Estas inversiones abarcan sectores clave, incluyendo puertos, carreteras, minería, energía y sistemas de transporte público como líneas de metro y trenes ligeros.
Sin embargo, han surgido preocupaciones debido a la naturaleza poco transparente de estos acuerdos, el posible control de infraestructuras estratégicas por parte de empresas chinas y la llegada masiva de trabajadores chinos. Varios proyectos han estado envueltos en controversias relacionadas con acusaciones de corrupción, impacto ambiental, conflictos laborales y el desplazamiento de firmas de ingeniería locales.
Estas inversiones están transformando el panorama de la infraestructura en Colombia, impulsando el crecimiento económico, pero también generando dudas sobre la soberanía y la transparencia. Ante esto, el gobierno colombiano está revisando los acuerdos y, en algunos casos, buscando renegociarlos.
