Wilfred Brown was a tenor and professional singer who lived in Petersfield. He taught music including to Prime Minster Harold Wilson’s children and performed and recorded with many musical greats like Vaughan Willaims, Gerald Finzi and guitarist John Williams.

We spoke to Matthew Brown, one of the six children Wilfred and Mary adopted. Matthew speaks about life at home, being adopted and contacting his birth family.

The popular Liss Horticultural Society’s annual plant sale took place on Saturday, 18 May.

East Meon enjoyed the good weather for their annual May Fair last Saturday.

A family event with the emphasis on community, it was all about the village hall turning fifty this year.

Cllr Catherine Clark was elected as the new chairperson at East Hants District Council.

 A member of the Whitehill and Bordon Community Party, she hopes to see as much of the district in her time in office.

Catherine says she is honoured to be Chairperson in the council’s 50th year.  They even had a cake to celebrate the 50 years.
