Beijing kondigde vorige week aan de export van zeldzame aardmetalen te willen beperken, als reactie op de onderhandelingen met Washington. Daarop reageerde de Amerikaanse president Donald Trump vrijdag met een dreiging van nieuwe importheffingen van 100 procent op Chinese producten, boven op de tarieven die nu al gelden. ‘Het is hard tegen hard’, zegt BNR’s huiseconoom Han de Jong.
