Vandaag hadden we een wel heel bijzondere gast bij Koffietijd, niemand minder dan Rico Verhoeven. Al twintig jaar is hij vechtsporter en op dit moment lukt het niemand om de wereldkampioen te verslaan. Maar daar blijft het niet bij, Hollywood lonkt! Vanaf nu draait de nieuwe Hollywoodfilm 'Black Lotus' in de bioscoop en Rico speelt een hoofdrol.
Afgelopen week was de wereldpremière van de film in Amsterdam. "Ik was heel nerveus voor de reacties van anderen. Kijken ze naar Rico de vechter of Rico de acteur?" vertelt hij. Na de première kreeg Rico grote complimenten van collega-acteurs Waldemar Torenstra en Barry Atsma.
Het acteren kwam Rico niet zomaar aanwaaien. Dankzij zijn enorme doorzettingsvermogen heeft hij veel kunnen leren voor het spelen in een film. Zo volgde hij acteerlessen, vechtlessen voor de film én taallessen. Maar het resultaat mag er dan ook zeker zijn. Is Hollywood nu zijn nieuwe strijdtoneel en gaat hij de wereld verder veroveren?
