all the goodies that are available to us as we
now go forward. Here are the new numbers that you
need to learn to be part of this show. Calling
our texting here it is eight eight eight the number six.
Then you spell out big Box, Big Box Entertainment, our
new company for the new show. And of course my
(01:16):
handle on social media as well, So eight eight eight
six big Box and that works on texting, which we
do have that option, or it also works on calling.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
The show today. So we have so much to unpack.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
I think we kind of start out by saying, guys,
I can't believe this is real.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
Here we are everybody, have a good Christmas. Everybody's here.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Yes, yes, so many goodies and Adler, I know that
you have not let us share any pictures of the
of the new look of the studio. You did a
tremendous job. It looks fantastic. Are we allowed to tell
people now? You've almost been a little uh militant about it.
(02:05):
I mean you you did not want this look to
get out until everybody could see it on YouTube. Now
if you're if you're not watching on YouTube, you can't
see it. Are we free to put it out for
everybody to see? Now?
Speaker 5 (02:16):
Yeah? No?
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Nothing?
Speaker 4 (02:22):
Okay, So I have your I have your man check to.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (02:28):
Yes, we can officially tell people to watch the show.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Now, okay, So can we can we put a picture
of it anywhere in the studio? I know you took one,
but you didn't have the screen on.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
Yeah, I mean sure, sure, yes definitely.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
But I love I love the vibe of it. I
think it looks fantastic. And uh and and I'm in
that that deal now where you know we took a
three week sabbatical. Yeah, uh, and I don't even remember
how to do this. Uh. You know, first of all,
there's a lot of bets out there. How many times
do i'd say the old show, and don't and don't
say the new show.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
Yeah, all right, I'm gonna do it.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
That'll that'll happen a lot. So, but we'll kind of
give you a tour because not only does the Big
Boys Studio have a new look, there's also new fun
and games and I mean, we we're gonna we're gonna
have a lot of fun even today. And we'll tell
you more about that when we come back in the
next segment, but even today, you know, because we've been
(03:26):
in this business for a really long time. Okay, you know, Speedy,
you and me. If you go back to the entire
time we've been in the business, it's forty years. Oh yeah, okay,
forty years. And Greg you've been in about sixteen, seventeen, sixteen,
Adler how long you've been in it forever? Fifty years. Yeah,
(03:47):
So we we know that anytime you've got a new product.
One thing that we know about this industry is there
are no scruples. Okay, so if we if we can't
get you any other way to this program, one way
that we are willing is to just buy you. Uh,
so we know we at least get you to hang
around yeah. Sure, so some may like some of you
(04:10):
that are emotionally torn, what if we just bought you so?
Uh So, what's gonna happen is every hour today, that's
five big ones every hour today, there's gonna be a
chance for you to win money every single hote. Yeah,
and we'll tell you how because I think you'll enjoy
the road to that, and and everybody will participate, not
(04:31):
not just people calling, but the text option, which is
the exact same number eight eight eight six, big box,
the new website Rick burgesshow dot com. Uh if you
do not have the new swag, I'm wearing one of
our sweatshirts. Now we'll talk about Not everybody was excited
about the swag as I was, but we'll talk about
(04:51):
that a little bit.
Speaker 5 (04:52):
So.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Uh So there's new swag. You say, you see this
right here? I mean you got to have your standard
coffee mug. So that that that's already out there. Now
what was interesting to drink it? But well, here's what
I found out coffee drink Well when I was talking
to the new store people, and it's it's feed the
Nations out of Memphis, Tennessee. We've been working with them
(05:15):
with the Manchurch dot Com. So I thought, well, let's
let's get put all that together and work with them
on the new show too. Well, when they sent the mug,
I realized you have to be drinking with your left
hand for the logo to be out. But when I
started checking mugs at my house, probably seventy percent of
them had whatever logo either on both sides or only
(05:37):
on the side. Where do people drink coffee with their
left hand or do you want the logo facing you?
I think I don't know.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
I can go both ways.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Well that's what I heard, and that's that's been the concern.
There goes the summit right out of the gate. But anyway,
so that's so faine. But it's five minutes.
Speaker 4 (05:56):
Well, yeah, that's not bad.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
And speaking of that, speaking of that, and Adler, you
had to coach me a little bit here. So the
second weekend that we were all off, the second weekend,
we put together something called the Rick Burgess Show Business
Summit at Camp House or the Camp House Business Summit,
(06:20):
and we told our wives that we had to get
down there and start preparing for this new adventure and
for them not to see this as us going deer honey,
but we were going we may not even go out.
We were going down there to prepare. So we have
put together one of our first ever But look for
more of these YouTube reality series and an episode one
(06:41):
of the Camp House Business Summit will be on our
YouTube channel today, so I'll let you know when it's there.
It has been produced, it is done, and so you
can go to our YouTube channel, which you just go
to Rick burgesshow dot com. It's linked right there, easy
to find our search Rick Burgess Show on YouTube if
you're not already a subscriber. Uh, and you can go
(07:04):
watch episode one when it's there, and it will be
there today. So when it's there, I'll let you know.
So that that we're gonna we're gonna start providing a
lot more stuff like that, behind the scenes documentaries, documentaries.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
All of that.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
Uh, so look for there to be tremendous fun. Now,
will we still update you on the news? We will?
Will we just have uh you know, some sort of
every day. Uh, here's a news update. Probably not.
Speaker 5 (07:32):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
We're gonna cover the big stories, of course, and there's
some today and some of them are not not very pleasant,
but we'll hit a few of those uh, will we
talk sports. We will.
Speaker 5 (07:43):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
But but at the center of the show is going
to be uh fun. It's gonna be laughing, it's gonna
be cutting up, it's gonna hopefully be a break from
all the things out there that are not so wonderful.
So yes, we'll keep you up. Like today, we know
this winter storm thing is happening. Okay, Uh, we're as
(08:03):
Span says, weather weenies, We're not weather weenies. But if
there's a big weather story like this winter storm, the
first one is already happening, another one is yet to come,
uh sometime this weekend. Who will that effect? Who will
it not affect? Span will update us today, so we'll
have that. So so we're gonna keep you informed. But
(08:23):
but but I guess what I'm saying is it's not
going to be so much of the show as we
felt like maybe we we had been doing in the
in the latter days of the former show. So so
we're gonna we're gonna do things that that you're gonna
find hopefully fun but definitely unpredictable. And so why don't
we Why don't we go ahead? And this is my
(08:44):
first time to try the boy Wogain watch that right there.
Speaker 4 (08:47):
All right, so we'll we'll go to the break.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
When we come back, why don't we kind of do
a little talk about the studio.
Speaker 4 (08:57):
We can do that.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Again, sure a little bit later too. Kind of tell
you some of the ways that you're going to get
an opportunity to win money today, because at the end
of it all, everybody would like to have some money.
That's pretty separate. Yeah, pretty well after the holidays.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
Yes, is the Rick Burgess Show still denying any involvements
in the food fights of nineteen seventy nine.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
Rick Burgess, here we go, baby, so much to cover.
We've been away for three weeks. Welcome to something near
all right, So a couple of things we want to
(09:55):
run down for you, as I mentioned, still to come.
We've got James Spam, winter weather now now looking at
this weekend, a couple of opportunities. Uh, and honestly we're
gonna have to wait and see. Uh. You know, we're
often running with so many things that will be happening
this year. Obviously themanchurch dot com this is when it
(10:19):
really happens the first quarter of the year. Now, a
lot of you don't understand men's ministry. This may surprise you,
but once I finish explaining it, you're gonna go, Yeah,
that makes a lot of sense. So what happens is
men's ministry. If you're smart, uh and strategic, you try
to get your men to have opportunities when football season
(10:43):
and deer season ends, but before turkey season and baseball starts.
So you have to kind of you know, you can
compete with basketball, but you don't want to compete with
turkey hunting, deer hunting, football, and to some degree baseball
because of so many games and a lot of the
kids are and things like that. So that means that
when you hit late late January and you hit February,
(11:07):
everybody's trying to do that. Okay, so you're gonna when
if you go to the Manchurch dot com, our Burgessmnistries
dot com, or Rick Burgess Show dot com, you're gonna
see the first quarter is full of stuff. I mean,
we got three conferences with Birmingham, Panama City in Atlanta.
Speaker 5 (11:26):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
We'll talk more about that. Uh, and then I'm going
out doing individual stuff. Other men on the team are
going out now this weekend. I'm scheduled to be in
Cold Water Michigan. I've ever been to Cowater, Michigan, to Coldwater, Michigan.
Where is Coldwater, Michigan? Yeah? So, uh now can I
(11:47):
get there? Because of the weather? Can I get there?
I don't know. Uh. I think it may be fine
in Coldwater, Michigan, and it may be fine where I live.
But what about between here and there?
Speaker 1 (11:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (12:00):
You got that issue, So so we'll see. And then
I look at it at Sunday night and I know
this may be an issue. It looks like I'm going
to North Alabama. Our schedule to be there this Sunday night.
Does anybody know where Anderson, Alabama is? Don't Is that
around Lexington, Alabama? They might know where that is? Anderson, Alabama?
(12:21):
Where is Anderson Alabama? Anderson Alabama, let's see Lauderdale County. Yeah, okay,
is that north I don't know? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (12:29):
Yeah, Okay, so I don't know. Yeah, so that's me.
Speaker 6 (12:33):
Yeah, it's right there east of Huntsville, right on the
state line.
Speaker 4 (12:37):
Okay, all right, So how will that be affected?
Speaker 2 (12:40):
We don't know. So so I do know. And Speedy,
you sent me this one. We had one in Chattahoochee
and they've already said we're gonna reschedule. Yeah, yeah, with Dawson.
Yeah yeah, they said with with.
Speaker 7 (12:52):
They said with the with the forecast, they're not going
to try.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
So well, I'm going to say every as far as
what I'm doing this weekend, it's still holding right now.
But it's in the will see. It's in the will see. Okay,
So what update you on that? Now? I told you
that you know, in in in radio, and and and
in entertainment, there there is no shame. So well, we
(13:18):
want you to be supporters of this show, and we'll
take you how we can get you, okay now, and
one of those things is we'll just give you money.
We'll just buy you, okay. So so we have to start.
Some of you may have seen me teasing this yesterday.
What is better than a will of meat? That's a
great question. Uh, I mean, that's it. I mean, can
(13:40):
you imagine trying to answer that question. Well, we were
forced to answer it because you know, we ended up
with the wheel because basically, I think it was too
big to move. So we said, well, I tell you
what's better than than than meat? You know, remember we
even lost meat at one point where it can meet. Yeah,
and the only thing better than that is money. Okay,
(14:01):
money can meet Yeah, there you go. So your hand
in hand behind Greg, I don't know, Adler, can you
get Yeah? You got to show it. Yeah, behind you
see this, and Greg, you said, let's call it what
now you like bundles being first?
Speaker 8 (14:13):
I do?
Speaker 2 (14:13):
Okay, it's gonna do you ask my opinion? Yeah, okay,
release the cracking.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
Okay, so.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
Anyway we we we are going to call it the
will of bundles, bits and bucks. I'll never remember that, okay, bundles,
bits and bucks? Right now? Why is as opposed to bits,
bundles and bugs? Yeah? And why is it called bundles,
bits and bugs? You may ask that, Yeah, some people
may ask that. I'm curious on the bundle part. Okay,
I got that for you. You can win merchandise from the
(14:47):
storerooshow dot com. There's your bundle, the prize, bundle prize. Okay,
why would it say bits? I tell you what? Can? Can?
Can somebody kind of make me through the wheel or speedy?
All right? So do you need him, Mike? Do you care?
Speaker 3 (15:05):
You just tell him to yell?
Speaker 2 (15:06):
Okay? All right? So right there, so I just yeah,
all right, okay, So if you land on the that
we're walking through the wheel right now. For those of
you that can't see it, walk but just hear me
explain it, all right. So that landed on one of
the logos of the show. So that means you win
a bundle, you went something out of the out of
the store. But how do you get chosen to spend them? Okay,
(15:30):
good question, Greg? All right, So here's what happens hitting
to it.
Speaker 3 (15:34):
Greg.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
At any time on the show, I may say caller whatever,
and this caller now is is the right caller?
Speaker 4 (15:43):
So I say caller eleven.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
Yeah, okay, I don't know why I said eleven, but anyway,
so I've always liked that number. I have to that
was my second choice. So anyway, Caller eleven says, Hey,
I'm I'm Ethel out of yeah Anderson in Alabama? Are
you are y'all still coming this week? Okay, because my
husband's going all right, And and then and then I
(16:05):
say and then I say, Ethel, who would you like
to spin the wheel for you? There even get to
pick who they want, okay, and she and she may
say I'd like Speedy to spend it, okay, So and
then Speedy spins it whatever it lands on, scary get
Gary's a female right right by the way. Today another
thing on the show today. Gary claims he's bought a
(16:26):
new phone so he can be able to show more.
I said, we're gonna test it to that. We're gonna
test it today, okay, all right, So Ethel says, hey,
my husband's going to that thing Sunday night. Y'all still
doing it. And and then I said, well, you know what,
we'll talk to Span and I want Speedy spinning. I
like Speedy. I like his little bald head and it's
skinny leag and I love his skinny legs. His legs
(16:48):
look a mine did in high school. So anyway, so
then so then and so so Speedy lands on that.
So that means she won something from the store. But
it's only one spin. We're done, okay, wanting to speak
what you want because we want the will to be entertaining,
not annoying the people that are not even involved in
two segments of Now we're not doing multiple spins all that.
(17:08):
So now the next one, look it lands on Greg.
We're going that way, all right, release the cracking now
then that you'll hear that and then Greg and Greg
just and Greg just complains about something he helped. Okay,
I almost start making the list. Look I got the
first one, okay, so now look at the next one. Oh,
there's money if.
Speaker 4 (17:31):
It lands on if it lands.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
On that one, all of it. And that's five hundred dollars,
five hundred, five hundred dollars and it lands on that.
I mean, baby, you're a business. This will also be
the intro for the winky.
Speaker 9 (17:55):
Differently money, money, money, money, money, Oh money, what.
Speaker 10 (18:00):
Do we win?
Speaker 11 (18:01):
Well?
Speaker 9 (18:03):
And money, money, money, money and money.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
So now you got all right? So then then then
you won. So I'm gonna take a break, We're gonna
come back, and we're gonna go through more of the wheel.
That's how incredible the will is. I like the wheel
is that there's there's okay with how we did that, Greg,
I mean so far, so far. So it's it's it's
the it's the will of bundles, bits and buck Oh god, bundles,
bits and b all right, so yeah, yeah, all right,
(18:32):
so it's bundles not buddles. Well, we'll walk through that
and somebody's gonna get a chance to have one of
us spent it for them before this hour is done.
What I wanted it earlier, Get out of town.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Call or text the
show at one eight eight eight six Big fucks.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
That's the new number. You got to learn it and
you can use it on texts at our phone calls
as we work our way in Hey, do want to
point you to Cbdistillery dot com. Cbdistillery dot com. They're
back with us now. A lot of you out there
may be looking for natural solutions for sleep and stress,
(19:30):
and you hear people raving about it, and you're like,
I've never really weigh in on this, Maybe you should.
If you got a medicine cabinet full of things that
don't really work and aren't really good for you, So
why don't you go right now to Cbdistillery dot com
forty eight thousand five star reviews, good night, and people
saying things like best sleep I've gotten in years, I
wake up feeling we're fresh, ready to go. If that
(19:53):
sounds pretty good to you, you might want to go
to Cbdistillery dot com right now, or you can go
to Rick Burgess Show dot com. Find them there under
the sponsors button. But we can get you twenty percent
off with the code big vox. Uh, so use that
when you go to Cbdistillery dot com that code big
Vox twenty percent off. Or as I said, this, look
for the link at Rick Burgess Show dot com under sponsors.
(20:15):
So we're talking about the wheel. We have a lot
of things to cover today and somebody is going to
get a chance to have somebody spin the wheel of
bundle bits and bucks for them today bundless. Yeah, but
I want you to know what's happening, so so speedy
get back over there so we have that. Yeah, that's
money all right. Now say it lands on that right there? Now,
(20:37):
this is interesting. This is interesting. You know sometimes even
though things are new, U something that's been gone for
a long time. Uh really by popular demand. This was
something that was created long long ago when you know,
I was of Hot Rock and dj uh and that
is the character Helium Boy. So if it lands on this,
(21:01):
because remember it is bundles but it's also bits. So
we just had Greg a minute ago releasing the cracking,
this is what Helium Boy will come in and weigh
in on something. Okay, so you won't really win anything,
but you'll but we'll hear from Helium boy right here, Oh, bobble,
you know it'll pop in. So here's one. A lot
of people are asking, let's say it lands on this
(21:21):
next one. Vox seats. You've heard of our guy. Hey,
you going to the game. You've got box seats here.
You have vox seats for big Vox entertainment and uh
and so we have vox seats.
Speaker 5 (21:31):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
Can you get a shot of those out?
Speaker 12 (21:33):
It?
Speaker 2 (21:33):
Can you? So it is out? I think this turned
out great. Look at the vox seats. Make a note
on the basketball goal. We'll get to that in a minute.
It look at the vox seats. So you would win
vox seats two seats to come to come and watch
the show.
Speaker 4 (21:49):
Now what this is making people do?
Speaker 2 (21:50):
Right now? Hey man? When when when can I Hey,
when they're gonna start with reserving vox seats to come
watch the show?
Speaker 4 (21:56):
Great question, We don't know, but we argue to do question.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
It is a good question.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
We're going to do it.
Speaker 4 (22:03):
But we're gonna do it.
Speaker 2 (22:04):
And what we'll do is probably meet after the show
today and I'll ask Speedy, hey, when can we start
booking vox seats? And he'll tell me, and then I'll
tell you when we'll start those so so, but probably
this week they will start so so. Anyway, so you
would win vox seats. Now, keep in mind if you're
in the vox seat, somebody. Every time where we have
vox seat, people will do a random number from the
(22:26):
vox seats and that person good to come up and
spend too. Okay, but but it's only one spinning time.
It's only one one. I like it, the multiple spin thing.
I mean, it's fun for the spinner, but it's not.
It's a boring bit for the for the it is.
So we want to keep it exciting. We want to
keep it happening, popping going. All right, say lands on
the next one, the man of a thousand voices, that's
(22:46):
a picture of speedy. Speedy has to do an impression
of who whatever celebrity you say that. I see, that
would be a bit.
Speaker 5 (22:52):
I like that.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
All right, Next, that's easy. Hey, now there's a thousand dollars.
Did you say one? There's a thousand dollars? That's a
thousand dollars?
Speaker 3 (23:04):
Is the staff allowed to spend?
Speaker 4 (23:05):
No staffs men? No? Hey how about this? Everybody?
Speaker 5 (23:10):
All right?
Speaker 2 (23:10):
So all right? Next, look you love the next one.
Unfortunately that Speedy's wallet. That can't be good.
Speaker 4 (23:16):
That means not only do you not win, you have
to buy Spitty's lunch.
Speaker 3 (23:19):
Okay, that's fair. Okay, there's fair.
Speaker 4 (23:23):
Fair be Hey, we've all spun that will right?
Speaker 2 (23:25):
Yeah, okay? Next, next is just a repeat. There's the
that's another bundle from the store because it's the show logan.
You know why, because the bits bundles and buck Yeah, Greg,
you'll love this next one. There's a picture of me
when I was a hot rocking DJ. Oh and I'm
wearing about Obama's last outlaw. Yes, and I'm wearing a
Raiders hat and for some reason what I thought was
the coolest tank top in the world, my eight ball
(23:45):
tank top. Okay remember that. Watch let me see what
am I wearing? I tell you what that eight ball
tank The fact is the tank top. And don't miss
I'm at work. Yeah, this is a picture of me
at work.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
Got dressed.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
Where are you going going to work? Really gregging those days,
goutting grass begging those days there was no one to say,
are you? But anyway, if you'll notice that picture doesn't
tell you everything. I also have on a pair of
Raiders Sweatpants. You remember those titles, they're like tigers Drop. Yeah,
he had this run where he dressed I guess he
got ahead of he was dressing gear. So so when
(24:28):
that happens, that means that I go hot rocking DJ.
That that'll be a bit and I have to walk
a song and take you back to my days of
a DJ. Okay, Okay, now do you do y'all think
I should walk the song somebody requested on the fly?
That's gonna be hard. Or should I just have one
ready to walk?
Speaker 5 (24:45):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (24:45):
I have some ready to walk. The next one real simple. Again,
there's money. There's five hundred dollars again, So that's that's
real simple. Uh And you just want money to Yeah,
So that that's and then the next one subscription to
Blaze TV. Blaze TV. By the way, they came back,
I said, hey, we want to continue on. So so
an hour of the of the of the Rick Burgess
Show is on Blaze TV every day, the best of
(25:07):
our and we have a little something we're brewing too
that we'll tell you more about later. All Right, The
next one you land on, that's simple rock and roll city,
rock and roll City, and that means that Adler and
if you want to bring Greg into they just have
to that.
Speaker 4 (25:20):
You got to be ready to riff.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
Okay, you just you got to be ready to just
take the axe out and I mean just melt our faces. Sure, okay,
all right, So the next one, Henry the Horse is
hanging around. So here here's Henry again.
Speaker 3 (25:33):
Or Hank the Hound. You never know, hate the Hank.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
Look it's a new day, so we can bring Hank
the Hound back as well. All right. The next one
there it is again that's just money. One thousand dollars,
a thousand bucks. Again thousand bucks a money money.
Speaker 5 (25:48):
So all right.
Speaker 2 (25:49):
The next one not good. Here, that's Beth Mowens. Now
that's the one I was curious about that. I looked
at almost see that that that then that then bath
ways in.
Speaker 3 (26:00):
I thought that was speedy. Okay, wait a minute.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
That is You're not gonna win on the wheel today, guys. Okay, Greg,
that you're doing Scooby, you're doing Shaggy all right. Next,
and then that's the final one. There's another bundle out
of the store. So there's all the things on the wheel.
That's how it works. Yep, it'll be a random caller
or or it will be a random texture today. Somebody
(26:24):
off the text option will get a chance to pick
somebody to spend for them. So we'll have a caller today,
and we'll have a texture today, and we're gonna do
this once an hour for the entire show today.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
Hey, watch out watch wait.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
By the way, some of your comments on the text
about the yeah, okay, we got it. Thanks a great one.
And that one right there I'm looking at that's a
great comparison between the wheel and me and the will
of money. Yeah, this is good.
Speaker 4 (26:52):
No, Greg, that's not what we want.
Speaker 12 (26:53):
Now.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
That's that's Greg, Greg, thank you for that. No, No,
I go back to I go back home. I go
back to the very first point. What about the same
at the camp house? About this? I read a scripture.
I started to the scripture.
Speaker 3 (27:13):
He did. No, that was so that was wise, that's wisdom.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
No, all right, So you know this depends on how
you take it. I'm making No. No, No, you're wrong
about that.
Speaker 5 (27:23):
You think.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
Do you take it? So they winning money? No, there's
they're saying, there's nothing better than with him. You won't
know what compared to all right, So.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
We difference between money and meat.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
Yeah, so us this close together is not gonna work.
I'm just gonna let you know, by the way, what
I'm looking for him doing an impression that close to
him as oh we we are. We are forty three
minutes into the new show, and I'm gonna have separate speeding. Okay,
that's all. It was an experiment.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
Didn't make it an hour?
Speaker 2 (27:56):
Yeah, yes. And it's the same number either way. Texture
if you're calling, it's eight eight eight six Big Box
are texting same thing, ye either way, same same number.
Speaker 3 (28:06):
So eight eight eight six Big Vox.
Speaker 5 (28:10):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
Okay, I didn't know that, so to me.
Speaker 7 (28:12):
So the first learn you learned something I can't get
the wheels it bundles bits and bucks?
Speaker 2 (28:18):
Correct and no, well good point. Yeah, so when it
lands on herd you can add it. Go oh it
today it's bundles, bits and bucks. And be real careful,
Greg about how about you don't tell anybody about it?
Won't you?
Speaker 13 (28:33):
Just not?
Speaker 2 (28:35):
I'll just so here's the deal. Website is Rick burgesshow
dot com. Everything you need to know is there. Obviously
there's gonna be a process of some of this stuff,
you know, links and stuff catching up, so it'll all
work it stuff out. The store is back open again.
Do y'all realize did not make y'all feel good that
we did a trial run and open the store over
(28:58):
the three week break and they hold out so fast
they shut the store down and said, we underestimated the
respond that's good. We got to restock. So everything's stocked now.
So the store is there. So check the new website.
I thought it turned out fantastic. Studio looks fantastic, and
we're kind of walking you through what you can expect.
So so with that being said, when we come back,
(29:24):
I'm going to take a caller at eight eight eight
six Big Box. Somebody is gonna pick one of us
to spend the wheel for them, and whatever that will
lands on we go for. It will be abundant, will
it be a bit or will it be bucks or
a bad?
Speaker 4 (29:42):
Now we'll do that bad when we come back.
Speaker 2 (29:45):
Thanks for being with us.
Speaker 1 (29:47):

Speaker 5 (32:57):
All right?
Speaker 4 (32:58):
Do we need to turn it on?
Speaker 3 (33:00):
It's not plugged in.
Speaker 2 (33:01):
Okay, I just realized I never plugged it in. You
didn't plug the will in.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
I didn't plug it in.
Speaker 2 (33:05):
You'll plug it in. Yes, of course, don't make Darryl
have the Willel spun for him. Darryl, do you want
us to light it up for the first ever spin
of the Bundles, Bits and Bucks?
Speaker 5 (33:16):
So we of course it's gotta be the lights man.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
You know where you go down your list and you
check your list, and there's so many things we had
to do.
Speaker 6 (33:23):
I looked at it and thought, okay, I need an
extension cord for that, and then I never thought about that.
Speaker 3 (33:28):
Thought again.
Speaker 6 (33:28):
You had a lot going on, man, I didn't think
about that thought again.
Speaker 4 (33:31):
Here go, Speedy's got your extension cord.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
Okay, good, plug it in.
Speaker 2 (33:36):
All right, there we go.
Speaker 3 (33:37):
Plug it in. Greg. You don't know about power, but
it goes in the holes. The prongs go in the holes.
Speaker 2 (33:43):
Let's see here. Here we go. All right, wait, all right,
here we go. Greg's plugging it in. Light her up, now,
light it up for Darryl. All right, there we go.
It's all right, Daryl, there you go, all right?
Speaker 3 (33:56):
Sore?
Speaker 2 (33:57):
All right?
Speaker 4 (33:57):
So Greg is gonna spin it for Daryl?
Speaker 2 (33:59):
What will at land?
Speaker 5 (34:00):
Don't? All right?
Speaker 2 (34:00):
Greg, give it a rip. Here here we go.
Speaker 13 (34:01):
You wow, this is big.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
Yeah. I see say what Daryl gets here? All right, Daryl,
greg is spending for you. What if you want money
right out of the gate? Would that not be fans.
Speaker 14 (34:16):
Here?
Speaker 2 (34:16):
I need money?
Speaker 4 (34:17):
Oh it's it's.
Speaker 2 (34:22):
Drum.
Speaker 4 (34:23):
It's rocking, Darryl.
Speaker 2 (34:27):
All right, So Darryl, rock and roll City is gonna
is going to melt your face. He's so disappointed. But Daryl,
that's our We're doing it every hour today and your
odds of getting in again are almost none.
Speaker 4 (34:37):
But right here we go.
Speaker 3 (34:40):
I don't even even my guitar.
Speaker 2 (34:42):
Here we go, here we go.
Speaker 3 (34:45):
I need to turn on.
Speaker 2 (34:47):
Okay, we gotta get we gotta get that. Okay, the
coach there is Darrel. That's wow.
Speaker 7 (34:52):
That's wow.
Speaker 15 (34:53):
I know it allowed money, but but it is rock
and roll.
Speaker 12 (35:10):
Smoke on the water for Daryl. Y, thanks for listening, buddy.
Speaker 6 (35:32):
That song that was that was called Speedy on the
water because he smokes cigarette.
Speaker 3 (35:36):
I don't sorry, I just ruined it all.
Speaker 2 (35:39):
Speedy on the water.
Speaker 4 (35:41):
So that's good.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
That's a good. Big that was man. So how about Darryl?
Will be Forever Ever and Rick Burgess show folklore as
the first person to ever spind the will of bundle
bits and book. How did he handle that? Bless his heart? Well,
thousand bucks and you got this bundles.
Speaker 7 (36:00):
He had a great attitude he went there. That Ethol
dropped the ball, she could have been first.
Speaker 2 (36:05):
Well, yeah, guys, y'all got to get it together because
one thing, you know, we're gonna keep this show moving.
I mean, you gotta understand this show is gonna go
at this place right here. And I mean when when
we went to we went to that caller, she seemed
all confused or whatever. We just move on.
Speaker 6 (36:19):
Yeah, so yeah, like an old shoe, we weren't ready.
Speaker 2 (36:24):
We didn't think to do and we didn't maybe every
day for the show we might need to go to
make a little quick run.
Speaker 3 (36:30):
Yeah, make sure my guitar works right, no panicking for
a second.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
But it was in tune pretty good. Can I tell
you what? Can I tell you what? What is also
funny because all of us were talking about this because
we're doing so many things that you is the minute
the wheel spun, I realized probably should have set up
a so one to walk in case, in.
Speaker 7 (36:47):
Case we wouldn't have the fun scrambling for stuff. Oh,
I just had to run, go get an extension.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
Let me tell you what I want to when not
just an extene about a fifty foot that's a fir
thing I grabbed and hey, I mean to say, the
break room is a mess. I pulled that thing. I
didn't know what you were you were going, for instance,
where you're going, But when you opened the door and
you were in draped across.
Speaker 3 (37:09):
You needed five feet, you brought fifty.
Speaker 2 (37:11):
Yeah, we got extra today is is a really it's
a run through. Yeah, it's a run through. Yeah. So
we'll uh, we'll come back and again. Next hour it'll
happen again. Now we may do it a different way. Uh,
but next hour it will happen again. Now we also
will come back as we continue to tour, uh the
(37:32):
new studio set up. We do have another feature we
want to talk about, and we come back. And this
was something out of the mind of Adler, and uh,
it was it was so funny when he came to
me and he was like, you don't want to know
what I thought about it, And it was like you
could tell he thought a no maybe coming and he
was a little emotional about it. But but I'm fired
(37:52):
up about it. Let's just keep throwing stuff at the
wall and if we decided to go with it. Yeah,
well he's, you know, a very creative young man. Well
he is, well what is it?
Speaker 3 (38:02):
I don't even remember what it was?
Speaker 2 (38:04):
He has his hair down.
Speaker 3 (38:05):
Oh oh yeah, yeah, yeah, that's cool.
Speaker 2 (38:09):
So we'll come back. We'll continue to look at all
the new features. The Rick Burgess Show debut today.
Speaker 4 (38:15):
Thanks for being with us.
Speaker 2 (38:16):
The number eight eight eight six, big box that works
on the phone or the text, uh, and more fun
more updates. James span will update us on the Winter
storm too, coming up next hour.
Speaker 1 (38:28):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 16 (38:43):
You better listen up. You know, I says you gotta find.
Speaker 1 (38:57):
Broadcasting from the world The Rich Burgess Show.
Speaker 2 (39:03):
Here we go, Uh. The debut today already an hour strong.
If you missed the first hour, to catch it today
in the podcast or YouTube archives. Find all that at
Rick Burgess Show dot com. Speedy, Greg Burgess and Adler
(39:24):
all here as we grind through now if you if
you missed our one, we've been touring, uh, the the
makeover of the Big Boy Studio, big Boy himself at
a new location. As a matter of fact, when he
if we have a guest and they'll be on the
guest mic. You'll see big Boy standing behind them. Uh
(39:47):
and we'll actually call that the big Boy guest mink.
Speaker 10 (39:49):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (39:51):
Yeah, we took.
Speaker 2 (39:51):
We took the first spin of the will of bundle,
bits and bucks the only thing better than meat money. Uh.
There's thousand blocks, there's five hundred dollars blocks, there's bits,
and there's bundles from the store. One.
Speaker 4 (40:07):
As I said, it is the debut.
Speaker 2 (40:10):
People are telling me for some reason, the the link
to the store is still saying that it hasn't opened yet.
We don't know whether that's went. Yeah, a website issue
are the store, but I have contacted them and said, hey,
you're killing us. So so anyway, so so that so that, well,
that's well, I don't even have another way.
Speaker 7 (40:31):
Surely they're re stocked by now, right because they closed
it because they ran out of everything after we after
we opened it during the break and they closed it,
and I just I wonder if this stock.
Speaker 2 (40:41):
This date sneak on them. No, Here's the thing you
love the most is that I was told that not
only will it be open today, it's it will be
It was going to be open at ten fifteen last night.
Oh yeah, so this is you want to read you
the emails? Everybody bought it at ten to fifteen, that's
its back out again. Yes, stock is loaded into the store.
We're good to launch on Monday. Have stores set to
(41:04):
open at ten fifteen pm last night?
Speaker 3 (41:07):
Well maybe there's well i'm looking at it right now.
The store is currently closed. They do have the right
logo though.
Speaker 2 (41:14):
That's good. That's good. Yeah, there's so we'll we'll look. They're,
like I said, they're a new team. I will say
that I've worked with them on some other other deals,
nothing quite the size of this, so they'll have to
adapt a little as well. So so anyway, so we'll
we'll get that store open. But you know, you only
(41:37):
get one grand opening tomorrow. Well we're good, you know,
but anyway, so well, but we'll find out. Look, well,
same thing, I mean, you know, tune in. They they've
drug The funny thing is how many these people, like
you said, I'll tell you, I'll go this far. A
(41:59):
lot of these people if you think about you know,
when if you go back to last year, they have
been known to get ready for almost a year. Wow,
for almost a year.
Speaker 5 (42:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (42:12):
Again, I don't know if you know that we said
goodbye for an entire year. We did right so so anyway,
but but but look that's that's the fun of the
first day. Uh, and we'll continue. So we were we've
talked a lot about the the makeover. If you miss that,
like say go back and catch it on the archives today.
(42:33):
But one thing that is that is brand new to
the studio just it hasn't been just redone. It's brand new.
And I don't Adler, can you explain this idea to us?
There's there's a couple of basketball goals over here, and
you you came to me really excited asking me about
a basketball goal.
Speaker 6 (42:51):
And yeah, I would basically say, can I put a
basketball goal in the studio?
Speaker 2 (42:55):
Did?
Speaker 4 (42:56):
And can I ask you this? Do you agree?
Speaker 5 (42:57):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (42:58):
I don't want you to take this as any kind
kind of dig or anything like that, because you know
we're not that way. Of all the people I thought
we're gonna ask me about a basketball go I didn't
think you.
Speaker 3 (43:07):
Well, it's a miniature basketball goals.
Speaker 2 (43:09):
That's why it is pretty low, like a child for
a kid.
Speaker 10 (43:12):
Rick.
Speaker 2 (43:13):
He was excited about it when he was well, when
he was telling us about it, and it was so funny.
And that day we were talking about different things and
you said, let I tell what I hate. A bunch
of clutter in the studio. And I said, well about
that basketball, I guess we're not doing it since Rick
hates clutter, right, And then you said, no, no, no,
I don't consider that clutter. But at first K's little
face was just hard.
Speaker 6 (43:35):
It's a double. It's a two lane shooter. For the
people that are just listening, it's a basketball. It uses
the basketballs are many basketballs, but they feel rubbery and
like good enough, you know, yeah, yeah, thank you, Greg,
thank you buddy.
Speaker 3 (43:51):
Ever been.
Speaker 6 (43:55):
But we know, you know, we used to run the forty.
That used to be a bit on the show. The
staff ran the forty. Guests would run the forty. But
we got injured. We got hurt, that's true. We got injured,
like long term, long term injuries.
Speaker 3 (44:11):
My back.
Speaker 6 (44:12):
I think that's when I herniated the discs in my back. Frankly,
I think that's when I did it right. But now
so this is much lower contact, much lower stakes. Hard
to pull a hammy shooting little mini basketballs into a
mini shooter.
Speaker 2 (44:25):
Yeah, and you can actually score and you can score thing,
and you compete with the other person shooting.
Speaker 6 (44:32):
You can go head to head, or we could just go,
you know, one at a time, see who can score
the most points in thirty seconds.
Speaker 3 (44:37):
It's whatever.
Speaker 4 (44:38):
Okay, you know I can do.
Speaker 3 (44:39):
Have to warn you guys, I have one of these
at home, been practicing.
Speaker 6 (44:42):
Gonna wipe the court with y'all, probably to use a
basketball term.
Speaker 2 (44:46):
Probably will Okay, Well, well, well that's something else we
can play with. Yeah, so there's there's a lot of
the things to play with. So we'll do that.
Speaker 3 (44:55):
Burgess ball, I say, we call it burgess ball.
Speaker 2 (44:57):
We could burgess ball, Yeah, we could. When the the
box seats open, we can, you know, have a playoff
in here or something.
Speaker 3 (45:03):
Like fox ball, something big ball, big fox ball.
Speaker 2 (45:07):
No, I don't think that that, so so we'll do
that also going forward today as a matter of fact,
this hour, uh, Spam will update us on this winter
storm situation. Uh it's already affecting some of you. Some
of you may be in the path of it coming
up this weekend or this week. He'll update us on
that coming up.
Speaker 10 (45:28):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (45:28):
So we we do have that around the corner. A
lot of you have asked, since we're this is the week,
we're now down to the semi finals on the college
football playoff. The NFL playoffs start this weekend. Uh, you
know we I think we need to look into that
a little bit and and ask an uncomfortable question. Have
(45:49):
we found the college football playoff to be a little underwhelming?
Speaker 17 (45:53):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (45:54):
It's an uncomfortable question. I don't even like to speak
of it.
Speaker 3 (45:57):
These games I have caught, I've enjoyed.
Speaker 2 (45:59):
Have you I have? Yeah, I've only seen one that
was that was close.
Speaker 3 (46:04):
I understand that.
Speaker 6 (46:04):
It's it's just bout I enjoy having games of consequence.
It's like whoever wins, just actual consequence.
Speaker 4 (46:12):
That is good. So we'll talk about that.
Speaker 7 (46:15):
Speaking of that, Greg was informing me about Kirby Smart's dad.
Speaker 2 (46:19):
Did you hear about that?
Speaker 3 (46:21):
Is a terrible news fell in New Orleans.
Speaker 6 (46:23):
Yeah, was in the hospital for several days and then
ended up passing away.
Speaker 2 (46:29):
Yeah, the gracious And I was telling the guys earlier
in My wife and I were talking about this, and
I'll update you on how our vacation began. There's a
lot of people falling, a lot of falling going on.
You know, I fell down channel steps, did you really yeah,
into the garage, sprawled out right on the concrete, A
lot of falling. Dennis Prager has fallen, is paralyzed.
Speaker 3 (46:53):
I didn't even know about that.
Speaker 2 (46:54):
Yeah, Suddenly mine didn't feel that important. Nor well when
you think Kirby March's dad is dead, yes, and and
Dennis Prager is paralyzed, never mind what I say, right, okay,
but but but but but I think we do have
to look at there's a lot of people falling. Yeah,
uh so uh so I would say, what you're footing?
Speaker 10 (47:15):
So?
Speaker 2 (47:15):
Uh And and a lot of you have said, will
Dickey admire check in because you know Obama did not
finish well for those other parts of the country. You
may know he's uh, he's a Bama fan, but probably
can speak to the whole state of the playoff and
and all that as well. So I think we will
hear from him today for sure.
Speaker 7 (47:34):
So raise your hand if you were being honest that
you were surprised by what Notre Dame did.
Speaker 2 (47:38):
My hands up, very surprised now how good they look?
Speaker 3 (47:41):
But maybe that played into it with his dad. I mean,
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (47:46):
Georgia, uh with the backup quarterback having to play out. Yeah,
there's some things there. Yeah, all surprised. Yeah, and also
an uncomfortable question. Do we still get breakfast? Yes? Okay
I think when I thank god? Yeah, but you check
did you check on that?
Speaker 7 (48:06):
Oh yeah, they've been doing it throughout the break and everything. Yeah,
they're back to a full breakfast today. I think, all right,
we'll be right back.
Speaker 1 (48:13):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Sure you played a little.
Speaker 2 (48:30):
Ball, Rick, We're back, thanks for being with us. The
new number is eight eight eight six Big Box and
that works from the text option, that works on the
phone call option. And again this hour, somebody is going
to get a chance for one of the members of
(48:51):
the team here to spend the wheel and could you
can win some money one thousand dollars five hundred dollars.
Also there's bundles and there's also bits on the wheels.
So somebody else gets another chance this hour, and we'll
do it every hour as the Rick Burgess Show Grand
Opening continues. So from the from the text line, somebody said,
(49:12):
I actually ordered one of the Old Man's strong church
over the holidays before you know, we sold out. And
he said so I think he's saying he got his
which is good. So we were supposed to do the
the reopening today and it's still showing close.
Speaker 5 (49:28):
Now.
Speaker 2 (49:28):
One of the things we are taking into consideration is
the new store is based out of Memphis, Tennessee. So
I don't know if they win a storm, you know
they I don't see how that would affect it. But
but all right, so now it's got the word that
it is working now. Oh okay, it is working now.
(49:50):
It says sorry, not sure what happened on the back
end it It opened at ten pm last night, but
yet it wasn't working. I just logged in and overrode
that is working now.
Speaker 3 (50:01):
It is working now.
Speaker 2 (50:05):
Out of kid Bubo send manhatt that's his name, is
actually Bubba crowder by the way. Uh yeah, so uh yeah,
it's so there it is. Uh so the store is
now working. Uh so if you're looking, just go there,
Uh there it is. Okay, it's working now here we
go all right there, we got it done. So so
a lot of things got to get worked out. A
lot of things. There's another one I'm watching now with
(50:27):
tune in, But I mean we'll get to that end,
all right. So let's let's look back over I know,
SPAN's gonna update us on the h the winter weather
coming up next, but before that, uh, let's look back
over the three weeks now some of you if you
want to see what we did, Like what was it
(50:48):
the first week? The second weekend that we were all off,
We had to start planning, you know, for the launch
of this show, so we had a camp house business summit.
We We've done a documentary. The first episode of that
documentary will be on the Rick Burgess Show YouTube channel
(51:09):
at the end of the live show today. So and
we'll get out on social media and let you know
when it's officially there. The first episode has been edited,
it's been done. We have the link. We actually hired
a young man named Young Young Broderick Brody Burgess and
his company to shoot this for us so that Adler
(51:31):
could just enjoy himself. And he has edited it. He's
done all that, and it will be multiple episodes, so
episode one, and look for in this new day a
lot more of this kind of stuff on our YouTube channel.
So daily show there, daily archive all that Wednesday Bible
study is back coming up this Wednesday. We've been off
there for three weeks. But also things like this, so
(51:55):
look for episode one the Camp House Business Summit, coming
to the YouTube channel today at the close of the
live shop, so over the over the we got a
lot to cover of the three weeks. I understand, Speedy,
you had an interesting New Year's ego. Oh I did?
I did you know?
Speaker 7 (52:09):
We've talked about let me just talk to all owners
of dogs that freak out with severe weather. And this
is a saga that we've been talking about for a
long time, and that's Jacket, one of our dogs. Anytime
there's thunder or lightning, he starts freaking out. And we've
even gone to the vet, got medication which I never
thought i'd buy for a dog, and he's like super dog.
Speaker 2 (52:31):
He doesn't even affect him.
Speaker 7 (52:32):
And he's the only dog I know that wants to
go outside if he sees the storm. And he's like,
he goes to the door, winds and he wants to
go out, and we have a covered area and he
just sits out there.
Speaker 2 (52:43):
Well, he goes.
Speaker 7 (52:44):
To the st well on New Year's Eve, you know,
people sitting all fire setting off fireworks sounds like thunder
to him, and yes, and he started freaking out. And
because we're old now, we rarely stay up till midnight
Central time. We try to celebrate on the Eastern time.
Speaker 2 (52:59):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (53:00):
And so we were, you know, kind of going down,
but we had storms coming in on New Year's Eve
that were hitting round eleven to twelve o'clock, and so
he started freaking out because everybody boy said some people
that love fireworks, and they were popping all over the place.
And he starts doing his thing where he's disoriented and
wants to go outside. So I put him outside and
I'm like, just just hang out. So we wake up.
(53:21):
I wake up after midnight around one ish or so.
Did you stay up, Terry y yesterday?
Speaker 2 (53:26):
I did not. I didn't need to kiss Terry and
raise your hand if you stayed up to midnight. My
hand is not.
Speaker 4 (53:31):
But I went to bed not long after that.
Speaker 2 (53:33):
I did not know. I was at the beach. I
was so out. Well, we our midnight was when we
said good night to each other. That was our midnight.
Speaker 7 (53:39):
Uh So, anyway, Terry wakes up, I wake up and
she was gonna let Jack in and she goes out
there and she opens the back door and his collar
is laying there. No dollar, It's like he was invisible
and She was like, Jack, are you there? And so
I start hearing her go Jack, Collar, Jack, and I
start hearing her hollering form. So now I'm up and
I walk around. There's no Jack, and I'm like, well,
this is strange. Well we have an underground fence, and
(54:02):
so with his collar off, now he has no boundaries.
Speaker 2 (54:05):
And apparently I guess he freaked out and just ran away,
ran out of his just ran out of his he
I don't I think he tried to put his head
through this little fence with side and when he yanked
it back, the collar came off. That's all I can think.
Speaker 7 (54:19):
So now now I'm at one thirty, one forty five,
I am riding around our subdivision.
Speaker 3 (54:24):
Screaming Jack, Jack, Jack.
Speaker 2 (54:27):
I'm riding that time again, one forty five, and you're
in the neighborhood hollering Jack.
Speaker 7 (54:32):
Yes, Yes, I'm creeping along. I'm trying not to get shocked.
Are youre afraid somebody might walk out of the dark
and say, I'm Jack?
Speaker 2 (54:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (54:38):
You doing?
Speaker 2 (54:39):
What's your name?
Speaker 5 (54:40):
Ja?
Speaker 2 (54:40):
I mean? I so I stayed about two fifteen. I'm
I don't know what y'all were doing.
Speaker 7 (54:45):
You know, saw some folks coming in from partying and
and so I'm like, wow, so we used to be
no screaming Jack, Jack riding around nothing. So we're like, well,
I don't know what to do. I do we just
go to sleep. Well, you know, Terry's upset and whatever.
And I'm like, well, I was gonna go hunting, but
now I guess I want them. Now there's any better
than New Year's Day dog running off? Well, because now
(55:07):
I gotta wait till till daylight so I can find Jack.
Speaker 4 (55:09):
Wait a minute, your hunts off?
Speaker 10 (55:10):
Now?
Speaker 7 (55:11):
Yes, I was gonna go hunting and be hanging in
the hardwoods off side of a tree on New Year's Day,
like I do.
Speaker 2 (55:17):
It's just it's bad. I guess. I just don't understand.
So I wake up. Well what about the dog?
Speaker 7 (55:22):
Well, well, if your wife wants to find the dog,
then you've got to want to find the dog.
Speaker 3 (55:27):
Is Jack the one in the middle here?
Speaker 18 (55:29):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (55:29):
Yeah, no, it's to the right.
Speaker 3 (55:30):
Well that's that's he Look, he's a trouble maker.
Speaker 2 (55:33):
Yeah, he's got trouble I want. I want to step
into the dog world. So if if your wife says
I want the dog fan, then that does overrue hunt. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I wouldn't know that. Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, Oh
boy does it okay?
Speaker 7 (55:48):
And and and I felt terrible because I was hoping
Jack would never come back and that, and I felt guilty,
but it was only for a second.
Speaker 2 (55:55):
And then I went back out. You didn't look that hard.
Speaker 11 (55:57):
No.
Speaker 2 (55:57):
I rode around a lot, and I don't know if
y'all remember, it was kind of cold too, and I
was we're worried about him being cold and all that,
so we're screaming Jack.
Speaker 7 (56:05):
Well, I wake up the next morning hunt off, and
I said, you know, I need to check.
Speaker 2 (56:09):
I forgot check. Our subdivision has this big Facebook page.
Speaker 7 (56:12):
Okay, yes, And sure enough, boom, at like two o'clock,
two thirty in the morning, somebody says says, anybody lost
this dog? Oh my, And I'm like, oh my gosh,
there's Jack. So now I'm thinking I won't have to
ride around screaming Jack. So Terry messages the person that's
actually all sweet little baby, and so I'm like, Okay,
I guess I'm going to get Jack. So at about
seven o'clock, I'm going to get Jack that she found
(56:35):
in the middle of the night.
Speaker 2 (56:36):
And I said, well, what how did this happen?
Speaker 7 (56:37):
She said, Well, my son was coming home and saw
a dog on the side of the road and when it.
Speaker 2 (56:43):
Stopped, when he stopped the truck, it came up and
just sat down beside the truck. Well, his truck looks
exactly like mine, and he said it was. And he said,
you know that.
Speaker 7 (56:52):
Get us for a good Samaritan and just hey, great person,
He said, I need to take this dog home. This
dog don't need to be out here. And so it
was thank Goodness for good people. So my New Year's
Day started bad, but ended by meeting good people that
did the right.
Speaker 2 (57:06):
Thing, thein thing. Oh I'm sorry you didn't get there. Yeah, now,
I told Jack. I asked Jack, what are you doing?
Speaker 5 (57:10):
Buddy?
Speaker 2 (57:10):
And you and you wish they'd found him sooner? Oh yeah, yeah,
I wish I had checked sooner. I checked and found
him at too. And you can go hunting.
Speaker 1 (57:17):
Sure, this is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 2 (57:33):
All right, We're bad and I know. Look, I got it,
I know, I know, I know. When it comes to weather,
I got it. I know everybody panics, a lot of
you all over the country. Winter weather is nothing but
fun for you. Uh, and hopefully it's it's not a
(57:57):
bad thing. I got a chance to hunt with Wingo.
I'll tell that story today. If no, we don't get
intoday tomorrow. So he was talking about when he you know,
was from Indiana, so when he played for the Green
Bay Packers. He said, winter weather was not a big
deal to me. I dealt with it before. But he
married his wife who was from Florence, Alabama. That's North Alabama,
(58:21):
but it's still Alabama for those who don't know the
geography of the state of Alabama. And he said, I
remember us being in Green Bay. It was October and
it was snowing, and her saying to me, is it
gonna get worse than this? And he was like, oh, oh,
this is this is nothing. And so anyway, winter weather,
(58:41):
you know, gets people, you know, travel angst. There's already
some things going on that that are serious, and but
we want to just just calm. James span has joined us. James,
how are you, buddy? How are you fine? Gentlemen? We're James,
by the way, Welcome to the new studio and to
(59:03):
the new show. I just I don't know if you've
had a chance to look around.
Speaker 18 (59:07):
Very very impressive, very impressive. If I feel good, do
you guys feel good?
Speaker 2 (59:11):
Yeah, it's got a good vibe. I mean, it feels,
it feels energy, it feels it feels fresh. So I
watched you over the break and God love you, James,
God love you. But but I just want to say
that I think, now more than ever, voices like yours
(59:32):
are so important. You know, I thought at one point,
because I don't I don't follow you like you would,
you would say I'm not really a weather weenie. But
but I have noticed it seems now more than ever,
misinformation and disinformation is unbelievable.
Speaker 4 (59:48):
Until you wighe in.
Speaker 2 (59:50):
I was seeing things about this winter weather that really
started to scare me. I was like, oh my gosh,
Alabama's gonna be at minus twelve. I mean I actually
saw that one time on a post deep South will
be below freezing, and it was showing temperatures like minus
twelve minus fifteen in the Deep South, and I was like,
(01:00:13):
my goodness, our pipes aren't set up for that. We
can't even handle, you know, the teens, and so you've
had to get in and you're catching a little bit
of flack. But I think it's more important than ever
for people like you to come and say, hey, we
do have weather. But everybody calm down because I think
we see these things and we just think they know
what they're talking about.
Speaker 18 (01:00:34):
Well, what's happened. People have lost the ability to distinguish truth,
and they've lost the ability to find a credible source
of information, whether it's weather or news or sports or whatever.
And they want to hear what they want to hear.
And the other problem we have is with social media.
The outrageous you know, twenty four below zero two feet
(01:00:55):
of snow forecast, that's what gets all the engagement. And
understand there is great monetization. You had some knucklehead on
TikTok the forecast a snowstorm that was supposed to happen
three days ago in Alabama in the Deep South, and
of course it was a sunny day. But the guy
had eight point nine million views and for that one video.
(01:01:15):
Some of my friends that do TikTok, they said that
that's probably bringing him about eight thousand dollars cash for
that one video. Eight grand Wow, for a little video
two weeks in advance about a snowstorm that never happens.
And that's their motivation. And people keep flocking to that
because they want to hear. They like snow, they want
to hear this guy, and it's I will say, it's
(01:01:35):
a challenge right now, and hardly anybody wants to hear
anybody in the professional weather world.
Speaker 2 (01:01:41):
But having said that.
Speaker 18 (01:01:42):
You know, we've had a pretty good snow here Fellas,
last couple of last day or so here Kansas City,
Saint Louis, Louisville, over to Washington, d C.
Speaker 2 (01:01:51):
And Baltimore.
Speaker 18 (01:01:52):
It has been a good one and that continues up
in the DC Baltimore area this morning. They're just being
slam Winter storm Morning's remain in effect. And I will say, Fellas,
we got snow flurries in the northern part of Alabama
this morning. There's no need to panic. Remember, we will
tell you when it's time to panic, but.
Speaker 3 (01:02:12):
This is not it.
Speaker 18 (01:02:13):
Temperatures across the part of Mississippi and Alabama where the
snow flurries are flying this morning will stay above freezing
with mid thirties.
Speaker 2 (01:02:22):
The next concern.
Speaker 18 (01:02:23):
Will be Friday for the Deep South in the southern
United States, and we're gonna have a coastal load that
forums over Louisiana and there's a good chance we're gonna
see an impact winter weather situation Friday morning over much
of Arkansas, North Texas, Dallas Fort Worth. On Thursday they
could see snow, and then it moves on to the
east and then over North Mississippi and North Alabama. Early
(01:02:46):
Friday morning, we'll start to see this wintry mix. And
whenever we say that that doesn't mean all snow, that
means it could be more freezing rain. And when we
say freezing rain, that's not sleet sleep, that's little ice pellets.
Freezing rain. It's liquid. You walk outside, you get wet,
but it's below thirty two. And it looks like we'll
have this mix of freezing rain and snow for North
(01:03:06):
Alabama and North Mississippi beginning Friday morning, and that could
lead to some icy travel, especially on the bridges and
the overpasses. And I think that could be a day
where some schools decide they might not want to have
schools that day. And then during the day Friday, we
warm up and a lot of that changes to a
cold rain, and the better chance of the wintry precipitation
(01:03:29):
by Friday evening will be shifting up into Tennessee. But
again for those that are listening to us in North Mississippi,
North Alabama, and North Georgia, you might see some icy
travel issues of Friday morning followed by a gradual change
to cold rain. But remember, guys, this is an event
on Friday. We're talking on Monday, so this forecast could
easily change as we go along here. But there's definitely
(01:03:50):
a chance we'll have a little winter weather issue Friday morning.
But I promise it's not going to be twenty four
below zero and we're not going to see two feet
of snow.
Speaker 2 (01:03:58):
Yeah. I was watching this stuff and it was end
of time, end of time for the Deep South, end
of time. And they know that Southerners are easily spooked
because we are when it comes to winter weather. But
looking at what just happened, James, I was watching some
of the stuff you were putting out Kansas places like that.
It reminded me even though they're a little more savvy,
(01:04:21):
but they had this where the roads just become completely ice.
And I watched some of that video. They really had
a lot, including the Kansas City chiefs, they had issues,
didn't they It was a mess.
Speaker 18 (01:04:34):
And again, for those that are watching the video side
of this, I'm showing a Kentucky State Police vehicle that
was rammed by a car that was out of control
on Interstate sixty five near Louisville. And thankfully the officer
is going to be okay. He was injured, but probably
was very problematic. We had travel issues and still do
(01:04:55):
this morning, all the way from Kansas straight over to
places like Kansas City, Saint Louis, Louisville, ultimately Washington, d C,
and Baltimore. So yeah, this has been a very high
impact event and that storm is going to be winding
down tonight for a d C in Baltimore, and then
the focus will be shifting to the potential event on Friday.
(01:05:15):
And let me just say this too, that the system
on Friday that will affect the Deep South could bring
another big snowstorm to d C and Baltimore this coming weekend.
So this is a very active winter weather pattern, and
one way or the other, it's going to be cold.
I mean, temperature is way below average, So if you're
a cold weather fan, this is your week and most
likely these temperatures stay below average right on through mid January.
(01:05:38):
The latest long range stuff shows pretty cold there on
through at least the twentieth of the month.
Speaker 2 (01:05:43):
And when you're saying that for the Deep South, because
even though we cover a lot of places, that's a
big footprint for us. And again, we don't deal with
it real well. We don't have the clothing for it,
we don't have the pipes for it. We just don't.
You know, we don't do well when you say you're
talking twenty we're not talking about below zero. And that
kind of garbage has been out there right right.
Speaker 18 (01:06:05):
This pattern will get let's let's pick Huntsville, Alabama. Uh,
they will probably be in the teens early Thursday morning.
Ye and uh, and understand that's pretty cold here for real,
but it's not you know, it's not you know, ten
below zero or something that's historic here.
Speaker 2 (01:06:21):
It's not that. Uh.
Speaker 18 (01:06:23):
And again we'll see teens in Tennessee, parts of North Mississippi,
North Georgia later this week.
Speaker 2 (01:06:28):
And hi's in the thirties, uh, which which is manageable.
Speaker 18 (01:06:32):
You know, you know the other thing people ask me,
But all the time it's you know, when do I
leave my water dripping?
Speaker 2 (01:06:37):
What about my pipes?
Speaker 18 (01:06:38):
Every construction is different, And I'm not a mechanical guy,
but I have seen different houses and different in the
same neighborhood, where one house has burst pipes the other
house doesn't. It's all about construction techniques. So I'm we
do the atmosphere. I'll let you guys tell people when
to turn on the drip, all.
Speaker 4 (01:06:57):
Right, so let me throw Let me throw this at you.
I'm going to ask.
Speaker 2 (01:07:00):
And I think this is unfair because it is Monday,
but I saw you look. Don't think I haven't become
a little more weathery. I'm gonna throw out a term
European model. And I know you trust the European model.
You like it. Rick likes European models. You heard it
first on the show. But anyway, what I was wondering,
(01:07:21):
and this is unfair because it's Monday, and I got that.
I got a couple of things this weekend, okay, And
I know what you just told me. I think I'm
okay on our end if it holds to what you said.
But I need to get from Alabama to Coldwater, Michigan
flight wise, not a commercial because that would be a disaster.
But do you think there's an issue. I know will
(01:07:44):
be okay probably here, and they may be okay there,
but it's the end between and I know the pilot Wualtimore.
May let's be a timing on this flight. I would
leave it one pm Central on Saturday to arrive there,
you know whatever. The length of the flight's probably what
two hours something like that. You're good. The storm will
be out of here by then. You're good.
Speaker 4 (01:08:03):
And then I go home that same night.
Speaker 2 (01:08:06):
You're good. But what does the European model say? Yeah,
what about your European model?
Speaker 18 (01:08:11):
European model says, you're good that by Saturday, the big
mess will be far east of that route. And again
there could be a few snow flurries or snow showers
for Alabama on Saturday.
Speaker 2 (01:08:21):
But uh no, you're You're good to go. How do
you like Sunday night and Anderson, Alabama?
Speaker 5 (01:08:26):
Hm?
Speaker 2 (01:08:27):
Well, Sunday night and Anderson a place to be. It's
North Alabama. How you feel about that?
Speaker 18 (01:08:33):
It's it's it's all, It's all over again. The impact
will be Friday. The impact will be Friday again. For
the Tennessee Valley hunts filled the shoulders. They could see
some impact into Saturday morning, but the weekend will be
just sunny and.
Speaker 2 (01:08:46):
Coldburn working out, Okay, I like, you know, the European model.
It was, it was coming to Europe. It was the
first one that said, hey, y'all, hold up what you got?
He said, hey, big over reaction here, Yeah, thank you,
James Vampa. Thanks guys, have a great day.
Speaker 5 (01:09:03):
You all right?
Speaker 2 (01:09:04):
The Voice of Reason And look, you need to go
to sources like James. I'll tell you there's some crazy
people out there. We'll be right back. Stay closer.
Speaker 1 (01:09:14):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, The Voice of Reason
in an unreasonable world, The Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 2 (01:09:37):
That's right, baby, all right, So eight minutes to the top.
I do want to We're about to give somebody else
a chance to win on the wonderful will of bundle,
bits and bucks.
Speaker 4 (01:09:50):
What's better than meat money?
Speaker 2 (01:09:53):
Uh, there's an opportunity for one thousand dollars on the wheel,
five hundred dollars on the wheel. There's bits, there's also bundles.
We will do it different this hour. We're gonna do
it every hour. So this hour we're gonna use the
text option. And that's eight eight eight six, big vox.
I'm going to ask you a question. The first person
(01:10:15):
that we get that texts the right answer on the
text option. Speedy's gonna grab your number because we can
see your numbers, and we're gonna call you and let
somebody spend the wheel for you. Okay, all right, So
here is the question, and then I I've got a
little something I need to do, so it'll give you
time to look over there. The first person that can
text the correct answer, and that's key. Can you name
(01:10:37):
Greg Burgess's grandchildren? There's four of them, they're first names.
Can you name them? Let me see if I can

looking at it? Have you been looking at it?
Speaker 5 (01:11:24):
Going?
Speaker 2 (01:11:24):
You know what I'm not doing?
Speaker 5 (01:11:25):

Speaker 2 (01:11:26):

all right, A little complicated.
Speaker 2 (01:12:57):
It's fun. It's fun. A better answer, right, well, I
mean they just text. Why would they answer?
Speaker 3 (01:13:03):
Well, all right, I don't answer numbers.
Speaker 15 (01:13:05):

it looks like Speedy's got Jennifer out of Nashville.

Speaker 6 (01:16:17):
Along those notes, y'all know I've got these Venezuelan neighbors.
Speaker 2 (01:16:20):
No I didn't know that.
Speaker 3 (01:16:21):
Okay, I got Venezuelan neighbors either. They speak Spanish.
Speaker 6 (01:16:24):
I'm walking up to one of the nice, nicer, older
ladies that lives in the right after right after the
New Year's.
Speaker 3 (01:16:35):
And I'm like, hey, and I try to be cool.
Speaker 6 (01:16:38):
I try to speak Spanish and I go police cooples

Speaker 3 (01:16:44):
Well she just looks at me like what is it?
What do you see? I'm like, yeah, well, please not me, died.
Speaker 2 (01:16:52):

You better listen up, you know, I say.
Speaker 16 (01:17:23):
Also, I'm gonna tell you you gotta find.
Speaker 1 (01:17:31):
The voice of reason in an unreasonable world. The Rick
Burchers Show.
Speaker 4 (01:17:37):
I'm telling you all right, here we go.
Speaker 2 (01:17:38):
Thanks for being with us. It is the debut of
the Rick Burgess Show. If you have not been with us,
you have missed a lot. Go back and grab those
archives on our YouTube channel, our podcast channel and grab
parts that you may have missed. Speedy, Greg Burgess, Adler
all here. We we're together the entire time, all five
(01:18:03):
hours now so and some of you get the show live,
some of you, you know, delayed, whatever the case may be.
We're glad that you are here. So some things that
you need to be aware of. The new website, rickburgesshow
dot com. The new number eight eight eight six big box.
That's also the same number used for texting. Okay, so
(01:18:24):
we've updated you on that. We've given you a tour
of the makeover of the studio. We played with the
new wheel of bundle bits and bucks, and we just
gave away five hundred dollars last hour. We'll do that
every hour on today's debut, and we'll do it periodically
going forward. So also on the YouTube channel today, the
(01:18:46):
first episode of our first documentary, The Camp House Business Summit,
Episode one, come into the YouTube channel today after the
live show ends, So be aware of that. That's something
else that you can and enjoy. Dicky Nadmire still to come.
We've got some updates still to come. But you know,
we haven't even looked back much because we've been checking
(01:19:08):
out the you know, the the redo of the studio,
all the funt a lot of fun and so you know,
if you remember, we have all not not Speedy, not
Greg and really not Adler either because he'd been working
on this studio. We've all been up here some over
the break because we had there's a lot to do
to get ready for the new show and so but
(01:19:30):
we were all gone away from each other for about
three weeks. So I knew this was going to be,
you know, a time of rest. You know, it had
been an emotional year all that. Okay, So we don't
even get out of the first weekend December the fourteenth. Okay,
(01:19:51):
so our last day work was the thirteenth, if you remember,
it was so boy was it. We all we all
know this world of adult children and you know, and
and I know we've all been there and Adler, it'll
come for you one day. You can't imagine that would
ever ever happen. You can't even imagine. And let's all
talk three guys here who have done the adult children thing.
(01:20:11):
When it first starts happening and everything's new, there's a
lot of coming over to mama, and you know, mama's
having to experience new things, like having to share traditions
with other people. You do when when when you have
your kids get married, and two of mine are married,
family in enlarges all of yours. The two Gregor are married.
(01:20:32):
And so this was the first year of you know,
cause the two sons that are married have now been
married for a little over a year. So first round
a few months after their wedding went good because it
was all on arion. Now is the weather going to
the in laws and and you know, and then one
(01:20:54):
of them has a job in you know, southern California,
and and and then you get the which you have
to acknowledge. He's been a good husband, love y'all. But
I've been away from my wife for three weeks. He
came to visit me once we live in New York City.
It's not an easy trip when I get back from
this gig only a few days before Christmas. Maybe I
(01:21:15):
think even Christmas Eve. Maybe we're just gonna stay in
New York and we're gonna do Christmas. Get it. And
you can't you get mad about that. I can't. He
can't get mad about that. And then you got young
Broderick who's married. I'm going to the in laws this time,
and he has in laws in Indiana. Okay, so so
you try, so you're trying to you help him, Mom,
(01:21:37):
we get through all this. And so this weekend had
been on the calendar. Hey, first weekend off, we're gonna
have Big Love come home from Atlanta, Young Broderick and
his bride, Caantastic Blake and Priscilla. They can't get here,
but we're gonna have them. We're gonna do Christmas. And
(01:21:57):
you think she didn't have everything planned. Oh, we had plans,
y'all wouldn't believe the plans.
Speaker 11 (01:22:04):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:22:04):
We go to see White Christmas, you know, at the
Historic Theater on Friday night, and then we get up
and we have we have a late breakfast together on
the fort. It's just going great. It's going great. Uh. Hey,
we go play pickleball. No, you didn't play played pickleball?
It sure did. Uh played a little pickleball that seemed
to go pretty well, you know, tolerable at one point?
(01:22:29):
Is it seems to happen? I tend to be always
accused of being overly competitive in these type situations. We
keep score well, and you know, let's face it, the
worst situation you can be in is when the round
comes that you and your wife on the same team,
you know, when you're rotating with the other people. You know,
really you think playing against your wife is the worst
(01:22:51):
case scenario. It really isn't. Because if they don't make
a shot or something before you can say anything like hey,
you killing us, you know, and and you just kiss.
That goes What did you just say? That goes well?
I said, I'm I'm I'm killing I'm killing it an
killing me. So anyway, everything's going great. We all go
get coffee. What's schedule for the evening? We're going to
(01:23:12):
the zoo to see the lights and it's just gonna
we can get us. We get up the next day,
we all going to church together, and everybody can go
back to where it hates great until Saturday afternoon. Everything
about vacation changed when apparently Sherry was going out to
the backyard. I'm keeping around upstairs, you know, with the
(01:23:36):
with the kids, and you know the and I wish
I had known. Apparently I did not know, as I've
been reminded over the last three weeks, that my wife
fell down the steps. Go and it's only five steps.
But when she fell down the steps, she said, you
foot rolled or something. She hit she hit pavers, which
(01:24:00):
because of the time of year, there's no mulch in there,
so they're basically just jagged rocks, and she hits hits
the pavers. Now I don't know this because I'm upstairs
where she went, you go downstairs, out the bottom into
the backyard. I don't know that she's injured and can't
get up up up, Where is she yucking it up?
(01:24:21):
Where's Mom? And I don't and I don't know this,
but my wife is is in pain, needing help, and
and I do not help because I don't know. Okay,
I thought she was going out to get the fire
pit ready or something. I didn't know she loves a
fire and so all of a sudden, almost like like
(01:24:49):
I can only put it this way because of the injury.
You ever seen these zombie movies and and and they're
coming like oh yeah, oh yeah. You wonder how they
catch anybody them because they don't move well. And I
love what they get you those I finally, I finally
stopped keeping around with everybody and think to myself, where's
my wife?
Speaker 4 (01:25:07):
You know, it's been a long time to the fire
pit and.
Speaker 2 (01:25:09):
Here and and I walked and she has somehow made
herself up the steps and she's like, I'm hurt. I'm hurting.
And that's how she's walking, she's dragging it. Oh yes,
well there's a reason you're like, why are you doing?
And my first thought, Look, I'm a burgess through and through,
so my first thought and a burgess, it's never a
(01:25:30):
burgess's first thought, you're really hurt bad. We never think
that now. We always tape it up. Hey we're good.
Hey we still going to zoo? And uh and so
can you go? Can you go? And she's like, I'm hurt.
I think I'm really hurt. And I'm thinking how long
was she abandoned? We don't really know the time period
(01:25:51):
because it seems to be growing every time it's told.
Speaker 7 (01:25:53):
But I was uncomfortable because I asked her that question
as we did, and and her response was, I was
out there for a minute.
Speaker 2 (01:26:00):
Uh, nobody knew I was out there laying down. Quote
quote was she said there was a point she could
not get up and was hollering for me. Oh red
and uh splash to where you're at. Yeah, yeah, are you?
Speaker 3 (01:26:15):
Are you serious?
Speaker 2 (01:26:18):
You know? And uh and so Clark, when we come back,
I'll tell you what happened next. And I'm like, what's
that sound like that? I said, I can't stand in
people across the streets of stupid dogs and uh.
Speaker 4 (01:26:33):
And I didn't know that was a sound of pain.
Speaker 2 (01:26:35):
Yeah, I do now looking back, remember hearing something, but
I never thought it would be. You know, Sherry is
down right, So we'll be right back.
Speaker 12 (01:26:46):
Then.
Speaker 1 (01:26:46):
I'll tell you this is the Rick Burgess Show, the
man who removed the phrase what's you no good? From society?
(01:27:08):
Rick Burgess?
Speaker 2 (01:27:10):
Are you all ready here we go?
Speaker 12 (01:27:12):
Come?
Speaker 2 (01:27:12):
I say it is the debut of the Rick Burgess Show. Speedy,
Greg Adler all here, and it is a big day.
Already have spun the wonderful will of Bundles, Vince and Bugs,
and we've had rock and Roll City land on that
(01:27:35):
and also Jennifer O to Nashville won five hundred dollars
a day. What's better than meat money? And we'll spend
again this hour. So be paying attention. And I notice
on the text line. You know, I know that sometimes
we all know out there. The beautiful thing about all
(01:27:55):
these different platforms is you can get a lot of information,
get a lot of feedback.
Speaker 4 (01:27:59):
Then the thing is that people can show how stupid
they are.
Speaker 11 (01:28:03):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:28:03):
And so somebody was texting, Oh, I see y'all ain't
taking no calls today. I ain't never heard of that.
Speaker 11 (01:28:09):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:28:10):
The caller that won in the very first hour today
was caller sixty. We're doing calls, and we're doing the
text option, and we're doing other things conspiracy theorist. But anyway,
so it's okay to say something and just try to
be just at least try to be factual. Well, so,
I see I ain't taking no calls. Why is that? Huh?
(01:28:32):
But anyway, text text only, that's weird. I ain't never
heard of that. But anyway, ground breaking, it's ground breaking. Yeah, okay, Uh,
so we ain't back to the story. So so anyway,
so Sherry has fallen. We don't know that. So me
and and two sons and and fantastic, I mean, where
(01:28:53):
we are it's this. I'm gonna get together and pick
the ball. That's not the movies, good Man, that brat
is a great in the backyard. It's and I don't
have no clue. I have no idea. So then when
she finally makes your way up how she got up
the steps, I have no idea. She's a tough, strong woman,
(01:29:14):
and I think this is another example. So anyway, you
know though, but I'm a burgess. So as soon as
she says, I don't know what happened. I lost my
foot and going down those steps, now I fell and
da da da day. But you're fine. Let me see,
let me see what's going on? Oh, I said, sprained ankle?
I said, I've had a million of those. You know,
you love that guy. They're supposed to be helping you
(01:29:36):
quick to say it too, And I was that guy.
Speaker 4 (01:29:39):
I sprained ankle.
Speaker 2 (01:29:40):
What that is? I said, so bad? All we can do, honey,
is just I said, And didn't go to zood nut
And uh, I said, And then and then you know,
then you have her children, you know, and her daughter
in law going you know, do you think maybe you
should take her to the hospital.
Speaker 5 (01:29:55):
Nah?
Speaker 1 (01:29:57):
Nah?
Speaker 2 (01:29:57):
So I looked down at our party. I said that
right there, that right there's a sprained ankle. I said, look,
mamma got sprained ankle. But we still and we're going
to do this and do that. And you know, in
my first thought, which it shouldn't have been, my first thought, hey,
she's actually put together the sun skool lesson. Is that
gonna be on me now.
Speaker 5 (01:30:15):
You know?
Speaker 2 (01:30:16):
But anyway, so, but but so we're we're we're looking
and and and thank good. I hate to be thankful
for a cut, but for her, she should be thankful.
I looked over at the other knee. And when I
looked at the other knee, have you ever had somebody
was cut so bad that it's not even bleeding? Oh deep?
Speaker 5 (01:30:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:30:37):
And I look over and I see nothing but like
white meat. No, no, just not even hardly any blood
at all. And as soon as I saw that, I said, well,
everything's changing. I said, you're got to mama, gonn to
have stitch, going to have stitches. Of course, Sherry always
says a stitch, I say, stitches. I've talked to you
about that before. What Is that some kind of Marshall County.
Speaker 3 (01:31:00):
Run.
Speaker 2 (01:31:00):
I always say, we got to have stitches. Yeah, I said, oh,
mom's gotta have stitches. And then everybody's like, what does
that mean? It means we got to go, we got
to take her to the hospital. Well it's a good
thing that I took her to the hospital since the
doctors came out and said, you realize your wife has
broken her foot? What? And I was like, what you said?
(01:31:20):
I said, that's a sprained ankle. They said, no, she
has a sprained ankle. Doctor Burgess, Uh, nice catch on that.
But she also has broken the fifth meta tarsal. She's
broken her foot when her foot went under her. Apparently
either the ankle or the foot was going to break.
Be glad it was the foot, not the ankle. The
ankle is sprained, but the foot is broken and she's
(01:31:42):
gonna have to have stitches. Well, I said, I know,
but stitch. Everybody back off. I made that call. So
so here here's that. You have the picture I sent
you out I do.
Speaker 3 (01:31:53):
It's a boot.
Speaker 2 (01:31:54):
So here here's the great They put her in this boot.
Well they'll boot people look at that boot. So now
basically you're married to a stormtrooper. Okay, sure, and and
you and I know, I know my thoughts should not
have been how would this impact my vacation? And you
know the first thing that craft in my mind, were
(01:32:14):
supposed to go hunting next week?
Speaker 5 (01:32:15):
Oh Rick?
Speaker 2 (01:32:16):
Not the summit? Yeah, I mean the business summit that
was that was that camp house episode one? Or a
YouTube channel after the show. That's not you with gloves on,
like you're going to be a doctor. No, that's that's
something that's actually that's something doctor thinks they know what
it's raining. But anyway, so you don't know about the eyes.
So so you start thinking how would this and it
shouldn't be what you think, how would this affect our lives?
(01:32:39):
And then and then I jumped to things like I
started answering as if I was the patient, and that did.
Speaker 5 (01:32:45):
Not go overwhell.
Speaker 2 (01:32:46):
By the way, uh, missus burgess, you think you think
you need crutches, that we don't need crutches. And then
they just will look they're looking. I said, we got
the boot, don't we, And they said, well, you know,
luckily it looks like that the break was clean. So
the boot as long as it are holding in place.
But she she may need crutches because it just happened,
and she might need crutches for certain things she'd be doing.
(01:33:07):
I said, we don't need crutches because you know what
I think, crutches means I may not be hunting, you know,
because you know what I You know, I start thinking
about because I'm incredibly compassionate. How independent will she be?
Speaker 16 (01:33:18):
Right?
Speaker 2 (01:33:19):
You know what I mean? Can I leave you? That's
the question, right, And so did you get to the refrigeration?
The number one question is is she independent enough that
I still hunt? But anyway, so are have the business
owning your second deer picture?
Speaker 5 (01:33:33):
Hey?
Speaker 2 (01:33:33):
Now look, then I start bringing up then I start
bringing up our livelihood. I said, you know, we got
to have that business on it no matter what I mean,
that's important. That's gonna be talk about stuff we're gonna
be doing there running you wouldn't have had the wheel
of bundle bits and bucks without it. So anyway, so
she she has gotten and then you hear this terrible
thing in the distance. Oh worse, it's six weeks, I said,
(01:33:54):
six weeks. They always go Now, we always were going
away into Jenia. I always yeah, And so I thought
everything that's Sherry is really independent. We did have the
business summit. She's doing fine with the boot except for
one thing. Now, I should be concerned about how it's
affecting her. I got that. Okay. Do you realize how
(01:34:15):
loud the velcrow is on these boots? That's for sure.
Speaker 4 (01:34:21):
So what happens is, so.
Speaker 2 (01:34:26):
What happens? You're sound asleep? Sound asleep? Okay, Now I
should just be happy that my wife can get up
and go to the restroom on her own. She doesn't
sleep in the boot, but she has to put the
boot on to go to the restroom, then take the
boot back off to get in the bell. Oh, so
here's what's happened. I mean, I had it. I don't
know what the cast of friends was doing in the dream,
but I was, I mean I was. This is me.
(01:34:47):
I'll be deep in the dream sleeping. What's and that's
that velve It is so loud. It's like it's got
a microphone on it. And and and I'm just r here,
what's happening? And uh, and it's that stupid velcrow. So
there's what However many times she has to get up
in the night, I'm awake, she say anything She didn't
(01:35:11):
say a word. You just just picture the darkness.
Speaker 3 (01:35:18):
What's that?
Speaker 2 (01:35:18):
What's happening?
Speaker 1 (01:35:20):
Where is he?
Speaker 2 (01:35:21):
I mean, I know it's not possible that that velcrow
is amped, but it feels like it's got a sound system.
Speaker 4 (01:35:29):
That's still going on.
Speaker 2 (01:35:30):
Guys, hey, I went on a few minutes ago.
Speaker 4 (01:35:34):
Are you used to it?
Speaker 3 (01:35:35):
By No, it was I'm so sorry your wife broke
her place. She's having to wear a boot and it's
inconveniencing you.
Speaker 2 (01:35:44):
Right, we got a new show. We got knock that.
Speaker 1 (01:35:52):
Right, this is the Rick Burgess Show. The truth needs
(01:36:12):
no apology, no Rick for the show.
Speaker 2 (01:36:18):
All Right, we're back, Thanks for being with us. Now
here's the good news. We've already done this twice and
as far as the show how it rolls out, this
is our three. So before we're done, another person is

you want to spend. Now Greg has the hot hand
(01:36:40):
today is he's already spun five hundred dollars on the
wheel of bundle bits and bucks in Rock and Roll City.
So which is worth my goodness, who knows?
Speaker 3 (01:36:52):
Riceless?
Speaker 2 (01:36:52):
So anyway, somebody else gets a chance before we're done,
so be paying attention for that. I also want to
remind you that if you did not join the over
two million people that joined the Association of Mature American
Citizens in twenty twenty four, you need to go do

dot com. All right, so we're kicking around vacation stories
in Christmas and holidays. We've got a lot of those
to do today. Dicky Nadmyer will be checking in before
the day is over. So, Adler, you are the only one.
Grace got the grandkid, Speedy's got the grandkid, but you
actually have children that are still that magical age when
(01:38:40):
it comes to this time of year. I think I
saw you over the break when we were up here
working a little bit, and the word that I used
was wonderful chaos. Is that accurate?
Speaker 3 (01:38:51):
Absolutely, it's mania.
Speaker 6 (01:38:53):
I got a one year old son and a four
year old daughter and it's just Christmas. We had actually
three chris We had Christmas at our house, Christmas at
Aaron's parents house, and then Christmas at my house one day,
so literally three different Christmases. Wow, funny story from from
the break I've got. Actually, I am headed to Christmas
(01:39:16):
on Christmas Eve, or I'm headed to church on Christmas
Eve going to the candle light service.
Speaker 2 (01:39:22):
Gonna got to do the candle light not the best
for small kids, but right tough fire. They hand you fire,
They literally hand you fire.
Speaker 6 (01:39:32):
And it was actually just me and Ruby. Ezra had
some green stuff going on. We're like, well, we'll just
see how he's doing.
Speaker 3 (01:39:38):
We'll leave him home. So it's just me and Ruby,
Me and uh, the four year old daughter, and we
are headed to church.
Speaker 6 (01:39:45):
And earlier that day, I had been taking care of
stuff around the house and I have a pair of
shoes that are my working in the yard shoes. Case
case's case, she stepped in something. Sure, grass stains, yes,
any of that. These shoes are the worst shoes that
(01:40:06):
anyone has ever worn. Uh, Like homeless people would be embarrassed. Yes,
the tread, the tread is literally dangling off of it,
like in strings off the tread of the bottom. But
they're great because you can just like you just throw
them on not worry about anything.
Speaker 2 (01:40:24):
Probably features a little dried animal dung.
Speaker 3 (01:40:26):
Yes, So I am rushing.
Speaker 6 (01:40:31):
I'm rushing to get ready for Christmas Eve church, and
you I was in a rush, and I am walking
in with Ruby, who's dressed in a very nice Christmas
precious precious, and I take the first step onto the
curb to walk up to the church and I look
down and I'm wearing those shoes. I'm wearing my landscaping.
(01:40:55):
The tread is hanging off. I look like a homeless man, y'all. People,
I'm walking in with this little girl and people are like,
oh my goodness, do we need to lay the money down?
Speaker 3 (01:41:05):
Is this like a Christmas shoes type situation?
Speaker 4 (01:41:09):
Tournament are getting ruby off to the side.
Speaker 2 (01:41:11):
Is you your daddy?
Speaker 14 (01:41:13):
Right?
Speaker 2 (01:41:13):
Do you know me?
Speaker 13 (01:41:14):
Man?
Speaker 6 (01:41:15):
And so I'm my these shoes like Christmas shoes type situation.
Speaker 2 (01:41:19):
Some reason I want to know is your hair up
or down? That means a lot to me right now.
Speaker 3 (01:41:23):
It was I think it was up.
Speaker 2 (01:41:24):
Okay, yeah it's down. We've had somebody's napped the child, y'all.
Speaker 5 (01:41:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:41:28):
It looks like a van.
Speaker 3 (01:41:30):
Yeah, he's in a van of a very black van.
Speaker 2 (01:41:34):
You know that so different.
Speaker 6 (01:41:37):
So that was that was my y'all. I just had
to go through it just to be like, yeah, I'm here,
I'm here, Okay.
Speaker 7 (01:41:43):
They do they smell like grass and like so when
you sat down in church, could you smell your shoes?
Speaker 6 (01:41:48):
They were comically bad. Shoes were comically bad?
Speaker 11 (01:41:53):
Wow?
Speaker 3 (01:41:53):
And uh so yeah, that was that was an interesting story. No,
I was there. I was like, I don't have time
to go home.
Speaker 2 (01:42:02):
I'm late. That explains why they keeps putting that twenty
in your hand.
Speaker 3 (01:42:06):
Right, So that laid down money and.
Speaker 6 (01:42:09):
Uh I got through the candle lighting, no problem, no fire, no.
Speaker 3 (01:42:13):
Fire, no problem.
Speaker 4 (01:42:16):
You didn't catch didn't have your shoes at all.
Speaker 3 (01:42:19):
Lord's Supper.
Speaker 6 (01:42:19):
Hard to explain that to a four year old little girl, real,
real difficult. In fact, when I didn't offer her some,
she got mad, don't understand. And then I did offer something,
she said that she didn't want it, so, you know,
hard to make her happy.
Speaker 3 (01:42:33):
That's fine, I'm fine. I'm a homeless man.
Speaker 2 (01:42:36):
If you think it's creepy for a little kid at
the Baptist church, be at the Catholic church and tell
him about it.
Speaker 3 (01:42:42):
Right, I am a little bit considered. Oh they were
so bad. I am concerned my one year old and
it was it was magical.
Speaker 6 (01:42:51):
We we you know, magic All the amount of plastic
that we are contributing to landfills after this Christmas is
I mean, I should be find for the amount of
plastic that's gonna end up from my house in landfills.
Speaker 12 (01:43:04):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (01:43:05):
But I am concerned a little bit that my one
year old thinks that Christmas is about the birth of
Elmo and not the birth of Jesus.
Speaker 3 (01:43:16):
He is he's in his Almo phase right now. Yes.
Speaker 6 (01:43:22):
In fact, uh, let's see if I must am I
still playing music, I am, let me kill that music.
Here is uh, here's as Ezra that is in his
he's got his Elmo shoes on.
Speaker 3 (01:43:31):
Wait, that's that's Sherry's foot.
Speaker 6 (01:43:33):
I'm sorry, so here here is uh he's talking about Actually.
Speaker 3 (01:43:42):
He figured out there's an echo in our stairs, but
here he.
Speaker 2 (01:43:44):
Is in his shoes. Oh my god.
Speaker 3 (01:43:49):
Look so he figured out the echo in the.
Speaker 2 (01:43:57):
St that's good. So he thinks it's baby the major.
Speaker 6 (01:44:01):
Well, we were working on it. There were so many
Elmo things. I think he thought this was a celebration
of Elmo.
Speaker 2 (01:44:08):
Okay, so but man any chance taking their slippers off him.
Speaker 3 (01:44:12):
He was initially scared of him, like he was like.
Speaker 2 (01:44:16):
Yeah, and you thought he was gonna be so excited,
But then he eventually.
Speaker 3 (01:44:27):
So Yeah, the next day he got into him, and
now he has not taken the almost shoes off.
Speaker 2 (01:44:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:44:33):
And I've heard the word Elmo shoes about one hundred times.
Everything is uh, he's learning how to talk. You guys
heard him there, Everything is beach. Apples knows right now,
Oka beach is any kind of geographic thing at all,
like beach, beach, beach.
Speaker 3 (01:44:48):
I'm like, buddy, that's the hill on the side of
the interstate. That's not a beach. Okay, you don't know
what a beach is.
Speaker 6 (01:44:54):
Evidently, Apples is every kind of Christmas ornament because you
can see how it's it's miss you know, it's apple
on a tree in the ornament. I'm like, please, don't
stop eating. Stop eating that that is that is a
plastic ball off of our tree.
Speaker 3 (01:45:08):
Please. Nose is anyone with a nose.
Speaker 6 (01:45:14):
He likes to point out anytime anyone new comes into
a room that they do, in fact have a nose.
Speaker 2 (01:45:20):
Yeah for the paper with big No, they're self conscious
anyway now looking at your nose. I don't know why.
Speaker 10 (01:45:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:45:28):
But it was magic.
Speaker 1 (01:45:28):
Oh, it was great.
Speaker 3 (01:45:29):
It was fantastic.
Speaker 6 (01:45:31):
Except all my Christmas lights. I bought everything. I guess
three years ago, all of my lights, my trees, everything.
I guess we just did that because everything is now
going out. I'm like, Okay, that has a string out
that has all Okay, well, I guess so, because everything's fading,
like the energy inside my body.
Speaker 2 (01:45:51):
Yeah, you're little. I mean we talked about this before.
You're in the mode now where honestly, going back to
work is where you go to risk. Oh yes, the fact.
Speaker 4 (01:46:01):
Yeah, I mean, you know, it's not even a funny
thing to say.
Speaker 2 (01:46:04):
It's it's true, it is.
Speaker 4 (01:46:06):
I can't wait to get back to work.
Speaker 5 (01:46:07):
I can rest.
Speaker 3 (01:46:09):
I walked a kid back to their bed at least
four times last night. I heard that hurts, so I
needed it so bad, Honey, I was up here until seven.
Oh yeah, I got up here real early.
Speaker 6 (01:46:20):
Yeah, so you know, go home to take a nap,
come back, Yeah, there.
Speaker 18 (01:46:24):
You go go.
Speaker 5 (01:46:25):
Sure.
Speaker 3 (01:46:25):
But it was a great It was a great season.
And if I'm glad to be back here with you guys.
Speaker 2 (01:46:29):
Yeah, all right, we'll be back. Or The Rick Burgess
Show coming up running for this.
Speaker 1 (01:46:34):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who has
never been fashionably late to anything. Rick Bushes.
Speaker 2 (01:46:57):
Hey, we got to get there and get settled. All right,
here we go more to do today. It is the
Rick Burgess Show. The debut the website Rick Burgessshow dot
com wearing some of the new swag, and you had
a huge response to that when we did a little
soft opening over the break. The store has restocked and yes,
the link is working now. This click shop at Rick
(01:47:21):
Burgessshow dot com if you want to wear the team colors.
So we've kind of given you a tour of the
revamp studio things we're going to be doing. The fund
that is ahead and currents don't forget today we do
have our first documentary, the Camp House Business Summit Episode one.
(01:47:42):
Look for that on the YouTube channel today and enjoy that.
Look for more content continuing and we'll keep rolling up
more episodes of that, but then we'll do some other stuff.
Definitely plan to do that a good bit, all right.
So one of the things that's kind of been really
really popular, and we've done it every hour is, uh,
what's better than a will of meat at the will
(01:48:02):
of money? Uh? It is the will of bundles, bits
and bunny. How about some money?
Speaker 8 (01:48:17):
Any money?
Speaker 2 (01:48:19):
Miney money, money, money, money, money, what show the money.
We've had two people already win today, one by phone call, uh,
and that was they did not win money, but it
landed on Rock and Roll City so the remember the
will has bits on it. It has bundles, which is
(01:48:41):
either ricking Bubba store, and then it has bugs, which
which is money. Yeah, yeah, what B, B and B
thank you? Uh and uh so so it's there. Uh
and then we had somebody win by text by answering
the question right about Greg's grandkids, which we'll get to
about Christmas Eve in the family beach trip coming up.
Uh So, now we're back to calls again. Here's the
(01:49:01):
new number if you don't know it, eight eight eight
six big Box. That's also the same one to text
with as well. But now we're calling. So we did
we did sixty hour one. What do you think? Uh?
What are you thinking right now?
Speaker 3 (01:49:14):
A lot of counting?
Speaker 5 (01:49:15):
Four?
Speaker 2 (01:49:16):
That was a four? What just four?
Speaker 3 (01:49:19):
What what's half of sixty?
Speaker 4 (01:49:21):
That'd be thirty thirty?
Speaker 3 (01:49:23):
Boy? That might work?
Speaker 2 (01:49:25):
Okay, okay, can I ask a will a technical question?
All right? So rock and Roll City that's been one today.
Does that mean that's.
Speaker 3 (01:49:32):
Off the board?
Speaker 5 (01:49:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:49:34):
Or does that mean that somebody came out. If that's
the case, five hundreds off the board. Well, but we
have another five hundred. We got two slots. Yeah, No,
I don't think anything.
Speaker 7 (01:49:41):
So everything, because they could win that again. Yeah, okay, good,
I mean we're only spending one time. Were there's sixteen
slots on the wheel, we could do sixteen.
Speaker 4 (01:49:49):
All right, let's do that, all right, collars?
Speaker 2 (01:49:51):
Pretty good? I just count.
Speaker 12 (01:49:53):
Melay, I said by Greg.
Speaker 2 (01:49:58):
Now that's right. By the way, I've noticed each other
looking at him. I've noticed on the texting option. We
also have new basketball goals in here. Yeah, and everybody's
watching every time y'all shoot in the break to see
how well you at. I'm not doing real good, Adler.
They have you at seventy eight out of ninety five.
Speaker 3 (01:50:14):
Did you take it?
Speaker 2 (01:50:14):
Did you shoot that? I mean you shot that?
Speaker 3 (01:50:17):
That sounds right.
Speaker 2 (01:50:19):
He's actually the one. Wait a minute, is that your number? Greg?
They've got you five out of twenty. I don't think
that's right. And then six out of thirteen, not six
out of thirteen. Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 5 (01:50:27):
Right.
Speaker 2 (01:50:27):
Here we go looking for looking for callers sixteen, there's one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten,
and then one two, three four five.
Speaker 4 (01:50:42):
Here we go, Hey, Rick Burgess, show what's your name?
Speaker 2 (01:50:45):
Where you calling from?
Speaker 13 (01:50:48):
Christy?
Speaker 2 (01:50:49):
All right, Christy, right, Christy? Here we go who do
you want to spend the wheel for you Adler, Greg
Speedy or me.
Speaker 13 (01:50:57):

Speaker 13 (01:51:10):
We're in Spartanburg, but I'm originally the pride of Cedar Spring.
Speaker 2 (01:51:13):
Oh really, so you lived there too? All right?
Speaker 4 (01:51:16):
Here we go spending for Christy?
Speaker 2 (01:51:18):

Speaker 3 (01:51:18):
What are you hoping for?
Speaker 2 (01:51:19):

Speaker 5 (01:51:20):
Of course?
Speaker 13 (01:51:21):
Here an bring you the money?
Speaker 2 (01:51:22):
No wammies.
Speaker 4 (01:51:24):
All right, let's let's see what happens.
Speaker 2 (01:51:27):
Greg really IS's got the hot hand.
Speaker 17 (01:51:33):
Look at five hundred dollars Christy for.
Speaker 2 (01:51:51):
Rick?
Speaker 5 (01:51:52):
You better spending.
Speaker 2 (01:51:53):
I'm hot today. We're gonna have a down well, yes,
say going to the money badger too quick?
Speaker 17 (01:52:02):
Wow?
Speaker 2 (01:52:03):
Well expecting that?
Speaker 5 (01:52:07):
All right?
Speaker 14 (01:52:08):
All right?
Speaker 2 (01:52:09):
So, uh, Christie, I guess since you're in Spartanburg, are
you a tuber? Are a streamer? How do you get
the show?
Speaker 8 (01:52:15):
Uh?
Speaker 13 (01:52:16):
You too?
Speaker 8 (01:52:16):
Absolutely?
Speaker 5 (01:52:17):
Okay?
Speaker 4 (01:52:18):
So what do you think about the makeover of the studio?
Speaker 12 (01:52:21):
Oh?
Speaker 10 (01:52:21):
I love it?
Speaker 17 (01:52:22):
Right?
Speaker 13 (01:52:22):
The color choices looking looking nice out there?
Speaker 5 (01:52:25):
All right?
Speaker 2 (01:52:25):
Well, all right, Christian, we'll put we'll put you on hold.
How many dogs you got there? How many dogs you
got there?
Speaker 10 (01:52:31):
Just too well?
Speaker 2 (01:52:34):

All right, let's put you on ho.
Speaker 4 (01:52:48):
There, Rick, I'm on fire. You're go ahead to bench

Speaker 2 (01:52:51):
Greg? You got the hot Do you see how close
those of you that couldn't see it? That's twice I'm
talking about. It almost landed on the Blaze TV subscription.
I'm talking about out. Greg just stood there and that
thing barely clipped on to five hundred bucks.
Speaker 5 (01:53:05):
It did?
Speaker 2 (01:53:05):
It was you got that touch. Yeah, you can do
good at basketball, But I was good at that, all right.
So I've been paying attention to this new basketball go through.
Did Adler? Was he because he was the proponent for it? Well,
he has one. That's what I mean. Is this his thing?
Speaker 3 (01:53:23):
It is scam.
Speaker 4 (01:53:24):
I'm I'm put this in here so I can do
this better.
Speaker 3 (01:53:26):
Than the guy I'm practicing at home thinking about y'all, like, yes,
he's gonna never catch up with me. I'm too far
ahead now.
Speaker 6 (01:53:33):
I want y'all everybody to know, there's no amount of
time y'all can practice this basketball thing.
Speaker 3 (01:53:39):
I'm too far ahead.
Speaker 2 (01:53:40):
Okay in the game, which reminds basketball because you're known
for it, which reminds me I too have. I'm working
on a little something and if I get good at it,
I'm gonna bring it here and challenge everybody else. Oh
it's really hard, though, It's really hard. I've been trying
to get it over putting more physically, almost like the
(01:54:01):
basketball thing, but physically it's something you do. Are we
punching that? By the way, By the way.
Speaker 4 (01:54:09):
Speaking of.
Speaker 2 (01:54:12):
Have y'all seen the red ball? Oh yeah, yeah, oh yeah?
R r yeah, Hey, hard hard to do? You have one? Yes,
we took. We took to at least, bought it for
the beach vacation. Thought the kids might like it. Of
course they couldn't do it, but it was also I look,
Mary Hollis had it on. She's not even that little harmy.
Speaker 4 (01:54:36):
So but the kids loved it. But but you won't
do it till you get better.
Speaker 2 (01:54:40):
I wake you this its it's difficult and coordination. Yeah,
that left, My dang left just killing it. Your left
is all messed up, you remember. But anyway, I'm practicing
before I bring it there because I won't be the
best one at it.
Speaker 3 (01:54:53):
That's a good plan. That's what I'm doing with the basketball.
Speaker 2 (01:54:55):
Okay. By the way, in the break, I'm going best
out of team. I mean basketball. A lot of talks
in there. Yeah, I mean, I mean a lot of talk,
all right, but I mean.
Speaker 3 (01:55:06):
I'm a little bit nervous. And now that doesn't count.
Speaker 2 (01:55:08):
So this thing has you can turn it on. It
has noise and everything. Okay, yeah, I belise I never
turned it on. I don't know how. If you're leaving
us any part of the show, you miss the daily archives,
you're there on the YouTube channel or the podcast channel.
Speaker 4 (01:55:22):
If you're staying with us, we go Christmas Eve.
Speaker 2 (01:55:24):
Greg and Leeley Bopp and Leey hosted hosted this year, and.
Speaker 4 (01:55:32):
We'll talk about that when The Rick Burgess Show continues.
Speaker 1 (01:55:34):
Right for this, this is The Rick Burgess Show, big
Bucks Entertainment, Preece Sam's The Rick Burgess Show with Speedy
(01:55:59):
Greg Burget Yes, Edie Van I'd love and Rick Booche.
Speaker 2 (01:56:05):
Thank you again. We're ready to go. It is a
brand new hour, and again this hour, somebody gonna get
a chance to have one of the guys here on
the show, and the real Greg Burgess, he's got the
hot hand right now on the wonderful will of bundles,
bits and bucks. What's better than can meets money. You
want to win money, pick money. So what we've had,
(01:56:28):
we've made. We've done it three times now. We're gonna
not gonna do it every hour obviously because we'll all
go broke, but we're gonna continue to do it down fact.
But for the kickoff it's every hour, and we've already
given away five hundred dollars to two different people in
Rocky City Jam. So so it's it's a hot hand
and somebody else will get another chance this hour. So
(01:56:48):
we've been recapping, uh and hopefully updating you new website,
Rick Burgess Show dot com. The store is operating if
you want to get some of the new swag. We've
got some cool stuff there. You know, everybody said speedy
really really seems to really like it.
Speaker 11 (01:57:03):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:57:03):
You know that by the way, that hurt just a
little bit. It's hurt me so much. I was so excited.
I ordered from the store. I said, hey, I'd love
to give everybody on the show, you know, mug a
T shirt, a sweatshirt like I'm wearing a hat.
Speaker 11 (01:57:20):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:57:20):
And I think there was even something else, wasn't there
or is that hogging?
Speaker 10 (01:57:24):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:57:24):
Yeah, a beanie? A beanie? I had a coffee muggy stolen. Yeah,
but no, I just got to hear. Mine's in the
break room. Don't eveybody take it? I left it in there.
And okay, so anyway, and and so I even sent
out a little text, Remember my little text. Yeah, hey guys,
everybody's got Yeah, everybody's got a little something on their desk. Yeah.
I fired up. I knew it. I didn't know detail,
(01:57:45):
but I knew it had to be some story. So
I popped by to work with the new equipment a
little bit yesterday and I look over on one of
the vox seats and their speedy stuff. He loved it.
He took it out of his audience and then left
it in a chair. Yeah, you didn't want to clutter office.
I tried to get in front of it because I
was proud of it and thank you.
Speaker 7 (01:58:07):
And I when I got home to get out of
the truck and go in, I was so excited to
take it into show Terry and I looked back there
and I went you and I left it sitting in
one of the box seats on the way out. I
just had stuff in my hands and I forgot so
I tried to get ahead of it and text the
group and I said, hey, I love it so much,
I've forgot it. But I folded it all up.
Speaker 2 (01:58:27):
He was ready to go. You threw the bus.
Speaker 10 (01:58:29):
You know what?
Speaker 4 (01:58:29):
You know what I thought of in the story?
Speaker 2 (01:58:31):
Either that I know you take something story story.
Speaker 4 (01:58:35):
Either later today or sometime this week.
Speaker 2 (01:58:37):
We'll get to it. If we don't get to it today.
My first thought, you know, my first thought was he's
mad about the truck. Well, we do need to talk.
We'll get we'll get to the boy. So anyway, uh,
let's go back to the Burgess family. We're bouncing around.
We'll get to the Wilburns too. We're bouncing around. So
it's been so long ago, it's hard to it's hard
(01:58:58):
to remember. But anyway, so when our mother and father,
I'm talking about Greg now our mother and father. It
was it was standard, even when you like you tried
to even tell people you know in your family when
they became adults and getting married and all that, hey,
Christmas Eve. And it's not sustainable. I mean they have
to do things with their new in laws too. Christmas
Eve has always kind of been the burgess's gathering and
(01:59:20):
and so you know, we don't do Christmas Day, but
we do Christmas Eve, and mom and dad hosted that
for oh ever since the our kids were little up
till so, I've hosted once, You've hosted once, and then
Chandler hosted once, so up to three years ago that
they were still hosting, and of course they got to
where they couldn't. Of course Dad's passed on now. So anyway,
(01:59:42):
so we want to keep these traditions going. And so
and I felt so bad. I don't. Hey, Lely, I
love you, my my sister in law. I mean, you're
you're so we're just wonderful. But I just know, because
I'm married to one two when you're hosting, oh yeah,
woe to the husband. Whoa woe to the husband. You
(02:00:03):
got to get everything ready and you're hosting Christmas Eve
that's a big I mean, that's that's the show. Yeah,
I mean, I mean in our family, that's the show.
When that's when you're called to the big leagues with
with five trees up, Oh my god. Then just stuff
I'd never seen. I don't know where it came from.
And uh, I mean it like a Hallmark special when
(02:00:23):
you walked in. But you got me at that big tree.
How about that thing that I rested and and and
really showed myself. But it ended up nice. All all
the years, it didn't start out all the years of
you talking about this tree. I had it. I had
it undersized. Yeah, when I when I and I and
I even tried to call this because I know, because
I'm married to a woman who who is a host.
(02:00:46):
You know, we all when you're the host family. Everybody
wanted to pull around and me go in the back door.
I said, we don't need to go in the back door. Well,
Sherry had a boot on. I had a boot on
because you now we're injured.
Speaker 5 (02:00:58):
A love this.
Speaker 2 (02:00:58):
I had to put the dogs up, right. Did you
know they had been scratching everybody's car up everything, you know,
they bight and tire. Yeah, so jump up on side
of it. So and that was a quicker route. But
I said, and was correct. I said, Lisa wants us
coming in that front door. Yes, everything was geared through
the front Everything's geared through the front door. We can't
do this. And then basically she said, y'all got to go. Remember,
so I look here from the whole crowd walking around,
(02:01:19):
And the only bad part everything went perfect is Ellis
had the flu, the straight up flu. He ran high
fever for like a week.
Speaker 5 (02:01:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:01:27):
We were waiting on Marion to get it, which she
never did, so they couldn't come to the gathering. Taylor
and Kelsey and Marion and Ellis couldn't come. Now, they
did end up going to the beach, which was great,
but that would have been perfect if we could have
had that. Only the only fact we didn't get it's
hard to get everybody there now. Yeah, and of course
then and Brody was off in Indiana. Yeah, you know,
it's so we we we scrounged up enough of us.
(02:01:47):
But the food was phenomenal. Uh we there there. I
think there's probably gonna be a point where somebody it
might be rfkjun Okay, okay, that's gonna outlaw Lee Lea's
coffee punch. That stuff. Yeah, if you if you want
health and just take healthy and put that out the door.
(02:02:09):
What would he say about it? I'll tell you what
I want to get rid of that read. Let me
tell you that coffee and what it is is how
she holds it. So we've already eaten so much. Yeah,
were full, and then we bring the coffee punch. And
then the coffee punch comes out and it always makes
your head tickle just a little bit, and you're just
kind of like, I'm too far. We had somebody hauled
off in the ambulance one year. It took somebody, I
(02:02:31):
mean that, and then it took nearly to Lisa's dad.
Speaker 5 (02:02:34):
He had that.
Speaker 2 (02:02:35):
They had to go to the mercery. Yeah, that's a
really funny story. I know it doesn't sound like it,
but he was. He was fine. He sends past but this, Yeah,
I'll tell it later, But it's a funny story tied
to that. But well, not to get off subject, but
it but it went great, and I thought, you know,
the fellowship was great, the weather was a great day.
Speaker 11 (02:02:54):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (02:02:55):
About Lisa's twist on the dirty signer, I like that
a lot give give it to me. Okay, I like
that a lot. It's Bingo dirty center. So you got
to get get the Bengo cards down. We even got
on him crankers with the little Bingo balls with the
numbers on it and whoever you know, Bingo's first gets
first pick and then and we don't clear the cards
every time somebody wins, because you do it take for
refor right, because once it's the one start winning, then
(02:03:17):
this falls. But you that's how you instead of drawing
a number to when you pick, you had to get Bingo.
That's not bad and got called down as usually. Remember
when Dad was still alive, I caused the ruckus at
the memory care for by saying people were cheating. Yeah,
and uh, of course they wanted us to check and
see because you've got that little Yeah yeah, Rick, that's
(02:03:39):
completely it's a little different here, right.
Speaker 4 (02:03:41):
Well, I thought that was a good twist. At one time.
Speaker 2 (02:03:44):
I thought Cissy was cheating very well. I think she
may have been. Yeah, but look I went to Leeleigh,
who was in charge. Did you call R six straight up?
That are okay, there's not a hard did you call six?
And uh?
Speaker 4 (02:03:59):
And I didn't think she did you know, you have
that little thing that you you go by.
Speaker 2 (02:04:03):
So she had it covered.
Speaker 5 (02:04:04):
She did.
Speaker 2 (02:04:05):
I think she saw something she wanted to steal.
Speaker 5 (02:04:06):
She went for it.
Speaker 2 (02:04:07):
But that's fine. I mean, more power to her.
Speaker 7 (02:04:09):
Right, So we had that and but this this party,
it was the punch list that almost killed Greg Man
because every day he was going home to something else
to do.
Speaker 2 (02:04:20):
Did anybody even go upstairs? No, that was off limits.
Was still under construction. Okay, where you were working. That's
still we're in the middle of doing some different things,
and that that part not it's finished. Let me tell
your wonderland downstairs, your house still up, he still up,
still turned on. She's you know, at least it said,
she goes. We were going five days. That's five days
we could have looked at it. We're gonna make up
(02:04:41):
for that, right, so we can look at it. And
we went to all this trouble. We might as well
look at it at least to the end of the month. Right.
Let me tell you what you're going to discover. Because
we took hours down Friday. What was Friday? What was Friday? Uh,
the third, You'll never forget it. And so so we
were taking it down and you know what I thought
(02:05:02):
about when I was up in these trees, because we
have to have real trees, and I was trying to
get the lights that had been wrapped around under this,
I thought to myself, Christmas decorations, and while we continue
to do it is the same reason people continue to
have babies. You forget about it, you do, you forget
the pain, you forget the agony, and you say we'll
(02:05:22):
do this again. But while you're taking it down, you're saying,
I'll never do this ever, never, ever, never will I
do this again.
Speaker 5 (02:05:29):
Ever.
Speaker 2 (02:05:30):
We started taking ours down at eight thirty am and
we finished at eight thirty nine pm. All the Christmas
wonderland and two real trees and lights around every limb,
so many Christmas ornaments? Where do these even come from?
They all have special meaning? I got somebody even put out.
You're telling me this trout has special meaning? What's this trout?
Speaker 5 (02:05:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:05:54):
You've been that time, y'all to put trout and find
I said, we haven't done that in fifteen years.
Speaker 7 (02:05:58):
Goofy and a son of hat tried something different with
my our Christmas trees that I've never tried before. I
know we don't have time now at some point we
pulled it off. But the story of the Christmas tree,
that's always been a discussion.
Speaker 2 (02:06:09):
Oh that's what listen, spitty. I felt in the ceiling
twice because of it. But Greg, your house was so beautiful.
He's got a nice Oh yeah, yeah, I mean Greg, No,
he was beautiful.
Speaker 3 (02:06:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:06:20):
I made sure everybody saw the mult because they won't nobody.
Nobody cared about it, you know. And I made sure
they cared about because you saw that twenty bags I
had in the back of the second round. Yeah, everybody
was walking by, they weren't noticing the mall.
Speaker 3 (02:06:30):
Nobody cared.
Speaker 2 (02:06:31):
I got finding right now, it's hard to go what's left.
Speaker 4 (02:06:34):
You don't get a look by the way you say
about that mulch. But anyway, it went great.
Speaker 1 (02:06:38):
Is the Rick Burchers Show broadcasting from the Wheel World,
The Rick Purchased Show.
Speaker 2 (02:07:00):
Yeah, yeah, it's been fun today, the debut, and we
have had a blast. Still before the hour's over, somebody
will get another spend on the brand new will of bundles,
bits and bucks.
Speaker 4 (02:07:15):
Money, and two people have won five hundred dollars.
Speaker 2 (02:07:17):
Apiece already today. The next one might as well be
you all right, So let's talk about my store dot com.
Mystore dot com. You know that they're they immediately Lyndell
and then said, hey, we're in on the new show
and we're so glad and we will hopefully turn the
(02:07:37):
page here in America and get Trump back into office.
I know that's all of us, well not all of us,
but those of us with sincere are excited about that
because we've tried the other and it wasn't great. Uh So, anyway,
you need to spend money with companies that support where
we're headed, and not those giant tech websites. Many of
(02:07:59):
the big stores, and you know some of the other
unfriendly retailers that like are deciding what we can and
can't have on the shelf based on their political preferences.
Speaker 4 (02:08:09):
So why don't you go check out this?
Speaker 2 (02:08:10):
Bypass all this and go to my store dot com,
use the promo code big vox, and you'll save on
all the merchandise you've hearst talked to Lyndell and and
him supporting American entrepreneurs and trying to bring manufacturing back
to our country. Mystore dot com offers over five hundred
great products from companies that don't have a way to
(02:08:31):
the market and they can't get their products to us,
but Lyndale gives them the platform to do that. So
if you'd like to find out more. I mean it
runs the gamut. I mean we've got automotive, bath, beauty,
books and movies, clothing, food, drink, garden, patio, home improvement,
household essentials, kitchen dining, pets, faith based products, sports and outdoors,
(02:08:54):
toys and games. So why don't you go right now
to my store dot com, use the promo code old
big Box and save money big right now at mystore
dot com, or just use our link that we have
at Rick Burgessshow dot com under sponsors. All right, so
we're talking about Christmas Eve, and then we'll get some
phone calls with you too. We're going to hear from
(02:09:15):
the Wilburns and what happened there, and then we'll try
to find out what some of your traditions are and
maybe what you did, because we haven't talked to each
other since the holidays. So one of the things while
we were there, and you and Lisa were outstanding host
and hostess. It was a wonderful day for the entire family.
I know it came with a lot of work and
nearly killed you. So thank you for that. So you know,
(02:09:39):
I'm still and I can tell that my two sons
that are married, and they've only been married a little
over a year, they sensed the pressure when they're around me.
I'm like, hey, Speedy's got a grandson, Greg's got four grandkids.
I'm older than both of them. How much don't you
y'all think I'm gonna be around?
Speaker 5 (02:10:00):
Come on?
Speaker 2 (02:10:00):
So anyway, I try not to dominate Greg's grandkids because
they're his there. You know, I'm a I'm a great uncle.
But it's not the same thing.
Speaker 5 (02:10:08):
Man.
Speaker 2 (02:10:08):
Look, yeah, I know, but I come in a little
hot sometimes because I just love him some dang much.
But so and and I'm willing, you know, to Basically,
they're like I said before, a great uncle has less responsibility,
yeah than a grandfather. Oh, absolutely sure. I don't have
any at all. I mean, yeah, yeah, So Greg has
the grandkids, and I had a blast with him at
(02:10:30):
Thanksgiving and all that. But you know there's one that's
been a little bashful and he's really coming out of
his shell, and that's Pistol Pace Jones. Yeah, he has
used to just when you spoke to me and to
shake his ead.
Speaker 5 (02:10:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:10:40):
And he has these big expressive eyes and so he's
I mean, if you can ever get him going, okay,
it's amazing the conversation you can get him. So at
some point we were getting close to leaving, weren't we. Yeah,
it was kind of Let's make note. He showed up
with his Hawk hands on. Yea, and these are not
new Hawk hands like you got for Christmas. He's had
(02:11:01):
these for a while. Yeah, Taylor loved oh yeah, yeah,
he loves the Hawk too. He does the Hawk's match.
Speaker 5 (02:11:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:11:06):
There you may find he has these foam hands if
you want any at Sherry's instagram, my instagram. We we
got some shots and I think you actually see pacing
some of those with Hulk NS one. But but anyways,
so Taylor, I remember when he would go to school
like he was the whole because yeah, because I'm willin
ye will. Yeah. So there it is where that that's
(02:11:27):
the the sought after picture. We try to get all
the kids out there right there, and there's all the grandkids,
uh and uh, and so there we go. Of course,
she Hay's got a boot on right there. But anyway,
so the Sharry showed up with a boot. There's mama,
and there there's why I was up at my father
in laws. We got him a cool gift. So so anyway,
all of a sudden and holds pace. Now paces He'll
(02:11:48):
be three in February. This is even more amazing. All right,
are we before four? Yeah, we're not get three. I
don't know four, but he so all of a sudden,
you know, And I love to do that. And we're
not the first one. What was that guy that you
remember the children say the darness things? I think Steve
Harvey started doing. But it goes way on back.
Speaker 4 (02:12:10):
Yeah, that's him. It goes way on back.
Speaker 2 (02:12:11):
And you know, of course you can't miss anymore. But
Bill cous we did it for a while too. But anyway,
the conversation with little kids, I love that kind of stuff.
Oh it's hilarious. So for some reason I had his
full attention and I'm on the couch and he kind
of gets his knees up on the couch and I
mean he's right in my face, okay, And I said, well,
how are you feeling about Christmas? And then and then
he would do his eyes like that, and then he
(02:12:32):
would shrug his show pretty good. I said, so you're
feeling pretty good about it? I feel pretty good. And
I was like, okay, what do you think you're gonna get?
I don't know, a bunch of stuff? Okay, you don't
nothing specific? And he looked at me. I said nothing,
You're like you you can't think of any one thing. No,
and so and then then so then this is what
you're all going to love. I said, what do you
(02:12:52):
think I need to get for Christmas? He said, probably
some big clothes and said I said, I said, you
mean adult clothes, a big close And I said okay, okay.
And then I said I'm thinking about a pony. He goes, oh, no, no, no,
uncle wigg a pony. I mean, what are you gonna do?
You's a poopoo over your house and and I said, well,
(02:13:17):
I was gonna keep it outside. He goes, no, you
need a toy pony.
Speaker 12 (02:13:22):
Like that?
Speaker 2 (02:13:23):
And uh. And I was thinking, I don't know, man,
I was thinking, what else? Are you thinking of? My glasses?
And he goes, maybe some glasses and look, and I said,
do you like my glasses? Said? Look this? He goes,
he kind of gives me. I said, you think I
need an upgrad for Santa. I'm thinking maybe some glasses.
And I was like, okay, I mean he was being
(02:13:44):
so like I was talking to a tiny adult. Yeah,
what about he shot that pony down? You have poopol
over your house the first thing you him and his
cousins love poop jokes. Yeah, love it. Maybe some glasses,
all right, So we'll come back, man, we'll go to
(02:14:06):
the land of the Wilburns. You said you got something
you wanted to share with us at you tried. That's
nothing new, I mean, but I just tried it for us, okay,
and it worked. But it was a mess, didn't you
Trying to think if I can pull that off. I'm
not with the big one.
Speaker 5 (02:14:19):
You go, We'll be right back.
Speaker 1 (02:14:26):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 2 (02:14:39):
Steve Deny.
Speaker 1 (02:14:40):
Ain't any involvements in the Food Place of nineteen seventy nine.
Rick Burgess, yep, I was framed.
Speaker 2 (02:14:48):
All right, we're back, uh, and we're running through kind
of what happened over the holidays, and we'll get to
some of your phone calls. The new number eight eight
eight six Big Box. That's also the same line you
text with eight eight eight six two four four eight
six ' nine new website, Rickburgessshow dot com shop the
(02:15:10):
Rick Burgess Show Store.
Speaker 4 (02:15:13):
Some cool swag there.
Speaker 2 (02:15:14):
I'm wear in our sweatshirt right now.
Speaker 4 (02:15:16):
I got all the guys some too.
Speaker 2 (02:15:18):
Most of them liked it speedy, not overly enthusiastic, but anyway,
So we have some things to cover too coming up,
and it looks like talking to Spin that I guess
I'm gonna go. Spin talked about the winter weather, so
it looks like that I will be Lord Willie going
to speak to the Branch County Men of Integrity. They're
(02:15:41):
big stakeout men's event and Coldwater, Michigan coming up on
Saturday five point thirty local time. So right now plans
are a goal. And then on Sunday night, plans are
still ago. Right now, I'll be speaking at First Baptist
Church in Anderson, Alabama for their Man Up Men's conference.
They're doing the strategy from Themanchurch dot com and I'll
(02:16:03):
be speaking to them coming up on Sunday night. And Speedy,
I understand that you are pulling at Greg.
Speaker 7 (02:16:09):
I am I'm a part of something I'm not promoting,
and uh, Greg lea, the more I'm sorry that you
have that department.
Speaker 2 (02:16:17):
But you've known for it. Yeah, and uh well I
mean both yeah, and uh I'm gonna sacrificially go hunting
for the show.
Speaker 5 (02:16:28):
Come out.
Speaker 2 (02:16:28):
We had the business of it.
Speaker 7 (02:16:29):
Yeah, down in the black belt of Alabama, sell my
area for Morgan Academies. Uh hunt that helps, you know,
fund their school and and everything. What there last year
and y'all made fun of me. I remember that met
the great Yeager family. We stayed with them and Tommy
and David myself will do that again and then I'll
speak Saturday night to all of them.
Speaker 2 (02:16:48):
And they have hunters from all over the country.
Speaker 7 (02:16:51):
And of course there's a website you could go and
register that I haven't been pushing either social media such
a greg I'm pulling and I'll try to get that
call you to post something about I mean, that's what
I'm gonna have to do.
Speaker 2 (02:17:03):
But you can be a part of the deer Hunt register.
Speaker 12 (02:17:05):
Now.
Speaker 7 (02:17:06):
It's gonna be a lot of good eating, as you
can imagine, and some excellent hunting. And I was talking
to the guys this little front that's coming through, I mean,
even down there, it's just it's gonna be just bitterly cold,
which means I gotta get up, move Greg.
Speaker 2 (02:17:19):
That's right, So I'm looking forward to it.
Speaker 3 (02:17:22):
What's the website.
Speaker 2 (02:17:27):
Let's go to go to Morgan Academy dot com slash
deer hunt. Is this this weekend? It is how you
got out and plenty of them. Oh so you're you're
the A D. E. M.
Speaker 7 (02:17:37):
Y Morgan with an A Morgan Academy dot com slash
deer hunt. You can go there and get more information.
There's a information sheet and all that kind of stuff.
But you know that that's a great family. They actually
even came to the Golden ticket seat, remember that. And
you know, you meet nice people and then there's them
and you go, boy, they're really really nice. And they're
farmers too, which I've always wanted to be one that
(02:17:59):
I saw how hearted is right, I'm like, I don't
know if I can pull that.
Speaker 2 (02:18:01):
That's why you can't let me pay barns everywhere. Farming
is one of those things that's on the list of
I like the idea of yeah, yeah, but the reality
of it is is not like the idea of it.
Speaker 7 (02:18:12):
Yeah, and y'all even had a best of bit long
ago where y'all y'all don't like exercising, but watching other
people exercises sometimes fun.
Speaker 2 (02:18:20):
You see they're doing it. It's kind of like farming
to your point.
Speaker 5 (02:18:22):
Oh you know.
Speaker 7 (02:18:23):
You you go past a and you see the tractor
and they're working. They're like, man, that'd be awesome until you're.
Speaker 2 (02:18:28):
The one doing it. Let me tell you it's different
when you got to do it.
Speaker 7 (02:18:32):
But landowners in that area they donate their land for
the hunt, and that that is where all the hunters
that have come in and and uh signed up for
this hunt, that's where they go and they offer up,
you know, areas for them to hunt and stay and
a lot of it's just primo stuff. And so I'm
just gonna have to go down and do that again.
Speaker 2 (02:18:51):
Thank you for being scram Now what did you say?
You tried on this and this is not new, but it.
Speaker 7 (02:18:56):
Is for the Wilburns and that album. Y'all have never
done that. No, we've never done this. We've done the
pre lit tree, artificial tree, and we had to go
to this And I asked Terry, I said, now that
the boy the boys are almost out of the house completely.
They come and go and all that. Can we go
back to maybe a real tree because the reason we
went away from that is they were they're allergic to
(02:19:16):
trees and all this stuff, and they're grown now, so
sometimes you get out of that, and we hadn't had
them tested since they were younger. So we went we
went to artificial pre lit trees. And you know the dilemma.
Every year you open that box and none of them work.
You might get one, maybe two good years out of it.
Speaker 5 (02:19:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (02:19:33):
Then I realized I'm boxing them up wrong, that each
each section needs its own box and all that. And
one person said they've had the same one for ten years.
Speaker 2 (02:19:40):
If I got all that, I say not.
Speaker 7 (02:19:42):
I told Terry, I said, let's try to see if
we can't balance it to the attic.
Speaker 2 (02:19:47):
And what I mean, what I mean is keep the
tree up, don't put it, don't take it a pouse.
I'm going up the steps. I'm going to try to
balance it. You have decorations still on it, No, no,
took the decorations off.
Speaker 7 (02:19:57):
Lights are on, okay, and I'm going Now we have
the addicts where you just pull it down and a
little ladder. Yeah, the little ladder comes down and here
we go. Well, the problem is the trees wider than
the hole going up. So the first half of the
tree fits just fine. Here we go, but then you know,
the branches are all getting stuck at the ceiling, popping
(02:20:19):
you back, popping you back up. Terry's a great city worker,
She's just watching me do it, you know, And so
I'm like, could.
Speaker 2 (02:20:26):
You help me?
Speaker 11 (02:20:27):
Uh?
Speaker 7 (02:20:27):
And so I finally get it up a little tattered, uh,
and the you know, the the hard work is you
can lay the limbs down, but all the little leaves
and stuff, getting them all decorated to where the tree
looks full, that's where the work is.
Speaker 3 (02:20:39):
That's the horrible.
Speaker 7 (02:20:40):
So I'm thinking, man, if we could pull this off,
and we don't have a bunch, we have the main tree,
and we have some of those little skinny pencil trees
that might scent the corner of a room or something.
And I'm like, those are going up. For sure, they
didn't have a problem going up, but you're trying to
balance them, and then it's trying to get away from you.
Speaker 2 (02:20:55):
Like I make a tree.
Speaker 7 (02:20:59):
We talked the main one. It's a nine footer. Oh
and you know it's it's not as fat, but it's
it's it's got some height to it. But I'm proud
to say yeah, now, yeah, we got debris everywhere, right.
Speaker 2 (02:21:12):
Okay, I mean we got the vacuum. Oh my gracious,
it's all over. But we'll say this. The needles were
so there were so many. It's almost you looking go
house or any left on the how how uh it
laughs at a vacuum. It does that every year. Yeah,
but yeah, it still looks like a tree.
Speaker 7 (02:21:27):
But we put them up in the attic. It's the
first time we've ever done that. And besides maybe just
fixing the bottom of the tree, the top looks.
Speaker 2 (02:21:34):
How do you think it's going to be when they
come back out? You had to come out there like
it's we always think it's a year from now. We
always think it's a year from now.
Speaker 7 (02:21:41):
I know, I know, but it's not because you know,
Terry started this argument with me years ago, was we
we do so much work, like least it is now,
especially if you're hosting and that you do so much
work that you don't want to just get two weeks
out of it.
Speaker 2 (02:21:55):
So it's got to go up.
Speaker 7 (02:21:56):
My gracious, we get to November, we got to get
it up. So really your point, Rick, I mean, we're
ten months away from doing it again.
Speaker 2 (02:22:03):
Needles still come off artificial artificial trees.
Speaker 3 (02:22:07):
Oh yeah, yes, yeah, like a pipe cleaner instead of
a actual thing.
Speaker 2 (02:22:12):
But when you but each year, you can't tell it.
You would think, hey, I haven't been that tree for
sixteen years. Every year I got to sweep a big
pile up that it would look bare. But it doesn't.
Speaker 3 (02:22:21):
No, I got we got the pre lit trees. I
got two of them.
Speaker 6 (02:22:26):
And this year, because the boxes, if you try to
get it back in the box, it's not going back
in the box.
Speaker 3 (02:22:31):
And then you're trying to shove it through that small.
Speaker 6 (02:22:33):
Hole in the ceiling, and the springs, the little hook
springs are hooking on the box, so you're just ripping
the box.
Speaker 3 (02:22:40):
And so I did that for two years in a row.
Speaker 6 (02:22:42):
This past time, I had two pre lit artificial trees,
and I took them up into the attic one piece
at a time and just put them in the box
that way, And I've got open boxes.
Speaker 3 (02:22:51):
But at least I didn't destroy.
Speaker 5 (02:22:53):
My trying to do it.
Speaker 7 (02:22:55):
And they're fairly when you bring them back out, it's
not as hard getting not as bad. Ye for this
skinny trees, we took up one piece. But for the
big one we did two pieces like you're talking about.
But still that bottom one it's heavy and it's still wide.
Speaker 2 (02:23:08):
Is it in the way up there though?
Speaker 14 (02:23:09):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:23:09):
I mean when the HVAC guy comes and checks everything out,
you might be, hey, what's up with these trees? Change
the filter about that? Yeah, but I think I found
a spot.
Speaker 4 (02:23:19):
Do you think your light?
Speaker 2 (02:23:20):
Where your lights work? Next year?
Speaker 5 (02:23:23):
Boy?
Speaker 7 (02:23:23):
If I didn't tear them up, going, I mean, they'll
get caught on stuff. Good night, They'll get caught on stuff.
It seems a little springs like Adler's talking about.
Speaker 2 (02:23:30):
Yeah, listen, let me ask you all this because I
do it. I've got like cardboard boxes with big, wadded
up balls of lights almost slunk on Christmas vacation when
it us is out, And every year, instead of digging
in it, I just go buy more because they're not
that expensing now. But one I throw them away, I don't.
I keep compiling them in every year ago I'm gonna
reuse these, Yeah, And I go to get them out,
(02:23:50):
and I go, I'll just go get they're not that Yeah, Yeah,
that's what I should do. I mean, but I end
up buying new lights for every tree every year.
Speaker 7 (02:23:58):
Right there, we have rubber maids of lights hard and
also ornaments that we now don't use. So I said, Terry,
come on up to the adic with me, Come up
to my world here, and let's just sit down for
a second. I said, do you see all these boxes?
This is all Christmas.
Speaker 2 (02:24:12):
We didn't bring down four of these rubber maids. Right,
we're not using them anymore.
Speaker 5 (02:24:17):
You're right?
Speaker 2 (02:24:17):
So could we get up rid of all this? Then? No,
we got we got to save that for the boys.
We gotta hand some of that stuff. Now you're talking
about the snowmen we don't even use.
Speaker 3 (02:24:27):
I touched it in years.
Speaker 2 (02:24:28):
You got that ornament they made in kindergarten out of
a dog bath. So when the milk bones the little
milk phone reindeer. Yeah, let me tell you something. We
got one tree has got nothing but that on it,
taking it down, But a little sad it is. I
went in there and took all the ornmosa I got
a little you mentioned it.
Speaker 3 (02:24:45):
Hooking at them?
Speaker 4 (02:24:45):
Have you some emotional things?
Speaker 3 (02:24:46):
When do you start putting them away? Don't start looking at.
Speaker 2 (02:24:48):
You talking about the one says I love daddy, Yes,
And their little picture is What about the ones that's
got their little picture in it? Talk about like Christmas
vacation when you get stuck. Yeah, every wanted to handprint,
but it's all it's all not they handprint of art
or turkey.
Speaker 3 (02:25:08):
Oh yeah, Well say, did you have anything happen when
you were putting to wear a tree?
Speaker 4 (02:25:13):
All right, we'll talk about that later.
Speaker 2 (02:25:15):
Yeah, because I'm involved with that one. Let's do let's
do phone calls next eight eight eight six, Big Box.
Speaker 1 (02:25:23):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Okay, are you ready
to bring something to the table? Call no and get
on the show one eight eight eight six Big Bucks.
Speaker 4 (02:25:46):
So Greg's taking calls. Our first time to chat.
Speaker 2 (02:25:49):
With you today. But I will tell you this one
will be special. Notice that you were told to bring
something to the table a random caller in this phone
segments solely based on how we feel about your call.
If you're bringing something to the table, we think it's
a good call. We could just declare that you will
(02:26:09):
get a chance. Still, let one of the members of
the show spend the wheel of bundles, bits and bucks
for you, and maybe you're the next person to win money.
Speaker 4 (02:26:18):
Two people have already won five hundred dollars today.
Speaker 5 (02:26:21):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (02:26:21):
Uh, And so we're just gonna randomly pick one out
of as we're going long ago. And if I look
over and a guy's guy has a good caller right there,
somebody brought something to the table. We can hear what
you do on your Christmas traditions. As we've told you
about hours, we still have some things to discuss about
hours still to come. We will hear from Dickey Nadmire
(02:26:42):
next hour, and we may have Gary the bulldozer Man
test his new phone to see what's any good that's
got to happen. Yes, so we still have a lot
to do today. So you see him cutting firewood?
Speaker 5 (02:26:52):
I did? I did?
Speaker 2 (02:26:53):
Did you see see him playing the piano?
Speaker 5 (02:26:56):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (02:26:57):
Is that really him that I need?
Speaker 14 (02:26:58):
More?
Speaker 12 (02:26:59):
So? Uh?
Speaker 2 (02:27:00):
Anyway now noah uh but anyway, so uh call us
at eight eight eight six big bucks and we'll chat
with you. Let's go to Jeremy out of Brookhaven, Mississippi. Jeremy,
go ahead.
Speaker 5 (02:27:13):
He cut my beard and forced me to eat it.
Speaker 11 (02:27:17):
I liked the new studio, thank you, And I wanted
to say I liked the new format too.
Speaker 14 (02:27:22):
I was kind of curious about how it was I've
been waiting on y'all to come back because i wake
up at five o'clock every morning.
Speaker 19 (02:27:28):
I'm used to waking up with Speedy and Greg and
making my coffee and reading the Bible.
Speaker 5 (02:27:31):
And there was nobody around.
Speaker 2 (02:27:32):
So yeah, I really liked this. Yeah, I'm glad you
like him that much. He's nice, not out of the gate.
I mean, come on, he's a nice guy. He didn't
have to happen. I didn't. I didn't se anybody else
go with the votes, Jeremy, that's very kind of you.
Thank you very much, buddy. Uh, and I'm glad you're
enjoying it. Well, I mean, so, uh, let's say complimentary,
very nice he was. I agree with you, old guy.
(02:27:55):
I noticed you couldn't get a vote from Adler Greg though.
Speaker 3 (02:27:57):
Uh he sounded nice.
Speaker 2 (02:27:59):
Uh. Let's go to right, Let's go to Bobby. Oh,
Bobby's speaking of deer and he said he's sitting in
a stand right now. Hey, Bobby, what's up?
Speaker 5 (02:28:10):
What's up?
Speaker 10 (02:28:11):
Let's see that blind. I was hoping I might get
picked of Stingo Wheel.
Speaker 2 (02:28:15):
Yeah, it's got to be more than I'm just bobbying
a blind Bobby. I mean, I mean, have you.
Speaker 10 (02:28:20):
No, I'm well, this is the first time I've been
able to get through you.
Speaker 2 (02:28:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (02:28:24):
I tried all the twelve days at Christmas. I thought
this stuff was rigged man, and always all oh you
hate like the begging for me.
Speaker 13 (02:28:32):
This is not bad.
Speaker 2 (02:28:33):
It's not bad bad, Bobby. Do you realize, though, if
we go crazy and start going nuts, you're gonna spook deer. Yeah,
I mean, what if you want a thousand If you
want a thousand dollars, you cold?
Speaker 10 (02:28:42):
Yeah, I'm yeah, I'm freezing from dea.
Speaker 2 (02:28:49):
Uh. Let's go to Travis out of Kentucky. Travis, go ahead.
Speaker 11 (02:28:54):
I believe I'm coder and he is. It's about twenty
degrees up here.
Speaker 10 (02:28:58):
It is.
Speaker 2 (02:28:58):
Oh good.
Speaker 11 (02:29:01):
I was gonna ask Adler if he's gonna play replays
from today's show tomorrow during the commercial break so we
don't have to watch Greg pick his nose and Speedy
spoke a pack of cigarette that hurt.
Speaker 2 (02:29:15):
Until then, until right then I was about to stay picking. Yeah, well,
we're gonna we're by the way. I will admit Adler
is the best at this little basketball game so far.
I'm want to take him on, but we're all catching up.
Speaker 3 (02:29:26):
Speedy's catching up quick.
Speaker 5 (02:29:27):
I don't like it.
Speaker 4 (02:29:29):
Emily and Huntsville. Emily go ahead, Emily, Yes.
Speaker 2 (02:29:35):
Rick, Okay, it's from Coleman.
Speaker 8 (02:29:38):
I wanted to wish.
Speaker 10 (02:29:40):
Yeah, I want to what y'all luck on the new show.
Speaker 8 (02:29:42):
And it's not the same without Bubba.
Speaker 2 (02:29:45):
And it's not the same because we don't have to
hear inter resting. Okay, okay, we continue. The number is
eight eight eight six big box.
Speaker 17 (02:30:01):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (02:30:02):
Let's go to uh uh to Steve in Huntsville. Also, Steve,
go ahead, what.
Speaker 8 (02:30:10):
New Year?
Speaker 2 (02:30:11):
Thank you, Buddy, Y's me. I'm back, Steve.
Speaker 19 (02:30:15):
Hey, I don't never want no money, man. I'll give
us a shout. I'll tell you all our Christmas tradition, man,
Every year we take our back on tree down down
to Christmas. We stake it out in the yard. We
show at tree what for man, We show it all kind.
Speaker 2 (02:30:25):
New wrestling moves on you. Here.
Speaker 19 (02:30:27):
My uncle put a tree on top of fire hiding
when it snow.
Speaker 2 (02:30:29):
I broke my shoulder.
Speaker 8 (02:30:32):
Was here.
Speaker 3 (02:30:35):
I'm bad, bad.
Speaker 7 (02:30:36):
I was thinking that Greg and Lisa were their big tree.
They just said it, you know, like put it outside
up against the tree line. It just be part of
those trees.
Speaker 2 (02:30:44):
Absolutely's bring it on in every year.
Speaker 4 (02:30:46):
Steve Richmond, Virginia, Steve.
Speaker 10 (02:30:48):
Go ahead, Yeah, I'm thinking for like one of the prizes.
He just randomly call somebody.
Speaker 2 (02:30:57):
Yeah, but how would we get the number off the
I'll take.
Speaker 10 (02:31:00):
My attention to the numbers that are told them them.
Speaker 2 (02:31:05):
Oh, I see what you're doing. But the US smart. Uh.
Now we can see them on some of the callers,
and we can see every one of them on the text.
So h and we did call someone earlier when they
got a question. Right, Yeah, let's go to Laurie in Alabama.
Laurie go ahead, Hey, how are y'all? We're good, Laurie.
Speaker 13 (02:31:28):
I love the new studio. I was just gonna say,
I bought an Alexa Christmas tree, so I tell it
to change all the lights and all that, and it's
really pretty. And so when I took it down, I
was so scared to take it apart, so I was
afraid I'd mess up the wiring. So I have actually
taken the base off and I'm going to wrap it
(02:31:50):
up in plastic. I took all the ornaments off and
I'm just gonna store it like that because I'm too
afraid to take it apart.
Speaker 2 (02:31:55):
Wow. Wow, Okay, that's a good idea, right there, that's
a great idea.
Speaker 5 (02:32:00):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (02:32:01):
Let's go to Clayton and Huntsville. Clayton.
Speaker 10 (02:32:02):
Go ahead, Hey, good morning, guys. I'm just gonna say
I really honestly thought the show would suck. Turns out
right up, bear.
Speaker 2 (02:32:13):
Let's go, knew what baby?
Speaker 10 (02:32:18):
Here we go.
Speaker 2 (02:32:18):
We're gonna spend the wheels for clay.
Speaker 12 (02:32:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:32:25):
Stop, the show would bite. It's kind of digging it.
Speaker 17 (02:32:28):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (02:32:31):
And let's see.
Speaker 4 (02:32:32):
All right, so Clayton, who do you want to spend
for you?
Speaker 11 (02:32:35):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (02:32:36):
Either Rick? Greg? Get in here here. Greg's got the
hot hand. He's got the hot hand to.
Speaker 5 (02:32:41):
Day, Claire.
Speaker 3 (02:32:43):
So Greg, can you hear us? My goodness, here is Greg?
Speaker 4 (02:32:46):
Good over and spin it?
Speaker 10 (02:32:47):
Boy?
Speaker 2 (02:32:47):
You walked slow, Clayton, thank you for at least giving
the show a chance. And now aren't you glad you did? Yes?
Speaker 4 (02:32:52):
All right, here we go, Here we go, Clayt. Let's
see what happened?
Speaker 5 (02:32:55):
Here we go?
Speaker 2 (02:32:55):
All right, here we go, here we man.
Speaker 5 (02:32:57):
Greg.
Speaker 2 (02:32:57):
Yeah, let's see he's had the hot hand to day.
Speaker 4 (02:33:01):
I bet you wouldn't mind a thousand bucks, would you?
Speaker 3 (02:33:04):
That?
Speaker 10 (02:33:04):
Would be absolutely am wake up for Christmas?
Speaker 8 (02:33:09):
Kidding you.
Speaker 17 (02:33:27):
Man?
Speaker 12 (02:33:27):
You just what a thousand dollars ash?
Speaker 4 (02:33:34):
Well, I was just kidding around in my in the.
Speaker 2 (02:33:40):
Remember what I said earlier, we'll buy you if we
have to. Oh my, oh my goodness. He all right, Clayton,
let me put you on hold. Let's get your information.
A thousand dollars check coming from Big Box Entertainment as
a way of saying thank you for giving the show
a shot. Thank you, all right, man, put you on
a wow. Can you believe?
Speaker 5 (02:34:00):
I was told was.
Speaker 10 (02:34:03):
Wow?
Speaker 3 (02:34:04):

All right, so a lot has happened since we have
been away. You got speedy, Greg and Adler.
Speaker 10 (02:35:50):
Here.
Speaker 4 (02:35:51):
We covered a lot. We have more to cover this hour.
Speaker 2 (02:35:54):
One thing we really haven't even touched on, just maybe
one passing comment is a college football playoffs semi finals
this weekend. And then there's been bowl games since we've
been away, and a lot of people wondering will we
hear from Dicky nadmir In. The answer is he's on hold.
Speaker 5 (02:36:13):
Oh by.
Speaker 7 (02:36:33):
No, there's no telling Greg what's gonna happen here. But
he u was very reluctant to come on, but said
he would.
Speaker 2 (02:36:40):
So Dickie, are you there?
Speaker 10 (02:36:43):
There?
Speaker 3 (02:36:43):
He is?
Speaker 7 (02:36:44):
He is sounds a little down, Yes he does, road Tad, Dickie, nedmine,
you know.
Speaker 5 (02:36:51):
What I like, you know what I like about the
new show?
Speaker 2 (02:36:54):
What's that one?
Speaker 5 (02:36:56):
Less?
Speaker 2 (02:36:59):
All right?
Speaker 5 (02:37:00):
Dad? You think about if you two last shof you
think about bro Dad?
Speaker 2 (02:37:06):
Dicky? Well, all I got to ask you. You felt
no way they don't make the top twelve. I'm talking
pre season.
Speaker 14 (02:37:13):
Duh huh?
Speaker 2 (02:37:14):
How do you deal with four losses? I know you
did not see that coming.
Speaker 5 (02:37:17):
Now, well, you can't deal with it. Now there's some
other programs like the one you support, Greg.
Speaker 12 (02:37:24):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (02:37:25):
I mean, if you had only had four wins at
a great Burgess program like the one down there in
the call Cottage, I mean, we'll be jumping up and
down saying, let's say we're getting.
Speaker 2 (02:37:34):
I mean, I can't argue with that.
Speaker 5 (02:37:39):
What you do right at Bama? Yeah, we gotta fire,
we gotta fire the board.
Speaker 2 (02:37:43):
I mean, now, wait a minute, wait a minute, jing listen,
get his system, his players.
Speaker 5 (02:37:48):
Yeah, yeah, well I can't. It's four losses.
Speaker 2 (02:37:52):
Yes, you know what that says, Dicky.
Speaker 7 (02:37:54):
Be honest, you're watching the GAD, you're watching Michigan, and
you're watching Bama and you're thinking, okay, will turn it around.
I know I did that, this will be the series.
And he just kept getting worse. I couldn't believe what
I was seeing.
Speaker 5 (02:38:08):
I told you from time to how many times? If
I told you the Millroe can't do it, Well, what
do you mean.
Speaker 2 (02:38:14):
He's gonna taken in the first round of the draft?
Speaker 5 (02:38:17):
He can't he get him? With love with that inacious,
I mean, I hope you hope you get good Milroy.
I hope you don't get bad Milroy. Now I don't know,
like I said, I mean, Greg, go ahead, Greg Kettle,
I'm telling the truth.
Speaker 2 (02:38:32):
I don't know. That was a really good Michigan team.
They lost to Bed when they have five wins six.
Speaker 5 (02:38:38):
But well, it was embarrassing. And if you recall, if
you go back and roll a tape, you're dark. I
was still there on the YouTube, Kettle rollback, you'll hear
one Diick and Admire saying we couldn't go to the ball,
we couldn't go to the playoffs. We ain't good enough,
we didn't play well enough. Good men, it don't to
(02:39:00):
be there.
Speaker 2 (02:39:01):
You did say that. I will give you credit for that.
That would be one last loss. If they had listened
to you. Yep, they don't want to be there.
Speaker 5 (02:39:08):
And apparently, after watching the tide, Calvin, I wouldn't only
want to dont want to be there.
Speaker 2 (02:39:13):
You're right, You're right, Dickie, like really making sense that
he is long? What happened?
Speaker 3 (02:39:19):
I don't know?
Speaker 5 (02:39:20):
A college playoff?
Speaker 2 (02:39:22):
How you like it? Wow, it's been a bit of
a dud that, you know. Besides the what Arizona State game?
Speaker 5 (02:39:30):
That was?
Speaker 2 (02:39:31):
That was a good game.
Speaker 5 (02:39:33):
We all lined up to see the sun Devils playing. Yeah,
we fired, turn on the TV, get out to knock Goo.
Speaker 1 (02:39:41):
Right.
Speaker 2 (02:39:42):
Couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe Ohio State blue out Tennessee.
Couldn't believe it. I mean, Ohio believe it. They're playing
really well.
Speaker 5 (02:39:49):
That's how much fun I've had. That was that the
only game I going.
Speaker 2 (02:39:56):
Good night?
Speaker 5 (02:39:57):
So, I mean, so what do you do now? Rocky
Rocky day down, not rocking top rocking down?
Speaker 2 (02:40:02):
Hey, good news, though, I think you got a chance.
In basketball, they got a pretty good tame. I know
you really care.
Speaker 5 (02:40:08):
I don't care. Don't even know Bama fans. You got
to what a Bama fans don't care about basketball?
Speaker 2 (02:40:15):
Why is that?
Speaker 5 (02:40:15):
Can we tell you? May? Yeah, go ahead because over
and're good at it.
Speaker 2 (02:40:23):
Roa well, let me ask you this, y'all bring in
saving back or not?
Speaker 5 (02:40:28):
We need to bring him back. He ain't too old now,
he ain't gonna lock the atmosphere of course, apparently the
boring boring ain't too good at it. Let me do
we need to do it? I mean now since the
little metric countries don't get an season. Uh, Pabio, Oh.
Speaker 2 (02:40:46):
Yeah, yeah, I forgot that. You're right, he saw him
in person in the Birmingham ball. That's right. You sure
did forgot about that, Yeah you.
Speaker 5 (02:40:53):
Did so, little Pabio. Uh he gonn get a knot season? Yeah,
little I don't.
Speaker 2 (02:40:59):
Know what he's appealing it. So he get this. He
can't say stuff like that.
Speaker 5 (02:41:05):
But I'm gonna tell you how after he thanked the Tide.
I'll take you.
Speaker 2 (02:41:09):
You know so well, I get it. You're right, put
him back to why not?
Speaker 10 (02:41:14):
You know what?
Speaker 5 (02:41:15):
I didn't lie when he beat the Tide, but he
got you. Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:41:19):
He hard, he does, he does, he does. He doesn't
look very athletic at on, but he is. His results.
Speaker 5 (02:41:25):
Got to tell you the difference and the Tide.
Speaker 2 (02:41:28):
What's this?
Speaker 10 (02:41:28):
Up?
Speaker 5 (02:41:29):
One plays hard one, don't little Tide? There you go.
Speaker 2 (02:41:35):
So y'all. Seriously, Dickie, what are you going to do?
Like straight up? I mean, how do you feel? I mean,
you've told him fired to boring?
Speaker 5 (02:41:42):
What I say, fired to boring?
Speaker 2 (02:41:43):
I mean that So that's it.
Speaker 5 (02:41:45):
I ain't alone. How's the family face? Honest? They say
the same thing. Okay, y'all have heard the term stop
the bleeding?
Speaker 2 (02:41:54):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 5 (02:41:55):
Well you heard the term, Yeah I have.
Speaker 2 (02:41:56):
I've heard it many times, many times.
Speaker 5 (02:41:59):
The leading it just gonna get worse.
Speaker 7 (02:42:02):
Yeah, sometimes the kid the kids get the most upset.
How your how your boys taking it?
Speaker 5 (02:42:08):
Yeah? Try it on tobo. It's been hard. It's been devastating,
be devastating. You know what hurts you when you see
your little wife? Wasn't my case? Not you a little bit?
When you see your wife, when you see you're upset
and bowling and crying and saying, way, we ain't a
(02:42:29):
good no more?
Speaker 2 (02:42:30):
Diggy tis he says it.
Speaker 5 (02:42:33):
And I said, what we would have thought, we're getting
the coach from Washington be a bad ideas.
Speaker 2 (02:42:37):
They had one from watching the stated they didn't even
get to play a game.
Speaker 5 (02:42:40):
Oh yeah, let's let's let's get to Washington State. Guy.
Here the one that's paying scriptors. And for the longest
my kids couldn't even say Road tied after what he did.
And then and then we'll get us, and then we
get rid of him and don't go We'll go back
to Washington again. I'm getting joked up about it.
Speaker 11 (02:42:59):
Bro.
Speaker 2 (02:42:59):
I know you contain yourself. Oh so yeah, road Chid,
Yeah you got you got you.
Speaker 5 (02:43:13):
It's not a good day for Babel football. We got problems,
got a lot of word doing.
Speaker 2 (02:43:19):
Oh the portal, Yeah, I gotta get to portal.
Speaker 4 (02:43:21):
You know, Dicky, Maybe y'all can step up.
Speaker 2 (02:43:23):
You can send the donation. That seems to be the
way you do it nowadays. You got to get that
money up so we can get them players. Yeah, you
get some of that disability money you get and send
it up.
Speaker 5 (02:43:31):
Sure, Well, you know what I was thinking. You know
what's sowing you around the country. May not know whistlin
It didn't hear a Bama. We know, I mean, the
Yellowood guy ain't get no eternal to his money. Well,
you know you might we get yellow Wood spend a
little Babel money.
Speaker 2 (02:43:46):
Well we'll see. Yeah, maybe right, yeah, because it doesn't
seem to do something you gotta do something Road, but
the playoff is a disaster.
Speaker 5 (02:43:55):
I mean we do some matchups we got are awful. Yeah,
we need the best twelve teams to play by the mine.
Now you don't hear me, Sam Bama should have been
in it, not this that's over, not this Maama. Then
we don't deserve it. Shouldn't be there, shouldn't play the
Bowl games so done. Nothing should have gone to the house.
I took up a quick right, so, but nobody wants
(02:44:17):
to see these games. No, I'm watching boys.
Speaker 2 (02:44:21):
Yeah, yeah, I know, I get it.

Speaker 2 (02:48:12):
Calling in and the interest is and he said, Hey,

Speaker 2 (02:48:51):
They call everything. You know, you just about to take
a loan. I have to get a phone now, they
know that's true. Hu very expensive, Gary, very expense.
Speaker 5 (02:48:59):

Speaker 14 (02:49:00):
I think I got the pro mac Dick Steam oh
double X mad them seven Fitre Turbo. I think.
Speaker 2 (02:49:12):
It sounds good. It sounds great. Kind of makes your
voice a little bit lower, it does.
Speaker 5 (02:49:16):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 14 (02:49:18):
You know, he's telling me all the features on it
and everything, all the jigabytes whatever. And I just told him,
I said, you might well just turn around be telling
that wall that because that's going right over my head.
Speaker 5 (02:49:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:49:32):
That was a Yeah, that's a conversation they wish they
had back.
Speaker 14 (02:49:36):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, just like they talking China or something. Well, yeah,
I just want I just want a phone I can
call and talk to somebody on and uh take a
few pictures.
Speaker 12 (02:49:48):

Speaker 2 (02:49:48):
It almost went out, it did, But so you got

Speaker 11 (02:50:04):
She's been staying up.
Speaker 14 (02:50:05):
Here by herself.
Speaker 2 (02:50:06):
Oh boy, I had to help her.
Speaker 14 (02:50:08):
Out of bed in the morning to fix me something deep,
but better than what she was, better than.
Speaker 2 (02:50:20):
Thank god for that.
Speaker 14 (02:50:21):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:50:25):
Well, I know I've been busy.
Speaker 14 (02:50:26):
I don't know, y'all probably ain't done a whole lot
here the last you know, these last three weeks.
Speaker 4 (02:50:33):
No, it's been it's just been walked through the park.
We had anything going on.
Speaker 14 (02:50:37):
Yeah, it's been like you know, but it's been. Uh yeah,
I've been cutting fire wood and I saw that. You know,
I had to talk with Gimes. I had to talk
with James Fan a while ago, and you know, he
said he kind of made a mistake on this weather stuff.
He said he thinks it's gonna be a lot worse
than what it is, you know what he said. But
(02:50:59):
I'm fishing to buy and get some milk bread here.
Speaker 2 (02:51:02):
He didn't say that. Gary, don't do that, and everybody
don't do that. Well, all right, Gary, I want to
ask you. I want to ask you a question. Okay,
so we're starting episode longer, go ahead. Oh hey, Gary,
(02:51:23):
were we have episode one of the camp House Business Summit.
You know you're starring in that. Yeah, episode one will
be on the YouTube channel today.
Speaker 14 (02:51:32):
So well I hope I hope you edited some of
that now, Well.
Speaker 2 (02:51:37):
Yeah, I didn't do the editing. Actually Brody did the editing,
so and if he edited, tok, Gary A, yeah.
Speaker 14 (02:51:49):
You probably ain't. They probably cut all these.
Speaker 2 (02:51:52):
Yeah, there may be twenty seconds of you. But uh,
we're about to go to break here in a minute.
But I want to ask you this. We got about
a minute. I want to ask you this question on
the final hunt, on the final hunt of the business Summit,
or we should say final meeting, you're telling me that
you did not go out there and do that big
foot sound.
Speaker 14 (02:52:12):
Yeah, I'm serious.
Speaker 12 (02:52:14):
I was.
Speaker 14 (02:52:15):
I was here watching somebody get bade on football. Don't
got who it was now, but I was.
Speaker 2 (02:52:21):
I was in the house.
Speaker 14 (02:52:22):
No, it wasn't Mane.
Speaker 2 (02:52:23):
I swear it wasn't Gary. I'm serious.
Speaker 4 (02:52:28):
We all got something out that. I mean, you remember,
did you hear it?
Speaker 5 (02:52:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:52:32):
I heard it? I did too.
Speaker 5 (02:52:33):
It was fast.
Speaker 2 (02:52:34):
I was convinced it with him with that dumb book.
I kept saying it was Gary. Well he showed me
a picture him sitting there watching football. He could have
faked that yeah he probably did.
Speaker 14 (02:52:43):
Oh now I got told y'all.
Speaker 2 (02:52:45):
Y'all made to get out of the wood before dog.
Speaker 5 (02:52:47):
Thank you Gary.
Speaker 2 (02:52:48):
And by the way, the new phone sounds pretty dog
one good, ain't bad, No love of it delayed with
one bar, but not bad Gary. See Gary in the
Camp House Business Summit Episode one today on the YouTube channel.
Speaker 1 (02:53:00):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. A voice of reason
in an unreasonable world from a Rick Burgers.
Speaker 2 (02:53:23):
Show that's right, so needed, so now more than ever,
and so we make our way back. If you've missed
any of the debut of The Rick Burgess Show today,
archives available today on the podcast channel and on the
YouTube channel Blaze TV. We'll do an hour of the
show if you're a Blaze TV subscriber. So if you
(02:53:45):
want to find out all the different ways to get
the show live and archive, they're there at Rickburgessshow dot com.
So I guess I was kind of almost hoping today
that the show would run out, and maybe we would
if I let it know days get by, we'd forget this.
But Adler, the video I sent you, so I told
(02:54:06):
you you know, there's always and we made the analogy earlier,
but which I think is solid. It's like having babies.
You forget what all it was. So that's why people
keep having them. I think we keep going all in
for Christmas decorations because every year enough time passes we
forget what it's like to take them down. Fact, and
so we're and look Sherry's you know, from the real
(02:54:29):
tree world. It's non negotiable. We've tried some artificial trees
throughout our marriage. They did, it didn't go well. Back
to what you both have said, the light's not working
the second year after packing it back in the box.
And she loves the smell of a real tree and
not all about the real tree. And of course then
you know, I found the turnkey deal that went away,
(02:54:51):
found another one, got back on my feet. But on
the back end, I've still never replaced the come get
it taken away that's come back. Now we have to
do that part completely, which hurts because it always it's
just a miserable day to take it, you know, because
it's not happy. You're not putting it up here. It's
all over, you know. And so my my job is
(02:55:14):
to take the lights off both the trees, which is
you'd be surprised how tedious it is, and that I'm
actually doing it and I'm not.
Speaker 1 (02:55:24):
It's just awful.
Speaker 2 (02:55:25):
Okay. So so we're we're getting that done.
Speaker 5 (02:55:28):
And so.
Speaker 2 (02:55:30):
You know, when you're getting ready to try to take
trees out and you're taking stuff out, sometimes you just
leave the door open. Oh okay, And unfortunately we left
the door open and I begin to hear a chirping sound, chirp,
chirping sound. Bird in house. And you know birds can't
(02:55:51):
get them to get down load, No you can't. They
think they go to the top of the ceiling and
the door is lower than that the door. You open
the door, they just won't fly down there, and they
get excited and start dropping stuff. So here's just a
little clip to show you that it was real. I
want you to notice what I have. I've gone to
the pool and I have the pool net trying to
catch you, trying to catch.
Speaker 3 (02:56:11):
It here, trying to catch a bird with a pool.
Speaker 2 (02:56:14):
By the way, I almost got it, all right, So
uh so there you go.
Speaker 3 (02:56:19):
He's quig.
Speaker 2 (02:56:19):
He's a quick either. We believe it is an Eastern phoebe.
For those you bird watchers out there, it's a phoebe
for sure. Yeah, thank you. What are your bird watching?
You don't go to that bird's mind? Yes, so what
what hell? Guy with a net? What else do birds do?
They lay it by and if they if they get scared,
(02:56:42):
they just start throwing it anywhere. Yeah, cont just old
black tar horrible. Yeah. And hey, if you would have
seen Sherry and me, her with the on the boot
and me with the pool net trying to get this
thing out of the house. We could not get I've
had to do. We could not get to fly down
well a couple of times. And I'll just I've had
(02:57:03):
them in badly.
Speaker 17 (02:57:04):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (02:57:04):
Yeah, Well I got to that point where I was
taking the Eastern Phoebe to Phoebe Heaven. Yeah, just to
get it out of the ear. Yeah, And I said
just so. And of course I had a chandelier that
was nearly real bad. You don't have a good issue
that you don't believe that that's Hadburg, Missippi. So anyway,
so all this, you know, revolving battery powered by blower
one time on mind. Just yeah, so you know how
(02:57:27):
you know how I like to have a system, okay,
and I like to have it down path. So my
normal routine is now now is we when the trees
are done, and we get the lights off of them,
we go out the door into the truck. I drive
them to a place not far away that takes Christmas
tree and they recycle. Well not on purpose, not on purpose.
(02:57:50):
So so anyway, so you know how your kids are,
even as adults, their timing just is never you know,
you know, when you say to them, if you ever
need anything, let me know, I think we should take.
Speaker 4 (02:58:03):
That back, but they'll take you up on it. Yeah,
And when they take you up on it, it's never.
Speaker 2 (02:58:07):
The right time. Yeah, and they really don't let you know. So,
as were already talked about, young Brodrick, you know, has
a company that does all sorts of for all kinds
of people, you know, videos and editing and documentaries and
marketing pieces and movies and all this. And he's he's
done our new episode which comes out here shortly, and
(02:58:29):
so apparently he needed a truck and he says, Dad,
now this is day we're taking everything down. Hey, Dad,
is there any way I could borrow your truck? And
I was like, well, let me check with you. Mom.
Of course it's one of the kids, so oh sure anything.
And I was like, well, aren't we doing the trees,
and and she's like, well, we may not get it
all down, and we can go into Saturday and or
(02:58:51):
we can get them down, set them in the driveway,
you take them back on Saturday. Okay. So this was Friday. Okay,
so I start. Then I get a panic texts from
my contact Andrew Varbudas about getting rid of the Christmas train.
He said, hey, head's up to day's last day? I said,
today's the last day. He goes, If you don't get
(02:59:12):
it turned in today, you ain't have nowhere to go.
You have to find somewhere else. And I like, well,
I don't have my truck. Throw him in the backyard now,
I don't have my truck. So so anyway, so we
do all day long. Finally get it done, and Sherry said,
I wanted it to be great if we just take
these and be done with it. Of course, you know
you're preaching the choir now, and I said, we need
somebody who's got a truck. Well, Speedy had just text me,
(02:59:35):
and I knew he was at the office, which is
not far from my house. And I said, I'll tell
you what. You take me over to Speedy. I'll get
Speedy's truck before he's even done at work, because it's
where we're taking him's not far from here either, And
I have his truck back to him and the didn't
no harm done. And I checked how long you're going
to be there, and you said about another hour. And
I thought, that's plenty of time. Perfect, that's plenty, that's
(02:59:56):
plenty of time. You know, Speedy a little different than me.
He he takes care of us things, right, Yeah, And
which is not a bad thing. It's not It really isn't,
a matter of fact, it's the way it should be. Okay.
So you know, you can be non materialistic and then
you can just be irresponsible. Yeah, okay, and so uh yeah,
and I and I've blurred it, you have, uh so
(03:00:20):
Speedy of course he's big hearted. I know I'm getting
the truck. I mean, you know he's not gonna say no. Okay.
He hated it, and he hated every minute of it. Okay,
and his truck a little really nice struck, really nice
struggle a lot more complicated than I thought. Well, and
I didn't. And you know what, you know, how you
want to influence people. Glad to see you on the
classic rock channel. Okay, alright, So so anyway, uh, new truck,
(03:00:42):
real complicated everything, and it's complicated, and so we figured
out and and he knows I wouldn't listen, and he
told me how many times how to put it in
drive and reverse. It's one of these new fangled things
where you just moved a little. It's not one of these,
but it's a little yeah. Really yeah, you just move
it a couple of ways. Real strange.
Speaker 7 (03:00:58):
But anyway, so so I've got to do you weren't listening,
I knew, so I take off and you know, had
trouble doing.
Speaker 2 (03:01:05):
That, Yes, couldn't couldn't take off? Well, bad sign you
ever ever seeing what you take off in his it's weird.
By the way, it's not that bad. So it's it's
him talking right now. I will tell you this. I
will tell you I don't like you only having one
line either. I need two lines. When backing it up.
You just have one. That's a setting. That's just my setting.
Just uh with the trailer hitch and the trailer and
(03:01:26):
all that. That's just a line up. There's some there's
some plants that I like that been two lines. But anyway, so, uh,
but other scratch. I didn't know what that was. So anyway,
so I back it down. We we we get, we
get the trees, and I say to Sherry, I don't
I mean, she's ready for this. She I think she
wants to be over with more than me. I said, baby,
he's got some straps here. I need strappers. Now, you
(03:01:47):
don't need Strappe's now we're just going right over here,
and and and and so the burgess thing.
Speaker 5 (03:01:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:01:52):
So so I was like I had I had the
smaller tree and the bigger tree. You know it needs
to you know, you didn't strap it down. You need
to take the gate and put it up. And so
you didn't have the get up. And then she goes,
she goes, why are what you waiting on? And she
just pushes the tree in and I said, baby, that's
in my truck. I said, you can't just push a
tree in like that all aggressive. And I thought, I thought, well,
(03:02:14):
I've scratched his truck. That's the first thing I thought of. Yeah,
he don't like it. Yeah, And then I thought, well
does Greg who likes scratches? I really do. I don't
know if he likes it, but it doesn't bother him
apparently he's blind to scratch. So I'm flying so you know,
and I don't I don't hear that good anymore. Okay,
(03:02:34):
So it's fling death. So now I'm driving the trees
over to it, drop them off together. Yeah, Sherry following
me in her car. Well, I think she shouts to me,
go on, I forgot my phone when she's telling me,
don't go because I don't know where you're going, saying
hold on. Okay, yeah she's saying hold on. I think
she's saying go on. So you got to tailgate down
two trees, and so I'm going, Greg, I don't make
(03:02:55):
it one hundred yards. I don't make it one hundred yards,
and I lose small tree, small three hundred yards Okay
like that? What row were you on?
Speaker 4 (03:03:04):
I was on the cris so anyway, So and it
is not a free leave.
Speaker 2 (03:03:08):
It'sratch that way by my bat on the sharts because
they got they got a tree right in the driveway.
So so anyway, but but that's a risk when you
have it live where the thing comes down. And so anyway,
Sherry says, you went off and left me. I said, well,
don't worry, you can. I got some breadcrumbs from you
for you a big one called a Christmas tree. I've
(03:03:28):
already lost one. I told you we need to strap
this down. Well, you driving over here, you wuie like
you're like you're in a drag race. I said, no, no, no,
I was easing. You just can't lay two trees in
the back of a truck and have the gate down.
Now you got to strap them down. So now it's
on the side of the road. Now I'm trying to
turn around your truck. That's complicated. It's nice and the.
Speaker 12 (03:03:47):
Truck.
Speaker 2 (03:03:48):
So it's a truck, and I mean, I know each
model is a little different. It's got to be pretty obvious. Okay,
so you've done it, No I have Okay, you've been
in this truck. I haven't how many times you're driven it. None? Okay,
Well then I just sitting down this guy, I'm going
by the r D is for drive. But then you
have something around then you have to press this thing up.
It's just ass car. Yeah, here's the same way, and
(03:04:09):
I'm not great in it. So now I'm frustrated. I'm frustrated.
I throw the new Now I don't care about I thrown.
I throw I forgot it. I've totally forgotten to speed,
and I think it's mine and I take the gate,
say we need to have the gate up.
Speaker 20 (03:04:21):
And I shoved the gate up. So many did and
I said, I stopped counting and looking. I thought, I said,
you just have to walk away.
Speaker 2 (03:04:32):
I said to myself at one point, if I didn't
scratch it the first time, I have made sure I
did right now. Now I've scratched it for sure, and
now it's uncomfortable because I have to bring it back.
Do I mention the scratches? Do I bring it up?
Speaker 7 (03:04:45):
I thought the tactic was pretty clever on your part,
just dropping the keys off and then texted me that
there might.
Speaker 2 (03:04:51):
Be a program. Hey, you might find a scratcher to
real quick?
Speaker 8 (03:04:57):
How much?
Speaker 5 (03:04:58):
How much?
Speaker 2 (03:04:59):
Plea? Please tell me that big white mark was on it? Buddy,
I'm sorry, it's all right.
Speaker 5 (03:05:05):
How bad?
Speaker 2 (03:05:06):
How bad was it? It's okay. I mean it's in
the bed of the truck.
Speaker 7 (03:05:08):
I mean, you know there's gonna be scratches, and it's
spread in bare line bedliner.
Speaker 4 (03:05:13):
Taking but you're probably would you wish you to?
Speaker 2 (03:05:15):
Yeah, now, the the sides and the tailgate and the
top and all that.
Speaker 4 (03:05:22):
You're not worried about the bed.
Speaker 2 (03:05:25):
Probably the tailgate, Yeah yeah, the tailgate. His better day
got frustrated. You've seen his brand new truck, right, Oh yeah,
you've seen the scratch.
Speaker 1 (03:05:33):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 2 (03:05:44):
We're back, all right. So we've had if you're listening
to the show as it rolls out, what a day.
I mean, the first five hours of the Rick Burgess
Show almost done. We have had an incredible time. All
of you have as well. Thanks for giving us your
time kicking the tires a little bit. So what we
(03:06:07):
did to kind of get this baby off and running,
and boy it's been so much fun is we introduced
kind of a new way to play with the wheel and.
Speaker 4 (03:06:17):
Kind of our slogan is what's better than meat?
Speaker 2 (03:06:21):
How about money? So we've already given away two thousand
dollars today on the wheel of bundles, bits and bucks.
There's two slots that have one thousand dollars each and
two that have five hundred each, and then in between
that various bundles meaning prizes or it may be you know,
bits meaning it lands on something.
Speaker 4 (03:06:39):
We have to do something. There's some you don't win anything.
Speaker 2 (03:06:41):
So to wrap up the final live I or and
I know some of you get the show in different
orders and all that, and that's that's fine, but I
think we'll go you want to just go back to
a certain number of caller at eight eight eight six
big vot.
Speaker 10 (03:06:55):
I like it.
Speaker 2 (03:06:56):
So we've done thirty. We did sixteen for some reason,
I don't even remember sixteen slots on the way. Okay,
that was it, okay, And then we had somebody answer
a question on the text option.
Speaker 11 (03:07:06):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (03:07:06):
And then we just pulled somebody out of a phone
segment and said, we like your phone call. You brought
something to the table.
Speaker 5 (03:07:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:07:12):
Uh, and so we uh that person that person one
a thousand dollars. Yeah, So is there a number that
intrigues you guys at all?
Speaker 3 (03:07:19):
He couldn't go sixty? We did?
Speaker 2 (03:07:21):
I did do sixty? Said, I said, I did thirty.
Then it's sixty.
Speaker 10 (03:07:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (03:07:25):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (03:07:25):
We could do how many shots Greg's made in a row,
but that'd be color number one? Yeah, number zero, Adler,
what what's what's the longest streak you did?
Speaker 3 (03:07:35):
She's streaking a row? Maybe seven?
Speaker 2 (03:07:37):
It wasn't that much, okay.
Speaker 4 (03:07:39):
Yeah, He's like, yeah, all right, so do you all
want to go a big number or small them.
Speaker 3 (03:07:43):
Let's small, let's keep it meig.
Speaker 7 (03:07:45):
Yeah, you know Greg he hates the top twenty five.
He thinks it should be ten. Yeah, so you can
go with caller two.
Speaker 2 (03:07:51):
Let's just say thirty again. No, we just did. We
did sixty. Then we have reward people who can get
in really early. No, let's do the thirty is pretty early, yeah,
thirty is early green.
Speaker 5 (03:08:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:08:02):
Or you know, with with Greg hayting the top twenty five,
we could do twenty five like that. There, let's let's
do collar time. Let me turn it. Let's do all right,
let's do callar twenty five. All right, let's go. There's
there's one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten,
(03:08:23):
and there's eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen,
nineteen twenty, and there's twenty one, twenty two, twenty three,
twenty four. Let's try this one here.
Speaker 4 (03:08:38):
Hey, Rick birders, show what's your name? Where you call
him from?
Speaker 2 (03:08:42):
Hello?
Speaker 5 (03:08:43):
Hello?
Speaker 2 (03:08:44):
Turn the radio down or TV whatever you have, turn
it down, okay, talking, listen to the phone and talking
the phone. What's your name? Where are you calling from?
Look you your callar twenty five. Yeah, your collar twenty five.
Speaker 14 (03:08:59):
So there we go.
Speaker 2 (03:09:00):
So now you've done, you've done that part. Can you
join the cash winners today? Or will you have a
bit spun for you? Maybe a bundle from the store
at Rick Burgess show dot com. Who on the show
do you pick to spind the wheel for you?
Speaker 11 (03:09:18):
Cool?
Speaker 19 (03:09:18):
Greg's hot today, isn't he?
Speaker 2 (03:09:19):
He's very hot? Yeah he has.
Speaker 4 (03:09:21):
He has actually tried.
Speaker 2 (03:09:22):
I used it all up. He might have used it
all up. You got to think about that. He he
has spun two thousand dollars agay and rock and roll one.
What do you what do you think that's worth five hundred?
Speaker 19 (03:09:32):
Well, if it ain't broke, don't figure?
Speaker 2 (03:09:36):
I agree?
Speaker 4 (03:09:37):
See what he spins?
Speaker 2 (03:09:38):
What's your name again?
Speaker 5 (03:09:40):
Luke?
Speaker 2 (03:09:40):
Look look out of Birmingham. Right, he's reverse spinning. He's
reverse spending.
Speaker 5 (03:09:47):
Them store the whel up he did?
Speaker 2 (03:09:49):
All right, let's let's look get it go all right, Luke,
let's see if you can. We're we've been on a
bit of a cash streak. Here the last uh four spins?
Speaker 4 (03:09:59):
All right, let's see here we go up.
Speaker 3 (03:10:04):
Oh this is not bad.
Speaker 2 (03:10:07):
That was not bad. Okay, it's not money you didn't
win cash, sorry, sorry, but you did win a bundle,
so that means you're gonna win something out of the
store at Rick burgessshow dot com. Now we got to

throw in a mug or would you either have a
mug or did you either have a one of the
cups you know that you put a cold drink in
(03:10:28):
or something like that, probably cup? All right, cup?
Speaker 3 (03:10:31):
Is this my brother?
Speaker 10 (03:10:32):
Luke?
Speaker 3 (03:10:33):
Are you my brother?
Speaker 11 (03:10:36):
I am fifteen?
Speaker 3 (03:10:37):
Oh you're not my brother?
Speaker 2 (03:10:38):
Okay, okay, all right, so that would have been a
great controversial.
Speaker 3 (03:10:42):
Way to first thing. You know, I just want to
be honest though.
Speaker 4 (03:10:45):
Okay, I'm gonna put you on hold and then we'll
we'll ship you some some cool stuff from the store.
Speaker 2 (03:10:50):
Okay, okay, can't say one more thing? A road tag?
Speaker 5 (03:11:00):
All right?
Speaker 7 (03:11:00):
Let me put you on hope, he's on five's time,
He's on five, all right.
Speaker 2 (03:11:05):
So I just realized that I've never told the story
we're doing this. So see there's a there's so many
new things you do, so I need to I need
to get I need to give them my heads up
on that. Okay, So what we'll do is standard T shirt?
You know, not the fitted one, but the standard ones,
because the fitting ones, that's nice. It's standard. Yeah, so
standard T shirt. And then we have some sort of
(03:11:26):
can you put the story back up? Can you put
the store back up?
Speaker 17 (03:11:29):
There?
Speaker 2 (03:11:29):
I think we have some sort of cup. I haven't
sound disgusted. I'm not disgusted. No, I'm excited about it.
Now what I like? What I have said?
Speaker 5 (03:11:38):
What I allright?
Speaker 2 (03:11:38):
See if you see a cup, so you see the
one I want to send them, Come down a little bit,
Come down a little bit.
Speaker 4 (03:11:43):
No, no, come back down right there?
Speaker 2 (03:11:45):
That right there? What it's some kind of water bottle?
Speaker 5 (03:11:48):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (03:11:48):
Yeah, that's analogy and water bottle?
Speaker 2 (03:11:50):
Is that what that is?
Speaker 5 (03:11:51):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (03:11:51):
Is that one of those kinds like you don't dive
the plastic?
Speaker 3 (03:11:53):
People love it?
Speaker 1 (03:11:54):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (03:11:54):
All right?
Speaker 4 (03:11:55):
Now scroll back now people love so that water bottle.
Speaker 2 (03:11:57):
And then come on down. No, no, the other way. Good,
She'll go up, go back to go back to the
top up right there. See that T shirt, not the
one on the left, the one on the right.
Speaker 3 (03:12:06):
Nike Comfort colors.
Speaker 4 (03:12:07):
Yeah, see it right, not for one yeah comfort come
comfort color?
Speaker 2 (03:12:11):
You say it?
Speaker 3 (03:12:11):
Put it right there and not definitely not Old Man
Strong because he said he was fifteen.
Speaker 2 (03:12:14):
That's yeah, because that would be awkward and weird. Yeah,
whose face is that on Old Man Strong?
Speaker 3 (03:12:18):
Yeah? Is that great?
Speaker 5 (03:12:19):
Some person? That's great. It is great.
Speaker 17 (03:12:24):
To me. That look.
Speaker 2 (03:12:24):
It looks like Greg you know who it really does,
straight up the western guy there my lives Sam Elliott, Yeah, yeah,

There was a lot of money.
Speaker 4 (03:12:42):

Speaker 1 (03:12:45):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
