Tonight we sat down with Levi Meseberg, a standout player for the 1997 State Champion baseball team here in Royal. Levi went on to play college and pro ball before coming back to Royal City where he is raising a family with his wife Kellee who was a state champion softball player for Royal as well. Join us as we hear about his experiences playing and coaching baseball here in Royal City.

Maria went on to play basketball at Eastern Washington University where she became the school's all time leading rebounder. Today we had the pleasure of interviewing my grandpa, Shirley Christensen. Shirley moved to the Columbia Basin in 1952 as a freshman in high school. He starred as a running back for the first ever 11-man Othello High School football team and went on to play at Brigham Young University in the late 50s. His legacy in small town athletics has been carried on by his children, grandchildren, and now great-grandchildren.

This week we talk about Royal's run to the 2024 State Championship. It's their fifth consecutive title (state record) and 13th title overall (also a state record). We talk about the big time players and the differences between this team and past championship teams. We look forward to the future and discuss what Royal needs to do to keep their run going.
In episode 3, we bring in a new co-host: our little sister, Chloe! She tells us about her experience being the only girl in a family of football boys. She also tells us about her seasons in volleyball and golf as well as what she has learned from her brothers' football exploits.
In this episode we talk about why football and athletics in general are so important to small towns. We talk about some of the funny stories and interactions we have had with people in our town over the years. We break down some of our biggest rivals over the years, and we end the discussion talking about our favorite places to stop and eat after a game.
