As all of the apprentices and Master Zelfree think that they got a clean escape, a fog bank looms in on the horizon. This can mean only one thing. Master Zelfree asks Volke to do one thing in his stead, go get the Frith Guild and keep Traces safe as Master Zelfree takes the journal with the wrong directions over to the Third Abyss as to leave the rest alone.

Well heading back to get healed, Illia asks us to do something for her and its simple. Just make a distraction. Volke goes above and beyond the call of duty in that regard. We get to see Zelfree blush and embarrassed, all while Illia is sneaking around. What did she find? What does she need it for? Why is it locked in a room that also contains plague ridden creatures? Volke manages to save the children and the griffin cub and gets them back to West Landin in time for the Trial of Worth Ceremony. Volke goes and takes a dip in a lucky spring but what happens afterwards is leaving Volke unsure if the spring really does bring him luck. Almost immediately he runs into a pirate arcanist and gets a pretty nasty bite from his eldrin.
