Ben happens to be one of the most passionate fans of the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) and author of the book ‘10 Clubs for 27 Years–The Golden Age of the SANFL’ which gives an insight into South Australia’s contribution to the much-loved sport.

As well as discussing the book and how it came about, Ben also shared stories about his father's legacy in the SANFL as a league footballer, growing up in a family divided by football loyalties, and his own love for the game and passion for keeping state league football alive.

We also talked about Ben’s backyard cricket memories as a child and how they turned an abandoned tennis court into an epic test match, riding his bike through national parks and how life was different back then before mobile phones.
