In this episode, Kevin and DK discuss Dragon Ball Z episodes 17 - 25, covering the adventures of Goku along Snake Way and eventually his training with King Kai, Gohan's continued adventures in the wild and his training with Piccolo in preparation for the Saiyan threat, and the eventual arrival of the Saiyans Vegeta and Nappa, and the immediate rise in stakes that occurs as a result of their invasion. Kevin and DK also go against the fandom a little in their mutual admiration of Krillin as a character. For first viewers, what happens in these episodes defies Shounen storytelling tropes in an unprecedented way that still hits hard for new viewers to this day... including DK's girlfriend who was at the edge of her seat through all of this.
