made him pretty hot at the time. So
I don't even think it should be a priority of
like what are we gonna do with l A Night
if we drop him out. It should kind of be
like it's on him to get hot again. Shinska needs
a chance. I think it feels like every time that
they give him a run, he go, he comes.
Speaker 7 (55:28):
Out and takes a couple of losses.
Speaker 8 (55:29):
Like I thought that he had a fun rivalry with
Cody last last year, like you guys mentioned a fun
little run with Seth Rollins when when he was the
other champ before WrestleMania, and he just jobbed out every
match that they had him in, and it almost felt
like they brought him in at such a high level
when they brought.
Speaker 7 (55:45):
Him back at the main events scene that he couldn't
get any wins.
Speaker 8 (55:48):
And I do think it'd be nice if they could
get him some wins and make him, you know, the
IC champ for a little bit, and then maybe he
could be a main event kind of healed.
Speaker 7 (55:57):
Because there's so many babyfaces.
Speaker 8 (55:59):
Right now, they're they're kind of lacking on on the
main event heel side, if you're not looking at solo
as a guy who you think will be a main
eventor after this storyline, which I'm skeptical of. So I
hope Shinsk can be one of those kind of top
heel types. I hope the ship hasn't sailed, so I'll
go with Shinske.
Speaker 3 (56:21):
That is Survivor series war Games five matches as of
this recording, so I'm sure if they add matches here
and there, we'll bring it up on social media, talk
about it and you could, you know, follow us at
Fox Pageal gambler a get involved in the conversation and
uh yeah, man, Survivor series is here, and it's kind
of exciting going into it. I haven't really been dis
(56:44):
excited and many past Survivor series heading into it, it's
kind of like another show. Even if it was like
Champion versus Champion, it was kind of like does it
mean something or is it just cool for a night
to see really good wrestling but doesn't mean something. And
we're going into a show that definitely means something that
(57:05):
you know, even heading out of it, especially with the
bloodline angle, I believe we're all glued to that. So
that is our Survivor Series roundtable. So Mark, Henry Junior
take us out with some ear plugs and Roy Vaughn
and then I'll close up shot.
