Sometimes we look at prayer as a way of getting things from God.

We ask for prayer as though the more people praying will sway him, like he’s a judge on American idol and the person with the most prayers gets the victory, healing, whatever.

You’ll hear things like, “Well, I prayed and that didn’t work.” Or “ let’s spread the word and get as many prayers as possible so we can see God move.”
