De Nederlandse demissionaire regering heeft ongekend hard opgetreden tegen chipfabrikant Nexperia uit Nijmegen. Het ministerie van Economische Zaken beriep zich op de ‘Wet beschikbaarheid goederen’ (Wbg), na signalen van ‘ernstige bestuurlijke tekortkomingen en handelingen’. NRC meldt op basis van ingewijden dat men vermoedt dat het bedrijf chipkennis naar China wilde lekken. Dat hierbij de Amerikaanse druk op de Nederlandse halfgeleiderindustrie een rol speelt, is goed mogelijk, zegt Marc Hijink, techjournalist bij NRC en auteur van Focus, over het machtsspel rond chipmachinefabrikant ASML.
